hello, could you do prompt 118 with João Félix. I had an idea that it might be like they were fighting over a match. Thanksssss ❤️
Another Loss~João Félix
Tumblr media
I literally waited for the champions league match to write this cuz I knew Chelsea would lose 💀
anyways keep sending in your requests <3
you can request from my prompt list
this is my master list
players/drivers I write for
118-"fucking hell, shut your mouth." "make me."
y/n's shoulders slumped as João was subbed off. It was the champions league first leg against Real Madrid and they were already a goal ahead.
João was stressing out all week, training more for this match. He knew how important this match was for Chelsea. Especially since they haven't won any of their last matches in the premier league.
João was frustrated when he was subbed off. It was obvious that he was the only player trying to score. y/n took mental notes to make him feel better after the match. Whenever he had a bad match, she'd make him his favorite dish with some ice cream afterwards.
The match ended with 2-0 to Real Madrid. It was hard for Chelsea to come back, but y/n knew the boys would try their best to win the second leg.
y/n walked from her seat towards the lockers. The Real Madrid locker rooms had a lot of shouting and cheering. She let out a sigh and waited outside Chelsea's lockers.
Players started to slowly walk out, one by one. y/n still wasn't close with any of his teammates, except for Kai. As Kai walked out, he spotted y/n and walked to her.
She smiled sympathetically at him, giving him a small hug.
"how are you doing?" she asked, rubbing his shoulder softly.
He shrugged letting out a sigh before giving her a small sigh
"could've been better, but what can I say, they were too strong" he said, while she nodded at him.
She gave him one last hug, before he walked away and João walked out of the locker room
"hey amor" she said, smiling at him as he walked closer to her
He gave her a small smile, that was obviously fake, before starting to walk away. She realized that he was in a bad mood, and ran to catch up with him
The car ride home was tense. The tension was felt by y/n. She knew if João didn't say anything they were definitely gonna fight, and she didn't want that. So she decided to give him some time alone.
As soon as y/n parked her car in their parking lot, João got out of the car and slammed the door behind him. y/n let out a sigh and got out of the car too, following João into their apartment.
João dumped his training bag at the entrance of the house, and walked into the living room.
y/n went to the kitchen and started preparing João's favorite food. She left him alone, hoping that he would calm down a bit.
After about two hours of making food, y/n went to the living room, and saw João sat on the couch on his phone, with a blank look on his face
"hey J. I made you some food" she said softly, sitting down next to him.
"I'm not hungry" he said grumpily, not looking up from his phone.
"come on João. you didn't eat anything before the match, and you played more than 60 minutes. you should eat something" she insisted making him roll his eyes
"I said I'm not hungry. leave me alone" he raised his voice a bit making her also roll his eyes
She snatched the phone out of his hands and put it behind her back. His eyes snapped into hers, filled with rage and anger
"give me my phone" he said through gritted teeth, not wanting to lash out on her
"No! I know you didn't have a good match. And I know you didn't want to be subbed off when you were the only player giving effort, but that doesn't mean you get to release your anger on m-" she was interrupted by his voice
"fucking hell, shut your mouth." he snapped
"make me." she snapped back, making his eyes snap into hers
He shook his head and turned away.
Her eyes softened while she moved closer to him. She put her hand in his hair, scratching his scalp slightly
"I'm sorry amor. I just want you to talk to me when you're having a bad day, or after you have a bad match" she said softly, her voice sweet as it always was
He look up at her and cracked a small smile
"And I'm sorry minha vida. I shouldn't have snapped on you. Its just so frustrating how no one seemed to care about the match. I mean I know we don't stand a chance against Real Madrid, but trying won't hurt. I have been in the team for almost 4 months and I seem to care more than people who have been there all their life. I'm just so confused" he let out a sigh, laying his head on her shoulder
"its okay sweetheart. it'll get better soon I promise. you're still young and have all your life ahead. Maybe Chelsea isn't where you're going to stay for a long time. Or maybe the team is only passing through a rough time now and will be back soon. Just know that I'm proud of whatever you do. Whether you lose or win, I'm always proud. I love you João. don't forget that" she said, turning his head so he was looking at her
He smiled softly, leaning in to kiss her. When they pulled away, he laid his forehead on hers
"I love you more baby. Thank you for being there"

Revelations - Chapter 5: Video Store Attack
Teen Wolf x SPN AU crossover
Word Count: 2495
The Smith family just wanted normal, yet the new semester is bringing a new student, secrets in the woods, and secrets even in their own home?
Revelations Masterlist | Masterlist
(This chapter mentions blood)
Tumblr media
“I’m just finishing up my history homework, then I’ll be over. Are you still stopping to pick up a movie?” Isaac’s voice crackled a bit through the cell phone Stevie held against her ear with her shoulder.
“Yeah. I’m just pulling into the video store now. If you make it before I do, Mick should be home to let you in.” Stevie parked her car in the nearly empty lot making sure to be under the light so she could see clearly in the darkening night.
“I’ll see you soon.” Isaac sounded like he was smiling as they ended their phone call.
Stevie walked past a black Volkswagen beetle waving to Lydia Martin who was sitting inside. Ignoring the light rain that was falling. The first thing she noticed when entering the store was the phone ringing. She rolled her eyes and walked through trying to find the movie she wanted to grab. She passed Jackson as he looked around irritated.
“What got your panties in a twist?” She asked with a slight smirk.
Jackson rolled his eyes at her. “Lydia wants to watch the Notebook again.” He complains looking around, “And I can’t find anyone to get help.”
The teen girl rolled her eyes and gestures with a nod of her head in the direction he needs to go. “It’s this way.” She reluctantly walked by his side towards the back of the store where the movie would be.
Jackson stopped grabbing the girl’s arm to make her stop too. His eyes locked on.. Shoes? Feet? Stevie nearly scoffed when Jackson told her to, “Stay behind me.” She literally stayed right behind him as he slowly approached the black tennis shoes. The closer the got the more they could see. Blue jeans. When the two turned the corner they could now see the video store employee dead against the shelf. His throat slashed, blood running over his chest. His eyes still open.
Stevie gasped, one hand covering her mouth the other latching onto Jackson’s arm. Jackson backed up quickly, accidentally causing the two teenagers to knock into the metal ladder. The ladder clattered to the ground followed by the light fixture above to fall. Sparks and smoke were quickly followed by the whole store going dark before the lights began to strobe on and off.
“J-Jackson, we need to leave.” Stevie stuttered as thoughts of the alpha quickly invaded her mind. The teen in front of her was breathing more heavily but he nodded, pulling her closer. They began to turn towards the door when a guttural growl made them freeze. There no more than 3 rows away was a pitch black wolf with shining red eyes, the same shine as the yellow and blue Stevie had seen on the other two werewolves she knew.
Jackson ducked behind a row of movies pulling Stevie with him. He leaned out slightly to see where it went but quickly ducked back around when it darted past with yet another snarl. The sound of movies falling off a shelf behind them became like dominos as a few from a higher shelf fell onto the two hiding teens. Jackson once again peaked out just in time to see the movie shelf at the end be pushed over.  One fell into another and a chain reaction began. Jackson shoved Stevie out from between the shelves they were hiding before he attempted to follow but wasn’t fast enough, his legs getting pinned.
Stevie raised a hand to her head. She managed to hit it on the shelving across the aisle and it was now bleeding. She quickly looked over at the other teen hearing the alpha. “Don’t move.” She whimpered softly, her eyes blurring but she couldn’t tell if it was from hitting her head or tears clouding her vision. She sat shaking in fear as the hand-claw reached for the back of Jackson’s neck. It almost appeared to be looking at something. Then suddenly the alpha turned and ran out. Making his own exit by smashing through the window.
Stevie could faintly hear Lydia scream from outside. She hurried over to Jackson trying to help him up. “Somebody help!” She yelled, her own scream making her head throb. “Stevie?” She made out Jackson’s worried question as her body swayed on its own and she collapsed off her knees onto the floor in front of Jackson.

“Unit 1. We have a report of a possible 187.”
Stiles, who was sitting in the passenger seat of his father’s squad car having dinner, mouth stuffed with fries, turns to his dad with wide eyes. “A mu’der?” The teen questioned fries falling from his mouth as he talked.
The sheriff wrapped his half eaten burger up and handed it to his son for him to eat later. After asking the location he turned on his lights and siren to hurry to the site. The car pulled into the parking lot of the video store. A fire department ambulance was already on sight, the back doors open. As Sheriff Stilinski parked Stiles got a good look at the three teens at the back of the ambulance; Jackson, Lydia and Stevie– wait Stevie?
“Stay here.” Noah told his son before getting out of the car.
Stiles wanted to object, he wanted to comfort the girl who was sitting next to Lydia Martin, staring at the black top pavement as if it could swallow her whole. Instead he huffed and sat back, should he text Mick and tell him?
“Paul, let's get this area locked up.” The sheriff instructed.
Stiles looked over locking eyes with Lydia. Jackson was avidly talking to one of the paramedics as he pointed towards Stevie. Sheriff Stilinski walked over towards the three teenagers.
“Why the hell can’t I just go home?” Jackson questioned turning towards the sheriff. His question made Stevie lift her head squinting at the light from the ambulance. “I’m fine.”
“I hear ya, but the EMT says you hit your head pretty hard, they just want to make sure you don’t have a concussion.” The sheriff calmly explained, focused on Jackson but he did glance over at his son’s best friend.
“What part of ‘I’m fine’ are you having a problem grasping? Okay, I wanna go home. My head wasn’t bleeding like hers.” Jackson gestured to Stevie and the sheriff took in the stitching and bandage the girl had near her temple.
“I understand that.”
“No, you don’t understand, which kind of blows my mind since it should be a pretty basic concept to grasp for a minimum-wage rent-a-cop like you!” Jackson rants.
Stiles began to get out of the squad car the same time Stevie stood up. She swayed a bit but she grabbed Jackson’s arm and pulled him out of the sheriff’s face. Jackson pulled his arm roughly out of her grasp as he yelled, “Okay, now I wanna go home!” The yell got Stevie to wince, a sign that she had a concussion.
“Whoa, is that a dead body.” Stiles points out getting attention off Jackson and his father from the crowd that was beginning to form. He watched as Stevie took a step back, her shoulders slouching inward, her hand reaching to cover her scarred shoulder. Noah turned to his son with an unimpressed look which made him retreat back into the car. “Alright everyone, back up.”
Out of sight above the video shop stood Derek Hale and a crouched Scott McCall. Scott’s eyes were locked on Stevie, her body curling in on itself. She could have been the victim tonight if she was there only minutes earlier.
🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾
For the Smiths to get a knock on the door early in the morning was rare. So when the three solid raps echoed from the front door the Smith twins got quiet, well quieter seeing as Stevie hadn’t said anything since she got home besides apologizing to Isaac and asking to reschedule. Mick peaked out the window to see who it could possibly be knocking on the door. A grin broke out on his face as he quickly flung the door open. “Uncle Sammy!”
Sam, Dean’s brother, grinned and held his arms out to hug his nephew. The man who stood as tall as a moose smiled and entered the house. “Where’s your sister?” He asked, stepping into the house. His duffle bag fell to the floor with a loud thunk. He was known as an avid book reader so they always assumed that he carried books with him.
“Mick, Stevie. You two are going to be late.” Dean says walking down the stairs.
“Does she have to go?” Mick’s question was a near whisper so his sister wouldn’t hear. His eyes followed her as she grabbed her things for the day.
“She’s the one who wants to go Mick.” Dean tells him.
Dean was the one to get the frantic call from James. James had heard about it over the radio and quickly told Dean who then was called by Derek about the same thing. Needless to say if Noah nearly gave Dean a ticket when the black impala skid to a stop next to the ambulance. Yet the frantic father, looking over his daughter was all it took for the sheriff to let the man slide for the evening. Stevie never left Dean’s arms that night, she felt safest in them and honestly Dean didn’t want to let her go either. So when she woke up to go to school he was hesitant. She still wasn’t really talking but maybe getting to school and seeing her friends would help.
Dean would have been right though. As Mick drove himself and his sister to school all she had on her mind was talking to Scott. Just Scott. Yet as the sit in class with Mr. Harris going on about parent teacher conferences. Stevie sat on her stool, her leg nervously bouncing as she looked around wondering where the hell Scott was. Stiles wasn’t even paying attention himself, too busy highlighting notes to work on.
“Has anyone seen Scott McCall?” Mr. Harris asked, looking right at the three teens that were always with Scott, specifically Stiles and Mick.
The door clicked open and closed. Attention moved to Jackson who looked like he hadn’t gotten any sleep. Stevie looked at him and they just had a moment of understanding. In fact Jackson sat next to her, Mick having sat next to Stiles today (plus it was closer to Erica but he wouldn’t mention that). The science teacher leaned down his hand resting on Jackson’s back. “If either of you need to leave early for any reason, you let me know.”
Jackson simply nods while Stevie wrote down on a blank page of her note book.
How’s your leg?
She slid the notebook over as Mr. Harris spoke, “Everyone, start reading chapter nine.. Mr. Stilinski, try putting the highlighter down between paragraphs. It’s chemistry, not a coloring book.”
‘Fine, how's your head?’ Jackson wrote back before opening his chemistry book. He looked over at Stevie who wobbled her open hand back and forth as a ‘so-so’.
Stiles spit the cap of his highlighter out of his mouth and caught it. He turned to Mick. “Has she said anything to you about what happened?” Mick shook his head with a frown. Stiles watched as Jackson and Stevie wordlessly wrote notes back and forth before leaning forward.
“Hey Danny. Can I ask you a question?” Stiles asked in a whisper.
“No.”
“Well, I’m going to anyway. Um, did Lydia show up in your homeroom today?”
Danny sighed, sitting up slightly straighter. “No.”
“Can I ask you another question?” Stiles leaned forward more.
“Answer’s still no.” Danny glanced over his shoulder at the boy questioning him.
“Does anyone know what happened to her, Jackson, and Stevie last night?”
Danny looked back down at his notes. “He wouldn’t.. Tell me.”
“But he’s your best friend?”
“Yeah and Stevie is yours, guess we both don’t know.” Danny responded with a shrug effectively ending the conversation, or so he thought.
“One last question, do you find me attractive?” Stiles leans so far forward anticipating a response that his stool tipped and he fell over. The noise of the stool tipping drew his classmates attention, including Stevie who raised an eyebrow but no one said anything.
🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾-🐾
Dean sat with his two kids. Teacher after teacher he would hear the praise of Stevie and the criticism towards Mick goofing off with Stiles and Scott. Occasionally Stevie would be mentioned in being a help to focus the boys but overall Dean knew what he was going to be hearing when he entered the school. Dean exited the school, his twins following, Mick with his arm slung over his sister. Mick joking about how much trouble he thinks Scott would be in for not being there as they spot his mom on the phone. Dean turned towards his son and the boy stopped, turning his head to hid a laugh in his sister’s hair.
“Wait by the car.” Dean instructs the kids. The twins made their way over to the black impala. Dean himself walked over towards the sheriff. The two males were talking, Dean inquiring about the incident since his daughter just finally started to talk more during dinner towards her uncle.
The twins were leaning against the car talking quietly about Mick’s crush on Erica, which actually warped into him wondering how Lydia was doing since she wasn’t in school. A female scream pierced through the air. People began to scatter in the parking lot trying to get into cars and get away. The crowd even pushed the twins away from their father’s car. More people screamed and Dean quickly looked for his kids. His hand reached back where he would normally be able to reach his gun but it was locked inside of a safe in his car.
A growl was now heard in the parking lot. Mick and Stevie made their way back towards their father away from the animalistic noise. Cars rushed to try getting out of the parking lot.
“Stay here.” Dean told the kids. He rushed to the car to retrieve his hand gun from the lockbox safe inside. As he moved back he spotted a silver Chevy back into the sheriff knocking him over. Dean moved to him and helped him up. The sheriff pulled his own gun out of his ankle holster. Two shots fired but neither came from Dean or Sheriff Stilinski’s gun. Allison’s father was the one to shoot the attacking Mountain Lion. Dean put his gun back into the holster along his back before rushing over to check on his daughter who was clinging to her brother for dear life her shoulder ached with a phantom pain from her own animal attack. He pulled his kids into his arms. His eyes locked on the Argent standing looking over the animal he had shot.

Mondays. You hated ‘em.
Everything just seemed so...amplified. The peace and relaxation of the weekend was over and everyone had to go back on the grind. The traffic always seemed worst, the clock seemed to tick backwards and you just wanted to be at home, in bed. After an incident involving the dog, a toaster and a small pan fire, you were already running twenty minutes late and you knew in your soul that your child’s shoes weren’t on the right feet. That, and also he was wearing a Chewbacca onesie to school. It had been a compromise. As in, he was refusing to go to school unless you let him wear the damn thing. It was a compromise. You’d lost.
On the bright side, the past weekend had been the best you’d had in a long time. Jack had spent all of Saturday afternoon at the Heroics headquarters and he was so worn out, he’d slept through all of Sunday. Marcus Moreno must have a been a fucking wizard, because you’d been trying to tire the kid out for five years. You made a mental note to do something in return, though you sensed there was nothing on God’s green earth that could possibly amount to babysitting the world’s most exhausting child for six hours. You were allowed to say that, because Jack was your world’s most exhausting child and you wouldn’t have changed him for anything.
‘New week, huh buddy?’ You glanced at Jack in your rear view mirror. He was sat on his booster seat, legs dangling back and forth and a power ranger action figure in his hand. ‘A fresh start.’
‘Can we listen to the song from Cars?’ Jack ignored your comment.
‘You gotta try and behave yourself this week. You’ve seen what happens to people who do follow the rules, right? They get to go work at the Heroics-’
‘- I wanna listen to the song from Cars!’
You wanted to have a deep conversation. Jack wanted to listen to Life Is A Highway. That was...actually, it was exactly how you’d expected that to go. It wasn’t that off of the time you were trying to explain your divorce to him and he’d interrupted you to demand that you put Toy Story on.
‘Sure thing, kid.’ You rolled your eyes, reaching across to hand him on your phone. ‘D’you know how to spell it-’
Your sentence was cut off by the sound of guitars blaring from the speakers. At least he could work out Spotify.
By some miracle, you managed to make it the school with a few minutes to spare. Because most people had dropped their kids off earlier (see: on time), the lot was pretty empty. That meant you could once again dump your car without regard for the painted white lines -- who had time to park properly on a Monday morning? That was for people who had their shit together.
Leaping out the car, you almost cursed when you tripped over your heels. You didn’t have to wear them, but since you’d started working in a managerial role at your office, you figured it made you look a little more professional. And what was the harm in being a few inches taller? It made you feel powerful.
‘C’mon, J.’ You pulled open the back door, helping Jack leap out the car.
‘You know, I’m starting to think you can’t park your car at all.’
‘Marcus!’ Jack practically flew out the car, his tiny body suddenly jolting with excitement.
‘Morning, buddy.’ He replied; he then moved his brown eyes to gaze at you, offering a smile. ‘Hey.’
‘Hey, how you doing?’ You greeted him. ‘I don’t normally see you here in the mornings.’
‘Yeah, I normally drop Missy off at the front but it was one of those mornings, you know? She was taking a little more convincing than usual to go in.’
‘My kid is in a Wookiee onesie and backwards Thomas the Tank Engine shoes and you have the audacity to ask me if I know those mornings? I am those mornings.’ You replied.
Marcus chuckled. ‘I think it’s a look. I especially like the Lightning McQueen sunglasses.’
‘Do you have a super suit?’ Jack asked. ‘Can I try it on?’
‘C’mon, Jack. You’ve already managed to get a tour of the HQ.’ You ruffled his hair. ‘And we gotta get going to school.’
‘But I wanna ask more questions.’ He muttered. ‘I have over a hundred.’
‘Don’t I know it.’ You murmured under your breath. ‘But school is more important.’
‘I don’t wanna go anymore.’
‘I let you wear the onesie. That was our agreement, remember?’
‘All good superheroes have to get an education.’ Marcus reasoned. ‘And if you go in, maybe I can show you my suit at some point?’
'Okay!’ Jack grinned. He wrapped his arms around your waist in a quick hug, before peering up at you with a toothy smile. ‘See ya later!’
He turned on his heel and ripped his backpack from your hand, suddenly speeding up the path and towards school. Had...had that just happened? For once in your life, had you not had to wrench him from the car and wrestle him through the school gates? Move aside, Harry Potter, because Marcus Moreno was the new wizard in town. You might have been a little jealous that he was so good with your son but at the same time, it made you like him even more. He was the first parent at the school that had leant into Jack’s wild tendencies. And, whilst you tried not to think too much about it, even his own dad had struggled to do that. It made your heart warm a little.
‘You are seriously my favourite person.’ You chimed, leaning back against your car.
‘Kids with character are way more fun than kids who are well-behaved.’ Marcus replied.
‘I spent forty-five minutes scraping string cheese out the USB port of my computer yesterday, but sure.’
He chuckled. ‘No, I’m serious. I don’t encourage Missy to misbehave but she does get herself into some situations. I choose to see it as a testament to her intelligence rather than disobedience.’
‘I refuse to believe for a second that Missy ever misbehaves.’ You shot back back. ‘She seems so well-behaved.’
‘What you see in the parking lot is not a reflection of our whole lives.’ He reminded you.
‘Right, because despite appearances, I’m actually a very put together parent.’ You snorted. ‘But I get what you mean.’
‘I gotta get to work now, but it was good to see you.’ Marcus pulled his car keys out his pocket. ‘I was serious about that suit thing, by the way. He saw my katanas on Saturday.’
‘Katanas?’ You spluttered. ‘My kid managed to start a fire last week out of nothing and you want to give him katanas?!’
‘Maybe I can show you how to use them.’ He flashed you a smile. ‘And then you can pass on the knowledge.’
‘That’s probably an even worse idea.’ You shook your head with a laugh, pulling open your car door. ‘I’ll see you around.’
‘You as well. Have a good day, pretty lady.’
--
Did you stop thinking about your exchange at any point during the day? Absolutely not. In fact, you’d already written an email to the local deed poll office to change your legal name to Pretty Lady.
No, but in all seriousness, you’d been a little giddy about it. Had he been flirting? That didn’t seem like a long shot. You got on well, you’d hung out a bit over the weekend and not to toot your own horn, but you were by no means bad looking. Tired and a little frazzled, sometimes? Yeah. But anyone would have been lucky to have you and you were doing a better job at recognising that, especially since your divorce.
You were almost ecstatic when it got to 4PM and you hadn’t received a single call from Jack’s teachers. That meant that he had behaved, and what Marcus had said had worked. Because you worked past his finishing time, he usually went to the after-school club till you could come to collect him - it had been a lifesaver, especially since you couldn’t always leave early. He usually came home with some kind of weird arts and crafts. Last week, it had been an unidentifiable item made of dried macaroni and glitter. He’d placed it pridefully on the old fireplace in your lounge.
After saying goodbye to your co-workers, you headed out the building. Your office was right in the city centre and not too far out from the school. It was a nice place to be; your lunch hour, when you could head out to a street cart and eat your food in the local park, was usually the highlight of your day. It was when you could exist just as you. When you were at work, you were in charge on your entire department. When you were home, you were a parent 24/7. That time to yourself was vital.
As you were heading to your car, your phone began to ring. Your heart almost jumped out your chest when you saw Marcus’ name - he hadn’t called you before, only texted to sort out the previous weekend’s plans with Jack. You quickly organised yourself (he couldn’t see you, dumb ass) and cleared your throat.
‘Hey, everything alright?’ You brightly greeted him.
‘Hey! Are you out of work now?’
‘Yeah, I’m literally just leaving. What’s up?’
‘Look, I hate to do this but I’ve had an emergency at work - superhero related, you don’t wanna know - and I’m not gonna be out for hours.’ Marcus sounded stressed. Yeah, I feel that you thought. ‘Would you be able to pick up Missy and possibly have her for a few hours? If not, that’s totally-’
‘- I’d be glad too!’ You interrupted him. ‘I owe you one anyways for the weekend. And this morning, actually.’
‘You don’t owe me anything.’ He sounded surprised that you’d even imply it. ‘But I will definitely owe you for having Missy.’
‘Hey, it’s cool!’ You insisted. ‘Do you want me to drop her off at yours later?’
‘I can come and collect her if you text me your address?’
‘Perfect.’ You smiled. ‘I’ll see you later then?’
‘You’re a lifesaver.’ Marcus said. ‘I’ll text Missy to let her know to find your car instead of mine. I would ask for your plate number, but your car is...’
‘...bright red, covered in dents and hard to miss?’ You finished his sentence.
‘Exactly.’
You’d been in the same situation before; pulled between work and parenting, with Jack stuck at school and an important meeting that felt like it was never ending. It was hard to get a sitter on such short notice - or afford one, sometimes - and it was just another one of the million, stressful situations that single parenting could get you into. If you could help Marcus even a little bit, of course you were going to. You knew he’d do the same for you. Heck, he had done the same for you.
Jack and Missy were both chatty on the way home. Given that she was a little older than him, her conversational skills were strikingly better. It was nice to ask someone about their day and not get where are my Cheetos? as an answer. From what you gathered, she hated science class, enjoyed gym, and her favourite subject was lunch. That didn’t come as a surprise to you - her dad was a literal superhero and probably encouraged physical activity.
(You’d seen his arms, okay? They were more than enough to go on. I digress).
The only thing that made you wish you’d had a little more notice on having her for the evening was the state of your apartment. The place wasn’t bad; you’d lived there for the better part of eight years, and it was crammed with soft furniture and millions of blankets, as well as photos of you and Jack and his questionable art projects. It was just that you hadn’t done the dishes that morning, there was a mountain of shoes by the door and the pancakes from the previous night were still stuck on the roof.
Missy barely blinked an eye; the minute she saw your dog, she’d abandoned her bag and was playing with him.
‘Hey buddy!’ She grinned. ‘What’s he called?’
‘That’s Oppy.’ You replied, hanging your jacket up. She didn’t need to know that it was short for Optimus Prime. No guesses on whose idea that had been.
‘He’s so cute!’ Missy continued. ‘I’ve been asking dad for a dog for ages but he won’t budge.’
For some reason, that surprised you a little. Marcus might have been the leader of a super-hero team and a public figure, but you could tell he would do anything for his daughter. You knew because it was the same for you with Jack. He might have ruled your whole life but you would have hung the damn stars in the sky for him if he asked
‘They’re a lot of work.’ You reasoned. ‘I have to wake up every morning at 6AM to make sure he gets a walk. Then there’s the matter of-’
‘- mum! Optimus Prime pooped in the bathroom!’
‘The matter of that.’ You murmured under your breath.
The rest of the evening went pretty smoothly. You fed the kids some leftover takeaway and between the dog and Netflix, they were easily entertained. Jack seemed to take a liking to Missy, which was good because it meant he wanted to sit with her the entire time instead of bouncing off the walls. She had the same patience as her dad, especially when he asked her a million questions about superheroes. It took her twenty minutes to convince him that Batman wasn’t her uncle, and a further fifteen to make him believe that she hadn’t met Captain America.
Jack had asked you a few times about whether or not he would get siblings. Of course, it would be different to any interactions with Missy because he would have been the oldest, but it did get you thinking. You were finally in a place where you were moving past your former relationship and healing from the wounds. Time wasn’t much of an issue either - you’d had Jack when you were young and barely out of college. You couldn’t possibly imagine having any more kids right now, not when it was just the two of you, but in the future? You’d never rule out meeting somebody new. If anything, you were hopeful. Your first relationship had been your only one, and it had ended badly. You wanted to experience love for what it actually was, and not what you thought it was supposed to be.
Not long after 7PM, there was a knock on your door. By that point, both Missy and Jack had passed out on the sofa with Star Wars playing quietly in the background. It had been her idea to watch it - she had good taste. Marcus had clearly done a good job.
‘Hey!’ You greeted him as you pulled open the front door. ‘Come in quick, it’s fucking freezing out there.’
‘Thank you.’ Marcus came inside, dusting a few snow flakes out his hair. ‘Seriously, I can’t say it enough-’
‘- it’s fine!’ You shook your head, offering him a smile. ‘Missy’s been great. She’s really chatty and it was nice to have a coherent conversation with someone that isn’t about Paw Patrol. But was everything at the office okay?’
He was quiet for a minute. ‘Yeah. We uh, we lost someone. A hero.’
‘Shit, man. I’m sorry.’ Your voice fell quiet. ‘You wanna come in? You look like you could probably take a moment.’
‘Are you sure?’
‘Of course! Missy and Jack are both asleep on the couch anyways.’ You pointed through to the living room. Marcus leant over to have a look, smiling slightly at the sight.
‘Thank you. I’d appreciate that.’
He took a seat at the kitchen counter. Your old bar stools were a little old and wobbly, but Marcus didn’t seem to notice. If anything, he admired the place. It was cluttered as hell and filled with useless, old items - cook books you didn’t use, random magnets, assorted toys - but it was nice. His house always felt a little cold and clinical. He’d moved a lot over the course of Missy’s life and now that he was retired from the field, he’d sworn to her that their current house was going to be permanent. Whether or not it felt like home was another question entirely.
‘I would offer you a drink but all I have is..’ you paused, opening the fridge. ‘Nesquik, vodka or apple juice.’
‘You know what? A Nesquik doesn’t sound too bad.’
‘I like your thinking, Moreno.’
After quickly fixing up the two drinks, you slid into the seat beside him and handed him one. You had never in a million years imagined a situation where Marcus Moreno would be in your kitchen drinking chocolate milk, but here we were. It had clearly been a long day for him and you had enough of those to last a lifetime, so you knew how it felt. Coming home after a day that had beat your ass into the ground and having to put on a brave face for your kids was difficult at best.
‘Are you sure you’re okay?’ You gently asked.
‘Yeah, I’ll be okay - it just always fucks me up a bit.’ Marcus murmured quietly. ‘Hits a little too close to home.’
He wasn’t an idiot. He knew that you knew what had happened to his wife. You knew why he’d retired, and why he and Missy had moved away from their original city six years ago.
‘Sorry, that was too deep-’
‘- it wasn’t!’ You quickly cut him off. ‘I’ve had random women come up to me at pick up time and say they’re sorry to hear about my divorce. People I don’t even know. So really, after that, nothing is too much.’
He smiled slightly. ‘They always say they’re sorry but why would you bring up a subject if you have to apologise for it?’
‘Exactly!’ You replied. ‘Especially when I’ve moved on. It’s been a year.’
‘It’s the same with me. Missy and I miss her everyday but we don’t mope about it. We just...we look back with fondness on the good memories we have. You can’t move forward if you’re stuck in the past, no matter how much it sucks.’
‘That’s...that’s wise.’ You blinked in surprise. ‘S’pose that means I should take down the dartboard I have with my ex’s face on.’
‘From what I’ve heard, he seems like he should have more than a dart board.’ Marcus snorted - then he froze. ‘Wait, not that I’ve heard stuff, I mean...I don’t listen-’
‘- Marcus!’ You whacked his arm. ‘It’s fine. One of the other kid’s mums started telling me about the terrible divorce someone was going through but she realised she was gossiping to the one who was going through it.’
‘I don’t know how much of what I’ve been told is true, but it sounds like it was bad.’ His hand hovered over where yours was rested on the counter.
‘The rumours pretty much get the gist of it.’ You replied. ‘But we were talking about your thing, so I don’t wanna take away from that.’
‘Hey, it’s okay.’ He finally moved his hand, fingers gently curling underneath yours to intertwine them. ‘If even half of the whispers are true, he sounds like an asshole. You and Jack both deserve better than that.’
Whatever people had said, it had sort of covered the gist of it. You’d married too young and had a kid too young - your ex had been a terrible husband and an even worst husband. He’d chastised Jack for being...well, being Jack. He’d stay out late with his friends, spend money on things neither of you needed and tried to make you take the blame for it all. After giving him a few too many chances, you’d finally reached breaking point and kicked him out. Filing for divorce and taking on being a single parent was single-handedly the hardest and bravest thing you’d ever had to do. In a way, you were glad you’d done it when Jack was still so young - he didn’t really understand any of it, even when you’d try to explain it in child friendly terms.
‘I think people judge me for it a little sometimes.’ You confessed. ‘They see me struggling but they know I made the choice to separate from him, like I brought it all on myself.’
‘That’s bullshit.’ Marcus plainly stated. ‘Parenthood isn’t a dependent thing based on whether or not you’re still married to the other parent. It’s unconditional and permanent.’
‘I should tell him that, but I also don’t want him back in our lives.’
‘I know it’s none of my business, but he doesn’t deserve Jack. He’s one of the best and brightest kids I’ve ever met.’
‘Thank you. I’m glad he doesn’t seem like a complete lunatic.’
‘He doesn’t deserve you either.’ Marcus continued. ‘Again, I might be out of place saying this but you are...you’re amazing. I was a wreck when I was suddenly on my own and you’re still holding everything together and working your ass off.’
‘You’ve noticed?’ You quirked an eyebrow.
‘Yeah, in passing.’ He admitted. ‘I remember I once saw you carrying three separate science projects at once and then Carol made a passing comment that you were on your own and...I just kinda admired you from afar.’
‘You, Marcus Moreno, admired me?’ You blinked at him in disbelief. ‘I find that hard to believe.’
‘I wish I’d had my shit together half as much as you did when I lost Missy’s mum.’
‘But the difference is you didn’t have a choice in your situation. I chose to boot his dad out-’
‘- you gotta stop discrediting yourself.’ He shook his head. ‘And stop blaming yourself. You did what was right for your kid and that is the most admirable thing of all.’
‘You really think so?’
‘I know so.’
The conversation slowly drizzled away, leaving you two to just look at each other. It was hard to tear yourself away from his brown eyes - there was a lot going on behind them. Fear, pain, anguish, admiration. He was one of the most mind-blowingly impressive people you’d ever met; single dad, superhero, electric car owner. He probably didn’t have a mortgage too and that was kinda hot. You were none of those things and yet, here he was, with you, managing to connect on a level that you never had with anyone. Both of your situations were tough, but they’d brought you together.
Marcus Moreno was pretty fucking fearless (came with the job, you figured), and he wasn’t afraid to make the first move. He slowly inched his head forward and in return, you gravitated towards him. Your lips met halfway in a soft kiss, his hands moving to firmly hold your waist as he pulled you closer.
You almost stumbled out your chair with the movement, but his grip on your hips meant you didn’t slip. Instead, he placed you up on the counter, standing up as he did. It took you a moment to adjust to the position, but with your legs resting on either side of his, you could reach forward and lean on him. You had one hand tangled in his hair and the other on the back of his neck -  you’d surprised yourself with that. It had been months since you’d kissed anyone, but you weren’t as rusty as you thought.
‘Oh my god, is the superhero gonna be my new dad?!’
Marcus suddenly jumped backwards at the sound of Jack’s voice. He was stood in the doorway, post-nap hair covered by a lopsided Chewbacca hood. His eyes were like dinner plates, even though he was grinning from ear to ear.
‘Uh...’ you glanced between him and Marcus. ‘We were just...we were...’
‘I had something in my eye.’
‘He had something in his eye.’ You quickly agreed. ‘But now it’s out, so Marcus is gonna go home.’
He knew you didn’t mean it rudely - it was more of a desperation thing. The longer he stayed, the more questions Jack would come out with. Missy could have overheard too and that would have been twice as much to explain. So really, the sooner he got out, the better.
‘Yeah. I’ll uh, I’ll grab Missy.’ Marcus said, scratching the back of his head. ‘Thank you again for looking after her.’
‘You don’t need to keep thanking me.’ You shot back.
He disappeared into the living room for a moment, reemerging with a sleeping Missy in his arms a moment later. Your eyes met again, and he gave you a soft smile.
‘I’ll call you.’
‘Yeah, sure.’  You nodded. ‘See you, Marcus.’
--
True to character, the next hour was spent being pelted with questions from your over-curious son. He didn’t shut up once when you were bathing him and he got even louder when you were reading him his best time story. On the bright side, you’d managed to get him to change out of his slightly manky Wookiee onesie and into a clean Buzz Lightyear one. Normally, you would have argued that he couldn’t live in pyjamas, but if it kept him quiet? It was a price you were willing to pay.
‘Night, kiddo.’ You pressed a kiss to his forehead, switching on his nightlight. ‘Remember our deal, yeah? If I buy you a Happy Meal tomorrow, you won’t mention what you saw to any of your friends?’
‘You said library was bad.’
‘No, it’s bribery.’ You corrected him. ‘And do as I say, not as I do.’
‘Sounds bad, but okay.’ He sleepily murmured. ‘Night.’
‘Night.’ You stood up, flicking out his bedroom lights.
‘Wait, mum!’ Jack suddenly sat up, as though he’d remembered something. ‘You never said no.’
‘No to what, buddy?’
‘When I asked if the superhero was my new dad.’
Well, fuck.

Time//Rafe Cameron x reader
requested?: yes
summary: Rafe tries to save his relationship after stealing money from her, part 2 of my fic “Thief”
warnings: language, bit of angst and sadness (happy ending tho)
WC: 1340
(not my gif, creds to the owner!)
Tumblr media
Rafe’s texts and calls were almost endless. The boy tried so hard to reach you. After a few days, you completely shut off your phone and put it away into your nightstand drawer.
Of course, it would’ve been easier to just block him but that seemed too mean. Even though what he did was worse, you deserved a break.
You weren’t sure how to feel. How could the person you trusted do something like this to you. But at the same time, you knew what kind of things he was going through. You were put at a tough position.
A week had passed and he had given up on the messaging and calling. Not that you would know though. Your phone had been shut off the entire time.
Rafe almost couldn’t believe his eyes when he ran into you in the grocery store. You acted like you didn’t see him and walked right past him.
“What the fuck, Y/N? So you’re going to act like you don’t even know you?” he said, too loudly to your liking. People’s heads turned towards you two.
You quickly scurried back to him, looking up into his eyes angrily. “Don’t do this right now!” you whisper-shouted.
“Do what?”
“Don’t cause a fucking scene here in the middle of the store.”
“Then talk to me. It’s all I’m asking, Y/N.”
You walked up to the cash register and placed your items on the counter. When you were starting to pull out your wallet from your purse, Rafe had already swiped his card and paid for your groceries.
“I don’t need you to pay for my stuff.”
“I know but-” he couldn’t even finish his sentence because you had already taken your stuff and were on your way out of the store.
Rafe quickly followed you to your car. “Y/N, please, just hear me out.”
“I’m not sure if I want to Rafe,” you admitted.
You threw your groceries into the trunk of your car and then sat into the driver’s seat, slamming the car door right in front of his face. You backed out of the parking lot, leaving him standing there with a frown on his face.
The same evening, you hear a knock at your front door. Your parents weren’t home. They were out on a date. Cute, I know.
Your first guess was that it would be Rafe. So for a second, you thought about just not going answering the door. But after a few moments, you realized how childish you were being.
So you stood up from the couch you were sitting on and made your way to the front door. To your surprise, it wasn’t Rafe. It was Wheezie.
“Hey, what are you doing here?”
“Rafe sent me,” she said, being straight up.
You rolled your eyes. “Of course he did. Come in.” Opening the door wider, you let Wheezie in.
“Do you want anything? Water? Tea? Coffee?”
“No, I’m good. Thanks for offering though.”
You both took a seat on your couch, facing each other. “So, why did he send you here?”
“Uhh he said that you’re refusing to talk to him.”
“So he sent you to do the talking? Pathetic.”
“Yeah, basically. He actually wrote you a letter.” Wheezie pulled out a white envelope from her the pocket of her jacket and handed it over to you.
“He wrote me a letter? Rafe? Are you sure that we’re talking about the same Rafe?” You raised your eyebrow at Wheezie before ripping open the envelope to reveal a folded paper. The letter.
“I know. I was surprised at first too.”
You unfolded the paper and sure enough, Rafe’s messy handwriting was there. “You mind if I take a few minutes to read this?”
“Sure, take as long as you need.”
And then you started reading.
Dear Y/N,
I fucked up. Again. And I don’t know what to do anymore. I’m out of ideas. I know what I did was wrong on so many levels. I knew the consequences and I still did it anyway. There’s nothing that I can do or say that would make the fact that I stole from you okay. I could say that I did it because of the current issues in my life. But I can’t blame my actions on other people. I did it. It’s entirely my fault. I’m sorry. From the bottom of my heart. I know you don’t trust me anymore and most likely hate me. And I get it. I hate me too. I beat myself up about it every day.  But the thing is Y/N, I want to save our relationship. I love you and I’m willing to literally anything to prove it to you. I promise I’ll work through my problems and that I’ll never do anything that might hurt you in any way. Let me prove my love to you.
Yours truly
Rafe
A single tear fell onto the pice of paper that you were holding in your hand. Wheezie noticed it.
“Are you okay, Y/N?” She scooted closer to you and brushed your hair out of your face. “And be honest.”
“No, I’m not.”
She pulled you into a hug and you cried into her shoulder. “You want to talk about it?”
“I don’t know what to do anymore.”
“What are your options?”
“Forgiving Rafe or breaking up with him. I want to forgive him. I really do. But I don’t know if I can.”
“I think you two should work it through. Rafe really cares for you. He loves you more than any of us. The way he’s been acting all week is just sad to look at. I’m not saying you should forget what he did but maybe you can find it in your heart to forgive him.”
Wheezie’s words made the gears in your head turn. She was right. For some reason she always was. God, you really loved that little girl.
“Thank you, Wheezie. I don’t know what I’d do without you.”
“You’d probably be very depressed cause I’m so awesome.”
“You totally are.”
You got up from the couch, wiping away your tears. “Let’s go. I’ll drive you home.”
“Ugh thank you. Rafe made me walk here.”
“He did? What an ass!” you said, making Wheezie giggle.
On the drive to the Cameron household, Wheezie pulled one of your hands away from the wheel and held it in hers. She knew you were nervous from the way your hands were gripping the wheel, knuckles turning white.
“Relax. It’ll be just fine.”
When you stopped the car in front of the house, Wheezie pulled you into a hug. “You got this.”
“Thank you, Wheezie.”
“Now go get your mans.” You laughed and got out of the car, following her into the house.
“He’s probably in his room,” Wheezie informed you before disappearing into the kitchen. You made your way up the stairs towards Rafe’s room.
You softly knocked on the door, waiting for an answer.
“What the fuck do you want?” he angrily shouted from behind the door.
“Uhh, Rafe, it’s me.” The door was opened almost immediately. Rafe stood in front of you, wearing sweatpants and an old band t-shirt.
“Y/N.”
“Hi.” you gave him a small smile before asking if you could enter his room. He mumbled an ‘of course’ and opened the door wider, closing it after you had walked in.
“So, I read your letter.” Rafe stayed quiet, staring at the ground.
“I came here to tell you that I will forgive you.” At that his eyes shot up, looking into yours.
“Are you serious?”
“Yes. But I will not forget it. I’m giving you one last chance, Rafe.”
“I completely understand.”
“It will take me time for me to trust you again.”
“I know, I deserve it, I’m sorry.”
“I know you are. And that’s why I’m going to help you with your problems.”
“Really?”
“Yes, of course. I love you and I’m not giving up on you. On us.”

Este's a friend of mine
We meet up every Tuesday night for dinner and a glass of wine
“Hey!” Allison greeted cheerily as she met y/n at their usual table tucked in the corner of their favorite restaurant. y/n returned the brunette’s smile as she stood up to hug her friend, but it didn’t reach her eyes. Allison saw through y/n’s facade and furrowed her eyebrows. “What’s wrong?” she asked as concern spread across her features.
“I think Justin is having an affair,” y/n admitted. The statement dropped like a bomb between the two women, causing Allison to nearly spew the wine in her mouth all over the table. She coughed a few times and drank some water to clear her throat before she composed herself enough to ask questions.
“What happened? Did you see something?” Allison asked hesitantly. Her mind was still reeling from the mere concept of y/n’s husband cheating on her. Sure, Justin had never been Allison’s favorite guy, but it was normal for girls to think that no guy would ever be good enough for their best friend. Right?
Her husband's acting different and it smells like infidelity
She says, "That ain't my merlot on his mouth"
"That ain't my jewelry on our joint account"
y/n explained what had been going on over the past few weeks. Justin had been acting distant, which wasn’t too abnormal, but when he started coming home from work much later than his shifts ended and disappearing at odd hours of the night, y/n got concerned. The day that she had planned to approach him about everything and ask if anything was wrong, she got a call from her bank while driving home from work.
“Hi Mrs. y/l/n, this is Kathy from the bank. I’m calling to inform you that there have been a few large cash withdrawals from your joint account recently under your husband’s name, as well as a pretty expensive purchase yesterday at the jeweler,” the rest of Kathy’s words sounded muffled to y/n. It was nowhere near her birthday, Valentine’s day, or their anniversary, so y/n didn’t know what he could possibly be spending all their money on.
The next incident came a few days later when both y/n and Justin were home. y/n’s husband was in the shower and his phone buzzed with a new text message alert. Typically, y/n was never the type to snoop on her husband’s phone, but she figured she should check in case it was a work message. At least that’s how she justified it in her head. Justin had saved the sender’s number under the contact name “Spam Risk.” It was clever, y/n had to give him credit for that at least. Upon further inspection, y/n quickly realized that those texts weren’t sent from a telemarketer bot.
6:24 p.m.   I can’t wait to see you tonight, baby - Spam Risk
6:25 p.m.   Don’t keep me waiting too long ;) - Spam Risk
y/n thought the messages were strange, but the picture that followed the messages was definitely what threw y/n for a loop. There, on her husband’s text message thread, was a racy photo of a woman’s body that definitely wasn’t hers. y/n was quite literally stunned to silence as she dropped the phone back down onto the dresser. For the rest of the night, y/n was numb and quiet, not that Justin noticed. Then, like clockwork, he left the house at 11 p.m. with no explanation of where he was going or when he would be back.
By the end of y/n’s story, Allison’s mouth was open so wide she was sure her jaw would hit the table.
“What are you going to do?” Allison whispered, still in shock. y/n grimaced before clearing her throat and speaking her next words with finality.
No, there ain't no doubt
I think I'm gonna call him out
Tumblr media
Este wasn't there
Tuesday night at Olive Garden at her job or anywhere
“Hi, there should be a reservation for two under Allison Argent or y/n y/l/n for tonight,” Allison greeted warmly as she approached the hostess stand at their go-to girl’s night restaurant.
“Right this way, ma’am,” the hostess said with a smile as she grabbed two menus and led her towards their usual table. Two menus. That must mean that y/n wasn’t there yet? Allison thought it was strange, y/n almost always was the first of the two to arrive. Allison brushed off the thought as she thanked the hostess and sat down. She had intended to look over the menu, but the strangeness of it all wouldn’t leave her mind. y/n was late. She was never late. Allison pulled out her phone to text her best friend, and it then occurred to her that she hadn’t heard from y/n since last week. Allison had been away on a “work” trip with her dad for the past six days and had just gotten back into town. After 30 minutes of sitting at the table alone, half a dozen unanswered text messages, and even more calls sent straight to voicemail, Allison dropped a few bills on the table and left.
As Allison pulled out of the parking lot, she turned on the radio in a futile attempt to drown out some of her racing thoughts. Between songs the radio host took to the mic to make an announcement.
“Hello Beacon Hills, we now interrupt your regularly scheduled listening with an urgent message from the Sheriff's department. Speaking now is Sheriff Noah Stilinski,” the host trailed off before there was a brief crackle as the audio transitioned to the Sheriff’s press briefing. Allison turned up the volume as the Sheriff’s voice carried across the radio.
“Thank you all for attending and tuning in. It is with great displeasure and a heavy heart that I inform you all that y/n y/l/n has been reported missing. Shortly after 8 a.m. this morning, we were informed by her husband that she didn’t show up for work yesterday morning and also didn’t come home last night,” Sheriff Stilinski continued speaking but it all began to sound like white noise to Allison. It took everything she had in her to focus on not veering off the road so that she could head to the Sheriff’s station and speak to Stilinski in person.
Conveniently, her route took her right past y/n and Justin’s house. Allison didn’t know what to expect as she sped by their house, but the fact that Justin’s normally filthy truck had been cleaned and waxed definitely caught her eye. The truck and driveway were soon out of sight due to the speed she was driving at, but at first glance, it looked as though his tires and grill had been replaced.
He reports his missing wife
And I noticed when I passed his house his truck has got some brand new tires
Tumblr media
About a week had passed since y/n had been reported missing. Allison wasn’t sure how many search parties had been held, but they all resulted in the same thing: nothing. There wasn’t a single trace of her best friend, in fact, everything in Beacon Hills looked completely unchanged and normal. Allison’s focus and appetite seemed to have left with her other half, try as she might to desperately hold onto them. Her marksmanship had even been affected, something that hadn’t happened since high school.
Allison started driving around town during her free time. She wasn’t headed anywhere in particular, she mostly did it to try to clear her mind, though most times she was unsuccessful. She’d been mindlessly taking right and left turns and before she realized where she was, she passed y/n’s house.
Allison hadn’t planned to slow down as she passed the house, it was a mindless act if anything. Seeing a moving truck backed up to the house while Justin and some unfamiliar blonde woman were unloading boxes ensured that her decision to park her car where it couldn’t be seen and spy on the pair wasn’t mindless. Despite her gut telling her not to, Allison decided to give Justin the benefit of the doubt. Maybe he needed a roommate now since y/n couldn’t pay her share of the rent? Allison tried her best to keep all of her judgments and suspicions at bay as she watched the otherwise uneventful event unfold while biting her fingernails.
A few boxes later, Justin pulled the blonde in by her waist and kissed her with a fervor that would make most people blush. Allison’s eyes nearly popped out of her head as she sat there in shock with her mouth wide open. It took a while, mostly because the kiss lasted for an obnoxious amount of time, but Allison finally regained control of her body. It was like her brain had to go through a hard reset before she was able to face the reality of the situation.
y/n was right. Justin was cheating on her. Not only that, but Justin had cheated on y/n, spent less than a week grieving her disappearance, then allowed this to happen.
And his mistress moved in
Sleeps in Este's bed and everything
Tumblr media
Allison found out that Justin Smith’s mistress’s name was Rebecca Baker. She was a few years younger than y/n and she worked at the same company as Justin. It didn’t take long for Allison to hack into both of their iCloud accounts. A few hours of scrolling later she was really regretting her decision, especially when she got to Justin’s messages to Rebecca about y/n.

Each new message ensured that bits of Allison’s fingernails had been gnawed off while her left hand fidgeted anxiously in front of her mouth. Allison decided that those messages were probably the most incriminating thing she’d find digitally, but the time and date stamps caught her eye. The texts were sent early Monday morning, the day that y/n allegedly left home and then didn’t show up for work or return home.
A chill spread from deep within Allison’s bones up to the surface of her skin, making goosebumps appear. Allison didn’t know what exactly, but she knew something terrible had happened to y/n and Justin had something to do with it. She shut her laptop a little harder than necessary as a resolved look spread across her face.
No, there ain't no doubt
Somebody's gotta catch him out

Good thing my daddy made me get a boating license when I was fifteen
Allison regularly accessed her personal armory, whether it was to prepare for a job or pack for a trip to the shooting range, but it had been a while since a powerful and unforgiving feeling hung over her shoulders. Allison carefully ran her fingers over her custom silver arrowheads as she considered her options. Her father’s words from one of her adolescent archery lessons rung in her head.
“The type of bow and arrows you use doesn’t matter. As long as you use them right, you’ll be able to make any shot. Don’t get hung up on the technicalities.”
Not too long after, her bag was stocked with her essentials: a bow, her trusted black leather archery glove, as well as a handful of arrows, though these ones lacked the silver heads she typically reserved for more exotic expeditions.
The rare dark clouds in the California sky at sunset were reflected in Allison’s cold eyes. The drive to her target’s house was familiar, the turns she made were almost instinctual. Normally these roads reminded her of her coffee dates with y/n and nights they spent talking for hours until sunlight crept through the windows. Now, her mind was blank and her heart was devoid of all emotion.
Even though Allison had disabled her car’s GPS earlier, she parked her car about a mile away from his house. When she was done, there wouldn’t be any evidence that could be traced back to her. She memorized his schedule; at 5:00 p.m. his shift ended and recently he’d been getting home by 5:20. His girlfriend got home sometime between 5:30 and 5:45, but she would leave for her pilates class around 6:30 and wouldn’t get home until 7:45. Allison had just over an hour window to get the job done, but it wouldn’t take that long. If everything went according to plan, she’d be off the property within a few minutes of taking the shot.
When she arrived her target had just come home from work and was alone in the house. She waited patiently, hidden by the trees that the property backed up to. She watched as he moved around through the open curtains and then as his girlfriend entered the house and kissed him with a passion that made Allison’s stomach churn. She watched as they ate dinner together, as her target’s girlfriend got ready for her gym class, and watched as she got in her car and drove away. When Allison checked her watch it was only 6:25 p.m., she had far more time than she needed.
The plan was simple, really. Under the cover of darkness, she’d flip the breakers, effectively cutting the power. When her target came out to investigate, she’d let him fumble around in the darkness for a while. He’d always been a paranoid individual, so it wouldn’t take much to get him on edge. A rustle in the bushes here, a small snapped tree branch there, and then something that would get his attention. Allison wanted his eyes to be on her when she took the shot.
Allison’s target was watching TV so he knew immediately when the power went out, plus the fact that the once illuminated house was suddenly bathed in darkness. The high-pitched yelp that escaped his throat almost made Allison laugh. She had to keep quiet though, at least for now. As expected, the dopey man scurried around to the side of the house where the breakers were located in no time. The batteries in the flashlight he held were on their last leg, that much was evident in the way the light beam flickered every few seconds.
Just as he opened the door to the circuit breaker panel, Allison moved. A rustle here. The sound practically echoed in the silence of the night, causing the man to whip around and shine his flashlight directly at the source of the noise. There was nothing there. It’s just the wind, he reasoned before getting back to work. After a few switches had been flipped - none of them for the outdoor lights - he heard another noise. This one was much louder than the last, a small snapped tree branch there. Again, the flashlight’s flickering light beam uncovered nothing, but it was enough to make all of the hairs on the back of Allison’s target’s neck stand up straight. He hastily flipped the rest of the breakers and the outdoor lights finally came on.
When yellow light from the backyard fixtures flooded the area, both Allison and her target were revealed. Allison stood a considerable distance away from the man, but she was close enough to see the blood drain from his face and his Adam's apple bob. When his eyes darted to the bow hung by her side, realization dawned on his face. He began to turn away with the intention of running, but Allison’s voice held him frozen in place.
“Don’t move,” she ordered quietly without any aggression behind her tone. Her face wasn’t threatening, she just looked calm and focused. Allison’s smooth features and peaceful expression was what scared the man the most.
“I- I’m sorry- I didn’t-” he stammered out, his arms and legs beginning to tremble.
“Shh,” Allison chastised as she raised her bow, loading it with an arrow. Her fingers moved with precision, her muscles knew this routine well.
“Please don’t- no, you can’t, you can’t do this!” the man pleaded. He wasn’t above begging on his knees, but Allison wasn’t about to give him the chance. Her gaze was sharply focused on her target, the view of her tightly grasped bow in her peripheral vision.
“Nous chassons ceux qui nous chassent.”
When Allison’s fingers let go of the bowstring the arrow flew smoothly through the air. The only sounds heard were the arrowhead piercing skin and the man wordlessly falling to the ground. The arrow went straight through his heart. Maybe Allison’s shot landed right where she intended. Maybe there was a metaphor in there. Allison checked her wristwatch, the numbers 6:45 shining back at her. An entire hour to spare.
Time to take out the trash.

I've cleaned enough houses to know how to cover up a scene
The job didn’t take long at all and it was definitely one of Allison’s least challenging ones, but it still felt nice to take a hot shower and sit in front of her fireplace with a cup of tea. The fire served a dual purpose; the crackles of the burning wood soothed her like a lullaby while the flames licked around and destroyed her bloody clothes from earlier. All of her equipment had been cleaned and put away, positioned exactly as it had been before. Everything was the same, nothing changed or out of place. There was just one less heartbeat in the world that night.

Good thing Este's sister's gonna swear she was with me
On the second day of the trial,  Rebecca Baker’s lawyers were throwing whatever they could against the wall to see if something would stick. That morning they began to argue that Allison Argent might’ve abducted and murdered Justin Smith in retaliation for y/n’s disappearance. It was all speculation at best, but the theory unfortunately made sense to the jury. Before things could get too far, the prosecution called its first witness of the day to the stand.
“Mrs. Martin, where were you on the night of Mr. Smith’s suspected disappearance?” the prosecution lawyer questioned calmly.
“I was with Allison at my house. We were having a girls night in, you can check my security cameras,” Lydia answered confidently. Lydia still had a pocketful of favors from her MIT days, so when the jurors were shown the clips from Lydia’s home security cameras, they saw exactly what they would’ve expected based on Lydia’s testimony.
Truth be told, Lydia didn’t know anything about what happened that night; including Allison’s whereabouts and any details related to Justin’s alleged demise. All she knew was that Allison called and asked for a simple favor - an alibi for just a few hours. Lydia didn’t ask questions and Allison didn’t give answers.
Good thing his mistress took out a big life insurance policy
On the third day of the trial, Rebecca Baker took the stand. Her lawyers tried to help her as best they could, but the prosecution was ruthless. All of the evidence was circumstantial at best -  all parties, including the judge and jurors, knew that - but it was enough to make everyone reconsider the spotless image the defense had tried to create for Ms. Baker.
“Ms. Baker, is it true that you knowingly engaged in a romantic relationship while Justin Smith was married to and living with his wife?” another one of the prosecution’s attorneys began.
“Yes,” Rebecca replied meekly. Allison internally scoffed from her seat in the gallery. She found irony in the fact that Rebecca didn’t find any humility or shame in sleeping with another woman’s husband until she was under oath.
“Is it also true that within approximately a week of Mrs. y/l/n’s disappearance, you moved into Mr. Smith and Mrs. y/l/n’s house?”
“That is correct,” Rebecca said as she began to wring her hands together anxiously. The judge tapped his wrist watch and shot a stern look towards the prosecutor. The man nodded in response and continued to his final points.
“I’ll wrap up my questions for you, Ms. Baker. Can you confirm that shortly after moving in with Mr. Smith, multiple legal and financial arrangements and adjustments were made? And these new arrangements make you the sole beneficiary of Mr. Smith’s life issuance policy, assets, and investments?”
By the end of the prosecution’s final question, every jury member and spectator sat up straighter and waited to hear Rebecca’s response with bated breath. The blonde ball of nerves sighed defeatedly before turning to face the attorney directly as she answered his question.
“Yes, that’s true.”
“No further questions, your honor.” As the lead prosecutor returned to the plaintiff’s table, Rebecca’s attorney stood up to address the judge.
“Your honor, the defense would like to request a brief recess,” the defense attorney nearly pleaded. Though his poker face was much better than his client’s, it was clear that he was getting nervous.
“We’ll reconvene in 15 minutes,” the judge ordered with a stern glare cast towards Rebecca.
They think she did it but they just can't prove it
It soon became clear to Rebecca that the recess her legal team requested was nothing more than a “kiss your dignity goodbye” meeting. If she hadn’t been queasy before the recess was called, she definitely was upon re-entering the courtroom.
The rest of the trial seemed to move in slow motion for Rebecca. A few more witnesses were called to the stand, more lackluster evidence was presented, both sides made their closing arguments, and the jury left to discuss the verdict. After what felt like an eternity, the jury returned with an official decision.
Silence settled over the room as a single juror stood to address the court.
“The jury finds the defendant not guilty on count 1 of murder in the first degree based on lack of sufficient evidence. The jury finds the defendant not guilty on count 2 of kidnapping based on lack of sufficient evidence. The jury finds the defendant guilty on count 3 of insurance fraud based on…”
The rest of the jurors’ statement sounded like white noise to Rebecca. She was just barely coherent enough to hear the judge deliver her punishment a few minutes later. $50,000 fine and 200 hours of community service.
Allison stuck around to the bitter end of the trial to hear the verdict in person. In all honesty, Allison didn’t want Rebecca to go to jail. It wouldn’t be right for her to serve time for a crime she didn’t commit, but Allison did find satisfaction in the fact that Rebecca would soon be picking up garbage in a fluorescent orange vest.
After the majority of the spectators had vacated the courtroom gallery, Allison leisurely gathered her things. Justice had been served to Justin, she personally made sure of that, and now justice had been served to Rebecca. The blonde and brunette women briefly locked eye contact as Allison made her way towards the exit.
“You did this,” Rebecca whispered to Allison. Suddenly, it was like a flip switched within her. One moment she was numb, yet calm and collected, and the next moment she was screaming (literal) bloody murder and had to be held back by her lawyers.
“YOU DID THIS! YOU KILLED JUSTIN, YOU BITCH!” Rebecca cried, though her words fell on deaf ears. Allison exited the courtroom with her head held high as the courtroom deputy and defense lawyers did their best to calm the hysterical woman.
She thinks I did it but she just can't prove it
Tumblr media
A week later the court case was still on Allison’s mind but the emotional scars had begun to scab. Healing was never a straight or smooth path, Allison had learned that the hard way over the years, but this was a start.
y/n’s landlord had been generous enough to allow Allison to gather y/n’s things before he cleaned out the house for new renters. As Allison walked through the home she once considered to be an extension of her own, she felt her throat dry out and tighten up. She hadn’t realized she was crying until she was wiping salty tears off of the picture frames she’d carefully picked up. Each photo unlocked a new memory, some even elicited a chuckle out of Allison amidst her tears.
A photo from y/n’s wedding day stood out among all the rest as Allison’s eyes jumped from frame to frame. It was a candid shot Lydia had taken while they were in y/n’s dressing room before the ceremony. y/n looked as beautiful as ever in her flowy white gown and Allison’s mulberry maid of honor dress complemented it well. As Allison put the final touches on y/n’s hair and makeup, y/n fastened the clasp of a custom necklace behind Allison’s neck. On a thin, medium-length chain hung an arrowhead from the first time Allison had ever tried to teach y/n how to shoot a bow and arrow. y/n failed miserably, but it was a cherished memory for both girls. Since that day, Allison had only taken the necklace off a handful of times.
Allison smiled bittersweetly at the memory and wiped a fresh tear off of the decorative frame before pulling her necklace out from underneath her shirt. She pressed a gentle kiss to the cool silver arrowhead and then to the photo frame, right above y/n’s styled hair.
A feeling that Allison couldn’t quite explain flowed through her body just then; it was like taking a deep breath of fresh air after being stuck underwater or seeing the gentle rays of the sun for the first time after a hurricane, it felt like freedom. Allison felt almost as if y/n was right there next to her, with her head resting on Allison's shoulder and wrapping her arms around the brunette’s torso. In that moment, Allison somehow wordlessly knew with every fiber in her being that y/n was finally at peace.
No, no body, no crime

a/n: AHHHH DID YOU LIKE IT? it was kind of a wild ride from start to finish and i definitely shed a few tears while i was writing it. please lmk what you think!
okay, now onto the writing process from hell: i started drafting ideas for the fic on dec. 21 or 22 of 2020, after i put together a mood board. i had written more than half of the fic when i decided i hated it and scrapped the whole thing on xmas eve (~3000 words 🤡). after that i was kinda in a rut and couldn’t decide how i wanted to end the fic so i ended up writing and deleting ~2500 words over the past month and a half. @demxters is an absolute GODDESS and helped me come up with the ending, so i am eternally grateful to her for that. if any of this seems a lil strange it’s probably because i finished writing it at 4:45 a.m. after working on it for 3ish hours straight. have a great day lovelies!

“Are you sure that you have everything?” Joel asked for the twentieth time in the past hour, “we can run back to yours if you need anything else”
“I feel like you’re just trying to get me to stay with you longer,” you said, skeptically.
“Is it working?”
“No, Bee, I have to leave at some point,”  you said, putting another bag of yours in his car,”I won’t be gone long.”
“Yeah, but you’ll be closer to the Stars and that has me worried,” he said, causing you to chuckle.
“You worried about Seggy? Or Roope? Or Big Rig? Or Mi-”
“Okay, I get it.”
“Don’t worry your pretty little head about it, I love you and only you, shawty. Besides, I can only tolerate Texas weather for so long,” you said, leaning up to kiss him on the cheek.
“I love you, too, shawty,” he paused,”Wait,- that was rude.”
After packing the last of your bags into the car, you made your way to the airport to meet Marcus and Michelle. Once you arrived at the airport, Joel parked the car before the two of you headed into the airport. The four of you caught up for a while before Marcus suggested giving you and Joel time to say goodbye.
“Is this how it feels when me and the guys leave for the road?” Joel asked, softly.
“Yeah,” you said, smiling sadly.
“Well, good thing I’m the one on the road all the time, I mean, I don’t like leaving you, but when I’m leaving it’s a different feeling, you know.”
“Well glad it makes you happy, buddy.”
“Did you just buddy me?” Joel asked, incredulously.
“Did I?” you asked, laughing as Joel gasped in shock.
“Wow, I see how it is. I’ll remember that.”
“Go ahead, babe. Remember it however you want,” you paused when you saw the sad look on his face, reaching to hold his face in your hands, “hey, I’m only a text away, I might not be right here, but I will answer as soon as I can and we’ll facetime as much as you want these next few days.”
Joel nodded before looking up and seeing Marcus and Michelle headed your way, “we hate to cut this short, but we have to get going pretty soon.”
“I know I asked, but do you really have to go?”
“Yeah, Bee, I really have to go.”
“You better kick ass out there or else you’re just leaving for nothing,” he said, jokingly, “but honestly, I wish you the best of luck - I know you don’t need it, but I’ll say it anyway. Make sure to tell Nicole I said good luck and please make sure to wipe that smug look off Kathryn's face. Okay?”
“Yeah, of course,” you said, wrapping your arms around him as he pressed kiss to the top of your head. “I’ll miss you.”
“I’ll miss you, too, but if you don’t go, the only thing you’ll be missing is your flight.”
“Wow, Bee, you are so funny.”
“Well, one of us has to be the funny one in the relationship. Your mom jokes only get you so far far in life, babe,” he said, causing you to elbow him in the stomach.
“I’m leaving now. I love you and I will text you when I land,” you leaned up for a quick goodbye kiss before grabbing your carry-on bag and heading to your gate. You avoided looking back, knowing that if you did, both of you wouldn’t let the other leave.
“I think you chose a good one,” Marcus said once the three of you had sat down.
“What?” you asked, shocked.
“Joel. He seems like a good guy. He clearly cares about you and I can see that you care a lot about him, too. He clearly makes you happy,” Marcus added.
Heat rushed up your face, to which you simply looked out the window, “yeah, he’s a good guy.”
“A cute one, too,” Michelle interrupted.
“Yes, that too. But Michelle, you better lay off,” the three of you laughed as the flight attendants started to announce the safety procedures for your flight. The three of you did your own thing the rest of the flight: Marcus planning out how podium training would go, Michelle analyzing your routines, and you sleeping.
“Alright, so as soon as we land, we get luggage and go to our hotel. There is a small media event tomorrow morning before podium training, then podium training, then probably some more media. You will have the rest of the night to do whatever, I know you’ll probably go see your Dallas friends and that’s fine, just make it back in time. Then, Friday is the first day of competition, Saturday is the second day, then we have some free time Sunday,” Marcus read off to you, even with you half asleep.
“Sounds lovely,” you grumbled.
…..
“So, y/n, with your injury being a top priority, how different have practices been since you are still somewhat in recovery?” one of the journalists asked. You had stayed prepared for a multitude of questions having to do with your injury, so this question had an easy response.
“I would say, it’s definitely a totally new experience. I’ve had to tailor my focus to other aspects of this sport since the start of my recovery, whether that be drills, more conditioning, or changing up my routines. My team and I definitely have figured out what things work and what doesn’t and we continue to learn as I continue training,” you answered, swiftly.
“Now obviously, you were the highest scorer in most of your competitions, even before your injury, how has competition changed for you? And what has inspired you to train harder?” another journalist asked.
“I have to say, competition is slightly more nerve-wracking than before. I mean getting injured at a major competition definitely changes perspective for all aspects of it. I feel that I have to be more cautious when performing, whereas before I would just go with the motions. Something that’s inspired me has been that my competitors have continued training, I have a fair amount of competition - all of which are excellent athletes - which has helped motivate me a lot, but I also have an amazing support system back home who have made sure to give me that extra motivation when I need it,” you smiled.
“Now, having to deal with that support system at home, who and how have they influenced your decisions of your journey through recovery?” which was the first question that made you smile.
“Well first, a huge shoutout to my family, especially my cousin, Kevin. Without his support, I wouldn’t have ever tried to get back in the gym, he’s been there this whole time and I couldn’t be more grateful. Um, my coaches were so supportive of my comeback; my physical trainor, Adrian, who told me all the doctors were wrong and gave me the reality checks I needed; the whole Philadelphia Flyers roster and their families cheered me on the whole time, especially my boyfriend, Joel Farabee. My friends, my teammates, all of them pushed me where I needed to be,” you said, gratefully.
“Thank you for your time, y/n. We wish you the best of luck this weekend,” the main announcer said to you before you went off to podium training.
Marcus and Michelle had both told you only to warm up simplified versions of your routine, so that you could bring shock factor when you were actually performing. You had upgraded almost all of your tumbling back to where it was before injury, but no one needed to know that besides you and those in your gym. Podium training had gone very well, better than you had anticipated, so you were looking forward to how championships would go.
As you packed up your gym bag and grabbed your phone, you saw all the messages you had from the Flyers group chat you had somehow found your way to.
Bee: did you guys see that too?
Tiki Bar: if we are talking about the same thing, i think we did.
Patti Lapone: did she actually say nice things about us?
Kev: i really think the texas heat is getting to her already
G: she’s probably just feeling under the weather about competition, otherwise we might want to check if she is okay
Scotty: i think i misheard or i got hit in the head and didn’t realize it
Frosty: hell has frozen over
Bee: haha. frost. frozen. get it
Tiki Bar: beezer.
G: i’ll make you do laps if you make another frost joke
Laughing at the texts in the group chat in reaction to your interview, you simply typed up a simple response: this is what i get when i’m nice, now you know why i’m not like this all the time.
Luckily for you, you didn’t have to do any media after podium training, so you were able to leave whenever you wanted to. After checking with Marcus and Michelle, you made sure it was alright that you went off to go see Tyler and the rest of the guys. Assuming that they would be at practice, after changing out of your leo, you took the drive to the Stars practice facility.
Having come to Fort Worth so much for gymnastics and Dallas for a few hockey games, you had run into some of the Stars roster on multiple occasions. By the third time you had ran into them, and this time ran into was a very literal statement, you had exchanged social medias and most of the roster kept an eye out for any updates in your gymnastics career. During your recovery, the whole team constantly asked for updates about how you were and how gymnastics was going.
Once you parked, you quietly made your way inside - not wanting to interrupt the practice. There were a few officials walking around, but most either paid you no mind or recognized you from times before you had been here. Walking towards the rink, your eyes settled on the boys doing laps for the last part of practice. It wasn’t until most of the guys were only talking and about to get off the ice that they noticed you.
Tyler was the first to notice you, smiling and waving towards you, which caused most of the team to follow where he was looking and notice you. As the team headed to the locker room to change, you simply waited on one of the benches for them.
“I feel like you only came all this way to see my dogs,” Tyler said, making his way towards you.
“No, I would never do such a thing, I obviously came here to say hi to you,” you stood up to give him a hug.
“Mhm, whatever you say. Didn’t you have podium training today? How’d it go?”
“Well, it went pretty well actually. I did a few of my dismounts, but kept most of my landings safe just to be careful. But other than that everything went well.”
“As long as you kick ass tomorrow, I’m fine,” he said, honestly, “do you have anything else to do for the rest of the day or did you just come to say hi?”
“Well, I have no plans for the rest of the day, but I don’t want to intrude on any team plans.”
“You know you would never be intruding on anything with us, even if you are dating a Flyer,” Jamie O said from behind you.
“God, Jamie, what the fuck? Where’d you come from?”
“Your mom’s house,” he said, earning a fist bump from Tyler.
“I can’t even be upset, that was a good one,” you smiled as Jamie hugged you,”and don’t bring Joel into this.”
“My condolences.”
“Condolences? No one died?” you questioned.
“You are dating someone that plays for the Flyers,” Tyler said.
“Damn, that’s harsh,” you replied.
“Anyways, moving on. Me and a few other guys were coming over to mine for lunch and to hangout, if you want to come you are welcome to,” Tyler said to which you simply nodded.
“Is that who I think it is?” another familiar voice rang out, causing you to whip your head around to see Roope and Jake heading your way.
“Well, if you thought it was me, then you would be correct, my friend,” you retaliated.
“I’m surprised they let you in here, considering you are dating a Flyer,” Otter said, jokingly.
“Quit bringing the fact that I’m dating Bee into the conversation.”
“At least Nicole is in the safe zone,” Roope said, causing your eyes to widen, “y/n. What was that?”
“What was what?” you questioned as Roope simply narrowed his eyes.
“You did the thing.”
“What are you talking about, bestie?”
“Oh, you have a habit of your face changing when you know something that will ruin the whole perspective or something or if you know a secret that will change the entire story. Very entertaining and concerning that you didn’t know,” Tyler added.
“Um, well, didn’t expect to be psychoanalyzed by a bunch of hockey players today, but here we are.”
“Ok, I think we should head to mine and then, we can continue psychoanalyzing you,” Tyler suggested to which you all agreed. Roope, who had gotten a ride from Tyler in the morning, immediately hopped into your car as soon as you unlocked it.
“What’s up with Nicole?” he asked as soon as you started driving.
“What happened to hello? How are you?” you joked.
“Listen, I’m asking now because I don’t want to talk about this with the guys there. But what did you mean?” he said, causing you to take a deep breath. It wasn’t like Roope and Nicole were ever together, but it was always an unspoken fling of sorts, that they never made official.
“Look,-”
“Please, just tell me what’s happening,” he pleaded.
“Nicole and Nolan are sort of together,” you rushed out, causing a moment of silence to break out. You didn’t know what to expect as a reaction, considering they weren’t official and hadn’t really talked since the last time you and her were in Texas.
“Is she happy?”
“Yeah, she’s happy.”
“Okay, that’s all I care about,” he said simply, which made your heart almost break for one of your closest friends.
…..
Being able to spend time with some of your close friends that you hadn’t seen in a while was just what you needed to destress about championships. Maybe an intense game of uno with five of the most competitive people was exactly what some might call a destressor, but here you were.
Tyler threw down his cards as he stood up dramatically, “no, because there is no way that a.) she already has an uno and that b.) all of you used your draw two cards against me.”
“Don’t be upset, Ty, that’s just how the game of uno is sometimes,” you replied, hiding a laugh.
“Oh, shut up. I think you guys cheated,” Tyler accused.
“I think you just don’t know how to play uno,” Jamie mumbled.
“Oh, yeah, real funny. I think you all teamed up against me and Jake dealt that way on purpose.”
“And we all think, you just can’t accept a loss in uno,” Roope added.
“Fine, let’s settle this like men,” Tyler grabbed all the cards, attempting to shuffle them before accepting he couldn’t shuffle and handing them over to you to shuffle, “I’m watching you.”
“Oh, wow, so scared,” quickly shuffling them, doing a little bit more than usual to get Tyler off your case, you handed them back to him, “there you go.”
Another final round of uno, which ended up with you and Roope head to head as far as who would win, while Tyler had ended up with at least 15 cards to which Jamie was the first to speak up, “I think we should end here before someone gets hurt.”
“No, no, we’re fine. It’s fine. y/n, take your turn,” he said, eyes narrowing as he watched from beside you. Even if it was your last card, you dropped the draw 4, which made Tyler draw more cards.
“Damn, that sucks,” you said, hiding a laugh.
“What was that, y/n?” Tyler said.
“I said, damn, that sucks,” you repeated, watching Tyler closely as he stood up quickly once again, before practically chasing you. “Tyler, it’s just uno. Stop chasing me.”
“Oh, wow, ‘damn, that sucks’” Tyler mocked.
As the other three watched, Jamie just grabbed the bowl of popcorn as they watched their friends running around chasing each other. “I see why we don’t play uno much,” Jake said.
“Yep. Exactly. But no one listened when I advised against it,” Jamie said, taking a drink of his beer.
“Tyler, watch yourself,” you said, as he stood on the opposite side of the couch. He started running one way, as you ran the other to avoid him, but he quickly sidestepped and caught up to you. Practically throwing you over his shoulder, he made his way out to the pool, “Tyler, let’s not do anything crazy here.”
“Oh, you mean like hold a draw four card until the end of the game,” Tyler said, as he tossed you into the deep end of his pool.
“Children. Literal children,” Roope said, shaking his head, going to grab you a towel.
Rising up from the water and quickly moving the hair out of your face, you swam over to where Tyler was, “hey, can you help me out?”
“Nah, I’m not falling for that one,” he stated.
“Seriously, I won’t do anything right now, I promise,” you said, as you saw him reach his arm out to which you quickly grabbed and stood out of the pool. Walking towards Roope, who had grabbed you a towel, you turned back around to see Tyler still walking near the pool. Using this to your advantage, you ran and pushed Tyler into the pool. “Sorry, bestie,” you said, running to get the towel from Roope and running back in the house.
After getting changed into one of Tyler’s extra shirts he had lying around, you were just hanging out with the guys when a familiar contact flashed on the screen to FaceTime, Jake who was right next to you immediately noticed, “ooh, better go talk to your man, y/n.”
“Shut the literal fuck up,” you called back, standing up to go the kitchen for privacy. Answering, you noticed that Joel was at Nolan and Kevin’s apartment, “were you that lonely without me, babe?”
“No, well maybe, but I’m helping them set up for the watch party tomorrow,” Joel said, taking a seat at their kitchen island, “how’d podium training go?”
“It went really well actually, I didn’t work the 3.5 just so that way I have something over their heads, you know. But other than that, it was all good. How are things at home?”
“Well, I mean no one is dead, which is always good. Um, debated getting a dog, my mom called, I told her about you. Uh, already told you about the watch party. I don’t think anything else interesting happened,” he said, shrugging as if he hadn’t just mentioned bringing you up to his mom.
“Wait, you told your mom about me?”
“Well, she does follow me on Instagram, so after seeing the post she texted me asking and then she asked while we were on the phone. She wished you good luck, by the way. She’s  also visiting here with my dad in a few weeks and I’d really love it if you would meet them,” he said, shyly.
“Uh, yeah, yeah, of course,” you rushed out, hoping you didn’t sound as nervous as you were.
“That sounded very unsure.”
“No, it’s fine. I just have never been at the spot in a relationship where I meet the parents, I’m just nervous. I don’t want to mess it up.”
“Babe, my mom already loves you, she was getting on my case about not telling her, but she already thinks very highly of you and I definitely hyped you up a little bit. You have nothing to worry about,” he reassured you, which made you smile.
“Hey, y/n/n,” Kevin yelled.
“Hey, Kev.”
“You were very nice in your interview today, it had all of us worried,” Kevin said, which caused you to roll your eyes in response.
“Hey, I can be nice sometimes.”
“On very rare occasions, yes,” Joel added.
“Whatever.” As you talked a little while longer with the guys, eventually Roope and Tyler had come in to say hi to everyone as well, which had you dying laughing as both of them gave the ‘you hurt her, we fly to Philly and hurt you’ talk that almost everyone had given him.
Telling Joel you would call him back whenever you made it back to your hotel, you stayed with the guys for another couple of hours before heading back to your hotel. Nicole had spent most of the day after podium training resting and had met you in the hotel lobby when you got back.
“So,- “ she didn’t even have to finish her sentence before you knew what she was saying.
“Roope is doing good, he said he hopes things are going well,” you said, watching as a small smile crept up her face.
“Well, good to know. Did you know KD is also staying at this hotel?”
“Well, considering this is the host hotel and most competitors are here, I am not all that shocked.”
“Yeah, but you probably didn’t know she’s legit a few rooms away from us, did ya?”
“No, guess not,” you said, “how’d you find that one out?”
“Well, let me set the scene for you. I go to get ice and then I hear her talking with, uh, whatever her name is, Callie or Carly, it starts with a C. Anyways, they were talking about you and me and how our skills have been less than recently and all this stuff about you not catching up to where you were - which I found so fucking funny because who has won gold at the past few meets? Not her. Anyways, all is fair in the sport of gymnastics, but I’m just excited to see her reaction to you doing the 3.5.”
“Damn, no pressure there, Nic.”
“Okay, but the thing is, you have the skill,” Nicole said, as you got into the elevator. “You have it down. It’s all up here, in your cranium,” she said, pointing to your head.
“Alright, let’s just go to bed now,” you said, slowly removing her hand and opening the door to your hotel room.
…..
“Hello everyone and welcome to Day One of the 2021 US Gymnastics Championships. We are very excited to see how today’s competition goes as this competition will decide who makes it onto the National Team and who will qualify for Olympic Trials,” Joel heard the announcer say as he made his way to sit with everyone in the living room.
“Did you talk to her this morning?” Claude asked from beside him.
“Yeah, usual pre-comp anxieties. Nolan talked to her and Nicole to give the usual pep talk and then we talked for a while on their way to the arena,” Joel answered, looking back to the TV to see you prepping for bars, “she said podium training went well, but Kathryn was talking shit, so all I know is she better kick her ass.”
“You know she will, it happens everytime. She gets in her head and still does amazing, just a casual Tuesday,” Scott added.
“It’s not Tuesday?” Travis questioned.
“Yes, I know,” Scott said, confusing everyone.
“Alright, moving on,” Joel reiterated.
“And starting on bars, we have y/n y/l/n. Now if you remember, less than a year ago, y/n was injured at another competition doing a beam dismount that she might be competing in today’s competition. She is definitely one to watch as she has a reputation of scoring high in these meets, before and after her return. Her teammate, Nicole Carter, will be following up.”
Joel watched as you stepped away from the chalk box to start your routine, he watched intently as you jumped from the springboard to reach the high bar. He watched intently as you went through your routine. Release skills. Giants. Pirouettes. More release skills. More giants. Dismount. Stuck landing.
“A great start to Day 1 for y/n, who seems pretty proud of how that routine went,” the announcer said, “rotation two will be beam, where we might see that 3.5 twist, which is currently in the process of being named by Kathryn Davis, who was the first to compete it at a major competition. Now the question everyone is wondering is will we see this skill from y/n today?”
“She’s doing it. Fucking dumbass,” Joel grumbled at the announcer.
“Damn, Beezer, tell them how you really feel,” Travis replied, as everyone else laughed at Joel’s behavior before watching Nicole compete. Nicole’s routine ended with a stuck landing, the camera following her as she made her way off the platform and hugged you before the two of you did your secret handshake.
Knowing the next event was beam, Joel waited as other competitors did their routines as you were warming up. He knew this moment would make or break how the rest of the meet went and with this only being your second event, it needed to go well.
Everyone watched anxiously as you saluted the judges, shaking your hands out before you reached to mount the beam. You took a deep breath before actually starting your routine. Starting the beginning choreography, you kept your movements sharp and clean. All the skills in your routine were sharp - doing this so if the dismount didn’t go well, it hopefully wouldn’t affect your score too much.
Joel had memorized your routines, knowing you were approaching your dismount, he saw your movements become slightly hesitant. Watching as you did a quick pivot on the beam to prep for the dismount, he watched you take a deep breath.
“C’mon, babe. You got it,” he said, and by whatever power was listening he watched your lips twitch up to a smile as you started your dismount. Going for the round-off and starting the twists, you did the three and a half twists, opening up to find your landing, and stuck your dismount. Joel’s smile grew even more when he saw how happy you were with your routine.
The rest of Day 1 of Championships went well for both you and Nicole; the two of you ending in the first and place spot in all around, with Kathryn following close behind. After the competition, both of you had your media conferences before you made your way back to the hotel. As both of you checked your phone, you saw the multiple notifications from various social medias.
“Dude, did you see what Ryanne posted?” Nicole asked, a look on her face that you couldn’t easily recognize.
“No, hold on,” you opened Instagram to see she had tagged you in multiple posts on her instagram story: starting off with a picture of all the guys wearing a jersey with your and Nicole’s name on it, a picture of all the guys watching warms ups intently, a video of Joel and Travis debating the name of a skill from Nicole’s routine (Travis was right), a video of Joel watching you do your beam routine and cheering you on right as you go for your dismount, and then a video of everyone cheering as you and Nicole as they announced the end of day 1.
…..
After falling asleep with Joel on FaceTime, you woke up to your 6am alarm to get ready for Day 2 of championship, Joel - who had told you he would wake up with you - was still sound asleep. Getting you and Nicole an apple from the lobby, you talked to a few of your competitors and a few fans before heading back to yours and Nicole’s room.
“Wake up, bitch, it’s Day 2 of Championships,” you said, jumping to lay next to Nicole on her bed.
“Leave me to die here, I don’t want to go. USAG can suck a homeless man’s dick,” she mumbled into the pillow.
“That’s truly something, wait til the media teams hear about that one,” you joked, only to get a glare sent your way.
“You know what? You can suck on one, too,” she responded, pulling the blanket over her head.
“Well at least, there's less competition,” to which she quickly peaked out of the blanket.
“Oh, you wish. We’re neck and neck this time, so we’ll see who gets bragging rights.”
“Well if you don’t get out of bed, then we’ll never know,” you said, to which she only sent a glare your way.
“Do we really have to get up and compete today? Do you think we could petition to reschedule?”
“I mean, I’m sure if we talked to people, we’d get a lot of signatures, but I don’t think it would go over well,” you said, grabbing your garment bag that held your leo for today, “I’m going to go get ready because I know if we end up talking to Joel and Nolan first, we won’t be ready in time.”
After you got ready, both you and Nicole got your pep talk from Nolan and Bee. On the way to the arena, both of you got a bunch of good luck messages - not just from your friends and family, but also from teammates and even some from most of the Stars roster. You had a feeling in your gut that today would be a good day.
…..
“Alright folks, Day 2 of Championships have been off to a great start and are about to come to a close. With Nicole Carter in first with a 57.605 All-Around score and Kathryn Davis in second with a 57.1, Cassie Riley in third with a 56.2, it comes down to the final rotations. y/n y/l/n is one of the last to go on floor today, who will need a score of at least a 13.5 to get first,” the announcer said.
“And compared to her average score, this will be easily attainable. If she scores at least a 14.5, she’ll be first overall for both days of competition. She already has a for sure spot at Trials, even when you don’t consider scores. As long as she is able to hit all elements of this routine, she’ll be fine,” another announcer said.
“Ok, you’re good, you just have to hit this routine and there’s no doubt you’ll make it to where you want to be. Deep breaths, Twinkle Toes,” Marcus said.
Walking up the platform to get up to the floor, you took your spot at the edge of the floor, ready to salute the judge, and get the last meet of championships out of the way. After anxiously waiting, the judge finally saluted. Entering the floor with a determined walk, you took your spot waiting for the familiar sound of your floor music to ring out.
That familiar feeling of doing the sport you loved, once again, rushed through your veins. Block everything out and complete the routine, that’s all you had to do. Going to your starting pose, the music started. Going through the familiar motions of your routine, you stuck your first tumbling pass. Then came the leaps and jump sequence and all that was in between, with the additional three tumbling passes.
You didn’t give yourself a chance to overthink about your routine, you knew that it wouldn’t benefit you in any way, but as you stepped off the floor you knew that you did what you could. As soon as you made it back to where Marcus and Nicole were sitting, you waited to see what your score was.
Joel and everyone watching at home watched as you sat down to see what your score was. He had this dopey grin gracing his features from the amount of pride he felt in that moment. He didn’t care what your score was, he knew you had put whatever you could out on the mat. He listened to Travis for a moment until the announcer started up again for scores and awards, “and y/n y/l/n pulled through with the score that she needed, a 14.9 on floor. She placed first in All-Around, Carter following right behind, and Davis in third. If all goes this well at trials, I’d say we have a lot of good representation for the Olympic Games.”
…..
After the meet and countless amount of interviews both you and Nicole were extremely worn out and had both passed out on the flight back. As you and Nicole stepped out of the terminal, you were met with the familiar faces of your friends and family. You smiled as you saw Bee for the first time in a few days and despite how tired you were, you couldn’t stop yourself from running to him.
He immediately caught you and did the cliche spin (the one you swore you would never do) before pulling you into a regular hug, “I’m so proud of you, babe. You have no idea.”
“Thank you. I surprisingly missed you,” you joked, laughing harder when Joel pulled you away slightly to catch a glimpse of your face.
“Wow, aren’t I glad I was blessed with such a nice girlfriend? It’s crazy.”
“Absolutely insane.”
“Preposterous.”
“Can the two of you shut the fuck up?” Kevin asked, coming over to give you a hug, “you did good out there, y/n/n. You also kept all your bones intact, I’m proud.”
“Shut the fuck up, Kev.”
“Okay, aside from you getting onto Kev and Bee, I missed you, too,” Karly said from beside Travis.
“I kinda did, too. You did amazing though, y/n/n. I’m proud,” Travis said.
“Thank you, thank you. All in a hard day's work,” you said, shrugging.
“Dude, you might want to go back to Beezer, he looks like a lost puppy watching you talk to us,” Travis pointed out, nodding in Joel’s direction who smiled when you caught his eye.
“Yeah, not a shocking development,” you said, before walking back in Joel’s direction, “hey, Bee.”
“Hey, honey,” he said, wrapping his arms around you again, “you ready to go home?”
“Yeah, of course,” you leaned up to kiss his cheek.
“Ew, guys. Get a room,” Kevin called out, fake gagging.

Nora has been so excited ever since you and Chris told her you were going to take her pumpkin picking. She probably didn't remember, but she went last year and when she was one, and let's just say she was out cold the whole time in her stroller. But hopefully this year was much different than the last.
After getting Nora in her orange cable knit sweater you got, you lead her down the stairs to the first floor where Chris was waiting for you both.
"Mama, I going to get the biggest pumptin ever." You looked down at her seeing her big smile. "Oh you are?" She nodded, giving you a uh huh. You chuckled at your little one as you reached the bottom step.
Chris was standing at the door with his white cable knit sweater, ready to go. "Ready ladies?" You and Nora nodded to his question. Chris muttered an okay before opening the door and going out.
Nora letter goof your hand and tell Chris how she was going to get the biggest pumpkin ever as he put her in her car seat. Chris didn't do anything but smile as the almost three year old went on about her pumpkin. She was literally his world.
*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*
After a 15 minute drive, you arrived at the patch. Nora was still going on about how big her pumpkin was going to be and when you pulled into the parking lot she gasped loudly.
"Oh my goodness, we're here, we're here!"
Chris parked the car and turned to look at her. "You ready princess?" Nora nodded hard, giggling uncontrollably. Chris turned to you shaking his head with a smile. "Okay, let's go."
"Yay!!!" Nora shouted.
You got out of the car and opened her door. After getting a excited Nora out of the car, you all began walking to the patch. Rows filled with pumpkin filled your eyes and Nora couldn't contain herself.
She began to run to every pumpkin touching them.
"Oh my gosh. Mama, daddy look at this one." She pointed at a pumpkin which was small, but huge to her. "It's the big pumptin I wanted." She said. You could hear Chris chuckling at her words. "Okay, let's get that one then."
Chris was about to pick it up, but Nora betted him to it. "Don't worry daddy, I a big girl." She picked up her pumpkin like it was nothing and began to walk away. Before you and followed her, you turned to him giving him wide eyes. "We have a strong daughter." Chris smiled, leaning over to kiss your temple. "She gets it from you, love.
*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*
After you and Chris got your pumpkin, as well as one for dodger, you did a hayride and got some pumpkin treats for the house, and you were on your way home.
Nora of course couldn't get over her pumpkin. It's crazy how something so small made her so happy. It was just like her goldfish.
As you pulled into the driveway, Chris turned off the car before turning to little Nora. "Are you ready to carve your pumpkin bub?" Nora smiled at him, "Yes!"
Chris looked over at you and smiled. "Alright, let's do this."
You all got out of the car and made your way inside. Dodger greeted you all and of course Nora told him about her great big pumpkin.
"Dodge, I got the biggest pumptin ever. And I picked it all by myself." She sat her pumpkin on the ground in front of him. "See?"
Dodger started sniffing it, making sure it posed no danger. "Well me and mommy are going to carve it. We got you a pumptin too." She picked up her pumpkin and brought it over to the dining room table where you and Chris were waiting for her. "I ready."
*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*✭˚・゚✧*・゚*
Lots of carving, drinking pumpkin spice hot chocolate, and eating goldfish, all of your pumpkin were done. It wasn't the fanciest pumpkins ever, but they were perfect. Nora especially loved them.
"Our pumptins look so nice." Nora's hands were clasped together as she looked at all of your pumpkins with a smile so big.
"Should we go put them outside?" You asked her. She turned to you and Chris. "Yeah, and we put tandles (candles) in them?" Chris nodded, "yes we will."
Nora pushed her brown curls out of her eyes with a giggle. "Alright, let go." She tottered to the front door and you, Chris, and dodger followed her with the pumpkins.
The cool autumn breeze hit your face as soon as you walked out of the front door. The sky was painted light pink as the sun was going down behind the earth. You sat the pumpkins in your hands down onto the steps and Chris did the same on the other side of the steps.
"Okay let's light it up, light it up." You chuckled softly. "Okay Nora, okay."
Chris pulled a lighter out of his pocket and lit the candle that was placed inside the pumpkin. As soon as he finished Nora gasped like she just saw the greatest thing in the world.
"Oh it's so cool." Chris lit every single one and then you both stepped back to appreciate your hard work.
"What do you think Nora? We did a good job?" Chris looked down at Nora who was still smiling. "Yeah we did an amazing job daddy. Let's do this again tomorrow." You and Chris laughed at her comment.
"Don't worry Nora, tomorrow we're going to do something very fun."

He's Back-Jon Moxley
Tumblr media
You and Jon hadn't spoken in a little over a month. Ever since the argument you two had, he went on sabbatical. Wasn't showing up to work. You knew Seth or Roman has to know where he was, but they never told you.
They made an announcement last week that he would be here today, and you couldn't make up your mind on if you want to ignore him, or confront him.
"He's here." Seth tells you as your packing away your gear.
"And?" You question him as he leans up against the door frame.
"A month is a long time, Y/N." Seth says, crossing his arms over his chest. "He wants to speak with you."
"Then he knows where to find me." You tell him while pulling your suitcase off of the table, and making your way to the parking lot.
"Angel." You freeze when you hear the nickname he once had for you. You shut your trunk before turning around to face him.
"Jon." You state, and he takes a step forward to you. "It's late, and I had a long match so I'm heading home."
"I just need five minutes, please." He says, his blue eyes shining.
"You were gone for a month. You can handle one night." You tell him before walking around to your driver seat door. You go to open it when he shuts it, trapping you in between the car and him. "Mox, please."
"Five minutes is all I'm asking for. If you still hate me after that then I'll leave you alone." He says, but you can't look in his eyes. The tears build up in your eyes, and you shake your head. "I have a lot to explain to you."
"I can't do this tonight, Jon. I'll say the wrong thing. I'll scream, cry, probably shove you if you don't leave me alone." You tell him, and he just sighs.
"Fine." He says, and begins to walk away. "By the way, my mother is dead. Thought you'd wanna know."
You've never felt that much guilt. "Jon, wait." You call after him.
"That's why I was gone. I shut everyone out, not just you. Happy now?" He asks, tears in his eyes. "I told you I needed five fucking minutes." He says, shaking his head, and walking away.
You follow him until you catch his wrist. "I'm so sorry." You tell him, and now that you look at him, his eyes full of tears.
"I came back because I need you. I asked Seth and Roman not to say anything. Please dont take it out on them." He begs you, and you wrap your arms around his waist, pulling him close to you. "Baby, I don't know what to do without her."
"Come on, let's get you home, yeah?" You ask him, and he nods, following you to your car. The whole drive there was silent.
When you enter the house and into your bedroom, that's when you speak. "I'm so sorry Mox. I'm a horrible person. I can't imagine how you're feeling right now." You tell him as he sat at the edge of the bed, his head in his hands.
"You didn't know. Don't be sorry baby." He whispers, and you walk to your drawers to find something to sleep in. "I shouldn't have left after that argument. I'm sorry."
"Jon, you weren't in the right head space. It's okay." You tell him, peeling off your leggings, and bra to put on one of his shirts to sleep in.
"You still sleep in my shirt?" He asks, surprised.
"Uh, yeah." You say, looking down at your feet. You hear Jon stand up, and walk over to you. He tilts your chin up to look at him. His blue eyes so entrancing. "What?"
"You know I love you, right?" He asks you, and you feel your lip tremble at the words. "I always have, always will."
You shove your face into his chest, and he wraps his arms around you. "I wanted to tell you that night, but everything just went wrong."
"It's okay. I love you, too." You finally admit to him, and he squeezes you tight.
"You know one of the last things my mother told me was to get home, and make sure you knew that." He says with a choked laugh.
"I miss her. She always so kind to me. Complete opposite of you." You joke, and Jon pinches your hip causing you to laugh. "I missed you."
"I know Angel, I missed you, too." He whispers, kissing the top of your head. "I wanted to turn to alcohol so bad, but instead I drove to you."
"I'm proud of you." You tell him, and he squeezes you even tighter.
"Thank you baby." He tells you as you pull away from him. "I'm going to take a quick shower. Then I'll join you in bed, okay?"
"Sounds good." You tell him, and he places a kiss to your forehead before grabbing a pair of boxers, and going into the bathroom.
You lay there in the dark. The only light in the room coming from the TV. You feel the bed dip moments later, and soon enough Jon's arms are wrapped around you. "You're all I've got now." He whispers to you, ans you turn around in his arms.
"So, we're okay?" You ask him, and he nods. "Are you going to be okay?"
"In time, yes. Just don't leave me, please. I need you. So fuckin' bad." He begs you.
"You've got me, Mox." You whisper, and he nudges his nose with yours before placing his lips on yours. He kisses you slowly, and you can literally feel the emotion in it.
You will not be the one to pull away first. He needs you, and however that may be, you will give yourself to him. The kiss gets heavy quick, and he pulls your body closer to him.
His lips leave your mouth, and trail down your jaw to your throat. "Do what you need to do baby. I'm right here." You tell him when he hesitates to continue.
"Are you sure?" He asks you, and you nod. "I need you, badly."
"Go ahead baby." You tell him, and he kisses his way back up to your lips before hovering over you. He kisses down the other side of your neck, sucking and biting. "Fuck I've missed you."
"Yeah?" He asks as he grinds himself down onto you.
"Yeah." You breathe out, and he takes yoir nipple in his mouth. "My fingers don't satisfy me the way you do."
He looks into your eyes when you say that, his tongue swirling your nub. He pops off of it with a smirk. "Is that so?" He asks, and you nod. "Need me to fill you up baby?"
"Please." You groan, and he pulls down your panties along with his boxers. He drags himself up and down, tapping the head of his cock onto your clit. "Daddy, please."
He slowly pushes into you, stretching you open. "So tight." He groans, and continues to push himself into you. Your nails are already digging into his back. He slowly pulls back out, thrusting into you again. "You okay pretty girl?"
"I'm good." You tell him with a smile. His hands slide down your thighs, kneading into them as he rocks into you slowly. "Don't hold back on me. Use me."
He brings his thumb down to your clit, rubbing it slowly. Your body begins to shake, and he watches you like a hawk. "That's it baby." He groans, and bends himself down to press his lips to yours, his thumb not leaving your clit.
"J-jon." You moan into his mouth, and he begins to pick up the pace of his thrusts. He slides his arms underneath yours, holding your head. He bites down on your neck again, and you wrap your legs around his waist. "Feels so g-good."
"Daddy always know how to treat his girl. Doesn't he?" He asks you, and you nod at him. "You know better then that. Use your fuckin' words."
"Yes daddy." You choke out, and he smirks at you before thrusting into you harder. Your nails dragging down his back.
"Harder." He tells you, and you look into his eyes. "Make it hurt, please." He begs. You dig your nails deeper into his skin, and he groans, speeding up even more. "Fuck, I love you so much."
"I love you." You tell him, and he hikes one of your legs up on his shoulders to go even deeper. "Fuck."
"You like me being buried deep inside you, don't you? Missed it?" He asks you.
"So much." You answer him, and he brings his fingers back down to your clit, rubbing in fast tight circles. "I'm not going to last."
"Cum baby. All over me, please." He begs, and moves your leg back around his waist. "Look at me."
You open your eyes, and he kisses you slowly. "Show me how bad you've missed me." He mumbles against your lips, and he begins to hit that one specific spot. You start screaming out his name until your orgasm hits you like a ton of bricks.
"P-please cum inside me." You tell Jon who nods at you. His own pace slowing down until you feel his hot spurts of cum fill your insides. He moans your name and then collapses on top of you.
You both regain your breathing, and you place a kiss to the top of his forehead. "Thank you, Angel. I needed that. Needed you."
"I'm always here." You tell him, and he lifts his head up to press a kiss to your lips.
"Good. Let's get you cleaned up, baby." He says before carrying you to the bathroom.

Kooky Pogues
Blurb: Your two friend groups don't really get along...until they do
*I'm literally only tagging this as Rafe since it mostly focuses on Rafe but it does involve a good chunk of the others so yeah*
Word Count: 5,414
Warnings: semi-canon Rafe, mentions of cocaine, mentions of drinking, mentions of abuse if I remember correctly, swearing, grammar/spelling mistakes, I think that's it
Little notes real quick:
-we're pretending gold is not a thing here, Peterkin is still alive and has not been murdered, and Sarah didn't cheat on Topper.
-I'm from Wisconsin so I chose Wisconsin cause I know Wisconsin and I don't have to really do research on it so I'm sorry if you hate Wisconsin. Believe me, I do too sometimes.
-And last is this came about cause I feel like if the kooks and pogues didn't hate each other, they would be like that one group of friends in high school that everyone just knows. They would be THAT group.
I was originally going to do something like this as a Christmas blurb where everyone was friends and they and the reader all go get a tree and decorate and shit but that obviously never got posted.
Lowkey kind of want to write more things about them as an entire group of friends though.
Anyway, enjoy :)
~~~~~
You moved to Outer Banks from Wisconsin your freshman year of high school and it was...different to say the least.
The weather was the main thing.
In all your entire sixteen years on earth, you had never experienced a hurricane. Snowstorms were common in Wisconsin so those you didn’t mind, minus the shoveling that your parents had you doing afterward, and you were still a little iffy on tornadoes considering you experienced maybe three in your whole life, only one hitting the town you grew up in and the other two just being warnings.
Hurricanes though were an entirely different category and it was safe to say that you were freaking out because you had never personally experienced one yourself.
And here was the entire town of Kildare knowing what to do and being pretty calm about it.
So, naturally, you stuck out like a sore thumb when you were in the store and trying to figure out what you would need.
It just so happened that three boys would be in the same aisle as you and one of them would be way too observant for their own good.
“She looks confused,” Kelce said from his place next to Rafe who was currently figuring out what soup he wanted.
Rafe and Topper glanced over to see who he was referring to and saw you, scanning shelves as you fiddled with a hair tie on your wrist.
Rafe shrugged, turning back to look at the soups. “Or she’s just a little nervous about Agatha. Believe it or not Kelce, I’m pretty sure some people still get nervous when it comes to storms.”
“I don’t know. I don’t think I recognize her.” Kelce squinted, trying to get a good look at your face which caused Topper to sigh.
“Maybe she’s a touron and now she’s stuck here because of the storm.”
Kelce looked at his two best friends. “Well, the least we can do is help her.” And then he began walking towards you.
Rafe and Topper looked at each other before making their way after their friend.
“Need some help?”
You jumped slightly at the voice and whipped your head to see three boys standing beside you. You placed a hand over your heart and closed your eyes. “Sorry. You startled me.”
“No, I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have crept up on you like that.” He apologized before repeating his question. “Do you need some help?”
You hesitated before nodding. “Yeah. I’m not exactly from around here. I’ve never really dealt with a storm like this before.”
“Where are you from?” Topper asked.
“Wisconsin.”
It’d be a lie if they said they weren’t a little taken aback by your answer, expecting it to be a state at least somewhat nearby. Not necessarily in hurricane territory but certainly somewhere closer to Outer Banks. Not a state from up north.
“Wow, okay. So this must be different for you.”
You nodded in response and Kelce smiled. “No worries. You’ve got three of the best people here to help you out.”
You chuckled before introducing yourself. “I’m Y/N.”
“I’m Kelce, that’s Topper and that one’s Rafe.” He pointed to each one who did a little wave.
Your smile didn't falter as the names of the three boys rang a bell in your brain.
You were warned about those three when you met the pogues a couple of weeks ago.
“Trust us, Y/N. They look nice but that’s just cause of their nice ass clothes. They’re the spawns of Satan.” John B had told you at The Wreck after school that day.
He, JJ, and Pope met you at school earlier that day and had told you that you needed to meet the other member of the group, Kie, and that you would love her.
Kie came around with some food and she rolled her eyes at the boys before turning to look at you. “They’re not the spawns of Satan per se. They just act like spoiled brats and like they’re God’s gift to everyone.”
“No. They’re spawns of Satan.” JJ sided with his best friend, grabbing a couple of french fries and shoving them into his mouth.
“No, JJ, you’re the spawn of Satan.”
“The point is,” Pope interrupted before an argument could break out, “not exactly the best people. Specifically Rafe.”
But now, there you were, standing with the three boys you were warned about as they helped you grab things that would prove useful in the storm. They even helped you load everything into your car.
“Thank you, guys. I probably would’ve been stuck in there for way longer than necessary if you three didn’t help me.” You smiled as Topper closed the trunk to your car.
Rafe shrugged. “No problem. You better hurry back home though. Don’t want you getting caught in Agatha.”
You looked towards the sky and grimaced at the darkness before saying thanks once more as Kelce opened your door and you climbed in, waving goodbye to the boys as they waved back.
Before you could pull out of your parking spot, Topper was holding his phone screen up, his Snapchat on display. You quickly grabbed your phone and typed in his snap username before adding him and he added you back. “Let me know when you get home or I’ll be watching the news like an old man for the next week.”
You shot him a thumbs up before reversing out of the parking space and driving away.
“She’s sweet,” Rafe commented as they watched your drive out of the parking lot.
The other two nodded in agreement before heading to Kelce’s car, Rafe and Kelce both telling Top to send them your username.
You thought the same thing about the three kook boys because, in your mind, if they thought they were so high and mighty of themselves, they wouldn’t have helped you out the way they did.
Now here you were, two and a half years later and still friends with two groups that hated each other. Both groups were incredibly confused at the fact that you were friends with the other and neither group liked the idea of sharing you with the other but you told them that they wouldn’t have to mingle with each other.
As much as you wanted to be able to hang out with all your friends at once, you knew that wouldn’t happen without a fight breaking out and you didn’t want to deal with that.
The only issue you had with your friends was Rafe and his relationship with coke, knowing damn well that him being high didn’t help anything in the least when it came to the pogues, especially JJ.
You had learned that at a party when Sarah had found you and informed you that JJ seemed off and he wasn’t talking to anyone. You decided that you would try to talk to the blonde and excused yourself from the kook boys, telling them you wouldn’t be long, before following Sarah to where the pogues were.
Sure enough, there was a lively conversation going around but JJ wasn’t really participating, just nursing a beer as he stared at the sand underneath his boots.
You sat down next to him and bumped your shoulder against his, causing him to glance at you and send him a small smile. “What’s up, J?”
“Nothing.” He shrugged and you nodded.
“You sure?”
JJ looked at you and noticed the concern in your eyes, sighing as he turned to face you. “It’s nothing I can’t handle, Y/N/N.”
You frowned at his answer, not liking what that could mean. “JJ, are you in trouble?”
“See this is where the line gets blurry for us cause you and I have different definitions of trouble.” JJ took a sip of his beer as you stared at him. It didn’t take long for him to break underneath your gaze. “It’s just my dad. Like I said, nothing I can’t handle.” He mumbled, finishing off his drink.
You immediately placed your cup on the ground and wrapped your arms around the blonde in front of you. He placed his head on your shoulder and you heard him sniffle. “Wanna go somewhere away from here and talk, bud?” You felt him nod and you whispered an ‘okay’ before unwrapping your arms from around him and leading him away from the party and farther down the boneyard.
You spent the next hour listening to JJ before wiping his tears and pulling him in for another hug, rubbing his back as you did.
And that was when Kelce, Topper, and Rafe had decided to go look for you. Rafe had had a line or two during the time you were with JJ and was already slightly on edge, thinking that maybe you got swept up with some touron on your way back and they were getting a little too handsy without your consent, when he spotted you holding JJ.
Before anyone could stop the oldest Cameron, he was storming over to you two, not amused with the fact that he, Kelce, and Topper were getting gypped out of their Y/N time. After all, it was their turn to have you for most of the night since the pogues had you the entire day yesterday.
“Alright, Maybank, you’ve taken up enough of her time!” He hollered, Kelce and Topper behind him just in case they needed to be there to drag their friend off of the younger boy.
JJ, however, misread this action as a threat when he turned to look at Rafe and he immediately went into defense mood, standing up as he let go of you and put on his tough-guy act.
You stood up and stepped between Rafe and JJ to serve as a barrier of some sort to make sure no fists would fly.
“Rafe, I promise that I’ll be back soon but I gotta help JJ with something first.” You told him gently, suddenly aware of how quickly this situation could escalate considering this was a party and there was definitely some alcohol consumed by both boys.
“What? Do I gotta get hit by my dad too so I can have some time with you?” Rafe spat.
Your hand came to your mouth as your eyes widened. You couldn’t believe Rafe would say that.
JJ stared at Rafe as he kissed his teeth before turning to look at you. “I don’t think you should be hanging out with Rafe for the rest of the night, Y/N. He’s high and he’s enough of an asshat when he’s sober so god only knows what the hell is going to go down when he’s higher than a damn kite. I don’t want to risk you being around that.”
Your gaze shifted to Rafe and saw his expression flicker from anger to hurt for a second before shifting back to anger. “Maybe she shouldn’t hang out with you ever again JJ considering all the trouble you get into. I don’t want to turn on my tv one day to find out one of my best friends is dead in a ditch because you decided to do something stupid and drag her along.”
JJ laughed. “Says the guy who is friends with Barry, the most dangerous drug dealer in town. You put her life at risk every time you screw him over.”
You sighed and rubbed your temples. “Please stop.” The two arguing boys looked over at you as Topper and Kelce kept observing the situation. “JJ, We’ll talk more tomorrow. I’m going to take Rafe home.”
JJ looked between you and Rafe before sighing, running one of his hands through his hair before nodding. “Yeah. Alright. Be safe and text me when you get home so I know you made it back safely.”
“Yeah. Of course.” You wrapped your arms around his neck and his went around your waist for your goodbye hug. “Everything's going to work out in the end, mkay?” You whispered. He nodded, squeezing you a little before letting go. You turned towards Rafe and let out a breath.”Let's get you home, Cameron.”
You held out your hand for the keys to his truck as you, Rafe, Kelce, and Topper all made your way back to where the cars had been parked. “Do you two need a lift back as well?” You asked Kelce and Topper, trying to tell them that you and Rafe needed to have a one on one conversation.
And by some miracle, Kelce seemed to pick up on that because he immediately turned Topper into the direction of the beer pong table and went “Hey, isn’t that Chrissy. I still owe her a beer pong match.” And ushered the slightly confused blonde towards the direction of this person named Chrissy.
You walked to Rafe’s truck and climbed into the driver’s seat as he climbed into the passenger, both of you feeling strange sitting in the seats the other would usually sit in.
You weren’t going to lie, you were a little scared to drive Rafe’s truck considering your car was a 2002 Chevrolet Prizm and, let’s be real, there is quite the size difference between a truck and a little old car like that, but you would rather drive a vehicle you weren’t exactly used to than let Rafe drive while under the influence.
You started the car and carefully pulled onto the street, making your way towards your house since your family was on a weekend trip on the mainland, one that you politely declined because you did not want to share a hotel room with your two younger siblings and your parents, and you especially did not want to either share a bed with your siblings or sleep on one of the chairs like you had done countless times before.
About ten minutes into the twenty-minute drive, you heard Rafe mumble something.
“I’m sorry?” You asked, glancing over at him.
“I said you missed the turn.” He repeated, slightly louder this time and referring to the road you needed to get to Tanneyhill.
“I was thinking we could stay at mine tonight, bud.”
Rafe tapped his finger against his thigh as he nodded, becoming nervous at how quiet the ride had been thus far and how you hadn’t even yelled at him on his behavior towards JJ. At how he completely ruined your night just because you were checking up on one of your friends like you always did.
You were there for Topper and Sarah both when they broke up, JJ when things got bad with his dad, Kie when she felt so overwhelmed with the kook life and the expectations, John B with DCS, Pope while he was stressing about his scholarship, Kelce when he felt like he wasn’t good enough and, of course, Rafe with his drug habit.
You should be pissed at him right now for getting mad at you helping out a friend.
You were five minutes away from your house that sat on the edge of the Cut when the silence became too much for Rafe and he snapped. “Can you just fucking yell at me already and get it over with!”
You jumped slightly at the sudden outburst before glancing over at him. “Why would I yell at you?”
You had yet to yell at any of your friends, even when they were being childish and very anti-pogue or anti-kook.
“Because we should still be at the boneyard, dancing, getting drunk and whatnot but instead you’re here, driving me back to your house because JJ and I had a spat.”
You shrugged. “Am I upset that you dragged me away from a serious conversation with J? Of course. But if you think I’m going to yell at you for it, then you really must be high.”
“I’m not that high. JJ was being dramatic back there. I had two lines, that’s it. Two lines barely does anything for me anymore.” He muttered.
You pulled into your driveway and parked his truck next to your car before turning off the engine, turning to face Rafe. “Why did you say that, Rafe?”
A confused look crossed his face. “Cause it doesn’t…” He replied slowly, thinking you were talking about his comment about the lines.
“No. Why did you say, in front of JJ, that thing about having to have your dad hit you too in order to get some time with me?” Rafe’s gaze dropped to the floor and he fiddled with his fingers, shrugging in response. “You do know, Rafe. It wasn’t just to get under his skin this time.” Your voice was soft as you spoke, scared that anything louder would spook him and put him on defense. “What’s wrong, bud?”
“It’s nothing.”
“It’s not nothing if it’s bothering you.” You unbuckled your seatbelt and turned your entire body to face him.
He sighed. “I just feel like every time I need to talk to you about something that happened with my dad, something else always comes up with JJ and his dad that involves you having to go patch him up or something. I’ve maybe talked to you twice about something that went down with dad.” He whispered.
“Rafe, just because I go to help JJ, doesn’t mean you can’t text me to come over after and talk to me about your problems.” You explained.
“I just don’t want you to get overwhelmed with everything. I feel like everyone goes to you for their issues and I don't want to add on to whatever stress you're already dealing with."
You sat there in silence for a few seconds.
"Is that why you turn to coke? You feel like you can't talk about your problems to anyone or you feel like a burden if you try to?"
Rafe shrugged. "I don't really know. It's an escape from everything, I guess."
“Oh, Rafe,” You leaned over his center console and wrapped your arms around him.
That’s all it took for Rafe to lose any composure he had, breaking down and letting out everything he had bottled up right there in your driveway.
You sat there in his truck, stretched over his center console as you hugged him, listening to him as he spoke through his sobs, your hand rubbing his back in soothing circles.
"I wish I wasn't such a fuck-up." He sniffed when he had finished.
"You're not a fuck-up, Rafe."
"Yes, I am."
"Stop talking about yourself like that, Rafe. I hate it when you put yourself down.”
“Sorry,” He mumbled, “I just wish I was better. Is that better? I wish I was more like Sarah. I wish I was the son dad wanted."
You pulled away from him. "Everyone has their flaws, bud. You can always get help and I'll always be here for you through the ups and the downs. You know that right?" Rafe nodded. “Feel a little better?”
“Yeah.”
You smiled at him before opening your door and hopping out. “Let’s get you to bed then.”
Rafe followed your actions and as he stood behind you, waiting for you to unlock the front door, he spoke so quietly you almost didn’t hear him.
“Can you come with me tomorrow? To get help?” He was staring at the ground, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
You looked back at him as you opened the door. “Absolutely.”
****
You stood outside with Topper and Kelce, nervously fiddling with the ring you had with your finger as you waited for Rafe.
Three months had passed since he entered rehab and you had visited him a couple of times during his stay but not as often as you had liked considering you still had school and work.
Your head whipped up when you heard footsteps approaching your small group and you grinned when you saw Rafe
You let Topper and Kelce greet him first as you took in the small amount of stubble on his face and his slightly longer hair. Rafe pulled away from the two boys before walking over to you and engulfing you in a hug. You immediately reciprocated the action, smiling as you did. “You look pretty damn good, bud.” You told him. “I feel pretty damn good.” He answered back, pulling away as he held you an arm’s length away. “Any girls or guys I should know about that have magically appeared in these past three months?” You laughed as you shook your head. “No. No girls or guys you need to worry about.”
Rafe made a noise of approval before turning to face the entire group. “Just so we're clear… I call shotgun.”
You and Kelce both groaned as you all walked to Topper's car, Rafe grinning as he yanked open the passenger door. As you buckled in, Topper started the car. “Alright. What are we doing so I know where I'm going?” “As much as I would love to join you, I promised my parents I would watch the twins while they went out shopping for my birthday present.” You stated. Kelce made a face. “Shouldn't they go with your parents to get you a gift?” “Here's the thing about my brother and sister, they get distracted easily and have to constantly be reminded by my parents that they are not here for them, so mom and dad have found it easier to leave them at home with me and just find a gift that they can just say is from everyone.” You explained as Topper headed towards your house. Rafe shrugged. “Fine by us. That leaves us alone to discuss your gift.” He smirked as he looked back at you. You rolled your eyes. “You don't have to get me anything.”
“We know but we want to.” Topper’s eyes met yours through the rearview mirror. “Fine but if I end up spending my birthday in the hospital, you three are paying the bill.”
Kelce, Rafe, and Topper all saluted you, causing you to roll your eyes once more before the conversation turned to catching Rafe up on everything that had happened while he was gone.
The three boys all waved goodbye to you before waving to the twins who were looking out the window.
“So where are we going? The mall? That little boutique she likes?” Topper reversed out of the driveway before glancing at his two friends. “TanneyhillWheezie. I need to grab my wallet and I'm hoping Sarah's there.”
Kelce and Topper stared at the older boy in shock, never having heard those words come out of Rafe's mouth before. Kelce leaned forward and placed the back of his hand on Rates forehead. “You feeling okay, man?”
Rafe swatted his hand away. “Just drive to Tanneyhill.”
Topper did as he was told, driving the route he knew all too well. Rafe was out of the car before Topper had fully stopped, heading straight into the extravagant house and up the stairs. He stopped in front of Wheezie's door and knocked on it, only for it to open seconds later. “Hey,” He greeted. Wheezie's face lit up at the sight of her brother and she tackled him in a hug, causing him to stumble a little. “Damn, Wheezie. Did you join the football team while I was gone?” he laughed, wrapping his arms around her. “Did you get my letters?” She queried, looking up at him. He nodded. “All thirty-six and a half of them.”
“I sent you thirty-seven.”
“Didn't anybody tell you that if you send someone a letter and it only fills half the page, it only counts as half?” Wheezie rolled her eyes. “Whatever. The main thing is your back and now I don't have to write letters anymore. I can just text you.”
Rafe laughed as he let go of her. “Fair enough. how are you? Has dad been giving you a hard time?” he dropped his voice down, not knowing where his dad was. “Not really. He didn't like it when I asked about you though. I once asked if we could visit you and you would've thought I told him I was pregnant and dropping out of school.” Wheezie casted her gaze down to the floor. “I had to have Topper or Kelce send out the letters for me because dad ripped up the first one I wrote you. It was like he wanted to wash you from everyone's memory. He even yelled at Sarah when she told him that it was pretty fucked up to rip up the letter when I was just trying to stay in touch with you through a hard time.”
“I'm sorry, Wheeze.”
She shrugged. “It’s fine. At least you’re back.”
Rafe gave her a small smile. “Is Sarah home or out?”
“Her room. Kie’s over though.”
“Thanks. I’ll catch up with you later. We’ll watch a movie or play a game or something.”
His half-sister nodded before heading back into her room, closing the door behind her.
“That was the cutest thing ever. She almost makes me wish I had a little sister. Almost.” Topper said from behind Rafe, causing him to jump a little.
He pushed past his two friends to head towards his sister’s room, knocking on the doorframe as he peeked in.
Sarah and Kie both looked towards the door from whatever show they were watching and Sarah gave him a smile. “Howdy, howdy. You’re back.”
“Yeah and we all need to talk. That means your boyfriend and his friends too.”
“Cutting straight to the point, I see. Why do we all need to talk?” Sarah questioned.
“Because it involves Y/N and her birthday.”
“We already got her a gift,” Kie stated, turning her attention back to the tv.
“That’s great and all but I think she’d like to have all her friends together on her actual birthday than have to spend it splitting the time between her friends cause she’s scared they’re going to turn it into a battle of who’s the better friend group.” Rafe looked between the two girls.
“Rafe, buddy, I love you and all but what the hell is bringing JJ, John B, and Pope over going to do? It’s going to end horribly.” Kelce spoke up.
“We’re all going to have a nice little chat and sort out our differences even if it takes all night and watching a movie with Wheezie.”
Kie sighed. “She did once tell me it’d be nice if she could hang out with everyone at once, she just doesn’t want to make things worse between the two groups.”
Sarah picked up her phone. “I’ll call John B and tell him I need help moving something and that he should bring Pope and JJ to help."
Within twenty minutes, three sets of footsteps were sounding throughout the house as the three boys thundered up the stairs.
"Alright, we better be getting lunch for doing this." JJ stopped in his tracks when he saw the three kook boys. "And I'll be leaving now. I'll just have a peanut butter sandwich for lunch instead." He said, turning around to leave.
"Oh no, you're not. You three are going to join this therapy session whether you guys like it or not." Sarah stared at them as she stood up, beckoning them inside.
"I would just like to point out that any 'therapy session' with him, usually ends with fists." John B pointed towards Rafe.
"Believe it or not, Rafe suggested this," Sarah informed her boyfriend.
"And that's not the least bit suspicious to you."
"If you three want to do something nice for Y/N/N this year for her birthday, you'll sit your asses down and participate." Kie glared at her three friends. The pogues exchanged looks and Kie snapped. "Sit!"
"Sitting." JJ flopped onto the desk chair as Pope and John B filed in, Sarah closing the door behind them.
***
A week later, you waited for your parents by the door, your younger siblings next to you as you three slowly grew hungrier waiting for your parents to make sure they had everything they needed.
"By the time you two are done, the day's going to end and we'll have to wait until next year to celebrate Y/N's birthday," Sammy called out.
"Yeah. And then you'll need to have two cakes. One for her seventeenth birthday and one for her eighteenth." Alex added.
You rolled your eyes but couldn't help complaining yourself. "Seriously. Can we go? You said that if we didn't leave now then everything would go to shit and that was ten minutes ago!"
"Okay, okay!" Your dad and mom came rushing out and you all exited the house. "I thought I raised you three to have some patience."
"Well, when you say 'don't have any snacks between now and dinner' and your kids listen for once, your children aren't going to have a lot of patience." You patted his back before taking your spot in between the twins in the backseat.
As you drove to The Wreck, you continued asking what the surprise was.
"Is the family visiting from Wisconsin?"
Your mom shook her head. "Just wait and see."
Alex leaned over. "Trust me when I say that you wouldn't guess it in a million years." Your brother grinned.
"Welp, here's high hopes but something I wouldn't guess in a million years, did you get me a Ferrari?"
"Hell no. I'll get a Ferrari before you do." Your dad shot at you as your family pulled into the parking lot of The Wreck.
You followed your family inside, Mr.Carrera wishing you a happy birthday as you passed him, and just about passed out from what you saw.
Gathered around the table, laughing and chatting as if they were all old friends, were your two friend groups.
"Oh my God. I think I'm hallucinating. Dad, you might have to take me to the hospital."
"There she is! The birthday girl. Welcome to the seventeen club!" JJ hollered.
You rolled your eyes as you walked over, your family following as you went around and hugged everyone. "What the hell got all of you to hold hands and have a civil conversation?"
"You'd be surprised how therapeutic hitting someone with a pillow can be," Pope commented.
"You will also be surprised at how quickly a bunch of teenagers will bond together to make sure a thirteen-year-old doesn't win monopoly," Kelce added.
Your brows furrowed in confusion and Topper smiled. "The point is, we all have reconciled and you do not have to worry about someone bouncing someone's head off a wall on purpose."
You nodded slowly before taking a seat in between Pope and Sarah. "I think I've entered an alternate universe."
"Trust me, you haven't." Mr.Carrera reassured you as he brought over the cake.
The group sang happy birthday and you smiled before blowing out the candles, your dad and Mr.Carrera beginning to slice the cake after the candles were removed.
"Alright, so who was the mastermind? It has to be one of the reasonable ones." You took your plate from your dad as you looked around the group, grabbing a fork. "Unless it was one of these two which I wouldn't doubt if they managed to lock you all in a pantry or something one day." You motioned to your brother and sister with your fork.
"Actually, it was Rafe."
You looked at Kie before turning your attention to the guy across from you who shrugged. "It was nothing."
You shook your head. "Well, I'm just going to say it right now, don’t be offended if I don't love your gifts cause all of you together takes the cake for the best gift."
"Wow. Cheesy much." John B teased.
You went to respond but heard a whistle cause the whole group to turn towards the noise. Your mom stood with a camera in her hands, a smile plastered on her face.
"Alright. All of you together for a picture now because two groups have become one and this must be documented or no one will believe it."
You all moved around slightly so everyone could be seen and smiled, listening to the click of the camera that told you the photo was taken.
You leaned across the table towards Rafe. "Thank you."
"No. Thank you."
Road Trip (JJ Maybank X Reader)
Tumblr media
  so this was requested a while ago by @afterglows7b-tch13.I started it and its just been vibing in my google docs ever since so I decided to publish it.If you guys like it I might make a part two :)
All you wanted was to have a nice,relaxing sunday morning.But of course there was never a dull or relaxing moment in your life.You had been trying to have an aesthetically pleasing morning as you sipped your coffee by your window as the sunlight peaked through the blinds.But then JJ walked in.You could tell by the big grin on his face and the backpack hanging from his shoulders that he wanted to do something stupid.He frowned once he saw you enjoying your morning. “I wanted to wake you up.”He sounded disappointed as he placed his cheap speaker down on the counter.
You sighed,sipping your coffee. “What do you want,J?Its seven in the morning.”You grumbled.He giggled,jumping up and down. “Ok,ok,ok.So you know how you’ve always wanted to go to the White Mountains?”He asked.You shook your head. “No,I dont think i’ve ever said that.”You replied.He sighed,scratching the back of his head. “Ok,well I’ve always wanted to go and then I realized we have literally nothing to do ever so why dont we go to the mainland and take my cousin’s truck and drive to New Hampshire?”He explained his idea.You looked up at him.
“Baby,as much as id love to,we cant go to the White Mountains.”You watched as his smile faltered. “Why?”He asked,squatting on the ground in front of you.You ran your fingers through his hair. “How are we gonna get to the mainland?”You asked.He leaned his elbows on your knees,gazing up at you. “A ferry.”He answered.You looked around your messy kitchen. “Right now?”You asked.He hummed,arms going around your waist.You couldnt say no to him.
You huffed,slowly standing up.He stood up as well,looking at you and waiting for you to say something. “Okay.Alright.Let me shower and get my shit together.”You kissed him quickly before heading to your bathroom.He made it his job to go into your bedroom and into your dresser.He knew where you kept all of your things by now.He couldnt help staring at your bed and smirking at all the memories.He remembered all the way back to the first time he had fucked you on your bed.It had been after he had walked you home.
He remembered asking if your parents were home and you had simply laughed and reminded him that your parents were dead.He had been embarrassed of course but it didnt matter when his head was between your thighs and your fingers tugged at his hair.He heard your shower turn on,snapping him back into reality.He grabbed a few of your bras and panties before putting them at the bottom of your bag as neatly as possible.He grabbed eight of your crop tops,a few normal t shirts and a baggy long sleeve.
He went into your pants drawer to grab you a few pairs of shorts,a pair of jeans and socks.He forced the bag to zip shut,opening the next pocket.He thought about things you might need.He reached under your bed to grab you a handful of pads and tampons,pushing in a bottle of ibuprofen.He sat down on the bed,waiting for you to get out of the shower.He had told the others already that you two would be gone for a while and hadnt even bothered telling his dad.You walked into your room,your wet hair in a bun and a towel wrapped around your body.He watched as the towel dropped and you opened your dresser,eyebrows furrowing at your lack of clothes.
“I packed your bag,baby.”He grinned.You nodded,grabbing one of the two bras left.You settled on a sportsbra,pulling it over your head and down your chest. “Stop staring at my ass,J.”You grinned as you picked a pair of boyshort undies.He sighed,still looking. “Its right there though.”He frowned as you pulled the underwear up your legs.You smirked at him,straddling him on the bed and placing a kiss on his lips. “Do we have time?”You asked,kissing his neck gently.A shiver went up his spine,his hands going straight to your butt.
 “Im sure if we’re fast enough….”He let out a small moan as you bit his tan skin.You smirked,kissing his lips. “You know,I just showered so probably not the best time.”You grinned before getting off of him and grabbing an oversized shirt.You slipped on a pair of joggers,tying the shirt into a knot at your waist.You looked like a hippie but you didnt care,you were comfy as hell.You grabbed the bag that JJ had packed,swinging it over your shoulder.
“bras,panties,socks,pants,bikinis,shorts,pajamas,pads,tampons,ibuprofen.Did I get everything?”He asked.You shrugged. “We’ll find out.”You smiled up at him.You two began the walk to the docks.He had left his packed duffel bag on your steps and had it swung over his shoulder,holding your hand as the two of you walked. “Ive got $400 to last us.”He informed you. “I’ve got my $100 for emergencies.”You kissed his cheek.
The ride on the ferry wasnt payed for,you two had just snuck on with the others.JJ’s cousin’s house was only a mile walk from the docks. “I cannot believe I agreed to this.”You giggled.He wrapped his arm around your waist,kissing your forehead. “Well believe it because its too late to turn back now.”He smiled.His cousins house was exactly how you imagined.
Small but much cleaner than anything in The Cut.He told you that he already knew you two were coming.You two went up to the door,JJ swung it open without even knocking and the fumes of weed immediately filled your senses. “HEY BITCH!”JJ shouted.Another voice shouted back before a tall boy with brown hair came into view,a blunt hanging from his mouth as he fist bumped JJ.
 “Hey,hoe.”He nodded towards JJ,glancing over at you. “This is her?”The boy asked.JJ nodded. “Leo this is (Y/N),(Y/N),Leo.”He introduced you two.Leo laughed loudly,holding out his fist and looking you up and down. “You know,he told me you were hot but I didnt believe him!I mean seriously though,have you seen him?You’re like wayyy out of his league.”JJ smacked Leo’s arm jokingly.
You just grinned,hands in your pockets. “You and me though,we could work.You know where I am.”Leo winked.God,he was so much like JJ.He tossed JJ the keys to the truck that was parked outside along with a tin,waving bye to you guys.You two tossed your bags in the back seat,seeing the stacks of blankets and pillows ready for you two.You got into the passengers seat,JJ’s hand resting on your thigh after he began driving. “You hungry?”He asked,pulling up to a McDonalds drive thru.
You got icecream and fries as well as a burger,sitting in the parking lot to eat. “Hey,hey (Y/N).”JJ turned to look at you.You raised your eyebrows as you put a fry in your mouth. “Hey,hey JJ.”You mimicked,making him roll his eyes. “Are you stressed?About the car ride,I mean.”He sipped his cola.You shrugged. “I dont know,dude.The Mountains are far away I just like...dont want you to fall asleep driving.”You answered.He nodded,his hand squeezing your thigh reassuringly.
You went through Leo’s CD’s,pleased to find Panic At The Disco Too Weird To Live,Too rare to die.You played it,leaning back in your seat as JJ drove.The area was unfamiliar and he seemed to just be driving in whatever direction his heart was telling him to.You didnt care though,you just enjoyed having some time alone with him.You ended up stopping at a large gas station to get snacks.Oreos,a jar of nutella,brownies,chips,iced coffee,gum and energy drinks was what you ended up getting.
“This is fucking insane.I dont even know where we are right now.”JJ admitted,laughing.You took a sip of iced coffee with a smile on your face. “I’ve literally never left the island so like,you know,im lowkey freaking out.”You giggled.He nodded in agreement,looking at every house you passed by.There were large and small houses next to eachother,high end stores next to shitty looking bakeries.It was nothing like OBX. “Everywhere else has middle class families,cant relate.”He chuckled,pointing out to the medium sized houses with three cars in the driveway.
Thats the last thing you heard from him before you fell asleep.When you woke up it was dark out and the truck was coming to a stop. “Rise and shine,princess.”He smiled.You rested your head against your hand,looking at your surroundings.You were parked in a field surrounded by tall trees.The sky was full of stars,the moon a bright crescent. “Where are we?”You asked. “Somewhere in New Jersey,Diner Capital of the Country.Pretty cool,right?”He raised his eyebrows.You nodded tiredly,reaching for his arm.He intertwined his fingers with yours,lifting up your arm and kissing the back of your hand lightly.
In the top floor penthouse in downtown Seoul, Taehyung stood in his walk-in closet, tying his tie in front of the floor length mirror. He checked the time. Five minutes before he had to leave. A text from his driver let him know that his ride was downstairs. After pulling his jacket on and checking himself one last time, he left his penthouse and made his way downstairs.
               The drive was quiet. Taehyung appreciated his early morning drives to the museum; it was a moment of peace before getting to work.
               His museum was his pride and joy. The building was all white marble, Grecian in design with a massive atrium dome in the center of the roof. He built it himself, without his father’s help. Not that his father would have helped him even if he were alive. His father was killed when Taehyung was a teenager, but the man was never very present in Taehyung’s life. He was almost always overseas on business, a business Taehyung was now in charge of.
               Taehyung never minded. He loved what he did. The thrill of it was almost as great as the wealth that came with it. The only thing he wished was different was the fame. He was the owner of the biggest private museum in Korea, not to mention the youngest, and with that title came press. He passed a billboard on the way to his museum, his own face looking down at the expressway.
               Stealing famous art and priceless artifacts would definitely be easier if his face wasn’t on every Louis Vuitton cologne and Rolex advertisement.
               His museum came into view and he was pleased to see he already had a line outside, waiting for the doors to open. There was a new exhibit opening today, and he was just as excited about it as the people waiting along the sidewalk.
               Once he was in his office, his assistant came in with a frazzled look on her face.
               “Sir, there’s a big problem,” she said.
               Taehyung took a deep breath before saying, “What’s wrong?”
               “One of our tour guides called in, he said he came down with something,” she said, frantically riffling through the disorganized mess of papers in her arms. “Which leaves us with only five guides. We’re going to be overloaded. There’s going to be children running around like monkeys, putting their filthy hands on the new exhibit-“
               Taehyung grabbed his assistant’s shoulders and fought against the smile threatening to come out. This was just like her, panicking every time something small didn’t go according to plan.
               “I will take his place,” Taehyung said.
               “But, sir…”
               “It’s my exhibit after all,” said Taehyung. “Who better than me to give the tour?”
               “Are you sure? People will recognize you,” she said. “Your most recent photoshoot for Hyundai is currently trending on Twitter. You’ll distract from the exhibit.”
               “I am sure,” said Taehyung. “I don’t think I’ll be a distraction.”
               His assistant gave him a skeptical and not at all placated look as she left his office.
               The museum doors were finally open and visitors were pouring in. The crowd was split up into six different tour groups, and Taehyung began his speech throughout the new exhibit. Quite a few eyes were glued to him rather than the exhibit, but he paid them no mind.
               A few tours later and something caught Taehyung’s eye through the crowd. He stuttered in the middle of his speech and stared wide eyed at the visitors waiting for him at the entrance.
               “Everyone, if you would please pardon me for a moment,” he said. “Please be responsible and follow the signs through the exhibit. Another guide will find you in a moment.”
               Taehyung pulled his earpiece and microphone off and pushed through the crowd of visitors. He made it to the front doors of the museum and stopped in front of two men, his smile dropping.
               “What are you doing here?” Taehyung whispered.
               Jin smiled and said, “What, we’re not allowed to visit an old friend?”
               “I’m working,” said Taehyung. “You can’t bring this here-“
               “Meet with us tonight,” said Namjoon. He handed Taehyung a slip of paper. Taehyung took it and slipped it into his inside coat pocket without tearing his eyes from them.
               “I will speak with you later,” he said. “Now, if you’ll excuse me, I was in the middle of a tour.”
               Taehyung backed away from them and then made his way back to his tour group.
~~~~~~~~~~~~
               “How do you know he’ll actually show up?” Jin asked as they drove back to Namjoon’s apartment.
               “He will,” said Namjoon. “He lives for this kind of thing. Literally. He does jobs like this for a living.”
               “I thought his museum was honest now,” said Jin. “Doesn’t he do modelling now too?”
               “Oh, sure. His museum is honest alright,” said Namjoon. He took the turn into his parking garage. “If by honest you mean every single piece on display there was stolen one way or another.”
               “Doesn’t he buy or…” Jin began.
               “Sometimes. But most of the time, he acquires them himself,” Namjoon said as he parked the car. Jin’s Mercedes was parked beside them.
               “I’m glad we have him on our side then,” said Jin. They sat in silence for a while before Jin said, “Well, I will see you later tonight. Tell your mother I say hello.”
               “I will,” said Namjoon. Jin opened the passenger door and stepped out, getting right into his own car beside them. Namjoon waited a few minutes after Jin drove off before leaving the parking garage himself.
               The prison loomed over Namjoon as he stood in front of it, leaning against his car. He didn’t have to wait long before he saw his mother step out of the double doors. He smiled as they met in the middle. His mom wrapped her arms around him and held him in a crushing hug.
               “My son,” she said, her voice wobbly. “My beautiful son. Look at you.”
               She pulled back and held his shoulders.
               “You’re so handsome,” she said. “I mean, you’ve always been handsome, but there was that weird awkward phase you had-“
               Namjoon scoffed and rolled his eyes as she burst out laughing.
               “I missed you, mom,” he said.
               “I missed you too.”
               They got into the car and Namjoon began the drive back home.
               “How’s your sister?” his mom asked.
               “She graduated yesterday,” said Namjoon. “She wants to be a school teacher.”
               “Good. I knew she’d be successful,” his mom said. “She’s a smart girl. You both are. How are you? What have you been doing with your life?”
               “I work for a tech company in Seoul but I’m planning on leaving them soon,” said Namjoon. “I have a lot of work to do for my new job. Jin says hi, by the way.”
               His mother narrowed her eyes as she scrutinized him. “You’re planning something, aren’t you?”
               “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” said Namjoon, keeping his eyes on the road.
               “Well, I suppose it’s none of my business, as long you keep me out of it,” she said. “Whatever you’re up to, you know I won’t stop you. I just want you to be careful.”
               “I will,” said Namjoon. They drove in silence for a while before he said, “I’m taking us out for dinner tomorrow to celebrate Geongmin’s graduation.”
               “I can’t wait to see her. Why didn’t she come with you today?”
               “She’s busy with interviews today,” said Namjoon. He chuckled at his mother’s shocked face. “I know, she doesn’t waste any time, right?”
               “Good for her,” his mom said.
               After getting home and helping his mother settle into her new apartment he had bought for her next door, Namjoon spent some time getting ready for his own meeting. Jin arrived early, then Taehyung shortly after. Namjoon served them drinks and then sat with them around his dining table.
               “So, tell us the plan,” said Jin.
“Hawthorne’s collection is underground,” said Namjoon. “Behind a safe door that only opens with a password and thumbprint.”
               “How are we going to get Hawthorne’s thumbprint?” asked Jin.
               “We won’t,” said Namjoon. “Because that’s not the print we need. The only thumbprint that will open the door belongs to his son, Laurel Hawthorne. Laurel is the heir to the entire collection.”
               “Ah! Laurel Hawthorne!” Taehyung exclaimed. “I’ve worked with him in the past. Not a fan.”
               “You’re going to have to meet with him one last time to get the prints,” said Namjoon. “We’ll set up a meeting with him, where you’ll fake a sale. We’ll have someone hiding nearby with a tranquilizer gun. Once we take him out, you’ll nab his prints and we’ll be out of there.”
               “This sounds dangerous,” said Jin.
               “Inside the collection room is where the real trouble begins,” Namjoon continued. “Hawthorne uses a state-of-the-art technology to protect his collection. The security system inside uses gaseous detection. Once the door is opened, the room fills with a harmless gas. If there’s any kind of movement behind the barricades of the artifacts, another gas is released into the air, turning it toxic. From there, the person inside the chamber will only have a few minutes before dying. Once the security system is neutralized, and the cameras are placed in a loop, we’ll be able to just go in and take what we want. We’ll obviously replace everything with fakes, especially the Sky’s Eye, the item we need to leave with.”
               “Ah, the Sky’s Eye,” said Taehyung. “I had a feeling the necklace was what this was about. But I thought only one man has been in possession of the Sky’s Eye for ten years.”
               “You are correct,” said Jin. “Hawthorne is the very same man.”
Taehyung’s eyes widened as he made the connection.
“Hawthorne is Montgomery,” he whispered. “So, this job isn’t just for the necklace.”
“We’ll do all of this on the day of Hawthorne’s party, while he’s distracted,” said Namjoon. “We just need to find a way to get an invitation.”
               “Yes, that will be difficult,” said Jin.
               “Do you know anyone who’s going?” Namjoon asked Jin.
               “I might,” he said.
               “Do you think it’s someone you might be able to go with as their date?” asked Namjoon.
               “Oh, trust me. I would die to be this man’s date. He is the most handsome man in the world, after all,” said Jin. Namjoon narrowed his eyes. Jin burst into laughter, slapping his knee and pulling an envelope from the pocket inside his jacket.
               “You had an invitation all this time?” asked Taehyung.
               “Of course!” said Jin, laughing and slapping his knee. Namjoon shook his head but couldn’t help a fond smile from pulling at his lips.

(if you wanna be tagged or removed message me)
JJ never liked his birthday. It was just the weight of the day and the pressure to make it memorable. It was never something he could give himself. He didn’t like to make a big deal about it either. It was easier that way. It’s not that he didn’t appreciate what his friends did for him, he really did.
JJ remembers for his 16th birthday his dad was passed out drunk the whole morning and Pope came and picked him up and they went surfing all day. Later they stayed at John B’s, sang happy birthday, and had brownies, his favorite. He had found out later that Kie and June had baked the brownies themselves. It was the best birthday he had ever had.
JJ’s birthdays were always a fight with his dad. Like a sad yearly tradition that left him more bruised than the day before. The day reminded his dad of his mom and how they weren’t in love anymore and that she left him. That’s JJ, the constant reminder of the shitty world they live in.
His mom left them both. JJ always clarified that. If his dad got to be bitter and drink himself to death, then JJ got to be upset about it. Even just a little.
He hadn’t lived with his dad in a few years, only stopping in once and a while to make sure he wasn’t dead, had paid the bills, and kept food in the fridge. He didn’t deserve it, but not doing it made JJ feel guilty.
JJ had made it clear to his friends that he didn’t want to draw attention to his birthday this year.
“We’re not doing any party shit, okay? I just wanna go surf.” He had said Sunday. No one argued, but Kie did insist they at least go to The Wreck Friday for dessert. They all agreed and would stay over at the chateau to get to the beach the following morning. That was before June stood him up for surfing. And before she said she’d go out with Topper Friday night. Pope seemed to be on her side which was just the icing on his sad, sad birthday cake. He said as such to him when they went surfing Tuesday morning.
“JJ, I am not on anyone’s side. There are no sides.”
“But you knew!” JJ responded, his thoughts were circling in his head.
Pope sighed, “I knew that he sort of asked her out back at that party, but I didn’t know he came into the shop yesterday. and,” he gave JJ a pointed look, “I didn’t know you’d be this upset about June going on a date.”
“I’m not. She can go out with whoever she wants to go out with,” he said matter of factly.
Pope just raised his eyebrows and went back to unloading his car. They hadn’t made it down to the beach yet, JJ too distracted to keep walking.
“It’s just Topper man,” JJ fake shivered.
“Listen, no one’s thrilled about it being him, but we at least owe it to June to act, I don't know, neutral about the situation.”
“Okay, okay,” JJ brushed off his comment.
JJ wanted to say that no one knew if Topper was really June’s soulmate or not, but he knew that he would tell JJ not to be rude and accuse him of being in love with his best friend. Which was not the case here.
“No, I’m serious JJ. Don’t make her feel bad about going out with him. We owe it to her. That and about a million other things.”
JJ let that thought roll over in his mind. He was right. June was the most caring person in the world, she had put them all first every single time.
“Yeah, I know.” He paused, “And what if it’s not him?”
Pope was already walking down the beach, annoyed at how long JJ was taking, “then we fuck his shit up.”
JJ laughed at his abruptness because that’s exactly what he would have said.
The both of them spent the next few hours in the water, but JJ couldn’t stop thinking about what Pope said. And that’s why, the next day, JJ got out of bed before noon and drove to the bait shop around the time June would be getting off. He knew she wouldn’t have driven there, it was too nice of a day. So, he sat in the parking lot and waited.
When she was finally leaving, she used the side door. JJ had to run to catch up with her, startling both himself and June.
“Hey!” he called out.
She froze before turning around, “what’re you doing?” “Can I drive you home?”
She thought about it before agreeing.
“I’m sorry,” JJ began when they had gotten out of the parking lot. She was quiet and very visibly tired.
“The JJ Maybank… apologizing?” So, she was still mad.
“Okay, I deserve that. Go ahead, give it to me.”
June stayed silent in the passenger seat, her head leaning against the window, “No, I just shouldn’t have said anything.”
He gripped the steering wheel tighter, “No, it was shitty of me to be all passive-aggressive about it. It really doesn’t matter who you go out with or who you don’t or if it’s Topper or whoever.”
He looked over at her, bouncing her leg up and down and still leaning against the door.
“Are we okay?” he asks
“Always.” It took a moment for her to look over at him but she smiled. JJ cleared his throat and shifted his eyes back to the road. He already felt better, like he could breathe properly again knowing she wasn’t pissed off at him.
“What’re you humming?” He asks.
Her eyes were closed when she answered, “I don’t know. It’s been stuck in my head all day.” and then she started humming again, louder for JJ to hear.
“Oh, I know that song!” He starts to sing along, filling in the words.
June laughs, “I’ve literally never heard that song. That’s wild.”
“It’s your soulmate?” JJ poses tentatively.
“Yeah, yeah I guess so.” She breathed.
When they parked he asked, “Do you really think it’s Topper?”
June shot him a look instantly. He held his hands up in surrender, “I’m not arguing. Just… curious.”
She sighed a little before speaking, “I don’t know. But I’d hate myself if I didn’t try to find out, ya know?”
JJ just nodded his head, she looked as if she wanted to say more, but stopped herself. June climbed out of the truck and yelled behind her, “See you Friday?”
“Of course,” he yelled back. He watched her close the door behind her before driving off.
JJ didn’t go straight back to the chateau. Instead, he kept driving, the radio at the lowest possible setting, all the windows down until he ended up at his dad’s house. He parked a few houses down and just watched. He wasn’t sure if he was trying to build up the courage to go in, or if he wanted to see his dad come out, or what. He stayed for a while, not thinking about anything specific, just breathing in the cool air and watching.
Sometimes JJ wanted so badly to hate his dad. He desperately tries to erase all traces of familiarity, every last thing about himself that could possibly lead someone to Luke Maybank. He hated him. He hated him for giving JJ his eyes and his rough demeanor. He used to wish to be softer, kinder, more gentle. Someone like Pope or June. Instead, he was steel, dented, and hard to fix.
Sometimes JJ wanted so badly to hate his dad and everything he had done to him, that he couldn’t.
On Friday morning, well Friday afternoon, JJ walked into the living room of an empty chateau. Half asleep, he stumbled into the kitchen and pulled out an empty Eggo waffle box from the freezer. Cool. He then dragged his feet over to the cabinets and pulled out what was left of the coffee grounds and began making a pot. He thought about calling Pope and making him bring some breakfast from his dad’s, but then he saw the note on the counter.
went to get groceries. can’t survive on stale Oreos anymore
John b.
Well, that answered that JJ thought as his stomach growled. Stale Oreos didn’t sound too bad now.
About a half-hour later, he heard someone on the front porch and thought it must be JB back from the store, hands filled with groceries.
He flung open the door, “God, I’m starving. What-” He stopped in his tracks. Standing in front of him was his dad. It felt wrong, having him here. In this place, in this safe space that he and his friends had created. Such evil and anger weren’t welcome.
“What’re you doing here?” JJ said when his mouth finally caught up with his brain.
“Is that any way to greet your father?” Luke spoke as if he was reading from a teleprompter. His words were slow and meaningless, slurred together without a thought behind them.
JJ stayed silent, disgust rising in him.
“Heard you were in the neighborhood.”
“No,” JJ said through gritted teeth, “must’ve been someone else.”
“Don’t lie to me, boy. I’m the one who taught you how.” He was inching closer. He reeked of alcohol and sweat.
“You didn’t teach me anything.” He spits.
“Listen to me you little shit” Luke started, laughing as he lunged forward. It was a dark, empty sound. It made JJ’s ears ring. He closed his eyes for a second and the laugh echoed. It encompassed him, became him. JJ saw every fight, every empty beer bottle, every stack of cash blown away, every sleepless night and it overtook him. He was the product of hatred. He was steel, so scratched and dented and kicked in that not even the best people could fix him.
When JJ opened his eyes, his body hurt and his ears were ringing and he thought his lip was bleeding. He was laying on the porch, propped up against the doorframe. Once he was sure his dad had left, he started to get up. Every thought in his head was replaced by the throbbing of his left side. The more he walked, the more he breathed, the quicker it morphed into anger, “Fuck,” he yelled, “He came here! Here. Here. He was here.” He repeated it over and over until the words had no meaning. He left through the backdoor and ended up at the overlook. His mind was racing, replaying the moments from earlier and every moment prior. JJ didn’t want to cry, didn’t want to be the little kid with the shitfaced dad who forgot his birthday. But he was, so he did. JJ cried until his eyes were puffy and his head hurt and the sun had started setting.
Now, JJ was sitting in John B’s spare room. He crawled in through the window, not wanting to run into anyone if they were home. They were probably trying to call, but his phone was in the living room from this morning. He didn’t want to have to tell them, watch as their eyes scanned over him to assess the damage. He looked around the room that had somehow become his own. There were clothes piled on the floor, a few swimsuits left from the others hanging on the door, and empty beer cans littering the ground. The bed frame was broken, making the whole mattress tilt slightly towards the left.
JJ didn’t know what it was like to call someplace home. He was always hesitant, afraid that someone would just pull the rug out from under his feet and he’d be left falling. He never called his childhood bedroom home, it was a house. With four walls and a shitload of bad memories. He wanted to scream, why did he still let his dad have this control over him? He threw a shoe across the room and stormed out before stopping short in the hallway. He could hear a voice in the living room.
“Kie, it’s fine. I’m not going to be late, I just stopped at the chateau to get changed.”
She paused.
“Because it’s faster than driving all the way back to my house.”
“Okay, see you in five.”
Shit, his birthday dinner. JJ tried to retreat to the room, but he wasn’t fast enough. June had already seen him, “J! I didn’t know anyone was here. Thought you’d be with everyone else by now.”
She was holding onto the door frame with one hand and attempting to pry off her heels with the other. She was wearing a sparkling purple dress that he didn’t recognize and her hair was lazily pulled up on top of her head. A wave of nerves flooded his body, but he suppressed the feeling almost as fast as it happened.
He cleared his throat, “Uh, yeah. I was just leaving. Actually.” He grabbed his keys off the counter. He wasn’t sure if she could see his bruised knuckles from there, but he didn’t want to give her the chance.
“I can drive,” she offered softly, “if you’ll wait five minutes so I can get out of this shit,”
He nodded his head, and slowly sat at the counter, “spare’s open if you want.”
She nodded, heading into the room. JJ took this opportunity to bandage his side in the bathroom. It was already bruised, so he put some aloe vera on before taping it up and changing into a different shirt. Pope had mentioned once that aloe vera can help inflammation. Ever since there’s been a bottle in the first aid kit. He liked the smell, reminded him of summer.
He cleaned the cuts on his hand and his lip like he should have when he first got here. The blood was dry on his face and cleaning it only made the cut reopen. Fuck it, he thought and met June back in the living room.
She had changed into jeans.
“Hey, is this mine?” she asked, pointing to the shirt she was wearing. It was a gray high school track t-shirt, “I forgot to pack one and saw this in the dresser.”
“Must be, I didn’t do track, hell no.”
She laughs before linking her arm through his and leading them to the car. JJ couldn’t help but wonder how her date went. She was in good spirits, better than usual he noticed. He wanted to ask, but he was certain he didn’t want to know the answer. He wanted to tell her about his dad, too, surprisingly. But he knew the face that she’d make as soon as the words were out of his mouth. And that hurt JJ more than the possible broken rib.
When they got to The Wreck, Mr. Carerra waved them to the back where the rest of their friends sat. It felt the most normal JJ had felt in a long time like time resets itself when the five of them sit around a wooden table eating ice cream.
He tried to focus on the conversation, on the light music being played through the restaurant, on the crickets outside, anything to ground him to this moment.
“JJ?” John B asked from across the table.
“Hey,” June said a little louder, hitting his stomach to get his attention. He winced slightly before responding, “huh? Sorry. I was, uh, trying to figure out what song was playing.”
Pope and Kie share a look before diverting their attention back to John B who repeated his question, “Are you excited to figure out your soulmate?”
“Oh,” JJ laughed, “yeah. Thrilled.”
“Come on, it’s kind of exciting. You’ve gotta admit that.”
“Yeah, I guess.” His eyes scan the table, stopping at each of his friends. Truthfully, he doesn’t want anything to change. He’d trade a soulmate for his friends any day. It’s the only thing that makes sense.
When Kie's dad finally kicks them out of the restaurant, he makes her stay behind to clean the tables. They all offer to help, but to JJ’s excitement she assures them to go ahead and that she'd meet back up with them in a little. Pope and John B hop in the van and start driving away before the rest of them are even in the parking lot, “See you in ten,” Pope yells from the passenger side.
Once June and JJ are in the car, she makes JJ close her eyes.
“Why?” he questioned.
“Just do it.”
“June, I really-”
“Please?”
He huffed and pulled down his hat to cover his eyes. He could hear her moving around next to him.
“Okay, open.” JJ did as he was told and was presented with a soft gift-wrapped present.
“Happy birthday,” she said sweetly. She was facing him, turned sideways in the driver's seat with her head resting on the chair.
“It’s not my birthday yet.” He said, meeting her eyes.
“I wanted to be first.”
“I told you not to get me anything.”
“I don’t care,” she chuckled.
“June,”
“Take the present, you jerk.”
He pulled back the paper revealing a keychain laid on top of some type of clothes. He held it up to get a better look and realized it was a surfboard with “OBX” written on it like from a tacky souvenir shop, “cute.”
She smiled, “now look at that.”
He lifted the crewneck in his lap, it was a light blue color and had stitching near the colors.
Before he could say anything June interrupted, “Found it in that thrift shop by my house the other day.”
“I love it.”
“Yeah?”
“Yes, are you kidding?” He laughed a little, “thank you.”
She smiled again, satisfied with herself before turning forward and starting the car.
JJ messed with the rings on his fingers, examining the bruises that had started to form/
“Hey,” he said.
“Hey,”
“Have you… heard anything else? Like your soulmate, I guess.”
He felt her hesitate beside him, “Ya know what nevermind. It’s okay, you’re pretty sure it’s Topper and you really don’t have to tell me anything. It is totally okay. I was just-”
“Nervous?”
He sighs, “yeah.”
She clears her throat, “it’s not scary. At all. It is weird though, weird as hell. I mean it’s almost like if you weren't paying attention, you’d never even notice.”
She had the same far-off look John B got when he talked about this shit. It made him uneasy.
“But to answer your question, I’ve only heard it a few times.”
He nodded his head and mulled over what she said.
When he opened the door to the chateau, he was met by everyone standing in the living room, “happy birthday!”
“You distracted me!” He yelled at June shutting the door.
“It was my job!” she yelled back, “I had to give them time.”
He was laughing at everyone’s stupid party hats and the tray of brownies with sloppy “happy bday J” iced on top with a single lit candle. He made a show of blowing it out and pulled the others into a hug. He pretended to be annoyed at the effort, but deep down he had been so excited.
Later, he tried to etch it into his mind. He wanted to remember tonight as the best birthday he had ever had. He smiled as he fell asleep on a mattress that didn’t tilt to the left anymore in a room that he had made his home.

Chapter 6: It Was Too Easy
A/N: This is a long one, some fluff I guess, I promise I'm getting there haha. Also two in one day? Kinda proud of myself haha. No warning on this one.. I don't think.
Description: John B’s Sister comes home from staying with their mom, only to find out that her brother is missing and her dad was murdered. JJ may have just lost his best friend. Her and JJ have to figure out what to do and how to pick up the pieces.
Need to catch up? Ch.1 / Ch.2 / Ch.3 / Ch.4 / Ch.5
Tumblr media
I looked over the office space, it was pretty clean if I do say so myself, the cleanest I have ever seen it at least. The desk was bare except for a few supplies, the shelves neatly stacked with books, and the surfaces all nicely wiped down. I took one last glance over the door before making my way to the door that JJ was leaned against. I pulled it closed and locked the door. For a while at least, I would not have to be reminded of it. I walked out leaned against the counter, looking at JJ.
“So what was that about back there.” I sat on the barstool as he moved to the kitchen, pulling out groceries. “What are you talking about?” He raised an eyebrow at me, pulling out a pot and some pasta.
“Back at the police tent.” I walked over pulling out the spoons and stuff for the pasta. “You said I can’t be…” I paused and motioned over my body, “me. Why?”
“Oh. Yeah umm, you know how I said Ward adopted John B?” I just nodded in response, beginning to pour the pasta into the water JJ put on the stove. “Well his social worker was standing over there, and I didn’t want her to know that you were his sister. She might try to take you too.” He looked up at me, his head still hanging low.
My heart broke, the tone of his voice, the look in his eyes was heart wrenching. I walked over to him, wrapping my arms around his waist. This form of comforting each other through physical affection, while new, was our go to. We knew that we both lacked the words to help the other. He put his arms around my neck. I squeezed him a little tighter. “I’m not gonna go anywhere. There’s no way you're losing me J.” I felt him hold me a little closer.
Our moment was soon interrupted by the water boiling over onto the stove. I quickly moved to grab the spoon and stir it, moving to turn the heat down. JJ moved to grab a towel, out arms brushing, just enough for me to notice. We continued to cook in silence until it was ready.
“So to the ferry office first?” JJ questioned as we began to eat. “Or should we start somewhere else?”
“We need to know the area that the ship was in, or was found, you know? Before we get any other ship info.” I put another spoonful of pasta into my mouth looking at JJ.
“Do you think Shoope will give that info out?” He questioned.
“Honestly, I have no idea, but it was your boat. Maybe we can pull that string.”
“My dad’s boat…” JJ said before falling silent.
“Right.” I took in a deep breath. The room fell uncomfortably silent. I was no stranger to the way that JJ’s dad treated him. I had known him as long as John B had. It broke me to know that if Luke finds out about this or finds JJ, I don’t know what will happen. JJ risked everything to help John B, and hopefully, it wasn’t for nothing.
--
We finished up eating and cleaning the kitchen before starting off the walk back to the sheriff’s tent. I was hoping that giving my car a break would help her to start again. We approached the tent and JJ stopped. “I think that you should sit in the car.”
“Excuse me?” I snapped.
“Not that I don’t want you to come, but a lot of Big John’s friends and Co-workers are here.” I glanced up to see the other fishermen and neighbors in the tent. “And that lady, the social worker, she's close to the agent, and-”
“Okay JJ” I put my arm on his shoulder. “I get it.”
“I just don’t wanna risk someone noticing you, and her sending you back to the mainland. I can’t go through with this goose chase alone.”
I laughed. “Of course. Okay, you need to ask for the coordinates of where the boat went down, and where it was found, we’ll go from there okay?”
He held his hand up to salute me. I mirrored his and saluted back, “Aye, Aye Capt’n.” He turned away, both of us laughing. I kept my head down as I walked back to the car. The more I thought about it, the more that what JJ was saying worried me. I was supposed to start school in the fall, I had no one to stay with and they found out my uncle wasn’t here. I needed to stay as undercover as possible. I undid my keys from my pocket and got in. I was right, my car started. I rolled the windows down enough to get some air in, but let the window tint still keep me hidden in the car. I flipped through radio stations, waiting for JJ to get back into the car. Half of me expected him to come back empty-handed, because of his relationship with Shoope, and the law in general. After this morning though, the way that he looked at JJ, half of me thought JJ would not even have to try too hard for the coordinates.
“Ah, I see she started.” JJ said, opening the door. I jumped up from his sudden burst into the car. “Maybe next time you hide, lock the doors?” He turned, pulling the seat belt over him, as I did the same. “Oh, I love this song!” He turned up the radio sitting back. I just looked at him, a confused look on my face. “What?” He smiled at me.
“You know what? Did you get it? What happened?”
“Oh yea.” He dug in his pockets. He pulled out a yellow sticky note.”I present to you” He dramatically handed you the slip. “The last coordinates of the Phantom”
His smile was big as I reached out and gripped the paper. “35.081289,-75.950656” is red. “JJ how did you even?”
“Ah, it was too easy Y/N” He took the sticky note back from me and slipped it back in his pocket. “I told him that my dad needed the coordinates for some insurance thing.” He started. “Kie and Pope were there”
“What? Did you talk to them?” I asked, worry coating my voice. Things didn’t seem right with them since John B left, which I hated. “You aren’t avoiding talking to them because I’m here right?” I had to ask, I did not want JJ losing his closest friends because I came back and he felt like he had to take care of me.
“What? No! Absolutely not. I don’t know. Since they kissed they’ve been figuring things out I guess.” He reached over to grab my hand. “Don’t think you’re changing me that much Routledge” He joked, but I could tell he meant it.
I squeezed his hand before moving to shift the car in gear. “So what happened?” I asked, still wanting to know. “Did they speak to you?”
“Oh, yea. They seemed a little worried when I was talking about my dad like they wanted to ask about me, what I was doing. They didn’t though. Shoope just gave me the numbers and I didn’t really stick around. They weren’t saying anything, I’m not sure what they were there for. Shoope said that they had not found anything, but they were still looking” He scoffed at the last part. “Compared to them, well, we’re literally better than the FBI.”
“I’m sorry that Kie and Pope aren’t talking to you. I really am.”
“Like I said. I’ve got you, you’ve got me” He said it with a smile on his face, causing one to grow on mine as well. “So where are we going now, Nancy Drew?”
I laughed at the nickname he had given me, at least it was better than princess. “The ferry office, to hopefully con them out of one of those maps. And a ship list.”
“Alright then. Sounds easy enough” I laughed again, I swear JJ could lighten the mood, anywhere anytime, and I was so thankful for that.
--
We walked through the large glass door to the ferry office. “All the tickets are sold out for the next ride. Try again in a few hours.” The old man behind the desk said, without even looking up from the old box of a computer that sat in front of him. JJ gave me a disgusted look before walking to one of the models in the room, after motioning for me to talk to the man. I guess it was my turn to get the materials.
“Uh, actually I was hoping you could help me find some public records.” I said walking up to the tall desk.
He looked at me over the glasses that sat low on his nose. “And those would be?” I was hoping you could get me an ocean liner record and map from the days around the storm we just had?” I asked as calmly as I could. I wasn’t doing anything wrong, but I was extremely nervous.
“And what does a youngin like you need with a liner map?” He said looking back at the computer. He started typing. “What area do you want?” I let out a breath.
“The area surrounding the Banks would be fine if that's not too much.” I smiled at him. He gave me a questioning look. “And it’s for a school project, gotta work on that home history and workforce stuff”  I forced a smile, still had no idea what I was talking about.
“Alright. Seems a bit intense for summer school?” He said standing up and reaching for the printer behind him, which began spitting out the large paper maps.
“Summer classes, Chapel Hill. You're looking at one smart college girl right here” JJ said coming to stand behind you.
“Oh. Alright, I’m glad they're covering this stuff over there on the mainland. It’s important.” The old man spoke handing you a few papers and 3 large maps.
“Yes of course,” I said taking a few steps back. “Thank you so much! My professors are going to love this.” I said making the older gentlemen smile. JJ and I walked at a quicker pace. Once we were in the parking lot JJ wrapped his arms around my waist spinning me around him.
“We did it Y/N! And it was easy. Nothing has been that easy before!” He laughed putting me down.
“What can I say? I have a special touch.” We got back into the car. The sun had set while we were in the office. The ride was quiet, JJ messed with the radio the whole way back to the Chateau, flipping the station every thirty seconds, nothing peaking his interest. When we made our way back to the Chateau, We both sat on the folded out couch, exhausted.
I placed the maps and took the sticky note from JJ on the counter. We went through the first map, from the night of the storm, seeing if any of the liners were running late, and possibly stopped their track because of the storm. We looked at all the times, the boat type, path and numbers, marking the Phantoms coordinates on the map, and drawing a path and radius. We were sorting it all out until later into the night.
“Okay, As much as I want to work on this, I can’t keep my eyes open anymore” JJ collapsed onto the table for dramatic effect.
“Alright Alright. It’ll still be here tomorrow. We’ll work on it tomorrow alright?” JJ lazily saluted to me. I walked into John B’s room, the same wave of nausea hit me, just as it had the night before. I quickly changed and left to go to the bathroom. I saw JJ standing shirtless in the bathroom brushing his teeth. I stood, leaning against the frame of the bathroom.
“If you took a picture it would last longer” JJ joked.
“Oh. Haha. I’m waiting for my turn to brush my teeth.” JJ just moved to hand me my toothbrush and the toothpaste, then stepped to the side. I slid past him and made my way to the sink. I looked in the mirror as he finished up brushing his teeth.
“So, Are we sharing a bed again tonight?” Any other time I would have thought he was being a smart ass, but there was a genuine tone to his voice. “Because I don't mind the company” I just nodded, before finishing up brushing my teeth. I didn’t want to seem like a baby, but the thought of sleeping in my dead dad’s bed, or my missing brothers, just felt wrong right now. I laid down next to JJ, mirroring his position. We both stared up at the dark ceiling.
“What are you thinking about?” I asked him.
“That John B is really gonna owe me one when we find his ass.” JJ laughed.
I turn on my side to face him. “What if we don’t?” My voice cracked, giving me up as tears started to fall down my face again.
“Hey now.” JJ turned and pulled me into his chest, wrapping his arms around me. “We will. You and your detective skills, and me with, well I don't know, but we’ll find him ok?”
I just nodded into his chest. I put one arm over his side, letting him know I was comfortable. I just mumbled out a soft “ok.”
“Alright, We worked hard today, let’s get some sleep alright”
I slowly started to fall asleep, the long day had taken a toll on me. Before I completely fell asleep I felt JJ place a kiss into my hair and rest his head on top of mine, leaving me to smile against his chest like an idiot.

The First Date | Lee Felix | Oneshot
Title: The First Date
Pairing: Felix x Reader

Genre/Warnings: Fluff, angst (?), best friends, college!au, seemingly unrequited love
Words: 2.6k
Requested: No
Tumblr media
“So you're telling me that you’ve never been on a date before?”
I buried my face into my crossed arms and hoped the ground would open up and swallow me whole. I don’t know how we ended up on this topic but I didn't want to look up across the table at Felix and have him tease me for being inexperienced.
The vibrations of him tapping on the table near the top of my head called for my attention. “Okay fine,” I raised my head and glared at the guy in front of me, “I’ve never been on a date. At my big age, I’ve never been on a date.”
Felix held his hands up in surrender and chuckled, picking up his pen and going back to writing his notes for his music theory class. He seemed to get the message that this was a topic I was embarrassed about and now it's become something I wouldn’t be able to shake from my focus on for the rest of my day. To think, I’ve gone this far without even striking up a relationship with anyone.
“You know,” Felix spoke up, bringing me out of my thoughts, “it's not uncommon to never have been on a date at this age. You’re a college student, you've got things to do! Some people are just too busy for dates right now.”
“You know when people try to comfort you but it just makes you feel worse?” I grumbled
He rubbed the back of his neck and smiled meekly at me. “Sorry.”
“No, it's just that I’m not busy which means there's got to be something wrong with me. I’m taking it easy with my classes and work and yet instead of meeting new people and going on dates, my spare time is filled with staying at home and watching dramas.” I slumped back on the desk and sulked.
“You forgot to mention you spend a lot of time with yours truly over here.” Felix pointed at himself smugly before his expression suddenly changed to one of excitement. “(Y/n) I’ve just had the most brilliant idea.”
I signalled for him to continue with my hand.
“Go out with me.”
A silence settled between us, Felix with his wide smile and me with an incredulous look on my face. When he realised I wasn't going to say anything, he continued.
“Okay hear me out, you’ve never been on a date–”
“We have established that many times already, move on.”
“–Right, okay, so you don't want to get desperate and throw yourself at the first guy willing to take you out and you end up having a shitty time, yeah?”
“You’re making me out to be quite pathetic but if I’m having this stupid conversation with you I guess you’re not wrong.”
“Who better to take you out than your best friend? I’ll make sure you have a good– no, the best first date ever! Then you don't have to sulk so much over this.” If he could, Felix would definitely throw himself some sort of awards ceremony with the way he was patting his own back over his idea.
I thought about it, what was the harm? He was right, I would have a good first date --at least I hoped I would but I didn't know how much I could trust that idiot’s definition of ‘good’-- and I’d get to check ‘first date’ off of the imaginary to-do list in my head. What could go wrong?
You could fall for him
I quickly shook the intrusive thought out of my head and nodded, holding my hand out to shake with Felix’s
“It's a date.”
Tumblr media
I looked at the box that Felix dropped off at my apartment room, wondering what the hell was inside. Surely I could just open it but the velvet lining and the silk ribbon told me I couldn't afford whatever it was.
After a few minutes of nail biting and contemplation, I slowly tugged the ribbon loose and opened the box to a dress. It was definitely something I would see and turn away from because the price would scare me off.
I held it up in front of me and looked in the mirror. It was short and bouncy, a fun patterned dress that could be dressed up or worn casual. As I turned to put it back, I noticed an envelope addressed to me.
In cursive it wrote,
’To my dearest (y/n),
I hope you're looking forward to our date. I’ve picked this out for you to wear tomorrow cause I know you’ll definitely stress about it. Aren’t I the best?
Yours truly,
Felix.
(ps. I hope your bedroom floor isn't as destroyed as I know it is.)’
I looked at all the scattered clothes I had thrown on the ground just an hour ago in an attempt to find the perfect outfit for our date tomorrow.
“Jesus Christ… he couldn't have dropped this off a little earlier?”
Tumblr media
A knock on my door signalled Felix’s arrival and I jumped up excitedly to let him in. I opened the door to be greeted with his warm smile and crescent moon eyes. He pulled his hand out from behind him and presented me with a single red rose.
“For you.”
I couldn't help the blush that crept up my face as I accepted the flower, hoping that my makeup was enough to hide it.
“Thank you for this... Oh and the dress, it’s really nice.”
I spun to show it off and laughed as he applauded. “My taste is immaculate,” he praised himself. “Are you ready to go?”
“Yeah, just let me grab my jacket.” I turned to get it until I felt Felix’s hand circle my wrist.
“No no no you're doing it wrong. If you get cold, then I would simply have to lend you my jacket. That’s why I wore this one, it matches your look.”
I could only laugh at how silly he was being but I went along with it anyways. As we left my apartment, his hand dropped from my wrist and slipped into mine. We’ve held hands many times before and we’ve hung out many times before but the context of this being a date made my heart beat just that little bit faster.
“So, what's the plan?” I asked looking up at Felix. He let go of my hand to open the car door for me, closing it after I got in. He hopped into the driver's seat and strapped himself in.
“First, I’ll take you to a stupid restaurant where the portions are small and the prices are high. We’ll feel a little awkward because we don't know how to act but we keep up a facade of small talk and shallow laughs,”
I nodded along, enjoying his narrative. He started the car and drove, turning on the radio and lowering the volume so he could continue.
“Then we’ll leave unsatisfied and hungry. I’ll ask ‘so… did you enjoy it?’ and you respond with a polite ‘yeah it was nice.’ Then we’ll sit in an uncomfortable silence for a bit until we settle on an unspoken mutual understanding that it was shit. That's when you speak up and say…” he looked over at me and prompted me to speak.
“Uhhh, lets go get some real food?”
“Correct! And I’ll respond with ‘I know just the place.’ so then I drive us to– Oh, look there’s our first destination.”. I looked out the window to an italian restaurant. After we drove in, my door was opened by a worker and Felix tossed his keys to the valet.
“Come on (y/n)! We’ve got a reservation to get to.”
I jogged up to Felix and slipped my hand into the crook of his elbow.
“You didn't finish your story.”
“Well I guess you’re going to have to see this date through to find out how it ends.”
Tumblr media
Felix was very detailed in his plan. The portions of the meals were indeed small and their prices weren't even listed on the menu --‘that’s how you know they're stupid expensive’ he commented while looking through it--
During dinner he really stuck to the ‘awkward small talk’ act, from the way he fiddled with his cutlery, to the way he stuttered when he talked.
(”So… what do you do for a living?” Felix looked up at me and then had his gaze dart back down to the pasta on his plate, pushing the food around stiffly with his fork.
“Felix you literally picked me up from my shift two days ago,” I deadpanned.
“You know,” he twirled the noodles with his fork, “you’re really taking the fun out of this awkward start to the date. Could you at least give me a dry answer?”
I couldn't help but soften at his pout. “I’ll do you one better.” I sat up straight, chewed on my lip a bit while shifting my eyes away from the man in front of me, choosing to focus on the pattern of the floor of the restaurant.
I let out a pretend anxious cough and spoke up, “Uhh… I do office work. You know just dealing with filing papers and data entry, low level stuff that isn't interesting to talk about.”
I looked up through my hair at Felix who was trying his best to hold back a smile, instead pursing his lips together to stifle a laugh.
“Oh o-okay. I mean we don't have to talk about your work, I j-just–”
“No,” I cut him off, “it's fine. Um, we could think of a different topic?”
“Yes let's do that.”
And then we sat in silence for another minute, only hearing the sounds of our cutlery scraping against the plates.
As much as this little performance was meant to be awkward, I’d never felt more comfortable acting stupid with Felix.)
We sat back in the car silently, waiting for the other to speak up.
“So, how was the food?” Felix asked.
I pretended to contemplate a bit before answering with a curt, ‘It was okay. I enjoyed it.’
Felix nodded, looking out the window clearing his throat to break the silence.
“Okay you know what, let’s get this part of the night over and done with,” I reached over and tugged on Felix’s arm to get his attention, “let's go get some real food.”
A smirk made its way on his face and he started the car, “I know just the place.”
Tumblr media
As we sat on the sidewalk eating our cheap burritos from the food truck parked across the street, I couldn't help but admire how Felix looked. He had loosened up his proper look from the beginning of the night, tousling his gelled hair a bit and unbuttoning the first two buttons of his button up. The lights from the small carnival set up behind us illuminated his features flawlessly, accentuating the sharpness of his jawline. When it came to bone structure, Felix was definitely gifted with it. His button nose and full lips rounded out his features, balancing his look perfectly.
To put it simply, Felix was beautiful.
As I took the last bite of my food, my ‘date’ pulled a clean tissue from his pocket and wiped the corners of my mouth. He then took the rubbish from my hands to toss it.
“If you hadn’t guessed–” he held both my hands to pull me up– “we’re going to the fair. We’ll play some games, I’ll do my best to win you something despite the fact the system is rigged, and we’ll end the night on the ferris wheel.”
Before I could respond, Felix was already tugging me along as he dashed in past the gates, laughing maniacally and I couldn't help but burst out in laughter with him.
Tumblr media
I could smell his cologne as it enveloped me. I felt like sinking into his blazer that he passed me as soon as we got into the cab of the ferris wheel.
“I can’t believe you ended up winning this for me,” Felix sulked holding up the dinosaur plushie.
“Sorry. Should I keep it for myself instead?” I teased reaching out for it and he quickly pulled it back to him in a hug.
“No. I just hoped this date would go as planned.”
I scoffed playfully in response, looking out at the lights below. Despite the fact that Felix thinks his plan went slightly off track, it was still amazing. Playing games with Felix, cracking jokes and simply enjoying each other’s company made it the perfect first date. My heart palpitated just thinking back to when the night started up until now and I couldn't believe how it was making me feel.
I looked over at Felix and locked eyes with him. The way he was looking at me made my heart stop palpitating and instead clench. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach go crazy with the way his gaze held mine. It was as if I was the only thing that existed to him at that moment.
Or at least, that's what I had hoped.
I looked back to the lights below and cleared my throat.
“Geez Felix, you’re really taking this ‘first date’ role seriously huh?” The ground got closer and the ride went slower as our time on the ferris wheel ended.
Felix smiles his usual grin that turned his eyes to half crescents. “Of course! As I said, I’m making sure this was the best first date ever.”
Ah yes, he was just completely immersed in his act.
Unfortunately, I was also completely immersed in his act and I couldn't help but long for the night to stretch out just a little bit longer.
Tumblr media
We stood outside my apartment door and reality was slowly starting to come back to me.
I moved to take off the blazer to pass it back to Felix but he only shook his head and pulled it back onto my shoulders. “It’s fine, you gotta keep the look complete right?”
“Right… I want to thank you for today. It was honestly the best first date I could’ve hoped for and I really appreciate the time and effort you put into making it the best for me.”
The grin on his face was now a soft smile as he looked down at me.
“It was no problem at all. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.”
Whether it was intentional or not, Felix was back in his awkward state.
“Well, I should head in. Get home safe.” I turned to unlock my door but Felix caught my wrist, pulling me back to him gently.
“Wait, we should end this properly,” he stepped closer to me and lifted his hand to cup my cheek, “(Y/n), can I kiss you?”
His eyes bore into mine and had me trapped. I couldn't look away. It was as if he had some sort of power to reel me in and leave me speechless. I merely nodded my head.
I caught a glimpse of a small smile before he dipped his head down and captured my lips with his. Although it was very brief, I reveled  in every second of it before he pulled away.
With a small wave and sad heart, I thanked him as I closed the door.
The idea of my best friend taking me out on the best date ever was good but I had stupidly fallen for him. Heartbreakingly enough, we were no longer two people on a date but two best friends, and for the sake of my heart and sanity, I had to pretend one of the best nights of my life had never happened.
Tumblr media
I like the concept and the narrative and how I picture this in my head but I don’t think I’ve conveyed it to the best of my abilities here lol. I kinda just wanted to post something.

Hey, how about a scenario where jumin and/or v comforted an insecure chubby mc by showing her how much they love her body?? Um maybe you could make it nsfw 👉🏻👈🏻 hehe
Hell yeah!
Jumin with an insecure chubby MC:
Jumin:
You were sitting quietly on the table while people around you talked. Right now you were a party that Jumin had been invited to, and he asked you to come along with him. You didn’t really go with parties with him a lot, so you decided just this once it wouldn’t hurt.
You were wrong.
As soon as you got there a woman who looked like a model made her way over to Jumin and gave him a peck on the cheek. “Ah Mr. Han I’m so happy you were able to make it! Come come, I saved a seat just for you!”
You both made your way to the table, and as you sat down Jumin quickly introduced you to her. Apparently she had donde business with C&R in the past, and now she was thinking of making another deal. When he introduced you as his wife the woman had a look of shock in her face but quickly replaced it with a forced smile. “Ah...I see...nice to meet you” she said.
A waiter quickly came around and placed so many plates of food on the table, but you couldn’t eat. The woman was talking and flirting with Jumin, giggling at everything he said. She had even moved closer to him, and whenever they talked she acted as if you weren’t there at all. You weren’t sure if Jumin didn’t notice how uncomfortable you were, but she was a potential client, so you decided to keep your mouth shut.
“Oh I love this song! Mr. Han, why don’t we go and dance toghether for a bit?” She said while grabbing his arms. Jumin looked at you and started to refuse but then you forced a smile and told him that it was ok. The woman let out a squeal and basically pulled him to the dance floor, but Jumin turned around just to look at you one more time as if asking “is it really ok?”
You gave him a thumbs up and watched as both of them danced. They looked so perfect. You felt a pang of jealousy, and tears starting to form at the corner of your eyes, so you took you bag and left the place.
You quickly went into the parking lot, and walked over to your car where Driver Kim was waiting. “Mrs. Han, what are you doing here? The party isn’t over yet.” You quickly told him that you didn’t feel well, and told him he could take a break. Driver Kim didn’t really want to leave you alone, but he knew you needed space, so he went somewhere else.
As you sat in the backseat of your car you couldn’t hold it anymore, and you started crying.
You didn’t get it. Why would Jumin Han, THE Jumin Han want to be with someone like you? When he could have any other woman he wanted why in the world would he choose you? You hated yourself, you hated how you looked and every night you stayed awake because you just couldn’t understand. Sobs made their way out of your throat and your vision was blurry, tears falling on top of your hands and your dress. You didn’t want to go back there. You didn’t even want to see Jumin, you just wanted to spend some time by yourself.
You didn’t know how long you spent there crying. Tears couldn’t even fall out anymore, your face was puffy, and your throat hurt.
Then all of a sudden the car door opened and you let out a yelp, almost hitting your head on the roof.
“Love! I was looking for you everywhere what are you....” Jumin quickly stopped as he looked at you. Why did you look like you were crying? His face suddenly became filled with worry as he got into the car and closed the door, sitting close beside you.
You couldn’t even look at him. All of a sudden more tears began to form and you started crying again. Jumin stayed quiet as he rubbed your back, not knowing what to do.
After you calmed down a bit, he wiped your tears with his thumb, as he cupped your face in his hands. “Y/N...please tell me what’s wrong...I’m sorry I made you come to this party, if I knew you didn’t want to come I would’ve-”
“Why?” You asked him. Jumin was taken aback, his face turning from worried to confused. “I’m sorry love, I don’t think I understand your question. Could you please explain-” “Why are you with me? When you could have any other woman, who look prettier who are smarter...why did you choose me? You’ll be better with someone like, I don’t know that lady you were dancing with before, hell, you could literally choose ANYONE and you ended up with me?! Why me?! I’m not, I don’t, I shouldn’t be with you, I don’t deserve to be with you I-”
“Y/N” you stopped and looked up at him. You’d never seen Jumin like this before. He sighed and ran his hands through his hair, leaning back on the seat. “Is this really how you think of youself?” He asked you.
You looked down and nodded. You heard Jumin turn around and cup your face, but you didn’t want to look at him.
“Love...please look at me...”
You sniffed and slowly turned your face so you could see him. Jumin looked sad. And hurt.
“Jumin...I...” “Y/N. I love you. I love you so much and I will never ever stop loving you. You are the most beautiful, wonderful and amazing woman I have ever met, I-I don’t know what I would do without you in my life. You helped me so much, teaching me that it’s fine to show your emotions, showing me that someone could actually love me and not want to use me, to take advantage of me. You don’t need to look like a model for me to love you. I love you because you’re you. Y/N, you’re the best of wives and best of women.” He leaned closer so both of your foreheads would be touching.
You quickly felt the tears form again and rubbed your temples. “I’m sorry for crying so much and...getting sad over something stupid. I just...sometimes I just feel as if I don’t really deserve you.”
Jumin shook his head and let out a shaky breath. “Love, the one who truly doesn’t deserve you is me. You’re so amazing.” He caressed you cheek, then he quickly pulled you to him and kissed you, running his fingers through your hair. Soon, the kiss became more intense until both of you couldn’t breathe. He slowly pulled away and licked his lips, a hint of lust in his eyes.
“Let me show you...how much you mean to me...”
Jumin gently pushed you down so you could lay on the seats and started trailing hot and wet kisses down your neck. You let out a heated moan but then you stopped and pushed Jumin off, panting. “W-wait, what about the party? What if anyone sees us-”
“There’s no one out here love, and who cares about them? All I want right now is to be with the person I love the most...” you blushed and Jumin quickly loosened his tie, letting it fall to the floor. As you kissed, Jumin helped you unzip your dress and take your bra and panties off. He slowly started trailing kisses down your chest, licking and biting your nipples as you let out a heated moan. “Jumin....please...I...I need you...” you panted.
Jumin smirked as he looked down at you. “So impatient” he chuckled, “mmm, I guess I’ll have to make sure you get as much pleasure as possible~”
Jumin quickly took off his pants and underwear and rubbed the tip of his length against your entrance. You bit your lip and whimpered as you looked up to him. “Please Jumin, please I want you inside of me, please!”
“As you wish. Tonight I’m not holding back.”
You didn’t even have time to prepare yourself as Jumin thurst deep into you, making you moan loudly. He already knew the spot that you liked the most, and he made sure to thurst as hard as he could, each movement he made making you shudder and mewl in pleasure. He kissed you while his hand was cupping your breast rubbing, and pulling your nipple between his fingers. You wrapped you legs around him, both of you letting out another heated moan. Quickly his thrusts became rougher, more messy as he couldn’t get enough of you.
“J-Jumin...it’s...so...good!”
You felt youself quickly being driven to your peak, and you wrapped your legs tighter around him. Jumin kissed you deeply and then whispered in your ear. “Cum”
At that moment you let out the biggest pleasure filled scream and gasped as you felt a large amount of ecstasy run through you. Jumin kept thrusting into you while you orgasmed and he quickly followed suit, leaving the both of you a panting mess.
He pulled you close to him and buried his face in the crook of your neck. “Y/N...I love you so much..”
You spent a few minutes in your car, cuddling until you had to put your clothes back on and go back inside, since you didn’t want people looking for you.
Needless to say you felt much better, and the rest of the party was fun, since Jumin wouldn’t let go of you and wrapped one of his arms around your waist.
Later he grabbed your hand and pulled you on to the dance floor, and throughout the song he held you close and whispered how beautiful you looked and how much he loved you.
Later when you went home you didn’t sleep, as you both went for round two (wink wonk)
