things i'd like from bg4 or any similar future games
I think BG3 is very detailed; but I would really like it if the backgrounds had mattered more. Or at least for every one. I heard if you're a drow/half-drow noble you get special dialogue with Minthara. But why didn't my Folk Hero!Tav with Wyll [or just in general?] Or my Outlander!Tav with Karlach? I love that your character gets special interaction with all and sundry, at times, re: class and race. But backgrounds make a charcacter. I don't need details. Just a bit of a nod. At least within the camp.
This brings me to point two. I wish there was a way to get friendship points. It is so strange the characters can be 'meh' about you, dislike you [and strongly], but high to exceptional bonds trigger romance. What about close friendships or growing into a family?
Speaking of, I definitely would have love some down time chatter. It is so strange to me that you get a 'this could be our last time in camp' but don't do anything with it. I appreciate the tiefling [or goblin] party. I love the idle banter on the road. But why not a couple of casual fireside chats. As a group?
I love Halsin but the fact that he is the only one we can have a polyamorous dynamic with, is bull. I'm fine with not every character being into polyam -- but maybe research more before diving into it. I am 90% sure Wyll would've been okay with Polyam - a triad too! - if it was Halsin or Astarion [maybe with Lae'zel but I have to play further to be sure]. I could see Astarion and Shadowheart swinging a 'v' dynamic, and being the best [or worst for Tav's sanity] of metamours! Maybe it would have been a hassle for coding to fit every configuration, but we deserved at least a COUPLE of Tav x Origin x Origin loving.
Also, I think we should have been able to encourage - or maybe it could have happened sans MC involvement - the npcs getting together.

Currently rereading this french scifi book that's all about a bunch of medievalish people building this absurdly high cathedral (and by 'high' i mean that none of the living human in this book ever got out of what they call the cathedral and touched the actual ground)in an attempt to reach God but then the big plot twist is that the ruling class are actually a bunch of almost immortal alien beings who accidentally crashed on Earth during the actual Middle Ages, need to be at a certain height to launch their rocket and go back to their planet and therefore used the people's faith and whatever ingineering they had at this point to reach their goals, not caring that it would take centuries and centuries because it's litterally just a few hours for them and honestly this could be such a cool movie, somebody please adapt this thing right now

several thoughts about the new years 2023 sketch that i CANNOT stop having:
he's getting hornier. he's been getting hornier on main the closer we get to the end of the series. everyone scroll his twitter back to 2021 and you will see there is an abrupt spike in horny art around august of that year. horny on main about literally all his own ocs and unapologetic about it
horikoshi has DEFINITELY been looking at all the bunnyboi deku fanart over the last 8 years
the previous two points lead me to conclude that the fandom has been picking up what he's putting down this whole time. shameless deku supremacy bunnyboi deku supremacy etc etc
also thinking maybe deku's steel toed thigh highs were an aesthetic choice and not entirely necessary for support reasons. thotty deku supremacy etc
hori really fleshes out his characters with these sketches it seems very clear to me that ochaco was bribed with free food for this event & kirishima didn't have to be bribed with ANYTHING he's just happy to be here, very on brand
thanks bud i WASNT thinking about their balls but NOW i am
that being said: release the balls cut horikoshi. i KNOW you have a secret balls-in drawing. im a 'do-it-for-the-bit' artist, i know theres a secret bit art folder i just KNOW it
and you KNOW he also did a bunnyboi katsuki sketch. hes a freaque he simply would not let that go undrawn
do you guys think katsuki feels left out. do you think he's mad he missed the memo. where are his eyes pointed, mirko? or ochaco? is he jealous. does he have fomo
katsuki adhd king
it is SO funny of hori to make mirko have to wear clothes while the rest of them wear her costume. so cruel. so inhumane. get dressed idiot
shouto said 👁️👄👁️ as usual absolute comedy king

Displeasures of the Flesh
Transformers Fanfiction. Kaon/Reader, Kaon/Original Character. It’s functionally an x reader (no name or appearance) but the MC does have a personality and family.
When you almost hit a man with you car, you always expect to get threatened. At least a little bit. What you don’t expect is for said man to believe himself to be a Cybertronian trapped in a human body, and now it’s your job to help him find it.
You don’t quite buy it, but you know enough about people to know there are some parts of his story that are true. Particularly, the parts revolving around extreme serial torture.
In short: there is a serial killer living in your home, but you’re too lonely to care.
Or; Kaon of the Decepticon Justice Division wakes up in a human body and now you have to make sure he doesn’t kill anybody. Not you, though. You’re not sure that’s the part that matters.

I can't believe I'm writing a whole essay about CHOICES on a Monday morning, but I've realized that one big reason why I usually don’t like single LI books is that they always have frustratingly small and shallow supporting casts. Crimes of Passion, With Every Heartbeat, Getaway Girls, and The Princess Swap all have larger casts that I enjoyed and found myself invested/interested in, but those are only 4 out of 18 single LI stories. Every other single LI story either has a medium-sized cast that no one really cares about because the non-LI characters are pretty shallow (see: AVSP, Surrender, TNA, etc.) or extremely small casts with similarly one-dimensional background characters (see: Shipwrecked, TCH, WABR, KOD, TDA, etc.).
Yes, there are some exceptions, and of course, your mileage may vary re: liking specific characters. I know I personally liked Sir Montgomery and Longclaw from TCH, and Faith and Roy from KOD. I also liked the twins, Robin, and Sofia from TNA, although the latter two were often screwed over by the writers. But did anyone care about Jenny, Aditya, Will, Marisol, etc.? Does anyone actually like how Inez, Dutch, and the other stock characters from RWB are written? What about Austin and Mandy from Untameable? Reese, Sloane, and Mallorie from Surrender? Did anyone find the O'Connells to be compelling villains? What about Dr. Hale and Tak from Shipwrecked? I’m sure there are players out there who liked these characters or found them interesting (presumably the same people who fund unneeded sequels for many of these stories), but for me, they’re all so one-dimensional that I just can't be interested in them. And if I'm not interested in the characters, then I'm not going to be interested in the story.
On the flip side, multi-LI books tend to have larger casts, which makes sense, as these stories by nature cannot force the storyline to revolve around one singular character (except for when they clearly prioritize one LI over the others, but that's a rant for another time). When this is the case, I almost always find myself getting attached to a specific love interest or side character. Take It Lives, OH, ES, Blades, TCATF, TF, TE, and everything else in between: in these books, the MC has friend groups that don’t specifically revolve around their LI (although these friend groups almost always *include* their LIs!) and these side characters tend to have conflicts and storylines of their own. That’s very rarely the case with single LI books, which, imo, is just poor writing — if a large part of your cast exists just to revolve around one character, or to poorly fill friendship roles, rather than existing as characters on their own, that’s not good.
