I think I remember Steve Orlando (current Scarlet Witch writer) saying that Tommy has a good relationship with Wanda? And I'm iffy on Leah Williams' take on the Maximoffs but they seemed close there. Like I genuinely think a large part of the problem is simply that writers forget he exists/ would rather do Billy-Wanda parallels. He moved back into & lovingly restored the house Wanda raised him and Billy in. I'm sick over it
Marvel definitely picks favorites when it comes to their Speedster/Magic twins and the Speedsters get the short stick. I'm sure Wanda loves her kids but I'd like to SEE IT for once. I don't think have to be much either, a photo in the background with Tommy, her mentioning him at all, any acknowledgment that he exists in her world. I'm just sick of Marvel ignoring my boy!

I kid but the Kaidan being explicitly inexperienced to being domineering pipeline is important to ME.

I'm just putting the finshing touches on the finale to my Star Trek: Redemption fic, The Tardigrade and his Boy, which I expect to be posting later today. So, here's one last totally out of context snippet with wayyy more than six sentences:
“Calm down, Snow,” I say, gently.
He takes a shuddering breath, and the smoke surrounding us starts to recede. “Baz,” he gasps. “You’re back.”
I look down at myself, still disguised as a Watford School of Magicks student—or some kind of narc, if Wellbelove is to be believed—and realise who he thinks I am. The other one, his roommate, his—
“Thank magic,” he sighs, and then he’s embracing me, holding me tightly. He’s so warm, and it feels so … My Snow would never.
“No,” I say. It takes every fibre of self-control I have to pull back. “Bunce spelled us, Shepard and I, so we could cross the grounds without drawing attention. I’m Commander Grimm-Pitch, remember?”
Snow’s face falls and he starts—literally—fuming again.
“But it’s okay,” I choke out through a cough. “It’ll be okay.”
“No,” he growls. “You don’t understand. I just got him back. I missed him. So much, and I just got him back, and I can’t lose him again.”

WIP Wednesday
Helloooo. More words from my post-AWTWB fic. It's going surprisingly well. Its really very soft established relationship stuff but here's a dash of domestic angst. Simon drowning his sorrows in the (curry) sauce.
After work, I don’t immediately go home. I go to a nearby pub instead, ordering chips drenched in curry sauce and finding a booth in the corner where I won’t be bothered. I don’t drink. I shouldn’t, not when I already feel fucking terrible.
I do check my mobile, though, but the only text I’ve got all day was from Penny. We’re supposed to go to hers this weekend. Shepard is back in London, and we’re meant to catch up. Penny’s beside herself.
Baz hasn’t texted all day. It’s not strange. We don’t text a lot. I mean, we live together, but with everything else I just thought he might. I don’t know if he’s angry with me. For giving a fuck, which isn’t fair. For expecting him to tell me what’s going on.
I don’t know if I’m angry at him. Maybe I am.
It’s past eight. I never get home this late unless I’m with Penny or Lady—my Gran. Usually, Baz is home before six.
What if he doesn’t want to see me? Was it that bad?
I shove chip after chip into my mouth. I’m hungry. I’m fucking ravenous.

Six Sentence Sunday
I hope that this spring (or autumn in the southern hemisphere) brings you all the very best things.
One of the unexpected things it will bring is a Simon Snow Godzilla!AU. How many people are both Carry On and Godzilla fans? Let's see a show of hands. Anyone?
Ah well, my brain is a silly place and this story was coming whether anyone wanted it or not.
“If you haven’t guessed, I’m an American,” Shepard Love said, winningly. “But I love Japan. It’s always been my dream to come here.”
Peni didn’t need to be told. There was something so American about him. He smiled too broadly. He gestured too much. His accent was terrible. And most of all, he didn’t seem to be bothered that she was ignoring him, so that he was left holding a conversation alone.

you know, when I first played the Mass Effect Trilogy, I romanced Liara because I thought I was only going to romance her and enjoy her character. (Also cause I'm a raging lesbian-) I really like how she evolved as a character and how she cares for Shepard and her friend!
but then Garrus happened.
I fucking love him. He is the greatest best friend you could ever have and one hell of a lover. 10/10 easily ❤️
And then there is Thane... He is the definition of a gentleman, and super romantic. also, the man gives off hella bi vibes-
and finally... Javik. Yeah, idk why I love him so much. Although I may have the "I can fix them" mindset, I still find him interesting. his story and how he talks with the crew makes it even more worthwhile :D (wish he were a romance option and not a fling)
I just love how they interact with Shepard!

I clear my throat, because imagining him nude under the spray leads to imagining myself joining him there, and then what sorts of activities could happen then, and my vocal cords are clogging up again. “Of course,” I say, and then wince, because my voice comes out higher pitched than usual.
Why is this so awkward? So we had sex. People do that every day. (I don’t do that every day) (I guess it is rather a big deal for me). I’m almost relieved when Simon turns to trudge up the stairs without another word.

the shepards are mixed indian and black
ponyboy is deaf/hoh, transmasc, and pansexual… he also has adhd and he keeps the bleached hair :3 + i ship him with curly… he ends up going to uc berkeley on a track scholarship and studies journalism and literature
in almost everything i’ve written johnny and dally survive.. so this is that
johnny is obviously paralyzed still and is a wheelchair user and i think he also has adhd. he likes folk punk music and likes organic food and loves dogs + ship him with dally. bi and a he/they
dally has bpd and is super tall… he’s got the crumbling brown leather jacket that reeks of beer and cigarette smoke and loves elvis… dally is dally + ship him with johnny or soda depending on the universe of the fic
soda has super pretty amber eyes and long curly hair… he’s also chubby and i believe in the vietnam thing so he was drafted to vietnam and made two really close friends who were both killed in an explosion there, that explosion took off his left arm so he has one arm and uses a prosthetic. he is so lana del rey vintage americana coquette and loves gingham and flannels ofc… has pretty severe PTSD that he works though + ship him with dally. steve was also drafted to vietnam along with soda and became a horrible patriot in support of the war that soda began to drift from. they eventually reconcile but they’re completely different people and don’t talk for almost 3 months after getting home
darry has really long hair and he looks a lot like their father. he is a workaholic and can genuinely be rlly funny… uh i don’t have many ideas about twobit or anybody else but yeah all of my writing is based in these hcs

Random headcannons of The Outsiders:
Curtis Family
•Mrs. Curtis’ name is Jane.
•German descent.
•Ponyboy is the only one that actually learned German and still speaks it.
•The reason Ponyboy looks different compared to his brothers and parents is because of recessive genes from his Grandma on his mother’s side specifically.
•Darryl Curtis Sr was never really in contact with his parents after Soda was born, because he was raised with high standards that he didn’t reach. He didn’t want to raise his children like that although he did do it accidentally to Darry, which is why Darry also puts pressure on Ponyboy after the Curtis parents died.
•Darryl Sr had a drinking problem that both he and Jane hid from the kids. The only drinking they saw from their father was on special occasions. It was only on their parents funeral where they realized that their parents died due to drinking and driving. Both sides of the family knew except for the Curtis brothers.
•Jane grew up in a strictly religious family and her side of the family might’ve given Ponyboy religious trauma. He was the only one that payed attention. Darry was old enough to just say that he didn’t want to and Soda was too distracted to pay attention.

•Often hides his emotions when it comes to certain situations.
•He only felt like he had to stay strong for his brothers at their parents funeral. When he thought Ponyboy was dead, he just broke and felt terrible. He didn’t even regret crying when he saw Ponyboy at the hospital.

•He doesn’t really show it but he can be VERY protective over Ponyboy. One time a Soc came into the DX and started badmouthing Ponyboy and Steve had to hold Soda back from beating the Soc’s face in so that they wouldn’t get fired.

Ponyboy Curtis (Warning: This is just pure projection. And there will be mentions of Self-harm, suicide, trauma, SA, and sensory overloads.)

•It really depends on what mood Ponyboy is in if he wants to express his emotions or not.
•Definitely self-harmed and was suicidal after Windrixville. The only reason he didn’t out that in his theme was because he didn’t want Mr. Syme to tell Darry or Soda.
•A couple months before The Outsiders took place, Ponyboy was asked to see a teacher alone in his classroom. I’m not gonna go into detail but let’s just say that Ponyboy didn’t tell anyone because he was scared. (This is just pure projection, I’m so sorry)
•Whenever Ponyboy gets Overstimulated or goes into a Sensory Overload, he starts scratching or hitting himself. He also has difficulty breathing at times due to the sound amplifying, the lights being too bright, or just his skin not feeling comfortable to him.
•Books, Movies, and music are the ways Ponyboy calms down. The genre of books/movies he often enjoys are Dramas, Coming-of-age, and even Romance.
•After Johnny and Dally died, Ponyboy wore their jackets and Dally’s necklace. He never forgot a jacket again.
•When he was older and told the gang about his diagnoses, they all finally realized why Ponyboy was so different. It all made sense now.
•Does like Rock music but got tired of The Rolling Stones since it was so overplayed while he was growing up.
•He even made some music, himself when he was older.
•He wanted a career in the Entertainment Industry and was actually able to.
•Jobs he did in Entertainment: Screenwriting, Acting, Production, Wrote actual books, and even did modeling for a bit.
•Whenever he came back home, he always had gifts for the gang.
•He’s had to stay closeted for years due to the area he grew up in.
•Ponyboy has quite a few scars on his face but A LOT on his body.
•He stims in multiple ways. But he often hand flaps, jumps, runs, humming, or even squealing. Others would often call him a pansy whenever he stimmed in public.
•Ponyboy never really tried in English. It was definitely his strong suit.
•Similar to Soda, Ponyboy would often stay up at night, wondering what was wrong with him before his diagnoses. He almost felt cursed with knowledge.
•He often spent sleepless nights doing nothing but reading or studying for school.
•He got a Scholarship to New York University.
•Dating Johnny Cade and Curly Shepard.

Mass Effect LGBTQ+ representation issues and some headcanons
I've seen a few Mass Effect posts about the sexuality of the trilogy's characters, and I'd like to add my 5 cents, since none of those posts take into account the whole xenophilia aspect of canon relationships. And some of us are here for it. For the aliens. I am here for them. I'm not sorry.
Also, I have to acknowledge the fact that Bioware has made some very questionable choices, and the in-game representation is bad. Like BAD-bad.
I.E.(this list is going to be looong):
All Male Shepard/Kaidan Alenko dialog for ME1 and ME2 was written and fully voiced, but NOT INCLUDED in the final version of the game. And I know that the same thing happened to FemShep/Ashley, but that a bit different because...
The only "gay" romances in ME1 and ME2 are for femShep, and either with a female-representing human-like aliens (who like to dress in tight clothes that emphasize the size of their breasts), or with the equally feminine Kelly Chambers in ME2. Because, you know, guys who buy this game will be more tolerant of two "hot chicks making out" (insert a bunch of mods that make your femShep wear only lingerie and look like a TikTok e-girl) than a more realistic same-sex romance.
Especially when this romance is between two guys. Because ew. Right, Bioware? But you also wanted to sell your games to LGBTQ+ folks, so you installed a…
… so-called "gay button" into your games.
Before ME3, no one except for "hot chicks asari" states their sexuality. You can go through two entire games as a straight character completely surrounded by other completely straight characters. Oh, maybe Kelly likes aliens a little too much, but "who doesn't like asari", right? Even asexual salarians are into them. Sure, a straight woman like femShep…
"Hot chicks making out" really sells those game copies, I guess.
If you think ME3 is better, think again. The only two gay characters in the game are Cortez and Traynor, and they are both supporting characters, who are not even in your squad!
Cortez and his whole "I lost my husband" drama is conveniently placed on the lowest deck of the ship, so if this story offends your bigoted sensibilities, you can just ignore him along with the "dumb jock" Vega who is really unpopular with the players. Is it because he's really friendly with an openly gay character? Oh, who knows?
Meanwhile, Traynor is either mocked (oh, she found EDI voice hot and commented on that! what a shame! awkward lesbians, amirite?) or fetishized (don't get me wrong, Donnelly is funny, but his remarks about Traynor are even more yucky than the way he talks about EDI and lube).
But don't get mad about all this, because all the women in the trilogy are fetishized and heavily sexualized. The best example of this is Samara, whose character design is a war crime.
Bioware made Benezia look horrible (she tried to make Saren change his ways not with her power or wits but with those giant bazooms and the cleavage, I guess), and then they doubled down in ME2 and gave a warrior samurai nun a boob window. A FUCKING BOOB WINDOW. Because boys buy games, and they love boobs, y'know.
Oh, and any inappropriate remarks made by NPCs in the game are directed only at the femShep. Just like the MShenko romance, the male version of the dialog is fully voiced, but conveniently excluded from the game. Because guys can't tell other guys that they look hot in "that soldier getup". That can make bigots uncomfortable.
And let's talk about bi representation, because Bioware apparently hates bisexuals as much as straights and some queers do (trust me, as a bisexual I've experienced both types of hatred, and it's ugly). The only bisexual characters in the game are Kaidan and Diana Allers.
If you're a bigot playing as the maleShep, you can "safely" kill Kaidan on Virmire in the middle of the first game and not have to deal with his uncomfortable love confession at all!
So, yeah, Bigots: 1, Representation: 0. The bisexual is successfully killed, congratulations!
If you play as femShep, you won't even know that Kaidan is/was bi. Because who wants a bisexual guy who is comfortable with his sexuality? You can't sell that kind of romance to the good ladies who buy this game.
Diana Allers romance, meanwhile, is laugh-worthy. If you play as maleShep, you won't even know that she's bi. And if you're femShep, this romance is as insignificant as the one with Kelly, you won't even get an achievement for it! You can also kick her out of your ship without any consequences, so she will be KIA offscreen. You will find about it via fucking email. Bigots: 2, Representation: 0. Both of dirty bisexuals are successfully killed, congratulations!
The bi-xenophile Kelly suffers the same fate: no achievement for her romance, you cannot continue the romance after ME2, and she will either take a poison pill and die or be killed in the Collector's Base/Citadel offscreen in ME3. If she survives both the base and the Cerberus attack, you won't even get to say goodbye to her before the final battle of the game. Bigots: 3, Representation: 0
9. And I almost forgot about Omega DLC that kills the only female turian in the game. Who's also into asari. God, they did her dirty.
"Those were different times," you might say, but all of this could have been fixed in 2019, when the Limited Edition was released. Instead, we just have fellow modders changing the design of Benezia and Samara, restoring MShenko (one of the most healthy, respectful, and mature romances in the entire trilogy) and other gay romances in the game, making all NPCs flirt with your character, adding female turians and krogans to the environment, etc., etc.
Still, I think these games are great. The characters, the cinematics, some aspects of the writing, great! I love that canon. But the LGBTQ+ representation in those games sucks. Big time. But that doesn't stop me from having a bunch of headcanons. For the sake of convenience, I'm going to separate out all the characters for the games in which they debut.
Mass Effect:
MaleShep/FemShep: Both are canonically bi. Both don't mind the alien physiology thing and polyamory. Both are "married to your job" type, so they were okay with casual sex and one-night stands, and only mellowed out while in charge of the Normandy crew. Because of convenience, both had more hetero than same-sex hookups.
Ashley: Straight as a plank and xenophobic, but not homophobic. She's definitely into maleShep, but more into the idea of him as a sole survivor/war hero/butcher of Torfan than an actual person.
Garrus: He likes turian and quarian women. And both fem and maleShep. But with maleShep, he's more busy with the whole "flirt him to death" aspect of their bromance, so there's really no time to get on the floor and get dirty.
I also feel that turian society in the game is very patriarchal, so Garrus has a bias towards femShep and feels less restricted by her rank. With mShep, I think he would have only acted if mShep had specifically pursued that relationship. But mShep is also more interested in just flirting with Garrus.
Kaidan: Canonically bisexual (more into women) and demi. Not into aliens, but not xenophobic. Not a stranger to casual sex, but would really prefer to go steady because #introverted and has enough problems already. "How can you flirt with all these people, Shepard, it's exhausting…"
Liara: She's into both versions of Shepard. And maybe a bit into one drell. Classic demi/asexual. Also, imo, all asari are agender and Liara is not an exception.
Tali: Is a mess and can definitely go cross-species (her romance with Garrus is canon, after all). She's also a massive nerd and a bit kinky. I think she's into human/turian/quarian males, but maybe this femShep really is THAT SPECIAL.
Wrex: Krogan women - that's his sexual orientation. Real bros with mShep, more cautious with femShep because bias. Another "married to his job" character.
Joker: Straight and nerdy. #Irony. Too cool for homophobia.
Chakwas: More married to her job than anyone on this list. Cool lesbian aunt.

Six Sentence Sunday

i have two snippets to share! but this post is kinda long, so i'll put them under a cut.
so, the first is from the last chapter of Shoulder To Shoulder, which i'll be posting on wednesday:
“Fuck you Thatcher, or screw you Thatcher?” Agatha asks, propping up the sign she’s working on for us all to see.
“Oh, they’re both so good.” Shepard says wistfully, pinning the fabric for his new dress to a mannequin. I’m impressed by his ability to talk with such emotion with half a dozen pins held between his teeth. We’re on the top floor of the bookshop, which doubles as Niamh’s home, paint and glitter strewn all about the place.

then i also have a snippet from what i'll be working on after this fic is done, my nanowrimo project from last year that i didn't finish. in case you weren't here or missed me talking about it last year, it's a retelling of the aftermath of the Trojan War, following Astyanax, the son of Hector and Andromache, who died as a baby in some myths but survived in others. he bounces around Greece looking for his mother, who was taken after the war, and along the way runs into Briseis and Hermione, who both met Andromache and tell him what they experienced during that time. so there are a three stories in one!
here's a bit of Hermione's POV. i adore writing her, she's a bit like the way i write Agatha, judgemental and yet dissatisfied with the expectations put on her. it's very fun to write bitchy characters who eventually meet someone they can let their guard down around, and who then turn out to be quite nice.
I stood at the balcony, looking out over the courtyard, but there was still no sign of my husband. Looking straight across I could see the men’s half of the palace, but every window was dark. My mother’s rope was coiled in the corner, mocking me. Her words echoed in my mind and I couldn’t help but laugh dismissively. What did it matter if it was sturdy, when Neoptolemus was so small? He would be light as a feather.

kaidan got retconned into being bi because bioware wanted to add to his story: fine, true but boring
kaidan had a gay awakening in between me2 and me3 and immediately dove into work to avoid thinking about it: a bit funnier but still boring
kaidan realized he's bi because he hung out with joker too much after shepard died: top tier comedy, technically canon compliant, implications are insane

EEnE headcanons
Double D is only nice to Kevin sometimes because he doesn’t want him to beat up Eddy. Besides for that one time when Double D thought Eddy deserved it for making him think he had an illness. And because he knows that even Double D can get aggravated with Eddy, Kevin tries to encourage him to pick on the con man with friendly interactions. So it’s kinda sorta like gaslighting. But Double D still doesn’t trust him because he knows this. He cares about Eddy too much.
Not to mention that pretty much everyone in the cul de sac is nice to Double D because Double D is nice to them. What goes around comes around. Sarah is a huge example of this, she literally has a crush on him.
Plus I feel like Double D did somewhat feel bad for Eddy getting a beating afterwards.
Stuffed Pig’s Head is only a meal Rolf’s people eats when a swine has been put down from old age. They say the inner strength and soul of the dead pig will give those who consume it power to continue on. So it’s considered a tribute to the cycle of life. (And it would explain why Rolf hasn’t eaten Wilfred lol)
Marie does May’s nails.
There’s a big red and purple scar under Double D’s hat. When he was extremely little, probably just a few weeks before reaching 2, his curiosity found him in the middle of a dodgeball game with much older kids who teased him for being bad at the game. Later on, Double D built a machine that would launch dodgeballs like rapid fire. He met those same kids and again and used his invention in the next game. Something went wrong, and he, along with the other kids there were sent to the hospital, leaving him with the scar. His parents were utterly ashamed of his actions. The young genius they were raising had turned out to be a monster. Thus, they thought it was better to move to Peach Creek to try and leave this tragic event in their lives behind. Poor Double D is constantly reminded of the guilt whenever his hat is removed. And his parents, now distant and somewhat afraid of their son, community with him through sticky notes.
And yes, his mother stopped rubbing his feet with oil after the incident.
Ed is neurodivergent autistic.
So is Jonny
Rolf’s mother use to comfort him a lot when he was little, hence why he tends to shout “MAMA!” whenever he’s afraid or in pain.
Jimmy is a demi boy
Kevin and Nazz were considered a thing, but “broke up” cause it just wasn’t working out. Later, Nazz realized she was more in to girls and Kevin thought he’d just be better off single. Plus he was in love with his bike anyway
Blue is a natural hair color
Kevin was Rolf’s first friend he made in the cul-de-sac and was the one who taught The Son of a Shepard (TM) how to play sports.
Nazz is a hippie
Sarah was taught to hate Ed by their parents
Wilfred, Victor, etc are Rolf’s emotional support animals for his ptsd towards the wolf incident he experienced as a kid.
In the actual incident, the “wolf man” tore the baby sheep’s head off with his teeth. Leaving poor Rolf traumatized.
And that’s also why Rolf keeps all the sheep in his “lair”, he wants to protect them.
There’s a program in Peach Creek where the elementary schoolers are allowed to visit the jr high, hence why Jimmy and Sarah are there sometimes despite their young ages.

If Edt3 is to be canon, which to me it absolutely is, then I wouldn’t have their relationship with each other be any other way, besides for maybe a little less violence. That’s why I like the ship, nothing needs to change to see the goodness and love they show towards each other. It already feels canon.
Eddy and Double D are bi while Ed is full on gay.

Yknow when I was in high school I, along with the only out lesbian and only out gay man in our year, helped form our school’s first GSA. I thought I was cishet at the time and just an ally, and then knew I was bi and was in a “gay relationship” with someone who did not go to school with us, so I was closeted to anyone besides my friends. All of the rest of the membership was “straight” as far as we knew.
Our advisor was also straight but enthusiastic. She meant well but she would pick out people she thought might join the group and thought to pull them from class to ask and we had to explain why that was a terrible idea. We all got shit for being in the club. The out gay kids got it so much worse.
Then on the flip side, a good friend of mine seemed very gay. I was out to my circle and was selfishly proud of my gaydar for being able to pick up that he was queer. We three tried to nudge him to come out. It was like we had found him out and of course we wouldn’t judge, so we prodded and poked and “your secret is safe with us.” It was hypocritical of me to try to get the answer I was looking for privately, while also being closeted publicly. He didn’t owe me anything and yet being In with the queers made me feel like I should get him to confirm he was One Of Us.
Then suddenly he stopped replying jokingly with our prods and grew very uncomfortable and quiet instead. We backed off with the change, but really shouldn’t have been so forward to begin with.
He was one of the first people I came out to as trans years later, and he confided in me that he WAS queer, but a friend he disclosed to outed him to his parents and it forced him so deeply back into the closet. My trio would never have outed him to his family, but we were hardly any better with pressuring him. Hints he was welcome to share was one thing, badgering him was another. Then someone wore him down and betrayed his trust, making it impossible for him to come out before moving away for college.
We wanted more community in our tiny town, we wanted him to be part of that secret inner circle, and we all knew how miserable it was to be closeted. We had good intentions and yet still had no right to try to force someone to adhere to our timeline. And because he trusted someone to share his identity before he was ready, he ended up in a much worse place than if he just continued at his own pace!
I graduated high school 10 years ago. This isn’t ancient history.
My county never instilled protections for LGBT folks and friends of mine got told to their face they got fired for being gay. Matthew Shepard was killed in a hate crime in the early 2000s and for my entire growing up his name was wielded like a threat. People were afraid to “end up like matt shepard.”
Friends of mine still had to elope to another state to marry when we were adults because marriage equality wasn’t a thing in our state. Marriage equality nationally has only been a thing since 2015!
The risks and danger are not some bygone era now since 2015–it is real and tangible and still an issue! And that’s “just” being a gay man. Outing people can be life-ruining. It can be deadly. “Gay-bashing” is still a thing! We have no right to force someone to come out, not publicly, and still not privately!
It is not our choice no matter how progressively you spin it!
