Studio Bad Egg went on a livestream yesterday to talk about their Cipher Cult Kickstarter, and shared concept art for some of the major items

Someone else who had seen the concept art for the Bill and Ford pin earlier described it as “likely to cause ship fuel” and

They weren’t fucking kidding

(This is the final design, which I still love! It was chosen to be more cohesive/consistent with the design of another pin)

Stupid rant about how ppl talk about Stanford and stuff- kinda like- how the Return To the Bunker wrote him and how that's how alot of ppl see him.

The amount of folks that think "Ford should've just trusted Stanley and Mabel! And everyone else!" Is like- sad.

Fords a victim of abuse and manipulation, and considering how him and Stan grew up, I wouldn't be surprised if Filbrick Pines contributed to both the twins childhood being shitty.

Ford, growing up, was always bullied and teased because of his six fingers, Stan (by accident) ruined Fords chance at becoming 'something' and not just a freak who had six fingers.

and IMO I think Ford had every right to be pissed when Stan said, "But hey! Treasure hunting??" Just completely dismissing Fords feelings.

Yes this was all caused by miscommunication which does happen, and it sucks that they had such a big fallout, Ford shouldn't have ignored his brother, but he was angry.

Now in the future wise, Ford most likely trusted Dipper more because he reminded him of himself when he was young.

But anyways, Ford was manipulated for fucking years by Bill, he trusted Bill and thought of him as a friend (untill ofc he realized what Bill's true intentions were) Bill than used Fords body WITHOUT his permission to do shit/mess with him, Ford was scared to fucking sleep. SLEEP.

Heck, Bill changed some words that Ford would use to something else.

Stan didn't mean to shove him into the portal but he did, Ford was mad that the portal was reopened bc of the threat of bill hanging around (Also in Journal three its said that he was about to kill Bill, which is why he was also pissed.)

Uhhhh, I kinda lost my train of thought, but Fords is not a bad guy. Has he made a lot of mistakes? Yes, but people change, heck one fucking line he says in weridmaggdion is-

"I'm sorry, Stanley, I know, just help me fix it, please!"

Like he knew he fucked up, and bro was also tortured.

the way you people project onto ford is ABSOLUTELY INSANE!! and the way you use that blatant projection to piss on others who do the same is also crazy.

ford wasn't a good person pre-portal. while yes, characters like bill are way worse, ford doesnt get absolved of his failings just because bill tricked him. ford is /incredibly/ self obsessed, and through his journal entries you can see just how self-absorbed he is. he doesn't care about how his actions could benefit others (its why he's so against his journal being published) instead he only cares about the glory HE could derive from his actions. he waxes poetic about "not wanting to be another tesla" and the book explicitly compares ford to icarus. fidd's actually goes out of his way to PLEAD WITH HIM to stop the portal, because fidd's now knows it's dangerous and warns him, but stanford is so blinded by his own self-importance he ignores fiddleford until reality slaps him in the face and shows him how wrong he is.

speaking of manipulation, ford manipulates and lies to fiddleford CONSTANTLY. ford lies about where he got the idea for the project, he lies about who he's working with, ignores fiddleford if fidds doesn't comply with his wants, and is constantly paranoid about fidds 'true intentions' (lol) .

STOP woobifying ford, stop pretending ford is some innocent guy. its quite frankly disconcerning to see how many of you guys claim he's ur fav or whatever but dont like the flaws that make him a compelling narrator. i LIKE ford as a slightly immoral person who grows and changes, whose willing to do ANYTHING for what he wants even if it isn't the best move, a 'smart-guy' who uses questionable tactics because part of him does believe it's the best thing to do.

ALL THIS BEING SAID, characterize ur ford however you want. you want to make him more of a victim? go for it!! you want to project onto him? feel free!! just dont pretend like ur characterization is completely correct without facts to back it up. and dont shit on peoples ships (srsly u guys r getting mega petty nowadays) because fiddauthor or billford or whatever isnt particularly healthy either!!

the roommate and I were discussing why Ford doesn't have long hair at any point given he lived in the woods for years and was hyperfocusing so much he stopped caring about grooming and then was an interdimensional wanderer for decades

I think there is a v obvious explanation

I myself am a scientist and I keep my hair short for convenience sake. not worrying about tying my hair back was so convenient when I did lab work all the time.

and yes, I subscribe to the "Ford doesn't give a shit about lab safety" train BUT how annoying is it to have your hair fall in your face when you're doing something? even if Ford won't keep his hair short to cut out a step in being safe in the lab, he would def keep it short just to keep it out of his face and out of his way.

again, from experience, field work is so frustrating with hair even slightly long. I mean the WIND for one thing. science is just so much easier when you have short hair. like, across the board.

Ford doesn't get haircuts tho

Stranger Avatar Stan Thoughts

It starts with his first new identity, not long after he was kicked out. He… enjoyed being someone else. He was no longer Stanley Pines, high school dropout, moron who ruined his genius brother's science fair project, the useless kid, the spare. Now he's Stan Pinington, a man who has just barely started existing, who is old enough to hold a proper job, who has never fucked up so badly he got kicked out, who is confident and smart and is going to make millions.

It doesn't turn out like that, of course. He gets fired from his new job after a week, barely earns enough to pay for food and gas. He keeps going, keeps trying, because at least this was better than being Stanley. Eventually he broke one too many laws and was forced to leave Jersey, but that's okay because now he was Leland Oakley, a new face with new opportunities.

And on and on, he became person after person after person. Never caught, never recognized when he didn't want to be.

Then came the day he had to become Stanford Pines. He's not sure how anyone actually believed he was his brother, the hands alone were a dead giveaway, not to mention the sudden lack of nerdiness. But still, he settled into his new role, molded it to fit him better, and eventually "Stanford Pines, the reclusive scientist" became "Stan Pines, the owner of the Murder Hut (later renamed the Mystery Shack)".

Stan doesn't even know he's an avatar. He's not a full one, never actually crossed the boundary between human and Not, still stuck between them. There was usually enough fear around to keep him from getting hungry, and the way that he could go weeks without eating if he had to was something he wasn't about to question. The only time he got seriously hungry was after Ford fell through the portal and he spent weeks (it was months, he survived for MONTHS on what little half-rotten food Ford had in his house) before he was so hungry he was forced to go into town.

He felt so much better, once he gave that first tour. He tells himself it's because now he has money, and money always makes him feel better. The townsfolk won't make eye contact with him, but something keeps a few of them coming back.

The Mystery Shack is the way he feeds himself, although he isn't aware of it. That mild fear of the tourists is enough, and at the height of tourist season he doesn't even have to sleep, he can work all night and feel fresh and ready to go in the morning. The off-season is another story, he'll fall asleep and wake up days later, telling himself he just forgot to mark the calendar.

(He knows there's something very, very wrong with him. But if it helps him get his brother back sooner, he will embrace that wrongness completely.)

He never closes down his wax museum. See, rather than them just being cursed wax figures, a few months after he stole them they stopped being constrained by their curse and started being animate all the time. And THEY were aware that Stan was nearly an avatar, and they enjoyed hanging out in his house, so they put in the effort to scare the shit out of people to feed him. Like paying rent. When the wax museum stopped pulling in money they got moved to the main area instead of locked up.

That, plus he can supplement his diet with human food.

Occasionally though, when all of that isn't enough, he'll feel… odd. He'll lead tourists through rooms he doesn't remember having and the tourists' expressions will change from that gullible interest he's so used to into fear, then terror, but they just follow him until the end of the tour and then leave immediately without buying anything. (They watch, as the old man acting as their tour guide looks less and less human, leads them past hanging, empty skin and people who aren't people, leads them past puppets and mannequins and people they Do Not Recognize, and the moment they're outside again they flee in terror and never even set foot in Oregon again.)

Then came the day he was finally, finally able to bring his brother back…. His brother, who barely recognized him, who treated him like a stranger when he first saw him, who seemed wary and on guard and kept protectively placing himself between Stan and the kids.

Very quick thing of Liam in my universe

Liam had that egyptian eye, that's why egyptians have that eye everywhere (Bill missed Liam dang IT).. While Liam should've been killed as a babe, that didn't happen.. I don't know the reason yet, but I am leaning towards a discrepancy in papers, thus leading to the higher ups not realizing he was a defect. And by the time they did, he was fully grown and also super helpful.

This was an exceedingly smart triangle, so they looked over the defects cause killing him would be a waste.

Till, Bill and some others started revolting.

If you saw the comic I made, then you know Liam was killed.. Executed. That was a consequence of the revolt.. The circles thought by killing someone close to the main issue, he would stop.. That didn't happen.

Also I think both Liam and Bill were pyramids even in Flatland, thus the bricks.. The blue is for other reasons, I haven't gotten to explaining yet..

But Liam and Celeste did know each other.. Liam actually helped Celeste get over some of their lack of confidence, and self appreciation (they internalized a lot from the circles).

Liam was also the only person to know of Celeste and Bill relationship, and that they were soulbonded on top of it too!!!

Liam was the older brother of Bill Cipher as well, and if I had to say personality wise, was Chaotic Neutral.. They reeled it in around most other though, alot like Celeste and Bill do..

Also also I GOT A SHIP NAME FOR BILL AND CELESTE

New Episode of Children's Cartoon 'Quantum Soar' Draws Ire From Severance Procedure Advocates

Hosted on HBO-Extra-Super-Max, the children's adventure series is an innocuous children's adventure serial about two twins, Dable and Mipper, as they they stay with their enigmatic great aunt over winter holidays and explore the supernatural mysterious her town offers.

But it found itself in hot water this week after its latest episode, Mirror Magic Mayhem, featured what some are calling "an obvious and slanderous attack" on the medical procedure known as severance, which is gaining increasing presence in companies across the country.

In the episode, the character Mipper used a magic mirror to make an identical copy of herself. The cloned Mipper was then instructed to do all the chores in the house while the 'original' Mipper spent the day playing video games...
