Mick's interview with Motorsport Italy
Schumacher: "Privilege to be part of Mercedes, I feel at home
Article Link
After ending his relationship with Haas and the Ferrari Driver Academy, Mick Schumacher has chosen a different path, settling at Mercedes as a backup and simulator driver. According to the German, this will be an opportunity to learn from a winning team, but with the goal of returning to Formula 1 soon. After two years in the top series, the grid for the 2023 season will not see the name of Mick Schumacher, who was left without a seat after Haas' decision not to renew his contract in favor of the arrival of Nico H. It was clearly a difficult decision to accept, especially since the young German felt he had made revealing progress in his second season, despite a few crashes early in the championship when the car seemed to be more competitive. After also severing ties with the FDA, the Ferrari academy to which he was linked from 2019, Schumacher chose to take a completely different path, settling at Mercedes as a third driver.
For Schumacher, this will be an opportunity to confront a different environment and a top team that has been at the top of Formula 1 for years, while also learning from a champion like Lewis Hamilton. What's more, the German will also get to try out the Silver Star manufacturer's simulator, something that was missing at Haas, which sporadically relied on the Prancing Horse's facilities in Maranello.
Clearly, the intention is to return as quickly as possible to Formula 1, as happened with Nyck De Vries, which is why he is not currently considering taking part in any other series. Nevertheless, Schumacher will still keep himself in training, taking part in a few kart races throughout the year.
How does he reconcile the role of simulator driver with the track? - "Well, I think in the first place, because I have already driven last year's car, which is a new generation, that means that the approach I will have in the simulator will be very similar to what the drivers will have on the track. So, in order to have a direct comparison, I will be able to first of all talk about how the tires work, how the car behaves and how it should behave. And then, as a result, we will be able to modify and adapt the simulator quite quickly. And hopefully, with that in mind, we will be able to provide the team with reliable feedback, as well as a number of options that will hopefully work well on the track as well."
Tumblr media
How does one prepare mentally for not racing this year? - "I will probably continue to have a very similar approach, let's say. I'll approach the weekend thinking like I'm going to race, to keep myself trained, but also to be ready, probably because it's a very different year. I will also try to understand what I can learn from this experience. And also to be as helpful as possible to the team, partly because I already have experience in terms of driving, but also because of the mindset with which I know how to approach a weekend. So yes, I will maintain the same approach."
How important is this season for your career? - "It is definitely a privilege to be part of Mercedes. But more importantly, it's also a place where I've always felt at home. So maybe it's not the step I wanted to take in general terms, but I think in many ways it's another way to improve my driving and prove myself as a driver. I hope I can help the team, but I'm sure with everything the team has done in the past, but also with all the experience they have, I'll be able to use it for myself to grow as a driver."
Did you drive a Formula 3 car during the winter break? - "Yes, correct. I drove the old F3 car, but I plan to drive a lot, or as much as possible, this year, in different categories and with different cars. And yes, I think probably for this season I've decided that I want to be as fit as possible, which I feel I've achieved so far and I plan to improve again until the start of the season. So yes, as far as action on the track, I'm still very active and I plan to stay that way."
Alex Albon talked about the benefits of not racing on the track. Where do you think you can improve? - "I will definitely take a similar approach as Alex [Albon]. But beyond that, it's also an opportunity for me to have, instead of one teammate, two teammates to watch, so I can see what they are doing. Maybe I don't have a direct comparison because not just behind the wheel, but I know how I would approach it, and this way now I can see in the live telemetry what they are doing and how they approach it. Same thing if it's an oversteering car, what they're doing with the various adjustments, what they're doing in terms of driving styles. Basically I can learn from that and hopefully add something to my baggage and be ready when I come back."
Do you have to have special skills? - "It always depends on the car, right? Whatever the car needs, that's what the driver needs to improve and adapt. So basically, I feel that, especially at the end of the year, I had all the skills I needed to drive the car to its limit. I still don't know how it is this year, because obviously we haven't driven it yet, but at some point… I'm sure there will be new skills needed, but that remains to be seen."
How might this role get you back a seat in F1? - "Obviously there is no guarantee, but I am in a comfortable position where I feel I can learn, I can make the most of this year, even if I don't drive. I'm sure that with the results I've achieved in the junior categories but also in F1, there will be opportunities. During the winter some people have already explained that there is interest."
Can Toto Wolff help you in managing your career? - "Toto definitely has a lot of experience, not only with young people, but also in general. So, of course, it's nice to have the opportunity to work with him now. Of course, I can only benefit from his experience and I hope to take the right steps with his help.
Tumblr media
Are you trying to find a seat elsewhere besides his role as a test driver? "Not at the moment. It is not in my plans at the moment. Of course, the idea at the moment is to participate in all Formula 1 races, which, of course, involves a busy year. On the other hand, I plan to do some kart racing here and there, which is probably closer to Formula 1 than anything else."

Be In My Eyes - Chapter 20
You can read the previous chapters here or on AO3. Summary: After being "forbidden" from going to the bar by the girls, the boys decide to have their own celebration at home, but as the night goes on, conversations change to more serious topics.
Vax’ildan had never been a heavy sleeper, especially during the years since he and his sister Vex’ahlia ran away from their father’s house, so it was surprising that the loud music and cheering in the living room hadn’t woken him up earlier. He had no idea when the other guys had started partying, but the bright light of his lock screen showed him it was past 11 pm, which meant he had been asleep for hours. It was to be expected since he had been exhausted from a chaotic week of midterms, but Vax never thought he would sleep through Scanlan’s lousy rendition of dumb pop songs or what Grog deemed were heavy metal roars. He considered staying in bed for a while longer, ignoring the others. If they weren’t aware that Vax was awake, they wouldn’t try to convince him to join them, but as soon as Vax heard Grog sing the first lines of Bad Blood, he knew his sanity had to be preserved, and if Percy wasn’t going to put a stop to it, then he had to do something.
Vax had seen a lot of weird things in his life (he had seen a lot of disturbing things, too), but nothing prepared him for the image of Grog standing in the middle of the kitchen holding a spatula as a microphone while singing Taylor Swift in just his underwear—a pair of soft blue boxer briefs with yellow rubber ducks. The music came from the speakers plugged into his laptop on the dining table, where Vax could see a playlist running. Craning his neck into the living room, he saw Scanlan and Percy playing Mario Kart on the TV, each missing a few articles of clothing.
“What the fuck is going on?” Vax mumbled to himself.
Just as confusion settled in further, Scanlan screamed victoriously, standing on the couch and screaming at Percy to ditch another layer. Percy, who Vax knew from experience was a bad video game player, rubbed his face in desperation and tried to argue with the short man that he didn’t have much more to remove. In fact, as he got up, Vax noticed Percy was only wearing one sock and his underwear. How Scanlan had let him go by removing just one sock as a layer of clothing was a mystery Vax never wanted to solve.
“Vax!” Grog’s scream brought everyone’s attention to him.
Fuck. Vax stumbled away from the shadowed corner, obviously not hiding as well as he thought and tried to smile at his roommates.
“Hey, guys. What’s going on?”
“The girls won’t allow us to go to the bar, so we’re partying at home,” Grog explained.
“Can you believe the audacity?” Scanlan protested.
Vax shook his head, feigning offense with the others. His eyes landed on Percy, sitting behind Scanlan, who looked like he cared just as much as Vax did.
“Sorry if the music was loud,” He apologized.
“That’s alright.”
“Wanna join us, Vax?” Grog asked, handing him a beer from the fridge. Vax shrugged and took it, crossing the kitchen into the living room.
“I was kicking Percy’s ass at Mario Kart.”
“Excuse me,” Percy interjected. Vax could tell he was tipsy but not incoherent yet. “We kicked each other’s ass.”
“I kicked yours more,” Scanlan pointed at the pale man’s almost naked figure. In comparison with Percy, Scanlan was almost fully dressed. For some reason, he had opted to take out his socks and pants, leaving his shirt on instead.
“D’ya wanna play, Vax?” Grog asked, sitting on the floor and grabbing the blue controller.
“Sure. Ready to lose?”
“Oh please,” Grog snorted, handing Vax the red controller.
It’s not that Vax was bad at video games—scratch that. Vax was terrible at video games. Even worse than Percy, who was now fully clothed. In his defense, though, Vax didn’t have many opportunities to play during his childhood and, especially, none during his teenage years.
“Shit,” Vax cursed, looking down at his body. He was only in his underwear after getting his ass repeatedly kicked by Scanlan, Grog, and even Percy twice.
“We should probably end it here,” Scanlan saved him.
“Scared of what you might see, Scanman?” Vax teased the shorter man, wiggling his eyebrows. Scanlan shrugged in response.
“Nah. It’s midnight and I’m tired of this. It’s not as fun without ladies, if you know what I mean.” He looked at Vax up and down before he continued, “Not that you’re not a handsome fella. But we have nothing more to drink and I’m still thirsty.”
“But the girls–”
“Since when are they our bosses, Grog? The bar is a public place. They cannot decide who goes there.”
“But Pikey–”
“Please don’t tell me you’re afraid of Pike, big guy.” Vax teased. He had no intentions of leaving the house, but he still had fun poking the bear.
“She’s scary sometimes,” Grog replied.
“You can stay home if you want, you coward,” Scanlan teased, grabbing his jacket and heading for the door. The last word seemed to affect Grog, who promptly puffed his chest at the short man. The height difference between them was comical.
“I’m no coward.”
“Then let’s go. You two staying?” Scanlan turned to Vax and Percy, who nodded at him. “As you wish.”
Just as the door closed behind Scanlan, Vax and Percy heard the poor imitation of a chicken clucking, leaving them to chuckle and finish their beers in silence.
“Percival,” Vax called to his roommate, returning to the living room from the kitchen with a half-eaten sandwich. It wasn’t until his stomach grumbled louder than a freight train that he realized he hadn’t eaten anything since lunch.
“Vax’ildan,” Percy copied his serious tone.
“How’s Keyleth doing?”
Percy scoffed in a combination of disbelief with amusement.
“Really? I didn’t think you cared about her well-being anymore.”
“Of course I do. Things are just… complicated right now.”
“And who made it so?” Percy leaned into his seat, staring Vax straight in the eyes. Ice blue peered through the glass of his round golden spectacles, freezing Vax from the inside out.
“Please, Percival.” Vax didn’t bother trying to hide the desperation in his tone.
“Alright,” Percy leaned back, crossing his legs and his hands on his lap. His gaze was fixed on Vax’s, still cold and angry like he was holding a sharp knife ready to stab him in the heart.
“Keyleth is confused. She is hurt. Deeply hurt. She was already confused about her feelings, and suddenly, you started ignoring her.”
“What do you mean?”
Percy hesitated for a moment. He didn’t want to break his best friend’s trust, but this situation had become beyond absurd. Vax and Keyleth’s lack of communication brought them where they stood, and if they were both too stubborn and scared to talk about their feelings for each other, things would only worsen.
“Last weekend, she told me she was confused about her feelings for you. She was scared that you only saw her as a friend, and it would ruin your friendship. And I, the fool I am, told her she had nothing to worry about. That you were head over heels for her,” Percy paused to laugh. “Clearly, I was wrong.”
“You weren’t,” Percy saw more than heard the shame in Vax’s eyes as he spoke. “I’m in love with her. Keyleth doesn’t deserve someone like me, Percy. She deserves someone better. Someone who will treat her well. I’m not that person. I’m… I’m useless. All I do in life is bring pain and darkness to those who love me, and I don’t want to drag her down with me.”
“Is that why you pulled away from her?” Percy’s voice softened. He related so much to Vax’s feelings. If only his roommate knew that’s how Percy felt about Vex’ahlia…
“It was a mistake.”
“Yes.”
“She’s even more hurt. Did you see how much weight she lost? Fuck. If anything happened to her, I would have never forgiven myself.” Vax rubbed his eyes with the heels of his hands.
“There’s no use crying over spilled milk, Vax’ildan. Just do better. You can still fix this.”
“You think so?” A flame of hope ignited in Vax’s eyes.
“If you ask me, I think Keyleth has had feelings for you for a while. I don’t think she was aware of them until recently, and with everything that happened, I think she’s even more scared that you won’t love her back, and that’s why she’s not accepting it. She’s in denial.”
“What do you think I should do?”
“Talk to her. Tell her how you feel. Show her how sorry you are for hurting her.” Percy paused to observe Vax. He looked stressed and scared. His chest was rising and falling faster and his eyes darted everywhere, as if Vax was looking for a place to hide or a swift exit. But above all, Percy recognized the curve of his shoulders over his body as Vax tried to make himself as small as possible. “Be patient. It might take her a while to trust you again.”
“I love her. I would wait all my life for her.” Vax brought his knees to his chest and let his head fall between them. Even if he tried to hide it, Percy could still hear the sharp, labored breaths he had learned to associate with an impending panic attack.
“It’s not me who you have to tell that to.” Percy moved on the couch, trying to get closer, and patted Vax’s shoulder. “Take a deep breath now,” he instructed.
Vax raised his head slightly, only enough for Percy to see the scared glint of a brown eye darting back and forth. He took a long breath in and out and gestured for Vax to do the same, but the other just stared at him with the same fear and anxiety.
“Everything will be alright, Vax.” He tried again, rubbing Vax’s back. This time Vax breathed with him, faster at first, but then slow until his breath became steady and relaxed.
“Good?” Percy asked. Vax nodded, eyes dropping in embarrassment. “First time you have a panic attack?”
“No. Been a while.”
“It’s alright. You’re safe here. Everything will work out well in the end. You’ll see.”
Vax nodded and curled up on himself, falling into silence.
“Percival?” Vax finally broke the silence after ten minutes.
“Yes?”
“What’s the deal between you and Vex’ahlia?”
Percy’s first reaction—much to Vax’s delight—was being taken aback by the sudden question. His second reaction, however, was everything Vax had expected and more. His cheeks turned pink, then a redness that spread to the rest of his face and down to his neck. His eyes bulged wide open in fear for the fate his answer might bring, but overall, the main emotion was embarrassment.
“I–we’re—” Percy stammered, dragging himself away from Vax. “—just friends.”
“You don’t sound very convincing,” Vax smiled. Percy was shocked to see that it wasn’t a teasing smile. Vax was being sincere.
“It’s complicated.” Percy mirrored his words from earlier, making Vax chuckle.
“You like her,” It wasn’t a question, Percy realized. “Just… don’t hurt her, please? I would hate to break your kneecaps if you did.”
Percy laughed lightheartedly, but there was doubt in his eyes, “Here I was thinking you would do something worse than that.”
“I might.”
“You have nothing to worry about, Vax. She would never be with a guy like me.”
“Now that’s where you’re wrong, Freddy.”
“Freddy?” Percy combed a hand through his messy hair with a cocked smile.
“You are exactly her type. Dangerous, mysterious… I bet you have a tragic past, too.” Vax leaned down on his seat with a burning hatred in his eyes. “You have seen death and pain. Like recognizes like.”
“Yes, I have,” Percy confessed, dropping his hand back onto his lap.
“Just don’t do something stupid like get my sister pregnant and leave her. If you do, your kneecaps will be the only thing left in one piece. Got it?”
Percy swallowed hard as cold sweat dripped down his spine. He had no reason to believe Vax was serious, but something inside him told him he should heed his words.
“I would never do something like that to her—to anyone, really. I promise.”
“Rich people like you make a lot of promises they can’t keep, de Rolo.”
For the second time that night, Percy was taken aback by Vax’ildan’s words. He took a moment to mull over what his roommate said (had he really threatened to kill him if he got Vex pregnant and left her?) and the message hidden between the lines. Not only did the twins have experience with death and suffering, but from Vax’s tone, they had been at the hands of someone wealthy. Someone bad enough to get a poor woman pregnant and leave. Could it be—?
“Worry not. Even if I were Vex’ahlia’s type, I would never act on my feelings for her. She deserves someone better. Someone who will bring her happiness. I’m not that person, Vax. My life is surrounded by darkness and suffering, and I will not be responsible for adding more pain to her life.”
Vax stumbled back as if he had been hit in the stomach. Percy’s words rang true in his heart (had he not professed almost the same thing just minutes before, after all?), yet he had trouble believing them to be true. Not in the sense that Percy was lying, but that Vax couldn’t accept there would be someone in the world who would bring his sister more pain and darkness than their father and the bastard who drained her joy for his own ego.
“Look at us… We’re two idiots digging our own graves, aren’t we?” Vax asked, half-jokingly.
“Yeah,” Percy chuckled. “Yeah, we are.”

iRacing UK&I Radical Race Series Open Day, What a Load of Fun it Was!
iRacing UK&I Radical Race Series Open Day, What a Load of Fun it Was!
Hi Everyone,
So it has been a good couple of years since we’ve held an open day for obvious reasons but last Saturday we jumped back on the saddle with a behind closed doors event which proved a lot of fun.
Thanks to Covid I really got back into my sim racing, especially iRacing, and being that I raced a Radical in the real world at the time I naturally gravitated to racing the Radical SR8 in the simulator and then discovered league racing with the UK&I Radical Race Series where we all meet up every Thursday night for a weekly league race online, the main advantage of league racing is that you race the same people every week so there is a mutual respect there and the quality of racing is much higher and enjoyable.
The funny thing is that we speak all the time on Discord and race every week but most of us have never met so with the iLounge Racing Showroom now ready for action it seemed like the perfect opportunity to arrange a get together which we did last Saturday and I have to say I was thrilled that pretty much everyone came along, travelling from all over the country and we all got along as if it was a old school reunion where we had known each other for years, obviously helped by our common love for sim racing but I must say everyone was so nice, such a great bunch of people.
So we spent the day enjoying the Sims and HiFi, fired up the BBQ where Ady was top chef, then the real fun part was to take us bunch of Virtual Racers to Rye House Go Kart track to race for real, again I was so pleased that we managed to get a full grid of 24 Karts together for this and just like on iRacing there was great respectful racing throughout the whole field, not one to blow my own trumpet but I was over the moon to get pole and win the race in such a competitive field or racers but I am the first to admit that I had home advantage as I do race at Rye a fair bit so it was a little unfair. Then after the racing a bunch of us went out for a curry to talk sim racing some more, it really was the perfect day.
Look forward to doing it all again next year.
If anyone would like to join the RRS league please find a link to the website below, you’ll be very welcome and will experience some of the nicest people in Sim racing and will have some excellent racing too –
https://www.radicalraceseries.co.uk/
Also this week’s race at Monza is well worth watching, one of the most fun races races I have ever raced on iRacing.
Watch this space for HiFi Open days starting up again soon.
Cheers,
Paul.

6月13日 - Free Day | Universal Studios Japan
Not only did I grow up in Orlando, Florida, all my life, but my high school was literally a crosswalk away from Universal Studios. So it is no surprise that I've been to Universal probably way more than the average person might ever go to the park in their lifetime. The theme park was practically just an extension of my high school. So when I saw that I had the opportunity to visit the park in Osaka, I jumped at the chance (quite literally).
•••
Train line mixup 🚉
Tumblr media
As we tried to find our way to Universal City (where the theme park was located), Google Maps kept trying to tell us to use a shinkansen to get to Osaka. Still, luckily, because of priorly going to Himeji, we knew there was a special rapid train that headed in the same direction. After utilizing the rapid train, we mixed up on transferring lines to another special train specifically for Universal. We quickly figured out how to make our way to the park, but it only made me wonder how much more difficult it could be for tourist families unfamiliar with the train system or even a basis in Japanese.
Universal City 🌏🏙️
Tumblr media Tumblr media
While the Orlando location also has a city walk, the city walk in Osaka is much more extensive, with hotels and convenience stores galore. While a lot was replicated from the one in Orlando, Osaka's unique spin was superior in its accommodations to locals and tourists alike. I plan to eventually return on my own time to explore the area extensively.
Universal Studios Japan 🌏🎢
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Where do I even begin? I wouldn't be able to entirely give my thoughts and opinions on the park without easily writing over 1,000 words so that I won't go into too much detail. The park was truly enjoyable. Though smaller than its Orlando predecessor, it is packed with various rides and character IPs for the whole family to enjoy. From the kids' area of Sanrio, Minions, and Snoopy to the thrilling areas of the likes of Spider-Man, Jurassic Park, and Hollywood Dream. One cannot mention Universal Studios Japan without bringing up Super Nintendo World. Growing up on all the modern Mario games from Super Mario 64, and Mario Kart, all the way to even Super Mario 3D World (to name a few), it felt so nostalgic and surreal actually to experience my childhood in a tangible way. One thing is for sure—I'll definitely have to bring my siblings and family.
•••
Universal Studios will always be a fond part of my childhood and teen years. I hope to one day share that love and experience with my children in the future. As a Japanese major, seeing how one of my favorite theme parks was adapted to the language and culture really made it one of if not the highlights of my trip thus far. I am so glad I got the opportunity to spend my free day like this.
------
Media Reflection 📹🎢
Mario is one of if not the world's most well-known video game character IP and franchise. If you ask most American kids what they think of Japan, one of the top answers would probably be Mario (after like sushi or ninjas). However, despite Mario being from a Japanese video game company, he's presenting very culturally ambiguous. Hello Kitty is another good example of an IP being ambiguous and easily globally marketed. And in such a sense, it addresses a more prominent cultural topic of how it represents Japan to the rest of the World, particularly the West, as often a lot of their media content, especially with video games, takes place in ambiguous worlds that aren't explicitly "Japan" or "America." Because of that, it allows audiences in places like the West to identify themselves with the characters as if they were from their region and not just simply Japanese products.
Going to Super Nintendo World allowed me to view Mario and his franchise through a different lens than how I did growing up. As a child, Mario represented Japan whenever it was featured in games as a country very much involved with its cultural history but slightly out of place within a game. However, those subtle features were seeds planted that ultimately helped spark interest in many children in learning more about Japan and its culture and language. Seeing the characters interact and speak in their original language and even how different children of different cultures identified with them in the park made me admire how a Japanese video game corporation like Nintendo spread its influence not only domestically but also globally, showing how in the modern World Japan can compete as the power of cultural influence along with countries such as the United States and France. But also realize that as ignorant as it sounds, Mario is indeed a Japanese product.

Hi! So, I absolutely love your series where the MC is the kid of Lucifer, and I was wondering if I could request that with Diavolo and Barbatos? •v•
:0 you definitely can! Right now I’m just doing Diavolo, but Barb’s will be up sometime soon!
MC is Half Demon and Oh Shit They’re Diavolo’s Kid-
Diavolo wasn’t exactly what one would expect of the prince of Hell, I mean, he was suppressing the urge to bounce in his seat from pure excitement. I mean, his exchange program was starting! Humans, demons, and angels, all together, his dream was coming true.
All that was left was for the student to arrive, the portal opened, and the human fell flat on their back. Oof, maybe Diavolo should have set up some kind of landing zone filled with pillows. No matter! The human was-
What peculiar eyes this human had…
Oh… oh dear…
Dad-volo
The MC was his child, no question about it. This was… very unexpected. Well, the entire assembly hall was completely quiet, and the kid looked like they were getting impatient.
“HEY! Mind telling me what the hell is going on?!”
After that, Diavolo launches into his explanation, also the explanation that he’s definitely this kid’s dad. Kid was not impressed, they tried to square up with Diavolo and Lucifer had never been more confused as to what to do.
Well, the moment MC sprouted wings and launched themselves at Diavolo, Dia caught them with one hand and continued speaking like nothing happened.
MC, please calm down… Diavolo didn’t know they existed, let him make it up to them! They’re going to stay at the Demon Lord’s Castle! Dia’s going to be a good dad!
“This feels like the plot to the world’s most messed up fairytale.” MC jammed their hands into their pockets and grumbled. “I get sucked into hell and find out I’m royalty there. Great.”
Diavolo managed to smile and awkwardly reach out to give them a pat on the head, then retracted his hand after the kid shot him a glare. “Well, it’s not a very traditional fairytale, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy your time here.”
“Mm, sure.” MC mumbled.
Okay, so his child wasn’t that enthusiastic about the exchange program, but Diavolo was sure they’d come around.
Dia tried everything he could possibly think of to get his kid to both like him and enjoy their time as an exchange student. A lot of things had… mixed results.
Also, legally recognizing MC as his child and legitimizing them caused a big stink amongst the nobles who were opposed to the exchange program to begin with. So MC then had to deal with a few assassins. Wonderful. Fantastic. Show stopping. Dia, be a good dad and comfort your angsty murder target- I MEAN preteen.
They do manage to build a good relationship fairly quickly despite their less than stellar first impressions, and Diavolo made them a promise that he knew he wouldn’t ever break: he would let them live as normal a childhood as possible.
This means that MC gets to do all the normal kid stuff that Diavolo wasn’t allowed to do. It honestly works out great for everyone. MC gets to live their life, Diavolo gets the satisfaction of knowing that his kid’s having fun, and Barbatos doesn’t need to worry about MC causing chaos in the castle.
Man… does this kid’s magic potential scare the shit out of everyone though…
Tired Uncle Lucifer
No. This has to be a violation of his worker rights. It cannot be legal for him to be this stressed.
He knew this exchange program was a bad idea. LUCIFER FUCKING KNEW IT. This kid was judging him. Why did he suddenly feel self conscious about every single one of his features? This child was picking him apart and they hadn’t even said anything!
He confiscated Asmo’s phone immediately, this was a matter of national security! Satan’s too! Beel as- oh shit Lucifer may have to give Beel the heimlich maneuver, then take his phone.
When all the brothers eventually got back to the HOL, they were greeted with Mammon getting shaken down by Levi.
“Lucifer! Ya won’t believe this! Levi- what’s wrong with you?” “The exchange student is Diavolo’s child.” “What..?” “*pops the cork off a bottle of Demonus* the exchange student’s Diavolo’s child.”
The worst part about this kid was that they took to the privileges of being royalty like a fish to water. MC went out and did whatever the fuck they wanted, and Lucifer needed to make sure a state of national emergency wasn’t called just because MC picked a fight at RAD.
It didn’t help that MC was just so unimpressed with Lucifer. Anytime Lucifer would tell them not to do something they would just raise their eyebrows and challenge his authority without saying a word.
What the fuck.jpg
The things he does for his prince boyfriend…
Cool Uncle Mammon
Huh, so this little pipsqueak is Lord Diavolo‘s kid? Hm, do ya think they’d let him into the royal treasury? No? Okay… lame.
Mammon then decides this kid would be just perfect for scamming people! Who is going to say no to the Crown Prince’s kid? A suicidal person, that’s who!
And the kid is… up for it? Wow, Mammon didn’t even have to grovel! Awesome!
It’s such a shame that Lucifer came in and promptly removed MC from Mammon’s presence. Tsk, killjoy…
Mammon and MC do get along swimmingly after MC stops angsting. Whenever they hang out it’s pure chaos.
And they would have gotten away with it too- wait, they do get away with it. Because who’s going to question the Crown Prince’s kid? >:)
Reclusive Uncle Leviathan
Levi was in the middle of throttling Mammon for his money back when Lucifer burst through the door looking like he had spent over 1000 Grimm on a gacha game only to not get the card he wanted.
And where was that human he said would be staying with them? Huh? The human’s HUH????!!!!
… wack. Maybe he shouldn’t have skipped out on that Student Council Meeting…
Either way, ew, new person he needed to talk to. NO THANKS. Well, no thanks until MC started to visit the HOL to hang out with Mammon. Of course those two normies decided to bug him. OF COURSE.
Levi finally snapped when MC loudly proclaimed that they could totally beat Levi in Mario Kart. Haha, NO. Levi challenged the little runt to a 1 v 1 race on Rainbow Road.
Kid lost. Obviously. Rainbow Road is rigged.
Honestly, kid’s alright. Still a total normie, but not completely terrible.
Cat Uncle Satan
Huh, a half human child of the soon to be demon king, how very interesting.
Oh, and just look at Lucifer’s face. :D priceless. Satan wished he was fast enough to get his DDD out to snap a picture, but he wasn’t able to…
But back to MC, oh how very intriguing. How much power do they have in comparison to Diavolo? Will using that power rip their fragile little body apart? Would they learn to control it? Satan was just dying to find out.
His feelings on the child themselves were mixed at best. They were clearly unhappy with the situation and Satan could sympathize, being thrust into a completely new world and then being told you can’t leave and are also royalty? That has to be hard. But this kid was still being an unreasonable little shit.
Satan continued to try and study MC from afar until the kid themselves walked right up to him and half demanded half pleaded for his help in studying for a test.
Not being one to avoid an opportunity to flex how smart he is, Satan agreed to help out. (Nerrrrd)
And honestly, it went well. When the kid wasn’t being a little shit, they were actually quite pleasant to be around.
Overly Affectionate Uncle Asmo
…wut
Listen, when Asmo asked Lucifer to pick a cute human, he didn’t mean cute as in CHILD.
This kid was DIAVOLO’S?! What lucky human had gotten to have the experience of [Jesus Fucking Christ, Asmo I’m not writing what he said for the sake of the nation]
Anyhoo~ little MC just made his heart go “SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE SO CUTE!” They were so cute Asmo could just eat them up!
But they were so mean! That scowl they always had on was going to give them wrinkles and ruin their perfectly cute face!
Sigh, oh well. He can’t manually rearrange people’s expressions. What he can do is take this child shopping. Poor Diavolo was constantly in his RAD uniform, this poor innocent baby shouldn’t have to suffer the same fate.
The kid continued to scowl at everything, but at the same time, their little quips were very entertaining. This little kid spitting verbal venom at anyone who displeased them reminded Asmo of someone… he just couldn’t place who, but they definitely had amazing hair and a cute face :3
Hungry Uncle Beel
Where’s the takeout- I mean human? What’s happening? …are all humans this small? Dang, that’s barely enough for a snack.
So the human’s not going to live with us because they’re not fully human and Diavolo’s kid? Huh. Wild. Anyway, what’s for dinner?
Beel’s not too invested in this drama, he misses Belphie too much to be that interested…
The kid’s weirdly interested in how cool and strong Beel is though. MC tails him to the gym pretty often.
Diavolo and Beel already being gym buddies send tweet-
Since this benevolent little shit likes Beel so much, they decided to take it upon themselves to help with the family drama.
Beel finds that very sweet 🥺
Murder sleepy Uncle Belphie
Oh man… if you thought Belphie was being unfair to L!MC due to their parentage… hoo boy…
When this kid waltzed up the attic steps like they ran the place, Belphie needed to hold himself back from trying to break down the door and throttle this kid.
Pff, of course Diavolo would have a half human kid. Of course.
…kid beat the shit out of him when he tried to kill them. We stan this MC.
After all is said and done, Belphie still isn’t overly fond of MC. They’re brash and rude and only funny 40% of the time. They don’t even like napping 😒
But Beel likes the little runt, so Belphie and MC put up with each other.
Bonus! Your Angelic Uncle Simeon’s Chihuahua
:0 friend!
MC: *speaks*
>:0 not friend! Begone! *throws crucifix*

Daniel Ricciardo on his passion for combat sports, a walkout song and the time he asked Lewis Hamilton to ‘fight’
McLaren Formula One driver Daniel Ricciardo, who currently sits seventh in the driver standings heading into this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix, is among the world’s best behind a steering wheel. But how would he fare if he swapped his racing gloves for boxing or MMA gloves?
“I’d love to do a charity boxing match or something just to feel that adrenaline of walking to a ring,” Ricciardo said. “It’s on my to-do list for sure. At school I had a few little fights but nothing crazy. Nothing I’d brag about here.”
Ricciardo says he learned the sport of boxing from a friend who fought as an amateur growing up. However in recent years his love of combat shifted more toward mixed martial arts, a sport that is “quite beautiful. It’s an art form and I was just taken by it.”
The Australian — who boasts 4.6 million followers on Instagram — rarely misses a fight night, whether that’s a small card or pay-per-view. Every Monday he gears up for multiple MMA podcasts to hear analysis on what just took place in the cage.
In an exclusive interview with The Athletic, Ricciardo opened up about his love for fighting, which driver would make the best opponent and why Lewis Hamilton turned down an opportunity to get in the ring against him.
You’re an avid fight fan. How did this passion for the sport start?
One of my best friends growing up, when he was growing up, he was doing amateur boxing and got very good at it. I was then doing my racing and he was doing his boxing. We were both on a bit of an unconventional path — both individual sports, not really the typical sports the kids at school were doing. We had that in common. Once I started taking my racing more seriously I began taking my fitness more seriously. So I started going to his gym to just train. I really enjoyed doing it. But the truth is — I don’t want to lie to anyone. I’m not a fighter. As much as I would picture beating the bully up at school, it’s not me. But I just fell in love with not only doing it but also watching it.
I enjoyed watching boxing but it was really when I got exposed to MMA … It just had me. It was back in 2011 when I started properly getting into it. It was the quickest sport I had ever been absorbed by. I was all in.
My whole YouTube feed is just all MMA shows, whether it’s press conferences, interviews, podcasts. It’s just full of MMA stuff. I’m a full nerd now.
Being in Australia and traveling a lot, are you forced to get up at weird times for fights?
The beauty was I was in LA when (Conor McGregor vs. Dustin Poirier 2) was on so it was prime time and I was happy. But normally in Europe, it’s 4 a.m. or 5 a.m., which isn’t as good. Any kind of sporting event that you look forward to, it’s always cool when it’s in the evening because you have all day to get ready and talk about it. If you wake up at 4 a.m. it’s like “ugh,” and then you’re straight into it so there’s not as much of a build-up. But it’s all good.
So do you still train at all?
No. To races, my trainer carries some pads and gloves just to stay a little sharp and change it up. If I’m getting my reflexes with some tennis balls, maybe I throw in a bit of a boxing combination or something. Again, I’m not saying I’m good or anything. But I just enjoy the whole movement part of it.
Boxing was cool and I enjoyed watching it growing up. But there was something with MMA where there’s just so many different disciplines and the matchups … as a contest it was so much more open and for that, exciting. I feel — I know it’s not always the case — you can kind of tell in boxing if someone is getting momentum, the advantage. It’s like “this guy is going to win the fight.” But in MMA, it’s like “this guy is winning standing but if this goes to the ground, it’s back to square one.” So I just loved it. I was really immersed by it all.
Did you have a particular fighter or fight that got you hooked early on?
One of the first events I watched was UFC 116. Chris Leben was on the card and I think he was losing the fight. And then he got a triangle with probably 20 seconds to go in the third round, so that was really exciting. Stephan Bonnar was also on that card and he got a really cool finish on “The Polish Experiment” Krzysztof Soszynski. That was a card for me where I was very taken from that. Then I discovered “The Ultimate Fighter.” I just binge-watched all of those (seasons).
In terms of fighters, Leben was a character, I liked him. Carlos Condit. I’d say Condit and Cub Swanson were two guys I got behind early on. Condit, I love his style and the way he carries himself.
Have you been to a lot of cards in person?
The very first one I did was the best for me personally. To this day, it’s my favorite sporting event I’ve ever been to: (Conor) McGregor-(Chad) Mendes. Vegas in July 2015. Obviously McGregor, but he wasn’t yet a champion and still kind of on the rise. It was the energy and atmosphere. It was just wild.
The whole event too. (Robbie) Lawler-(Rory) MacDonald, which had the fight of the year. Every fight on the main card I think was a finish, so I got very lucky at my first event.
I’ve done (Michael) Bisping-(Anderson) Silva in the UK. That was a great contest as well.
There are a lot of great fighters from Australia and New Zealand like Israel Adesanya, Alexander Volkanovski and Robert Whittaker. Have you had a chance to meet any of them?
I haven’t met them. A couple of them I’ve had interactions with on social media. But I love Whittaker, obviously Volkanovski is killing it. I’m fairly patriotic to the Aussie fighters. If they are fighting, 99 percent of the time I’ll be supporting them. But one of my good buddies is roommates with Luke Rockhold, so I got to know Luke the last couple of years. I was trying to do some training over Christmas with him but it didn’t end up working out.
I know you’re a big shoey guy. What do you think of Tai Tuivasa doing it after wins?
I’ve had a bit of contact with Tuivasa as well. It’s obviously great. But one thing I can’t get behind is spitting. That’s a little extra.
Plus he’ll grab some random fan’s shoe.
He definitely takes it to the next level. It’s cool that — as disgusting as it is — we have some traditions like this.
Shifting a bit to F1, have you ever gotten into any big fights on the track? What was the worst fight you’ve gotten in?
Earlier in go-karting there was a bit more. Unfortunately in F1, I guess because you’re on the world’s stage, even if you push someone you probably are going to get a fine or get penalized. At times it’s a little too clean. But I’m still waiting for the day that someone confronts me and I just lay them out (laughs).
You also just seem a lot more laid back than a lot of other drivers, so you’d probably not be my first choice of someone getting into a fight soon.
I’m all talk, it would be nice obviously to not have to fight anyone. But no one would expect it from me. Even when I tell people I’m a fight fan, people are like “oh really? You’re into that? You seem too nice to like that.”
But to get where I have in the sport, you need a bit of a killer streak in you. I do have it, but don’t always show it.
What other driver would make the best fighter?
I know some guys have done — for fitness — hit some pads. Randomly, he doesn’t have a seat this year, but Daniil Kvyat started doing quite a lot of boxing last year for his training. I saw a few clips and it started to look like he knew what he was doing. I would say he would be the guy who has the most idea. I’d put him and myself up there. The rest I don’t think stand a chance.
So if you had a charity event, you don’t have anyone in particular you’d want to go against?
To be honest, I actually asked Lewis Hamilton. At the beginning of 2016, he posted a video on his Instagram hitting pads. I was as well at the time, so I was like “hey, let’s do a charity fight.” I asked him in person. But he didn’t bite on that one so I was a little sad.
I might re-ask the question.
What about Max Verstappen? For people who watched the first season of the F1 show “Drive to Survive” on Netflix, I’m sure they would love to see you guys throw down at some point.
That would have been cool as well (laughs). Max would be a good competitor in the ring. The way he drives, he’s quite stubborn. He’d be a hard guy to put away. He’s probably the guy that you’d choke him and he’s going to sleep and not tapping. That would make an interesting one.
In contrast, is there an MMA fighter you’d like to race on the track?
An obvious one would be Conor McGregor. To hear in his Irish accent all kinds of things, that would make pretty good television. And he loves his cars. It’s obvious, but that would probably be the best.
How often would you say you watch fights now? Not just PPVs, right?
Unless I have something like work or another commitment, I’m watching it every week. Mondays I’m getting ready for every podcast. I sound like a real nerd but it’s just an addiction. I love it. Anyone doing that for Formula 1, I’d be like “you’re such a nerd,” but here I am doing it with MMA.
Is it hard to follow everything during the race season?
If I can’t see it live, then 100 percent I’m going to watch the replay or buy it later. But it’s also a good escape. If I’m traveling and I’m in between races, to get my mind away from my competition, I like to watch it. I also try to pick up things as well. Whether it’s from a mental point of view … I’ll look at the walkouts and how they are behaving. I try to figure out if they are really as calm and collected as they are portraying or if it’s a bit of a facade. I’m trying to work out what I can use in my events.
Do you have a walkout song prepared if you were to fight?
I’ve thought about it. The short answer is no. You typically have to have something heavy and fast, but I fell in love with Chris Weidman’s “Won’t Back Down.” It’s not typically a song that will pump you up but it’s so iconic and now it’s his, it’s very fitting.
I’d go for something more lyrically powerful as opposed to instrumental. I loved Max Holloway’s, I think it’s called Mount Everest (by Labrinth). (X)

Streamer Spotlight: Storymode Bae
@storymodebae has been streaming on Twitch since January 2018. Her passion for video games comes from watching her dad play games like Doom, Duck Hunt, and Super Mario. In 1996, she received her very own PlayStation. She spent hours with Crash Bandicoot and Spyro before getting a Game Boy with Pokémon Blue in ’99. She has had her eyes glued to a screen, whether it’s Playstation, PC, Nintendo Switch, or a mobile, ever since.
What has been the best streaming moment that you have experienced?
It’s hard for me to really narrow down my best streaming moment because, honestly, the way my Bae Brigade continually shows up for me, every stream can easily be filled with amazing streaming moments. I will say, one moment that blew me away was last year during my birthday celebration stream. Not even 30 minutes of me being live and thanking everyone for the birthday wishes, Twitch staff came in and raided my entire stream and chat, announcing that I had made partner! I had the ugliest cry ever, shriveled chin and all, but I wouldn’t change it for anything! I was so overwhelmed with emotion, support, and love!
Congratulations on being featured in Twitch’s Black History Month celebration! What do you hope viewers took away from that experience?
Being featured in Twitch’s Black History Month is definitely an honor! If nothing else, I want people to realize that there are so many dope Black content creators putting in work throughout the entire year, regardless of all the racism & trolling we have to face. I often say that we’re here and we aren’t going anywhere, because it’s true! We are worth so much more than only being celebrated and highlighted during February.
Tumblr media
How can we disrupt the gaming industry, so there is an increase in women of color being celebrated?
Unfortunately, a lot of Black creators, especially women, aren’t being properly highlighted or promoted, even though they’re putting out amazing content. As we know, the gaming industry is primarily dominated by white men, and to be honest, I’m tired of it. Groups like Black Girl Gamers and Brown Girl Gamer Code provide opportunities and create a sense of community for Black women, which is amazing. We just need the right set of eyes on us to properly promote us and show the world that yes, Black women play video games, too.
How do you see #BlackExcellence365 being celebrated in your streaming experience?
To me, #BlackExcellence365 is constantly defying odds and proving others wrong. Not only do we influence the majority of American culture, but we’re also able to act in ways that make us and our communities proud. I want more Black people to get the shine and recognition they deserve. If that means taking the time to shout out other Black content creators, promote their content, and give them opportunities to come on my channel so they can be heard, I will. We can be great on our own, but together we’re a force to be reckoned with.
Tumblr media
What is your dream for your gaming and streaming career? Where do you hope to be by next year?
When I first began streaming, it was a hobby and something I did to pass the time. I saw streamers on YouTube and said, “Well, I love video games, and I LOVE talking, I can do this too!” Now that streaming has become my career, I want to take it even further. I’ve learned that my voice has power. I love being able to motivate and inspire other people and want to continue to make people proud of the efforts and work I’m putting in. It’s more than hoping to pay off my student loans—I want to use this platform to bring awareness and honesty about the Black experience while streaming, and just in life in general. I want to use opportunities like this to promote other amazing Black streamers or groups that deserve their shine as well because I remember the experience of thinking that your voice or content isn’t being heard or seen. I want everyone to eat and have a seat at the table—word to Solange.
You’ve got some friends over for the night. What game do you pull out?
Game night?! Oh, we’re definitely playing Mario Party or Mario Kart! If I feel like starting chaos and breaking up friendships on that particular day, we’re playing Overcooked 2 or Monopoly.
Thanks, Storymode Bae! Make sure to give her Tumblr some love or watch her streams here!

My thoughts on the Sonic series and fandom
Y’know, it’s no stranger to the internet that Sonic fans typically tend to be the most “passionate” fan base. And honestly, we really are.
Sonic has been a game that I personally will hyper-fixate for awhile, drop, and then come back to. Usually when a new game gets announced. Which I think is a pretty natural life cycle. Since that’s when most of the buzz starts to stir around the internet again and sucks me back in. This time I’m also hyping up because of the next movie. I know a lot of you are too.
Anyways, the thing that’s always bugged me the most about this fandom is the constant bickering and in-fighting of what a Sonic should be, could be, or whatever…
Is it really bad that Sonic has had so many variations and game styles over the years? Yeah, maybe there is 1, 2, or maybe even a handful that you don’t enjoy. You know, the thing I’ve always enjoyed the most about Sonic? Is the games and his character. Also his natural ability to adapt to that narrative, gameplay, or even music style of that game’s theme. This also goes for not just for the character of the same name, but the entire cast as well. There is no denying the amount of fan support in this fandom either. Whether it be a modded fan-game, fan-made artwork, fan-fictional material, fan-etc. We have all been here to consume the versions of Sonic(the series) we lean towards the most, even if we have to make it ourselves. Right?
I know what you’re thinking. “Yeah? What about the clunky controls some of the past games have had?”
Well, believe it or not, but I take those as just learning a new set of rules to play the game my favorite game character is currently in. You see, I don’t care if maybe it’s just a “crappy game with a Sonic skin” to get consumers to buy it. Not to say a percentage of that probably is true, but for me….
Sonic is more than that. Yeah I might play that Kart game with Sonic in a car, or that awkward 3D blast game on genesis. Maybe some games could be considered to do things better, or don’t have a weird gameplay style like labyrinth. Part of the challenge for me is learning the game, and earning that feeling of accomplishment after completing it. Especially if I had to learn tricks, glitches, whatever to do so. What I’m getting at, is everybody has their favorite game they consider the best out of the rest of them. It’s probably also the one you have fond memories of SUCCESSFUL FAILURES. You know what I’m talking about. Those jumps you couldn’t quite reach, that bonus stage you completely dominated in(even if by sheer luck).
The point I’m getting at is: Sonic could never just be a character skin to me. When I play a Sonic game. It’s like my fucking suit of armor to learn, and make this game my bitch. You’ve seen speed runners do it. Crappy controls and all. They’ll hit that Sonic speed and look stylish while doing it. Warping around if need be. That’s Sonic to me. That’s why I enjoy it.
***BONUS: I’m absolutely glad Sonic has changed over the years. Yeah nostalgia, but I’m a parent now. I get to witness my daughter playing and enjoying Sonic just like I did growing up. The best part is she enjoys the series for completely different reasons than I do! The conversations we’ve had. Whether it’s the memes she’s seen, the games she’s played. I guess it’s just a feeling that only certain people will ever experience. But consider that for once. Let new people into the fandom without telling to stay away.
I’ve already decided that when the new library opens up nearby, I’m going to donate my IDW paperback collections since I will be updating to the new hardback releases. This is something I want to do, because I want other people to have the opportunity to enjoy a version of the Sonic I also like.

The 5 Times Luther Thinks He’s in Love With You (and the one time he actually does something about it)
A/N: I’ve never written for Luther before but I am full on simping for this man. I know he’s kinda hated in the fandom so we’ll see if this fares better then my Diego piece. No, I still haven’t finished season 2 yet. If I were to spend as much time watching TUA as I did reading and writing fan fiction about it, I would’ve finished weeks ago. This might be super out of character for Luther so hopefully this doesn’t suck. It also ended up being way longer then I had intended and is officially the longest thing I’ve ever written. I think it starts out mediocre and ends strong so there’s that.

i. the time you treat his siblings like your own
The first time Luther thinks he might be in love with you is the day Klaus gets out of rehab...again. Over the last year, the Hargreeves clan has worked hard to get Klaus clean and sober, and Ben coming back to life was a big push for Klaus to get help. Unfortunately, it’s been more downs than it had been ups. As a survivor of childhood abuse yourself, you had told Luther it would take time for the mental scars their father left behind to heal and Klaus was no exception. Still, Luther had thought the process would go a little bit smoother than it had, and it killed him to watch his brother relapse again and again, and the toll it took on Diego and Ben every time he did. However, they thought this time might be different. Klaus had made a lot of progress during this last stint in rehab, progress he hadn’t made before. You coming into the Hargreeves family and becoming a rock to the siblings had brought a lot unexpected comfort to Klaus, that someone outside the family cared for him and his well-being. It had been a push he needed, and you really believed he’d stay clean this time.
Diego and Ben had volunteered to pick the seance up from rehab, with the other siblings arriving at your apartment to create some sort of semblance of a ‘welcome home’ party. You had volunteered to watch Klaus the next few weeks, knowing the Academy was no place for him to be. How could he stay sober living on the streets or at the home of all his abuse? And seeing as you didn’t drink, there was no alcohol for Klaus to even access if he wanted to. Luther had been adamant you didn’t need to go out of your way to make a space for Klaus but you had over ruled him with the support of Ben and Diego and the decision was made whether Luther liked it or not.
Over the course of the last year or so, you had sort of tumbled into his life, crashing straight into Luther one morning as he was leaving Griddy’s. It had snowed the night before, and the street was icy, and the next thing he knew, someone had walked straight into his large frame and was tumbling towards the ground. Luther reached out, large hands wrapping around your much smaller frame, and hoisting you back up before you could hit the ground. He awkwardly cleared his throat and put you back down on the ground. “Sorry about that.” He mumbled, overwhelmed by the fact that he had stupidly almost sent the pretty girl crash-landing to the ground.
“It was my fault, really. Shoulda been looking were I was going.” You said. Fate, however had other plans, when Ben came along the road. You turned to greet him, and his eyes drifted from you to Luther. He stopped next to you and a shit-eating smirk grew on his face. “Well, (Y/N), it looks like you’ve met my brother Luther. Luther, this is my co-worker (Y/N).” Luther had a moment of realization, understanding he had knocked into Ben’s favorite co-worker at the bookstore/cafe he talked so much about. Ben invited Luther back inside to Griddy’s as the two of you got breakfast before your shift and Luther agreed, not having a much better plan. Allison was in Manhattan with Vanya, Klaus was doing a stint in rehab, Diego was working at the gym, and Five was off god-knows-where doing god-knows-what. The breakfast was quite enjoyable, Luther observing your comfortable energy and your kind nature. You had offered your number to Luther before parting with Ben, in case “he ever needed a friend”. It wasn’t long after that, that the family had had a tumble towards rock-bottom as Klaus got out of rehab, immediately seeking the nearest drug he could get his hands on. Ben had asked you to come over and the support you offered the family through your experiences with an alcoholic mother and comfort had irrevocably changed your position and meaning to the family and to Luther. While Luther had always felt you were closest to him, the closest thing he had to a best friend, he couldn’t unsee the way you joked with Klaus, the support you offered Diego, the witty banter you’d exchange with Five, the conversations you’d have with Allison, the encouragement you offered Vanya, and the normalcy you brought Ben. He always thought that you liked them a little bit better, but every time, you were able to read that he was too far into his self-doubt, and assured him that he was and would always be your best friend.
This time was no different. As Klaus returned to the apartment and was practically glued to your side, he felt that small piece of him rile up again, making him want to shrink to the background. As the night wore on, he felt himself retreat further and further behind the walls in which he had put up. He had hoped to get a moment alone with you, which didn’t seem promising. But luck was on his side, and an opportunity arose, which came in the form of a Mario-Kart tournament. You excused yourself and Luther from the first few rounds, asking for his help with the dishes. He felt confused, as you always stated doing the dishes helped you focus and relax. You turned the water on, beginning to wash dishes and handing them to him to dry. He did so, in silence for a few minutes, but not a bad one. “You know that Klaus staying doesn’t change how I feel about you, right?” you said quietly, as to not let the Hargreeves overhear your discussion of one of his biggest insecurities. He nodded.
“Yeah, I know.” he said in a gruff voice, looking out over the city from your window, avoiding looking at you.
“Luther.” You said sternly and he chanced a glance at you. “You know I love your family like my own siblings and you know I would do anything for them.” He felt his stomach beginning to sink as he waited for the other shoe to drop that would never come. “But, you, you’re my best friend in the entire world. Nobody’ll ever come close.” You said, nudging his shoulder and turning back to the dishes. He looked down at you, and looked at the way your face was lit up by the light of the moon, and he looked back up the moon to where he spent so many years in isolation, hoping one day he’d get to meet someone like you. He was starting to think that he didn’t want to be just best friends anymore... and that thought scared him almost more than anything.
ii. the time he can’t imagine his life without you
The thought that does scare him more than anything is the thought of losing you. It’s never been a thought he’s allowed to stay in his mind long; shuddering away from the thought of losing you to the cold clutches of death, the way he lost Ben, the way he had thought he lost Five. Unfortunately, he is forced to confront the thought one night. Diego shows up the Academy, clutching you in his arms, cuts and bruises littering your frame. Luther is the only home at the time, everyone else either gone, living their lives or in the case of Five, at Griddy’s. Diego sets you down in a chair and with the exception of the minor physical harm and the fact that you can’t seem to stop shaking, you seem to be alright. “I’ll explain in a minute. Where’s Mom?” Diego asks quietly. This seems to snap Luther out of his state of shock, that if Diego thought your injuries might be bad enough to have Mom look over them, he needs to present and here.
“Diego, I told you-” you winced, a movement neither Hargreeves boy missed, “I’m fine.”
“Even still, Mom should check you out anyways. I think she’s upstairs. Do you want me to go get her?” Luther said softly. Diego shook his head.
“Nah, I’ll go grab her. You stay with (Y/N).” Luther nodded and took a tentative seat next to you, wanting nothing more than to reach out and pull you into his arms and quell all your fear and make you forget all this pain and-
“Oh, (Y/N), darling.” Mom’s soft voice reaches his ears. She checked you over, determining that all the injuries you sustained were minor and would heal within the next few days.
“See, Diego. I told you I was fine.” You snapped, as Mom put a kettle on the stove to make tea for the three of you.
“What even happened, (Y/N/N)?” Luther asked softly, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear, almost missing the way you leaned into his touch. Diego sighed and pinched the bridge of his noise.
“I was wondering the same thing myself.” He grumbled.
“It was just some creepy guy. I was fine.” The tension in the room is so thick one Diego’s knives could cut through it as the implications of what your sentence meant settled. A endless train of possibilities of what ifs fly through Luther’s brain that he almost misses what happens next.
“Fine?!” Diego asks incredulous. “Fine?! (Y/N), he had a knife-”
“I had it handled!” You said indignantly.
“You could have been killed!” Diego shouts, and the silence that follows is undeniably terrifying for all three of you. You looked to Luther, who must’ve looked like a fish out of water, gaping at you, struggling to come to terms with what Diego had just said.
“I might not be a superhero, but I can take care of myself.” You said, voice soft now, not making eye contact with either boy. Luther looks at Diego, who is clearly ready to make another argument and Luther finds the fear growing inside of him at an alarming rate. Luther stands up abruptly, his chair toppling over behind him.
“(Y/N), you could have died.” Luther says, now growing concerned regarding your apparent lack of concern for your well-being. The fear and panic spreading through his body seems ice-cold and the thought that Diego could have brought your lifeless corpse back to the Academy instead is rooting him to his now standing position. You look up at him.
“Okay, well I didn’t. I’m fine and here to live another day. Nothing worse then any thing you guys have done, and besides-”
“(Y/N), I could have lost you!” Luther yells, surprising all three of you. You look up at him. “After losing Ben, after losing Five, after everything that’s happened-” Luther goes quiet, choking on words he isn’t sure he means. I’m in love with you. I can’t do this without you. “I can’t lose you too.” His voice is soft and you look away from him, biting your lip.
“I’m sorry, okay? My co-worker called out, I didn’t think anything would happen. I've walked home a million times after closing, it’s never been an issue. I thought I had the situation under control.” You refuse to make eye contact with either boy, glaring a hole into the table. The silence remains for a while longer and Diego eventually excuses himself, saying you’ll finish the discussion in the morning. Mom put your tea down on the table, and you startle, seemingly forgetting the AI was still there. She leaves you and Luther alone in the kitchen with a gentle smile. Your hands are still trembling as your hands wrap around the cup, and Luther almost takes one of them in his own, but decides against it.
“I’m just glad you’re okay.” He says, softly. You look over at him, if for only a moment. He needs to start sorting of these thoughts of love he has towards you, but for right now, he’s just glad you’re still with him.
iii. the time Diego teases him
A month or so passes between that night and the next time Luther is forced to confront his foreign feelings for you. It’s early one morning and the eldest Hargreeves boys are sitting in a comfortable silence as Grace walks around the kitchen making breakfast. Diego is the first to break the silence. “So, Luther,” he begins, a shit-eating smirk upon his face, not unlike the one Ben wore the day you and Luther met. Luther stiffens, concerned about whatever is about to come out of his brother’s mouth. As good as their relationship has been since Texas, Luther can’t help but feel like there will always be a sort of unspoken tension between the two of them that will never truly go away, residual feelings of competition leftover from their childhood. “When are you going to tell her?” Luther stares at Diego, utterly confused about what the boy might be asking.
“Tell who what?” Luther asks, which in response, prompts Diego to roll his eyes.
“Don’t play dumb. I see how you look at her. When are you going to tell her?” Diego says, smirking. “C’mon, you can tell me. This is a safe space.”
“Tell who- Allison?” Luther blurts the name out, the only girl he can think of that Diego might be referring too. Diego startles at the name-drop of their sister.
“What- no, not Allison!” Diego splutters. “Jeez, you really have no idea who I’m talking about, do you?” Luther shakes his head. “I’m talking about (Y/N).” Luther relaxes at the sound of your name and sinks back into his chair, but he’s still concerned about what Diego thinks he needs to tell you.
“What am I supposed to be telling her?” Luther asks to which Diego shoots him a look. Luther finally understands, at least, he thinks he does. “I’m not telling her about my... condition.” Luther says, the word feeling weird on his tongue. It’s an open secret the family never speaks about, sensing Luther’s insecurities.
“That’s not- she doesn’t know?!” Diego asks, incredulously.
“Not unless one of you told her.” Luther says, anger growing in him at the thought of one of his siblings going behind his back and telling you, his closest friend, his deepest secret and biggest insecurity. He doesn’t need you to look at him the way his siblings do, with pity.
“Luther- Luther you have to tell her.” Diego says, his voice firm. “She has a right to know.” Luther casts a dark look at his younger brother.
“Right to know what? Right to know how Dad mutilated my body?! Right to know that no one will ever love me because of it?!” Luther asks, the anger (and fear) seeping into his tone. Diego sits back in his chair, not breaking eye contact with the blond boy. The quiet in the kitchen settles as Grace put the plates down in front of them but unlike before, this one isn’t comfortable. It’s awkward  and there’s strong emotion radiating off of the two boys.
“Thanks, Mom.” Diego says quietly, but Luther doesn’t say anything, not trusting his voice. “I was actually going to ask when you were going to tell the poor girl you’re in love with her.” Diego says, beginning to cut up the pancake on his plate. Luther startles and his eyes widen, looking back up from his food to face Diego.
“I don’t-” Now it’s Luthers turn to splutter through his words, struggling to form a cohesive sentence.
“You do, Luther, you sooo do.” Diego responds, the shit-eating grin returning to his face. Luther just stares at Diego. “I see the way you look at her. The way you drop everything to be near her, the stupid little smile you get whenever someone talks about her or she comes over, I see it.” Luther shrugs, feeling like he’s wading through concrete, trying to form a sentence in response to Diego’s too accurate statement.
“She’s our best friend.” Luther says, shrugging with a fake nonchalant attitude. The word friend feels foreign ion his tongue and wishes he could use something else that would more accurately describe his feelings for you.
“Sure, but I’d be concerned if Ben started looking at her the way you do.” Luther stares at Diego, the confusion returning. “Your face lights up whenever you see her.” Luther remains dumbfounded and quiet, sensing Diego had a point he wanted to get to. “I’m not the only one who thinks it either. We all see it. Sure, she’s our best friend and like a sister to us, but you, you’re in love with the girl.” Diego must take Luther’s silence as a reason to continue, because Diego puts his fork down and looks at Luther seriously. “I only bring all of this up because- well, if you don’t tell her soon, she won’t- won't stick around forever.”
At Diego’s words, it feels as if someone has dropped a rock in Luther’s stomach and he thinks he might be sick. The thought of you leaving- “She’s a patient person, but she’s not going to wait forever for you to figure out your feelings. So if you are in love with her, and I know that you are, you need to tell her- tell her everything.” Diego stresses the last word and Luther gathers that he means his condition as well. Luther wants to shove his plate away, walk away from Diego, and lay in his bed for the rest of the day, pretending that he hadn’t been forced to confront these feelings he isn’t ready to have for you.
Instead he mumbles out a “She’ll hate me.” Diego sighs.
“She won't hate you. I’m pretty sure she feels the same way but you’d have to ask Vanya or Ben for that answer, Lord knows she confides in them more than me.” Luther looks back up at Diego. “Besides, even if she doesn’t feel the same way, she won’t hate you.”
“But it will change things.”
“Sometimes change can be a good thing.”
“Not in this family.” Luther mutters as Five makes an appearance, the blue light startling Diego. The conversation gets left there but Luther can’t help but mull over Diego’s words, wondering if he’s right.
iiii. the time you have a fight
You and Luther’s friendship has been struggling, he knows it just as well as you do. Ever since his conversation with Diego, Luther has been pulling into himself, retreating further and further away from you. He’s not being a good friend, he knows that, and you deserve better, and he knows that too. Still, he can’t help but feel like the only way he’ll get over his feelings is by not being around, positive he won’t ever tell you that he thinks he might be in love with you. He knows there’s no way you're in love with him too. He’s ended up at your apartment tonight, returning a book Five had borrowed. Why he couldn’t return it himself, he wasn’t sure but Five had told he owed him one after “saving his sorry ass through two apocalypses”. Now that he was here though, he thinks it was just a ploy to get him here. Even still, when you invite him in, he can’t bring himself to say no to you. The pair of you stand in the kitchen in total quiet, the distance between the too of you feeling much more like a gaping chasm than the four feet. “What did I do?” You ask, arms folded across your chest, almost like your protecting yourself from him. Luther looks up at you. “Did I do something wrong?” A pause. “Why do you hate me?”
“I don’t hate you.” He says quickly, clearly too fast for your liking. You sigh and let your arms drop, turning away from him to put the hot water from the kettle into the two mugs in front of you.
“You do Luther. I can see it. You don’t come over anymore, you hardly speak to me when I’m around, I did something and now you’re mad at me.” Luther remains silent, something that seems to be occurring more and more lately. “If you hate me, if you want to end our friendship, that’s fine. I’ll let you go, but at least have the decency to tell me why.” Your voice trembles on the last word and Luther is kicking himself as he struggled to find words to assure that it’s not you, it’s him. However, his tongue feels heavy and his mouth feels like it’s full of cotton and his mind is blank. He couldn’t very well tell you the truth, he’d lose you for sure, but it looks like he’s losing you anyway. You must take his silence as reason to keep pushing. “If this is about- your condition-” your voice drops on those two words and Luther stands up abruptly.
“How do you know about that?!” He seethes. You glance up at him from where you’re staring intently at the tea steeping below you on the counter, but only briefly.
“Allison told me. Months ago.” You responded, voice quiet. He’s in the process of figuring out all the different colorful things he’s going to say to Allison upon his return at the Academy, when you speak again. “Why didn’t you tell me Luther? I’m your best friend.” There’s that word again. Friend. The word has caused so much stress, frustration, and confusion in his life and now he’s going to lose you over it too.
“You’d hate me.” You look up at him.
“I could never ha-” He interrupts you, the panic and fear and anger sliding down his spine.
“Or worse, you’d look at me like everybody else does, with pity in their eyes.” He spits the words out with so much venom, he surprises himself. It clearly surprises you as well.
“Is that what you really think?” You finally dare to make eye contact with him for the first time the whole night and your voice is cold. He shrugs, not knowing what to say. “After all this time, after everything, that’s all you think of me?” Luther is, once again, at a loss of words and he feels the panic crawling up his throat that if he doesn’t say something soon, it’s not going to be pretty. You take his silence as apparent confirmation because the words you utter next is ones he never wanted to hear.
“Get out.”
-
He throws the front door of the Academy open and spots Vanya coming down the stairs. They make eye contact and she shrinks back, feeling the anger radiating off of him. A pang goes through his chest, remembering the last time he felt this angry. “Where’s Allison?” He asks and Vanya nods her head towards the kitchen. He heads there and he can feel Vanya following behind him. His siblings are sitting around, clearly laughing at some sort joke Klaus has just finished telling. The room falls silent as they look over to a glowering Luther and Vanya who is shrinking behind him in the doorway. Luther’s eyes settle on Allison, who is conveniently, the furthest away from him. “What gives you the right to tell her about what Dad did?” His voice is low and and it’s Diego who understands first.
“Oh, shit.” Diego mutters. He glances over at Ben, who looks at Klaus, who looks to Vanya.
“Maybe we should...” Klaus says, as Diego and Ben move to stand up.
“Sit down.” Luther says, and the three resume their position as Vanya moves behind them. Allison is looking at the table, avoiding looking at him. Five’s head swings between Luther and the rest of the siblings.
“Did I miss something?” He asks, finally settling on Vanya and Diego. Diego shrugs.
“Unless, you’ve been missing the heart eyes Luther makes every time (Y/N) comes around, you’re as up to speed as the rest of us.” Five snorts. Luther lets Diego’s comment slide because the only thing he can feel is the sheer betrayal he feels at Allison’s actions. Before Five can formulate a response, Luther finds himself talking.
“What the hell, Allison!?” The girl finally makes eye contact with him. “After everything you and I have been through, what gives you the right to tell her that?! You knew, better than anyone, how I felt about that.” Allison sighs and looks away from him.
“I’m sorry, okay? I thought she already knew, I promise. I wouldn’t intentionally tell her that if I hadn’t thought she already knew.” Luther softens, but only a little.
“So I didn’t get a choice in the matter?! To tell the girl that I love-” His voice stops on the word, realizing what he’s just said out loud. Five’s eyes narrow and Klaus raises his eyebrows. No one else seems to be phased though, leading him to believe there’s been one too many conversations about him behind his back. Figures they’d leave Klaus and his big mouth and Five’s smart mouth out of it.
“Like I said, I thought she knew. Why didn’t you tell her?”
“I didn’t get a chance! You got to her months before I could!” Luther exclaims, getting defensive once again. He’d rather not think about the consequences of his words just yet.
“Wait, hold on. She’s known this for months?” Ben intervenes. Allison nods.
“Four.” She confirmed.
“Four months and she didn’t say anything?” Ben asks, chuckling to himself a little bit.
“This isn’t funny.” Luther deadpans, now staring down Ben.
“It is, just a little.” Ben said, his laughter growing. It seems to click for Vanya, who joins in on Ben’s laughter. “Why’d you never tell her Luther?” He asks, still struggling to hold in his chuckles.
“I- I didn't want her to hate me, or- or think of me differently.” Luther said quietly.
“Well that answers that then.” Vanya says. The siblings all look over to her and she shrinks back from the sudden attention. “Well, I’m just saying, if she’s known for four months, and she hasn’t said anything, and nothing’s changed, I’d say the answer’s pretty obvious.” It’s Klaus who understands next and his smirk grows.
“In fact, one might say, to know for four months and to not say anything means there’s something more.” He says, using the voice he must’ve used when he was preaching or whatever the hell he did with his cult in the 60′s.
“Where you going with this Klaus?” Diego asks. Its Allison who joins in next, a grin growing on her face.
“Well aside from our brother’s new confession of undying love for the poor girl, she must feel the same to know for four months and never say anything.”
“To let nothing change in hopes that one day you’d feel the same way for her.” Five finishes, realization dawning on his face.
“Well, it doesn’t matter because she’s never gonna speak to me again.” Luther says, and turns from his siblings, heading back up to his room. So, he’s pretty sure he’s in love with you. So what, if it just means losing you? He’d go through a million apocalypses, swallow his feelings for you a hundred times, if it meant you’d still be in his life.
v. the time you drop everything to be there for him
It’s been a week since you’ve spoken to Luther. Klaus and Ben keep telling him he should talk to you, to fix things, but if you can go this long without talking to him, he knows that you’re better off. You don’t need him in your life messing things up and making it harder for you. Unfortunately, late one night, fate makes the decision for him. It’s storming out and Luther hates the sounds of thunder. His heart is racing as he lays in his too small bed, arms clutching his comforter. He squeezes his eyes shut, trying to drown out the images in his brain as he searches for sleep again. His nightmare keeps replaying over in his mind, the image of you and his siblings lifeless on the ground. There was so much blood. He knows it’s just a nightmare, it has to be, but fear is crawling up his throat and he thinks he might be sick. What if that was real? What if it was some suppressed memory, and everyone he’s ever cared about is just- gone? His eyes fly open as he fumbles for his phone. He still isn't really sure how to use it but he knows well enough to call you. Pleasepickuppleasepickuppleasepicku-
“H-hello?” The voice on the other line sounds groggy and somehow through his sheer panic, he feels a pang of guilt for waking you up. His mind is racing and he still can't breathe but he can't deny the relief he feels hearing your sleepy voice. “Luther? You there?”
“Y-yeah, I’m here.” He stutters.
“Is everything okay? It’s 3 in the morning.”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” He can’t help the way his voice shakes, clearly giving away the reality. “I just... just needed to hear your voice, s’all.” His heart is slowing down the longer you’re on the phone with him.
“Do you want me to come over?” As much as he wants to say yes, he shakes his head, forgetting you can’t see him. He clears his throat.
“No- no, I’ll be okay. Just a nightmare.”
“I’m coming over. Do you want me to stay on the phone with you?” He can hear rustling in the background, visualizing you pulling your shoes on and grabbing your keys.
“You- you don’t have to do that.” He says, even though he wants nothing more than to pull you close to him and maybe fall asleep with you in his arms.
“Just stay on the phone with me okay Luther? I’ll be there in ten.”
-
It’s actually 7 minutes before you’re opening the door to the Academy and rushing in. Luther’s sitting on the stairs waiting for you. He had to get out of his room but he didn’t want to go too far, not wanting to miss your arrival. The light in the foyer is on and you slowly walk towards where he’s seated. You crouch down, so that you can make eye contact with the man. He looks up at you and he realizes how much he misses you, how much he yearns to be around you. “You okay?” You ask softly. He shakes his head, finally allowing himself to be vulnerable with you. “What can I do for you?” He shrugs, still not wanting to voice how much he just wants to hold you in his arms. “C’mon, let’s go to the kitchen. I’ll make tea.” He follows you wordlessly. He sits in silence as he watches you fill the kettle and put it on the burner. You come around behind him and reach down, sliding your arms around his neck. It takes him a minute to realize you’re hugging him around his larger frame. He takes your hand and squeezes it. All too soon, the kettle starts whistling and he reluctantly lets you go. You put the hot water into two mugs and put the teabags in, letting it steep as you set the mugs down in front of the two of you.
“Thank you.” He says, quietly. You nod.
“Of course.” You say as you take the seat next to him. “I’m always gonna be here for you, even when I’m mad at you.” He looks over at you, thoughts being brought back to your fight, if you could even call it that. “I’m not mad at you, by the way. I was upset that you felt like you couldn’t trust me, but I know that’s something that-” You draw in a breath. “Something that takes a while to build.”
“I do. I do trust you.” He says firmly. “I trust you more than I trust anyone else.” He says honestly. “I was just- just scared.” You scoot your chair closer to his until your knees are touching and you can lean your head on his shoulder.
“I’m not going anywhere, Luther. I promise.” He looks down at you as the truth finally settles comfortably in his heart for the first time. He’s in love with his best friend and he’s okay with it. He thinks that just maybe- you feel the same way.
+ the one time he actually does something about it.
Luther wakes up alone the next morning. Disappointment settles in his chest, hoping you’d still be there. He gets up however, and goes about his day.  He starts to worry though, as the day goes by, and he still hasn’t heard a word from you. He thinks that maybe last night had been out of pity, or some sort of obligation to his siblings. After dinner though, he gets a text from you, asking if he wants to come over. It doesn’t say what or why, but he misses you and he thinks he’s finally ready to tell you the truth, no matter what you might say in return. In fact, for the first time in a while, he’s starting to let himself hope, a feeling that’s a bit too foreign to him. He hopes you feel the same way about him. That you’re in love with him too. He agrees, texting you that he’d be over soon. He clear his throat, standing up from the table, and put his plate in the sink, ignoring the questioning look Five shoots him. He walks to your apartment, a dopey smile on his face. He makes it to your building and he lets himself in, watching how you turn to face him from the hallway. You give him a soft smile.
“Sorry about leaving this morning without saying anything. My co-worker called out so I had to cover their opening shift and I didn’t want to wake you because you looked really peaceful so...” You trail off, a light blush forming on your cheeks. He shook his head.
“It’s okay.” He says. The two of you stand there, just looking at each other. You startle finally.
“OH! I was wondering if you wanted to make these cookies with me? My Dad was finally able to get his hands on some of my Grandma’s recipes and I wanted to try one out?” He nods, smiling at the excitement lighting up your face. Your grandma had passed when you were little and it had been a struggle to get the family recipes, your family getting left out of a lot of the division of property. You had once told him that you were really only connected with her through baking. He always told you she’d be proud of you and your baking. You’d always blush and look away. He nodded, remembering he was going to need to use his words if he was going to hope to have the nerves to tell you that he was in love with you.
“Sure.” He says, moving to your kitchen. You follow him and pull the recipe up on your container as you both pull the ingredients out of their designated areas. The two of you spend so much time together that he knows his way around the kitchen like it’s the one at the Academy and the two of have baking together down to a science. You turn to music on, having made a playlist specifically for the dance parties that would happen while you’d wait for your pastry or dessert to cook. As the cookies bake in the oven, he watches with a smile as you dance around the kitchen, using the wooden spoon as a microphone. He isn’t planning it but-
“I’m in love with you.” Your eyes widen as you slowly come to a stop. The music still playing in the background feels unnatural given what was just said and you must agree because you slowly reach over to the computer, pausing it. You reach back and look at him, eyes still wide in what he thinks is shock. He’s starting to panic now, as you just stand there, mouth open. “It- it’s okay if you don’t feel the same way.” God dammit, this is why he didn’t hope for things anymore. Damn his siblings for letting him think you might feel the same way. “It doesn’t have to change anything. I understand. I just wanted you to know.” He says, quietly. “I’m sorry, I’ll go.” He turns to leave, feeling defeated. Fate is a cruel temptress, he’s officially decided.
“Luther- Luther wait.” You say, arm shooting out to grab his. You pull him back around to face you and he turns to see you unusually close to him. “Sorry, sorry, I panicked and froze.” You’re tumbling through your words, trying to spit them out, hardly breathing between them. He grows concerned at your state and he thinks you’re still worried about him feeling bad.
“Seriously, (Y/N), it’s fine-” You cut him off.
“No, no it’s not.” His heart sinks, but only for a minute because suddenly you’re talking again. “I’m in love with you too Luther. I have been for a while. I just never thought you’d feel the same way and I-” Your words stop as you look up to see you two are quite close together and all he wants to do is lean down and-
“Can I kiss you?” The words slip out before he can stop them but he’s not going to take them back. Not this time. You nod, and close the gap between the two of you. It’s short and sweet, just like you. The oven beeps, unfortunately, interrupting the moment.
“Oh, shit.” You mumble. “I love you Luther, but if I burn these cookies, I’m gonna be pissed.” He chuckles, loving how casually that word slips out of your mouth. He lets go of your waist, where his hands had been resting. You pull the cookies out of the oven and standing back from them, looking down at them proudly. He walks over to you and pulls you close to his chest and you sigh contentedly. “I could hold you like this forever.” He says, fingers running through your hair. You hum, wrapping your arms around him under his coat.
“I wouldn't mind it if you did.” You respond softly. Luther looks down at you, pressing a kiss to the top of your head. He finally got the girl.

The Board Game {Peter x reader}
Tumblr media
Requested by @itzme1762
You and Peter were playing a fun board game that consisted of sets of cards with truth questions and challenges. If you accomplished one of the challenges, you would receive points. everyone was out on a a mission today so you and Peter had been having a blast playing this game. you both had answered and received a lot of interesting and fun questions and challenges,
“Okay, my turn.” You giggled, picking up a random card. Both questions and challenges were mixed up in a pile. “This one’s a truth. When was the last time you were extremely embarrassed?’ You chuckled as you read the card. Peter quickly started to blush, making you laugh and you urged him to go on.
“uhh, well... ugh, i can’t believe I’m exposing myself right now.” He grumbled. “i uhh, might have walked in on Ms. Romanoff using the bathroom last week.” Peter whispered, getting redder by the second. You gasped before bursting into loud laughter. “I didn’t see anything though, I swear!”
‘‘ Oh my gohohod! I feel so bad for you!” You giggled, making Peter glare at you playfully before sighing.
‘‘Whatever. I hope I pick a good card this time so I can laugh at you.” He pointed at you with a smirk, grabbing a a card hoping it’s something he can get you back with, His smirk grew wider by the second as he read the card out loud while your eyes widened the same way. “Here’s a challenge that’ll get your opponent laughing! Tickle your opponent for 10 minutes without them tapping out. Here’s the catch though: if the opponent taps out before the 10 minutes, you lose the points, but they owe you $10.” He glanced up at you to see your eyes practically poking out of their sockets and chuckled. “well, well, well. How the turn tables...” He smirked.
As nervous as you were, you had to laugh at his reference. “W-Wait though. We could just skip that card.’’ You tried. Peter turned his head lightly, purposely entertaining the distraction.
‘‘And why would we want to do that?’‘ He smirked. You huffed before sitting up a bit more from your place on the floor.
‘Because... you know why!” you whined, making Peter laugh and scoot closer to you.
“Actually, I don’t. Care to explain?’‘ He teased, making you get more and more nervous as he scooted closer to you, You sucked your teeth and scooted away from him, causing him to laugh.
“Peter stop!” You whined, starting a small chase while sitting down. You let out nervous giggles and occasional squeals when he got too close to you.
‘Stop what? I’m not even doing anything!” He laughed, scooting over to you once again. ‘Yet...”
At those words, you instantly made to get up, but Peter just had to predict that and grabbed your arm, pulling you back down and onto his lap. “nohohoho!” You squealed and fought to get out of his grip but the attempts were futile.
‘Y/n, stop resisting. We have to follow what the card says. And don’t forget that if you tap out, you owe me ten bucks.” He grinned evily before digging into your sensitive sides.
You squealed before falling into loud belly laughter, especially when he began to migrate his hands toward the middle of your belly, digging in to make sure it tickled the most. The sadist. “Stahahahap Peheheheter! this ihihisn’t fahahair!” You giggled as you slid down off his lap and onto the floor, giving Peter the opportunity to straddle you.
“What do you mean, y/n/n? I’m only doing what the card asked me to!” He said, feigning innocence and latching his finger onto your ribs, expertly digging in all the sensitive places, driving you crazy. You pressed your arms down to your sides even though it wasn’t helping. “Although, I do think this serves you well for making fun of me earlier. Don’t you think?” He asked, a teasing smirk on his features. You shook your head, unable to form words as his fingers squeezed and prodded at your hipbones. With a loud squeal, you arched your back and started to slap at his hands. “Y/N! That wasn’t very nice! You need to be punished for your rude behavior. One raspberry.” He nodded before lifting up your shirt, ignoring your protests and feeble attempts to roll away, and bent down to blow an abnormally ticklish raspberry right above your belly button.
You were sure that all of New York heard your shrill scream. With a laugh, Peter lifted his head and looked at his watch. “That’s 5 minutes. 5 more to go!” He chuckled, sticking his hands up your armpits, making you cackle and shake your head.
‘IHIHI DOHON’T WANNA PLAHAHAY ANYMOHOHOHORE!” You whined, childishly, Peter bursting out into laughter without pausing his antics.
“Are you sure you wanna tap out? AND OWE ME $10?” He asked, an eyebrow raised teasingly. You let out a groan between your laughter. You wanted Peter to stop more than anything, he was driving you crazy! But you didn’t wanna have to give him 10 bucks just for a board game. It was just 5 more minutes. You could endure that, right?
“UGHHH. Nohoho I don’t wahahahanna owe youhuhu.” You groaned. Peter’s smile grew if that was even possible and he bent down to blow raspbrries all around your neck, sending you into hysterics. No matter which way you would shield yourself, he’d always find another spot to torture. And it always tickled worse than the last.
Your laughter was becoming silent after many attacks to your ribs and belly, feeling yourself get weaker as he playfully bit at your sides, the feeling almost unbearable. You gathered the strength you had left and flipped yourself over and tried to crawl away but squealed when you felt Peter’s hands on your waist, dragging you back. “Where do you think you’re goin’?’’ He teased, straddling you again and squeezing up and down your thighs, resulting in you throwing your head back and let out your loud belly laughter again, kicking out as must as you could.
“IHIHIHIT’S BEEN FIHIHIVE MINUHUHUTES!” You whined, trying your best to grab his hands to get them away from your thighs. You actually couldn’t tell if the time had passed, but it sure felt like 5 hours. To your relief, Peter sat up with a chuckle, finally giving you a break. You quickly crawled away from him, just in case he thought of starting back up again. This made Peter laugh.
“I’m nohohot gonna tickle you anymore. The time is up. Even though you still never apologized for making fun of me earlier.” He teased as he gave you a pointed look. You giggled and apologized quickly to ensure your safety and only then scooted back over to him.
“Should we finish the game?” He asked. You thought before halfheartedly chuckling.
“I don’t wanna put myself out there to be tortured again. Let’s just leave it at that.” You smiled, laughing along with Peter who shook his head.
“Suit yourself. Let’s pack it up.” He smiled, the both of you getting up to pack up the game and after you finished, you and Peter decided to put some brownies in the oven while you played against each other in Mario Kart. A few hours later, the team had arrived safely to the compound and in no time, you were all huddled in the living room, listening to the experiences the team had on their mission.

Pioneering Women in Motorsport
When people think about motorsport or Formula 1, many may conjure up an image of affluent young men, living in Monaco and spending every other day on their yacht. This still might be true for the majority of drivers on the grid, but I am here to say that the motorsport industry is slowly creeping into the twenty-first century. Until now, the only women allowed in a Formula 1 paddock have been the glamorous wives and girlfriends of the drivers, sporting Manolo Blahniks and amusingly over-sized sunglasses. Finally, women are being given equal opportunities to drive alongside their male counterparts.
Formula 1
Since its conception in 1950, there have been 767 different Formula 1 drivers. Just two of these drivers have been women. Even the most devout Formula 1 fans might be surprised to hear this. Their names, unsurprisingly, are not well known, but not any less note-worthy. Maria Teresa de Filippis competed in three grand prix between 1958 and 1959. Lella Lombardi is slightly more well known, having taken part in a grand total of twelve races from 1974-1976. Not only did Lombardi participate in these events, she is also the only woman to score points in a championship race. Well, that’s only partly true – she scored half a point after the 1975 Spanish Grand Prix was abridged after an accident.
It is, however, worth mentioning that several female drivers have participated in test sessions for Formula 1 teams in more recent history. This means that although they did not compete in the Grand Prix, these women were in the paddock alongside men, and had the opportunity to drive the same car on track during ‘practice sessions’. These sessions provide the teams with vital information about how the car will perform during the race. Susie Wolff (neé Stoddart), married to Mercedes AMG Formula 1 Team Principal Toto Wolff, has led the way for women in the sport in recent years. At the 2014 British Grand Prix, Wolff became the first woman to take part in a Formula 1 race weekend in 22 years as a test driver for Williams Racing. As well as having their race driver, Formula 1 teams employ ‘test’ or ‘reserve’ drivers who are involved in the development and testing of the car. These drivers not only take the place of the race driver if they fall ill, but also gain valuable experience of driving a Formula 1 car, which will eventually put them in line for a promotion to the race seat.
In 2016, after retiring from motorsport a year previously, Wolff founded her ‘Dare to be Different’ initiative to make the sport more accessible to women and girls. This foundation later joined forces with the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA), the governing body of motorsport, and created ‘Girls on Track’. Wolff commented that Formula 1 is not just about female drivers: ‘there are only 20 drivers, but there are nearly 4,000 people involved in making that event happen, from engineers to mechanics to journalists to physiotherapists - there are so many opportunities.’ There is now a wider recognition that Formula 1 needs to become more inclusive and diverse. In June 2020, seven-time World Champion Lewis Hamilton set up The Hamilton Commission ‘to improve the representation of Black people in UK motorsport.’
However, there has been one powerful woman in the paddock for many years now: Claire Williams. As the daughter of Formula 1 legend Sir Frank Williams, she was Deputy Team Principal of Williams Racing from 2013-2020, essentially holding responsibility for the day-to-day running of the team. Notably, Claire Williams made history as the only female Team Principal in Formula 1. Despite this fact, Williams claims to have ‘seen a big shift - a seismic shift - in the nunerbs of women coming in and the attitudes surrounding women in the sport.’ It was Claire Williams herself who signed Susie Wolff to the Williams team, but this landmark decision was met with scepticism. At the time, some considered it a publicity stunt, but Williams argues that this is ‘looking at it from a very narrow-sighted angle.’ The world of Formula 1 can be extremely perilous and drivers, despite modern technology and safety measures, still put themselves at risk by getting in the cockpit of the car. Williams’ response, therefore, is that ‘motorsport is a dangerous sport and you don’t take risks with people like that just for a marketing ploy.’ Williams and Wolff remain close friends, despite both now having retired from the sport.
Women’s Series
In 2019, the W, or Women’s, Series celebrated its inaugural season. According to its website, ‘W Series is a ground-breaking racing championship for women’. It is also explicitly stated that they ‘firmly believe that women and men can race one another on equal terms provided they are given the same opportunity’. Therefore, the championship was created to give female drivers the relevant experience and qualifications to put them in contention for a seat in a Formula 1 car.
It has been estimated that it costs around €8 million to manage a young driver from the start of their career, most likely within karting, to the pinnacle of the sport, Formula 1. Crucially, drivers in the W Series do not have to pay to race. One of the core goals of the series is to increase visibility of the sport and female drivers. In the UK, the W Series’s races were broadcast to over 340 million households on major terrestrial channels.
In 2019 Williams Formula 1 team signed Jamie Chadwick as their development driver, having seen her success within the British Formula 3 series. Chadwick went on to be crowned champion of the inaugural W Series in August of the same year. In her Williams Academy interview, Jamie Chadwick commented that ‘men and women should be racing against each other’, clearly outlining her hopes for the future of motorsport.
Extreme E Series
In 2021, another series of motorsport appears on the horizon. Thenew series brings ‘electric racing to some of the most remote corners of the planet to highlight the climate change challenges faced by different ecosystems.’ Within the rules of the new stream of the sport, Extreme E teams will have to employ one female and one male driver, hoping to promote gender equality and stay in-tune with the current climate. Among these female drivers is Jamie Chadwick, who will be racing for British Veloce Racing alongside Frenchman Stéphane Sarrazin. In an interview with BBC Sport, Chadwick expressed her excitement to take part in the series, ‘it’s the same for everyone, one hundred percent fair.’
Whilst women now have more access to the male-dominated sport, the motorsport industry has a long way to go before equality is met. Essentially, although a lot is being done to give women the same opportunities in the sport, there’s a lot more left to be done. Having a female Formula 1 World Champion, however, is certainly not as far fetched as it once was.
Lily Squires is currently reading Modern Languages at University College London, UK, graduating in July 2021. After which, Squires is hoping to join the world of journalism, promoting social and political change with her writing.

F1 Young Driver Programmes - do they do more harm than good?
F1 young driver programmes are so big nowadays, often holding so much more talent than could actually fit on the grid.
In my opinion these driver programmes are actually quite damaging to the sport.
Of the 2020 grid 17/20 came from some sort of young driver programme, the three that didn’t were; Kimi Raikkonen, Valtteri Bottas and Nicholas Latifi, so obviously they are incredibly helpful with getting talent to the grid.
Without these driver programmes we likely wouldn’t have Lewis Hamilton, Esteban Ocon, Kevin Magnussen as they wouldn’t have been able to afford to continue racing without them
Obviously they are helpful for many reasons
Younger drivers get experience in better machinery, i.e. they get to test F1 cars, get to use the F1 simulator and the other factory facilities
The driver programmes help when it comes to negotiations for seats, helping their drivers to get the best seat available
They are also massively beneficial for drivers who maybe don’t have the financial backing to compete without having tonnes of sponsors. Its rumoured to cost approximately 7 million pounds minimum from karting to F1
They develop the drivers making sure they get the adequate experience and training both in a racing sense and in a media/marketing sense
Its a support system for young drivers - this is vital as its easy to forget how young some of these guys are, and the fact that many of them have to move away from home
Its a way to get fresh talent into the sport, avoiding the pay driver route
You can’t dispute that these are all good reasons for keeping driver programmes however there are negatives
It creates a talent bottleneck - in 2020 Ferrari created a massive talent bottleneck in its academy by having 5 of its drivers in the same category when both of their F1 seats were full, this basically ensured that none of these talented aspiring drivers would be making it to Ferrari anytime soon and for a lot of them not even F1
It makes the drivers reliant on the driver programme, often times the programmes will pay a chunk towards the cost of your seat (like a sponsor would) meaning that the driver needs fewer sponsors, however if the driver is then dropped they then have to go and find their own sponsorships to cover that, plus any sponsorships that might have come through the programme
It makes driver programmes appear to be the end goal in junior formulae, like once you’ve signed with a junior programme you are destined a seat in F1, which just raises peoples expectations
It reduces the opportunities for the drivers, if there is a seat available at a team - the team is more likely to look for a free agent, rather than a driver from a competitors academy
It doesn’t stop the pay driver issue, there has been cases of people paying to be part of a driver academy which does take the spot away from young talent.
It puts an awful lot of pressure on these young drivers as they are expected to achieve so much.
It ties these young drivers into massive contracts with the team that prevent them from looking elsewhere, which take a lot of time and money to get out of. Examples - Kevin Magnussen had to take a year out from F1 after he was dropped from the Mclaren driver programme to sort out money and contracts before he could look elsewhere. It took Ocon a year to get a seat after he was dropped by Force India as he was Mercedes affiliated and ended up losing his Mercedes Junior Driver link. Carlos Sainz jr was only relinquished from his red bull contract after being dropped by Renault as there was no longer any seats for him. Red Bull in particular can still call up their dropped junior drivers due to a clause in their contract (Kvyat, Hartley, Albon were all ex red bull junior drivers when they were called up and their reserve driver Sette-Camara is also an ex junior)
I don’t think driver programmes should be eradicated but they definitely need to be reworked. There’s currently too many politics in there and often times it limits the seats they can go to. In a best case scenario teams would be able to run a third car to train up their juniors.
They work well for the top teams who have a “spare” seat in a lower team or have a sister team but once you get down to the midfield and backmarker teams they don’t work as they don’t have space for the drivers to develop and there's too much riding on putting a rookie straight into the seat.
Statistics
Of the 19 former FDA members (4 of whom are from their E-Sports team) 4 made it to F1 (plus Lance Stroll but he ended his contract with Ferrari before signing for Williams), and only 1 to Ferrari (so far)
Mercedes have managed to get all 3 of their juniors (who are of age) into F1 but none into the Mercedes team as of yet
4 of McLaren’s 17 junior drivers have made it into the McLaren F1 team
Red Bull may have had 7 drivers make Toro Rosso/Alpha Tauri and 8 make it to Red Bull but they have 58 drivers that didn’t make it to F1 and so many of these drivers were dropped after only a year and this dropping had a detrimental effect on their career
Renault supported 7 drivers to F1 between the Renault, Lotus and Caterham teams but they had 45 drivers that didn’t - the most recent being Romain Grosjean
The Sauber Junior Team is still very young and none of its members have made it to F1
The Williams Junior team has had one of its members make it to F1 out of four
Ferrari Drivers Academy: 26% chance of F1, 7% chance of Ferrari
Mercedes Junior Team: 100% chance of F1, 0% chance of Mercedes
McLaren Young Driver Programme: 24% of McLaren F1
Red Bull Junior Team: 20.5% chance of Alpha Tauri/Toro Rosso, 11% chance of Red Bull
Renault Sport Academy: 13.5% chance of F1
Williams Driver Academy: 25% chance of F1

LEXINGTON, Ohio (AP) — Salvador de Alba Jr. wants to be the next Sergio Perez, Pato O'Ward or Daniel Suarez, a Mexican race car driver who advances to a major international series.
His journey started this week at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course, where de Alba tested an Indy Lights car for Andretti Autosport. He had never before been in an Indy car and estimated he ran "at least 6,000 laps" around the 2.258-mile road course online on iRacing to prepare.
Just driving the Lights car for Andretti would have been enough to call his trip to Ohio a success. But de Alba had a fully immersive experience that went beyond his wildest dreams. The 21-year-old got tips ahead of the test from fellow Mexican driver O'Ward, watched his first live IndyCar race and then traveled to Indianapolis to visit the Andretti shop and take a private tour of Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
"It was better than going to Disney," de Alba told the Associated Press. "Everything was new for me, it was my first experience with an IndyCar race weekend. It was 'Wow' for me to meet all the drivers. Then to race that cool of a car, visit a shop and see Indianapolis Motor Speedway — I think I had a very complete experience."
De Alba was accompanied by his father and Michel Jourdain Jr., who raced nine seasons in CART and won a pair of races and finished third in the 2003 series standings. Jourdain has twice raced in the Indianapolis 500, dabbled in NASCAR's Xfinity and Truck Series, and is still active today in Mexico in the Super Copa Championship.
Jourdain won the Super Copa title last season but for 2021 aligned with Michael Andretti to form Andretti Jourdain Autosport for that series. Jourdain is determined to help young Mexican drivers advance, an initiative backed by Andretti, and after racing against de Alba the past five years he highlighted the second-generation racer from Guadalajara as a budding prospect.
De Alba is the current points leader in both NASCAR Peak Mexico and Super Copa, two series that use full-bodied cars. He holds a five point advantage ahead of three-time NASCAR Mexico series champion Ruben Garcia, who has three career Xfinity Series starts, headed into this weekend's race in Puebla.
"One of the main goals of the Andretti Jourdain partnership is to bring young Mexican and Latin drivers into the IndyCar world," Jourdain told the AP. "That includes crew members and finding ways to expand racing talent outside of Mexico."
The Mexican market is hot right now with Perez in his first season driving for Red Bull in Formula One, 22-year-old O'Ward in the thick of IndyCar's championship race and Suarez a key building block of Trackhouse Racing in NASCAR. Justin Marks, owner of Trackhouse, has partnered with entertainer Pitbull on the team and along with Suarez is building a program designed to tap into the lucrative U.S. Latin market.
Perez and Suarez both have financial backing from Mexican companies and now de Alba wants to capitalize on the moment his fellow countrymen are enjoying: Canelo Alvarez is the unified super middleweight world champion, Brandon Moreno is the first Mexican to win a UFC championship, Karina Rodriguez is the first Mexican to win an Invicta MMA title and Andrea Meza was crowned 2021 Miss Universe in May.
"I feel very proud to be part of the group that is getting recognized," O'Ward said recently. "I think it's been great that we've seen very different athletes doing really well in their certain sport, whether it is UFC, boxing, Checo in Formula One, me in IndyCar, the lady that won the Miss Universe, it's really cool."
De Alba already has some backing from three companies that helped him get his test with Andretti. He has returned to Mexico to talk with primary backers Grupo Indi, Mecano and Sidral AGA/Red Cola about his next moves.
He said he wants to join the Road to Indy system, the feeder program that Andretti heavily invests in to develop future IndyCar drivers. It will take financial backing from his own sponsors for de Alba to make it to the U.S., but Jourdain believes the success of Perez, O'Ward and Suarez have reignited an interest in Mexican racers.
The last Mexican driver to win an IndyCar race was Adrian Fernandez at California in 2004.
"It's a lot cheaper to race in Mexico and you have very, very good drivers and I think if you are competitive in Mexico, I believe you can be competitive in the U.S.," Jourdain said. "It is a good moment for Mexico and there are opportunities right now for Mexican companies to support young talents internationally."
After six days immersed in IndyCar, de Alba is certain he wants to find his way into a U.S.-based series. He sometimes sees Perez at local karting tracks and the F1 star is always willing to help young racers, and he knows both O'Ward and Suarez.
His time was so fulfilling, de Alba's mother complained he wasn't calling home with updates.
"I was like 'Hey, Mom, I have lots of things to process and when I come back I will tell you everything,'" de Alba said. "It was a dream, and it gives me all the motivation to come back and do more, to do more tests, run races and race here in the United States."

February 7, 2021
This is Part two of the introduction of Nijisanji. I have written for an audience who has just gotten to know vtubers through hololive and wants to explore more. This part cover all of Nijisanji members who has debuted in the year 2019.
2019 Part 1 (Jan-Apr)
Warabeda Meiji - Another eleven year old, but likes FF14 and K-On! So frequently described as an 11 year old third season. But she is genuinely cute! And a really good singer, so much so that her K-On cover gets banned for being too close!
Gundou Mirei - Actually a teacher, but definitely a ditzy and lazy one, that is incredibly sexual to an uncomfortable degree, you know, a fan favorite, including of mine. Watch her 3D streams and you will be amazed. Has a ship with Shoichi as mentioned before, even though she’s a self-professed bisexual. It’s odd but, you know, it works!
Yuzuki Roa - Kind of innocent devil like Towa, but more like a kid than an older sister. Really like Belmond. Was friends with Chitose, a retired member, and got a costume based on her a bit, and maybe is retiring herself, considering she hasn't uploaded for quite a few months now. Well, whatever. She’s cute and innocent.
Onomachi Haruka - Another of the rare, truly seiso people in the team, but can go wild if the vibe goes that way. Lost and found a llama in minecraft once.
Seto Miyako - Kind of a quiet girl who might be psychopathic... you know the type. Her true tendencies pop up during gaming. Also tweets a lot... make sense.
Kataribe Tsumugu - Basically retired, but her concept was so shocking that it took Naruse Naru’s return of old design to push her into the bottom of the list.
Otogibara Era - She’s a Cinderella if she has gone completely out the window. People routinely separate the original Cinderella side as Era, and her true side as Gibara.
God, how do I describe her. Gibara is just great. Her adult comments are something to behold, let’s say she gels with Tamaki very well. She returns to monke often, and does other types of screams too... seriously look at her gacha stream and witness Gibara in her full glory. Also incredibly lazy and definitely cannot live by herself.
But as you have guessed it, she is an incredible singer. (It might be the case that incredible singing is associated with madness) Had knockout hit with her 3D stream, trending number one on twitter and 30,000 US dollars in superchats!
Lize Helesta - Queen of Shizuoka, I mean Heleste kingdom. Usually behaves like an empress, but as with most royalty has a real competitive spirit, so she knows how to badmouth when she needs to. So, she’s a really stingy person as well... not really fitting for a royalty, but you do know some people that act like that.
She’s a strange person. Look at asphalt or a handstand in order to sleep. Friends with Ange, who was a childhood friend, even with an age difference. Also does radio stuff with Lulu as well. Reveres Mito, wonder why. Again, incredible 3D debut.
Ange Katrina - Nice low-middle voice with a smooth upper body, and surprisingly small but that got fixed as 3D started. Think she’s cute, but blushes when people agree. Just a cool gal who I enjoy very much... her streams, I mean.
Inui Toko - She’s a cerberus, and now works at a cafe. A little bit out there, but definitely a tsukkomi. Usually does little gaming outside Minecraft, so mostly talks and sings. A unique laugh and loves Ensemble Stars. Hangs out with red and blue people, like Lize, Ange, Roa, Ayame, Suisei and so on. Actually is boing boing, Ange felt betrayed.
And as mentioned above, a great singer, and can play many instruments as well!
Saegusa Akina - High tension singer, who is quite sickly and is terrible with girls. But he got better as time went on and the ship with his gen mate Manami started to sail. Actually he hangs around with many girls... maybe it’s just Manami?
Arizona Manami - Ito Life’s daughter... so you know what she looks like. Calls herself the queen of sensitivity, and yes she does very suggestive streams... but she’s pretty innocent and childish... so she’s kind of like Melody in a way. Has a very fond-looking relationship with Akina as mentioned above.
Suzuhara Lulu - Just your typical art student. She’s a rich girl, so she knows very little about the outside world. Definitely has stamina of a thousand horses, famously played 11 hours of Dark Souls, then straight onto 10 hours of Ring Fit, and never got phased. Seriously, she never gets phased. She rode the freaking snake without a problem! Apparently really beautiful in real life, really has large expressions.
There’s a rumor going around that she’s actually some kind of an eldritch god... and I don’t know where that comes from at all. Look at her, she’s such a sweet gal, look at her dancing and singing... she’s a true idol, that’s what she is... (don’t hurt me.)
Yukishiro Mahiro - First-year high-schooler. Good variety of content. Her personality is of a rude kouhai. One viewer described her as a bad-tempered chihuahua. Really likes Kanae, which is okay, I guess. There’s not much more than that.
2019 Part 2 (May-Aug)
Ex Albio - A hero from a different world. Originally portrayed as a rude snarky figure, much like Kazuma without charm or luck but with perseverance. Got his fame through his noob Minecraft experience, as with Minecraft servers, they are ripe with collab opportunities, so he started to collab especially with Ars Almal, which he thinks as a mentor... and so they both talk in high register. Eventually became a couple.
Has a thing where he questions something and immediately denies it, which is quite funny. Eventually got a dark alter version due to the imagination tournament I talked about earlier, which brings the fact that he can’t fight until tragedy occurs.
Levi Elipha - Actually only six years old, and apparently dense, like physically dense. Great singer and good physique, does some English songs as well.
Nui Sociere - A 25-year old witch, but more like a NEET with an addiction to horse racing. Very much like Megumi in terms of magic abilities, but capable of melee.
Kind of sounds like Doraemon when she screams... usually plays JRPG... and well, just look at her. Damn... well, least you have something to look forward to.
Hayama Marin - Hayame is Hayame. She’s just a little kid with a pure mind. Yeah.
Hayato Kagami - CEO of a toy company, so called that. Polite and diligent, but like a CEO of a toy company, completely becomes a boy when getting a bit excited.
Actually is a great singer, maybe a trained singer as well. As a good example of rich getting richer, fans have a tendency to throw red superchat, a typical stream might hit 10K USD, even though there’s nothing particular going on.
Yorumi Rena - Idol magician, but no actual proof of her magic abilities. Plays APEX a lot. Very much an outgoing person with lots of collab from everyone. Hakase calls her mama. Sleep promptly at midnight, except when ARK was involved.
Also makes 8-bit art proficiently, does all her loading screen. A bit of a lewd mind.
Hakase Fuyuki - HIgh school girl who likes to experiment, but it’s obvious none of it ever works. Tries to ship Yorumi and Kagami, and calls him papa. Just absolutely in her own world and everyone is just privy to it... also incredibly bad at gaming.
Mayuzumi Kai - A white hacker. Very cool, but has a thing for comedy, almost to the level of Joe Riikichi, but laughs very little himself. Make sense, since he lost his parents at an early age and lived in the system, therefore is a night streamer. Very good with kids as a result, and very kind and polite as well.
Ars Almal - A mage who specializes in lightning. Started out by apologizing, gets bullied for her round face, usually by Shiina. Cute voice with toxic words with a knack for pranks and taunts. Actually is quite boing boing. Good at Minecraft construction, but get rough and dirty under the wheel, as in Mario Kart. Became a kitsune, and then immediately got compared to Fubuki... much like Fubuki in a sense.
Aiba Uiha - Another idol who is a bit out there, has a tendency to be clingy. Also has a large physique... kind of a denatured Lulu is what I’m getting at. Sisters with Ara Chae, incredibly bad eyesight, apparently. I can see that, actually.
Eli Conifer - A flower fairy and maid with a unique phrasing. Likes to immerse herself in games, very knowledgeable, especially with teas, and also handy at housework, and superb at drawing and singing. Ryushen and Rion think she’s a badass, and they might not be entirely wrong on that aspect, actually.
Kokoro Amaiya - Dragonborn, I think. But there’s no dragon anymore. Has that mumble-speak that people really don’t like. She’s very much kid-like in a sense, uh, so get put into the loli category much like her fellow peer. Incredibly weak.
Ratna Petit - Adventurer with an independent streak. Does games and ASMR, tries to be grown up during collabs, but retreats into a kid in solo streams. Got the infamous random deletion of the account that Kiara famously got.
Nijisanji ID Gen 1
Taka Radjiman - Another CEO, this time a food CEO. Usually streams games, but much like other CEOs here, a pretty good singer as well. Obviously a good cook as well.
ZEA Cornelia - She’s an automata. ZEA is short for Z-type Executive Automation. Likes to sing, and sung many songs including La Vien en Rose by IZONE! I really like her, her streams are bit odd and ZEA can carry a stream like no another.
Hana Macchia - A design student, much like Lulu. Likes drawing as you expect, also like gaming as well. Does some barista stuff as well, a kind of the ambassador of Nijisanji ID, since her father is American and her mother is Japanese, and she lives in Indonesia.
Papa Macchia appears on stream from time to time, and apparently was the progenitor of Hana’s gaming prestige as he played Doom and Half-Life. She’s on the cute side of things, but blushes when she gets called that. Also cries in horror, but screams in excitement... just overall a well-rounded in strangeness. I really like her.
2019 Part 3 (Sep-Dec)
Sukoya Kana - Incredibly smart, but also has an otaku and perverted side. Likes acting, as you might have guessed and bad at housework. Has a quiet voice, but gets savage when a game is involved. Pretty good at english as well. Does a radio show as well.
Oh, yeah, likes to throw up. It’s a thing. Also plays drums. She’s pretty cool.
Shellin Burgundy - Before Kanata did her PPT intro, Shellin was the first one. Professes himself to be a detective, but little lightheaded for that. Good narration voice, though, which means he’s a good singer as well. I kind of like him. He’s good.
Hayase Sou - An outdoorsy girl who likes cosplay and road biking. Kind of talks like she’s middle age, but she acts pretty young. And of course she likes shotas.
Fumi - It took over a year for her to debut. She’s a hikikomori gundam otaku and a goddess. A bit airheaded and pretty bad at gaming, and since she is 67, gets called grandma infrequently. She’s fun to watch. Has a ship with Nagao.
Hoshikawa Sara - Half Japanese and half English. Definitely a cool and tough, ready to take whatever sex jokes and insults you throw at her. Hangs out with Mahiro a lot, or with male members like Yumeoi, Ebio, Shellion or Kanda. Has a wide voice range, with a wide personality as well. There’s a sense of healing to her, honestly.
Obviously gets fangirled by many, including Matsuri, whose frequently red superchats her much to her confusion and relative embarrassment.
Yamagami Karuta - She’s a tengou in training, since she is filled with desires, mostly to connect with people. This is real, apparently. Has a ship with a staff member...
Matsukai Mao - Smartest devil... no, she’s an airhead like the rest of them. Apparently she can spit out crude oil... which is pretty useless. Definitely an unlucky, miserable person who needs to be protected at all times, and she relishes that like the devil she is.
Hangs around with Luis a lot in real life, apparently. Also plays APEX and stuff.
Emma August - Demon Lord that was thrown in an uprising, living with Morinaka Kazaki, and got a new house in February of last year. An alcoholic and a masochist, who gets berated by Kazaki of all people. Definitely not a loli, that’s for sure.
Luis Cammy - An expert thief, which excites Shellin very much. Seen as the leader of the gen, but found out to be much of a kid as the gen mates, especially around Shellin. They are a couple now, apparently. Oh yeah, she did an Outlast stream with a cat outfit and invited Shellin because she was scared? Now there's a loli version of her... yikes.
Fuwa Minato - A host, but a teetotaler, because of health problems... yet drinks Monster energy like it’s no business. A bit out there, as Nijisanji people are. A bit of a trickster, a bad boy if you will... right there with being good at games as well. He’s pretty cool.
Shirayuki Tomoe - When I first saw her, she felt like one of those people in mahjong tournaments. Well, she’s a queen of the night, so night-time streamer, although she has daytime streams as well. Strong drinker. Talks about SM, but also effortlessly friendly and a lovely person. I think she’s attractive, but I can see why people call her cute. She hates bugs, loves cute things, odd thoughts... feels like an aunt to me.
Very bad at reading kanji, not that she’s good at anything else. Likes to practice, hence preserved her way in the Mario Kart tournament. Does talk and ASMR streams with a third of her viewers being women. Likes Mirei, makes sense. Oh, she’s a nudist.
And don’t forget the relationship between Kana and her. Purported to be the most real of the ships of any vtubers. I believe it’s called Crossick. I don’t know too much.
Gwelu Os Gar - Presenter for the elf kingdom, hired as a presenter, since Nijisanji got so big and there’s only so many Kakeru around. Unfortunately seen as boring, and transitioned into kind of a Maimoto character.
Already married, I don’t know why that’s significant but there you go. Oh, and an actual dad! That is pretty significant. Although Setsuna also has a child, and had to retire to take care of the little baby. Teaches math to others, so that’s cool.
Mashiro - Recent high school graduate. He’s a boy. Yes, he has heels and boobs, but he’s a boy. And yes, he is a bit out there, stealing candies from the office.
Naraka - Another oni, and a loli-baba. Obviously a fan of the fellow oni, Mikoto... which has a queen kid relationship. And yes, her chest is smaller than Mashiro... sad.
Kurusu Natsume - 19-year old college student who likes music and sheep. Very smart and very normal. Has an ASMR test stream, which was pretty fun.
Nijisanji ID 2nd Gen
Rai Galliel - An interdimensional policeman. Likes cheese, but hate porridge due to only eating one for four months. Likes baking, pretty cool personality, if a bit straight edge.
Amicia Michella - A freelance illustrator, so the drawing is superb. Like sleep but also sports. Also penguins. Likes to play horror games pretty calmly. Raises two dogs, well one of them passed away late last year. Sang a 10cm cover?
Miyu Ottavia - A business student, and likes otters and is optimistic. Mostly plays RPG and online multiplayers. Tries to be cool, but look at her! She’s very cute.
Riksa Dhirendra - A 24-year-old freelancer and works as an editor and translator. Looks mean, but is actually a very decent gut. He is pretty competitive. Plays RPG.

And the Favorite is...- USWNT Imagine.
Tumblr media
I got this ask:  Hey I read your fic with R being Krashlyn's kid and it was pretty good. Can you do another one? Where R always shows up in someone's insta story like dancing with Sonnet, scaring someone with Kelly, going out for breakfast with Press or playing some kind of games with Tobin? Like how she interacts with her crazy and overprotective aunts. And I ran with it. I hope you like it, dear anon!
You can find the first part here.
I am totally biased, I hope you don’t mind.
The Olympics inauguration is only a couple of days away. It’s the time when nerves grow before disappearing at the ceremony, but your time is filled with so much activity that you don’t even have time to be nervous.
Your team is great and practice is always fun although you can’t wait for the first game. The excitement grows, the pressure builds, and you’re actually ready for your first Olympics.
In order to keep you distracted, your parents have found a thousand games for you to try. Your family isn’t exactly conventional, and those games are far from being board ones. You have to experience a new city in the company of the USWNT while getting information, playing pranks or doing certain things with them to win the game.
You don’t mind it one bit. You love all your crazy aunts. Hanging out with them is a fun way to discover the magic of a new country. They don’t keep you from getting lost. They just get lost with you. Thank God technology is a thing and the GPS has saved your life.
“Here’s another one!” Ash exclaims. “Who gives the best hugs?”
Currently, you’re sitting in bed between your parents while they livestream. Their fans are happy to see how you interact with them, and they don’t miss the chance to ask you stuff about them and the Krashlyn adventures in Tokyo.
“Ma,” you say pointing at Ali. “Her hugs are warm and soft. But mom’s are great too; rib-wrecking and yet can’t say no to them.”
A chuckle escapes your lips when both of them hug you at the same time. Ash kinda proves your point; making you grunt when she squeezes a little too tight. The smile never leaves your lips; much less when they decide to kiss your cheeks at the same time.
It’s embarrassing, but you do nothing to stop them.
Finally, they settle down and you shake your head in amusement.
They’re supposed to be the parents.
“Oh! I gotta go,” you announce mostly to the camera. “Pinoe must be waiting for me. Please, don’t embarrass yourselves or me more than you’ve done.”
“Can’t promise that, kiddo.“
Maybe it would be easier to leave if your parents didn’t cling to you like koalas while remind you to take care and call them if you need anything. You struggle for another minute before they finally relent. Then, they go back to their livestream while you put on your shoes.
“Here’s another one!” You hear Ash through the door, but don’t stay long enough to discover what is the next question.
Pinoe is waiting for you, and you find her with ease thanks to the pink hair.
Sonny and the others like to tease her about it, but you like her style. Not everyone can rock it like she does, but you’re gonna try to challenge the odds with a crazy hair color as well. Not pink, but probably just as outstanding. Blue, purple, orange, silver...you haven’t decided yet.
However, this day is all about make-overs, courtesy of Megan Rapinoe.
“Sorry I’m late,” you say when you make it to her side,
“I thought those two would keep you forever.”
She shows you her phone where you can see your parents throwing their teammates’ names around to answer God knows what question. You don’t have enough time to figure it out before Pinoe puts her phone in her pocket and offers you a pair of shades.
People assume she isn’t the most affectionate person; usually more compossed than the rest of the USWNT, but that’s not the case. Maybe she’s not as open with physical displays, but she expresses herself in other ways. Spending time around the city always means she spoils you like crazy. And no, that’s not the reason you love spending time with her.
Ash loves her for a reason, and you can see exactly why.
Being around Pinoe means not thinking about the Olympics for a bit, even when you can’t understand a single neon sign around you.  It’s all about fashion in ways other than clothes. Your hair ends up in a crazy color that looks amazing on you. It won’t be that visible under the helmet while you play, but you feel empowered by it.
Then, Pinoe gets you the perfect clears for your first game in a couple of days. You can’t wait to show them off, so both of you take a picture in front of the mirror in true Pinoe style.
A few hours later, when you’re back on your room, the pic comes up on your Instagram with a simple comment: #FavoriteAunt.
It makes you chuckle, but you like the post anyway.

“Y/n, Y/n! Come here. Hurry!”
You comply without thinking when Kelley motions for you to hide next to a trash can. She’s already recording, and that can only mean one thing.
“Who’s our victim?”
She’s about to prank someone and you’re always up for it. Mischief is clear on your eyes when you look at her behind the camera.
“Allie is about to come up.”
Of course. It had to be Allie of all people.
You’ve scared her over a hundred times, but it’s always fun to make her jump. Thinking about it, camp wouldn’t be the same without Kelley scaring the ever-loving socks off Allie Long, or any other poor soul she has as a target.
“You want to do it?” She asks although she knows the answer already.
“Hell yeah!”
“Language, kid!” She admonishes just for the show while beaming at you.
It takes barely ten seconds for Allie to walk down the corridor. She’s focused on her phone; giving you the perfect opportunity to strike.
You wait just for another second; letting her get closer before jumping and screaming as loud as you can. She screams back at you in total panic; her phone almost thrown at your face in a defensive reflex. It’s a good thing you have her a new phone case that actually protects her phone or it would be down for the count by now.
Kelley is laughing like crazy behind you, and so are you.
That doesn’t stop you from retrieving the launched phone, handing it over to Allie and pressing a kiss to her cheek.
“Love you,” you say smugly.
“You’re lucky I love you too or I would get you back for this,” she answers while pulling you in for a hug. “Now you, O’Hara, are a different story.”
“You don’t love me?” She asks Allie with that big mocking grin. “I’m the favorite aunt!”
“No, you’re not.” The blonde argues. “I’m the favorite.”
Kelley is still recording, and you’re sure she won’t be able to post all of that at once.
But you don’t know what started the whole favorite aunt debate and by now, you’re afraid to ask. So, while they’re still arguing over it, you make a silent escape.
However, when you see the whole thing posted all over social media later, you can’t help but like it and post a heart emoji directed at both of them. They don’t ask about it directly, so you don’t give an answer either.
The fans are going crazy when the entire soccer National Team jumps into the conversation. Everyone wants to know your answer, but you like to see them fight over that. It’s never too serious, so there’s no shame in enjoying the show.
You don’t make further comments, and all they can do is settle for the night.
It’s a good thing because you have a game to win the next day.
***
Your first victory is exhilarating, but your celebration is quite reserved. You’re on there to win just a game, and although it’s a great feeling to do so, you’re aiming for the gold.
Your nerves were gone as soon as you stepped up to the plate for your first at-bat. Your parents were right about it, and having the entire USWNT cheering for you brought the best out of the entire softball team. The greatest team is there for you; the next generation of golden athletes, and you’re ready to play the part.
After celebrating with ice cold Gatorade, you hang out on your parents’ room.
Playing Smash Bros on your switch with some of your teammates seems like the perfect way to unwind. After a few rounds, you opt to play Mario Kart instead, and you know exactly who would love to join the party.
Tobin calls you after accepting the invite. It’s not that she has a lot to say but because you love hearing her ramble and fight the game when things don’t go her way.
You send a blue shell after her and laugh when she groans in defeat. You don’t have to be in the same room to have a great time with Tobin. She’s amazing.
“You want to have dinner with Chris and me?”
“You getting me ice cream?”
“Fried ice cream if you hurry up.”
“On my way!”
You’d feel bad about ditching your parents, but they have plans with the rest of the team. They’d love it if you’d join them, but there’s no guarantee to make it back before curfew if you go with them. So, after letting them know you’re joining Press and Tobes for dinner, you’re on your merry way.
Dinner is spectacular and Christen smiles the entire time.
It’s not a surprise that the entire world is in love with her. She lets you try from her plate and shares your excitement over dessert while Tobin snaps a thousand pictures of the moment. It’s the perfect way to end the day; with an extra selfie where the three of you smile at the camera.
That’s the picture you post to thank them for an amazing night.
***
The Olympics advance and you try to follow as many events as you can while still being focused on your discipline.
It seems like forever before the USWNT faces their first match.
Your coach gives you permission to go to the match, and the world is ready to see if you’re wearing the jersey of your favorite aunt. You’re not sure why there’s so much expectation considering your parents are also part of the team. In your mind, wearing one of their jerseys is the way to go. And you make your way into the stands wearing the Krieger one.
You wear Ash’s number with your team, and well...you’re Harris too. So, you decided to switch for once. Watching Ali beam makes you happy, and you cheer them on with all your heart. The shouting never stops until your throat is sore and they come on top with their first victory. The atmosphere in the stadium is crazy, and you love every second of it.
It’s hard to tell what happened after that, but you make it to the Olympic Village on JJ’s arms. She’s stronger than anyone could imagine, and it’s shocking when she throws you over to A.D. as if you weighed nothing.
Speaking of strong women…
Every few feet you are in the arms of someone different until you make your way to Naeher. You can see the hint of a smirk on her lips and that makes you smile.
“Thanks for the save,” you say. “Pun totally intended. You were amazing out there.”
A nod is your answer before someone is calling for your attention.
“So,” Mal starts and you know the question before it leaves her lips. “Who’s the favorite aunt?”
“Not you, sorry.” You reply playfully while sticking your tongue out to her. “You’re too young, Rose and T. are the same. You’re more like my cousins.”
Everyone thinks of you as the kids even if you’re not an official part of the team. You’re okay with that, even when they’re overprotective most of the time.
“How did this whole thing start?”
“Livestream,” all of them reply at the same time.
The roll of your eyes is a given. Of course a fan question caused havoc among the USWNT. This has been fun, but they can keep going for ages, and it’s time to stop.
“If it started like that, then maybe it should end with another livestream.”
A deep silence settles over the entire team, and you realize that your inner thoughts were said out loud. It’s too late to backtrack because Kelley, Pinoe and Ash exchange a look before storming out.
“Mom, wait!” You call after Ash, but they’re already gone. “Oh no.”
Alyssa puts you down in case you want to follow them. There’s no real point. You won’t be able to convince them of not doing the livestream right at that moment. Instead, you allow Sonny to guide you through the corridors until you make it to your room.
To no one’s surprise, they already have half the things ready.
With a huff, you take your place in the middle of your bed while every single aunt takes a place wherever they can. Sam ends up on the floor next to Rose. Ali pats your shoulder and takes a seat in the other bed so you can deal with this madness.
Once everyone is seated, Kelley starts the broadcast with: “You know what we’re here for.”
“First of all,” you interrupt before she can say more. “I don’t know who you are, or where are you from, but for the person asking that, you have no idea of the utter chaos you provoked.”
With a glare to the camera, you return your attention to Kelley who only laughs at your words. She’s so damn crazy, and that’s one of the many reasons you love her.
“Come on, Y/n! You’re killing us.” Pinoe says from the corner. “Who’s the favorite aunt?”
“And the favorite aunt is...”
You pause for dramatic effect while you scan the room trying to find her. Then, the moment prolongs because you can’t find her between all the familiar faces.
“Wait, where is she?”
Everyone turns; counting heads and thinking about who is missing. Confusion grows until the door opens and the missing piece enters with a sheepish smile.
“Sorry, I’m late.”
“I knew it!” Kelley exclaims with a triumphant air fistbump.
“Of course you did. I told you before,” Alex says in the most nonchalant tone she can muster. “Y/n said it at her birthday party, remember? You got there late because your plane was delayed, but everyone else was there.”
“I thought it was just because she got you cake!” Sonny exclaims.
“The cake was just a bonus.”
“Why are you late anyway?” JJ asks Alex while the blonde holds you and refuses to let anyone else close to you.
“Well, I went for a blue one.”
“Swap?” You asks excitedly and Alex nods.
You can’t move when JJ holds you so tightly, but that’s okay. Alex takes the empty space between your legs while she puts her jersey over you. Blue is the kit you like the most, and Alex made sure to sign it for you.
In all honesty, you love them all.
They’re your family, weird as they are.
