How They Like To Cuddle and Spend
Time With You
Characters Included: Tobio Kageyama, Rinko Sudō, Moe Kikuchi, Chizuru Sasaki, Kentarō Kyōtani, Reon Ōhira, Kazuma Bobata, Hana Misaki, Rintarō Suna, and Shugo Meian
Warnings: None, just fluff
Tobio Kageyama
He's gone a lot due to being a professional sports player. So when he gets home all he wants to do is cuddle as you both watch something and bask in each other presence.
Usually when he gets home he's so cranky and tired so he usually will just hold out his arms as he slowly embraces you. He puts all of his weight on you as he let's out a long sigh, relaxing.
Though, when he is home for awhile and is able to be well rested he tends to get shy. You two could have had an established cuddling dynamic for awhile now, but he is still always a little hesitant to ask.
Usually He's very gruff and blunt about it.
You'll be sitting on the couch, in the bed, or up and doing something when Tobio will very stifly stand beside or behind you until you address him.
Once you do he'll very awkwardly ask if you'd want to cuddle. If you chuckle he'll get annoyed and a little irritated.
"What is it, Tobio?"
"I was just wondering......if you might....want to, ya know......cuddle? What are you laughing at?! It's not funny!"
You'll have to reassure him you're not laughing at him and he'll calm down, probably pouting a lil till you both go and cuddle. He could never genuinely be mad at you. Though he does worry and get in his head too much. He's so awkward socially and can be short tempered sometimes, though he has come a long way with both.
You've helped him so much, he can never show how grateful he his for you, your care, and your support. You've both talked through how he needs to communicate his emotions more so when he gets down on himself you can help.
So whenever he's feeling down and unsure of himself, he looks to you for comfort and will outright ask for your attention.
When Tobio is feeling like this, he loves laying on top of you and let you fork your fingers through his hair or trace around on his upper back.
He not a very outspoken person with soft intimate moments like these. So just you cuddling and playing with his hair as you both cuddle either in complete silence or with something playing in the background. These simple touches are more than enough for him to know you care and love him, even the things about himself that Tobio doesn't really care for.
Rinko Sudō
Rinko is very busy. She is also a very goal oriented and can seem very stubborn. But is very warm and kind so she really has no trouble in asking you to cuddle her.
The only thing is, as I said, she is very busy. She'll need someone to stop her from pushing herself too far. She tends to neglect her own health, but that's nothing a good cuddling session can fix. You will probably have to initiate it most of the time to pull her away from work.
She is rather tall, so when she cuddles you you almost disappear. She wraps her entire self around you and will snuggle her face into you.
You are her recharge station, she needs you to feel batter. So when she isn't being stretched by her work, she will be wrapped around you and not wanting to let go.
Rinko loves cuddling and talking about anything and everything. She wants to know you as emotionally and mentally intimately as possible. You amaze her.
So chatting your time away is a must. Sharing ideas, silly and serious alike, she eats this up.
Wrapped together in each and every way possible.
Moe Kikuchi
Moe is a very quiet yet cheerful person. She can be rather shy but really loves to cuddle you. Not just cuddling, she just loves touch. Always holding your hand, wrapping her arms around you as she rests her chin on your shoulder. Her height adds to her shyness as well. She already blushes enough as it is when you're holding hands in public, but with how tall she is makes her think too much as well.
Any outings you two have will cause her to ask for attention of cuddles and soft touches. Sitting together in front of the TV as you watch comedy movies covered in a big blanket on the couch. Moe loves for you to to sit in her lap if you are a lot smaller than her. If not, she loves interwining your legs together under the blanket as you giggle and laugh at the movie.
She's insecure sometimes and just needs to know how much you love her, all of her. So compliments when she is brave enough to ask you to cuddle is a must.
Tell her how powerful she looks, or how sweet she is. A good one that makes Moe melt is telling her how loved you feel being with her.
Usually she'll grab you by the waist and slowly and carefully pull you down, giving little kisses to your shoulders and temples and she guides you to her lap or a spot on the couch or bed next to her.
Chizuru Sasaki
Chizuru is very insecure about herself. She tends to make a lot of mistakes because she's so nervous about making mistakes all the time. She tends to go running to you after work if she's had a rough day and will often run into your arms as soon as she sees you.
She so small that she loves it if you'd ever hold her in a Koala hug.
She'll barely have taken her shoes off, probably not even putting on her house slippers before she's running to you and snuggling into your embrace. She'll immediately try and wrap her legs around your waist and want to be held.
Bad days and good days alike though, she just loves to hug you. Good days She'll want to hang out and watch movies and eat snacks and chatter the night away.
Bad days she only wants to be cuddled in bed as you reassure her. And she'll outright ask for it.
"Am I really just a klutz?"
"Am I worth the trouble?"
"Why do I even try?"
She tends to take on others burdens as her own as well and just needs to be told she's loved and worthy.
You are her lighthouse in the storm of life. You bring stability, safety, and warmth. Chizu just loves snuggling close into your chest and hearing your heartbeat. She can't sleep without it now.
Kentarō Kyōtani
Kentarō loves to cuddle but hardly ever asks. He has a hard time asking for things like this, usually he'll pat his chest if he laying or sitting.
Though, after playing or practice with the Sendai Frogs, he tends to be more tired and less patient. So he'll usually just pick you up with a kiss to the forehead or temple and carry you to the bed.
Kentarō loves to have you held to his chest, his chin resting on the crown of your head.
He gets very heated during games and has a short temper with people so he often looks to you to for comfort and relaxation.
He very heavily relies on both physical touch and words of affirmation. So when you cuddle him he really needs you to tell him how everything is going to be alright. He needs to know you're not afraid of him or think he's mean or scary.
Kentarō isn't one much to talk but loves to hear you talk. It helps him forget his worries to attend to your thoughts and ideas.
You two will often find yourselves cuddling as you talk for hours, Kentarō asking and intersecting very little at just the right moments to keep you going.
He jokes a lot to make you laugh, it's his favourite sound.
The night slowly closes in as you two lay under the blankets, your talk lulling you both to sleep.
Reon Ōhira
This man is super busy. Not only does he play on a sports team but is a sporting goods employee as well.
So when he gets home in a timely manner, he loves to gather up your daughter and you and take you both to the couch and cuddle as you watch whatever your daughter's heart desires.
Cuddling us a big thing in your house. Reon did a lot of research without you before you adopted a child of your own. It became a form of quality time for the both of you. Learning about how to rear and Rais a child properly into adulthood.
Reon is always picking her up and throwing you over his shoulder, chuckling all the way.
He may be busy but he is very calm and very laid back, so he makes sure he has as much time as he can with you two because loves the both of you so much.
He tends to like doing small, easy things with you two when ge gets home. He's tired alot, so watching movies, reading, family picnics, the whole shebang.
If you're doing your own thing in another room you'll hear raucous laughter from another as Reon tickles your daughter and screams for you to save her from the mighty tickle monster.
Though this is always just a ploy to get you to come into he room so Reon can pick you up and hold you both down on the bed and cuddle pile.
Cuddling usually ends up with you partially asleep on his chest with your daughter splayed out on top of the both of you, and he wouldn't want it any other way.
Kazuma Bobata
Kazuma is very energetic and confident, but when it comes to you he is very insecure. He gets nervous and shy and will try to fake confidence; failing to by the way.
He gets so red in the face and can't look at you. He just thinks you're so amazing. How did he get you? How'd he get so damn lucky?
He'll usually hang around you dropping hints. He loves it when you act like you have no idea what he wants and tease him.
Kazuma will just explode in embarrassment and just ask you to finally cuddle him.
He loves to be babied and to be face planted into your chest. If you have big boobs he would happily be smothered of not he is dying (affectionately) from your heartbeat.
He loves listening to your heartbeat as you tell him how good of a boy he is and how much he makes you laugh as you play with his hair.
Since Kazuma is so energetic he has a very busy work life and will overestimate himself and get in trouble and stressed out.
So you telling him he does a good job and is actually helpful is so good for it. He clings to you like he can't get close enough and wants to merge with you.
Hana Misaki
Hana is very outspoken and gets what she wants. In highschool you remember her being very quiet and timid until she finally learned to speak out.
Now she comes off as brash, but she never means too. This includes when she wants attention from you. She'll walk right past you as she says "I wanna hang out. Meet me in the living to watch movies," or something along those lines. Of course if you're really not feeling it she is more than willing to postpone the cuddle and hangout session.
More often than not though you guys are hanging out together outside. Hana is very social and she likes to be out and about checking this or that.
She also likes to just hang out with you at home being cozy but not too much so beware. You will be dragged along.
As I said though, she will be very blunt and will tell you what she wants.
Hana's favourite thing is to come home to you with dinner made and you two can chow down as you talk about your days or when you get home from work as she's just getting done making dinner.
She loves to drag you here and there and your guys free time is mostly spent visiting this or that place learning something new and exploring Japan.
Rintarō Suna
Rin, as we all know, can be an absolute little shit. So when he wants attention and cuddles from you, he'll make it seem like that's the last thing he wants and he'll tease you incessantly.
Rin will poke fun at whatever you're doing, never pushing too far because he does love you and doesn't want to hurt you or actually make you mad, but he loves getting a rise out of you.
Sometimes you can't even tell when he's doing it because he'll do it in that deadpan way of his. But it all has a purpose. He knows exactly how to push and pull on your emotions to get what he wants without outright asking for it.
The only time Rin will outright ask for all of your attention to be on him is when he gets home after being gone for awhile.
He is a professional volleyball player, so this is unfortunately more common that you'd both like. But it's his dream and he loves it, and you can live out your own dream without him there all the time.
Either way, as soon as he gets home from being gone for training or playing, he'll drop his bags by the door and barely slip on his house shoes before he has his arms wrapped around you, his face buried in your neck as he's begging you to join him in the bed and to just cuddle, wordlessly all night.
He has missed you so much, the way your hands trace the Kanji of I love you on his back and the way you fit so perfectly in his arms. Even down to how your bed smells of the two of you always with the mix of your detergent. Rin misses the way you heave a big sigh just before your eyes flutter shut. How before you close them they are so eager to drink in his appearance.
Rintarō would never say it but he feels the same. Not having you there next to him as he falls asleep and feeling your arms secure him to this plain of existence was dreadful.
But it's always that much better to experience the longer he has to wait.
Shugo Meian
Shugo is another who is a professional volleyball player. He is exhausted when he gets home, and nothing cures that better than him climbing into bed with you and wrapping his big arms around you and spooning you.
Shugo is always looking to cuddle with you. He is so hardworking he deserves it. Not only does he play volleyball professional but he is such a good househusband. When he's home you're not allowed to lift a finger. He'll be damned if his lover cooks or cleans when he's home. You do so much for him by keeping the house clean when he's gone and making him feel so loved and cared for.
Shugo is always picking you up in his big strong arms or pulling you down on his lap for cuddles. No words necessary. He's home now and he missed his baby and needs to soak up all the love he can before he has to go back.
He calls you every night before he goes to sleep or before he k ows you go to sleep and whines about how much he just needs you in his arms, your face in his hands to plant kisses all over it.

I can‘t even write detailed reviews and theories about SLWY anymore because every chapter leaves me braindead (in the best way). Like, I’m so overwhelmed with feelings after each chapter that I can‘t put them into coherent thoughts and this was no different, but I‘ll try.
Part 14 was different than I expected. I thought that Hyun was gonna be upfront about having to leave earlier. I also expected YN to (try to) talk things out with Lix and Hana. And I imagined the art internship to be a bigger topic, though I‘m sure it‘s gonna be picked up in the following parts. Long story short, I thought it was going to be a lot more angsty and dramatic, almost loud, but I love what you did with this chapter instead. It was a quiet sort of angst. Aside from being unexpected (for me, at least), I feel like despite it not being as sad as Part 13, the chapter had a constant melancholic undertone. I don‘t know if you did on purpose, but to me, it felt like it demonstrated YN headspace very well. She‘s trying to make happier memories, Hyun‘s trying to cheer her up, Yeonjun and our new (and very likable, btw) character Yuqi were there and despite everyone genuinely trying, there‘s a subtle - yet still very palpable - sadness and emptiness about YN and anything that doesn’t have to do with Hyun. I‘ve told you several times before, but the way you so realistically but poetically manage to write YN‘s mental wellbeing, which to me has well crossed into an actual depression-realm is heartbreakingly beautiful.
I love that Hyun and YN are breaking their own rules, but they don‘t constantly talk about said rules all the time as they did before. They‘re still aware of their situation, of course, but it‘s like they‘re letting themselves fall. I mean so many make-out sessions in a single chapter, you truly blessed us. Them constantly getting interrupted (phone calls, people walking in on them etc.) is a good metaphor to remind us (and them) of their situation, but it doesn‘t stop them anymore and I love that for HyunYN! 🥹 Though, I do wonder how much him finding out he has to leave earlier made a difference. ALSO, THE FIREFLY SCENE? JESUS H. CHRIST, YOU LITERALLY KILLED ME! The beautiful scenery and them just laying down in the dirt and making out? And when he… SORRY FOR THE TMI, BUT WHEN HE PUT HIS HANDS IN HER PANTIES AND ASKS IF HE COULD FINALLY FINGER HER WHILE CALLING HER BABY IN THE SAME SENTENCE, I PHYSICALLY CLENCHED. Like, I felt legitimate tingles. I‘m so glad I‘m anonymous because you‘d never catch me admitting that openly. I screamed at my phone when Yuqi interrupted.
The convo with Felix, I honestly think - as much as he sucks (the SLWY version of him, ofc) - he was pretty spot-on about her hurting herself. Though saying she wanted "things she can‘t have" is very harsh and untrue, the initial thought he had I do agree with. She does seem a bit self-destructive because of the positions she puts herself in. Not only with her past relationships, but her current situationship with Hyun, her absolutely disgusting best friends (Lix and Hana), putting all eggs in one basket by only applying to one internship etc. This self-sabotage is very common for people with anxiety, unhealed trauma and depression, it happened to me as well and it breaks my heart seeing her this way, but it is so important that you made this part of the story. YN is such a mesmerizing protagonist, she is insanely likable, but she‘s not perfect. And the faults she does have don‘t make her annoying or weak, instead they‘re realistic and relatable. YN is honestly a very inspiring character.
I‘m already so excited for your poetic and romantic magic in the next chapter and I‘m curious to see how HyunYN will handle his secret being out and if they‘re gonna have an argument about it or choose to ignore it and enjoy their even more limited time together. This is all I can somewhat coherently say about this part, I wish you could look into my brain and how many thoughts I have about this story, but I absolutely loved it. And as always, you‘ve outdone yourself! Sending you so much love!
-👑
hi, my love ! dw, i love reading your thoughts even if they’re incoherent haha
what you said about the angst undertone, i really like that! i understand, it definitely could have gone the other direction and been much more louder, angstier, aggressive, but i knew i wanted it to be more towards the calm before the storm ~
im so happy you like yuqi’s character ! (except the interruption of course) the rules are so forgotten and theyre so far gone…and hyun finding out he has to leave is responsible for a lot of his behaviour this chapter…
i love everything you say about yn’s character, thank you for finding her mesmerising and likeable, i would hate for her to interpreted as annoying (?) even though she has a lot of self-sabotage qualities perhaps.
and the firefly scene… 😄 you made me laugh. thank you for letting me know that you liked it so much . :D

Hanagaki Takemichi 花垣 武道
I didn't use to like Takemichi' s name earlier like it didn't sound really nice to me but wow I just love the meaning. It just is so nice and so fitting to his character and story.
花垣 武道
花 - Hana - Flower, blossom               垣 - Gaki - Barrier, wall, fence
Hanagaki stands for him a being a wall between his friends and whatever harm is going to come their way. Hana probably shows his blossoming and growth but I also think it could signify his softness, kindness or something like that.
武 - Take - Warrior, brave                    道 - Michi - Road, journey
Takemichi - Journey of a warrior. That's the manga. This is his journey to bring out his true hidden strength and learn to use it instead of running away. Pretty simple I guess but there’s more stuff which I found interesting which is not necessarily "correct" correct since it's not the sound his name uses but it's interesting
Together 武道 (takemichi) is also read as “budou” which means Japanese martial arts or martial way. Historically this term defined overall self improvement and personal growth, physically, mentally and morally. If we keep this meaning in mind, then it shows Takemichi’s personal journey as a person very clearly.
Another point, 道 (dou) is a kanji used in the names of modern martial arts like judo and kendo whose main purposes are self-improvement and self-defense. The choice of Kanji is really amazing coz it describes Takemichi’s personal story very clearly imo.
SPOILERS till chapter 245:
Over the chapters Takemichi has constantly grown as a person and become a definition of what it means to be a warrior (fighter) in every sense. From someone who ran away from his problems after middle school and went on to live a sorry life, to trying to save all his friends (even when they were not more than strangers to him initially), to not backing down no matter who the opponent is, to now leading a gang he made himself determined to face someone who is considered “invincible” and that to for the sole purpose of protecting and saving his friends, his journey to become a true fighter is coming to an end. He has understood what his true strength is.
Like Mikey said Takemichi is strong because he doesn’t gives up. What’s important in a fight is not to win but to not lose yourself. Takemichi may lose a fight, become lost but he gets back up and holds on to his true self. This is what makes Mikey “weak”, he always wins the fight but loses himself to his impulses. After everything that has happened, everything that has went wrong, he is here standing in the end like a wall to protect and save his friends and is ready to fight and win physically (he just slammed Kakucho), mentally (Mikey is getting talk no jutsud and a free therapy session) , and  morally (he is going to stay true to his moral code while being the baddest badass).
He is invincible now and he is going to be the top delinquent. His journey is complete.

Autumn Skies: Chapter 5
Tumblr media
previous | chapter 5 | next | masterlist
summary:  You were best friends with Kuroo Tetsurou since middle school. You loved him but he only had eyes for someone else. Years later, you come back to Tokyo as a new person. What do the stars have in store for your relationship?
Autumn Skies Chapter 5: ‘Tis the Season
warnings: some swearing, lmk if i missed anything
As you walked to class, you stopped by at the restroom real quick to freshen up. Looking at yourself in the mirror, you can see dark, albeit faint, circles under your eyes. Your complexion was ashen, lips and cheeks pale and dry from the cold, devoid of the glow that they used to wear. However, thanks to Yaku and Kenma and the coffee, you didn’t feel as weary as you looked.
Fishing out the makeup kit from your bag, you put on some light makeup to make yourself look a little decent. With a touch of foundation, light blush and tinted lip balm, you started to feel more like your old self.
You resumed your journey to your classroom, ready to take on the rest of the day.
Entering the room, your eyes landed upon something that immediately halted you in your tracks, the spring in your step interrupted like a joyous orchestra that abruptly stopped.
In her seat was Hana, proudly wearing Kuroo’s red track jacket, like she often does. Your thoughts and your heart started to race, making you dizzy. With faltering steps, you made your way to your seat, setting down your bag unceremoniously and plopping down on the chair.
You could’ve sworn you saw Kuroo’s jacket at the clubroom just mere minutes ago. You almost bit your nails at the thought of Hana or Kuroo overhearing the conversation you had with Kenma and Yaku at the clubroom.
Maybe you were mistaken and the jacket at the clubroom wasn’t Kuroo’s? But the initials on the lining clearly indicated that it was. It was probably just an extra jacket of his, you tried to reassure yourself.
The door swung open at the teacher’s arrival, pulling you out from your spiral of thoughts.
As the teacher droned on about some announcement for next week’s exams, your gaze fell upon Hana, then shifted to Kuroo. So far they haven’t been acting out of the ordinary, no indication that either of them ever heard of the conversation. But then again you were in class so you couldn’t tell for sure. Sighing, you willed yourself to push the matter to the back of your mind and just deal with it later.
---
Later, when your last class for the day ended, you stayed and waited around at the classroom for a bit. For what, you weren’t so sure. Maybe a confrontation from Hana of some sort? A rejection from Kuroo? Maybe just to see if they knew?
In any case, you wanted to clear the air with them if they ever knew. You had absolutely no intention of getting in the way of their relationship and you wanted them to know that.
You stood awkwardly by the window, hands gripping at the straps of your bag, trying not to make it seem too obvious that you were waiting. Yaku suddenly walks up to you, sending you a questioning look laced with concern, wondering what you were up to. You only gave him a reassuring smile and a slight shake of your head.
Confused, Yaku also watches as Hana and Kuroo as they gathered up their things. Your other classmates were filtering out of the room one by one, and soon, Kuroo and Hana were ready to go, too, with Kuroo draping an arm around Hana’s shoulders.
You see Kuroo and Hana turn sideways towards you, the anticipation making things seem like they were in slow motion. And you thought, this is it. The moment of truth. The confrontation.
You braced yourself.
“Hey, aren’t you guys coming to practice?” Kuroo asks, raising his eyebrows.
Huh?
You looked at the couple disbelievingly, eyes wide and mouth hanging open just slightly. Did you worry yourself over nothing?
Beside you, Yaku clicked his tongue. “Of course, we are! We’ve got less than a month ‘til the Nationals. We need all the practice we can get.”
Kuroo laughed. “Yeah, we do. Well then, see you guys later!” he says as he and Hana started walking out of the room. Hana quickly gave the two of you a little wave of goodbye.
Once the two were out of sight, you slumped over with relief, hands braced on your knees. You started laughing under your breath both in relief and at how stupid you were for getting worked up about nothing.
“What’s wrong with you?” Yaku asks, slightly creeped out. Standing back up, you fixed your bag and started walking with Yaku following closely behind you.
As you walked to the gym, you told Yaku about Kuroo’s jacket that you found at the clubroom, how Hana was wearing it in class, and how worried you were at the possibility that one or both of them heard everything you talked about at the clubroom earlier.
With a laugh, Yaku told you, “It was probably just one of his extra jackets. You know we have at least two.”
“Yeah, maybe,” you said, laughing lightly, feeling better because of Yaku’s words. And with that, every bit of concern you had on the matter disappeared.
---
The rest of the week went by in a blur and finally, Saturday, the day of the party was here. However, since the national tournament will take place early in January, that meant that the team spent most of their time practicing at the gym.
So here you were, cozily wrapped in your favorite jacket, busily keeping score on the team’s practice games against each other. Your eyes fleetingly scanned the expanse of the gym. The boys did their part in helping with the party preparations like they promised.
Some hanging Christmas decorations in an assortment of colors adorned the walls, placed there by the first years before practice began. A few tables brought in by the rest of the team were lined off to the far side along with a couple of chairs and benches. The rest of your party essentials were waiting at the clubroom. You and Hana, meanwhile, were in charge of the food and beverages.
Last night, your hands were full with baking a bunch of festive desserts: a cake, some cookies, and an apple pie specially made for Kenma. You couldn't wait until practice ended so the party could begin. The thought of all the delicious food you were going to have later made you hungry.
---
Finally, practice was over. The boys immediately freshened up and changed into clean clothes and you and Hana took this opportunity to finish preparing for the party.
Opening the door of the gym, the cold winter breeze kissed the skin on your face, making you shiver.
A light dusting of snow covered the surroundings outside, and the afternoon sun bathed the white blanket of snow in a fusion of pink, purple, and orange sunset colors until it disappeared under the horizon.
Hana was busy dressing the tables for the season with festive tablecloths and placemats. You, on the other hand, went to get the midsized Christmas tree from the clubroom.
You set the tree near the tables and fussed around with its ornaments until you were satisfied. Once you were done with that, you went to and from the clubroom to fetch the gifts and place them under the tree. Some of the boys started helping out wherever they can as well; cleaning up the gym, helping you transport all the food and drinks from the clubroom to the tables at the gym, hanging Christmas lights on the wall, and setting up the speaker.
Little by little, the stars peeked out from their hiding spot in the winter blue skies and glittered above you as you carried the last of the food to the gym.  A Christmas song could be faintly heard coming from the gym, getting louder as you got closer.
On regular days, nighttime signaled the culmination of the day’s activities in the form of an exhale as things winded down. In the holiday season, however, the arrival of nighttime serves as a cue that the festivities were just about to begin. Sometimes the shorter days and longer nights of winter were comforting, you suppose.
The boys were already seated around the table once you arrived back at the gym. The cacophony of idle chatter and laughter from the team rose above the music blasting from the speakers and you smiled to yourself as you set the last tray of food down at the table.
“OH! LOOK AT ALL THESE FOOD!” yells Lev, making Yaku hit him lightly on the head for being so loud.
“Man, I’m starving! Can we eat now?” Yamamoto also says.
Coach Nekomata and Coach Naoi just laughed at them, waiting for your cue. Knowing that they were starving after a brutal practice session, you didn’t wait any longer to tell them that they could start eating. And with that, the hungry volleyball players dug into the assortment of food like they hadn’t eaten in days.
You sat between Yaku and Kenma while Kuroo and Hana sat across from you.
“Cam I fweafe hafe fome feherts mow?” Lev asked after some time, as he chewed his food.
“Lev! Don’t talk when your mouth is full! That’s disgusting!” Yaku scolds him.
“You’ll get to eat them after your play,” you snickered. “You did practice, right?”
Kenma snorted beside you while Kuroo laughed. Yamamoto and the first-years blanched, regretting ever bringing up a play when you were planning for the party. It was originally Yamamoto’s idea and he had Fukunaga and the first-years to play along. But Yamamoto was not one to back down.
“Lev, hurry up! Let’s get the play going!” he announces and gets up. Inuoka, Shibayama, Teshiro looked at each other as they reluctantly stood up. Fukunaga, ever one to go with the flow, just ambles along.
“W-wait!” Lev quickly gulped down his juice then scrambled to where Yamamoto and the others were gathered.
A few minutes later, they emerged from behind the curtains of the stage. Yamamoto donned a Santa Claus costume. Fukunaga was a Christmas tree, and Inuoka, Shibayama and Teshiro were reindeers. Lev, however...
“Is he supposed to be a snowman?” Kuroo turned to ask you incredulously, his finger pointing towards Lev.
“We’ll just have to wait and see,” you shrugged.
“Oi, Lev! This is Christmas, not Halloween!” Yaku yelled.
“Maybe he’s the spirit of Christmas?” Kai asked.
By this point, everyone at the table was snickering at how Lev looked more like a ghost than a snowman.
“S-shut up! I’m a snowman!” Lev announces.
“Oi, Lev, your line!” Yamamoto scolds him.
“Oh, right!”
And so, the play began.
It was chaos up on the stage. You have no idea whether they actually practiced a script or they were just winging it on stage.
At the moment, Fukunaga was riding on the back of Inuoka across the stage while Yamamoto, who was Santa Claus, was having a candy cane sword fight with Lev. Off to the side of the stage, Shibayama and Teshiro, the rest of the reindeers, were dancing lousily with their tambourines to the tune of Jingle Bell Rock. It was a mess.
Kuroo and Yaku were laughing so hard that they started tearing up, banging their fists on the table.
“Kenma, you should’ve joined them.” Coach Nekomata said as he laughed mirthfully, to which Kenma, who was already happily munching on a slice of apple pie, frowned.
The thought of Kenma joining in on the chaos that was happening onstage only made the rest of you laugh harder.
“I would never,” Kenma mutters.
“Kuroo, you should probably stop them now before they end up hurting themselves,” you tell him, although you were laughing at the play yourself.
“Right, right,” Kuroo concedes, shaking his head as he tried to calm down from the laughter.
“Aww but this is so much fun!” Yaku said, “But yeah, we can’t allow any injuries,” he sighed regretfully.
With that, Kuroo stood up, “Oi! What the hell are you guys doing? You’re going to hurt yourselves!” The boys immediately listened to their captain and stopped, embarrassed.
Shaking your head, you excused yourself, telling them that you’ll be right back.
You ran to the clubroom to get the yule log cake that you made as a surprise for the team. Yule log cakes were apparently eaten for good luck and you wanted to wish your team good luck for the upcoming tournament.
You slid the door to the clubroom open halfway and went in. You didn’t bother to turn on the lights in the room as there was enough light coming from the lamppost outside to allow you to maneuver.
You pulled the box of cake carefully from the paper bag you hid it in on the shelf. Suddenly, you felt a presence behind you, making goosebumps erupt all over your skin.
---
Unbeknownst to you, Kuroo also made his way to the clubroom when he found out that you went out. Ever the perceptive guy, he had the sneaking suspicion that you had a surprise planned out and went to check and maybe help you out.
When he got to the clubroom, he wondered why it was dark. But the door was open so he guessed that you were there. Peeking in, he watched as you reached up to get something on the shelf.
Smirking, he went to sneak up behind you to scare you, like he always did when he sees the perfect opportunity.
You were so focused on not dropping the cake and being too excited to present it to the team that you failed to notice Kuroo approaching until he was right behind you.
Kuroo reached his hands out to place over your eyes when you suddenly whirled around to face whoever was about to get you. Kuroo wasn’t expecting you to notice and he ended up poking you in the eye.
"Ow! Fuck!" you hissed. You squeezed your eyes shut and stayed still, leaning against the shelf, careful not to make any sudden movements that could ruin the cake you were holding.
"Shit, y/n, I'm sorry!" Kuroo said frantically. He held your face in his hands as he tried to get a good look at your eye which he accidentally poked. You blinked your eyes furiously to rid of the uncomfortable sensation.
"I’m so sorry," he whispers, trying to calm you down.
He was so close, closer than you two ever were before. The proximity made it hard for you to breathe. Your skin burned in the places he touched, a striking contrast to the winter chill that surrounded you. It looked almost like he was going to kiss you.
“N-no, I’m fine,” you tell him, eyes still squeezed tightly shut. You tried to shrug him off with a shake of your shoulders but he wouldn’t budge.
“Please, let me take a look. I shouldn’t have done tha-”
“Kuroo?” All of a sudden, brightness flooded the room and Hana stood by the door.
“What are you doing?” she asked.
“Hana! It’s not what it looks like!” Kuroo immediately stepped away from you, explanations spilling from his lips. “I tried to scare her and accidentally poked her in the eye!”
Hana looks over at you and hums. “I see. Well then, let’s all go back to the party. Everyone’s waiting.”
With that, she turns around and walks out.
“Y/n, I’m sorry,” Kuroo apologizes a final time, rubbing the back of his head, before following after Hana.
With a sharp exhale, you also headed back to the gym, turning off the lights and closing the door to the clubroom.
You didn’t miss the way Hana looked at you. There was a silent warning behind that stare. Sighing, you cursed Kuroo and his foolishness.
taglist is still open!

Hello again It is me the worried anon about their fanfic. Actually, I am so grateful for your feedback, I thought about sharing more with you? If this annoys you, tell me in your next reply, I will stop immediately and I will fully understand it. I hope you are ok with my being my exclusive reader if that is not too weird? Here I go with another part: I don’t know exactly why I am writing what I have already experienced years ago; is it my habit to organize my thoughts whenever I feel lost? Is it the need to remind myself how I became who I am now? May be all of them together? Where should I start? I guess I will record the beginning of all this. At the age of 6, I started talking about people I never met, I said names I never heard and called people in my sleep while crying and screaming whom I never knew. My parents thought that I was another scared child of whatever scares children at this age and ignored my actions. I grew older and the dreams became more violent, the faces became more recognizable, the names started to ring bells that only I could hear and it became even harder to pretend that I don’t experience all that.
My parents decided to consult a psychologist who silently listened to my story of how I was seeing grown up people fighting scary huge creatures; they were eaten, tortured and killed brutally even when they fought back. I described this hellish world as well as I could only to be diagnosed with hallucinations and early signs of schizophrenia. That’s when I learned the first lesson but not the last lesson in my life. Never share what you saw with anyone but yourself.
Ever since I was young, despite all the nightmares, I have always found my peace wherever there were books, plants or both, and I was such a friendly dork who longed for friends but never had one. I met some children and made some fleeting memories but once I started getting used to them, they would never show interest in my friendship again, well, I can’t blame them now if all my drawings were huge ugly smiling creatures eating little screaming humans, can I? My parents had enough of my madness and I was sent to a mental institution where I was under observation for months without being given real medication due to how young I was. Luckily, the doctors noticed that I was younger than the usual age when schizophrenic patients show any reliable signs ; My parents never visited me though, they called once a week but never cared to show up even on my birthday in September I received a short call to remind me that I became 10 years old and that they love me and that’s it. I stayed there for six month which I spent reading, digging in the small garden of the institution, getting scolded by the nurses, reading and digging again and the life went on. The doctor who was responsible for my case was fascinated by my behavior, he made sure to test my mental state and abilities quite often and I remember his kind and impressed smile after every test, it filled me with joy and pride even if didn’t say it often and that’s when I started to understand that I was exceptionally smart. He kept testing me whenever he had a chance using games, questions, tests and after each session, I got a new book. He became my one and only friend in a place where I was the youngest resident they ever had. He kept trying to ask me about my dreams but I learned my lesson by then and so I denied everything I said earlier with the most innocent and clueless smile I could give. He could never succeed and always smiled accepted my lies with a kind yet disappointed smile.
I spent my days there doing the same things on daily bases or at least that’s how it looked like… Alone in my room, I learned even more from my nightmares. There was a beautiful blond girl called Nanaba, a very tall blond man called Mike, another tall blond man called Erwin and another man called moblit but the most interesting of all was a short, grumpy yet very strong man called Levi. My 10 years old self memorized the names and faces but didn’t have enough memories to know who they were back then until this fateful night when the fire broke out in the floor where I stayed. I still shudder whenever I remember this moment.
Fire scares every living being no matter how fearless they are, we all can agree on this fact but in my case, I was beyond terrified. I was literally burning…alive.
It was as if I was teleported to a different world. I was flying up in the air. The scary giant creatures were there but with a major difference. They were radiating heat and flames, it was impossible to avoid them if you were close enough and yet, I was so close to them that I felt the heat on my skin without touching them. I managed to kill one Then another Then another I was a lot older than myself then, I was stressed, worried and in pain. I kept on slicing the back of their nicks though. After the fourth one, the fire caught my clothes. The last one in the first row who was about to destroy a weird looking plane forced me to ignore the flames that started to burn the ends of strange clothes. I had to kill him or everything will be lost…. The fifth went down. He didn’t fall alone this time; I started to feel the burning sensation climbing my body, getting more and more painful with each passing moment, I screamed when I could not take the pain anymore, I didn’t know for how long I kept falling or screaming. Everything ended as it started, suddenly. I opened my eyes to find myself in another room. No burns, No fire, No scary huge creatures. Dr Ethan, the friendly doctor who kept my stay in the institution as enjoyable as possible was looking at me with an obvious relief on his face: Hana? How are you feeling now? Can you see me and hear me? I looked at my left hand that was wrapped carefully: I am fine Dr, my hand! The fire…What happened?
He kept the same kind smile: it is ok now Hana…You are safe now…your hand was burned when you tried to push the door to escape; only your palm but it wasn’t too serious. I tried to push the door? What door? When?
I asked: I don’t remember that? Where are my parents? Can I call them? My young self could not think of anyone but them at that moment even if they didn’t. I hoped that would be enough for them to take me home. Dr Ethan remained silent for a few seconds then said: Hana…you fainted because of the smoke you inhaled…you have been very brave trying to open the window and even push the door to save yourself…you are impressive as usual but you need to rest now. I remember how angry and scared I was: Dr Ethan I want mommy! I want to tell them that I was going to die! I remember that it was the first time in those six months to cry like the real child I was; I was terrified, confused, tired and scared.
He tried to maintain the same smile: Hana, it is too late at night now…you should sleep and we will call them the first thing in the morning, I promise.
I couldn’t say anything…I nodded quietly so that I can be alone, I didn’t want anyone around me, I only wanted my parents. After he left the room, I kept sobbing silently all night until I learned another harsh lesson in the morning. That's another part of it, I hope my asks don't annoy you, Remember you can always be as honest as you want, I really appreciate your feedback as much as I love your work.
omg don't feel sorry or worried that you annoy me! your work is really good and i'm so honored that you decided to share it with me🥺
and i've gotta say i'm so interested in what happens next! that doctor, he is up to something, right? oh, and that fire! i wonder what was the cause of it? will hange find the others? and what lesson she learned? i'm so, so hooked!

upcoming Furuba stuff I am excited for in the anime based purely on anticipation for anime-only reactions (spoilers obviously)  Rin stuff:  - when Kagura and others start talking about how they haven’t seen Rin in a while and wondering if she is okay and then that shot of the Cat’s room, hehehe people are gonna freak the fuck out  - the cute little thing about how Rin would stay with Kazuma sometimes and Kyo would be jealous and they’d stare daggers at each other and Haru would just watch and there is the image of Haru watching while eating a popsicle they better not cut that moment  - related: Tohru going to hug Rin and her dodging and Tohru hitting the wall  - Rin sneaking into the estate to steal The Box and just in general the fact that Rin keeps trying to do everything on her own and one hugging it out session with Tohru didn’t magically cure her of these issues, I am looking forward to it  - that hella creepy image of Ren latching onto her from behind while she’s sneaking around. anime better give me chills like the manga does.  - the whole confrontation with Haru and Akito. I have seen several anime-onlys in jest way back when say Haru should just go Black and beat the crap out of Akito ... so ... that’ll be fun - Rin going at Kagura for hitting Tohru is a great moment
Yuki stuff:  - very soon. Yuki saying he was looking for a mother in Tohru. a select few anime-only viewers are gonna be popping champagne for their predictions skills - all finally learning what the black paint deal is all about  - Yuki and Kyo’s first meeting, y’all ain’t ready for that heartbreak. also I’m ready for the small number of anime-onlys who still seem to have this impression that Yuki started their rivalry just cause he looks down on Kyo as the Cat to, you know, eat shit. Rat Boy Did Nothing Wrong His Entire Life.  - every Yuki/Machi development but especially keen to see the Return of the Leaf cause everyone better react to that as the preciousness that it is  Kyo stuff:  - NIGHTMARE. BLOOD. Kyoko’s body bloody on the ground turning into Tohru’s body. DID THIS ANIME SUDDENLY BECOME A GOREY HORROR SHOW. yes. yes it did.  Tohru stuff:  - right now I’m especially looking forward to the scene AFTER her convo with Kureno where she collapses, Hana and Uo come to the rescue, it finally gets spelled out that Tohru is breaking under the weight of everyone else’s trauma with the beautiful symbolic imagery of her scarf getting run over by cars and KYO RUNNING INTO THE ROAD TO SAVE IT  - Tohru getting into a fight with Kagura. saying she won’t apologize.  - Tohru seeing her mother in the street behind her after that scene.  - just the increasing realization for everyone that Tohru is trying to hold onto her mother the same way Akito is trying to hold onto the zodiac and it is killing her  - everyone time Tohru yells at someone and tells them to go fuck themselves in the nicest ways possible  Misc stuff:  - Kureno’s curse is already broken. haven’t seen a SINGLE anime-only with even a hint of prediction for that so lbr that is what we should all be looking forward to about that chapter cause Akito’s gender got spoiled for 90% of people already but Kureno’s curse is already broken? and he stays by Akito’s side of his own volition? let that blow y’alls minds  - the whole dream. everything Kureno says that explains the curse more.  - Akito and Shigure tearing each other’s clothes off the second Takaya can let it happen  - Kyoko wasn’t a perfect mother and gave her sweet daughter a huge crushing complex about her own self-worth that is slowly destroying her whoops  - Momiji’s curse breaking and how incredibly heartbreaking it is cause that DOES NOT suddenly mean he can be with his family  - Hiro and Momiji’s growth spurts

Fruits Basket, SE02, Ep23
Love is in the air is the theme of this ep! All kinds of luv~ for everybody!~ kyo/tohru (main), yuki/machi(new!!), rin/haru(on going), Arisa/Kureno (dead-end?), hiro/kisa (babies to luvers...), hana/tohru/arisa (sisters love!) yuki/kakeru (friendship), momiji/tohru (cutest friendship!) kyo/haru (underrated friendship), hana/kyo/arisa (living to tease*torment* you friendship!XD), kyo/kazuma (parental love!), Haru/kisa (big brother care), yuki’s fanclub (toxic love), hana/food (OTP). What an ep!! One of a kind where you start off crying of laughter & end up crying from broken heart!
-Arisa’s second outburst:
The best thing abt this play is that you can’t tell if they’re following a script or not for the most part. XD, However, for some it IS clear when they bring in their personal feelings. Arisa was fine acting her role with improvised jokes on kyo’s expense. However, due to kyo’s refusal to meet the princess, she got angry to the point of screaming in front of the whole school & visitors? The outburst was treated seriously with climatic music, audience reaction, fellow actors surprise & narrator-san pointing out it IS personal & not scripted. But afterwards arisa is fine. Even though I’m not into love at first sight, I acknowledge it exists in fiction & in reality. No problem. But the extreme intensity of kureno/Arisa’s love is higher than everybody’s without enough basis from those two meetings they had before... Sure, she can fall in love with him, wish him to meet her.. but her outburst is too much, too painful, too heartbreaking. However if you look at her outburst as a plot device to get kureno involved once again & complicate things, bingo, you get why it was planted there. Momiji’s footage will reach him. cool. but too forced in my opinion.. everything abt their interaction is too forced, from her first outburst at his few words that got her to cry her heart out & leave the restaurant & get nearly kissed on the lips to her second outburst in front of the entire school. Arisa likes ppl who are tohru-like. The narrative hints that kureno is tohru-like. First, his clumsiness, second? being content with his unjust life? what is tohru-like abt him so far that gets arisa to scream her heart out? I’m sure we’ll see more of his tohru-like qualities. but so far, it comes across too forced for me.
-Machi SEES the real yuki:
It seems that the confirmation that any female is heading to yuki’s heart is to be bullied by yuki’s fans. lol.  Machi not seeing yuki as a prince is her unique thing. Everybody including tohru see him as a prince & put him in a pedestal. In the play yuki descended from the sky, emerged from underground, said deep lines & glowed. Yet, machi saw thro the acting. I was cheering for yuki to step in & put these toxic girls at their place. Machi can be saved by kakeru’s indirect plan, sure, but this toxic behavior has been going since ep1. tohru was saved from them by hana & arisa. Bullying is always used as a plot device in furuba & unfortunately a comedic gag (there’s an entire ep dedicated for the fanclub). Sure furuba isn’t going to fix every issue or even provide solutions. It can’t. it shouldn’t. bullying is one hell of hard issue to solve. furuba wants to use bullying for plot. no problem. but also decides to comment on it quickly? yuki & kakeru’s argument abt the proper reaction towards bullying with each one of them taking an opposite opinion while machi herself is being bullied behind them felt too philosophical & untimely. Only for all this to end with a gag. Yuki is stuck paying the consequence cuz they’re his fans?.. ok. I’d love if the entire scene didn’t involve this argument. For example, yuki finding the girls, him listening to machi’s opinion abt him, him about to step in & defend her, then kakeru makes a prank abt photo-session with yuki, unknowingly saving the situation. Cuz the whole point of the scene is for yuki to know machi is different & sees the real him! Not that I hate how things played out, it is just furuba’s treatment of the issue of bullying is always weird to me. Similar to its treatment of violence, sometimes it’s serious, sometimes it’s comedy.
-Tohru’s best visual presentation ( show-NOT-tell): YES!
I’ve complained plenty abt furuba not treating tohru with enough visual presentation when it comes to hints for her issues or thoughts. but NOT today! This ep is tohru’s heaven! Tohru was torn apart between too many things & she didn’t inner monologue abt anything, YET, the visual imagery was enough to talk in her behalf!!! They showed tohru’s reaction to arisa, they showed tohru noticing haru/rin connection, they showed tohru react to Hana’s words without showing any of her inner thoughts & it works 100%. I’m so satisfied with this kind of treatment. You can show tons of silent emotions & trust the audience to make the correct conclusions without making your character spoon feed the audience on what they’re feeling. Hana’s “ do you plan to keep on deceiving yourself, locked in the castle, until you die?” is too close for comfort! it triggered kyo to react & say exactly his reasoning behind his decision without bringing the real world “ So what if I do? Does it hurt anyone else?” Kyo is sick of believing that he’s causing harm to his loved ones (mother, father, kazuma, kyoko, tohru). He agrees to be locked till death cuz this way no one will be harmed. ONLY him. he thinks he DESERVE it for existing & causing harm to these same ppl. His response prompts tohru to forget herself & react. What did tohru say? ( you are loved? you need to live? don’t hurt yourself? ) NO. It is NOT abt kyo. it IS abt HER!!! It is the (true form ) scene again but this time symbolically with 10 times harsher consequences!!! kyo’s true form’s final scene is NOT abt kyo deciding to stay, it IS abt tohru saying what she wants. That day tohru talked abt HERSELF. “ I want to listen to your complaints cuz u listened to me”. “ I want us to stay together” By demanding things & acknowledging herself, she got kyo to come back. This time, too, she react cuz SHE wants kyo to stay. “ I wouldn’t..” It is ME. I’ll be hurt if you’re locked. it is abt ME. I need you. I want you. I’m too scared to loose you. You’ve been my true support for long time now. Don’t Leave me, too!!!. Tohru stops herself cuz tohru doesn’t allow herself to want things or even acknowledge that she is worthy of things!! Just focus on her dialogue with others “ if I’m not troubling you, it is forward of me, please allow me” she’s talking to her friends! tohru has the lowest self esteem in furuba!
-Kyo, being an expert on reading tohru, knew the rest of the line. Kyo notices she’s in love with him. but again sinners don;t deserve love! You can’t love monsters? you’ll end up hurt!! hello!! tohru bled in the true form ep. he can’t hurt her again!!! NO way!! Enough causing her pain & tears. “ I wont take anything away from you again” he said in ep, 9. So, kyo forces himself to NOT see the truth. Forces his eyes to close tight. He’s an expert on that. Last ep, his eyes were forced to open to the reality that he doesn’t really hate yuki, but hates himself. Now, you want him to un-hate himself a little & acknowledge tohru’s love? if he did, where will it lead to? they’ll both confess & live together without him telling her abt kyoko?? that’s deceit! Him telling her abt kyko? she won’t forgive him, she’ll hate him! it is better to leave with happy memories than leave after causing tohru harm. Heck! tohru forgiving him or not IS not the issue, at all. the issue is HIM. he can’t forgive himself. he’s unforgivable!
-The most tragic Foreshadowing: (Symbolism DONE Right!)
They meet after the semi-confession, things are not the same anymore! they try to awkwardly get back to normal. Kyo says “ it couldn’t be, (I won’t let my self think it)” we know why. tohru says “ I wont (let my self think it)” WHY?!!! what is the show hiding for tohru? we know kyo’s issue. it is the BEST untold issue!! but tohru? What is stopping her more than her denying herself? it gotta be convincing & deep. otherwise, the writer would ruin the best complicated emotional dilemma that she is building her climax on! I know I’ll like what’s in store for tohru. No way such writer will miss on this. This will be EPIC. The tear between them is one of furuba’s greatest visual symbolism. One image only causing enough heartache to balance & take away the laughter from the entire ep!! One image leaving you with a punch in the gut. leaving you frustrated as to “Nooooooo~ stop! get back together”. I’m not usually into romance as I’m not a romantic person, but furuba has weaved this tale of emotionally abused children with traumatic experiences & tied them together with faint romantic direction & one of the best slow burns in anime! steadily building up their romantic connection without making it forced or in your face or apparent. I still can’t pinpoint when it first happened! Well-done writer & anime team. 10/10 scene!
Side Notes:
Narrator-san is the BEST! He kept everybody in check! & did it in style!
I’d like to thank the director for bringing their A+ animators to this ep! Kyo mostly looks hot & handsome but not HD, but there’s this kyo animator that kills the kyo animation!! kyo’d have three long strands of hair on his nose & his eyes would have more light animation than the mono-light. You can TELL the eps they bring this animator on! (such as Se01,Ep5, kagura ep, etc. ) & tohru!!!! my girl was done right!!!! no weird animation, no extra small baby hands, no shoulders that start around chest area, no bangs that are drawn like they suddenly ran out of brown ink mid coloring! lol. yuki is pretty & HD in every ep & so is hana!!
Hana is the prettiest furuba character hands down!
Let’s be honest, yuki could’ve said 1+1=2 & the school would’ve celebrated his wisdom! XD. I kinda wish he’d deliberately say sth stupid jst for the heck of it. part of breaking the perfect yuki image. XD.
The opening gag of the men ogling kisa is the most unnecessary scene in furuba, eww~ Not funny!
why is every character MUST be part of romantic couple in furuba? Even children? & they have their own mini love complications with jealousy & misunderstanding, pinning & all. lol
Kazuma. that’s it. that’s the note.
Hana was mocking fiction tropes (animosity in families, traditions pressuring youth, helpless heroine, love at first sight! XD, romance for romance, happily ever after romance, main male protagonist loving main female protg, magical beings saving the day). Best play ever!
why does it feel like kyo just came from war? XD. He was in last ep. perhaps cuz he was absent for most of the season after kagura’s ep, with cameos here & there, few lines & not much focus. But they made up for it & brought his face expressions game up! from annoyed, cat ears, love struck, teased, blushing, a white cartoon-ish cat with an orange cat inside his mouth, shirtless hot, childish jealousy for his papa, his fangs, his cat reflexes. Name it & you bet there’s a kyo face for it. XD.
Speaking of funny faces, prince yuki got one today! all thanks to machi. that’s what I call women power! XD.
What is this weird skin-colored thingi? school mascot?
I love that hiro is questioning the play. XD
momiji is back, I feel that it’s been long as I last saw him!
haru is hot. Haru is kind.
I love the small awkward tension between kyo/tohru as they met after the play, tohru’s faint sweat drops as she does her closed eyes smile & kyo’s sweat drop as he takes the food from her & talks abt shisho.
Shisho & kyo mini manga. is it published yet?
kyo & hana’s interactions are life!!!! XD.
Ayame deserves praise! costumes on point!!
Hana wins the one liners game. sorry haru, XD.
You know it is serious when kyo monologues! I used to think, it happens ONCE a season (ture form SE01,Ep24, akito confrontation, SE02,Ep,9)!! but he got one or two inner monologues lines today, if you count him repeating tohru’s line! Sh*t is going down! Will I hear more before the season ends???!! or will the honor goes to tohru?!! I can’t even imagine what’ll happen next!!!!

Hooooooly. He’s asking me to move in with him? I swallowed thickly before answering him. “It’s a huge decision.” I said, eyes warily staring at him. “Are you sure about this?”
“Hundred percent sure. I’ve never wanted anything more than to spend my whole time with you, eat with you, study with you, wake up next to you in the morning..” then he slowly leaned in to my ears. “Make love to you every night..” he added, voice so low and sexy at the same time.
I swear I could hit orgasm just by hearing his words- with the combination of his raspy voice. When he goes full on low, sensual and raspy voice- he’d had me at his mercy.
I smacked his arm when I saw him smirked.
“Think about it.” He said as his hands softly went up and down my arms, giving me warmth.
“What about your parents?”
“My mom’s fine. She actually likes you.” He winked at me.
My heart leapt hearing that. “Really? You talked to her about me?” I asked eagerly.
“I don’t know.” He smirked which earned another smack in the arm from me.
“She.. supports me. She always does.” He smiled fondly. “About my dad.. I’ll deal with him but he should know that he has no rights over my love life. I’m pretty sure my mom can make him change his mind. If he’s still stubborn though,” he leaned in and gave me a light peck at the corner of my mouth, “we’ll see.”
My hands traveled across his chest and towards his abdomen, admiring all the curves in the right places. My favourite part of all was perhaps the sensual and perfectly sculpted curve on each side of his hips. The curves were so deep I wondered what kind of exercises were needed to get that perfect V.
“Jimin...” I called.
“Hmm?”
“Why do you like me?”
He looked down at me, perhaps wondering where the conversation is going. “Hmm.. Love at first sight, maybe? I don’t know. Do I need a reason to like someone?” He tapped my chin lightly.
I frowned, not satisfied with his answer.
He knew I was dissatisfied. He always knew. Because he continued to answer, “I don’t know.. when you first look at me, for the first time ever, since you’d never once look at my way, I just felt so.. naked. As if you could see right through me, right through my weaknesses. And you weren’t at all like the other girls.. you’re smart, you’re strong, you’re gorgeous, you’re hot as fuck, you’re fucking intelligent, you’re independent, you have this no bullshit personality, you’re charming, you’re beautiful, the list is endless. And for the first time in my life, I felt insecure- about a girl. And I never did,” he laughed.
I rolled my eyes. Vain and self-centredness confirmed.
“I thought that I wasn’t good enough which was why I kept my distance. Then high school went by and now we’re in the university together.. and suddenly you’re my study partner. I was so blown away at first I didn’t know how to react which was why when you came up to me, I told you you don’t have to do it.”
I nodded, remembering the bitter memory. “I still hate you for that, you know.”
He chuckled. “Study sessions with you were pure torture.”
I raised my brows.
“You had no idea.. the amount of self control I had to exert being around you. Although thank God you’re always so immersed in studying you never noticed me staring.”
“Oh God- you’re such a pervert!”
He chuckled but then turned serious again. “I wanted you.. I so badly wanted you.. so please, for God’s sake..” he leaned forward, eyes intent against mine, “don’t ask me to go.”
I stared back at him. “I don’t want you to go either.”
I watched as relief washed over his face.
I laced my fingers with his. Then I leaned forward slightly to kiss him deeply. He replied me instantly.
I knew this would be hard for him and of course, the easy way would be just to let him go. As much as I don’t want to make things difficult for him, I knew I myself don’t have the strength to let him go. Now I knew it’s the same for Jimin too. We both had develop a feeling so strong for each other and we both knew being away would only break us both. I felt him smile under my kiss.
I pulled away and yeap, he was smiling down at me. His soft, angelic smile that melts my heart all the time.
I smiled too, unknowingly. “Why are you smiling?”
He was still for a moment. His gaze fixated on mine. “Because I love you.” He said softly.
I went still. I could feel my heart was racing. The impact the words had on me. I was in euphoria hearing those words escaping his lips. Although he did say those words a few minutes ago, but that could be in the spur of the moment while we’re having sex. But this time it’s different. His eyes were full of love and adoration as he uttered those words.
He regarded my expression for a moment. He was wary of my reaction. Then his expression turned worry as I felt tears escaped from my eyes. “Baby? Babe? Why are you crying again..?” He quickly cupped my cheeks trying to make me look at him.
I shook my head. Then I smiled looking at him. “I’m crying.. because I’m so happy.” I said in tears.
I saw his shoulders visibly relaxed and he looked so fondly at me I felt like breaking down again. “I love you.” He said it again, this time more confidently.
“I love you too.” I replied simply. And I watched as his face lit up.
To be able to love Park Jimin... was happiness.
But to be loved by Park Jimin... it was pure bliss.
JIMIN’S POV
“Dad, I told you I already have a girlfriend!” I yelled over the table. “I swear if you don’t want to lose me- your only son, you better stop asking me to marry her.” I jutted my chin towards Nara who was sitting beside me, her fork and spoon already set down, her appetite gone due to my outburst but I didn’t care.
“Park Jimin.” My mother said tersely, trying to remind me to be respectful.
“Fine. Then bring her over for dinner. I wanna see this girl.”
“You already met-“ I was cut off immediately.
“Properly this time.” He said with a glare.
“No!” Nara cried. “Mr Park! You can’t be doing this to me!”
“Nara, honey.. I’m not trying to take any sides..” my mom started and she started to reach for Nara’s hand from across the table. “But I honestly think you’d be wasted if you’re with my son... you deserve someone better than my ass of a son.”
“Mom!” My mouth agape at my mom’s words but when I looked at her, she winked at me. Nara didn’t seem to notice.
When she had left, I went towards my mom and made sure we were out of father’s earshot.
“I had never really like Nara.” She made a face. “Too cocky for her own good.”
I raised one brow at my mom. I swore my mom’s the coolest person in the world.
“Of course I never think you’d be a waste with Hana. Rather, I think she’s too good for you. You better not waste her.” She glared at me.
I tried to hide my smile. “Yes, maam.”
KIM HANA’S POV
I woke up when I sensed someone playing with my hair.
“You don’t have anything to do tonight right?”
My brain was half-awake but my eyes were still tightly glued although the sun already set its ray on my face.
“You don’t have anything right?” He asked again. When I still didn’t answer, he planted a kiss on my cheek.
“Hmmm.....” was the only thing that came out of my mouth. I wanted to sleep some more. Spending the night with Jimin meant total exercise time. I need to recuperate.
“Let’s go on a date today.” He nuzzled my ears.
“Mmm...”
“Let’s do some shopping...” he kissed the corner of my mouth.
“Mmm...”
He chuckled. “We’ll have dinner with my parents tonight.” He said softly as he kissed my shoulder blade.
Dinner... parents... what? My eyes shot opened. I sat up so suddenly Jimin was slightly startled. Then he laughed when he saw my panicked face.
“What did you say?” My eyes went round.
“I was going to tell you when you’re fully awake but since you’re not waking up and you won’t even listen to my words....” he smiled.
“I mean- why are we suddenly- I mean-“
He chuckled again. His fingers casually grazing my exposed chest. I realized my whole naked upper body was exposed to his sight. I quickly placed my hands on my chest to cover them. I have no idea why being naked in front of Jimin while we are not fucking each other’s brains out still made me shy.
He looked up at me. His expressions soft as he casually loosen my hand and move it away.
“Why are you so shy..” he ran his fingers slowly over the expanse of my chest, down towards my breast, making me shudder.
I got up immediately. “Okay okay. I’ll get up.”
I rolled my eyes at the sound of him chuckling.
“What about this one?” He lifted an off-shoulder white blouse.
“No! I’m not wearing an off-shoulder to see your parents! They’d think I’m seducing you or something.”
“But you do seduce me all the time though.”
I looked up and saw him smirking. “I hate you.” I mumbled then went to a different rack of clothing. Ugh.. I don’t have much time left.. I really need to pick something out. Wish Ah Young was here to help me out! But she’s in Taiwan right now, with Eun Woo. Apparently his business there got extended and he missed my best friend so much so he asked her to fly there. I groaned.
“What about this one?”
I looked over my shoulder to see him lifting a short black dress.
“Are you kidding me? Your parents would think I’m a slut.” I shook my head but not before I saw him pouting.
I held two of the floral dress on both of my hands. “Pick one?” I asked him.
“Just take both. I’ll pay.” He said non-committally.
Ugh! Jimin is so not helping when shopping. Honestly, jeez.
“Ugh why don’t you just pick up something quickly then! Hana, honestly, you could be wearing a whole sack and my mom would still watch you with star eyes.”
“But not your dad.” I replied petulantly. Oh, a blue blouse caught my eye.
He didn’t say anything. Obviously, because I’m right. I picked up the blouse from the rack and immediately fell for it. All right! That’s it. I’ve made my choice.
So we were back out on the streets of Hongdae, and the skies were already darkening although it’s merely late afternoon since it was winter and daytime was generally shorter. My hands were mostly full with bags of all sorts of branded outfits and handbags and shoes and everything to which Jimin had so generously paid for everything.
I had planned to buy one or two new tops but Jimin had dragged me to all kinds of stores and bought everything that my gazes lingered at for more than five seconds. When I complained about my small apartment and how I would have no space, he only said, “Good. Then you have no choice but to move to mine then.”
“Oh, let’s go in there!”
I looked over to the direction he’s pointing at and gasped in horror.
“Oh my god no!” It was a lingerie shop.
“Why~ come on~ you need new ones so you can keep it at my apartment. You seriously want to pack things over all the time?” He said but there’s a twinge of amusement on his face. He was teasing me! His hand grabbed my wrist.
I stared at him incredulously. “Jimin! Are you kidding me? I’m not going into a lingerie shop with you!” I pulled out of his grip immediately and started walking away with him laughing behind me. God, damn it. I may be in love with him, but he’s still a jerk and a pervert through and through.
I was pretty sure I had been fidgeting with my thumb for more than five minutes now.
“Come now, it’s cold babe. How long are you going to stand there for?”
I looked up. Now that I’m right in front of the entrance door, the house looked so much bigger. It’s time now. But I could feel my hands trembling. The urge for flight almost swallowing me whole.
Ah, what on earth am I thinking now?
“Baby?” Jimin held his hand out to me.
Slowly, I took his hand and he led me inside.
“Welcome home, Jimin.” An elderly lady of perhaps about 50-ish of age greeted us. Her hair was mostly grey, tied up in a slightly messy bun.
“Oh, ahjumma!” Jimin let go of my hand and went to hug her. “I haven’t see you in so long.”
“Then perhaps you should come home more often.” She scolded him.
“Hehe~” he flashed him his million dollar eyesmile and the elder lady beamed back at him. His effect on everyone was immediate.
“Your girlfriend?” She asked him gently, glancing at me and I smiled back awkwardly.
“Oh, yeah ahjumma!” He pulled me towards him. “Ahjumma, this is Kim Hana, and Hana, this is my second mother.”
“Ah~ what are you talking about, Jimin. Madam would feel hurt if she heard you.”
Jimin rolled his eyes. “Pretty sure you took care of me more than my own mom throughout my whole life.”
The ahjumma just shook her head at him, though her lips was smiling fondly.
“Is that Jimin..?” A melodic voice rung out through the foyer. Holy shoot. That’s his mother’s voice.
I’ve met her before at the not-so-fortunate encounter with Jimin’s parents at his house before, but this time it was different and I obviously still felt nervous.
A gorgeous looking lady peeked through the hallway. It had been awhile since I last met her but as she sauntered towards us, she didn’t seem to age at all and I couldn’t help but stare at her beauty. Her hair was tied up in a slightly messy bun, but she was still stunning nevertheless. Just like Jimin, she had a pair of pretty single eyelid eyes, her irises shining before they were completely gone as she beamed at us. She’s probably whom Jimin gotten his eyesmile from.
His mother went towards us without taking her eyes off her son. She then engulfed Jimin in a hug immediately and he returned it without hesitation.
“Aigooo~ why is it so hard to meet my own son nowadays?”
“Mom, stop being dramatic. You saw me last week.” Jimin said as they parted.
“That was for only 2 seconds, you idiot.” His mother rolled his eyes. Her eyes then flickered towards me and all sense of nervousness came swallowing me whole again. “Nice to see you again Hana dear.” She smiled at me then held out her hands towards me.
I went into her embrace immediately. “How are you, Mrs. Park?”
She let go of me immediately. “Aigoo, I told you to call me eomoni right?”
Ah, crap, yes she did ask me to call her that before. I bowed my head slightly apologetically.
She softened immediately. “I was wondering when I could see your face again.”
“Me too, eomoni.”
She linked her arms with me and tugged me forward as she turned on her heels. “Come, let’s head to the dining area immediately. Everything had been set up.”
She led me towards the dining area and I was simply mesmerized by the exquisite interior of Jimin’s house as well as the sheer vastness of it. The floor and the wall were everything marble. The lighting and chandeliers all looked like they worth more than my whole life insurance.
“Come, have a seat.” Jimin’s mother said as we reached the dining area. I almost dropped my jaw at the luxurious finishing of the dining area; filled with golden details, crystal chandelier as well as upholstered dining chairs. My broke ass can’t relate with Jimin. Can’t at all.
“Are you sure I can do nothing to help in the kitchen?” I noticed Jimin was gone and I tried hard not to panic.
She just smiled at me. “Next time, maybe. I need to show off my cooking skills first.” She winked and I laughed.
“Aigoo, where did my idiot son go leaving the guest alone?”
I chuckled. “It’s fine, eomoni.”
“Just a minute, okay? We’re almost done at the back.”
I nodded. When she disappeared to the kitchen, I had the entire privilege to admire the lavish looking interior that lit up the house.
Suddenly I felt a pair of hands went to my eyes to disrupt my sight and I gasped. But then I smelled the familiar smell. The one I’ve grown so familiar with.
“Ya~” I pouted.
“You okay?” He asked. “Told you everything would be fine.”
I rolled my eyes. “I literally only met your mother.”
He dropped his hands with a chuckle. Then his hands went to snake around my shoulders and he leaned in to peck me briefly on my cheeks.
I felt my face heating up instantly. “Yah!” I smacked his arms. This is his house for God’s sake, where his parents lived in, which means it’s a sacred place. I glared at him to which he just tightened his arms around me.
A sound of someone clearing their throat made me jump. We both turned to see Jimin’s dad entering the dining area and my whole body turned stiff and my blood running cold.
“Hey dad.” Jimin said then proceeded to take his seat beside me. I smiled awkwardly at his father and he replied with a simple nod.
“Oh, you’re here!” Mrs. Park appeared from behind the kitchen holding a bowl that I immediately got up and took it from her. She smiled gratefully at me. “I thought you were still in your studies.”
Two other helpers, one of them the elderly that Jimin greeted at the door came and filled the tables with various dishes. Everything smelled good and my mouth watered at the sight.
Jimin’s mom came to sit across me. She then helped to fill up her husband’s plate and my heart practically swelled at how loving they looked.
“Come on, Hana. Eat to your heart’s content.” She said as she handed me the bowl of rice. I muttered a thanks and proceeded to fill Jimin’s plate, mirroring his mother’s action in hope to score some points. Jimin just smiled indulgently at me.
And then soon the table was filled with the sounds of us munching our food, the clinking cutleries and the few conversations here and there.
“So your name is Kim Hana?” Jimin’s father spoke up and my entire brain suddenly went blank. My name? Was he asking my name?
“Y-yes.” I stuttered.
“What does your parents do?”
“Ey yeobo. Why would you ask that? You’re making her uncomfortable..” Mrs. Park said.
My brain racked the memory lane in my head. Didn’t Mrs. Park asked me that too before?
“Um.. my mother’s an English teacher.”
“Oh yes! I’ve already asked her before!” Mrs. Park cut in. “Isn’t it amazing, yeobo? It was my dream job when I was young. Do you remember that?”
Mr. Park didn’t reply.
“Ooh, I’m looking forward to meeting your mother! I’ve tons of things to ask. You know, I plan on doing volunteers to teach kids as well, I’m stuck in this house, not having anything to do.” Perhaps Mrs. Park was talking so much to prevent her husband from asking me about my father. “Right, yeobo?”
Her husband just shook her head at her. His father seemed slightly cold, but I could see that he was actually very warm and attentive towards his wife and even towards Jimin.
“What about your father?”
Shoot. The plan failed. I could see Mrs. Park’s expression stiffened. Now I felt bad for her. After all they should know one way or another. But I haven’t told Jimin either.. I sighed. This won’t be good. “My father and my mom divorced.” I swore Jimin’s head turned towards me in a milisecond. “I’m... not sure what he’s currently doing.”
Jimin’s father didn’t ask me anything else after that. Jimin on the other hand was in pure shock (obviously since I told him my father’s dead) but I could see him trying to control his expression.
The time went by quickly, as I realized it.
Jimin’s father no longer held an interview session with me. The entire session was filled with Mrs. Park teasing Jimin about his childhood though.
“So, are you planning to marry Hana, Jimin-ah?” His father suddenly spoke and all sorts of conversations stopped. My whole body went cold.
Mrs. Park immediately placed her hands on top of her husband’s. “Yeobo, I don’t think this is the right time to ask-“
“I’m just asking, whether your son is serious about marriage.”
I watched Jimin straightened up. “Yes, dad.”
His father didn’t reply immediately. He took a sip of his drink. “Alright then. As long as you know the responsibility that comes with the deal.”
Deal? Did his father just said a deal? What kind of deal? I looked at Mrs. Park for clues but she appeared calm so perhaps she already knew about it?
I guess it wasn’t just me with secrets then.

Tumblr media
heeyoo everyone ! i’m ume ( 21+, she/her, pst! ) and this is my first muse here ! i’ve been eyeing this place for a while but only got enough time recently to really be able to join so i’m supes excited to be here !!! anyway enough with the ice-breaker-esque intro, this is hana  🖤  ( yves fc ) and she’s quite the pain in the ass bc she has quite the longest stick in her ass lmfao! her profile is right here, but it’s ridiculously long ( not that this isn’t ridiculously long but wtv ) so if you don’t want to get a headache .... mb read the below deets first ? i’d reaaaaaaaally love to plot with everyone, i’d much prefer it over twitter (@nagisasgf) or via discord ( feel free to ask! ) rather than tumblr dms, if possible. but if you’d also like to plot, feel free to like this and i’ll zoom by for some one on one time ! 🤪🤪🤪
TW WARNINGS CHILD ABUSE, VIOLENCE, BLOOD, NSFW
meet cho hana
again, cho hana: 21 y/o ( 11/11/98 ), toseong senior majoring in transfiguration, minor in herbology
she’s also in these clubs: chess club (co-president), debate club, and herbology club!
her mother chose her clubs and her major, hana chose her minor and the herbology club
born and raised in seoul, south korea! she’s also a mahoutokoro graduate
she was a ‘accident’, her father is severely out of the picture to the point that hana doesn’t even know his name / whereabouts or questions about him because her mother never told her about him at all and hana just accepted it ( aka her mother has a very tight reign on hana’s life )
speaking of her mother, her mother is a famed auror who fell from grace when she got pregnant with hana
because of her pregnancy with hana, she had to retire early and thus dedicated her entire life making sure hana didn’t make the same mistakes she did and was just as smart, talented and envied as ahyoung had been
this makes for a very restrained childhood, where all hana knew was studying, studying and more studying
also if it isn’t obvious, hana has serious mommy issues to the point that she’s disillusioned herself into thinking everything is okay when it’s not
( TW FOR CHILD ABUSE )
whenever her mother was displeased with something, she’d physically abuse hana -- it began when hana would get things wrong, if she didn’t get the right grades or failed to make the top of her class but then it started to extend to embarrassing her mother by saying or doing the wrong things
( END TW )
it’s pretty bad because hana thinks, still, if she works hard enough she can somehow gain her mother’s love
ever since she was young, hana was conditioned to strive for the best, because she was ‘cho ahyoung’s daughter’ she could do it, to the point that it not only inflated hana’s ego, it also really fucked up her self-esteem and how she she’s her own self-worth
a lot of people think she’s a ‘genius’ or ‘prodigy’ because of her academic history but she’s literally the opposite, she works way too hard for her grades but her mother wants her to pretend she’s a genius because she thinks it’s embarrassing that her own daughter isn’t a natural-born genius like she is
i, hana
this bitch has Big Tsun vibes if you know it you know it 🤪
like she’ll geniunely care but she’s also HEAVES BIG SIGH BC ???? WHY ??? WHAT ARE THESE FEELINGS ???
she’s such a priss, and she knows it -- that’s why i say she has a stick up her ass bc she does
she’s definitely not a wild card, she’s very by the book, rules and all, sure -- she tries not to fault people if they’re not the same as her but if you go out of your way to be stupid, you’ll be getting an ear-full
probably the most put-together person you know, organized, meticulous, looks like she has her life all together? yeah that’s cho hana
her outfits of choice are hot librarian chic, if you must know -- yes, she owns sweater vests and layers her clothes, and yes she thinks they’re sexy
she’s not mean, but she’s also not unreasonably nice off the gate ???? she’s just really civil and mutual ??? mostly she’ll fake smile at you but in her head she’s like ‘i’m with stupid’
no, but if you’re really dumb / do something really dumb she’ll call you out on it without filter
she’s a very type-A personality, but she wasn’t always like this. if anything, she was made to be this way and it kind of stuck. she carries around a planner ( no, not those bullet journal crap ) an actual planner with real dates, a to-do list and scheduled sessions written for almost every minute of every day. if she loses this, she’ll practically shut down
hana doesn’t love control, she needs it -- if anything, without it, she can get a little antsy, so much that it kind of fucks with her fragile ego ( you can thank her mother for the need to be in control bc her mother literally controls every aspect of her life )
if she’s upset, she’ll probably grin through it before quickly excusing herself to go throw vases at the walls or tear flowers to shreds in the greenhouse
if you need someone to critically tear down your confidence and dish reality’s terrible news to you, hana’s probably the person you need
you can probably find hana in 3 places if she’s not in her dorm: studying in the library, crying in the greenhouse, or smoking at the pool of universe
she’s praised as some kind of genius or prodigy, but hana thinks it’s more of an insult than a compliment because she's neither. she won’t deny it but you can probably instantly see the way her demeanor changes towards you when you call her either of those things
this bitch should go on jeopardy with all the useless information she keeps on hand from all her studying, tbh. like she’d be leading a normal conversation with her friends, and if it’s remotely related, she’d randomly insert it into the conversation as if it was something normal like asking about the weather.
not one to go out looking for trouble, but much like a vulture – she follows it. perhaps it’s her desire to be praised, to feel needed, whatever – but in her group of friends, could probably be seen as the moral compass, if not, the person who’s cleaning up everyone’s messes ( or holding their hair while they puke their guts out )
needed connects
childhood friends who know how hana’s mom is, and all the stress she puts on her ( but not the bad things that happen at home ) and try to help her through her issues but hana’s like ‘no, it’s not your problem, it’s okay’ but this friend won’t give up because they hate to see hana so stressed and sad and frustrated and just want the best for her!!!!
give her friends who want to loosen her up because she’s literally so fuCKING RIGID, she needs to live a little but hana is literally like fuck that shit i need to study my ass off or else i’ll lose my place ( but really she’d probably not lose her place, she’s just delusional )
ppl she can actually break down in front of bc she feels stress keeping up w everyone’s expectations of who she is and she’s kind of SIck of pretending to be this Perfect Person but she keeps it up bc it’s better than hearing the nasty things about her
give me a good tension-filled rivals plot, this bitch is honestly so hyper-competitive it’s ridiculous, we’d just love someone to go ‘chill tf out you bitch, but oh yeah look how i steal rank 1 from you’
TOSEONG SENIOR PREFECT LOCKED ! so, hana worked extra hard junior year in order to get senior prefect ( or even head girl ) but since she got neither, hana is a) pissed and b) bitter because now she has her mother breathing down her neck for not getting either positions, but her mother’s wrath adds even more : ) unnecessary : ) stress and that stress : ) gets unreasonably taken out on that toseong senior prefect
exes who couldn’t keep up with her -- hana always puts her relationships second to her academic priorities and it comes to a point where she’ll put studying/getting ahead before hanging out with her significant other, and it has always been this way ; she’s also just never able to properly put her feelings into proper words so she’s always just ... Repressed
someone give her a love where she ALMOST threw everything away for but at the last minute didn’t -- OR BETTER YET she was so ready to do it but the s/o was like Sike! and she was left devastated and her already vulnerable feelings got even worse to the point that she closed herself off
HERBOLOGY CLUB MEMBER LOCKED ! ( could be a junior year or above! ) hana wasn’t always in the herbology club, but she joined her sophomore year after a brush of fate. after getting really bad results on her DADA exam, and fearing what her mother would say/do, she finds solace in the greenhouse ( she’s been there several times bc of her minor and finds it empty at certain hours ) and begins ripping up the plants. your muse can find hana and scold her / console her / etc. but somehow the interaction ends with your muse convincing hana to join the herbology club
( TW NSFW )
someone pls fuck her against a bookcase, just a thought
rivals but fwb ( can also be paired with the connect from above! )
( END TW )
hana secretly smokes. she doesn’t fault anyone who does, hana just thinks it’s a bad habit for herself and if her mother knew, she knew she’d never hear the end of it. so, enter your muse either they found her while they themselves were looking for a smoke or just happened upon her -- either way they found out hana smokes and it can end in either a ) hana doesn’t give a shit and ends up having smoking dates with them or b ) hana fucking fears for her life and exchanges something in order for you to keep your mouth shut
( TW ABUSE, VIOLENCE )
PRE-ESTABLISHED FRIENDS PLOT REQ ! but your muse mistakenly walks in on hana and her mother in the middle of a heated argument. you finally see hana being the submissive person you Don’t know her to be and in the nick of time you see her mother slap the shit out of her. you try to talk to hana but don’t know what to say -- shockingly enough -- you don’t need to say anything because hana just breaks down and it kind of just makes sense. from there, your muse will probably be the only person hana goes to about her mommy issues, especially when hana’s mom makes her ‘surprise’ visits to campus to check up on her
( END TW )
hana isn’t a bad drinker, if anything -- she’s pretty good at keeping her alcohol in check. however, you aren’t -- so here she is, holding your hair, holding your arm, or helping you back to your dorm room. either way, she’s here to take care of you and in the morning, lecture you for your almost alcohol intoxication scare
as top of her class, hana isn’t unfamiliar to tutoring others, if anything, a lot of her professors actually ask her to do so -- pairing her with several of their students at one time. maybe you’re one of the students she tutors?
someone who envies how well hana does in school, and is constantly praised for it -- maybe hates her for it? idk -- something spicy i guess or going so far to say how easily it comes to hana and kind of undermines the hard work hana actually does and hana either takes it or blows up at them for it bc that shit is annoying as fuck
toseong house cute plots bc hana isn’t really all that cute but like she tries ... she wants affection but won’t go out of her way to ask for it??? bitch has problems i swear
toseong house not so cute plots ( could also be relevant to any not from toseong ) who are just sick of hana’s genius bullcrap and want to take her down a notch !!!!! my ass heavily wanting this bc who doesn’t love a muse in pain / agony ; could also apply as a rivals / hate plot idk
( TW BLOOD )
HEALING MAJORS LOCKED ! your muse catches hana in the middle of her rage episodes. she unceremoniously is wreaking havoc somewhere and ends up breaking glass to the point that she ends up bleeding. your muse chances upon her -- sees that she’s bleeding and offers to patch her up. whether or not she fesses up to why she ended up this way, can be determined!
( END TW )

The Game of Love - Chapter 1
Since I have a bad tendency to obsess over what I write until I give up on it, I’m posting the first chapter of something new I’ve been dabbling with. Think of it like an original Down the Voltage Rabbit Hole, without the characters you know.
Tumblr media
Meeting someone special is hard for anyone, but more so when you’re famous.
I can’t tell you when it was that I went from being Hana to being Hana on a billboard, but it happened slowly enough that I went from eating virtually unnoticed at a restaurant to being bombarded with selfie requests during the short time I picked up my food. I suppose that being one of the youngest women to ever win a Grand Slam will force you into the spotlight, but I’ve never thought of myself as a superstar.
The goal had always been to win gold at the Olympics.
Maybe Roland Garros.
And Wimbledon.
The U.S. and Australian Open if I was lucky.
They never told me that if you win the Australian Open and then manage to win the others in the same year, the world goes mad. They never told me that Nike, Adidas, and Reebok fall all over themselves trying to get you to agree to let them put out the “Hana shoe” and you go from being a struggling journeywoman on the tour to being richer than you ever could have imagined, thanks mostly to your team who milks you for every free moment when you’re not on the court.
You learn how to wear dresses and talk on camera and carry the weight of what it means to be a champion, constantly looking over your shoulder at the younger, hungrier crowd behind you that works twice as hard and trains harder because they don’t need to be on Good Morning America when you do. Your identity becomes “Hana the Tennis Champion” and you forget who you were when you were just “Hana, the girl who loves tennis” – hitting balls after dinner with dad on the courts by your house or joking around with the girls on the junior tour.
Those girls become competition, and your friendship is forced to change despite wanting it to be the way it was when things were simpler. They are nice and you love them, but the feelings are complicated and you forget what it means to have friends who see you as you are. There is always a commitment, a show, a movie, a project, a product – even during the off season, and of course, there’s the training.
You’re grateful to be successful doing what you love, but you know it can’t last forever and one day you decide you want to go out on top and announce that you’re done with the game that up until this point has been your entire life.
And you’re only 32.
I’m only 32.
The day after I retired I woke up as Hana, for the first time in 20 years. I suppose it’s out of habit that I still wake up at 7 A.M. and go for a run, but it’s been a few months and not much has changed.
My mom suggested I get a therapist.
That this major transition would be hard on anyone, but even harder on a prodigy who has been used to a regimented training schedule since she was 11.
I laughed it off, but after a couple of weeks I could feel the unease nagging at me, mocking me, asking me, “Who is Hana if there is no tennis?”
My therapist says a lot of high achieving people struggle with their self-worth outside of their profession. She challenged me to reconnect with friends I’d made at all stages of my life and I learned that being great at one thing left little time for love, creativity, music, and hobbies.
I also learned that I didn’t make many friends in my 32 years since I was too focused, too dialed in to waste time on anything outside of the goal. To be the best in the world I had taken on the mentality that everything outside of my goal was superfluous, but now I struggle to make it through the day.
“Who is Hana if there is no tennis?”
“I am…I am…”
“What are you feeling Hana?” my therapist asks.
“Scared. Confused. Angry. Lost.”
I’d had this rosy image of retirement, where I’d leisurely wake up next to a partner and make breakfast for us. Not just any partner if I’m being honest…him.
“I wake up at 7 A.M. and run 5 miles,” I find myself saying. “Then I make a breakfast smoothie. And then I remember that I don’t have anywhere to be and the depression takes over.”
“Have you been doing interviews?”
I shrug, “Not as many. They asked me to do commentary for the U.S. Open this year and I said I’d think about it.”
“What is your hesitation?”
I pause, thinking about what it would be like to live a tournament without participating in it. To see and comment on someone’s legacy that wasn’t my own. To one day have to announce that I’d been dethroned in my achievements and smile as if it didn’t bother me, when I’d probably just wonder if I’d retired too early.
“I never wanted to be on television. And I want to be able to answer the question who Hana is if there is no tennis.”
“It sounds like this time is providing you with a beautiful gift – to explore that question and your interests without limitations.”
She’s right, and I feel guilty for pitying myself when I have the freedom to do and go wherever I want. I let out a caustic chuckle and say, “I want to live in my games.”
“The ones you used to play on the road?”
I nod, wondering how serious she thinks I am and wondering if the statement is a joke at all.
“Why do you think you like them so much?”
“It’s fun to be someone who isn’t Hana. And it’s fun to fall in love.”
“Has Hana ever been in love?”
I think for a minute and nod.
“But you knew that, didn’t you?” I ask.
She shrugs and pushes her glasses up.
“I’m asking Hana the person, not Hana the superstar.”
“But our breakup was all over the tabloids…”
“Our time together is about you, not what’s in a tabloid.”
“Superstars have to date superstars. It’s like a law,” I say laughing. “What would Instagram think if I gave them anything other than aspirational?”
I’m lying but I can’t help myself, even in therapy my pride gets in the way of being honest. Dating him was never about appearances, at least, it wasn’t for me.
“Tell me about him.”
Eight years of memories flash in my mind, 22 to 30.
“We met after I won my first major. His movie premiere had him in Australia and he got tickets to the final. We ended up at an after party together and he gave me his number. It was good until it wasn’t and then he broke up with me.”
“That’s a very condensed version.”
I shrug again, feeling bitter that he seems to have moved on just fine and I haven’t dated anyone despite the rumors that pop up from time to time. I don’t feel like talking about how I kept pushing for us to move forward, with a vision for my retirement and life with him as he kept pushing for me to stay on the road. I don’t feel like talking about how much of our time was spent apart and how I suspected he preferred things that way.
That it was better to have a girlfriend too busy to take up more than an hour of his day on a regular basis than a girlfriend who could be present the way she wanted to be when we were together.
A pleasant chime goes off and she silences the alarm, noting we’re out of time and asking if next week works.
“My schedule is free,” I joke, but I feel annoyed that there’s nothing but endless free time and nothing to do with it.
When I’m home I open the games I referenced in therapy – the ones I jokingly call “choose your anime romance adventure games” with my mom versus their proper designation of “otome” games, as they’re known with the fandom online that I’m a part of. It’s only when I’m online that I feel like I can momentarily answer the question that nags at me, and that’s because no one know I’m me.
HanaLovesOtome the tumblr user is popular because of the screenshots she posts, not because she’s one of the most celebrated athletes of a generation.
She participates in every event and has spent an ungodly amount of money on special date stories and lottery gatcha items that put her consistently in the top ten featured users of Ikemen Inc.
She’s popular because people will ask her to purchase stories and games they can’t afford, and she’ll video record herself playing or twitch live stream the sessions so everyone can get a sense of what it’s like to fall in love with Ikemen Inc.’s most exclusive bachelors.
Even when I was on tour, I loved playing otome games because for a couple of hours I could stop thinking about my life and instead lose myself in a world overseas where I get to make choices for a protagonist whose name I’ve made my own as I decide what eligible bachelor she’ll fall in love with.
I’d found the games a year before we’d broken up, mostly by chance after seeing an ad on twitter that boasted, “The Perfect Boyfriend is in your phone - meet him now!” While normally I would have continued to scroll past, something about the caption had stopped me in my tracks. Looking back it was probably because the idea of the “perfect boyfriend” being in my phone was ironic having had such a drawn out long distance relationship in which it often felt that he only existed in my life virtually.
After entering my name for the main character I would be controlling, “Decoding His Affections” thrust me into a world that consisted of a simple illustrated background, paired with a cartoon character sprite whose various expressions matched the dialogue being said in the text box where the story played out.
While the prologue of “Decoding His Affections” was free, it ended with a prompt asking me who out of the five characters I’d just met, I wanted to get to know as my Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department partner and future perfect boyfriend. For the low price of $3.99, I could purchase one of five options and determine how my protagonist would fall in love. Depending on my dialogue selections, I was either granted a “Love Ending!” or a less desired “Happy Ending!”
Throughout the course of 13 interactive chapters, Sebastian went from being my underling, to my partner, and finally, to my boyfriend. As the protagonist with my name started to fall for Sebastian, I found myself enjoying the escape from my reality with a game “self” who always met with a positive response in love.
I soon found myself lost in a world where I could be transparent with my intentions without any fear of rejection. Sebastian clearly liked my main character back, but was conflicted about falling for a woman whose time in Tokyo had an expiration date. Even though their relationship was in a grey zone for the majority of the game, he was always warm, always loving, and most importantly, had responses that gave me butterflies as I read his poetic musings from a cold hotel room after a long day of training.
Seeing as how these games were a product of Japan, in addition to the subdued romance I also found myself getting a kick out of the cultural differences that were peppered throughout the story. Simple gestures such as the time that Sebastian grabbed her hand in order to protect her from an impending explosion, resulted in a shook inner monologue where my heroine wondered if her heart was racing from the danger, or because of the physical contact. There was something sweet about this world in which men and women shared a shyness around physical touching that was unlike anything I’d ever experienced as a Western woman. Handshakes, hugs, and even kisses on the cheek were something that happened in my life on a daily basis, yet I was suddenly living in a world via my phone where every gesture was laced with romantic subtext.
It was clear that the only thing Ikemen Inc. changed in their games was the names of their clearly Japanese love interests, in order to better appeal to a western audience. Other than that, their games remained true to their point of origin.
Looking back, our relationship was already strained with me hinting towards my expiration date and him pushing me to stay on the tour. The day I’d played my first otome game we were bickering over text about it, him convinced it would be better for both of us if I refocused on my career instead of settling down with him in his Calabasas home. As I achieved Sebastian’s coveted “Love Ending!” thanks to my carefully selected dialogue choices, I surprised myself by tearing up in which I read an ending where Sebastian confessed to me, or moreover the woman I whose life I was intermittently controlling, his undying love.
I’d felt a bit foolish at the time, having fallen prey to simple plot devices and romantic tropes, however Sebastian had done something for me that my relationship could not.
He’d managed to touch that part deep in my heart that still wanted to believe that romance was possible in this world, and more importantly, was possible for me.
In the weeks to come I found myself leaning on these games more and more as it became clear that my vision for the future did not align with his, it felt like every free second I was pouring myself into my fantasy life. By the time he ended things, I’d made way through the entire Ikemen Inc. catalogue of premium games and started to make my way into the exclusives with a higher price point, more beautifully illustrated scenes (CGs), and the Ikemen Inc. community leaderboard.
I play them a lot lately.
Maybe too much.
When I log in to my tumblr I see a message from my friend KittyGirl.
OMG Hana! Did you see they released Tyler Holland?
I saw and I played and I’m posting the full vid on twitch later ;)
I wonder who KittyGirl is as she types, and I wonder if she ever wonders who I am. I wonder if she would care if I was Hana the superstar or if she even follows tennis.
A lot of the girls on here don’t.
A lot of the girls on here are much younger than I am.
I wonder if it’s weird I don’t have many friends my age and that the people I feel closest to at the moment are all usernames in my feed.
STOP HANA YOURE THE BEST!
I smile because it gives me a sense of purpose and I haven’t felt that for some time.
It’s really good. He might be in my top 5 boyfriends.
NO. Really!?
Really.
Sometimes I wish that the men in my phone would come to life. That one day I would wake up and Sebastian would be there in human form, not his two-dimensional anime character form. I’ve thought about what he would look like if he were real.
Not just him.
Him and all the others I’ve dated over the years.
I wonder what it’d be like to date someone you know would never leave you.
Who could be that perfect boyfriend, or husband, or father.
It’s just as I’m thinking about this again that my phone chimes, letting me know I’ve received an email. I’m surprised to see it’s from Ikemen Inc. and that HanaLovesOtome has been invited along with the four other top Ikemen community users for an all-expenses paid, one month vacation to Ikemen’s Dream Resort.
My gut reaction is to scream, “Yes!” but then I remember I’m Hana the superstar.
What would people think if they found out?
What would the tabloids write if they saw me?
I pause.
Who is Hana if there is no tennis?
Hana is HanaLovesOtome.
And so I write an email back, deciding not to loop in my management team, and let the team at Ikemen Inc. know that I would be delighted to experience the resort. The response back is immediate and includes additional details and an NDA.
I skim the details of the agreement, relieved that I am not allowed to talk about the experience as that means no one else will and my identity as Hana the superstar will most likely be off limits to the press and send it back.
It all happens quickly and before the hour is up I’ve managed to secure my spot in the Ikemen Fan 5.
In the two weeks leading up to my departure, I no longer feel depressed or as if time stretches out in a way that makes me feel small and insignificant. I have an event to look forward to and arrangements to be made.
My therapist thinks a solo trip will be good for me and encourages me to journal and continue with the homework she’s given me outside of our sessions. My mom agrees that it will be good for me to have a real vacation which is something I haven’t had in years.
I’ve seen the world through touring but I’ve never really had time for tourism.
To that point, when I get on the plane it strikes me that this is my first time on a plane without the purpose of coming from or going to a tournament. I check two large suitcases and still bring a racquet in case I need the release of losing myself in a training session or two, despite the fact my performance no longer matters.
I wear the sunglasses I always wear to obscure my identity in first class and a wig and baseball hat and n95 mask, which always does the trip. At Narita airport, I see a man holding a sign that says “HanaLovesOtome” and I follow him to a town car that takes me two hours outside of Tokyo proper. It’s only when we pull off the main road, down a long skinny isolated one that I take off my disguise and breathe a sigh of relief that I managed not to attract the attention of any photographers or fans.
In my head I always saw Ikemen Inc. as a small developer, tucked away on a floor in a nondescript office building somewhere in Toyko.
The reality of their facilities surprised me, and we drove 15 minutes through dense woodland, past another small road with a sign indicating guest and employee parking - up to a manicured property where at the center was a sleek looking high rise. My driver stopped under the porte-cochere and helped me with my suitcases, triggering the mechanism for the large glass double doors to open which caught the attention of a man inside.
“Please, allow me to be of assistance,” he said, quickly grabbing the roller’s handles and helping me in to a spacious reception area. “I’m Roman and I run the resort division of Ikemen Inc.”
“Hana.”
There was something familiar about the way that Roman talked and the way he dressed that I couldn’t quite put my finger on as he introduced me to the woman at reception and made small talk about my trip. I engaged in the idle banter until the persistent feeling that I knew him from somewhere became so overwhelming that I finally found myself asking, “Have we met before?”
“Yes,” a female voice called out behind me.
I turned to see a girl, no older than 20 approaching us with a suitcase of her own. She wore the same expression that countless fans wore upon recognizing me as they rushed up to me and asked for a selfie except she was not looking at me, but at Roman.
“He’s Roman Hinton, from Ikemen’s Paradise Palace.”
“Ah, you’ve stayed with us in Paradise I assume?” Roman asked the girl smiling.
“Oh you have no idea,” she said dreamily, and it was then that I realized my wish of dating one of the men in my phone might come true.
That’s the end of my rough first chapter. Let me know if you want to know where we go from here and I might post more. Tagging @nitelotus since she asked to see it

Kai and Crystal get together by accident.
That is, neither of them intentionally seeked the other out. Sure, they both have things the other begrudgingly finds attractive (have you seen Kai’s arms? and she could probably bench press him if she wanted) but it’s nothing either speaks aloud or acts on. Intentionally.
When you’re surrounded by loud, crazy, insane energetic teammates, sometimes peace and quiet is a necessity rather than a need or a want. Kai doesn’t talk much and Crystal knows when to speak and when it’s best to stay quiet. So it only made sense for them to eventually occupy the same space as refuge from all that. (Not that she’s immune to Tyson’s adventure-laden charisma; he can sway her with the right words or bribes (i.e. the promise of something sweet), but even she needs time to regroup, rebalance, and decompress.)
With the peace and quiet came an ease they didn’t expect: how to move around one another, how to occupy the space without taking up space, how to communicate without speaking. Plenty of times Kai would be broken from a spell of reading, studying, or looking over forms to find her holding out a mug of tea (prepared the way he liked it) or a small plate of food (sometimes he forgot to eat). And he could tell from the particular way her eyebrows puckered if she stalled on a hard homework assignment or couldn’t understand a passage in a book.
Then they started their walks. Which, again, was unintentional but people needed a break from studying and to get some fresh air. Plus, Kai had to walk Hana anyway so it was killing two birds with one stone. There was no idle chatter, no small talk, and they liked it that way (Kai especially). And if they did speak, it was brief—”Hold on”, “Wait a second”, “Hurry up”, “Hana, stop licking that!”—until it divulged into safer topics such as beyblading, the BBA, work, school, or ragging on Tyson (they were friends, it was fine, he didn’t mind.)
Added onto the walks were Starbucks meetups (her after school and him on his lunch break from work), going to the markets in the morning (the Granger dojo constantly needed food with Tyson’s big appetite), yoga sessions (he balked at first only to give in when she mentioned, very bluntly might he add, that it would help work the stick out of his tightly clenched ass), card games, volunteering at the restructured BBA, volunteering at the local animal shelter (when she found out he visited she had to swear up and down, left and right, on her head, she wouldn’t tell a soul. And she wouldn’t, even if it was endearing and adorable and world-shaking to see Kai being gentle with the kittens and puppies) and of course the occasional beybattle (he always won).
It was when she’d made an offhand jokey comment once about her childhood, or lack thereof, that Kai asked her about it, crossed an invisible line, stepped into her world. He wondered how she managed to survive so long when she was banished from the White Tiger Village at such a young age, what got her to this point, with dreams of attending school and becoming a pediatrician. She hemmed and hawed at first but, when it dawned on her that someone else finally got it—having their childhood taken away, needing to fight to see the next day, needing to be one-step ahead of everyone else, having to grow up fast—she shared it all, unflinching, a little bitter, and very honest. He sat, he listened, and he apologized. Why, she wasn’t sure, but she accepted it. And when she asked him about his childhood, he only shared bits and pieces but she held onto them and held them to her chest; getting glimpses into Kai’s life was like getting a peek at the rarest, most precious gem in the world.
It wasn’t until Ray—so smug after weeks of observation—pointed out they were practically dating, did it occur to them that, somehow, they were. And it wasn’t terrible for two emotionally stunted and scarred people.
Maybe Kai didn’t share his emotions a lot, but she knew what he felt and what he needed from reading his body language and he was much more attentive than she would have pegged. And maybe Crystal wasn’t the most well-read person in the world and had an immaturity streak exacerbated by self-doubt, but, as he put it, he wouldn’t waste his time with or on someone who had potential and could do something with it. (His tactless pep-talks were a blessing and a curse.)
Maybe it took longer for them to breach basic physical forms of intimacy (Kai nearly had a heart attack straining through the sudden urge to hold her hand), and maybe outwardly they weren’t the most affectionate people (well, she was, but she wouldn’t dare try to touch him let alone hug him in public out of the blue despite being the more openly forward of the two), but behind closed doors and in their specially crafted world, she was his Kitten and he was her Sourpuss, and they worked and it was all they could ask for; for one good thing in their lives to work.

The furious scritch-scratching of a pencil can be heard even amongst all of the chatter in the dorm’s fifth floor study room. I glance over at Mark as he scribbles down incomprehensible equations in his lab notebook, furrowing his brow in frustration as he struggles to make sense of whatever solution he has just derived.
“You doing okay there?” I ask.
He huffs and pushes his notebook over to me. “Does this look right?”
I squint my eyes in confusion. “What did you do?”
Mark throws his hands up in defeat. “I don’t know! I was just trying to find the density.”
I scan the semblance of chemistry equations, acknowledging the attempt at the proper steps that ultimately fall short. “Well, first you need to find the number of molecules…”
He nods, slowly understanding the task at hand. “Ah, okay, okay! And then you divide that by the Avocado number to get the number of moles, right?”
The corner of my mouth raises to form a half-smile, amused at his use of the term he uses to memorize the name of Avogadro’s number. Mark was quirky like that. “Yes, then multiply that by the molecular weight to convert it to grams.”
“YO! Then I can plug that into the density equation!”
He pulls back his notebook and starts crossing out his previous work before quickly writing in the correct equations.
Mark and I met in our intro chemistry class. He was one of the five boys in our class and one of the only two cute ones. But what really sold it was that he was much nicer than the other guy; more open, less reserved, and he had an infectious smile. He was the definition of sincere happiness.
As is with every class, we started out by introducing ourselves:
“Hi, I’m Y/N and I’m a freshman. Um, I’m a biology major.”
“Hi, my name’s Mark. I’m a freshman and I’m an English major and I’m taking chemistry because I’m also sorta interested in biology.”
He was the only person in the class that I was moderately interested in speaking to; he seemed to get along with everyone. Admittedly, part of my motivation was because I thought he was cute.
I had only decided to speak to him after I caught him staring at me at the beginning of class once. We were listening to our TA give instructions for the day. Mark was standing next to her and I happened to glance at him, realizing that he was already looking at me – and that’s when he smiled that captivating smile of his. Later that day, I went up to him to confirm the melting temperature of the final product (even though I had already confirmed with several groups around me).
A few weeks later, we both happened to be at the fume hood, evaporating our solvents out of a flask in order to derive our final precipitate. As we were the only two in that part of room, an awkward silence happened to pass between us – one of ‘I know you, but have absolutely no idea what to say.’ Luckily for me, he was the first one to speak this time.
“How was your spring break?” he asked, keeping his focus on his flask.
“It was fine. I went home and studied for most of it since we have that midterm coming up in a week.”
“And where’s home for you?”
“Medford,” I said. “Oregon. It’s a small town, really pretty. How about you?”
“I’m from Vancouver.” He turned to smile at me. “Canada.”
Another pause passes between us.
“Hey, have you looked over the post-lab questions for this experiment?” he asked.
“Yeah.”
“Do you know how to do them?”
“Yeah, I think so. The equations we need are in the lecture notes.”
He hummed in response before turning to look at me. “Do you think I could get your number in case I need help? I get really confused in lecture sometimes.”
The excitement on my face was clearly evident as I said, “Sure!”
And that is how this all started. Every week since then, Mark and I would meet up to do the post-lab questions together.
That first homework session Mark and I had together was a turning point for me. Transitioning to college had been a challenge. Leaving home, living on my own, and adjusting to the rigor of the classes left me feeling defeated a lot of the time. Back in high school, I had to put in a lot of homework hours, but none of the material was necessarily difficult. It was just time consuming because we were given so much. But the content in college was tough. I had gotten a C on my first midterm and due to being a 4.0 student in high school, a C was unfathomable. It didn’t lend me anymore comfort knowing that more than fifty percent of my grade was based on exam performance and yet, I could spend hours and hours studying without a guarantee of a positive return. It was discouraging.
If I wasn’t in class, I was spending my time by myself in my dorm. I had two roommates, but I didn’t particularly care for either of them. One would wake up early to go to the gym and come back in the morning and slam everything she possibly could on her desk as if nobody else lived there. The other girl – well, her laptop’s wallpaper was a selfie… I think that tells you plenty.
Overall though, it was lonely. I didn’t care for the people I had befriended at the beginning of the year for various reasons so I called my dad every day and counted the days until I could go home.
I’ll never forget the way I felt when I returned home for winter break. Doyoung, Hana, and I had gone over to Taeyeon’s house one night after having dinner and milkshakes. We were there until three in the morning doing acroyoga and dancing in her living room. We were just being kids – carefree and happy. The overwhelming joy I felt that night was something I hadn’t felt in months and I remember having a moment of self-awareness as I watched Doyoung balance Hana on his knees.
I’m not happy.
Starting college in a different state was supposed to be a new beginning. One that’s supposed to be “the best four years of my life.” One where I’d meet a diverse group of people from all over the world. One where I’d get to experience my first college party, fall in love, discover my passion, learn new things... And while I was learning a lot in class, met many people, and did go to my first college party, I was slowly hoping that it would all end soon even though everything had just begun. I was alone and didn’t feel like I had anyone to talk to. That made me realize something else: Being alone never bothered me until it was no longer a choice.
Shortly after those moments of realization, the nightmares started. I had trouble sleeping and when I did finally manage to fall asleep, I’d abruptly wake up hours later, hyperventilating in a cold sweat.
What am I doing? How am I going to get through this?
Who was that confident person I was back in high school?
Where did she go?
Maybe she was just... acting.
Great, I’ve been acting my whole life.
“Y/N.” He sighs loudly and turns to look at me, pulling me from my reverie. “Why are you so amazing?”
I smile back at him. It’s comments like these that make my heart stall and my chest feel warm. Though, I wish I believed him. I know he’s just talking about me helping him with chemistry, but sometimes I hope that it’s a little more than that. We’re in the same year and we get along really well. Plus, he’s really cute. Perhaps we could start dating.
Mark has made me feel comfortable here. I look forward to seeing him every week. His carefree and go with the flow nature is addicting. If he’s ever stressed, he’s very good at hiding it. It’s the complete opposite of my personality. Mark is someone I want to be around all the time.
I love his little quirks. Like when he gets frustrated and furrows his brow. He shakes his head in frustration and clicks his tongue. Or when he laughs – it’s a loud, boisterous laugh followed by a punch in the shoulder to whoever is closest to him. He has this youthfulness to him that will never die. He searches for the happiness in everything and encourages everyone around him. He’s the friend everyone wishes they had.
“You know,” he begins, “I can’t believe that we lived in the same unit this whole time.”
Mark lived in the neighboring dorm building, leaving little opportunity to meet unless we happened to dine near each other in the cafeteria or attended the dorm-wide events in the multi-purpose room.
It would’ve been nice to have a friend earlier on.
“Oh, I saw you a few weeks into the semester,” I say.
He looks at me, clearly surprised. “Yo, what? You did?!” he exclaims. “Why didn’t you say ‘hi’?!”
Mark is in disbelief when I shrug. We hadn’t spoken yet when I saw him that time. I was surprised and quite excited that the cute guy from chem class lived in the same unit as I did. But I was way too shy to say anything. I didn’t want him knowing that I remembered his name and had been paying attention to him ever since the first day of class. He probably didn’t remember my name anyway. But knowing we did live near each other did give me some encouragement to make an attempt to talk to him.
“I – I don’t know. I didn’t really know who you were,” I say. “I mean, I knew you were in my chem class, but –”
“Where did you see me?”
“You were getting the mail.”
“You should’ve said ‘hi’! I would’ve recognized you!”
I open my mouth to say something, but end up making weird gestures with my hands as I don’t know how to respond honestly to Mark’s comment.
He sighs and looks at me with a playfully stern expression. “Well next time, you gotta say ‘hi’! I like saying ‘hi’ to my friends!”
I nod. “Okay, yes, sir,” I quip. “I’ll remember that next time.”
He grins widely and puts his pencil down. “Hey, are you busy tomorrow?”
“I have class at eleven, but that’s it,” I say. “Why?”
“Do you wanna go play badminton with me?!”
I squint my eyes in confusion. This is not the request I was expecting. “Uh…”
“The weather’s supposed to be really nice and I just got the new net I ordered online! I wanna try it out!”
“Uh, okay,” I say slowly. “Sure. I didn’t realize you liked to play badminton.”
“Oh yeah! It’s my favorite! I used to play with my brother all the time back in Vancouver. Have you played?”
“I used to play in high school. Actually, my team in P.E. won our badminton tournament!”
“Oh! You must be pretty good then!”
“Probably not. It’s been a while.”
“Well, it’s gonna be fun! I’ll meet you on the lawn in front of the library? Like, three?”
“Sure!”
Tumblr media
The next day is bright and sunny and after attending psychology discussion, I returned home for a quick sandwich followed by an hour of reading before changing clothes. I opted for a coral cold-shoulder top, blue denim shorts, knock-off boat shoes, and pulled my wavy, brown locks into a ponytail. At two-thirty, I set out for campus.
When I arrive on the lawn, Mark has already set up the net. He picks up a racket, spins it around in his hand, and then tosses a birdie with his free hand up into the air. A loud whack is heard moments before the projectile lands right in front of my feet. I look up and am met with Mark’s bright smile and an excited wave.
“Hey!” Mark runs over to me, enveloping me in a hug. “Isn’t it beautiful today?!” He pulls back to look at me. “You look very summery today!”
“Oh, yeah, I figured since it’s nice out today and there’s no wind…” I shrug.
“Yeah! It’s perfect for us to play!” He picks up the birdie from the ground. “Come on!”
I follow him over to where he had set up the net, picking up the other racket near one of the poles. He’s smiling at me when I look at him again. “Don’t make fun of me if I lose!”
He laughs. “Don’t worry! I won’t! You’ll just have to help me out with chemistry.”
“I already do that!”
It’s momentary and I nearly miss it, but there’s a very brief hesitation before his lips curve up into a bashful smile. His eyes are soft and I detect the slightest bit of admiration in them. There’s a crooked smile on my face when I narrow my eyes at him in curiosity. He remains silent.
After a few moments, I turn my gaze away from him, trying to bite back an embarrassed smile as I superficially glance over at some students playing ultimate Frisbee.
“Are you ready to play?!” Mark asks suddenly.
“Yeah!”
I walk to the opposing side of the net and ready myself for Mark’s serve.
“Zero, zero!”
Swiftly, I swing the racket with a bit of force, easily returning Mark’s serve. He misses.
“Lucky shot,” he remarks, shaking his head.
I pick up another one of the birdies. “One, zero!”
We’re able to rally for a bit when I decide to carry out my signature move from high school. I barely tap the birdie, giving it just enough force to barely make it over the net.
“Oh – what the?!” Mark shouts as he attempts to dive just as the birdie hits the ground.
“Two, zero,” I say with a wide grin.
I’m looking at him as he’s sitting on the ground on my side of the net, one arm propped up on his knee. He chuckles and looks up at me, squinting into the sunlight.
“And you thought you were going to be bad at this!”
I shrug innocently. “I don’t know… or are you just letting me win? Hm?”
“No! Of course not!”
“Oh, so you’re just not very good at this,” I tease. “That’s okay. I understand.” I break out into laughter when he looks at me with a playful frown.
“Hey!” He’s laughing now. “You know that I’m facing the sun, right?! I’m at a disadvantage.”
I wave my hand in dismissal. “Excuses.”
I extend my hand out to help him stand up. Unfortunately, the weight distribution between us is very imbalanced and results in Mark pulling me down; I fall on top of him with a loud squeal.
“I’m so sorry!” I say in between laughs, trying push myself up off of him with my hands on either side of his body.
He places a hand on the small of my back. “Are you okay?”
I lift my head to look at him, feeling my heart jump briefly as I realize how close we are together. My laughter ceases.
“Uh, yeah,” I say, quickly pushing myself off of him and standing up on my own, brushing myself off.
I watch him as he ducks under the net and repositions himself, smiling widely at me again.
There’s a warmth and giddiness that fills my chest and I recognize it immediately. It’s the same happiness I felt with Doyoung, Hana, and Taeyeon. I smile to myself.
I think things are going to be okay.
I’m suddenly caught off guard when I hear Mark’s racket strike the birdie. My eyes widen as it flies over to my right.
“Oh!” I yelp as I lunge to the side a moment too late.
“Sorry, I was thinking about something,” I say as I turn around to pick up the birdie.
“Oh… about what?”
I smile back at him. “Nothing really. Just that I’m having a lot of fun.”
He cracks a grin as I’m about to serve. “One, two,” he quips.
I frown. “Does that even count?”
“One, two,” he says again with a mischievous smile.

That night, while catching up on some psychology reading, my phone vibrates, Mark’s name flashing on the message notification.
Mark [8:07 PM] Yo! Hey! Today was really fun! Thanks for coming!
Me [8:10 PM] Thank you for inviting me! I haven’t had that much fun in a while
Mark [8:15] Oh and thanks so much for helping me out all the time in chem! You’re a life saver! 😊
Mark [8:17 PM] If you’re up to it, I’d love to take you out for lunch as a thank you! 😊
Mark has been responsible for many of my smiles over the past few weeks. And here he is, doing it again. I chuckle to myself as I feel the giddiness of having a crush return.
Me [8:20 PM] Yeah! That would be great! Thank you!
I don’t think this is a date, but at the very least, I know that Mark likes spending time with me. He’s also definitely a lot nicer than Lucas. So who knows? We have the next three years to find out.

4 - Shinsou
Kaori Shinsou has always been fascinated by people's minds. She is one of the best students in her Criminal Psychology course at U.A. and - being the lucky girl she is - her professor is not only one handsome dude, but is also working on the case of the serial killer Stain - a case that has been going on for years. As she is about to become Professor Aizawa's TA during the next term, a lot of other interesting cases start popping up all over the country...
AU, OC x Aizawa
Trigger warnings: gossip
(possibly incomplete, if you’d like something added, please let me know)
When the winter's in full swing and your dreams just aren't coming true
(Arctic Monkeys - Knee Socks)
There was some mystery around the food in the U.A. canteen. It wasn't your typical What the hell are they trying to sell us as food? type of thing. The mystery was how food this cheap was so incredibly good. Kaori Shinsou had always despised canteen food and had refused to eat at the canteen at U.A. for the longest time. She never went back to prepared lunches after she had eaten there for the first time. It was good and what was even better - it was cheap.
"So, what did he want from you?" Kaori heard her friend Uehara say. She looked up from her plate and into her round face that was framed by light brown hair. Uehara always did her best to look cute - long fringe, pastel colours, bows and hair clips - but once you had seen her upset about something the whole masquerade just wasn't the same anymore. Hana Uehara was a beast.
"Who?" Kaori asked, not quite sure what she meant. Uehara rolled her eyes and gave her a big grin.
"Professor Aizawa, of course!" Uehara replied. Ah. Right. Kaori just shrugged and tried to play it off. She knew that Uehara thought Aizawa was basically a male model and the pinnacle of sex appeal. She didn't want to encourage that by agreeing with her, even though she regularly caught herself thinking about how handsome he was during his lectures. After all, it was a fact that he was attractive.
"Not much. Just something about my assignments and how I keep procrastinating on them. And on my TA application. That's all." Kaori said and shrugged again. Uehara raised an eyebrow.
"Your TA application? What's he got to do with that? Aizawa has never ever had a TA and he never wanted one..." Kawano questioned. Uehara's mouth fell open and her eyes widened. Kaori braced herself for the flood of questions that was about to be unleashed on her. She looked over at Takami who just had a relaxed smile on his lips. How he managed to be in the law enforcement course and be high half the time was also one of the many mysteries in Kaori Shinsou's life.
"Oh. My. God. Kao-chan! He did not, did he?" Uehara asked, ready to burst with excitement. Kaori sighed. It was probably better to get it over with now than any other time. She loved Uehara to death, but she could be a lot to handle.
"He might have." Kaori mumbled. Uehara let out a loud squeal. Some people from the surrounding tables turned their heads and Kaori sank further into her chair. Hopefully she wouldn't be shouting any more now.
"God, Uehara, would you calm down? You're killing my vibes." Takami complained, giving her an annoyed look. She glanced over at him, looking a little guilty.
"Right. Sorry."
She leaned over the table and stared at Kaori intently, probably trying to read her expression. Uehara would never give up until she knew everything and Kaori was well aware of that. She sighed.
"So... he made you his TA? You're the very first TA he's ever had? Spill!" she whispered in a high-pitched voice.
"He saw my application and said he'd like to take me on for next year. That's all. Nothing more and nothing less." Kaori said. She really didn't want to get into this topic. She had her reasons.
"Yeah, sure. Tell us all the juicy details of your secret affair, once you get to that point." Uehara answered with a grin on her face. Kaori rolled her eyes. Of course. A secret affair where her hot, young prof fucked her on his desk in an empty classroom. As if that actually happened in real life.
"Pretty sure that would be illegal, Uehara." Kawano protested. Kaori shook her head. Of course it wouldn't be illegal.
"It's not. I'm way over 18 and so is he. Legally there is nothing anyone can do. Which doesn't make it morally right." she corrected him. Maybe she had been spending some time daydreaming about her professor and that's how she got to that conclusion so quickly. Who knew, right?
"Pretty sure there is some sort of policy against it, or something. There has to be. I mean, the whole thing would encourage favouritism and all." Kawano replied. Uehara huffed, as if she was laughing mockingly.
"Come on, as if Kao-chan isn't already his favourite student!"
"Yeah, you're kind of a teacher's pet, Shinsou." Takami agreed.
"Doesn't mean I'm fucking the prof." Kaori mumbled. She really didn't like the direction this whole conversation was going. Because they were right - she was a teacher's pet and she was utterly enjoying it.
"No one said you're fucking the prof. Why are you getting so defensive?" Takami asked with a shit-eating grin. Kaori shot him a deadly glance. One day. One day she was going to rip out his intestines. But not today.
She had spotted a familiar face in the canteen, looking a little lost and trying to find a place to sit. It wasn't really that face that she had first noticed, it was the purple mess of hair that stood out to her. Hitoshi Shinsou was standing around in the middle of the canteen, basically in everyone's way, and was just inviting trouble.
"Guys, shut up for a second and behave, I see my little brother and I'm going to get him out of harm's way and ask him to eat his lunch over here, alright?" Kaori interrupted the lively discussion about her and her (non-existent) sex life. She got up from her chair, waving at Hitoshi to get his attention.
"YO TOSHI, COME OVER HERE AND SIT WITH THE COOL KIDS!" she shouted when he didn't notice her at first. He turned around and saw Kaori with a big grin on her face. He lost his indifferent facade for a split second and looked pretty relieved about having a place to go, before he went back to his usual neutral expression.
Kaori sat back down when she saw Hitoshi walking towards their table. Uehara turned around and gave him a smile, Takami and Kawano couldn't really be bothered it seemed. They were curious, though, Kaori could tell.
"Uhm... hi, everyone." Hitoshi said when he got to the table. He scratched the back of his head, he always did that when he was really nervous.
"Everyone, this is Hitoshi, my little brother who only started uni this year. Be nice to him, he's my favourite brother." Kaori introduced him.
"I'm your only brother." Hitoshi replied, as he sat down and looked intently at his food. Kaori smiled. He always pretended like he didn't care about anyone at all, but he was really just a shy kid.
"You finally made it to U.A., Hitoshi!" Uehara said happily. She knew him because she'd sometimes come over to the Shinsous' house for study sessions with Kaori. She loved Hitoshi to bits.
"Yeah, you guys are definitely related. He looks just as tired as you, Kaori." Takami remarked, his detached grin still on his face.
"What can I say, guys, it runs in the family." Kaori answered and shrugged. Meanwhile, Kawano was eyeing up Hitoshi's purple hair. Kaori had to admit that it stood out like a sore thumb. It suited Hitoshi in a weird way, but it was just... LOUD. The thing was that everyone in the Shinsou family had this purple tint in their otherwise dark hair. Hitoshi figured, he wanted to try and see how he looked with actual purple hair. So one rainy afternoon during summer break Kaori had helped him dye his hair and he had been keeping it up ever since. It was his thing now.
"Is that your natural hair colour?" Kawano finally asked. Hitoshi looked up, as if he wasn't sure whether he was being asked that question.
"Uh, not... really. I have a natural purplish tint in my hair like Kaori, but I felt like going full purple one time and that's just been my hair ever since." he explained, his eyes looking a little self-conscious.
"So, are you starting out with Criminology, too?" Takami wanted to know, brushing some of his blond hair out of his face. The self-conscious look in Hitoshi's eyes grew with that question. Kaori thought of intervening, but maybe it would be better to let him talk about himself. She was trying not to be patronising, after all.
"No, uhm... I planned to, but I just failed by one point in the entrance exam. I'm in Psychology now. I'm going to try and transfer to Criminology next year, though." he replied, rubbing his neck again.
"Definitely, do that. You've got the midterms and finals and if you do incredibly well in those, they might let you transfer. They've done that in the past sometimes." Kawano agreed and gave him an encouraging smile.
"He will do well. He's been studying any free minute he has and he probably read my first year textbooks a million times at this stage." Kaori said. Maybe she could even try to get Aizawa on her brother's case. She knew that he liked students who put in a lot of work and effort and if she was going to be his TA next year, she would probably have some extra leverage with that.
"Anyone got some free time after this lesson?" Uehara asked, changing the topic. She knew exactly how self-conscious Hitoshi was about not being able to get into Criminology. Kaori appreciated her trying to make things easier for him by not talking about it at lengths in front of everyone.
"Nah, I've got First Responder training after lunch, sorry." Takami replied. First Responder training was for the people who were about to go into actual police service and would probably be called onto an active crime scene. Takami was training to become exactly that and also did regular weapon training, so he had a shot at getting into the "exciting cases" as he called them.
"What about you, Kawano?" Uehara wanted to know. He shook his head.
"I wish I did have time, but I have to do this seminar with Professor Kayama on forensic anthropology. I need the credits to be able to qualify as a crime scene tech. It's fucking disgusting, though." he answered and grimaced. Kaori often wondered why he wanted to become a qualified crime scene tech when corpses bothered him that much. It wasn't like he would be able to avoid them much.
"Kao-chan? Please?" Uehara asked. Kaori did have free time, but she was hoping to be able to spend that on her own and in some peace and quiet.
"What do you wanna do?" she wanted to know.
"Okay, this sounds creepy, but you know how Toshinori Yagi has started teaching here this year?" Uehara replied, sounding giddy.
"Everyone knows that. They might a big fucking deal out of it. He is extremely famous for his work on the Shigaraki case. Don't tell me you're a fangirl, too." Takami interrupted. Kawano shook his head.
"Don't judge her, I'm definitely a fanboy." he said.
"Well, I heard he's doing a PE lesson with the first years in basic training and I thought we could catch a glimpse, maybe...?" Uehara suggested. Kaori sighed. She really didn't want to do this, because she saw no point in this weird obsession with Yagi that everyone seemed to have, but... Uehara was her friend.
"Fine. I'll come with you."
