So I’ve been thinking a lot about an evil Firestar and good Tigerstar au, and I couldn’t stop thinking
please excuse me while I go info dump about this battle kitties au
1: Firestar’s backstory is basically that he was living with Jake, Nutmeg, and Princess. All of his other littermates got adopted except for them
2: Then Nutmeg receives a message from a mysterious, starry cat, saying “Fire alone will consume the clans.”
3: But that couldn’t mean anything, right? (Wrong)
4: Nutmeg tells Jake about this the next day, he’s obviously concerned, he glances over to Rusty completely shredding up a toy, which only concerns him more
5: Jake is in fact so startled by this, that he leaves and never comes back.
6: Their twolegs look for him for days, but to no avail
7: This leaves the family in complete shock
8: Nutmeg feels incredibly guilty, as he left after she had told him about the weird dream, but doesn’t tell her kits
9: A few weeks later and Nutmeg suggests that her, Rusty, and Princess go on a walk in the woods
10: She says that they won’t go far and she’ll make sure nothing bad happens to them
11: So they go out and actually have fun for a little while, Rusty even catches a mouse. For once after Jake left, things were good
12: Until a patrol finds them, lead by Thistleclaw (I think you can see where this is going)
13: Thistleclaw immediately attacks Nutmeg and throws a few insults at the kits
14: He bites down on Nutmeg’s throat, killing her, the rest of the patrol stands there in shock (You can decide who was there)
15: Thistleclaw turns to Rusty and Princess and gives a toothy grin with his blood-stained teeth
16: They run back to their house and Thistleclaw turns back to the patrol (Who are definitely going to tattle on him)
17: Timeskip a few moons, Graypaw sees a ginger kittypet on ThunderClan territory
18: So he lunges at him, but to his surprise, he’s very strong and a really good fighter
19: Rusty taunts him a bit and pins Graypaw down, stepping on his throat
20: He’s basically about to kill him until Lionheart and Bluestar get him off
21: Rusty stares up at them in rage, and even a little bit of fear, he snarls at them and demands who they are
22: Lionheart and Bluestar are impressed at his ferocity, Graypaw especially
23: They introduce themselves and compliment him on his fighting abilities, much to the kittypet’s confusion
24: They talk a bit more and then they’re like, “Hey, kid. Wanna join our cult?” “Wait, what?”
25: Rusty is obviously taken aback by this, Bluestar says that he can tell them his decision tomorrow, and they leave.
26: Once they get back, Graypaw bolts to where Darkstripe is talking with Tigerclaw and Longtail
27: Darkstripe is immediately hesitant at the fact that this random stranger tried to kill his brother (That’s right! This is also a good Darkstripe au!)
28: The next day, Smudge walks up to Rusty, who’s sitting on the fence and staring out into the woods
29: He asks him what happened the day before, as he heard fighting
30: Rusty then explains that these freaks came to him asked if he wanted to join their cult (His words, not mine)
31: Smudge tries to talk Rusty out of it, one reason because he doesn’t want his friend killing people, the other reason is that he doesn’t want them killing Rusty
32: Princess then comes up to them and also tries to talk Rusty out of it
33: But it’s no use, the cats are already here.
34: Rusty jumps down to greet them he notices Whitestorm and Darkstripe, who wasn’t there yesterday
35: Whitestorm introduces himself and Darkstripe, who’s now towering over Rusty with a menacing glare
36: They tell him to lay off, and they head to the ThunderClan camp. But not before Rusty turns around and sends them a little wink

Please tell me you still have Fire permanently kill Darkstripe in BC though. That's one of the best parts.
WELL sorta. It's not going to be Firestar-- he's had enough badass cameos and someone else needs a turn.
I'm thinking it's Hawkfrost, actually
I want to turn him into a sort of... half-faded creature. Cheshire Cat of the Dark Forest. In the Great Battle he turned against Tigerstar and was mauled for it, but was able to get dragged back to the DF just in time.
But instead of respawning like the other DF spirits, when he double-died, it was partially permanent.
So he exists in this bizarre half-alive half-gone demon form, only existing for short periods of time. Enough to come save his apprentice Ivypool's daughter's mate, but not long enough to mount a resistance to the impostor.
And, importantly, enough to still enjoy the Dark Forest he had come to truly love, with its evil horses and blood-sap. A ghost among ghosts.

I WAS THERE ON THE DAY THEY SOLD THE CAUSE FOR THE QUEEN

what’s her relationship with darkstripe?
Princess and Darkstripe are. Tough.
From Princess’s perspective, especially as she comes from a place outside the clans but is also the cat targeted by him, he’s sad. He is a grown cat but she looks at him and sees a teen. She’s sorry for him even when he plots against her.
I haven’t fully plotted it out but I don’t think I want him to die. It’s too upsetting to me for his character. I think Princess drags him back after the final battle and patches him up herself (having learned the basics from Spot, Yellow and Cinder). Despite many in the clan telling her to kill him for his crimes she can’t. He’ll take awhile to heal physically and all of his life to heal mentally but he does. The moment he’s healed enough to mostly move he bolts but he comes back, and she lets him back. I want him to have a good arc of realizing how he was scarred and addressing it properly.
Darkstripe absolutely hated her bc that’s what he was told to feel. Eventually tho he’d realize what she did to him. Just how she saved him. He pays her back for this by being one of her loyalist allies but also a friend. I think maybe for a bit he’d fall back into being a full follower before she reminds him he is his own cat and that just makes him trust her more.

A test chapter of an au im working on- this is NOT the frostthaw au- this is the fallenhawkau
---------□□□□□□□□■■■■■□■□■□■□
Snowkit sat in the middle of the camp, his tail flicking as he chased clumsily after a golden butterfly, his pink-tipped white ears flicking and bouncing around as he leapt after it.
He made a sound that could have been a huff as his ears and tail drooped slightly - he had missed the butterfly and it had quickly flittered away.
His blue eyes were narrowed in concentration, he could feel vibrations in his paws as other cats milled around the camp and as the wind was brushing past his legs, the long white fur tufts bouncing and flowing in the wind at his movements as he bunched up his hind quarters, getting ready to pounce at a plant in front of him after the butterfly had escaped from his not so gentle grasp.
The plant- was it lavender?- was flowing in the wind erratically yet softly, the purple bunches bouncing energetically as if they were waving at him happily or in glee.
His soft white tail flicked as his interest was taken off of the lavender in front of him, he noticed cats quickly running into their dens or leaping under shelter, he looked at them in confusion and slight fear, as some of them looked up at the sky- eyes wide as their fur bushed up and their tails bristled.
Snowkit yelped loudly, a strangled toke to his voice, as he was yanked odd of the ground by sharp claws that dug into his soft sides, he looked down at the camp in fear as he was slowly picked up.

Darkstripe looked up in surprise, he wasn't a good cat by any means... at least he didn't think he was, but he couldn't let a kit die, could he?
No other cat stepped forwards to attack the hawk, so he took the chance.
A black streak raced across the camp at an alarming speed, his tail flowing behind him rigidly as he leapt up into the air- his claws extended and his eyes narrowed in aggression, an angry amber glow emitting from them as he leapt across the camp.
Sharp rigid claws made contact with the hawk's brown feathered wings, some of its feathers being yanked out as he pulled it down slightly, his maw was open in a silent yowl- his sharp teeth showing off as a stark contrast against his dark smokey tabby fur.
The hawk began falling, and Darkstripe didn't let go until the hawk released the deaf white kitten.
They both began falling towards the ground, Darkstripe growled, pulling Snowkit into his thick furred chest as they hit the ground, blood dripped out of Snowkits wounds and he was shaking in fear and shock- tears in the corners of his blue eyes- Darkstripe wasn't looking much better, blood dripped from one of his eyes and trickled out of his mouth and nose, he spat some out onto the ground.
A red splatter sat in front of him, a contrast between the deep red blood and the calm green grass.
Darkstripe was breathing heavily, exhaustion suddenly taking over his features as he stayed slightly side to side as he sat on his haunches cautiously, hesitance in his movements as he tried not to fall over, his breath coming out in small sudden deep gasps.
Snowkit sat down, his eyes wide as he sat still in shock- save for the occasional shiver.
Cinderpelt hobbled over quickly, trying to assess the situation, before shouting something to Brightheart in a frantic yet professional tone, her eyes showing urgency as she ordered cats around the camp, the apprentices looking on in terror and shock until they were given tasks.
Darkstripe didn't have an apprentice, the clan didn't seem to trust him still- even after he hadn't followed Tigercl-star.
Sandstorm had sent her apprentice- Fernpaw- quickly to get some watered moss at Cinderpelts orders; Snowkit and Darkstripe were carried- or in the dark tabbies case, half dragged, half carried- to the medicine den, being settled carefully yet quickly into nests.
Darkstripe kept dozing off, aware yet unable to do anything in his state of exhaustion and pain, his vision was bleary and his hearing was foggy, a haze settles over his mind as he felt someone prodding him- trying to wake him up; before he dozed off he was fed something- some herb for any shock and pain and poultices were plastered onto his wounds.
He fell asleep finally.

I was rereading chapters 3 and 4 of Into the Wild today to check a few details for a thing I'm intending to write and I found it interesting how it's explicitly pointed out Dustpaw being reassigned to Darkstripe would make him the latter's first ever apprentice. It was so ingrained in my brain that he was Longtail's mentor as well and I wondered if that was in fact canon to the first arc or if it was a later retcon/word of god or even just such an ubiquitous headcanon that I forgot it wasn't canon. So I go check the wiki to see what their reference is for that tidbit is and what do you know? It apparently was stated in Fire and Ice page 214! So it took them like. A single book to retcon that. Never change Erin Hunter.

Imagining a scene that mirrors the one where Firestar has his collar removed for the DarkSash AU but like in some event(maybe rain) causes her collar to call off and Darkstripe gifts it back to her knowing how much she cared about it.
Look scene parallels are my entire jam, jelly, and jello
I really enjoy this idea you have! I like the idea of DarkStripe doing that as a sign that he's starting to change when it comes to outsiders , like Kittypets, he's growing and changing as a character, good for him.
Funny you mention this actually, I have a scene in the au that's pretty similar to this! The scene I have itself still needs a bit of work but Sasha does end up finding her old collar and she thinks back to when TigerStar demanded that she get rid of it but she shakes that thought away and decides to keep it with her. Oh, DarkStripe is there too he's just watching it happen, he definitely goes through a little arc where he goes away from that xenophobic clan cat bullshit mindset

still really fond of my headcanon that sandstorm was an orphaned windclan kit that was taken to thunderclan because there were no nursing queens at the time and part of sandpaw’s shitty attitude was that she felt like she had to prove herself and overcompensate because she was alone with no family in a clan that didnt let her forget she was an outsider
