I headcanon that Mattholomule wanted to join the Illusions track when he was younger but he got talked out of it by his parents, insisting that the construction track would be better for him (A La Willow). That’s why he insists that illusions are useless but then Gus helps him learn after they find the graveyard.

I want them to be canon so badly.

Oooh I like this one because Gus' Dad would NOT be down for Gus dating a known troublemaker who gets into fights with other people.

Matt however tries his VERY BEST to appease Perry, comes around to the Porter residence almost everyday offering to assist him with things and what not.

Eventually Perry warms up to him but keeps a close eye on the boy

Steve on the other hand is super happy his lil brother found himself a partner and is super nice to Gus, takes him as his own
