copout i was raised catholic and we are strongly advised to never brag of good deeds or you don't get the high reappraisal price on ur shitbox neighborhood full to brimming with poors;
realtalk tho i didn't trust y'all. you were babysoft spoiled, terrorized, unmedicated. i was nearly retired at age 12 when i got displaced to that school district, it felt like i had to start all over with u ppl and i knew i couldn't use the same tactics that had worked at my elementary school.
that's my bad, tho, i should have spoken up, asked for help, gone public. i didn't have enough material or physical safety for myself, i bet i could have stuck around to help the town too if there had been anything like accessible healthcare and education for me.
but i saw you too, goongas and wookies and dusty turtle. i saw the unhoused given access to showers in popup gyms, given napping space in coffee houses, given ssris even if they forgot their insurance cards because the polski-lookin pharmacy marm knew them by name.
i tried to love my town extra hard when it was not loving me, but i could not sustain the deficit.
and so we say, the gypsies rock the boat, always before they roll out.
