HOT WHEELS: LET’S RACE - Mini-Redesigns and Headcanons !

Over the past few weeks, I’ve been watching this super-cute new hot wheels show! And while I originally didn’t intend to do much in terms of fan content, I accidentally got very attached to these silly little guys so something was in order. While I like what the show has to offer, I don’t love that they wear casual clothes instead of actual racing gear, so I designed my own !!

The suits match because I imagine that these were given to them as a gift from Dash, symbolising the shift from “temporary campers” to her full-time protégés. I wanted to go full-hot wheels inspo, so all of the suits are decked out with a sweet flame pattern ! They all have little name badges on the side, and the colours of their suits are taken from the racing gloves which Dash gives them in S1! I wanted the suits to feel very simple compared to a pro racer’s suit, so while they have many staples, they have no sponsor patches anywhere ! As for the numbers on their suits, they are their rankings from camp !(thanks @viewer-of-many for the idea!!)

As I do with any media I like, I’ve included some little headcanon pages to go with! I’ve included headcanons for their full names- because I refuse to believe that these are all their legal names- as well as their pronouns, ages, racer numbers, nationalities, and heights ! I want to go in-depth on some of my choices, so buckle in! (Also if you’re finding this post and you’re a hot wheels fan PLEASE come talk to me I need more people to babble with)

COOP

Cooper “Coop” Fèng, our camp champ and main character is up first! I’m pretty sure that Cooper is canonically his first name, so I stuck with that. The nickname “Coop” was kind of just a natural development, it’s shorter, and he likes cars. Perfect! His surname is Fèng, a Chinese surname that means phoenix- which I chose because I think it’s a neat reference to his shift from “average kid” to camp champ. A real rise from the ashes! I headcanon him to be Chinese & African American- his Dad is the former and his other parent would be the latter. His pronouns are he/him, he’s 12 years old, 4’10” tall and thanks to his winning status- racer 01 in the level 2 training program !!

MAC

Mackenzie “Mac” Caliper is next ! Like Cooper, I feel like his nickname is just a shortened version of his full name, and “Mackenzie” just felt right. Before you ask- the name is gender neutral where I come from. His surname, Caliper, is taken from a car part, it’s the disc in a brake system ! Also I made his hair into some sort of mullet-y thing because of his crimes of having no bangs. I headcanon him to be Canadian. Mac uses he/him pronouns, is 12 years old (he is the oldest of the three 12 year olds, having a December birthday in the year prior), 4’11” tall, and racer 04 !

SPARK

Samantha “Spark” Turner ! For her first name, I wanted something cute that could hypothetically be given a GNC nickname. Plus “Samantha” and “spark” sound so cute together! The nickname Spark came from her love of inventing, and how her brain is always “sparking” with ideas! Her surname, Turner, is a play on a car’s “turn signal”. Not included on the chart, but I headcanon her as Autistic ! Spark is a black Canadian, her pronouns are she/her, she is 11 years old (the youngest of the 6 campers), 4’7” tall, and is racer 03 !!

BRIGHTS

Bryce “Brights” Hikari is racer 05! I imagine that she was born missing her arm, hence her prosthetic. Despite her hair matching her Uncle’s- it’s 100% dyed. Her first name, Bryce, fully just comes from me mishearing her name the first time I watched the show. So I choose to reuse it. I headcanon her as being Japanese, and her surname, Hikari, means “light”! The nickname “Brights” combines the sound of her first name and the meaning of her last! Brights uses she/her pronouns, is 12 years old, and is 4’9” tall.

AXLE

Axle Spoiler, son of beloved champ Striker Spoiler! The only character with a canon full name, and the only one who I can believe that his name is actually his legal one. I headcanon him as being Mexican. Axle is the oldest of the racers, at 14 years old. Axle uses he/him pronouns, is 5’2” tall, and is racer 02- something he accepts, but feels just a little taunted by. (I feel so funny saying so little about him because he’s my favourite.)

SIDECAR

Simon “Sidecar” Cotter is the final racer ! For his name, I wanted to keep the initials of his nickname (S.C.) intact. I went with Simon for his first name, because it’s a little goofy, but also feels just a little TOO formal for someone like him. His surname is, you guessed it, a reference to a car part! A Cotter is a pin which secures something in place. I think that Axle gave him the nickname “sidecar”, because he seems to start off as his sidekick. Sidecar is American, 13 years old, 4’8” tall, uses he/him pronouns, and is racer 06 at camp !!

The Newlywed Game: Friends Edition

A/N: I’ve placed this at the brunch the morning after the wedding. One last hurrah before the beans jet off to their honeymoon.

Everyone give a round of applause to our host, @jamespotterthefirst, she’s single-handedly making Wednesday’s a million times better.

Cast of Characters: Sienna - Bryce - Jackie - Elijah - Kyra - Naveen - Harper - Aurora - Natalie - Gen - Ethan (Their family is there and the rest of the gang but the only ones who speak or mentioned)

All of Ethan and Gen’s closest family and friends are seated at the brunch table, chatting about the wedding, the night before, and what a fun night it was. In the middle of the chatter, Natalie - Gen’s sister and Bryce’s girlfriend - stands up from the table, clinking her champagne flute to get the rooms' attention.

Natalie: Hello, hello. Hope everyone isn’t too hungover, I thought we’d add some fun to this brunch. Ethan: Christ, what now? Can’t I just eat my breakfast in peace? Natalie: You may not. *clears her throat* As you all know, at the engagement party last year, we had our two love birds play a few games, well, Sienna and I have one more in store. Gen: I’m not taking off my shoes! Natalie: No, no. This one isn’t for the bride and groom, it’s for their friends. You all are going to answer ten questions about the newlyweds and hopefully leave them just a little bit embarrassed. So, who’s ready? Jackie: I am. Let the games begin.

How did you first find out about their relationship? Were you surprised?

Elijah: When Gen tried to sneak Ethan out of her room at the end of our intern year. Sienna: Same. Jackie: The hopeful hearts gala, when Dr. Terminator kissed Gen in front of the entire hospital. Kyra: And I’ll answer the second part for everyone, No. No one was surprised.

How was the rumor mill at Edenbrook once they went public? Did you have to defend their honor?

Naveen: I’ll answer this one, it was buzzing. The only thing talked about for weeks. Harper: Yes! Although, if I remember correctly, most of the chatter was everyone agreeing that none of us were surprised and it was about damn time. Bryce: There was that one resident, from Gen’s class that tried to start shit, a female Landry Olsen, but no one believed her and Raf and I shut it down real quick. Kyra: Let’s be honest, she was just bitter that she wasn’t the resident Ethan snuck off to the office with that night. Jackie: I’d almost forgotten about the office - Ethan: Paperwork. G and I had paperwork to file. Naveen: No one at this table believes that for a second, my boy. No one. *entire table clinks their glasses together*

What was your first impression of Ethan? Did he fit into the friend group right away?

Sienna: We all had the same impression, I think, that he -- Kyra: Was the hottest doctor at Edenbrook. Sienna: No. That he was intimidating but inspiring. Jackie: I think the question meant, our first impression of him as Gen’s boyfriend. Sienna: Oh, well... I always thought he was perfect for her. Jackie: Gross. Bryce: And he fit in right away, besties from the start. Ethan: Lahela, call me bestie again and I’ll throw this bottle of syrup at you.

What’s the most adorable thing they do as a couple?

Sienna: Everything. Elijah: I think it’s cute how he’ always holding her hand. Jackie: I’m not drunk enough for this question.

Which of their dates would you have liked to crash?

Bryce: Their escape room dates. Ethan: You already crash those, with Natalie in tow. Bryce: Not crashing if we’re invited, bud. Sienna: I’d love to crash their opera dates, I’ve always wanted to see the opera. Natalie: Si, babe, you don’t want to crash those. I’ve heard some stories from our blushing bride, and things get -- Gen: *turning bright red* Boring. Super boring Ethan: *whispering in Gen’s ear* For the love of god, G, stop telling your sister about our sex life. Gen: I’m never telling her anything ever again.

Did you ever witness a walk of shame (or anything else of the sort)?

*entire table starts laughing, clearly all having witnessed one instance or another* Ethan: Next question, please. Jackie: This is fun.

What was your reaction when you found out MC was moving out to move in with Ethan?

Aurora: Excited because I could finally move out of the rat’s room. I swear it was haunted. Sienna: I was excited, too. Jackie: My only thought was, about fucking time. She never even slept at the apartment anymore.

Who won the prediction pool about when Ethan would pop the question?

Naveen: Harper beat me by a week. Ethan: Harper?! Harper: *shrugs, sipping her mimosa*

Were you in the wedding party? What was your favorite part about the wedding?

Bryce: I wasn’t. Still a little hurt. Ethan: We had two people each, it was a small wedding. Bryce: Doesn’t mean I still can’t feel hurt. Sienna: Did you or did you not still get to attend the bachelor party and rehearsal dinner, even though Ethan only had Naveen and Henry? Bryce: Yeah. Sienna: So stop complaining. None of the girls felt betrayed that Gen only had Natalie and I. Stop whining. Elijah: Anyway... My favorite part of the wedding was Naveen’s best man speech. That had me tearing up a bit. Aurora: Mine was the first dance. Jackie: The open bar. Sienna: Stalling for an hour while they snuck away. Gen: *blushing again* I’m never telling you anything ever again. Kyra: Gen, the entire wedding, and I mean, the entire wedding, knew why you two disappeared for forty-five minutes. And no one cared. Ethan: *hiding his face in his hand, grumbling about never talking to anyone ever again*

Natalie: Okay, last one. And everyone including the married couple must answer.

Fuck/Marry/Kill: the three people in the room with you.

Ethan: This is ridiculous. Bryce: Marry Natalie, fuck Sienna, and kill Jackie. Jackie: I’d kill you, too, meathead. Marry Sienna and fuck Kyra. Kyra: Wow, I’m honored. Fuck Bryce, Marry Natalie and kill Elijah. Elijah: Rude. I’d also marry Sienna because she cooks and bakes. Fuck Jackie and Kill Bryce. Aurora: Fuck Raf, kill Bryce, Marry Natalie. Sienna: Marry Natalie, fuck Bryce, kill Jackie. Naveen: I think Harper and I will pass. Harper: We will. Ethan: Thank god. Are we done now? Natalie: You and G have to answer. Ethan: We’re not -- Gen: Marry and fuck Ethan and kill my sister for the opera comment. Bryce: The rule is three people, one for each not two for one. Gen: If you think I’m picking anyone other than my super hot husband to marry and fuck, you’re stupid. Jackie: She’s right, we all knew that was her answer. Elijah: But the rules -- Ethan: She gave her answer. Move on. Natalie: Waiting on you, Groom. Ethan: No. Entire Table: You have to. Ethan: *pinches the bridge of his nose* Marry Gen and kill Lahela or Natalie. Bryce: *sing-song voice* You forgot one. Ethan: *death glare* My wife. But I refuse to use that word and her name in the same sentence with my father and her father sitting across from me. Gen: It’s okay, we all knew that was your answer. *kisses his cheek*

doraelin-oh I wanted this to happen so bad. they were absolutely adorable but when celaena ended it I was like eh ok time to move on

choalena-I liked it in the beginning but when nehemiah died this ship died. and twas the beginning of my hatred for chaol

‘So? Neil why isn’t coming again?’

‘Because he said he had to take care of his daughter,’ Dilshad said, looking away.

Alishka sighed happily. There was nothing good about not having her older brother visit her in Boston, but she was also somewhat relieved. Conjuring up stories was unlike her, but Neil had insisted upon seeing the ‘Guy from Work’, a result of her confiding in Gianna, his wife. Alishka had stopped telling things to her after that.

‘I bet she is growing up fast,’ she said, lining up her next shot.

‘She is. You won’t believe how much she has grown since you last saw her.’

She laughed. ‘I know that. I have talked to her, you know. She video calls me every Sunday.’

‘That’s cute. We only ever talk when I am over.’

‘Yeah ‘cause she likes me better than you.’

‘She likes me better than you,’ Dilshad mocked, pitching his voice higher, making her laugh even more. ‘Don’t think I’ll fall for that trap.’

‘It’s not a trap. It’s the truth.’

Her ball rolled toward the pins, and she had another perfect score.

‘Hell, how do you do that?’

She smirked. ‘You gotta focus.’

‘Ofcourse,’ he said, rolling his eyes.

To be honest, in a long time, she actually felt happy. After the … events at Miami, she hadn’t been sleeping well. A game of bowling with her brother felt like therapy. She had also asked her friends to tag along, but only Bryce had been free, and he should have been here by now…

‘Hi Lish, sorry I am late,’ he said, leaning in for a quick hug.

‘No worries,’ she said, hugging him back. ‘This is Dilshad, my brother.’

They exchanged greetings and warmed up to each other. It amazed Alishka how easily Bryce got along with everyone. He just had that … personality.

‘So Lish, ready to lose?’

‘You bet.’

‘That’s no good. Another perfect score.’

Ethan laughed, a full hearty laugh in what seemed like weeks. James was being especially whiny as he lost their little match at Bowling as he proceeded to take off the tennis shoes and put the ball back.

‘How the hell do you do that?’

‘Focus,’ Ethan answered, breathing heavily.

‘Yeah, sure,’ James mocked. ‘Look, this has been fun, but how about we meet for dinner tonight? And don’t be ridiculous and try to bullshit me by giving some excuse. You are coming.’

‘Okay,’ he said, chuckling. ‘You can be pretty relentless.’

‘That I am. Although, I gotta take off now, so I’ll see you at dinner? Libertine? Sounds good?’

‘Yeah, I’ll see you then.’

‘Yeah, ‘kay.’

As he disappeared into the crowd, Ethan leaned back, taking a moment to relax while he got rid of his own shoes. Having a day off wasn’t always good. He was a workaholic, and he liked to keep himself busy, but sometimes, slowing down felt good too.

He could’ve never imagined he’d be out bowling when Naveen was this sick, but James had been adamant. He had said, ‘Sometimes a cleansing of mind is required. Maybe you’ll think better after having some time for yourself.’

Well, he didn’t know if James was right. But it didn’t hurt much to give a few hours to his friend rather than arguing, because that would never be useful. James was a lawyer, he knew his ways.

Ethan sighed. As much as he had loved the few hours they had spent together, it was time to go back and do some more research.

He stood up, walking with his determined stride, keeping his head low. Only now he noticed how chaotic a bowling alley actually could be. For him being in his own tone, he halfheartedly ignored the familiar laughter that filled his ears, thinking he was probably just imagining.

But just a moment later, he slammed into someone, his arms immediately reaching out to catch her because she was knocked off balance.

Only then he realised that he hadn’t quite imagined her laughter.

She was actually here.

For a moment of madness, it felt all too impossible.

Ethan Ramsey didn’t do activities. Hell, he didn’t even take off days. For her to meet him here of all places, and this way… she had to be dreaming.

Her eyes widened as she pulled back, stumbled on her own feet before staggering even backwards.

‘You okay, Lish?’ Bryce asked. ‘And you–’

‘Hello, Dr. Lahela.’

‘Uh, hi, Dr. Ramsey.’

Oh dear God. Could this get any more worse?

‘Is this the guy from work?’

Guy from Work. Ofcourse.

Alishka’s eyes widened even more in horror. And she noticed Ethan’s eyebrows rise at the mention. ‘How do you know? Who told you?’

‘Gianna, she said, –’

‘Shh,’ Alishka hissed, but to no avail.

‘Well, you are quite the man,’ Dilshad said, smiling as he walked past her. ‘Hi, I am Dilshad Roy, her brother.’

Vaguely, she regretted all this, even though there was no way she could have known. This just wasn’t like the Ethan she knew. But somehow, that seemed to be a less of a concern now. She exhaled sharply, about to cut in, but then her gaze met Ethan’s. She couldn’t tell what he was thinking as he raised a hand to stop her.

‘Yeah,’ Ethan said with a small smile. ‘It seems you already know me.’

Alishka winced. Apparently, it could get worse.

‘Who wouldn’t? You are Ethan Ramsey, her medical hero. And …’

‘Her boyfriend,’ he finished, ignoring the shiver running down his spine at the word.

He didn’t know what had taken over in that moment. His duplicity came quite naturally. Was it out of protective instinct or in a desire to live in a bubble, he didn’t know.

He wasn’t aware of what Alishka’s family knew about them. This could be some move in that situation, but he barely gave it a thought as he moved to Alishka’s side.

‘Would you like to play a round, Ethan?’ Dilshad asked over the loud music that filled the alley.

‘He can’t stay,’ Alishka said immediately. ‘There is an important research to be finished, and..’

‘And you don’t need to worry about that,’ he offered. ‘I’ll be happy to stay for a round.’

Alishka painted a false smile on her face when Dilshad looked her way, but in reality, she was in complete utter shock. They moved to the side some more, allowing people to pass around them. Almost too suddenly, she looked away, Ethan following her gaze to a distant corner of the alley. His gaze slipped down to the mustard yellow ripped top she was wearing, paired with jeans. She looked good in casual clothes, not something he saw her usually in.

‘You didn’t have to do that, you know,’ she whispered, crossing her arms across her chest. ‘Lie like that. Why did you do it?’

‘I don’t know,’ he said under his breath. ‘Felt like the right thing to do.’

She scoffed. ‘Right thing about what, Ethan? I think you were very clear–’

She was interrupted when he loudly cleared his throat as Dilshad approached.

‘Here you go man, let’s do this.’

‘Yeah,’ Ethan said with a chuckle. Let’s do it.

One and a half rounds later, Ethan found himself again by the side of Alishka, quietly staring at the floor. He wondered what she found so fascinating about it.

For the lack of anything to say, his gaze shuffled between their feet, wondering about what she had been saying earlier. It was right, he had been very clear about the nature of their relationship when they had been back from Miami.

It had been his decision after all, hadn’t it?

Beside him, Alishka sighed loudly. Her silence was worse than he could’ve ever imagined.

Maybe she was correct. Maybe he did it for himself, throwing all the rationality he stuck by otherwise out of the window. Maybe he was wrong in creating this bubble.

He didn't know.

What he knew now, was that apparently, both of them had tremendous acting skills. And they’d have to use it for a little more time because soon, they would be done with this little bubble that he had created so impulsively.

Coming to think of it, maybe he was wrong, but he didn’t want to acknowledge that.

‘AW MAN!’ Dilshad exclaimed as Bryce did his – possibly – first perfect score. ‘I can’t believe I lost!’

‘We all have our days, Dilshad,’ Alishka said quietly, before turning to look at Ethan with cold steel. ‘I guess, we should leave now, I have got some homework to do for our next case.’

‘Yeah,’ Bryce offered. ‘Lish, can I walk you?’

‘Ofcourse,’ she smiled brightly. ‘Just a moment please.’

Pulling Ethan aside by the arm, she brushed her hair away and looked up at him. ‘If we get into any mess because of this, it’s on you. Like I said, you didn’t have to do that. I don’t like lying. And therefore, you can’t blame me for anything.’

With that, she walked away, wrapping an arm around Bryce as he led her outside.

‘She can be like that sometimes,’ Dilshad said, looking at the expression on Ethan’s face. He wasn’t quick enough to school it into a proper smile. ‘Weird, you know, but don’t let it bother you. She is probably just stressed.’

And she is right to be, he thought, but said nothing.

‘What I was saying is, it’s her, I mean our niece’s birthday next month. And she’d be really happy if you come.’

If we get into any mess because of this, it’s on you. Like I said, you didn’t have to do that. I don’t like lying. And therefore, you can’t blame me for anything.

Ethan offered a tight smile, watching her disappear into bright light of the day.

‘Yes, ofcourse.’

I don't particularly have any strong emotions over any Bombas, but if I had to pick 5 and put them in order of favourites it would probs be:

5. Kati Farkas - Zurich 1991 (cover) - I just love the sass she's giving in all her photos. Also, she and my favourite Tugger, Brain Carmack have this swag picture of them together and my brain is just screaming mlm leaning/wlw leaning bi solidarity

4. Rebecca Parker - London 1996 - I think I just have a crush on her honestly. She's cute ;; Not much else to say.

3. Marlene Danielle - Broadway 1982-2000 - She played Bombalurina for the show's ENTIRE FUCKING RUN ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? She used to hold the world record for longest standing musical performer (maybe she should sit down every once in a while, ey? Ey? Anyone? Meh, tough crowd.) Here's my favourite picture of her in the Oval Office with George Bush. Can I just say this picture makes me almost throw up from laughing every time I see it, Jellicles at the Oval Office starting a coup, I can't...

2. Rosemarie Ford - Cats 1998 - I can't help it okay? I know she's such a super basic 'baby's first Bombalurina' choice, but she's so funny and pretty and she fits the character so insanely well that I can't say no. To make up for it, here's a picture of her from UK Tour 1989.

1. Grant Newsome - Zurich 1991 - OKAY SO, I KNOW HE TECHNICALLY DIDN'T PLAY BOMBA, BUT YOU CAN'T STOP ME. Sorry but he gets number one spot just for the insane novelty of it all.

5. Scott Sherrin - London 1989 - I just fucking LOVE his outfit and makeup choices, I love his pink nose and I'm obsessed with this unitard like HELLO?? He looks so fucking COOL

4. Bryce Bermingham - US Tour 5 - The second red-collar Jerrie who has some truly adorable pictures on the wiki. He's insanely fluffy and I just think he's so cute,, I can't help it I'm mentally ill.

3. Steven Agdeppa - La Mirada 2014 - I love his costume design and he's literally the source inspiration for bangs jerrie if anyone was curious, (and the rainbow brite puppy shhh) - The only thing I don't like about him is his singing. I don't know if it's just my "The Jellicles are from London" preference but I just... don't like non-british Jerrie voices. Here's one of my gifs <3

2. Billy Johnstone - US Tour 4 - I fucking... LOVE this Jerrie so much. He's so fluffy and cute and he's the first red collar Jerrie as far as I know. I have a couple favourite pictures of him, but I can only put one pic per Jerrie so heres his <3

1. I'm a basic bitch okay... Drew Varley - Cats 1998 - LISTEN, I NEVER SAID I WAS ORIGINAL WITH MY FAVOURITES. I can't help it, he's very accessible and cute and that deleted clip just solidified him as pretty much the perfect Jerrie acting wise. I actually prefer the US Tour 4-5 costumes than this version, but no one has captured his personality as well as Drew, in my own personal opinion. Love him <33 here's a grumpy boy

The Boys Say ILY

Bryce

Bryce had a plan.

MC wasn’t just some girl he was seeing. MC had never been just some girl. He’d never felt this way about anyone else and he just knew this was real. He thought he was in love with his ex but now he realized it was just puppy love.

He’s convinced MC is the one. With everything that happened between them the first time he said it had to mean something. It had to be grand and romantic and the embodiment of their relationship - effortless, hilarious, and so full of pure unadulterated adoration.

So he hatched the most perfect plan.

Something understated she’d never see coming.

In his apartment after a day out with MC visiting Keiki at school, the couple were getting into their PJs after having a shower.. Music played throughout the apartment over his stereo.

MC finished her routine before Bryce and his 10-step hair care system. She was wrapped up in a blanket mindlessly scrolling through Pictagram as she waited and not paying any mind to the music overhead.

Then Bryce comes flying out of his bedroom wearing board shorts and an unbuttoned floral shirt and singing ‘I.F.L.Y.’ by Bazzi out of key and into a hairbrush.

He’d even had joke sunglasses on; like the neon ones in bright green in the shape of stars and lenses so black they eclipsed his gorgeous eyes.

MC was laughing and it all made sense on why he was taking longer than normal.

She wasn’t taking him seriously as she giggled and watched him wiggle around in front of her as he tried to dance and out sing Bazzi.

Until Bryce purposefully drops the brush, rips the shades off and kneels in front of her. The sound of the items clacking against the wood floor louder than the music as the speakers drop to a dull line in the background

Her brows furrow in amusement.

Bryce waits for one beat. Then another. Then another.

She’s looking at him waiting for the catch.

He looks her in her eyes, the signature megawatt smile on full display, and proclaims;

“I fucking love you, MC.”

Ethan

MC refused to say it first. She’s known she’s loved Ethan for months, but with all their problems she refused to say it or acknowledge the words.

She knows he’s committed and has eyes for no one else but her. She knows he has issues letting people in on his feelings. She understands and doesn’t hold her breath.

He shows her he loves her every single day.

It’s her birthday.

They’re at his place after a shift.

Ethan ordered in Chinese food and promised to take her away in a few weeks time - he planned on taking her to Salem for Halloween. And it wasn’t just her... her friends would be there to surprise her.

On the couch, where a lot of their big moments happen, he gave her a gift and a card.

MC opened the card and looked at the generic ‘happy birthday to my girlfriend’ on the cover and opened it with a smile, not really reading the inscription but pretending to read it thoughtfully. She’s impatient and wanted to unwrap what he got her. The box was big!

She ripped through the carefully wrapped paper and swiftly unbox her present.

It was a mint green robe and ugg slippers.

“To keep here. So you don’t have to keep wearing my clothes,” Ethan said as she inspected them.

MC turned to him with a smirk, “What if I like wearing your clothes?”

“I prefer you wearing nothing. Which will be easier to do in this.”

She smiled brightly and leaned over to kiss him.

She turned back to the items and started taking off the tags. She didn’t say a single thing and Ethan was nervous.

Maybe she wasn’t there yet? They’d only been officially together for a few months. To Ethan, here and now, it feels like the sentiment is coming years too late.

AS MC was trying the items on, Ethan’s card with his confession was lost in the rubbish - peeking out under tore wrapping paper.

He let her have her moment and started cleaning everything up. Throwing away the scrap paper and folding the box into the recycling bin. Then Ethan sat back down, taking the closed card in his hands.

“How do I look?” she spun around in front of the wide windows still oblivious.

All he did was give her a half-hearted smile.

MC sensed something was off now. So she skipped over, pushed his arms apart and aside, and stood between his legs.

“Thank you,” she kissed him again. Tenderly. Lightly. Like they had all the time in the world.

Ethan didn’t let up on his grasp of the card.

When they broke for air MC plopped on his knee, cuddling against his chest, and took it from him.

Staring at the super cliché front she asked rhetorically, “When’d you become such a sap?”

He nuzzled into her and held his breath.

She opened the white paper and read the small note that ended with the heaviest sentiment;

I love you. Forever. Always. Evermore. Yours, Ethan x

She looked over at him with parted lips. Utter shock. So much love in her eyes. Finally.

“I love you,” he whispered

“I love you so much,” she replied just as softly.

Rafael

MC had a looong hectic day at the hospital. She ended up staying an extra three hours on top of her 12 hour shift. As much as she wanted to sleep she still wanted to see Raf.

The second she stepped through the threshold of Rafael’s studio apartment he knew she needed to rest. She had bags do deep under her eyes, the color was muted from her face and her hair was a mess.

She shut the door and found her way right into his waiting arms.

Just his smell was enough to lull her into a sense of peace. Her body became jelly in his arms.

“C’mon, lets go to bed,” he whispered into her hair after placing a kiss there.

She didn’t protest.

All MC wanted to do was sleep, even if it meant unintentionally ruining their plans for dinner.

Rafael didn’t mind. He dragged her by the limp arms across the studio and to the bed, her eyes hooded and losing the fight.

He pulled back the covers and she fell right in, on her side, where she belonged. He smiled at how cute she looked before tucking her in and walking around to climb in behind her.

He wrapped himself around her and she melted into their embrace; his muscular arm the best pillow, his heat on her back relaxing her muscles, and his other arm wrapped around her waist keeping her safe.

MC was on the brink of sleep when she felt his lips above the shell of her ear.

"I love you”

It was soft and laden and if she could muster an ounce of strength she’d roll over and tell him it’s always been him.

She’d say it back first thing in the morning.

Check in on my (not very realistic) wish list for episode 141

1. Blooming Grove Clay family reunion! Hugs and tears! Home-cooked meal and tea! Much needed relaxation and downtime after saving the world.

Ay that was a nice meal and a good night’s sleep.

2. Widogast’s Nascent Nein (9!) Sided Tower because Caleb still has a spell slot for that! So many cats and books. Also, rooms for Essek and Molly (9!). Bonus: seeing more rooms on the 8th floor of the tower?

Oof well thanks Trent now we don’t get to see the tower again, ever. I’m 100% sure that Essek will see his room during the Aeorian study fun times and Luc and Yeza will see their rooms in magical summer camp with professor Widogast though, so I’m happy.

3. Check in and visiting Allura to return her staff and Kima’s Holy Avenger (”hey we saved the world killed Lucien stopped the city Allura are you proud of us? You are? Tell us who is on the Tal’Dorei council.”)

They mentioned it, but they didn’t play it out, unfortunately. Alas, the members of the Tal’Dorei council shall forever remain a mystery.

4. Check in and visiting Yussa and Wensforth to apologize for their last visit to the Tidepeak Tower and using his emergency exit plan, but Yussa being too grateful to be saved from a screaming city hivemind to care.

Yep, thank you Caleb for remembering Yussa lol. Should have known that he would want to study the Happy Fun Ball... Wizards sharing knowledge, how nice! Also, Veth’s goodbye to Wensforth was very sweet.

5. Molly getting more and more of his memory back and slowly becoming his old flamboyant self.

I... wow I mean I guess Kingsley? This technically happened? He is going to become someone new, which is always exciting! He got a lot of... interesting memories back too. He is also interested in learning about Molly’s memory too, even though he is somebody else (and just as flamboyant).

6. Caleb says goodbye to Frumpkin and there is either a sweet farewell or Frumpkin just goes “nah fam I choose my wizard you can’t get rid of me”.

Aw Frumpkin didn’t feel ready to leave at first... :( The actual farewell was indeed short and sweet, I loved it.

7. Beau and Yasha moments, conversations, fun times, shameless PDA, or potentially fade to black because they deserve it.

Camping outside at night, aw. Their moment after the Zeenoth trial was very touching as well! “Yes, my love?” and “my Expositor” lol how romantic they are. They are planning to settle down and explore Yasha’s past together! Their honeymoon little trip! Also, “I will have you and then some” was indeed hot.

8. Jester and Fjord being domestic, adorable and sharing kisses/conversations or potentially fade to black because they deserve it.

The sleep snuggle was soo cute and Jester’s love admission was adorable! Also the rain and double confession wow Fjord what a romantic man. Their conversation in Nicodranas was sooo cute guys. They planned boat trips!

9. Caleb and Essek have a long one-on-one conversation about their “it’s complicated” relationship and have some more physical contact (still reeling from the forehead touch last episode).

Caleb attempting to include Essek in the globe of invulnerability and Essek dragging Caleb away from melee combat aw. The kiss on the cheek and the empathetic hug... I will take the time travel conversation as well.

10. Veth, Yeza and Luc’s joyful/tearful family reunion and happy fun times in which Veth and Yeza may or may not celebrate in private.

Aw that was a nice reunion, so very cute. Veth gets to fully return home to her family after saying goodbye! I’m going to assume that she celebrates her return with Yeza in private.

11. Cad’s moments with his family and also with Molly (because it’s fun to watch them on screen together and conversing let’s be real).

Caduceus gets to be with his family now, enjoying life at the blooming grove! He deserves the relaxation!

12. Jester’s reunion with her mother with big hugs and finding out that parent trap TM has succeeded thanks to her genius plans. Also, the gentleman being a super awkward but loving dad.

Yes I knew it would work! The gentleman is a nervous drinker confirmed lol. The mother-daughter talk was very nice and a great reminder!

13. The Mighty Nein plans for the future: getting rid of Cloven Crystal, Fjord visiting Vandran (with Jester probably, who discusses Tusk Love with him) and maybe Sabian? Yasha’s plan to bring flower to Zuala (trip with Beau?). Beau’s plans regarding Zeenoth’s trial (has that happend yet? Does she want to go?) and Caleb’s plans for the assembly (or even further ahead, magical school? Aeorian research with Kryn Colleague? How pissed is Ludinus Da’leth?)

Well, the empire siblings sure started a task force against the assembly huh. Also yeah Caleb you tell him, F**k your vacancy Martinet Ludinus Da’leth! Professor Caleb will teach Luc. Astrid would be more interested in the position anyways. Fjord got to visit Vandran with Jester and got him to join their sailing adventures! Jester also talks about Tusk Love with him wow. Beau testified against Zeenoth with Yasha by her side! Yasha gave flowers to Zuala on a trip with Beau! Caleb and Essek got to do their Aeorian research study! Fjord’s cloven crystal adventure was also addressed! I’m so good at predictions you guys I KID YOU NOT I predicted everything.

14. Getting an update about Astrid and Eadwulf to find out that they are in fact doing fine because Trent is in deep trouble and under heavy investigation by the Augen Trust and Cobalt Soul (bonus: Trent is already starting to get what he deserves. Or even better, Trent has died from liver failure in jail. Like his jaundice really kept getting worse so one can hope I guess?)

F**k you Trent, you just had to show up and ruin everything didn’t you. Well, Astrid and Eadwulf are fne now, and Trent IS in deep trouble and rotting in jail. Still hoping that he will die from liver failure after like, a few years.

15. Fjord officially “meeting the parents” and Gentleman/Marion giving Fjord the shovel talk because that didn’t happen last time.

Aw he didn’t go with! But the gentleman did talk about Fjord anyways lol and gave her some sound advice.

16. Wedding mentions/discussions? Proposals? Anyone? No?

Well Jester proposed to marry... her parents? Lol did not see that one coming. Veth and Yeza renewing vows yes! It was a nice suggestion.

17. Artagan/sprinkle joins in the celebration because why not (bonus: Sprinkle gets to be free! Or whatever an undead weasel could be lmao)

Artagan and Jester’s conversation was very nice development for them. Sprinkle gets to stay forever, unfortunately for Sprinkle lol.

18. Obligatory wish for Essek’s fancy dunamancy or magical items (like I know we will never see dark star probably but I live for spell casting flavours).

Essek’s hold person on Trent was clutch, “stay down”, what a king. The tether essence, lightning bolt and gravity sinkhole were all wonderful. Still sad about the dark star never being seen though.

19. Obligatory wish for the polymorph spell (look, I just love it okay).

Hey, Jester threatened Astrid with it! Polymorph mention wins! Fjord was sad about the potential choice of turning her into a turtle but it would have been funny.

20. Obligatory wish for Caleb to use more fire/customized/dunamantic spells creatively or with nice flair (what’s sexier than wizards NOTHING).

What’s sexier than counterspells and dispel magic NOTHING. Also hey, the manacles of stasis worked!

21. Discussion about Essek’s future because oh boy can he even go back to the Dynasty? Have they found him out yet? If they did, how mad is the Bright Queen? Are Volstruckers too busy to chase him down? We need to know!

Oh man I mean Essek found a way to live freely at least! With a lot of illusions and identities, of course. He also got to stay in contact with the M9! I think he may show up in campaign 3!

22. Group hug! Group feast! Group cheer! I dunno, just do group stuff. They are the Mighty Nein, they are the Mighty Nine, they saved the world!

A lot of group hugs and feasts! I especially loved the hug when they said goodbye to Essek.

23. Visiting/checking in with other NPCs or allies potentially! Like Kiri, Calianna, Twiggy, Keg, Shakasta, Bryce, Dagen oh also the Hag (I’m kidding).

They checked in with Orly! Not these allies but you know, Orly is awesome.

24. Obligatory wish for everyone (the Nein, their friends/families) to get a happy ending that gives me a feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment, and that the episode/campaign ends with a poetically beautiful scene!

Yes, it was a very poetic and very beautiful story indeed

I love the Mighty Nein/Nine, I love the cast. I’m so grateful for their story in my life. Words are not enough to describe my thankfulness for being able to go on this journey with them.

Now excuse me I just need to go sob in a corner.

Other Highlights:

Caleb hit 100 HP OMG I too am proud of him.

Well I didn’t expect the boss fight but I’m glad we are getting one?

Caleb’s produce flame was used by Veth on Fluffernutter, nice!

The Veth + Beau putting collar combo was the coolest thing I’ve ever seen, also there is something poetic about Caleb relying entirely on his friends and Astrid to carry out the collar tactic on Trent.

The forced empathy commands by Cad lmao wow angry Cad is scary, too bad Trent didn’t have any.

Veth’s silent image... Caleb disintegrating and burning everything in the T-dock... Caleb’s book for his parents... Professor Widogast... Excuse me I’m going to cry now.

Top 9 Favourite MaasVerse Couples

I did a favourites list of couples in the Shadowhunter universe last year that was really fun so I thought I would do one with all of the couples from Sarah J. Maas’ universe, especially after reading A Court of Silver Flames (review coming soon). Because of all that and given that Sarah J. Maas never fails to be sneaky with which guy the main character ends up with in the end, this favourites list will be full of spoilers. So like before, the top couples all are couples that for sure end up together, while the honorable mentions are couples that I like or ones that I think would be good together or who I want to be together.

Honorable Mentions

To start off we have character couples that I love but don’t know enough about to be super invested.

Amren & Varian- from ACOTAR. I just think that they are so cute and I love Amren and I’m so happy that she has someone who is there for her. I also think Varian is an interesting character who is the perfect balance for Amren’s intensity, also at all the family gatherings with Varian there, he just feels like the typical come-home-for-christmas-with-a-guy boyfriend who the family gets to know, but also plays around with because he’s new (don’t know if that makes sense, but if you’ve ever had a sibling or cousin bring a partner home for the holidays to a joking-around type family then you’ll get it).

Kallias & Viviane- from ACOTAR. Also don’t know a lot about them, but for the few interactions we see of them, I think they are super cute! The other courts always intrigued me, but especially the Winter Court because I love snow and I also love how close Kallias, Viviane, Rhysand, and Morrigan are (especially Viviane and Mor). I just think it’s so nice that they have other friends in other courts, and again they just seem sweet.

Juniper Andromeda & Fury Axtar- from Crescent City. We only find out that they are a couple near the end, but from the few times we see them together, I think Juniper and Fury are adorable. Fury is just that super badass bitch that I love to see vulnerable in a couple. I just like seeing that badass girls can still have a very raw and human side, especially when they are with their significant other. Also Juniper was always a favourite minor character throughout the book because she’s such a good friend to Bryce. I can’t wait to see more of them as a couple in the next books!

Next I have people who I want to end up together:

Ruhn Danaan & Hypaxia Enador- from Crescent City. I thought Ruhn and the mediwitch had a great amount of chemistry, and when it was revealed that she was actually the young Queen Hypoxia of the witches, I was so excited! I feel like her and Ruhn will end up together, and because I love Ruhn and just want to see him happy, I think that the two of them as a couple would be great!

Morrigan & Emerie- from ACOTAR (more specifically ACOSF). When Emerie saw Mor in the latest book, I giggled so hard! I think the two of them would be adorable and it’s high time that Mor got a new love interest who will make her happy. (I also really want Emerie to be happy now that I’ve gotten to know her more as a character, and I do think the two of them would work really well together!)

Elain & Lucien // Azriel & Gwyneth- from ACOTAR. This next one I won’t talk a lot about because I’m saving it for the review for ACOSF, but just so you know what side of the debate I’m on, I really do think Lucien and Elain would be good together if Elain gave him a chance, and now since reading the special edition short story about Azriel at the end of ACOSF, I ship Azriel and Gwyn together. (Although I’ll honestly be happy with whoever ends up together as long as all the characters are happy!)

Nyx & Unborn Child of Rowaelin- from ACOTAR and Throne of Glass. I saw this post one day of someone shipping Nyx (Rhys and Feyre’s son), and the unborn daughter of Rowan and Aelin, I fangirled so hard! No matter if Rowan and Aelin have a girl or boy first, I already ship them so hard with Nyx. We already know that Nyx would have been born during the time of the war at the end of Kingdom of Ash (because Aelin fell through the worlds and saw pregnant Feyre and Rhys standing during Winter Solstice) so if Aelin and Rowan had a child not long after, they would be close to the same age, and because of that moving between worlds moment, we know that’s it’s possible for the two kids to meet one day. (Also I have a theory that what happens in the Crescent City books will tie into the possibility of world jumping because it’s already talked about in there how most species in Crescent City came from different worlds, so yay!) I know that this is all just wishful thinking, but I think that would be the cutest thing Nyx being together with Rowaelin’s child! Let me believe what I want to.

9. Nesryn Faliq & Sartaq

This list was so hard to make and I’m sad that these two are so low on it, but I just couldn’t get them any higher! At any rate, I loved these two during Tower of Dawn and when they ended up together I was ecstatic! First of all, I think Sartaq would be an amazing Khagan of the Southern Continent and he’s honestly the only real good one of his siblings. Him and Nesryn leading the Southern Continent will be amazing and I love the way that they bonded over riding the ruks. I do wish that we got to see them even more, but considering all of the characters and storylines, I was still satisfied with the development of their relationship and themselves as characters (just want more content with anything from the Throne of Glass series because I know it’s over and that makes me sad!)

8. Dorian Havilliard & Manon Blackbeak

Next is another couple that I love so much but had to put lower on the list because there are just too many great couples in the Sarah J. Maas universe! I never thought that Dorian and Aelin (or Celaena at the time) would be good together, but was absolutely heartbroken when Sorsha died. BUT that death did lead to so much sexual tensions between Dorian and Manon that it was all worth it! I love these two because, again, it is so nice to see a badass female character also have a loving side, but also seems pretty “dominant” (for a lack of better word) in the relationship. I think Manon and Dorian are so great together, and their banter and cute nicknames (Princeling and Witchling) just gave me life! Even though the end of Kingdom of Ash left me completely shattered, I was very happy that Dorian and Manon still had each other, and I think the two of them will be great monarchs in their separate kingdoms, but also together.

7. Elide Lochan & Lorcan Salvaterre

Another amazing couple from the Throne of Glass series! Even though Lorcan was kind of an asshole when you first met him, when he and Elide had their whole adventure together, I fell in love with the two (especially Lorcan). I love a good “bad” boy “good” girl trope, and Lorcan and Elide were definitely that perfect fit. The way that Lorcan cared so much for Elide while they had to travel together was really cute, and I was so happy to see how Lorcan softened up and Elide became strong as well. It was nice that they still weren’t the typical weak girl, always rescued by the strong Fae. Lorcan and Elide made each other show the world their other sides as well.

6. Nesta Archeron & Cassian

This couple I have a lot of thoughts and feelings about but most of that will be in my ACOFS review coming soon, but for now I will just say that I LOVE them! We always knew that Nesta and Cassian were probably going to end up together, but still their journey as individuals and a couple was so fantastic to read. The way that the two of them helped each other out in terms of mental health while still being the individually strong characters was so good to see. Their sexual tension was great to read, and I loved the way that their whole story arc developed through the book.

5. Chaol Westfall & Yrene Towers

Again, I loved these two so much probably because they had their own book practically dedicated to them. I loved Chaol in the first two books from the Throne of Glass series, but like most people, I lost that love as the series went on. Going into Tower of Dawn I was really worried that I wasn’t going to like it because of Chaol being the central character, but like always, Sarah J. Maas writes such good redemption and flawed character arcs that it was impossible not to love Chaol again, and the woman who brought the light back to him. Similarly, I really liked Yrene when we first met her in The Assassin’s Blade stories (The Assassin and the Healer), and I was so happy that we got to learn more about her in the whole Tower of Dawn book. The way that Chaol and Yrene went from hating each other to falling in love was done absolutely perfectly, and by Kingdom of Ash when we found out that Yrene was pregnant, I almost threw my book in happiness, I was so excited. This couple is well deserving of the number five spot!

4. Aedion Ashryver & Lysandra

Now we have another favourite couple from the Throne of Glass series (that series is just so big and full of characters, most of the people on this list are from there). I really loved the idea of Aedion and Lysandra from the beginning when we start to see Lysandra play a bigger role in the series. Again, it’s the banter between these two characters that gets me every time, and the way they make fun of each other while also flirting is just so great to read. I was a little worried about what was going to happen to their relationship in Kingdom of Ash, especially since everything was going so well in Empire of Storms and then ended so badly at the end, but knowing that they got married almost immediately after the war was exactly what I needed. Also I LOVED Aedion with Evangeline and all their interactions, which was also why I knew that Aedion had to end up with Lysandra. Every time a kid comes into the picture I feel like I ship that couple just a bit harder. The three of them make the most perfect family.

3. Bryce Quinlan & Hunt Athalar

I know that technically we don’t know for sure if these two will be endgame, but if they aren’t I will sob and never forgive SJM! I love these two with all my heart and the only reason that they are in number three (and not higher!) is because we only have one book with them. I would not be surprised if they went up higher on my list after the next books come out. First of all, their sexual tension is fabulous. Second, I just adored how they both helped each other health through the book and how they went through so much together emotionally. I feel like that made the strongest foundation for a relationship, and if that foundation breaks, I think I might just dig myself a hole and stay there. While both are strong characters separately, they are just so much better together! Every scene of them was like magic, and they were the whole reason I could stop reading HOEAB. I need the next books so badly, just because I need to see them together more!

2. Aelin Ashryver Galathynius & Rowan Whitethorn

Finally at the top two, and this decision was probably the hardest one I’ve ever had to make. I love both Rowaelin and Feysand so much, this was impossible to decide, but it came down to the fact that out of every SJM book, A Court of Mist and Fury is my favourite. That book is a f*cking masterpiece and the reason for that is because of Feysand. So Rowaelin is second. Aelin and Rowan are amazing characters individually, but like the reason for all of these favourite couples, the journey that they go on together and help each other through, is what makes them so special and so strong as a couple. Rowan helped Aelin in a way that Chaol or Dorian never could, and Aelin in turn helped Rowan through centuries of pain just because they understood each other so well. The best and strongest part of all these couples is that they became friends first, before going into a romantic relationship (except for Nessian a couple others, but you know what I mean). Being able to create a strong bond before anything physical is so important with these characters, especially helping them get through so much trauma, and ultimately seeing that growth on the page connects you so much more with them as a couple. Seeing these characters go through so much together was really what made me love them to this degree (which is a high degree) which is also why I’m having a hard time believing that their stories are done. I will always need more Rowaelin content.

1. Feyre Archeron & Rhysand

And now we’re at the top. Like I just said, this was a hard decision, but it also feels so right. Feyre and Rhysand had an amazing development as a couple through the books, and A Court of Mist and Fury is definitely my favourite SJM book precisely because we see their relationship develop. I am beyond happy that we aren’t at the end of the ACOTAR world and we get to see more Feysand in the years and books to come, because I am not ready at all to say goodbye yet. Just thinking of Feyre and Rhys’ lives now (especially with Nyx) brings a smile to my face, and I think that it's amazing how an author and a book can do that. Both Feyre and Rhysand’s characters are so strong and their journeys were so heart wrenching to follow but so worth it at the same time. There is really nothing bad I can say about this couple, besides the fact that I want to thank Sarah J. Maas for writing such great characters, and I can’t wait to see more to come!

Open Heart : Third Year Chapter 3

I feel like this chapter was definitely more of a filler chapter for the storylines but I did really enjoy it and again I loved the patient in this chapter. Especially the superhero scene. So heartwarming!

So it began with the team discussing the new patient. Mc walked in and saw Harper and Ethan reminiscing about a time together from when they were in a relationship. As soon as I saw this I was about to scream because I thought PB were still trying to force this whole jealously storyline on us, but then we got a diamond scene with Harper and I loved it. It finally cleared everything up and now they better be best friends because Harper is my fave. “A smile lingering on his lips”. Ethan is such a simp and I love it. The way Mc genuinely makes him so happy, like they are the most adorable couple ever. I can not.

I like that Mc and Harper finally got to work on a case together as a duo. I feel as though this chapter was based mainly on trying to develop their relationship more, which I like because since she has joined the diagnostics team we haven’t really spent any time together. Suzette was an angel. I loved her character so much but her story was so sad. First she had to suffer from cancer and now this.

Then we went to give Suzette a scan and we were met with this robot thing. I really do not know how I feel about Bloom’s new inventions all over the place. It seems like he’s looking at this hospital as more of an investment for his financial gain and not a way to help patients and medicine advance. I hate him so much. To be honest I thought the robot Binx was kinda cute. It is defo a way for Bloom to be listening in on our conversations though. Wouldn’t be surprised if he has placed mics into plant plots around the hospital. The next diamond scene was one of my faves from the book so far (yes I know we are only on chapter 3 but still). The main reason was because we finally got more of an insight into Ethan and Harpers relationship. I picked the option to find out more about Ethan and Harper and not because I am jealous. I did it because I’m truly just curious on how their relationship was and why they broke up. Let me tell you I am so happy that Harper is more of a main character in this book, because I adore her character so much. It is really nice to see this nicer and more sweet side to her now she isn’t in charge. I completely understand they are exes and feelings don’t just go away, also it takes Ethan sooooo long to open up ( as we know ) and obviously he opened to Harper so I think its sweet they are still close. Honestly, Harper giving us the confidence boost and talking about how good Mc has been for the team was so heartwarming. PB better make them besties right now. And when she said she is glad we made it through his hearing. We don’t deserve her kindness.

Raf and Bryce stans now rise. WOW! The shirtless scene with the boys playing basketball. Im romancing Ethan but I cant say I didn’t enjoy it XD. I didn’t pick the diamond scene with Bryce because I don’t want anything romantic with him but let me tell you I am so happy that everyone is being treated equally. This is what we like to see. I actually can’t believe they were thinking of removing Raf. Imagine.

Actually don’t because he is too precious.

Telling Suzette that there was nothing we could do for her was so sad. She didn’t deserve that. So obviously to help her I picked the diamond scene. It wasn’t the best scene but it was the cutest and worth the diamonds in my eyes. The costumes and us acting out a scene for the children in the hospital was so so so sweet. I didn’t really get any pictures of the interactions with the children because I was enjoying the scene too much. But it was really nice to see Mc doing what she does best. Making people happy. Mc is honestly the best doctor ever. No one can tell me anything different.

Leland freaking Bloom. This guy. I will happily volunteer to kill him. Modern problems need modern solutions. Ethans sarcastic comment about knocking instead of walking in was everything. I love angry Ethan. Almost as much as I love jealous Ethan. I just love him but anywaysss... I mean don’t get me wrong I like that we are researching her condition and hopefully finding a way to help her but still. And I love her character but something is telling me he is doing this for all the wrong reasons.

The money.

The popularity.

Not to actually find a cure for her illness. I HATED his comment about it being his hospital and we have to follow his rules if we want to continue working here. For some reason I feel like that’s foreshadowing that some people are going to end up quitting because of him. And I swear if its any of our friends I will riot.

Like I said I think that this chapter was more of a filler for the storyline but honestly I really enjoyed it especially since we finally got to clear up this whole Harper issue. Well I wouldn’t even call it an issue, we were being forced to dislike her which I have said previously will not happen. I am thoroughly enjoying Book 3 so far and I’m super excited for the rest of the book!!!

Does Meera have any other siblings apart from Abhimanyu? What is their age difference?

No. Abhimanyu is her only sibling, but she has a lot of cousins tho and also a few of them to whom she is particularly close.

The age difference between her and Abhimanyu is around 4 years (3 years and 10 months to be exact)

Where does her family live? Is it in Boston or somewhere near or in India?

Majority of her family lives in India. Abhimanyu lives in Australia with his family for work. One of her cousin lives in New York and that is the closest family member (in terms of distance) to Meera.

What is Ethan's relationship like with her family?

Ethan was actually pretty nervous about meeting Meera's parents when he learnt how big these things are in Indian households, but he is one charismatic man and his natural charm eventually wins everyone over.

I can see him becoming close with her father fast, (fun fact Meera's dad is the cooler of both her parents) bonding over their love for Meera and sharing embarrassing stories of her, also both of them try to learn more of each other's language to communicate better.

On the other hand I see Meera's mom showing a bit more resistance and protectiveness towards her daughter. But gradually she sees Ethan's love for Meera and becomes the mother, Louise was never to him.

The age difference wasn't a big factor for her parents although some relatives did try to make a big deal out of it but niether Meera and Ethan, nor her parents paid any heed to it.

Who is he closest to in her family? (Like for my Ethan, he is closest to Di's didun and her brother)

Ethan is closest to her brother Abhimanyu and her cousin sister Debolina (the one who lives in New York).

I HC Abhi first being protective about Meera like any older brother, especially during books one and two. He was so angry with Ethan for mistreating his baby sister that he had tried to convince Meera to let go of Ethan and find her own happiness.

But eventually as the two became serious Abhi found a friend in Ethan and so did Ethan. Meera was surprised and disappointed to know they also made plans that didn't include or revolve around her.

Debolina and Meera were amazingly close for cousins. This was because she was born to a single mother (Meera's maternal aunt) in the US itself. Her mother had a bright career and often found it difficult juggling Debolina as well as her work.

So when Debolina was three her mother brought her back to India and asked Meera's mother to bring her up. Meera and Lina (that's what she is known as better) was raised as siblings for the next fifteen years.

Lina moved to New York to study fasion three to four years prior to Meera moving to Boston. She is officially the first family member to meet Ethan in flesh. (Abhi was first via video call)

Ethan soon became fond of her and gradually became her unofficial big brother and local guardian. They were so close that she was one of the people he included in Meera's super secret proposal plan alongwith Sienna and her childhood bestfriend.

Also I plan on putting Lina and Bryce together but I have no damn idea on how! 😂

Water Park Shenanigans

REQUEST:

If you're taking requests, may I ask: could you possibly write y/n and Sapnap, George, and Dream all going to a water park for the day? Choose whoever you enjoy writing the most to be shipped with our character.

You sigh, looking at the three bathing suits you brought with you laid out on your Airbnb bed. The first one is a cute yellow printed bikini, the second a red hot one piece with the sides cut out, and the third a simple black bikini. You weren’t sure which one to pick. On one hand, you wanted to looked super fucking hot so that Nick would finally notice you, but on the other hand you didn’t want to spend the whole day feeling insecure. You hum slightly, before finally saying fuck it and grabbing the simple black bikini. You grabbed your yellow cover up, that way if you were feeling strange you could throw it on. You quickly changed in your private bathroom, throwing your hair up, before finally joining the three boys in the living room.

“Finally!!!” Clay groaned, standing from his seat on the couch. “You take forever to get ready.”

You giggled, rolling your eyes. “Okay, Mr. make us 15 minutes late for our reservations just so your hair could look perfect.”

Clay gasps, clutching his heart in feigned pain. “I had to look good for the press.” He jokes.

Nick gets up from his seat on the couch, having spent your and Clay’s conversation texting rapidly. You frowned slightly.

The four of you had planned this trip a month ago, excited to finally meet up and get into all sorts of trouble. But ever since you arrived yesterday, Nick had been distant and on his phone practically the entire time. You had complained to George about his behavior, but he did nothing to help your mood. Instead joking that maybe Nick was just so intimidated by your good looks.

“Okay, okay, let’s go. We’re not going to have enough time to ride the waterslides.” George complains, putting on his shoes and grabbing the sunblock.

“Ohhh no. There will be no waterslides for me. I will enjoy my day in the sun and the wave pool.” You warn them, looking at George with a raised eyebrow.

Clay looks over at Nick sharply, leaving you confused. “Wait, you’re not going to be riding the waterslides?” He asks you.

“Helllll no. I don’t fuck with heights. Man is not made to leave the ground like that.” You tell him confidently, walking to the car with your bag for the day. You’re sure the boys will fill your bag with their own personal items, so you were sure to bring an extra large one.

Nick laughs at you, making eye contact. You swear it was only the second time he’s made eye contact with you in the span of a day. “Aww poor baby is scared of heights?” He teases you.

You roll your eyes, ignoring the butterflies that came with him calling you baby. “Yeah, yeah. Make fun of the defenseless girl.” You complain, getting into the backseat after Clay calls driving and George practically throws himself into the passenger seat.

Nick sits reluctantly next to you, the dislike for you practically radiating from his body. You frown slightly for the second time. Does he really find you so repulsive that he can’t even sit next to you for a 40 minute car ride?

Nick spends the whole car ride on his phone, as expected as you and Clay bicker back and forth about how he’s definitely not going to push you in the water.

You enjoy a nice relaxing day at the waterpark, loving to go around the lazy river about 50 times and jumping in the shallow end of the wave pool. The boys on the other hand, prefer to spend their day chaotically, going down every waterslide at least once.

When you arrive at the waterpark, Nick immediately gets out of the car, barely even waiting for Clay to put it into park. Tears begin to brim at your eyes, obviously your crush is not reciprocated.

The four of you walk into the waterpark and you sniffle away any tears that try to come out. George doesn’t fail to notice your mood and puts a reassuring hand on your lower back, trying to comfort you silently.

When you see all the waterslides, your eyes go wide. They’re even taller than you could have imagined. Clay finds a perfect spot for the four of you to put your things, four lawn chairs set up next to each other. You all lay your towels out on the chairs, Nick putting his next to yours. You ignore it, assuming he’s letting Clay and George lay next to each other.

“Okay so first we’re going to go on the Ultimate Wedgie then…” Clay begins to list off all the rides that the four of you are going on. Your stomach begins to tie into knots as you try to desperately come up with an excuse not to go on them.

As he’s talking, you strip off your coverup for the first time and you hear a sharp intake of a breath. You look up to see Nick staring at you, but he quickly averts his gaze when he notices you looking at him. Blush rushes up your neck and onto the tips of your ears as you start to feel a little self conscious.

“Wow, (Y/N), you look amazing!” George compliments you as he takes off his shirt and shoes. You giggle, tucking a piece of loose hair behind your ear.

“T-thanks George…” You mumble, looking at Nick again to see him staring down George.

“No really, you look bomb in that swimsuit.” George continues, smiling slightly.

“Okay, we get it, George! She looks hot. You don’t need to go on about it.” Nick snaps, crossing his arms, noticeably still wearing his shirt and shoes.

Clay glances up at him with furrowed brows. What the hell was that? You wonder, biting your lip.

“I, uh… I’m going to go grab us some floaties. Maybe we can go on the lazy river first?” You ask, your voice soft as you make your way to the inflatable tube kiosk. You hear Clay arguing with Nick, but their voices are too distant for you to make out what they’re saying. You cover your stomach slightly as you walk, feeling a little self conscious in front of all the drop dead gorgeous girls.

You finally reach the kiosk, with a very attractive man running it. You smile at him, “Hi there. Can I get four single tubes?”

He smiles at you. “Anything for such a pretty lady.” You blush, thanking him quietly.

He comes back with two singles and one double. “Unfortunately, though, we only have two singles and a double. Is that okay?” He asks you handing the tubes across the counter. You nod, biting the inside of your cheek. George and Clay will probably use the double. You’re sure they won’t mind.

“So, is a little thing like yourself single?” The man asks you once you grab the tube. You laugh, glancing back at Nick and Clay who are still arguing.

“Uh… yeah. Yeah I am.” You tell him, your resolve hardening to get over your silly crush on Nick.

The man smiles, reaching his hand out to shake yours. “Well then, my name is Bryce. It is very nice to meet you.”

You blush and shake his hand. “Likewise, Bryce.”

“Can I get your number?” Bryce asks you, flashing his pearly whites.

“No you can’t, actually.” You hear Nick say, coming up behind you. You jump slightly at his possessive tone and look over at him. He looks furious. He grabs the two of the tubes from your hands gently before turning back to Bryce. “She’s taken.”

Bryce holds up his hands, showing that he is not looking for a fight. “No worries man, she just said that she wasn’t though, so I’d get your girl if I was you.”

Nick turns away from the booth, stalking back to George and Clay. You quickly rush after him, muttering a soft apology to Bryce before you go.

“What the hell was that, Nick?” You ask him once you reach the group, struggling to carry the double tube on your own.

Nick shrugs, refusing to meet your eyes.

“Wait, what happened?” Clay asks, looking between the two of you.

“Well, the kiosk dude asked me for my number and….”

“And you were going to give it to him!” Nick interrupts. “Why would give a stranger your number!”

You scoff, “Actually I wasn’t going to. But thank god I had someone strong and mighty to come save me from the interaction.”

Clay’s eyebrows raise as he looks over at George. The two of them slowly turn and walk away, muttering something about getting a drink. You’re not entirely sure, you’re too focused on Nick as your blood boils.

“Have I done something to you?! Killed your parents or maybe your cat?!” You ask him, crossing your arms as you stare at him with your brows furrowed together. “Obviously I must have committed quite a crime, because you can’t even make eye contact with me!”

Nick scoffs, rolling his eyes. “Yes I can!”

“Then do it!” You yell, catching the attention of the nearby family before smiling at them apologetically. “Then do it.” You repeat, softer so as to not disturb them again.

Nick looks up at you, something so strong in your eyes that it makes your breath catch in your throat. “You didn’t do anything.” He tells you, his voice soft yet firm.

You take a step closer to him. “Then why the hell have you been acting like I shouldn’t have come on this trip.”

He takes a step closer to you. “You- You….Ugh!” He groans, pulling at his hair slightly. “You just don’t get it. You’re here in that-that bikini and… I just can’t.” He tells you, walking away to go join George and Clay, you assume.

You plop down on your lawn chair, tears threatening to spill over as you throw on your cover up.

After ten minutes, George, Clay, and Nick return, drinks in hand. Nick thrusts out a lemonade to you, a peace offering you assume. You shake your head, not wanting his pity drink. He shakes it again, not looking at you.

“I don’t want the fucking drink.” You tell him, pushing it away.

“Stop being stubborn, just take it.” He whispers, making eye contact with you finally. Your mouth straightens into a line as you take a deep breath and take it from him. You’re pissed, because it’s your favorite drink. You remembering tell him that a while ago when you two actually talked. It hurts slightly thinking about your dynamic before the trip. The two of you would stay up all night talking on face time until you inevitably fell asleep on him. You would share secrets and jokes, you would tell him all about your parent’s and their cripplingly expectations of you. He would even bare his soul to you in return, whispering about the pressure that came with being in the public eye. Why couldn’t you two be this close now? Why did coming on this trip change that? You had this wild fantasy of him falling in love with you on the trip like you had so long ago. Obviously that wasn’t going to be happening.

You sip the drink, enjoying the cool refreshment as you lay out, closing your eyes slightly.

“Okay, George and I are going to go on some rides. Are you sure you don’t want to come, (Y/N)?” You smile, cracking one eye to look at Clay in the sun.

“I’m absolutely positive, I don’t feel like dying today. Maybe when you’re done with a few rides, we can go on the lazy river?” You ask him, hoping he’ll say yes.

Nick sits down next to you, “I’ll stay. You guys go have fun.” That stuns you, you look over at him with raised eyebrows but he was looking at Clay.

Clay and George nod, walking off to go on the Ultimate Wedgie or some other death defying ride as you lay back down, closing your eyes.

“Why did you put the coverup back on?” Nick asks softly, causing you to look over at him. He’s laying in the sun with his eyes closed. He looks so peaceful.

You scoff slightly. “I figured it would be better this way. Obviously you didn’t want to see me in my bathing suit.” You spit out, closing your eyes once again.

“Why would you say that?” Nick asks, opening his eyes as to leans onto his side to look at you.

“How could I not?” You tell him, keeping your eyes closed so that he wouldn’t see the tears that were starting to fill your eyes. You refuse to look at him. “You made it oh so clear.”

He groans as you hear him lay back. “I didn’t mean it like that… (Y/N), you just…”

“Don’t get it? I think I get it clear enough, Nick. You don’t like me. Obviously I was just making things up in my mind.” You lean your head away from him, sure that your cheeks are red from your proclamation that you did indeed like him.

Nick sits up, swinging his legs off the lawn chair so he could face you. “What?” He asks shocked.

“Please don’t make me any more embarrassed than I already am. I’m sure you already know.” You tell him, crossing your arms on your chest, hot embarrassment filling your bones.

You feel Nick touch your arm and you finally look over at him. Shock written across his features. “Clay was telling the truth?” He asks softly.

You frown at him. “Clay told you what?”

“That you liked me back.”

You stop short, your mouth open as you were about to defend yourself. Back? What does he mean back? “Wh-what?”

He laughs, rubbing his face with one hand, his other still on your arm. “I’m so fucking stupid,” He mutters to himself. “Clay told me that you liked me back, but I thought you and George had a thing and he was only denying it so I wouldn’t feel bad.”

You sit up, facing him as your knees touch together. “Back?” You whisper, hoping filling your eyes.

“I like you, (Y/N). I like you so fucking much. I just… I got pissed off because of how close you and George seemed. You guys always were whispering together, you sat together in the car ride from the airport. You ate breakfast together… He touched your back when we walked in here. I mean….” He trails off, looking up at you.

“We… We… George was trying to make me feel better because I thought you hated me…” You whisper, looking at him as the third round of tears threaten to break free.

Nick laughs, grabbing your hands. “We are so fucking dumb.” He tells you, pulling you closer to him. You sit next to him on his lawn chair, giggling slightly.

“I like you Nick. I thought you hated me.” You tell him when your giggles finally die down.

Nick shakes his head vehemently, “I could never hate you, (Y/N). I got you your favorite drink.” He motions to the lemonade sitting beside your chair.

You nod, laughing. “You got me my favorite drink.” You agree with him when you see Clay and George walking back awkwardly, soaking wet.

“Holy shit, George are you seeing this?” Clay asks, tapping George’s arms. George gasps.

“Is this real?” He asks Clay, glancing between the blond boy and your interlocked fingers.

You laugh, rolling your eyes at the boys’ antics. “You know we can hear you, right?” You tease them.

“Do you think Nick finally told her that he’s basically in love with her?” George stage whispers to Clay, keeping the bit up.

“Or do you think (Y/N) had to be the one to break the news?” Clay whispers back, a broad smile plastered on to his face.

Nick laughs, throwing Clay’s towel at him. The two boys finally end their bit and the four of you grab your tubes, walking towards the lazy river. Nick carrying the double tube as Clay and George immediately grabbed the two singles. You blush slightly when Nick puts the tube in the water, holding it for you to get in.

The four of you rode the lazy river at least 20 times, you and Nick trailing behind your two friends. The two of you talked about everything and anything, Nick stopping every now and then to compliment you in your bathing suit. It felt exactly how you thought it would, being with him. It felt like those late night facetimes, but instead you got to see him in real time. Nick kept his head on your knee the entire time, refusing to let you go know that everything was in the open.

Author’s Note: Yo, does anyone else miss Bryce Lahela? Yeah same.We all know Bryce is a goddamn king, so it comes as no surprise that he loves Women’s Basketball like a real man should. Bentley Rogers sauntered over to Bryce with a flirtatious smile on her lips. She hadn’t seen him outside of work for a few weeks, and she missed him. As much as she wanted to say she missed Bryce the person, today she was mainly missing Bryce the sex god. She hadn’t enjoyed his “company” outside of work in a long time. And god, was she horny.

So she leaned against the nurses station, batting her eyelashes, “Hey there stud, got any plans for tonight?” she let her hand fall on his forearm, gently stroking it with her long nails.

He laughed, looking down at her trying her best to seduce him, “Ah, actually I do.”

“Well maybe you should take a raincheck . . . because I promise you, it’s guaranteed to be wet. Well, I am.”

“Hmm, you’re doing a good job flirting today, B, but there’s no way to raincheck this one.”

“How can you have plans you can’t raincheck? Do you really not want to spend time with me? I’ve been practicing my breathing in yoga lately, so I can give a blowjob way better than I used to. And if your reactions are anything to go by, I was pretty good before . . . .”

Bentley hadn’t watched a basketball game in ages, but she did recall the Stanford Cardinal had made the National Championship.

“Oh, would you say you’re a bit . . . aggressive?”

“Mmm, you don’t know the half of it,” he leaned down and nipped her lip quickly, so quick no one watching would notice. “But if you want, you and your friends can come watch it at my place.”

“No offense, but your place is super small. What about if you come to my place and we all watch it together, and then after we can have some victory sex?”

“Not an Arizona fan?”

“Not that, just a happy Bryce fan.”

“You’re a good woman, Bentley Rogers.”

“Well, Bryce Lahela, what food can I get for tonight? Anything you want, after all, Bloom doesn’t pay me the big bucks to get you cheap pizza.”

“Mmm, wings, nachos, those types of things. Even bad pizza.”

“Well consider yourself treated. It’s at five, right?”

He nodded, “You don’t have to do this, Bentley. That’s so nice of you.”

“If I’m honest, I’m doing this because I’m horny as fuck and I need you, really bad.”

“So I am just a piece of meat to you, Rogers, aren’t I?”

She laughed, then turned serious, squeezing his forearm, “Not even close.”

Later that night, Bentley had changed into a pair of leggings and a plain red sweatshirt. Every time she had tried to steal Bryce’s Stanford hoodie, he stole it back the next time they slept together. This was one of those times when he had taken it back. She smiled at the thought of getting it back eventually, and then eventually just living in the same place as both Bryce and the hoodie.

But they weren’t official. She had no idea why, he hadn’t brought it up in three years, so maybe he didn’t want it. Even after she almost died, he didn’t make a move to lock it down, but god did she want to. If she was honest, she was in love with him. She had been since the night she met Keiki and he opened up about his life. And maybe, just maybe, after his team won the national championship, it would be a good time to tell him.

She took a seat next to Bryce, who was watching the pregame festivities. Everyone else was in the kitchen, gabbing and eating.

“Nervous?” she asked, taking his hand in hers.

“Yeah. We haven’t won one since 92, and I wasn’t even a fan yet.”

“Were you even alive yet?”

“No.”

“Who is your favorite player?”

Bryce smiled over at her, rambling on about Anna Wilson and Kiana Williams. She listened to him happily. His face was lit up, and she thought it was really cute that he was so excited about this women’s basketball game. And about his team in general. She thought he was adorable all the time, but right now he was at his most adorable.

As he was talking, hands waving around animatedly, she leaned over and pressed a kiss to his cheek. He stopped abruptly, “What was that for?”

“You’re just so cute.”

He blushed and returned the kiss on her cheek.

“Well that was about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen,” Sienna said coming over and taking a seat by Bentley. Raf sat down next to Sienna, balancing a plate filled with food.

Bentley stood up, “Quack quack. Bryce you want anything?”

He nodded and she went over to fill up two plates, then dropped them off with Bryce before grabbing a couple of beers for them. She sat down, cheersed him, and then dug into the wings she had piled high on her plate. Bryce set his down and didn’t touch it for the entire first quarter. He just leaned forward with his head in his hands and didn’t pay attention to anything else. After the game was at the first quarter break, he leaned back and started eating finally. Bentley wrapped her arm around his shoulder and kissed his cheek.

“They got this, baby. Don’t worry.”

“Oh I’m worried. Very worried.”

“Well, I’ll let you be worried. But if you ever don’t want to hold your own hand and need mine, I’m here. I can’t fix it for you, but I can be right here beside you.”

“I appreciate it, but it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better.”

“Okay, I’m here. You sat by my side when I was literally dying, I can sit beside you now.”

“You’re nice, but I’m going to be really mean if it stays close.”

“I can take it, Bryce. Also I don’t believe you’ll ever be mean to me, you lo-like me too much.”

“Hmm, I guess I probably won’t. But it’s not going to be pretty,” he leaned over and kissed her lip gently. She smiled and gave him a kiss on the forehead.

“Do whatever you need to do, Bry. I’m here with you, even if you get mad. Even if you get mad at me. Maybe not if you get mad at Elijah, but otherwise I’m here for you.”

“I could never be mad at Elijah, that kid is way too nice.”

Elijah wasn’t paying attention, he had his laptop out on his lap, going over some of his research. Everyone else looked over at him and he finally noticed what was happening and joined back in for a few minutes, at least until halftime.

Bryce was a bit calmer at halftime, taking a few more bites of his food, then putting his arm around Bentley as they watched the halftime show. She smiled softly, leaning into Bryce and letting him hold her. Even this she had missed. He was the guy she wanted to be with all the time. Just being next to him watching tv was preferable to going out and being hit on by other guys, who may be hot, but just weren’t Bryce. He was her best friend.

She looked up at him watching the analysts intently. He was hanging on Carolyn Peck’s every word and she let out a giggle, drawing his attention.

“What?”

“I like this side of you.”

“You do?”

“Yeah. It’s cute to see you nerding out over women’s sports. I think it’s the mark of a good man to care about women’s sports if you say you like men’s sports too.”

“It’s a lot of fun to watch. I went to more women’s sporting games at Stanford than men’s. What were we even good at? Maybe we pretended to be good at football, but I don’t think we really were.”

“Well it’s cute regardless of why.”

“You’re cute,” he said, giving her a gentle kiss. “I appreciate you watching this with me. I’ll get worse before I get better.”

He was right. With five seconds left, Bryce was at his worst. He was standing up and pacing between the couch and the windows. Bentley knew the ball was going to be in Aari McDonald’s hands, it was just going to come down to if she made the shot or not. And in the end, she didn’t.

Before Bentley could even process what had happened, Bryce had picked her up and swung her around. She was laughing, he was cheering, and everyone else was smiling. Bentley did like McDonald, but she liked Bryce more, so she was happy.

Bryce cheered and celebrated, then calmed down to watch all the interviews and post-game coverage, but everyone else who didn’t have work the next day started making plans to go out. Bentley glanced over at Bryce, who was engrossed in the television.

“I think we’ll maybe catch up later,” Bentley said, Bryce having no clue what was going on at all. He kept watching attentively after everyone left and she leaned her head against his shoulder. Eventually he realized she was there and settled back into the corner, tugging her closer so she was cuddled up with him. She slung her legs over his knees and let him pull her up so she was almost on his lap.

The tv moved on and started talking about other things, and Bryce’s attention turned solely to her, “Do you want to catch up with everyone else?”

She shook her head, “No. I just want to be with you.”

He grinned, then reached under her knees and picked her up. They headed over to her room and he deposited her onto the bed, then jumped in and wrapped his arms around her in a tight hug.

“Today all I wanted to do was sleep with you, but now all I want to do is talk to you. I’ve missed you loads Bryce.”

He smiled softly, tenderly running his hand over her hair, “I’ve missed you too. I don’t like only seeing you for a few minutes at work. I need you to be in my life more than that.”

“I need to be in your life more than that, too. I hate this.”

“So what do we do to fix it?”

She sighed, “We can pick days where I come over or where you come over, but that will get annoying really quickly.”

“Well, no one lives with me. I wouldn’t need any approval for you to just, move in with me?”

She grinned up at him, “You want me to move in with you?”

He nodded, “You wouldn’t have to pay rent until your lease is up here. My parents send me more money than I need for Keiki and I know it’s because they want to pay for me and get me back in their lives. So I use that to pay for rent, so you not doing it wouldn’t be an issue.”

“Bryce, are you really wanting me to move in with you?”

He nodded, “Yeah, I am. Bentley, you’ve been my life saver since I came here. I’ve never had a relationship like the one I have with you. You’re such a good friend to me, and I can tell you have some sort of affection for me. I haven’t had these feelings before, Bentley. I love you.”

“Bryce!” she exclaimed, tugging him closer to press her lips to his. They kissed passionately, letting each other get reacquainted with the other in this way. They hadn’t had a kiss like this anywhere but a supply closet for a really long time. And finally, she pulled away and said it back.

“I love you, too, Bryce Lahela.”

His grin was so wide as he met her lips again, “This is the best night of my life.”

“I think it’s going to get better,” she said with a smile. “Although I just want to be with you, that victory sex does sound pretty good.”

“Before we jump to that, think we should make you my girlfriend?”

“Why not? Let’s go for the big three!”

“Happy to. Bentley will you be my girlfriend?”

She nodded, “Yes! Oh Bryce, I love you so much.”

“I love you too.”

“Now let me show you just how much,” she said, reaching for the waistband of Bryce’s sweats. He met her eyes with a mischievous grin and let her move down to where she most wanted to be.

I really hope the next SJM couple are really into hugging. Like Aelin and Rowan were always holding each other, for safety, for comfort, or just because they share a bed. Same with Bryce and Hunt (largely because of flying and some other cute moments)

We spent most of ACOSF in the “why does he leave after sex” part of the plot and once we got to the “stay with me” part everything just happened so fast - we had starfall and the flying scene before shit went down but that’s it!

But I want to see Elain or Mor or Gwyn or Vassa to be like jumping into their love interests arms, just relishing in holding and being held, enjoying eachother’s signature scents and finding comfort in being together. I just want like intimate moments that aren’t high stakes or super emotionally charged but the MC and their love interest just enjoying eachothers company.

13 reasons why season 4 review

THERE WILL BE SPOILERS IN THIS!! if you haven’t finished the season yet i suggest you skip this!! :)

also this will be super long because i tend to ramble and i’ll give reviews for each character/most of the storylines! ((half way through reading this i read @jessica-acholas and @analuciacortez reviews and i agreed with a lot of it so you guys should all read their reviews as well!!))

over all ranking:

as a whole, i would give this season a 7/10. i originally was gonna give it a 6 but they get an extra point for all the zalex scenes we got, and i also was thinking of the mess that was s3 so i had to give them that extra point too

storylines/the season as a whole:

my biggest concern/annoyance with this season was how rushed or repetitive it was

every storyline this season was either super rushed or super dragged out- no in between. the fact that we only had 10 episodes as opposed to the normal 13 probably had a part in this, which idk why they cut the episodes short. let’s start off with the dragged out storylines, one of them being clay’s nightmare sequences. i honestly did like his therapy scenes because it was good to see him get help and he was a much better narrator than ani, but his nightmare scenes were so long i literally had to skip all of them i got so bored. another dragged out storyline was jesstin, which i probably will get complains about. i think they have their cute scenes and i do love both characters, especially jess being tied with alex for #1 and justin being in my top 5. but my god their storyline/relationship is beyond repetitive, its been the exact same thing for 4 whole seasons. they break up, have a long speech about how they’re not right for each other, spend the whole season pining after each other, make up in the end and then have another speech about how in love they are. like writers please make up your mind- do you want them together or not?? we also had another repetitive love triangle this season just like every other with justin jess and diego as opposed to the justin jess and alex one for like 2 seasons.

now for the rushed storylines, one of them being alex’s relationship with charlie. i love charlie ever since we saw him in s3, he’s so pure and a lovable guy and i love how he loves alex. however they happened like out of nowhere?? alex went from being in love with jess for 3 seasons to being in love with 2 people in 4 episodes. if you blinked you would’ve missed the “build up” to their relationship, and honestly it felt like they just randomly threw in some relationship for alex because they didn’t wanna have zalex happen. i’m not saying this to be bitter (maybe i am lol) but zalex had 3 seasons worth of build up and could’ve been an amazing slow burn relationship for the whole season, instead they rushed another relationship. zach is also another character who had a rushed storyline with his drinking problem, which literally happened out of nowhere too?? he just showed up this season drunk in the first scene and drunk in literally every single scene we saw him in. this storyline also never got resolved, it just stuck there like the writers didn’t even care to end or resolve it. just like how zalex could’ve worked better for alex, it could’ve worked better for zach too since his drinking problem could’ve been helped by alex. i swear the writers just hate us at this point

characters review:

clay: one of my favorites honestly, he’s in my top 5. sure clay has had his moments where he’s been annoying and extra but so has literally every single character in this show- besides tony lol. like i stated above my main concern was how dragged out his sequences were this season, like i couldn’t watch all of them. also another huge problem i had with him this season was how big of a jerk he was to justin??? for like half of the season he was rude to him and would give snarky remarks/hints like when he was surprised colleges would even want justin, which i don’t blame justin for thinking that clay expected him to just relapse again and throw his life away. the same can be said for when clay said all those awful things to him at the party- his parents not being his and not trusting him like wtf? i felt SO BAD for justin there i was expecting clay to apologize to him. on the topic of the party episode, he literally crashed zach’s car and sent them flying 30 ft in the air just to leave zach all alone to literally die?? then there’s also the part where he and ani outed alex before he was ready to fully come out which sucks, that’s something you should never do but i know he was just worried about alex and didn’t want him to get heartbroken over winston - but why didn’t you tell him sooner??

ani: like i said with clay, i hated how she outed alex before he was ready to come out. i don’t understand how her and clay both didn’t think to tell everyone - especially ALEX who literally killed bryce and would’ve gotten hurt the most about winston?? they both knew that winston and alex both knew each other and met at the hillcrest party, so why not tell him winston is gonna be looking for information to clear monty’s name?? alex is literally the only person you guys SHOULDVE told first?? however i did enjoy her this season as opposed to s3, she had a great redemption and i liked that she finally apologized to jess for sleeping with bryce. she also wasn’t up everyone’s business this season and i loved all her scenes with jess, especially the prom ones

alex: HAAAAAA BI KING WHO GOT HIS HAPPY ENDING AND DIDNT GO TO JAIL FOR FLOORING THAT RAPIST!!! HOW DO YOU BRYCE AND MONTY STANS FEEL THAT BOTH OF THEM ARE 6FT UNDER WHILE ALEX IS FREE 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳 i’m so happy he got his happy ending and became secure in his sexuality, that’s all i ever wanted for him since s1. i’m not saying this because i’m biased and he’s my favorite character, but he truly was one of the only characters who didn’t annoy me this season. he had a great arc even if it was super rushed, we finally got a zalex mutual love confession (i’m still bitter that we didn’t get our endgame but in my head we did), and i love how even if he and justin had their differences in the past seasons he was there for him in the end. i don’t really have any complaints about him besides the whole charlie thing being super rushed and so random?? why did the show put 2 bottoms together like we wouldn’t notice 🤨🤨

jessica: jess is my favorite character tied with alex, both of them have been since s1. i loved how she continued to be her badass self this season but a lot of the things she did/said kinda rubbed me the wrong way?? like i applauded her for calling out ani for judging who she was sleeping with after ani slept with bryce, but when you think about it diego literally is a rape apologist too?? jess tyler is literally your friend why would you date the guy who’s defending his rapist?? also don’t get me started how diego treated clay horribly this season, he was suffering with his mental illness and he played pranks on him and called him a psycho??? clay has always been there for you jess and he’s also one of your friends why would you still hang out with diego?? also in the first episode where justin breaks up with her and she got mad at him i got upset with her, justin made valid points he’s a recovering drug addict who needs to focus on himself not a relationship. i don’t understand why she got so mad at that, it was lowkey ooc for her? overall i still loved her i just hate how the writers reduce her to only a guy each season, but she still was amazing over all and looked beautiful!! her scenes with ani were great and i cried so much at her scenes with justin at the end.

zach: another one of my favorite characters who the writers did so dirty this season. i’ve loved zach since s1 as well, he’s in my top 5 and i’ve always loved how even if he was a jock he was still good hearted and there for everyone. i hated how in this season the writers forgot all of his traits and basically wrote him as a new person?? his drinking storyline was beyond random and had no build up/not even a resolution in the end. where even was his mother or sister this entire season. the show always paid him dirt and never focused on his home life when it was clear he didn’t have the best relationship with his mom. i’m so annoyed at how they wrote him as a “drunk” all season and didn’t even acknowledge his struggles. his scenes with alex were great, and i loved every single one of them. i’m still dying on the zalex hill and saying that they missed the perfect opportunity to make them a couple, it would’ve helped his storyline just like alex’s.

justin: oh my god, when i say my heart broke in the last episode it really did. i remember hating justin in s1, and then loving him in s2 with him being in my top 5 favorite characters. he had the best redemption arc, and i loved his portrayal of a recovering drug addict. i’m thinking now and he also didn’t annoy me this season just like alex, he was great and i’m so sad how they basically stomped all over his arc by killing him. it’s clear the show only killed him off because clay started the show by losing someone he loved, and ended it the same way. him dying by aids was so random and made 0 sense, i honestly thought he was gonna die from an overdose when discussing theories because i had a feeling it was either him or alex who were gonna die. they didn’t have a buildup for his hiv/aids- only added scars/bruises throughout the season which no one noticed if they weren’t closely examining him. i’m so saddened by his death and i will be planning a funeral for him along with zalex’s 💔.

tony: honestly a great character throughout the whole show, never was annoying and always was there for literally everyone. tony has always been a fighter and has been through so much without showing it, and i’m glad he got to go to college at the end and see his sister. i’m also so happy we got more scenes between tony and caleb this season because they are one of my favorite couples and are so underrated in the show and with fans ❤️ i was upset when he didn’t believe tyler, but i understood where he was coming from because he just wanted to be safe.

tyler: he’s so pure and i also loved his arc throughout the show, i’m so happy he has friends who love him and him and estela were so cute! i wish they explored more about him and the sheriffs working together because i honestly was confused about that before rewatching scenes. i also hate how they made him feel bad about monty dying when it literally was not his fault a rapist got killed in prison- monty’s rotting 6 ft under hello let’s celebrate to that!! i also loved how he was so supportive when he found out about winston and alex on the camping trip, he seemed worried about alex when winston said they broke up. i also love how alex was the only one who truly believed in him the entire show.

bryce: good riddance!! when i say i yelled when jess saw him when she was burning the tape why did he smile like pennywise?2@/@20so glad we saw no flashbacks of him this season and that he was just an annoying ghost, but even that annoyed me

monty: just like bryce good riddance!!! thank god we didn’t get that much of a redemption arc because i would’ve lost it- even though i literally rolled my eyes every time his ghost tried to say something that was supposed to make us feel bad for him. he’s rotting with bryce 🧚🏻‍♀️🤩

charlie: i loved him, he was so nice to everyone and so pure. i just wish they let him and alex be just friends because that came out of nowhere. i hope he’s baking more cookies and being happy

caleb: such a supportive bf i love him and tony, wish we saw more of him but i hope he’s living his best life <3

winston: he gave me joe from you vibes the entire season why was he creepy lowkey s:@:&;&!392&-03@3&4 nobody @ me but for a second i thought him and alex were cute during the bowling scene then i remembered who he was. he was a rape apologist which i hated, like dude he’s dead get over it i promise that dick probably wasn’t that good that you have to do a whole fbi investigation for him. the fact that he fell in love with monty and alex after like a week is sending me oddjdkckdkdj but i too am in love with alex standall so i see where he’s coming from, he gets points for not turning alex in at the end but i expected him to be a bigger villain this season but thank god he wasn’t because i would’ve floored him

chloe: my best girl who i wish we saw more of we only saw her for like 3 scenes?? the show did her dirty even in s3 she should’ve had more scenes her storyline was amazing :/ i did enjoy her and zach’s friendship it was so refreshing to see a m/f friendship and i’m glad they didn’t make them romantic. i didn’t expect her and scott to date but go girl!!

diego: literally came out of nowhere where were you for the other 3 seasons? i literally laughed every time he would talk about missing monty like who cares if he got you into football he was a rapist no one cares. i hated how he made clay go literally insane by pulling those pranks on him and calling him psycho?? “why’d you bring a knife” MF YOU GAVE IT TO HIM???? he was nice at the end so i guess i’ll give him some points and he also wasn’t a HUGE jerk i liked how him and justin helped each other when the cop was being racist/a dick and that he seemed upset at justin’s funeral

estela: her and tyler were super cute together and i loved how she acknowledged what monty did and didn’t try to make excuses to defend him. also loved how she wanted to join HO and was completely different from monty

so overall that was my review of the season, i will miss the characters so much and zalex will continue to haunt me every night i cannot escape 💔 jess and alex are my emotional support characters who would’ve thought. selena gomez and the 13rw writers you will pay for your crimes this season!
