Imagine rolling your eyes at Miguel and you thought he hadn’t caught that— so he promptly snatches onto your jaw firmly and hulls you fiercely close to his towering frame. Eyes sharp and glaring strictly into yours with harnessed aggravation and animosity.
“Did you just roll your eyes at me, mocosa?…do it again, I fucking dare you cariño” voice deep, husky and fierce. Grip on your jaw clenched tightly and unwavering, pulls you closer never breaking eye contact. Sends a wave of exhilarating thrill and prodding provocation through your fluttering body. Making you want to do it again, just for the sheer thrill of his piercing gaze and intimidating aura that stirred— salacious things within you.

something i've been thinking about:
Wally is set up as a sort of "main character" by the whrp. he's said in the site's description of the show to have introduced the main theme/lesson of the day's episode, and then the rest of the neighbors join him on his escapades. but then we have our first glimpses of everyone's actual dynamics and characters through the audios and you look at Wally and its like
first of all, thats an npc. second, nearly everybody else has severe main character syndrome
but its fascinating how Wally is just kind of... There. he doesnt talk much. he doesnt contribute beyond a couple of lines. its more like he joins the others on their shenanigans. he fades into the background. he's off to the side while everyone else holds conversations & leads the moment
Wally, despite being described as Thee character, is borderline background.
& whats even more interesting, within his individual secret audio files and interactions - he's almost chatty. not only that but the way he talks is more confident and faster paced. he's taking initiative. he can be kinda pushy. when talking to the qa/whrp/Us, he acts more like the character his descriptions portray. he acts more like a person instead of a puppet waiting for his next cue
I cant tell if - when around the neighbors - his tepid milk behavior is a purposeful act or if he's masking. and if he's masking, is it deliberate or involuntary? and in regards to both, why is he acting so different? It could be tied to what he's trying to accomplish. if he's trying to "restore" Welcome Home, it would make sense for him to act as he does around the neighbors - he wouldnt want to clue them in that he knows so much more than he's letting on, would he?
but then that begs another train of thought - what if he isn't acting or masking? if there is a time discrepancy between Wally's interactions with the qa/whrp/Us & the more 'official' audios, that could explain the difference in behavior. we could be getting glimpses into "future" (read: current) Wally, who's had much more time to figure himself out since we can safely assume he started out as a blank slate. we could be seeing a more experienced Wally than the one seen with his friends.
of course that line of thinking loses some merit when considering the 14 "bug" audios. or it could lend to it... if we're seeing a more experienced Wally but his friends are only seeing what he allows them to. it's still him, just... a carefully curated version.
in general it could really tie into the themes of identity and change and being other, to me. when you're so different - or you feel so different - that you can't bring yourself to be your most authentic you around your friends. when you feel like you have to hold back and be who you think they expect you to be, or what would be most palatable. most normal. will they accept you as you really are? there's always the fear and terror that the people you consider closest to you won't. or when you're so scared of change that you'll shove down & lock away parts of yourself so that you can keep things as you are. because once they know you've changed, so will they. and really, do you want to even accept that you've changed? what if that's what scares you most of all - that you're different, you've metamorphosized, you can't go back to the way things were because you yourself are no longer the person you were before. there is no reversing this no matter how much you try or pretend

Arranged marriage zhuiling AU where instead of being arranged to marry each other, Jiang Cheng keeps trying to set Jin Ling up with random girls from other clans after Jin Ling mentions he’s interested in marrying ‘someone’ because he doesn’t know Jin Ling meant Lan Sizhui, so Jin Ling keeps doing the most ridiculously annoying and unappealing things to scare off every girl who comes to Koi Tower and Jiang Cheng is ripping his hair out because you little brat, you said you wanted to get married???
Eventually, both of them are so exhausted from the miscommunication that Jiang Cheng investigates and finally finds out what’s wrong, then tells Jin Ling he has one more potential spouse for him to meet. Jin Ling is a pouting lackluster mess over it until his entire world stops when the doors to Koi Tower open and Lan Sizhui walks through.

You talked a little while ago about why you don't think Shidou would make a good father to Amane (agreed) and proposed the idea of Mahiru adopting Amane. That's cute but I want to tell you about my post-MILGRAM headcanon:
Amane joins the Kajiyamas
Not Fuuta specifically adopting her, but like him taking her back to his family's house. I'm sure they'd have a spare room
I think people don't think about Fuuta's homelife much, or if they do they take Fuuta's one interrogation question where he calls his dad an old fogey and assume its like, abusive
And don't get me wrong, I don't think the Kajiyama household are perfect. Fuuta' beautician sister surely hasn't helped when it comes to Fuuta's body image issues and I'm betting they're all a bunch of tsunderes too embarrassed to say they love each other
But in a series where most of the abused characters are still convinced their abuser loved them/acted out of love. Seeing a guy not be afraid to call his dad a loser is almost a green flag
I think it'd be good for Amane to not necessarily be adopted as the lone child to a single parent but get to be introduced to a very different style of family unit from her own
One where its normal to express different opinions or disagreements or even have arguments and not have it be the end of the world
Amane already has a snarky side to her, I bet it'd flourish in a brash household like the Kajiyama's (or at least how I imagine them to be)
OOHHH wait I love that so much! >:O
I agree -- I never interpreted Fuuta's family as abusive or harmful, just not super close and struggling a bit after his mother left. (And yeah, all as openly emotional as him😭) They seem stable and very capable to taking in a extra, very well-behaved child. Assuming Fuuta is the way he is because of them, that atmosphere of being very honest and forward would work well for her. They say things as they are, little by little pointing out the harmful parts of her worldview. Like you said, none of them make excuses about harmful behavior stemming from love, so she'd get a really healthy dose of truth in that area. She never feels coddled or treated like a baby. They care for her while treating her very maturely.
I absolutely love how well she and Fuuta get along, with that snarky side to her that you mentioned. It would allow her to fit in well in the new household, getting the sense of belonging she'll lose after leaving the cult. Also, seeing how Fuuta and his sister let things slip and aren't perfect sons/daughters, she'll be able to relax about earning a parent's love through perfect behavior. She'll probably stay exactly the same, but her stress about it will fade <3
I doubt Fuuta's father can ever replace the hole she'll have from her own father, but the addition of an older sister will be huge. Amane will never get the feeling her mother is being replaced, but the woman will still fill the gap of the older, same-gender role model she needs. Her beautician job may throw Amane at first (being an indulgence in vanity), but it isn't as in-your-face as other careers. I think she could definitely ease Amane into accepting it, and over time, accepting her own personal "indulgence."
Plus, her moving in would also be really good for Fuuta! I think he'd recognize there's a ton of fun things she missed out on, and that heroic side of him outweighs the part that cringes: he gripes and groans about going to "kid places," but he's always the one to announce "I can't believe you've never been to __, we're going right now!!" This allows him to touch grass leave the house and experience his own life to the fullest. He's able to channel his desire to help society into a healthier outlet. Also, seeing her studying habits and plans for the future might even inspire him to do the same. (might.) He becomes the stereotypical good big brother, though of course he denies it viciously...
I have recently been going insane over their friendship so I'm completely taken with this idea OUGH thank you for telling me ;-----;

Lief: "Can we talk more about these 'Universe Gates'? Sounds a bit like what I keep hearing about the fourth wall."
Wait, the what? How do you know about that-??
"I think I made those back when we were still going through the deity war," They said but seemed unsure.
"I could be wrong though! That was like a bazillion years ago. I'm still pretty mad I was regenerating the whole time! I missed the funny little mortals fighting each other with their magic, that would have been so fun to watch!"
The Hoopa suddenly crossed their arms in annoyance. "I still think it was pretty stupid Xerneas and Yveltal stopped the whole thing! I wanted to see some bloodshed!!" They gave an ominous grin, Sirius however was staring at them with disgust, "What in God's name is wrong with you." Journey just gave a shrug, "I dunno! Ask Arceus, They made me."
"Hmmm..."
Sirius looked surprised at first, but his expression quickly shifted into a glare upon realizing he was being insulted.
"You know being a U-Gate Engineer isn't easy, Journey."
The Meowstic glared at them, they were starting to become fed up with the Hoopa's childishness. "Seriously? You're bored? Good gods, I should be teaching young and eager college students right now, Journey! Not babysitting you, an incompetent, indolent and frankly stubborn Demi-god."
"But, No. Because of that and having to sit here and babysit you constantly, I must continue to be the only technician qualified enough to do work on U-gates!"
He sighed, before pointing at them. "You should be very grateful I keep on top of our jobs work queue. You stupidly created thousands of these gates and didn't even think of the consequences and upkeep required to keep them--" The Hoopa cut off his rant. "Yeah, yeah. Okay."
"Oh. Okay, first name calling and now you're gaslighting me again?" He put up a paw in dismissal, Sirius looked a bit hurt by their words. "And about something I told you in complete sincerity? Really mature Journey. Stop it, I'm not stupid enough to fall for your tricks anymore. That, there, is why we have a 'No Talking' rule on repair jobs now."
"Calling me a nerd is very demeaning of my efforts and I do not appreciate it." Sirius was staring daggers at the Hoopa, they however seemed disinterested in what he had to say.
"Same old, same old. You're still a nerd, just with a fancy title."
Sirius turned his attention back to the Simbobeon, his irritation with the Hoopa was quick to melt away.
"It's my field of work and I take great pride in my knowledge of it. I have made many contributions to the greater knowledge and study of U-gates." He gave a cheerful smile.
"I've even written various papers on them, held conferences and much more… In other words, I am considered the specialist on them. So, do your worst, If I don't know the answer I'm happy to investigate and get back to you with one."
→ Sirius happily invites any questions Lief or others may have regarding the Universe Gates, seems he'll do his best to answer anything asked about them!
→ Universe Gate questions will be prioritized and likely will be answered primarily in text format. Other asked questions will continue normally on the side.
