Katara could have ended up with Haru, and Zuko could have ended up with Jin, which I would have been happier with than canon Kataang and Maiko. The added irony that Zuko and Katara both flirted with people from the Earth Kingdom.

College AU

Katara frowned as she studied the pouring rain outside. Her next class started in ten minutes, there was no other choice. Time to get wet.

She sighed and steeled herself.

“Um, would you like to share my umbrella?”

Katara startled at the voice, glancing over at the boy next to her. He was cute, and his green eyes were stunning.

She felt dumb staring, remember to speak. “Oh! Yes, please.”

They headed outside, and Katara felt herself flush as she stood close to him as he opened the umbrella up over their heads. Their arms brushed.

Katara swallowed. “Thank you very much.”

“It’s no fun getting drenched and then having to sit in AC for another hour.” He smiled kindly at her. “Now, where to?”

She pointed across the street, “Just over at the recitation building.”

“I’m Haru, by the way. I think we have a couple classes together.”

She smiled, “I’m Katara. I don’t think I’ve seen you before.” She absolutely would have remembered such a beautiful boy in her class, right?

“Ah, I’m usually a bit late and sit in the back.” He grinned in embarrassment. It was cute.

They walked in silence across the busy crosswalk, stealing looks at each other.

He cleared his throat, “So, what’s your major?”

“Oh, I’m just general biology right now. Not sure if I want to switch to something more specific yet.” Katara linked her hands together. “How about you?”

“Ah, yeah it’s a hard decision when there’s so many interesting ones. I chose ecology.”

Katara thought it was fitting for him, even though she didn’t know him. His bright green eyes and kind smile and chivalry just tipped him into the laid-back and animal-lover type.

“I might go premed, I haven’t decided.” Katara felt herself slowing as her building neared.

Haru winced in sympathy, “good luck with that. I don’t envy you.”

She laughed, “I don’t envy me either. Especially right now, my algebra class is next.”

He hesitated under the building awning. “Well, unfortunately for you, here we are. I guess I’ll see you around?”

“Yeah! Maybe we can study together.” Katara grinned up at him, lingering as long as she could.

“Sounds like a plan, Katara.”

Her name on his tongue sent a shiver of sparks down her spine. “Right. Well, see you then, Haru.”

They waved at each other as she walked into the building.

She hoped that him dropping her off would become a more common occurrence.

Oh, honey..... out of the goodness of my heart, I'm going to assume that you really are asking this out of genuine cluelessness and naïveté, rather than cruelty or stupidity. There are several problems with Harutara, as anyone with a functioning pair of eyeballs would recognize.

First off, there's a serious power imbalance here. Katara is a Main Character, with all of the influence and narrative weight that role carries, while Haru is a minor Side Character with very little sway on the hearts and minds on any but the most devoted of fans. This is not a good foundation for a relationship.

Also, Katara is clearly a terrible influence on Haru. He literally gets thrown in prison the day after they meet specifically because she ACTIVELY ENCOURAGES him to break the law. Hate to break it to you, but reversing the genders of the Nice Girl x Bad Boy dynamic does NOT actually make it less Wrong.

Firstly I really apreciate you're giving me so many asks I love to babble about things in general but especially of my special interests

For Sokka my favourite ships are Yuekka, the best of course lol, Tokka and Sokkla (because the only person who tops Azula is Sokka lmao) hehe I think they're cute. Sokkla started on that one scene he presses her against the wall. I will not elaborate.

For Katara it might come across as weird since you know I like Zutara, but I'd really like her to end up with Haru. He had so much potential and really respects her! Haru also met her when she was on her prime of innocence and was still very much inspired by her. He'd need to get rid of the beard tho, its not good on him. Ooh and I like Azutara, hehe. Spicy.

For Toph its - hehe - Toko, Tokka and Tang. TOPH TOPS EVERYONE BWAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!! Also Toph and Teo- the boy who flies and the girl who senses. Absolute power couple. But mainly Tokka, I love her silly crush on him.

*coughs* anyway, I ship Aang with therapy first, but then with Azula. I just think they're neat. And I really like Kataang too, but not the tainted canon version. My own. Oooh my favourite rarepair is Yuang. So neat. Ah! And On-Ji, the fn student girl, she was so cute and obviously had a crush on him.

I ship Zuko with Jin, the Ba Sing Se girl because she was a breath of fresh air and was super funny. She was so easy going, I was rooting for them. But I really like Maiko too, Mai is so adorable and sexy and Zuko looks so happy in the finale with her! And with Suki too because of that one my lord scene but dont tell Sokka or my friends we hate the comics

I really love Tyzula because we all just assume Azula would be the top but I think she'd be the blushing mess. She is so soft for Ty Lee. Adorable my two babeys.

I know it's kinda boring bc its mostly MxF but well, I wont apologize for my tastes on my own blog!
