Ultra Despair Siege: Part 2.
Tumblr media
Alright. What’s your plan?
Tumblr media
Lots of those guys are gonna come flooding in here in a sec. I need time to prepare my Ultimate Attack.
Tumblr media
What, is this a video game now?
Tumblr media
Just trust me. Toko and I have been perfecting this.
Tumblr media
But in order for it to work, you need to stick these discs on as many people as you can. It’ll emit a small elecronic wave through their bodies and-
Tumblr media
make the hacking gun work on them, I know.
*Makoto takes a set of discs. He hands half his pile to Maya.
Tumblr media
There still might be a lot, so be careful.
Tumblr media
Don’t worry. Backup is on the way.
Tumblr media
Backup?
Tumblr media
You’ll see.
Guards: SURROUND THEM!
Tumblr media
Looks like the cavalry arrived!
Tumblr media
Bring ‘em on! I’ll take them all on myself if I have to!
Tumblr media
Let’s go!
Tumblr media
HYRAGH!
Guards: GAGH!
*Akeru jumps forward first and plants her foot straight into one of the guards. They try to surround her, but she very swiftly takes care of them. She sticks discs to them as they go down.
Tumblr media
Watch out Komaru! Enemies at 6 o’clock!
Tumblr media
I know! I know! Quit nagging me big bro!
*Komaru tosses discs at all the approaching enemies and starts to go ham. She shoots one in the chest and sends him flying back. A second one tries to tackle her, but she kicks her in the chest. She then shoots and takes down the two behind her without turning her back.
Tumblr media
*SMACK!*
Guard: UGH!
*She roundhouse kicks another approaching enemy.
Tumblr media
I’m really starting to think things would’ve been better here had you not crashed our plan.
Tumblr media
Hey, YOU crashed OUR heist! How was I supposed to know you were faking being kidnapped!?
Tumblr media
Can you two maybe save the sibling squabble for later when we AREN’T in the process of getting killed!?
Tumblr media
I just gotta smack these discs on them, right?
*Maya makes a good point, then rushes towards an approaching enemy hoard. She ducks under one of their swings and uppercuts them into the air. She then spins around to avoid another attack, then spin kicks that enemy.
Tumblr media
Bring it on! I dare ya’!
Tumblr media
...!
Guards: GET HER!
Guards: STOP MOVING!
Tumblr media
KIYAGH!
Guards: OOOGH!
Tumblr media
RAAGGH!
Guards: GAAAGH!
*Not to far away, a collection of guards assault Toko, but the purple-haired girl is far too fast for them to keep up with. After wearing them out, Toko launches herself at them and slams into half of them with her whole body. She lands on her feet, skids along the floor, and then body slams into the other half of the group.
Tumblr media
TGGGGH! YAGH!
Guards: OOOAAGH!
*When they go down, Toko grasps and holds one of the downed guards by his legs, then yanks him up and spins him around, smacking him into other approaching guards. She swiftly attaches discs to them all when they go down.
Guards: HOLD STILL!
Tumblr media
Not happening! HYAGH!
Guard: GOOF!
*Makoto rolls out of the way as one of the guards takes a swing at him with a baton. The guard then gives chase, but Makoto rushes towards a pillar and flips off of it, getting above him. He plants both his feet directly into the attacking guards face, knocking him into the ground, and then proceeding to roll to safety.
Guard: RAGH!
Tumblr media
GOPGH!
*While he’s recovering, another guard runs over and smacks him straight in the middle of his back.
Tumblr media
Ngh!
Guard: The hell!?
Tumblr media
*POW!*
Guard: BRAAGAHAGH!
*They raise the baton for another swing, but Makoto grabs a disc and plants it on their chest. Before they have any time to retaliate, Komaru shoots her with a paralyze bullet.
Tumblr media
Phew...thanks a-
Tumblr media
*flick*
Tumblr media
GHAOW! What was THAT for!?
Tumblr media
For making me want to kill you.
Tumblr media
HIYAGH!
*As another guard rushes towards Komaru and Makoto, Akeru rushes forward and drop kicks them.
Tumblr media
Mom, Uncle Koto, could you two seriously cut it out? You’re going to get BOTH of you killed.
Tumblr media
Oh shit...! RPG!
Tumblr media
!!??
Tumblr media
!!??
Tumblr media
!!??
*At Maya’s cry, one of the guards readies a rocket launcher, and aims it at the siblings.
Tumblr media
Alright then...! YOU’RE UP!
*Toko beelines it for the guard, and plants her taser at her head. She triggers it, and then suddenly gets a burst of speed.
Guard: WHAT!?
Tumblr media
KEHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Guess who’s BAAAACK~!
*Jill launches herself at the rocket guard, just as he fires his rocket. The rocket flies up and crashes through the roof of the mansion, bursting through the skylight and exploding outside.
Tumblr media
Ah-!?
Tumblr media
AKERU! MOVE!
Tumblr media
HMPH!
*WHOOSH!*
Tumblr media
WAHOO!
*Pieces of debris start to fall from the ceiling, and very nearly crush Akeru, but before they can flatten her, Genocide Jill throws a pair of scissors like a throwing knife. The scissors ensnare Akeru’s shoulder garb and the momentum sends her flying back and pinned to the wall, out of harms way.
Tumblr media
Kid! You alright!?
Tumblr media
Yeah! Thank you Auntie Jill!
Tumblr media
Ok, so...what the hell is happening?
Tumblr media
Wha-That’s MY question!?
Tumblr media
Who the hell are you?
Tumblr media
THAT’S MY QUESTION!
Tumblr media
Look, I’ll give you the full explanation later.
Tumblr media
Oh, hey Big Mak. Long time no see.
Tumblr media
Guys. We don’t have time to talk.
*Komaru runs over to Akeru and plucks Jill’s scissors out of the wall, freeing her. She tosses the scissors back to Jill, who catches them.
Tumblr media
Ok, Jill, all you’ve gotta know is we’re under attack. Stick as many discs to these guys as you can so we can use our super move.
Tumblr media
Oooh hehehe! Got it!
Tumblr media
Komaru, you guys get them. Maya, with me!
Tumblr media
Got it!
*Komaru, Jill and Akeru rush towards one set of guys, and Makoto and Maya tackle the other incoming group.
Tumblr media
Hold on...please work...please please work...
Tumblr media
What are you doing?
*As they hold off the incoming group, Maya suddenly puts something over her hand and starts to fiddle with it.
Tumblr media
Sorry uh...pleaseworkpleaseworkpleasework.
Guards: WOAAGH!
Tumblr media
!!?
Tumblr media
YES!
*CATCH!* *WHOOSH!*
*Fiddling with the buttoned glove on her hand, Maya summons the levitating spear weapon from before. She holds out her hand, and it flies straight into it.
Tumblr media
HUAGH!
Tumblr media
RAAGH!
*Maya wields the polearm and smacks one of the guards right into the jaw, sending him flying upwards. In a similar motion, Makoto flip kicks another guard behind her. They back up and square their foes down back to back.
Tumblr media
Nice. I’m surprised you kept that thing.
Tumblr media
I’m not gonna let good weaponry go to waste. And come on dude, it’s a flying spear!
Tumblr media
In that case, work with me!
Tumblr media
I got it!
Guards: GET THEM!
Tumblr media
HMPH!
Guard: OOF!
Guard: DIIIE!
Tumblr media
NOGH!
Guard: Eh!?
Tumblr media
HIYAAARGH!
Guard: WAAAAHAAAGGH!!
*Makoto rushes forward and kicks one guard in the face, knocking her back. When another rushes from behind, he grabs them by the wrist and holds them in place. Maya then proceeds to rush up and take a hefty swing, smacking the guy and sending him flying up into the air and back down again!
Tumblr media
Woah! That’s gonna hurt in the morning!
MAYA!
Tumblr media
EH!?
Tumblr media
HORYAGH!
Guard: GAHOGH!
Tumblr media
HNGH!
*PEW!* *PEW!*
Guard: OURGH
Tumblr media
YAARGH!
Guard: AAUGH!
*Using the previous attack as an opportunity, two of the guards try to clothesline Maya with their batons. Before they have a chance to, Makoto lurches forward, spins in the air and kicks on of the attack soldiers right in the face. He then snatches his electric taser pistol, and shoots two shots into the other. Maya grabs the spear, reels back, and launches that guard into a small group of others.
Tumblr media
Phew...thanks ma-AAAGH!
Tumblr media
MAYA! Ah!?
*Before Maya can give proper thanks, she’s suddenly charge tackled by an unarmed soldier. Another soldier also rushes up to Makoto, armed with heavy weapon.
Tumblr media
NINJJAAGH!
Guard: GAHAGHCK!
*Before they can bash Makoto’s head in, Akeru jumps on their shoulders and slams them into the ground.
Tumblr media
*flick!*
*Akeru hops up and flicks Makoto on the forehead.
Tumblr media
OW!
Tumblr media
Be careful!
Tumblr media
Ugh...You can tell you two are mother and daughter...
Tumblr media
Hoiyagh!
Guards: GET THAT KID!
Tumblr media
!!?
Tumblr media
It’s ok, I got this shit! Help the kid!
*Makoto turns back to Maya, who is still pinned to the ground, but is mercilessly pounding her attackers head in with her fist. Makoto turns his attention towards Akeru, who faces down a group of soldiers.
Tumblr media
Hup! Nohah! Hmph! YAH!
*Akeru plants a solid punch into the gut of one of the approaching guards, and then immediately turns around to catch another guards attack as he brings his baton down on her. She kicks him dead in the gut and knocks him down, instinctively ducking as another guard swings with an iron pipe at the back of her head. She spins around and smacks him under the jaw.
Tumblr media
Oh!?
Tumblr media
!!??
Tumblr media
HUUAAAAAGH! DAGH!
Guard: AHOGH!
Tumblr media
AKERU! Use it!
Tumblr media
Right! HYAAGGH!
Guards: WHOOAAGH!
*The iron pipe wielded by the last guy goes soaring up into the air. Seeing an opportunity, Makoto takes a run up, sprints up the nearest wall and flips off of it. He grabs the pipe midair and throws it straight at a guard attacking Akeru, hitting him right in his face. The pipe flips through the air, and with Makoto’s shout, Akeru catches it. She then spins around, and in one swift and powerful motion, knocks all of the surrounding guys down.
Tumblr media
GHRGH! GEGH! NGH!
Tumblr media
Komaru! HUGH!
Guard: DOGH!
Tumblr media
Hup!
Guards: Wha-!? GAGH!
Tumblr media
HMPH!
Guards: ACK!
*Makoto lands on his feet, and spots Komaru getting assaulted from all angles by armed guards. Instinctively, Makoto rushes towards the guards and picks up a small piece of debris. He throws the debris and nails one of the guards in the back of the head, stunning him. The other two guards take a swing, but Makoto flips on top of the stunned guards shoulders and kicks both of them in the face simultaneously.
Tumblr media
Thanks! TERYAGH!
Guard: AHACK!
*Komaru wheels around, grabs the last guy by his head, and knees him in the face with her metal leg.
Tumblr media
*pant!* *pant!* I got ‘em!
Tumblr media
Oh good. Komaru, is this enough?
Tumblr media
Yeah, should be! TOKO!
Tumblr media
BACHOO!
Tumblr media
Ugh...Yeah!?
Tumblr media
It’s time!
Tumblr media
Already? Ok!
Tumblr media
You guys might wanna duck!
Tumblr media
Uh...ok?
*With all the guards either downed or chipped, Komaru and Toko jump onto the stage and stand back to back with each other.
Tumblr media
You ready!?
Tumblr media
‘Course I am!
*Komaru aims her hacking gun at the incoming crowd, and Toko joins her taser with her.
Tumblr media
Get ready for the power of the Ultra Despair Girls!
Tumblr media
FIRE!
*KER-PYEEEWWWWWWWOMM!!*
Guards: DRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGHHHHH!!!
*Using a similar move as to what they used years ago to destroy Big Bang Monokuma, Komaru and Toko launch a powerful attack of energy from the hacking gun. All the guards are taken out immediately, and power in the mansion completely goes dark!

Prompt: Time-Travel
Prompt – Time Travel
It was another fine day in Gravity Falls. Squirrels were chasing each other, baby birds were chirping for food, and the local citizens went about their business, blissfully unaware of the rumored-weirdness that surrounded the valley.
In the town’s tourist-trap, the Mystery Shack, two young workers were sitting behind the register, looking bored. One was a short, scrawny pre-teen with shaggy, brown hair covered by a cap featuring a pine-tree. The other was a tall, lanky redheaded girl in flannel and sporting a trapper-hat. They were the best of friends (or partners-in-crime, depending on who you ask); and at that moment, they’d rather have been anywhere else.
“Ugh! Dipper! Why’s your uncle making us sit here? This place is half-dead! We’ve had, what? Sixteen customers all day, and maybe three of them wanted to buy something?” the girl said, laying across the counter.
“Yeah. Well, it’s Stan, Wendy. ‘Any potential sucker is basically a customer, and customers have money, so don’t miss an opportunity to get some!’”
“Nice one. But seriously, dude, I wish we could go on some adventure. Heck, I’ll take anything: scary or cheesy,” the girl said confidently.
“Really?” Dipper replied, looking at her. “You’d stoop to something out of our B-movie collection?”
Wendy paused, clearly giving this some thought. “Well…”
“The Crawling Deer-Demon-Duck is hiding in that condemned-house, Cassandara!” Dipper said in a low-baritone, his face pouting with mock-bravery. “What kind of brave seventeen-year-old slight bad-boy would I be if I didn’t go in there alone to try and stop it?”
Accepting his challenge, Wendy stood up. “Oh, Drewson! You can’t! It’s too dangerous!” she replied, adopting a terrible accent of a Southern-belle. She put the back-end of her hand on her forehead dramatically, while using her other to grab his sleeve. “I won’t let you go into that condemned house where the Deer-Demon-Duck is hiding!”
Dipper gently moved her hand away and faced her more directly. “But you have to let me!”
“Oh, Drewson!!!” Wendy lamented, now looking Dipper in the eyes.
“Cassandara…” Dipper did the same…
The two’s faces came closer and closer…
Meanwhile, from two different ends of the Shack, a couple of thirteen-year-olds watched with interest. One, a fit-looking, freckle-faced girl with brown hair, stared with wide-eyes; she had her hands over her mouth as she barely suppressed a squeal. It was just too cute and hilarious! The other was a bulky young-man with copper hair. He just rolled his eyes and shook his head, chuckling.
Wendy and Dipper’s faces were now inches from one another; neither breaking the act. Just as it seemed they were about make contact…
*FLASH!*
“Bwaaaahhh!!!” cried out a voice of pure-chaos.
…A white flash of light and a subsequent familiar-sounding snap caught them off-guard (and momentarily blinded the duo).
“Hey!” Dipper shouted.
“What the heck?!” Wendy replied, blinking to get her sight back.
“You guys! That was adorable!” Mabel, Dipper’s twin who sported braces, a homemade sweater, and thick, long brown cried out.
“Mabel?” said Wendy. “How long have you been there?”
“Long enough to hear all that!” the energetic girl told her friend while holding a photo-camera.
“W-We were imitating a scene from one of our movies!” Dipper replied quickly, his face suddenly a deep-red.
“Tomato-Potato! A smooch-scene’s a smooch-scene! Look!” Mabel told them, holding up an instant-photo. Looking closer, it featured Dipper and Wendy, inches apart and puckered up. “And I thought your only chest-hair was scrapbook-material, Dip!”
“Mabel, you better throw that away!” Dipper told his sister, while Wendy just shook her head, a hand covering her eyes.
“Nope! Scrapbook-ortunity!” Mabel opened her scrapbook and, finding a spot that was (relatively) empty, put the photo in. “Boom! Now, I just need some glue! Be right back!”
Mabel ran into the house to look around, leaving her brother and friend alone and little embarrassed.
Dipper looked at his redheaded crush. “Sorry, Wendy. She didn’t need to do that.”
“It’s whatever, dork. I mean, we were kind of cutting it close. That’s what happens when you play chicken.”
“Yeah… I’m gonna destroy it before she gets back,” Dipper said, reaching out for the scrapbook.
“No, don’t!” Wendy replied, putting her hand on his shoulder.
“Wendy, you know she’ll show people. What’ll our friends think? I don’t want you to get embarrassed,” the younger Mystery-Twin said to the redhead.
“Thanks, but if everyone starts laughing, we can just say we’re great actors. After all, I’d pick you over the lead in that cheesy-film any day,” Wendy reassured Dipper, a gentle smile on her face.
Not knowing what to say, the blushing twelve-year-old just awkwardly chuckled.
“Hey!” shouted a gravelly-voice from inside the house. “Can somebody help me with this pimple on my back! I don’t need it bothering me on my next tour!”
Wendy turned to look at her dork, looking a little nonplussed. “…We should probably run before Stan singles us out.”
“To the roof, you think?” Dipper asked.
“Nah, I’m starved. Let’s hit Greasy’s. There’s a great lunch-special if we hurry.”
The nigh-inseparable duo quietly rushed off, leaving the gift-shop completely unattended. With that, the two customers slowly approached the counter, awkwardly looking around.
“Well, that was adorable and weird,” the girl told the boy around her age.
The large boy shrugged. “Definitely right on the latter.” He turned to face the girl. “How has your day been progressing?”
“Uh, fine I guess?” she replied, not used to hearing a greeting in such context. “How about yours?”
“Can’t complain. So… the gift-shop’s abandoned, it looks like,” the boy said, looking around.
“I guess so. Someone could steal something from here and no one would notice.”
“True. Looks like the rumors of this place sparing every expense were true,” the boy said with a chuckle. “Are you planning on stealing something?”
“No! Of course not!” the girl replied with a huff. As the boy looked away, she discreetly took a glance at the scrapbook left behind.
“Well, that’s good. Lots of punk-teens wouldn’t think twice about robbing this place blind,” he told her.
“Fair point,” The girl replied. She reached a small hand out. “I’m May, by the way.”
The other teen answered by clasping it with a meaty-looking hand of his own. “Cool. That’s my sister’s name. I’m Danny.”
For a second, the girl called May’s eyes widened, before narrowing suspiciously. Danny suddenly realized she wasn’t letting go of his hand.
“No, it isn’t,” she replied curtly. “My brother’s Danny!”
As she said that, the other teen frowned before his eyes mirrored the girl. They stared momentarily before pouncing. May attempted to pull “Danny” toward her. Danny, however, was ready. He spun and pulled the hand still clasping his behind the girl’s back. With her momentarily caught off-guard, he pushed her into one of the aisles. He quickly snatched the scrapbook from the counter before racing out the door. May, after stopping herself from hitting a wall, turned to see no scrapbook near the register. She immediately rushed outside to find the boy.
Behind the Mystery Shack, Danny was going rummaging the somewhat sticky-pages of the book he snatched, careful not let anything besides some glitter fall out from between. Finally, his eyes settled on his objective. He was just about to take it when-
“Hey, you!” Danny turned towards an angry-looking May, her fist punching her other palm. “That’s stealing! I don’t know who you are, but I’m not letting you have that!” she shouted.
“Please!” he replied. “As if you weren’t planning on it. I’m smarter than I look, you know!” he accused the girl, who gritted her teeth at his comeback. “And for your information, I’m me! And you’re not you!”
With that, the two of them raced towards each other. This time, however, May slid between the large boy’s legs and got behind him. Before he could react, she grabbed him underneath his shoulders. With him successfully in a headlock, May reached for the book in the redheaded boy’s hand. Realizing what she was trying to do, Danny swung back-and-forth, trying to make May let go of him.
Caught off-guard, the strong girl actually lost her grip on one of his arms for a minute, though she quickly regained it by getting her arm around his neck. However, this wasn’t enough. He reached behind, and this time, he got ahold of May’s shirt, enabling him to throw her off, despite her attempts to hold onto his head. (She even grabbed and stretched his mouth in the process).
She landed with a thud but was quick to get back on her feet. And May was immediately shocked by the sight before her. Next to this guy’s feet was the scrapbook of Mabel, apparently dropped when she made him throw her off. But on the other side of “Danny” laid what looked like a rubber-mask of his face. The head on his body now sported something else: a head that she could only describe as resembling an oversized pistachio, but with red-eyes and sharp teeth.
The creature posing as a human, realizing he was exposed, quickly grabbed his mask and slipped it back on with a growl. Now indiscernible from a human, he wagged what May assumed was a false finger, clearly ticked by that. He charged at her, only for her to roll out of the way. She tried a roundhouse-kick, only for the disguised teen to catch her foot. When May tried to break out, she lost her balance, enabling Danny to catch her from behind the same way she had him.
However, May was ready this time. As this guy grabbed her underneath her shoulders, May somersaulted backwards and caught Danny’s neck with her shoes. With all of her might, she used her legs to throw Danny forward, headfirst! He landed with a loud thud, giving May time to grab the book and escape.
Danny, checking to make sure his mask was straight, raced to catch up to May. He went around the side and rushing in the general direction she ran, saw her carefully moving around a large hole not too far from the Mystery Shack. Taking off a hand-shaped glove, he launched a vine-like appendage and grabbed May’s leg, tripping her and pulling her back. At the same time, she dropped the book near the edge of the long drop. Danny rushed forward and picked it up.
Of course, by this time, May was back on her feet. She charged with all he had and slammed her shoulder into the creature’s costumed-midsection, making him drop the book again. “OW!” They both shouted after May made contact.
Danny rubbed the spot where he got rammed with one hand and pushed her back with his other. He then looked at the pained girl strangely. “That was… You tackle just like May does; only weaker. Who are-? Hey, you okay?”
“Do I look okay?” May was clutching her shoulder, and as the boy could see more plainly, it didn’t look quite right.
“You’re hurt.” Before Danny could say more, the edge of the hole he was standing by gave way. He fell and, because he was still holding onto May, ended up pulling her in, too.
They both fell, screaming all the way down, only realize that they didn’t seem to be getting there anytime soon.
“Wait… I know what this is! We’re in the Bottomless Pit!” May said in realization.
“Oh, yeah! Haven’t seen the inside of this I was five…” Danny thought out loud.
“So you say!” May snapped. “Stop pretending already and tell me what the heck you are! Running into you is like crashing into a tree-trunk! What the heck?!”
Danny paused. “Okay, seeing as you look like you’re hurting, and I’m not, I’m going to call a truce. I’m willing to talk if you are, but I’d rather check your arm first. Is that cool with you?”
“Fine,” May grumbled, seeing no options at the moment. She was at a disadvantage, and if this monster could reach her, she’d be in trouble.
“Alright. Now, stay calm and try not to freak out.” Danny took a hand-shaped glove off and from where it was, slowly extended a vine in May’s direction. It gently went around the teenager’s midriff and pulled her towards him. It was plain to see she was suspicious. “Let me see…” Using his other hand, he poked May’s shoulder.
“Augh!” she grunted.
“Yeah… Looks like you dislocated your shoulder,” Danny assessed with a shudder. “You meatbags and your weird bodies.”
“MEATBAGS?! Look who’s talking!”
“Hey, it is basically what you are. You’re like, mostly water, aren’t you?”
“Well, yeah…” May admitted awkwardly. “But that’s still rude.”
“Right. Sorry,” he apologized sheepishly. “Look, we can’t do anything until we come back up, so we might well as chat and find what the heck is going on here; maybe why you want that scrapbook so much.”
“You took it first,” May replied. “What about you? Also, would you mind letting go of me?”
“Can do.” Danny retracted his vine, allowing May to freefall on her own, then slipped his glove back on over his branch-like hand.
“Okay, so… who the heck are you? I’ve lived in Gravity Falls all of my life; I know that names being alike isn’t some coincidence.” May said.
“Agreed. I’m Danny Pines,” said the strange-teen. “And I’m assuming you’re May Pines.”
“Yeah. May Pines: daughter of Mason and Wendy Pines,” May stated proudly.
“Those are my parents’ names,” Danny replied, an eyebrow raised.
“Weird. My brother’s human, and he doesn’t look much like whatever that costume is you’re wearing. Are you being honest that you’re who you say you are?”
“Yes, I am,” Danny replied, starting to sound annoyed. “Look, I’m a plant-person, okay? So is most of the family, along with the half-the-town where I’m from. We wear disguises to blend in with humans… And what’s wrong with the way I look?”
“Well, for starters, my Danny’s not built like you. He’s muscular, but like the lean-kind. And he’s tall. You kind of have a build like my uncles on Mom’s side of the family. Plus, your face kind of looks like Aunt Mabel’s. He’s got more of one that looks kind of like Grandpa Dan,” May said thoughtfully.
“Huh. Go figure. I never actually wondered if my disguise was accurate… As for my height, I can safely tell you I’m taller than I look. I basically slouch in this costume,” Danny told her. “And my May’s costume doesn’t have you so good, either.”
“Really? Why?” May asked.
“Well, her mask has red-hair and no freckles. And your nose definitely isn’t Mom’s.”
“Oh. I always wondered how I’d look with red hair…” May thought out loud. “Uh, so… why the heck were you trying to take that book?”
“Why do you need it?”
May sighed in resignation. “Look, I’m looking for an anniversary-present for Mom and Dad. I remember Aunt Mabel told me about some cute picture in her scrapbook that went missing. It was that little scene with Mom and Dad from a little earlier. Apparently, it disappeared. It’d be a good gift, and I thought maybe it was me taking it after Blendin Blandin loaned me his Time-Tape that caused it disappear. Now, I’m wondering if it vanishes because you steal it.”
“What a coincidence. I was planning on getting that as an anniversary present for them, too. Well, my version of Mom and Dad.”
“Yeah… How’s that work again? I’m already assuming this is probably one of those Other-Dimension/Universe deals. Or maybe even another timeline,” asked May
“Really? How would that last one work? New timelines always replace old ones, right?” Danny replied.
“I don’t know. I don’t do this for a liv-Oh! We’re coming back up!”
About a minute later, the two thirteen-year-olds found themselves back outside the Bottomless Pit, not a minute gone by since they fell in. Immediately, they stepped away, quick to attend to more important matters. Well, besides the picture in Mabel’s scrapbook, anyway. (Danny quickly picked that up).
“Alright,” Danny said after making sure no one was around. “I’m not an expert, but I’ve been taught the basics of human-skeletons. We’ve gotta fix that arm.”
“Right. Uh, one sec.” May used her good arm to pull a coin-purse out of her pocket. From there, she pulled out a piece of wood with some bite-marks and stuck it in her mouth. “Do your worst.”
Danny put one hand on her forearm; the other on her shoulder. “This is gonna hurt. I’m going to count to five. Got it?” May nodded, and Danny counted. “One… Two… Five.”
A shrill, girly scream echoed through the valley. A scream rivaled only by those who were unfortunate enough to stick an appendage into the infamous “Pain Hole”.
“You okay?” Danny asked, concerned.
“Yeah,” May grunted, rolling her shoulder a couple of times. “This actually happens more often than you think. I’ll be fine in a couple of days.
“Well, I guess that’s one thing you humans have over us,” the boy said, shaking his head. “Your broken limbs don’t have to stay broken. We need to regrow ours. It’s pretty rough.”
“I guess… So, is your time like that lizard-people timeline or something? Dad and Aunt Mabel said something like that happened or was talked about when they were hunting for treasure one time.”
“I don’t remember either of them talking about that,” Danny said, shrugging. “All I know is that my version of Mom and Dad were turned into plants outside of Gravity Falls, and that there was time-travel involved. Come to think of it, I wonder if maybe Time-Wishes have something to do with this.”
May raised an eyebrow. “I don’t follow.”
“They’re paradox-free, but what if they don’t line up with the future. And they can’t be part of a time-loop, either. That’s another paradox. But splitting timelines might make for a good technicality, especially if they lead to the same futures or something.”
“…You read a lot of science-fiction, don’t you?” May deadpanned.
Danny shrugged. “When I’m camping. Yeah.”
“So… you think maybe we come from different branches and that this is a shared-moment in the past?”
“In a nutshell. No pun intended.”
May shrugged. “Anything’s possible. So, how are things in your timeline? Is the Shack still standing?”
“Yeah. Uncle Soos is doing a great job with it.”
“Nice! Does Arctica exist in in that time? Do you like-like her?” May asked in a sly voice.
“N-No! I mean, uh, yes… and no!” Danny replied quickly.
“Oh my gosh! I knew it!” May said, almost squealing. “Everyone knows! Me, our parents, our friends! Aunt Pacifica sure approves! So does-!”
“Wait! Pacifica… She’s alive in your time?” Danny asked, looking a bit shocked.
“Yeah. Is she not…? Oh, man! What happened?” May replied, looking very concerned.
“She just got sick. Last year, I think. That kind of thing’s one drawback to being human, I guess. Still, everyone was there, so I think she was comfortable, at least,” Danny told his sister from what might be an alternate-timeline.
“Shoot…” May thought out loud.
“Sorry to bring the mood down. So, does Chaz still try to keep his distance from you and your cooties?”
“As if! He’s just intimidated by my tackle!”
“Sure… No doubt that’s why he and Drake Jr. tried to discover a vaccine for them,” Danny said with a chuckle. “Dad thinks they might be onto rediscovering the Philosopher’s Stone instead.”
“So, Aunt Mabel married Uncle Drake in your timeline, too?”
“Yep.”
“Great… Two versions of our uncle to pass on his terrible driving skills two different versions of our cousin,” May said in exasperation.
“Don’t forget our siblings…” Danny added.
“Siblings? What siblings?” May asked.
“…You’re kidding, right?”
“No. Seriously, we have them? What are they like?” May said with interest. “Younger? Older?”
“All of the above. Dang. I wish I had my special phone-glove so I could show you pics. Too bad I didn’t want to accidentally leave it.”
“Shoot! Lucky!”
Danny laughed. “Keep telling yourself that.”
May smiled, then looked at her aunt’s scrapbook. “That photo’s still in there.”
Danny rummaged through it and found the page with said photo. The siblings from different timelines both stared, admiring the young versions of their parents doing that corny, mock-romance scene.
“What do you wanna do?” Danny asked her.
“I don’t know… I want it, but you’ve got as much right to snatch it as I do,” May replied. “I wish we both could take it with us.”
“You know, maybe we can,” Danny said after a minute.
“Huh? What do you mean?”
“Doesn’t the Shack have a magic photocopy-machine in this time?”
“…And Mom and Dad are gone, so we might be able to pull this off!”
//
Meanwhile, Mabel was in her and Dipper’s room in the attic, which had basically been torn apart in a futile-search.
“Come on, Mabel!” The sweater-loving preteen said to herself. “Where’d you put that extra glue?”
//
The Mystery Twins of different timelines slipped through the currently-unguarded gift-shop of the Mystery Shack with ease, only to run into an elderly, bespectacled man in a fez, faded-white tee-shirt, and boxers in the living room, who was sitting on the couch, watching tv. The man turned to face them.
“Hey!” he said gruffly. “No exploring the house unless I’m leading a tour! Back to the gift-shop with you.”
Danny approached him, a hand behind his back. “No. Back to sleep with you.” Danny brought his concealed hand out from behind him, a large flower blooming from his wooden hand. He blew what looked like pollen into the old man’s face. The man was out in an instant, drooling all over himself.
May took the tv remote and flipped through a couple of channels. When she was satisfied, she abandoned the remote and joined Danny, though not before laying a soft kiss on the scary-looking man’s temple.
“Love you, Great-Grunkle Stan,” May whispered. She turned back to rubber-suited variation of her brother. “Let’s go.”
The two kids wandered down the hall towards the back, where they found a beaten, worn-out copy machine with words like “Danger” and other warnings on and around it.
“So… if I remember correctly, Dad said this’ll clone whatever you put into it,” May said. “It’s how Great Grunkle Stan made copies of the Journals that triangle-dude ruined.”
“Right,” Danny replied. “Seems straightforward. I think I’ll make two. This way, we don’t have to steal anything.”
“Sounds good. Let’s just remember not to get either wet.” May stepped out to check the living room.
//
Meanwhile, a heavy-set young man in a cap and a shirt with a big question-mark stepped into the living-room. “Hey, Mr. Pines. I just finished fixing-Oh, cool! You’ve got anime on!”
Soos Ramirez sat down on the couch, his gaze focused entirely on the tv-screen. He didn’t notice the teenage-girl peering around the corner, nor the bright and completely-noticeable flash from down the hall. He also didn’t notice two teens step back into the gift-shop, the boy holding three identical-copies of what looked like Mabel’s scrapbook.
//
In the Mystery Shack’s gift shop, May sat the scrapbook back down on the counter where she and Danny found it.
“Alright! Are we good to go?” May asked Danny.
“I think so. I made whole scrapbooks that we can maybe use for Aunt Mabel sometime. I bet she’d like to see her old pet-project again,” Danny replied.
“Great idea. You know, if it’s not us that steal the photo, I wonder what happens to this one.”
“Beats me. But no time to find out. Someone’s bound to come back any time now.” Danny said, handing one of the copies to May.
“You’re right… Hey, I’m sorry I kind of jumped you when we ran into each other. I thought maybe I violated some time-bureau thing and you were an agent or something,” May replied with sincerity as the two of them walked out of the entrance.
“That’s alright. No harm done. I’m sorry you hurt yourself trying to hurt me,” Danny replied to the girl.
“It’s fine,” May told her… sibling. “You know, it would be cool if we could hang, but with whatever this is, I don’t see how that’s possible any time soon.”
“You’re right,” Danny agreed, almost regretfully. “I don’t know how time-travel works, and I don’t Blendin’s inclined to tell someone who got the drop on him.”
“Huh?!”
“Nothing!”
The two stared at each other, not knowing what else to say. Finally, May broke the ice: “Awkward sibling-hug?”
The Mystery Twins embraced, awkwardly patting each other’s backs before separating.
“So, before we go our separate ways, can I ask you a weird question?” Danny asked sheepishly.
“Sure. What is it?” May responded.
“What’s like having a nose? A real one, I mean…”
//
Meanwhile, Mabel Pines had just come back downstairs. “I can’t believe I forgot I have one in my sweater’s inner pocket. What a silly-Mabel I am!” she said to herself, chuckling.
She stood by her scrapbook on the counter and tried to work the cap to the new glue-bottle off.
At the same time, a customer, who had come into the empty gift-shop just before the girl came down, went to approach Mabel and ask about getting rung up. Unfortunately, there was a snowglobe left on the floor by some child earlier that day. The man suddenly tripped on it and fell forward, only to stop himself by catching a fan. Said fan immediately started blowing on high, blasting Mabel’s hair all over her face and blowing a certain photograph into the yard, where an odd-looking goat caught in his mouth and ate it.
That was a dark day for Mabel Pines… who immediately planned to try to convince Dipper and Wendy to reenact that scene again.
//
The Pines twins from alternate futures faced each other, holding out their respective Time-Tapes (with the tape pulled out appropriately) and holding tightly onto their respective scrapbooks. The two got one last look at each other.
“Bye, Danny,” May said to her secret monster of a brother. “I love you, and I hope Mom and Dad like your gift.”
“Likewise, May,” Danny said, looking a bit sad. I wish you could see the others… I’d have liked to see their reactions meeting you.”
May gave him a soft smile. “Hey, I got to meet you, at least.” Danny smiled in response.
The Mystery Twins let the tape on their devices retract. There was a flash of light, and it was like they had never been there.

Mako-fam (a pq2 fanfic)
{Made another commitment to @thieves-in-the-palace so let’s go! (It’ll be a short fic I said, I’ll only hint at my ships I said. I might actually write a sequel to this focused on 20XX) Rated T, for strong language, “slight” (Ha, this thing is flooded with ship content) Okijuma, Yukichie, Souyo, Pegoryu, Annshiho, Yukamitsu, Junpei x Chidori and Akimina[just gonna shove a bunch of ships in here. I actually hit the tag limit.] and spoilers for Ticket 32}
Makoto Niijima, a girl with three families. One, the Phantom Thieves. Two, the Investigation Team. Three, SEES. Though she didn’t exactly know about the persona part. Until now.
They’ve just rescued the IT from Junessic land. Except for Yosuke. But they’ll have to find him later.
“Goro, can I speak to you for a second?” Makoto asks the brown-haired boy next to her.
“Yeah sure, in the theater?”
“Of course”
They walk over to the Kamoshidaman theater and plop down into the seats.
“FUCK, GORO! AUNT CHIE AND AUNT NAO HAVE PERSONAS?!”
“I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!”
They screamed for about another five minutes before they calmed down.
“Okay so, we just have to act normal. We can deal with this. It’s just Aunt Chie and Aunt Nao.”
“Yeah, I mean what are the odds that Uncle Aki has one too?”
*A.I.G.I.S*
“Goro, can I talk to you? Please?!” Makoto almost yells out, letting the slightest amount of panic into her voice.
“Yeah... sure...”
As they walk back into the Kamoshidaman theater, Goro‘s eyes start to widen. He’s finally comprehending.
“UNCLE AKI HAS A PERSONA?!”
“FUCK, MAKOTO I CAN’T BELIEVE IT!”
“YOU THINK I CAN?!”
Another five (20) minutes of screaming later...
“Okay, so our entire family has personas. We can deal with this.”
“Makoto. Uncle Aki just used an honorific on you. He never does that. It’s always either Mako-chan or Makoto. Same thing with Aunt Nao and Aunt Chie. And the rest of the family.”
“...I still remember how proud Aunt Nao was when they started calling you “the second coming of the detective prince”. She literally screamed out “THAT’S OUR BOY” when you were on tv. She was so happy.”
“Ha, remember when on your 15th birthday Uncle Aki and Aunt Chie gave you brass knuckles? Sae was so pissed”
“And then they got me Steel-toed boots and taught me how to do a roundhouse kick!”
“Do you still have those?”
“I never go anywhere without them.” And she pulls the brass knuckles from her bag.
“We’ve just got to bite back a few nicknames, and we’ll be fine.” Makoto whispers.
“Yeah.” Goro says back to her, with a small smile.
*ticket 32*
Makoto’s talking to Haru.
“Mako-chan, you’ve got to be a little less reckless! I don’t have my grenade launcher here to protect you!”
“I know, Haru. It’s just that I can’t help it when I see someone hurt my family.”
“Hmm...” Haru says, with a contemplative look on her face. Makoto wonders how she got this lucky to have this beautiful and sweet of a girlfriend.
“I guess I have Ren to thank for that” she thinks
And then Elizabeth talks about a new special screening.
“Maybe this is our chance?” Akihiko says to Chie.
Oh god oh no oh fuck- Makoto thinks
“Huh?” Chie replies to him
“Remember what Makoto said?”
And suddenly, Makoto’s having a flashback.
“Makoto, learning close-combat battle’s all well and good, but you need to learn a proper diet. Don’t eat meat 24/7 like they do” Naoto says to a younger Makoto.
“Aw, come on Naoto! Steak’s delicious!” Chie fires back.
Makoto smiled, a rare occurrence since the death of her father.
“Hey, look! She’s smiling!” Akihiko said to the other two.
“Aww, you’re so adorable, Makoto!” Chie said to her.
“I’m 13! Not three!”
Akihiko laughed, and said “I think she’s been hanging out with Ken too much.”
“Now come on! Show me a kick that could punt someone into the stratosphere!”
“Chie-!”
“Watch me go, Coach!” Chie says, and Makoto’s violently thrown back into the present.
“Heh! My fists have been aching for some action. Time for a one-two punch into the finishing blow!”
“*sigh* Whatever you say. Let’s just get going for now.”
As they’re walking, Yukiko walks up to Chie.
“Chie, you’re starting to scare her. Calm down a bit. I mean, you barely know her and you’re calling her Coach!”
“I’m sure she’s fine!”
“...I still can’t believe you’re my Prince Charming.”
“Ha! No take-backs, Yukiko! You’re my princess and I’m your Prince!”
And then Yukiko falls into a laughing fit.
And right behind them, Goro and Makoto are having a panic attack conversation
“I can’t believe they’re asking you to train them. They taught you everything you know!” Goro says, shocked.
“I know!”
“...Don’t you already know their weaknesses?”
“Yeah, Aunt Chie moves just slow enough to sweep her stable leg out and if Uncle Aki gets riled up enough he exposes his stomach.”
“Then fight them!”
“That’s not actually a bad idea...”
“There it is! Let’s get in there and land the first strike!” Akihiko yells.
Goro rolls his eyes and says “There he is. I was wondering when he was gonna go battle crazy.”
“Roger that, I’m ready to learn from the best!”
“And there she goes...” Makoto whispers
“...Wait, there’s no road!?” Chie screamed
“Whoa!”
Goro was barely able to restrain his laughter
“Calm down, you two. First, we need to assess the situation. See the enemy’s orientation. Gauge it’s speed, movements, and position. Observe, then predict its actions.”
This time it was Goro’s flashback.
“Come on, Goro. You need to observe. Predict their actions.” Naoto whispered.
“She’s right. Now, come at me!” Akihiko told him.
“Wait!” Minato walked in. “Use this!” And he handed him a wooden rapier.
Goro’s eyes glittered. “It’s just like the ones heroes from those movies use!”
“Très Magnefique!” Mitsuru exclamimed. “A one-handed sword!”
“Babe, Mitzi, come on. You know that the best weapon is a pair of fists.”
“You’ve got Makoto, let us have him!” Minato said to him.
“Come on, Lances are the best weapon to use!” Minako said, as she walked in.
Everyone in the room shot her down.
“You have Ken!” Chie said.
“What about me?” Ken said as he walked in.
“Nothing, we’re just arguing about weapons again.” Minato said to him, with a small smirk on his face.
“Nothing beats a Katana!” Yu said as he walked in.
Yukiko said, “You’re all wrong! Fans are easy to hide, and they can pack a punch!”
“Yukiko. My princess. I love you, but you’re wrong.”
The squabbles between them brought a sweet smile to Goro’s face. He had a family.
“Okay, come on! This is how you use a sword!” Minato said, and Minato and Mitsuru did a demonstration on sabers and swords.
“Let’s go, Chie! I’ll race you!” Akihiko said to the brown-haired girl, just as Goro’s flashback ended.
Makoto backed up to join Goro.
“Think we should join them?” She asked
“Of course we should, Queen.”
And they both bolted off to join them.
*after the ticket*
“So, a special diet, huh? You know they’re gonna cave. Aunt Nao’s been trying and failing for years.” Goro whispered to her.
“I know, but I might as well give it a shot, huh?”
Meanwhile, in the background, Minato and Yukiko are chatting.
“God, why is she so similar to both of them? They never told us what year they were from... Do you think that maybe they left us for each other or something and had her?” Yukiko said to him.
“No... that’s crazy. At least I hope not.” Minato replied to her.
“I mean, if they’d be happier with each other, then I’d accept it. Because I love her too much to not see her happy.”
“Yeah, same.”
“Ugh, I’m weirdly jealous. I mean, it might not even be true.”
“Yeah...”
And a few more battles in ??? later...
“Ugh!” Yosuke said, as he collapsed in a heap.
“Partner!” Yu said, as he took out the shadow and bolted to Yosuke’s side. “Yosuke, are you alright?!” His voice going a few octaves higher than it normally would.
Makoto gets another flashback.
“Partner?” Yu asks a half-asleep Yosuke, as they watch a movie. “Come on, we’re with Makoto and Goro. Weren’t you the one who wanted to watch this movie?”
Yosuke plants a sloppy kiss on Yu’s cheek
“Yeah, but I’m tired. I mostly wanted an excuse to spend time with you.”
Yu had the tiniest hint of a blush on his face.
Makoto and Goro stopped watching the movie in favor of watching the romcom taking place right next to them on the couch.
“P-partner please there are children watching”
“Aw, getting flustered already?”
“Mako-chan! Behind you!” Haru screeched out
Makoto dodged it and kicked it in the face to kill it.
“Thanks, babe!” She yelled to her as she got back onto her feet.
Akihiko walked up to her, and asked “Are you alright?”
“Yeah thanks u- Akihiko-san”
Phew, that was close she thought to herself.
Meanwhile, back to the salty s/os...
“She cut herself off. She was going to call him something different. It seems more and more likely that Akihiko’s her dad.” Yukiko muttered.
“Earlier, I think she did the same thing to Chie.” Minato whispered back.
“I’m so fucking jealous”
“God, same”
“Ooh, my brother’s jealous, huh?” Minako said, as she popped in.
“Minako-!” He said back to her.
*back in the theater*
Hikari clapped her hands as she welcomed them back.
“Yeah! No sweat! Eff those shadows!” Ryuji said as he threw his fist into the air.
“I still don’t understand why you can’t just say fuck, like the rest of us.” Chie said to him.
“Well, you see...” Ren started. “My boyfriend here is a total momma’s boy. We love him for it. His mom told him to never say fuck, so he doesn’t. He loves his mom. And so do we. She’s basically all our mom now.”
“Yeah, I still remember the look of horror on her face when I said it around her!” Ann said to everyone else.
Ren planted a soft kiss on Ryuji’s cheek.
“Ugh, why is everyone so affectionate here?! I miss my sweet Chidorita...” Junpei exclaimed.
“Oh yeah, same. I miss Shiho so much. I should take her out for crepes when we get home.” Ann said.
And then
“Whoa, the room just got a bit colder...”
“I can feel it. Someone’s salty.”
“It’s coming from... over there!” And Junpei points to an obviously pissed off Yukiko and a Wildcard Mode Minato.
“Okay, what are you two so salty about?” Ann asks them.
And then Minato does his catchphrase. “I don’t care”
“Aw, are your s/os not paying enough attention to you two?” Ren teases.
Minato’s hand slightly curled and the other three protags show their shock.
“Guys! What has you all going insane?!” Ann screams out.
“That thing Minato did with his hand? That’s the wildcard equivalent of ‘I’m gonna cut a bitch’” Ren explains.
“...That little hand thing?”
“Yeah!!”
“Okay, but that still leaves the question, why?”
“That, I don’t know.”
“I’m just going to say it!” Yukiko says, with barely restrained anger
“Makoto, what were your parents names?” She asks.
“Wait! Hold the fuck up! If you’re thinking what I think you’re thinking, you’re wrong! I’m Ken’s age! I’m not the child of anyone here!” Makoto screams out in a single breath.
“Oh. Well now I just feel like an idiot.” Yukiko says.
Minato rubs the back of his neck with his hand and blushes just the tiniest bit.
And Makoto gets another flashback.
“Hey! Uncle Mina! Didn’t you say that Aunt Mitzi and Uncle Aki were teaching you french? Could you help me with my homework?” Makoto asks.
“I’m... not very good, but alright.”
“It’s just a reading assignment. We’ll be fine.”
Goro gives a small smirk from where he’s sitting on the dorm couch.
“What is it supposed to be?” Minato asks the girl.
“I don’t know, just read it!” She yells out.
“Okay, okay!” He chuckles as he starts translating it
“My love, your hair is as soft as a flower’s petals, yet your heart is thorned. Never to let anyone too close. I’m glad that you let me and everyone else into your heart. I never thought I had an eye for beauty, until I saw your face. I’ve traveled the world, and yet I’ve always wanted to come home to you. You’re a warrior. And I’d like to fight by your side until the end. So, will you be by my side forever? Love-” Minato choked on the last word. He dropped the letter and slammed his hands over his mouth. He turned around, not quite trusting his voice. There, Akihiko Sanada sat, blushing so hard that it seemed he might pass out. Minato thought a nod yes would suffice. It did. The entire dorm went up in cheers and everyone was excited for the newly engaged couple.
Makoto loved that memory. She always thought it was romantic, the way he proposed.
So when she saw them on the couch, Minato asleep on his boyfriend’s shoulder, she was happy knowing that a couple who fights together, stays together.
But there’s something more important to do, soon. After Minato wakes up.
After he does wake up, Makoto finally challenges Akihiko and Chie to a fight.
“A fight?” Chie asks her
“Well, a training bout.” Makoto says. “Both of you, against me.”
“If you insist.” Akihiko says, and he throws a punch that Makoto dodges easily.
“Too easy! Give me a challenge at least!”
Chie throws out a kick. Another dodge. And Makoto takes out her leg from under her.
“Huh!” Chie screams, as she collapses into a heap.
“Chie!” Yukiko screams from the back.
“That’s one down!” Ren screams from the back.
Another punch. Makoto pirouettes out of the way.
“That all you can do?!” She taunts him
Akihiko’s temper gets the better of him. Makoto smirks. He leaves his stomach exposed for a split second. Makoto throws as much force as she can behind a punch directly to his gut
Makoto shakes out her hand, as Akihiko goes crumbling to the floor.
“Damn. I’m impressed.” Mitsuru says from the back. “Are the two of you alright?”
“Yeah, I’m fine” Chie tells the redhead.
“Same here.” Akihiko says as he brings himself to his feet.
And then their eyes start sparkling. Makoto’s bombarded with questions.
Makoto and Goro have the same flashback at the same time.
“Alright, is everyone ready?” Minako asks the kids, who are holding wooden weapons. She kicks off a training match between Goro, Makoto, and Ken.
(Everyone knows Ken’s going to win, but it’s good experience for the others.)
Unfortunately, Ken forgets that this is a training match. He puts too much force behind his hits and accidentally knocks Makoto’s arm so hard that he dislocates her shoulder.
“Ow, damn!” She mutters out, not wanting to seem weak.
“Sorry, sorry!” Ken yells as he throws the wooden lance to the side and runs over to her.
Yukari runs over to her side and starts to examine it. She sighs in relief. “It’s okay, we just need to pop it back in.”
The entire dorm sighs in relief.
Yukiko plops down on Makoto’s other side, and grabs her hand.
“Look at me, alright?” She tells the girl.
Yukari pops here shoulder back in, which gives her pain for a split-second, until a cool, soothing sensation permeates her body
Looking back on it now, Yukari had probably used diarahan on her.
“-oach? Coach? Coach!” Chie’s voice snapped her back to the present.
“I’m sorry, I got distracted. What were you saying?” She asked the brown-haired girl.
“Makoto, are you feeling alright? You seem a bit out of it.” Akihiko asked her.
“I’m fine” she says. She’s a liar.
*another run in ??? later*
“Makoto-san, I’ve been wondering. How did you learn to be so good at riding a motorcycle?” Mitsuru asks her.
You taught me! She thinks
“Johanna taught me. She is a part of me after all!” Makoto quickly says, trying to act casual.
It seems to satisfy the red-headed executioner, as she walks away.
Flashback time~
“Mitsuru, I swear to god if you take her out on your motorcycle-” Akihiko starts
“She’ll be fine! We’ll be with her!” Yukari replies
“That’s what I’m worried about! Mitsuru, you once used a pileup as a ramp, and Yukari, you once took a sharp turn on an icy road so fast that we almost skid into another car!”
“Just because you can’t handle the way I drive-” Mitsuru starts
“You once told me ‘I paid for the whole speedometer, I’m using the whole speedometer!’”
“Exactly!” Yukari replied to him.
“...I’m not going to talk you out of this, now am I?”
“Not even close!” They both replied, in unison.
“You two are perfect for each other... just don’t get yourselves killed.”
And that was the day that Makoto learned how to ride a motorcycle like a maniac, with a crash course from Mitsuru and Yukari.
Makoto literally drives herself off a tree.
“Mafreidyne!” She screams, and takes out the shadows.
She returns her mask and walks with the rest of the group.
Surrounded by all three of her families, she thought that this alternate dimension thing might not be so bad after all.

OC Test: Strength
With only the use of hands and semblances, test each other in combat in any way you see fit.
Valerie:*Smirking* anyone else thinking what I’m thinking?
Everybody forms a circle around Carmine almost immediately.
Carmine:So that’s how you wanna play this huh? Should’ve figured as much.
Valerie:Blame yourself for proclaiming to be the strongest.
Carmine:I hope you know this is an automatic loss for me right? Even I can’t beat all nine of you at once. From what I’ve seen all of you are tough people.
Sienna:Let me guess, you’re just the toughest is that right?
Summer:Anyone else concerned that she doesn’t look scared?
Lucas:Not really, I can hear her heart rate increase.
Carmine:*glares at him* So what if it is? Maybe I’m just getting excited.
Jacquelyn:I say we make this a little fair. For example......
With a stomp of her foot roots and plants start to spread until a lush forest is made.
Jacquelyn:There, that’s all the fighting you’ll get at of me. Use the forest as an area to make things a bit more fair. Everyone rushing her right here does seem drastic. Also if someone says “uncle” or knocked out then they lose.
Jael:That seems like a nice handicap. Also I think we should give her a head start into the forest.
Yujin:Oooo it’s like reverse tag almost. All of us trying to corner one person.
Tenzen:Pretty sure that’s just Pac-Man; I’m done with it.
Valerie:Yeah whatever, we’re still going to win without a real problem.
Carmine:You know what, I’ll give you guys a handicap too.
Nick:Umm why does that make me concerned? I thought we were the ones helping her out?
Carmine:I will not use my semblance on anyone. If I do then I’ll tell you who my parents are. Hell, beat me and I might become a little bit more open.
Everyone:Deal!!!!!
Carmine:(That was easy....)
Jacquelyn:Alright you crazy kids, scatter!!!
*ten minutes later*
Carmine stands right in the middle of the forest with her eyes closed. She waits patiently for the first person to show up.
Carmine:(I’m currently equal distance from any direction inside the forest. They’re smart and probably picked different entry points; possibly even split into teams of two. That wouldn’t be difficult if I could fight them quietly. No weapons help but it’s still gonna get noisy and that will attract the rest.)
The wind blows calmly through her hair and she opens her eyes to look around the area.
Carmine:(Hiding would make sense but I’m sure Lucas and Sienna could hear me move around regardless of how careful I am. They most likely know where I am and that means four people to fight almost immediately. Tenzen is probably with Yujin and would rush over here in a second. That makes six in the worse case scenario. Man, I wonder how mom would handle this? All out attack most likely with thinking on your feet.
.........
Carmine:(No wonder Jacquelyn opted out, I have my hands full and I haven’t even factored the twins yet. Maybe I should just tell them who I am? Valerie would still want to fight but the others might blow this thing off. Why is it so important that they know I’m-)
Suddenly Tenzen appears right in front of her fully powered up and going for a roundhouse kick. Before it connects she ducks and sweeps his leg, causing him to fall. Not wasting time she pins his arm behind him.
Tenzen:You actually dodged that! I’d geek out if this didn’t hurt so much. *wincing*
Carmine:(That closer than I liked. He’s pretty fast.) Say uncle Or I’ll break it dude after the test it will heal anyways so I have no problem snapping it.
Tenzen:Sorry, can’t make it that easy for you. Everyone is dying to know who you are.
Carmine:Why is this so important to everyone? I don’t get it in the slightest. *tightens grip*
Tenzen:Because we look up to you!
Carmine:......
Tenzen:We barely know you but we can tell that you’re the bar we all want to reach. We might not take all this experience in our actual worlds but when we are it’s something we want to have. You’re inspiring Carmine.
Carmine:.......Last chance to give up before you lose an arm.
Tenzen:Sorry, I can’t give up now.
Carmine:I know you can’t, but Yujin can. You hear me!? Say uncle or I’ll break his arm!
......
Carmine:I hope you’re not right handed.
Yujin:*runs out of the bushes* Uncle!!!! Don’t break it.
Tenzen:Yujin!
Yujin:I panicked okay!? Besides...*smirks* I already did my part.
Carmine:What are you- *sees a shadow*
Without looking up she immediately jumped out the way as trees started to fall like rain. Jael had all the ammo she needed as she floated right above the forest and continued to chuck trees down at Carmine. Staying in the middle was no longer a viable option so took off running.
Carmine:That semblance is gonna be a problem. I better-
Tenzen:*running next to her* Sup.... *kicks her*
Carmine:Not a bad plan. I can’t run away, Jael is watching from above, and the sound of falling trees definitely alerted the others. Why make Yujin give up though?
Tenzen:She said her heart wasn’t in it. Didn’t mind throwing in the towel after she did her small part. I think you’ve grown on her the most.
Carmine:(Yeah well it goes both ways)
Tenzen:The rest of us though....
Valerie and the others show up surrounding her again.
Sienna:We’re really motivated to see what you can do. Time to put your money where your mouth is.
Carmine:.......
Carmine:Screw it, I gave up......
Everybody:WHAT!?
Nick:You won’t even try!?
Carmine:Try what? See how long it takes before I’m pinned to the ground? I have no weapon or semblance at my disposal; I was doomed from the start in all honesty. Just wanted to get a sense of how all of operate.
Tenzen:*powers down* Man I guess that makes sense. I was so ready to-
He gets knocked out cold with a kick that sends him into a tree by Carmine. Before anyone registers the attack she lunges at Nicholas and throw him into Jael; knocking her out the sky. Summer gets pulled in a head lock and immediately tries to gasp for air..
Sienna:Jael! *runs to her*
Valerie:What the hell you-
Carmine:Didn’t say Uncle. Should’ve listened carefully. Now say it before Summer passes out from lack of oxygen.
Summer:*already turning blue*
Valerie:Lucas! Shouldn’t you have seen this coming!?
Lucas:Let’s assume I did see this coming. Do you think you could’ve reacted fast enough to stop her? Sometimes not knowing and being on guard is better than thinking everything is accounted for. I will say that this was unexpected.
Carmine:Uh I think Summer is getting a little sleepy over here.
Valerie: Sigh...Uncle....
Carmine:Cool, *lets go* sorry for being rough with you.
Summer:*coughing* What kind of strength!? How are you so strong?
Carmine:My world doesn’t play nice. Can you please do me a favor and say-
Summer:Uncle.... that goes for me and Nick.
Nick:*getting up* No way, I still have plenty of fight left! *summons Arma Gigas’s sword*
Carmine:(Well that’s unique....)
Sienna:.....*holding Jael* You okay?
Jael:Yep, just dizzy is all. That hurts when you’re not suspecting it. Can’t remember the last time I fell out of sky. *holds head* Still hurts like hell. Starting to think we’re out of our depth.
Sienna:What!? The four of us vs her is still easy.
Jael:Perhaps, but honestly I can’t keep up with you on a good day. *gets up* it’s funny, she’s not much older than me but I can already feel gap between us. If I had my sword then my odds may be different, at least a little.
Carmine:You’re selling yourself short. I don’t think you realize just how tough you are. I’m actually worried about you the most. Gravity is no joke.
Jael:I’d shake your hand right now if I wasn’t seeing two of you. *sits down* Sorry sis, fighting like this would be reckless; uncle....
Sienna:....Well I’m still going for it. *cracks knuckles* You just take a break.
Lucas:I’ll help you out. * jumps back*
Nick:Three against one it is then.
Carmine:Lucky me.....
Both Jael and Summer move out the way to Valerie to let three try their luck. The two felines rush in at the same time was claws out. Lucas goes high while Sienna goes low; each firing off kicks and slashes simultaneously. Carmine bobs and weaves frantically away from the two while constantly being blocked by glyphs. She tries to back up but is blocked by another one and is double uppercutted. They try to follow up with right and left swipes but Carmine catches the attack; pulling them together harshly and kicking them back.
Carmine:*rubs chin* Can anyone explain how three people from different worlds work together like old friends.
Sienna:Simple, I do what I want and commit to it. *jumps and kicks were right*
Lucas:I see it ahead of time and attack accordingly. *falling with a left kick*
Carmine:*jumps back* Tsk....
Nick:All I do is make up the difference.*stabs sword in the ground*
Glyphs close in around her with her two main opponents inside. Before she can react, both of them slam her into glyph and hold onto her limbs. Everyone on the outside unable to see.
Lucas:I found it weird that you chose to not be able to use your semblance.
Carmine:Makes things too easy, trust me.
Lucas:Or it’s a dead giveaway on who you are.
Carmine:.....
Sienna:I’ll tell you what, both of us don’t want to win this way and nobody can see us right now. So cut loose already.....
Lucas:We won’t tell if you do.....
Carmine:Yeah but.....*groans*
Red aura glows from her as the ground trembles. Both of her opponents let go calmly and brace themselves for a fight.
Carmine:You sure about this?
Sienna and Lucas:Bring it on!
*minutes pass*
Valerie:Can you see what’s happening?
Nick:No but I think-
The glyphs break and a wave of pressure flies out. Carmine is seen standing while the other two lay on the ground tired but happy.
Sienna:It’s over....give up Nicholas. We already did.
Nick:Seriously!? But she looked like she was on the ropes and- ah screw it. Fine I give up, Uncle.
Carmine:Sweet, glad that’s finally over. Let’s get out of this place.
Jacquelyn:You all lost!?
Everyone:Yeah.....
Valerie:Some of us didn’t get to try for real! *huffs*
Tenzen:Yeah, not my finest moment either. That kick was something else.
Jacquelyn:I guess you’re still a woman of mystery aye Carmine? We’ll get you next time.
Everyone:Thanks for the match! *bows*
Carmine:You all aren’t gonna stop trying are you?
Yujin:Of course not! One day we’re gonna prove to you that we can keep up! You better be ready Carmine! *smiles*
Carmine:......
Carmine:Don’t hold your breath. Keeping up with the one and only Carmine Arc-Rose is something not everyone can say. *walks away*
Nobody says anything, almost like they didn’t hear her for a moment. Then then next minute all heads whip around to see her laying down with her eyes closed and a contact case on her stomach. Like she didn’t just say what everyone was waiting for.
Everyone:.....*smiles* Nice to meet you Carmine Arc-Rose.
Carmine:Zzzzzzz

Broken Arrow pt 2
Author’s note: I REGRET NOTHING!!!!!!
Rating: M (swearing and some implied sexy times)
Words: 4331
If you asked Lian what happened in the three days that followed her parents’ deaths, she couldn’t tell you. Because she doesn’t think much over the next three days. Things come and go in flashes. Grandpa Ollie shows up with Grandma Dinah, telling her not to worry about the funeral arrangements. Jai holding her at night, even though she doesn’t sleep. Damian sitting with her. Jon asking if she needs anything. Irey getting her her favorite food, which she doesn’t eat.
The first day, she keeps telling herself this is all a hoax. Just a training simulation gone wrong. The second day, she tells herself that Mom and Dad probably lost their memories. They’re coming to find her. They have to come home. The third day. she stops telling herself anything. She doesn’t cry, doesn’t scream, doesn’t talk. She wouldn’t even bother getting out of bed if it wasn’t for her friends. Irey and Mar’i take turns changing her clothes, as the three of them have had to sew each other up so much there’s nothing they haven’t seen. Lian lets them. What’s the point in fighting?
She lays awake in bed, as the sunlight drifts over the sheets. She can feel Jai shift beside her. She turns over to look at him. Jai smiles at her, reaching out to tuck a stray curl behind her ear,” Hey, you sleep at all?”
Lian doesn’t answer. Jai kisses her forehead, his arm slipping around her waist. Lian closes her eyes, letting his warmth spread to her icy bones. No one else has touched her in the last few days. Even Mar’i and Irey are careful to not touch her too much when they change her clothes. God, she just needs someone to hold her. She needs someone to hug her, to assure her everything will be ok. But none of them do that. Because in their eyes, when she’s upset, she doesn’t like anyone touching her. Even Jai is pulling away from her.
“I know today is gonna suck ass, but know that we’re all here for you. Ok?” Lian doesn’t respond,” I love you, Lian.”
Jai rolls out of bed and heads out of the room. Lian sits up and looks around her room. Titan’s tower has always been a third home to her (behind her house and wherever Uncle Jason was staying). One wall has her guitars on them- from the Gibson Les Paul grandpa Ollie got her for her birthday to the classic acoustic guitar from her dad. A few photos are placed around the room. One of her and the team in their uniforms, taken about a year ago. Another of her and Jai at a prom (was it his or hers, she can’t remember). One of her, Irey, and Mar’i, none of them older than 11, squished in the back seat of a car, giggling like crazy. Another of her and her dad.
Lian stares at that photo. She’s about four and it’s Halloween. All the other girls in her preschool had come dressed up as princesses. She, on the other hand, had told her dad she wanted to go as her favorite superhero. She’d gone dressed up as him, in a costume that was meant for a little boy, but she didn’t care. He’d even dressed up in his uniform while they were at home. Ollie had taken the photo of the two archers. Lian grabs the photo and slams it down. Her heart pounds in her chest. Why does this have to be so fucking hard?
She dresses herself. God, she’s been to so many funerals that she knows exactly what to wear and what to do. But then, she hasn’t been on this end before. As she pulls the dress on, she decides that today, no matter what, she will not cry. She won’t give the assholes who hate her, who judge her, who are supposed to be her allies, the satisfaction of seeing her cry.
Lian looks at her reflection in the mirror. Her eyes are brown, like her mother’s. Her hair black as midnight, like her mother’s. She has her father’s nose. She has his smile…well when she can smile. Her mother’s coloring for her father’s features. A sick twist of fate. She looks up at the knock on her door.
Irey is shocked to see Lian dressed. Lian hates seeing Irey when she’s dressed for a funeral. Her long fiery hair is pulled into a messy bun on top of her head. The black dress doesn’t match her colorful spirit. Lian hates this. Why do they even have to wear black?
“Oh, you’re ready.” Irey gives her a kind smile,” We’re ready to go when you are.”
Lian nods. This is gonna suck….
The church is packed with heroes. Her dad didn’t have many civilian friends. As far as they would know, he’d be on sabbatical until Lian turned 18. Then they’d say he died in a car crash. Or an accident. Or something. A few heroes give their condolences to Grandpa Ollie and Grandma Dinah. Most people avoid Lian. It probably doesn’t help that she gives off ‘talk to me and I’ll rip your fucking head off’ vibes.
Lian sits away from the crowd. It’s a sad commentary on her life really. But she doesn’t care about most of the people here. Most of these heroes, who’d loved her father dearly, made her a pariah once they learned about her mother. They could go to hell for all she cares. She glances back, trying to find her team. They sit with their parents. Uncle Dick has his arm around Mar’I, the teen resting her head on her father’s shoulder. Is she thinking about her mother’s funeral?  Jai and Irey are squished between their parents, holding hands. Something she hasn’t seen them do since they were 11. When Jay Garret died. Jon and Damian are at their fathers’ sides, both mini versions, both quiet and somber.
She whips around to the front as her breathing changes. Not now, please God, not now. Grandpa Ollie’s walking to the podium. Lian steels herself for what’s to come.
“Thank you all for coming today,” he begins,” I wish it were under happier circumstances.”
Lian listens as her grandfather talks about her father and his past. Surprisingly, he talks about her mom too. She recognizes the story he tells. Her dad told it to her once. Oliver doesn’t paint her mother only as a villain. She was a human who did horrible things and made bad choices, but wanted to change.
“Now, Roy and Jade didn’t agree on a lot. The two fought like cats and dogs more often than not. One thing that they both could agree on though was how much they both loved their daughter, Lian Alice,” Lian’s breathing stops,” Roy told me once, the reason Jade left was so she could get her head on straight. To be the mother that Lian deserved. 13 years ago when Lian was killed-“
Lian has a flash of her premature death. Her house crashing down around her. A banister hitting her head. Dust stinging her eyes. Screaming for her daddy to help.
“-When Lian was killed and before she was resurrected, Roy was devastated. We all were, but Roy Harper loved his little girl more than anything in this world. When she was brought back, Roy cried every night for weeks. He’d been given a second chance with this beautiful girl. He’d often say to me ‘I’m not raising her to be like me or not be like her mother. I’m raising her to be Lian. I’m raising a headstrong, sarcastic, mischievous little girl. If I do my job right, she will still be all those things, but she will know that the world isn’t black and white. She will make her own path and have the strength to move past any obstacle.’”
Lian’s throat tightens as he continues, this time speaking directly to her,” Lian, sweetheart, I cannot begin to imagine what you are feeling. I can’t imagine what’s going through your head the last couple of days. What I do know, sweetheart, is how much your parents loved you. They were so, so proud of you. Your mom once said in an interview ‘I saw Lian on the news the other day. Little Red Hood. She roundhouse kicked some dumbass robber in the face. Sent him to jail. I’m happy she didn’t end up like me.’”
Lian can feel everyone’s eyes on her. They’re waiting for her to react. They’re waiting for her to cry. They’re waiting for her to fall apart. They’re waiting. She doesn’t move. She can’t move. The second she does, she’ll break. And she’s not sure she can put herself back together.
“We lost two lives this week,” Oliver starts wrapping up,” It’s not the first time we’ve lost someone. Every Hero that goes into the field knows the risks. Roy knew this better than anyone and he was always scared about how he would leave things with Lian. So he made her videos. Every time he left for a mission, he recorded a video for her and asked me to show it at the funeral. I never asked why.”
They look at the screens. Her dad’s smiling face shows up,” Hey, pum’kin.”
Lian is out of her seat. She doesn’t care that everyone is staring. She stands in front of the screen, reaching out to touch her father’s face. It’s like she’s little again, in an over-sized t-shirt and stuffed bunny in hand, talking to him on the communicators,” I’d hoped you would never have to watch one of these damn videos. If you are then…I’m sorry. I am so, so sorry, squeaker. I’m sorry I won’t be there for your birthday.  I’m sorry I won’t be there to walk you down the aisle or see you holding any of my future grandkids.
“I am sorry. That’s what I need you to understand. I am so, so sorry. I didn’t want to leave you. Lian feels tears burn her eyes,” but I did. It was my time I guess. And let me tell you, pum’kin. I had a hell of a go. I made a difference in this world. I saved so many lives and touched so many more.
“Most importantly, I got to see my baby girl grow into a strong, intelligent, smart-ass woman,” Roy wipes his eyes,” God, Li. If I’m remembered for anything, I hope it’s being your dad. You, my magnificent, beautiful, beloved daughter, are a fucking force to be reckoned with. You hold back so much. I know some assholes have given you shit about your mom, which is why I made Ollie promise to show this video at the-my funeral. Because I want you to know I have your back. I saw what they did and I saw how it drove you to be the best. And you are. I am so incredibly proud of you, Lian Alice Ngyuen- Harper.”
“I am proud of your passion, your temper, your loyalty. I am proud of your perseverance and your drive. I’m proud of all your accomplishments. Doesn’t matter which one, I’m proud of everything you have done and will ever do,” Lian feels something wet dripping from her chin. Her breathing is shaky. Dad smiles at her. With her smile.
“I love you, squeaker. I love you so fucking much. I have loved all the hugs and kisses you’ve given me. I have loved every day I’ve gotten with you. I’ve loved every Halloween and every Christmas and every Father's Day. I’ve loved every day we spent all day listening to old records and talking. I’ve loved every first day of school and hearing about your newest crush,” He chuckles before teasing,” Maybe not Jai. But he’s treated you right so far. As long as he does right by you, he has my blessing.
“God, Lian. I’m going to miss you. I’m going to miss everything about you. I’ve made this video hundreds of times by now. It never gets easier. So, I’m not saying goodbye. Because I’m not really gone. I’m right next to you, by your side. And I will always be there, cheering you on. If there’s anything I want you to remember, any last-minute advice I can think about, it’s this. Draw the arrow back, breath, then let it go.” Lian releases a sharp breath,” I love you, pum’kin. Don’t you ever forget that.”
He blows her a kiss. Lian stares at the screen after it’s faded to black. Her heartbeats one, two, three times. Then she’s running. Her heels fly off and she’s sprinting down the aisle and out the door. Someone calls her name. Her lungs burn and her muscles are tight after days of not being used. Her braid hits her back and her dress restricts her legs. But that doesn’t stop her.
She runs. She runs. She runs. Until she collapses at the edge of Star City. Her feet are raw and every muscle burns. She’s still crying. Why? Why is she crying? She needs to stop. She needs everything to stop. She needs her dad-
“Lian?” Lian looks up. Mar’i floats down beside her. Lian curls away from her friend,” I would ask if you are ok, but I believe that is a stupid question to ask.”
“Does it ever stop?” It’s the first thing she’s said since Jason told her she’s an orphan.
         “Does what stop?”
“Does the…the pain ever stop? Feeling like-like you can’t breathe?” Mar’i is the only person on their team who has lost a parent who was her entire world,” What was it like when your mom died?”
Mar’i is quiet for a moment,” When my mother died, I did not know what to feel. I was only 8 years old. All I understood was my mother went to bed one night and did not wake up. For days, I waited for her to come into my room. To pick me up and hold me in her arms. Tell me everything would be ok. That did not happen. It was not until I was leaving Tamaran that it…hit me. I cried for days after arriving on Earth. It did not feel like I was unable to breathe. More like I would never be happy again.”
         “Does it ever stop?”
“It fades. I still have days where I ache for her. I ache to hear her voice sing me to sleep or feel her hug me once more. To tell me she loves me to the ends of the universe.”
Lian whimpers,” I lost both my parents, Mar. I don’t even remember the last time I talked to my mom and I miss her.”
         “Do you love her?”
         “Huh?”
         “Do you love your mother?”
         “I-Yes.”
“Then it does not matter what you said. You love her and she loved you. Do not let anyone make you feel as if you are wrong to mourn her,” Mar’i offers her a handkerchief. Lian takes it, wiping her eyes,” Do you mind me asking a question?”
         “Go ahead.”
“What did your father mean when he said ‘draw the arrow back, aim, and let it go?”
“When…when he was teaching me archery, I had a habit of trying to aim the arrow before shooting. Then I’d hold it too long. I missed a lot and got really angry. D-Dad told me I was holding on too long. ‘Draw it back, aim, let go. Simple as that, squeaker.’” Lian sniffles,” As I got older, we would say that to each other when things are hard. Life is just getting ready to send us something better.”
“So he’s telling you not to hold on to all of this?”
         “More or less.”
         “Will you?”
“I-I don’t know.” Lian shakes her head,” I just…I want to go home. My home. Not the tower. Not Uncle Jason’s apartment. Not Grandpa Ollie’s place.”
“Okay,” Mar’i stands, holding her hand out for her godsister. Lian accepts it. Mar’i has her friend wrap her arms around her neck before flying into the air. Lian is aware of how warm Mar’i’s skin is, the May sunlight overcharging her powers. It does nothing to the chill in her bones. They stop at her front door,” Do you want any company?”
“No,” Lian shakes her head,” I want to be alone for a while. Can you tell Uncle Jai and Grandpa Ollie that I’m ok?”
“Of course,” Mar’i pauses,” I love you, Lian.”
Lian gives her a half smile that neither of them believes,” Love you too, Falling Star.”
As Mar’i flies away, Lian braces herself before entering the house. It’s wrong to be here without him. Knowing he won’t be coming home soon. He’s everywhere she looks. In the pictures on the wall, in the boots by the door, the crappy music on the CD rack. Lian stops in the living room. One of his old jackets hangs over an armchair. A few dishes sit in the drying rack. The house is quiet. Then the phone rings. She lets it go to voicemail.
“This is Joe’s crematorium. You kill ‘em, we grill ‘em- DAD!” Lian's voice laughs on the recording.
“Ignore my daughter. You’ve reached Roy and Lian,” Her dad’s chuckling,” We aren’t here at the moment, but leave a message and one of us will get back to you-“
Lian rips the phone from the wall and throws it as hard as she can. It crashes through the window. Lian starts screaming again. She hears dishes shatter on the ground, cutting her feet. She throws books and tips the furniture. She’s not sure how long she sits there afterward. She looks at the shattered remains of her life.
“Lian?” Jai’s voice calls out as he walks in the front door. He enters the living room to find her sitting on the ground, surrounded by glass shards and broken plates,” Oh, baby.”
“My dad’s dead.” Her voice is hoarse. Jai steps over the mess and lifts her into his arms,” My dad died trying to save my mom. To bring her home to me.”
“I know, babe,” He carries her upstairs to her bedroom,” I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.”
He sets her on her bed. Carefully, he pulls her dress off. Lian feels goosebumps rise on her skin as the cool air touches it. Jai starts to move away, but she grabs his hand. She makes him look at her,” Don’t leave me.”
“I’m not going to leave y-“ Lian jumps to her feet, throwing her arms around his neck. The kiss is desperate on her part, pressing her entire body against his. She needs him. She needs something to take her mind off the pain in her heart. Jai gently pushes her back,” Babe-“
“Don’t,” She begs,” Please don’t push me away. I-I don’t want- I need- please.”
“Lian, you’re grieving,” Jai is trying very hard to not stare at his half-naked girlfriend’s body.
“I’m going to be grieving for the rest of my life,” she says bitterly,” No one’s- I need someone to touch me. To let me know I’m still here. I need to not feel empty. Please.”
         “Lian…”
“Jai. I need you.” She’s desperate. The words in and of themselves are desperate. But they work. She knows she’ll regret it later, but right now she loses herself in the taste of his mouth. Ripping his shirt off, running her hands down his burly chest, unbuckling his belt. Jai lifts her up, wrapping her legs around his waist. Lian lets him. She lets him rip her bra and panties off. She lets him lay her on the bed, his tongue in her mouth. She lets him kiss her neck, her breasts, her belly, between her legs. She lets him thrust inside her, taking her the way she needs him to.
This time is different. Usually, when they have sex, they talk almost nonstop. Teasing each other, obnoxiously flirting, hell they once had an argument about guitars while screwing. But this time, neither of them speak. He’s gentler than normal, which she hates. She doesn’t want gentle. She wants bruises that won’t go away. She wants to not be able to walk in the morning. She wants him to use his super strength as much as he wants. But it works. If just for a while, she forgets everything. All that matters right now is her and Jai.
Later, she lays on her sweaty sheets, staring out the window. Jai spoons her from behind, pressing soft kisses to her shoulder,” Do you want to talk?”
“I don’t know,” She turns to face him. He gently pushes her loose hair from her eyes,” I’m sorry.”
“For what?” He asks, genuinely confused.
“I don’t know. It just seems like that’s what I need to say here. I more or less just forced you into screwing me-“
“Hey,” Jai makes her look at him,” I wanted that. I always want you. You told me that’s what you needed.”
“I just… I don’t know what to do, babe,” Tears start to form in her eyes,” How am I-where am I going to live? I turn 18 in less than three months-“
“Hey,” Jai holds her face with one hand,” you don’t have to think about that.”
“But I am. Everyone keeps telling me what I do or don’t have to think about. I am thinking about it. I'm thinking about where I’m going to live. I’m thinking about how I’m going to pay for college. I'm thinking about how my parents died. I’m thinking about it and I can’t stop,” Lian feels Jai wrap his arm around her waist, pulling her against him. She nuzzles her face into his neck,” I can’t stop thinking about everything my dad is going to miss. My high school graduation, my college graduation, grandkids, our wedd-“
She stops talking. She and Jai have been dating for close to three years now, and she’s more than certain he’s the one. But they haven’t talked very much about marriage. She wants to marry him. She wants to be his wife. But she’s not sure if he wants that.
“Hey,” Jai makes her look at him,” did you hear him on that video? He’s gonna be at our wedding, Lian, right by your side. He’ll be there with your mom. And they’re going to see their baby girl get married.”
“w-what?” Lian meets Jai’s eyes. They’re brown, somewhat like hers, but much lighter. Almost golden. She thinks it has something to do with the speed force. Lightning in his eyes.
“Lian, I’m not proposing. Not yet. But I want you to know I love you. I love you and I can’t imagine my life without you. I know you’re hurting right now and you won’t be ok for a long time. That’s ok. Because I’m not going anywhere.” He gives her a loving smile,” I’m never going to leave you. So, whatever you need to heal, whether it’s being alone or having meaningless sex or crying or screaming or sparring, I’m happy to help however I can.”
Lian starts crying again. This time, Jai holds her tight. He rubs soft circles on her back, kissing her temple. He murmurs sweet nothings into her hair, assuring her that she’s ok. They’re ok. She’s going to be ok. He’s right there. He’s not going anywhere. She cries into his neck, waiting for her parents.
She cries for her dad. For all the Sunday mornings they spent watching cartoons. For all of her performances that he came to. For all the fights they had-about boys, about chores, about her mom. For the nights they’d stay up late talking about everything and anything in the world. For the afternoons he spent teaching her archery. For the summer nights when he’d take her camping and teach her the constellations. For the nights he would hold her after she woke up screaming, unable to breathe, having seen her death again.
She cries for her mother. For the few times they had truly connected. For the look of pride she gave Lian, even when they were on opposite sides of a fight. For the hugs, she’d given. For the coy bits of advice. For the performances she’d come to, leaving a note in her bag afterward. For the few times, when Mom and Dad had gotten along, that she’d make pancakes. From scratch, not from a box.
Lian cries and cries and cries until she can’t anymore. Her eyes hurt and her throat is raw. Jai gently wipes her tears away with his thumb. She looks up at him,” I love you, Jai-Jai.”
“I love you too, Li,” he kisses her once before pulling the covers over them. Lian rests her head on his chest. She can feel his heartbeat right against her cheek.
“Promise me you won’t go. Promise me you won’t leave too.”
“I promise,” His voice is low, head tilting to the side. Lian lets the sound of his even breathing and forever-rapid heart lull her to sleep.
In a few hours, they’ll have to wake up. She’ll have to answer all the worried messages from her friends and family. She’ll have to talk to her Uncle Jason and Grandpa Ollie. She’ll break down crying when she talks to them. Jai’ll stop and hold her while she sobs. She’ll have to shower and then she’ll realize how cut up her feet are. She’ll have to clean up the living room and kitchen. Then, maybe not now, maybe not this week, maybe not this month, but she’ll have to go through her Dad’s stuff. She’ll go through it and it’ll kill her.
But that’s hours away. For now, she’s in the arms of one person who loves her.
         For now, she’s not alone.
And, for now, that makes all the difference in the world.

Hey! Hope the writing is going well. I saw prompts and requests are open? I'm a total sucker badass Yuuri (I was searching that tag when I first found you) so if you were up to it..a short Drabble of Badass Yuuri and confused, very concerned, scared, impressed, slightly turned on Viktor? Good luck!
*finger guns* you got it
here’s a buffy the vampire slayer inspired vampire hunter au that.. actually has almost nothing to do with buffy. it’s also a lot longer than i intended!! sorry for taking so long with it!
All Yuuri wants to do is pick up groceries for his mom, go home, and ignore his calculus homework until the blissful oblivion of sleep claims him.
So, when he hears the telltale sounds of a fight in the vegetable aisle, he almost crushes a cereal box in frustration.
“Please, no,” he says, begging whatever deity that may be listening. “C’mon, just this once. Just let me buy the groceries.”
There’s another crash and the rows of cereal in front of him topple off the shelves.
“Fine,” Yuuri sighs. He puts down his shopping basket and reaches down into his boot, pulling out his back-up wooden stake. He curses himself for leaving all his weapons in his car, like a rookie. Whatever, it’s pointy and wooden. It’ll have to do.
He rushes towards the sounds of a struggle and finds three vampires huddled around a panicking cashier. They have their claws fisted in his apron and their fangs are bared, ready to slash open his jugular. Oh no. It’s been awhile since Yuuri’s had to fight more than two at a time. He was having a fairly quiet week, in terms of vampire activity.
“H-Hey!” he shouts, grimacing when when his voice cracks. He tries again, “Hey! Undead assholes!”
The three vampires whip their heads around, hissing. They start to laugh when they see Yuuri there, standing in between the tomatoes and the lettuce, wielding a stake that is, essentially, as deadly as a pencil.
“Aw,” the middle one coos. “Are you lost, kiddo?”
“Careful,” one of the other vampires says. It flicks its long hair over its shoulder, an ebony curtain that drapes down to its lower back. “That’s sharp. You might hurt yourself, sweetheart.”
Yuuri grits his teeth, dropping his weight back and widening his stance. He wracks his brain for something cool to say.
“Uh, the only thing I’m gonna hurt today is, um, you!” he shouts.
“Is that the best you’ve got?”
“Honestly, yeah.”
“Enough,” the last one grunts. It drops the cashier, slinking closer to Yuuri. “Let’s make this quick. I’m hungry.”
The vampire grins at him before it pounces.
Yuuri drops down low, catching the vampire with his shoulder and using its momentum to flip it. In an instant, he has it pinned to the ground, his stake buried in its chest. The vampire erupts in a cloud of dust, screeching as the demon inside it is sent back to hell. Yuuri coughs, grimacing at the dust covering his jeans. Great, now he’ll have to do the laundry tonight too.
“So,” he says, leveling the other two vampires with a cool glare. “Who’s next?”
They launch themselves at him. The bigger one reaches him first, dodging Yuuri’s swipe with the stake and slamming him back into the shelves behind him. Yuuri winces as the metal digs into his back. He recovers quickly and punches the vampire in the face with enough force to send it staggering to the left.
The vampire with longer hair darts forward, but Yuuri sidesteps just in time. He whirls in place and roundhouse kicks it into the other vampire, sending them both crashing into a soda display. Yuuri moves quickly, placing himself in between the monsters and the cashier. He throws a quick glance over his shoulder.
“You alright?”
The cashier stares at him with wide blue eyes.
“It’ll be okay,” Yuuri says, trying to reassure both the cashier and himself. “Don’t worry, let me just take care of them and I’ll help clean up.”
This time Yuuri attacks first. He runs forward, throwing his stake at the bigger one. It lands solidly in the bigger vampire’s chest, reducing him to a pile of ashes. Yuuri takes a brief moment to appreciate all the throwing knife drills Celestino made him do. Then, he’s scooping up the stake from the pile of vampire dust and throwing himself at the last vampire.
It claws at him, raking a painful line down the side of his face. He recoils with a yelp, tripping over his own feet and tumbling to the ground in an ungraceful sprawl. The vampire is on him instantly, straddling him and pinning his arms down. It leans its weight forward and Yuuri struggles to breathe.
“Kids these days just don’t respect their elders,” it tsks, crushing Yuuri’s wrists in its grasp. “I’m not going down that easy, baby. It’s a shame I have to kill you.”
Yuuri spits at it. It hisses.
“Say hello to Mavis and William for me,” it snarls, “when you see them in hell.”
Suddenly, just as it’s about to rip Yuuri’s throat out, the vampire is knocked off him. Yuuri looks up to see the cashier wielding a folding metal chair.
“You can say hi to them yourself!” he shouts, discarding the chair to the side with a metallic clang.
Yuuri uses the last of his energy to flip himself onto the vampire and drive his stake into its heart. It screams and gets one last swipe at his face, before crumbling into nothing.
“Ugh.” Yuuri collapses into a heap on the cold linoleum. “Ugh.”
“Are you okay?”
“I’m good,” Yuuri wheezes. “Nice work with the chair, uh––” Yuuri raises his head to look at the cashier’s name tag–– “Viktor.”
“Do you need a band aid? We have band aids!” Viktor says. He doesn’t wait for Yuuri to reply before he’s dashing away. Yuuri rolls onto his back, squinting up at the fluorescent lights.
God. He just wanted to buy groceries.
Viktor comes racing back, skidding down the aisle to kneel by Yuuri’s side. He presents him with a pastel blue poodle patterned children’s band aid, which he applies gently to the scratch marks on Yuuri’s face.
Yuuri blushes. “Y-You, uh, don’t have to do that.”
“It’s the least I can do,” Viktor says, his voice low. “You saved my life. What were those things?”
“Vampires,” Yuuri replies. He raises an eyebrow. “Haven’t you seen one before? They’re, uh, pretty common in this area.”
“I just moved here. My uncle Yakov owns the store and today’s my first day, actually.”
“Well, welcome to Sunnyvale,” Yuuri chuckles as he gets to his feet and slips his stake back into his boot. “I wish you could have had a better first day.”
“I’d say it was a pretty good day. I mean I almost died but, I met you so I think it balances out.”
“That’s–– um. Thanks, I think?”
They tidy up as best as they can. Viktor sweeps the remaining ash up and Yuuri places the oranges and lemons back into their stands. There’s nothing they can really do about the bent metal shelves or the scorch marks on the floor, though. It still looks like a bull ran through the shop, but Viktor assures him that it’s fine and leads him back towards the registers, hunting for some hand sanitizer. He gushes about Yuuri’s “sweet flips” and “incredible fighting moves” the entire time. Yuuri can feel his face getting redder and redder.
Now that Yuuri’s calmed down from the fight, he takes a proper look at VIktor. He seems familiar. “Hey, have we––?”
“We have english together,” Viktor says quickly, a light dusting of pink across his nose. “I sit a couple seats behind you.”
“Oh.” Yuuri blinks. He vaguely remembers a new kid being introduced in class, but to be honest he’s bad at noticing things that aren’t trying to kill him. Phichit tells him it’s a fatal flaw. “Um. Cool.”
They stare at each other in silence for a long moment.
“Well, I should go––”
“Would you––?”
They both stop. Viktor laughs a little, nervously rubbing the back of his neck.
“I was just gonna ask if you could maybe teach me how to do all that?” he waves a hand in the air. “All the flips and vanquishing demonic entities and stuff? Because that was really cool.”
Yuuri blinks. “I mean, I’m still training myself.”
Viktor wilts a little. “Ah. R-Right. I understand.”
“But,” Yuuri says, before he can stop himself, “if you want I can ask my Watcher, Professor Celestino, if you can train with us? I guess if you’re living here you should know how to defend yourself.”
Viktor’s entire being lights up. He flashes Yuuri a heart-shaped grin, wide and dazzling and absolutely angelic. Yuuri falls in love instantly.
“I-I’ll give him a call right away!” Yuuri says quickly. What is he doing? He literally rescued this guy five minutes ago. He needs to leave, before he can embarrass himself. “Here, let me pay you for the groceries.”
“It’s on the house,” Viktor says. He’s still smiling at Yuuri and, oh wow, are those dimples? That’s adorable.
“T-Thanks! See you in class tomorrow!” Yuuri turns on his heel and speedwalks back to the cereal aisle, picking up his stuff as quickly as possible.Yuuri can face off against hordes of the undead, but he crumbles in front of a cute boy. Typical.
“Okay, bye!” Yuuri calls out as he leaves. He pours all his energy into making sure he doesn’t trip over his own feet. One foot in front of the other, Katsuki. It’s not hard.
“Yuuri,” Viktor says softly, standing in the middle of the wrecked grocery store with the sweetest smile on his face. “Thanks again, for saving me. I guess you’re my hero now.”
Yuuri squeaks and practically sprints out the door. He blushes the entire way home, clutching his Fruit Loops to his chest in an effort to quell the erratic beating of his heart.
A couple days later, Viktor meets Yuuri, Phichit, and Celestino in the library. He has a bag full of sharpened sticks and an eager grin on his face.
Bonus:
“Yakov! You’ll never guess what happened today! You know that cute boy in my english class? The one I called you about during lunch? He came into the store today! He saved my life, Yakov, it was incredibly hot. Oh, also, all the eggplants are squashed and there’s blood on my work apron. Hey, did you know this town is full of vampires?”

Impossible love pt. 3
Word count: 1,992 Rating: pg-13 because of language Pt. 1 PT.2 A/N: I'm on mobile so I'll add the links later. "Where the hell were you last night?" Karma asks. I smirk, I knew she got the information from Jazi because she wasn't here today so that must have meant Jazi told Karma over text. "You don't wanna know," I answer and chuckle a little. Karma nudges my shoulder. "Who did you fuck?" She whispered in my ear. "Nobody you know," I smirk. "Oh really? Was it Peter?" She asks as she raises an eyebrow. "No, why would you even think that?" I blush loudly. "Whatever you say," she smirks and I give her an evil glare. "I have training tonight, so I won't be able to text tonight," I state trying to change the topic. "Oh okay. The bell is gonna ring soon so I'm gonna head to biology," she says and I nod, then she leaves and I slam my locker and there Peter is. I jump a little. "Stalker much?" I ask and he realized that he scared me. "Sorry, your friend just saw me so I assumed you saw me, anyway, why did I come over here?" "I don't know. You tell me," I say to him. "Oh yeah, are you going to training tonight?" "Yes, I'll be staying the night too, my uncle decided that his business trip needed to be one day longer," I comment. "Oh awesome. Aunt May will freak if I stay one more night so I'll be leaving afterwards," he replies. "Awesome. I'll see you there. I have to go to my classes," I leave. All of my classes seem slow today. Maybe I was just dreading this training because I am sore. My back, my shoulders and my calves are super sore. As the day dragged on the training got closer a d I got more anxious. I don't want to do it but I still got nervous. Finally the day ended and Nat was in a nice, black, car. She rolled down the window when she saw me. "Hey could you help me find someone I'm looking for. She's a little too energetic and a superhero," she jokes around and I shake my head then get in the passenger seat. "Oh come on, I think I'm funny," she chuckles. "Well I don't think so, I mean you try too hard, it's like dad jokes but worse and not in a good way," I admit," like someone says "what time is it," and you say "time for you to get a watch," see that's funny." "No, that's just annoying," she replies and I give her a skeptical look. We leave the parking lot and I sit in silence. "Why do you do the things you do? I mean no regular teenager would even think about saving the world," she asks and I smile. "Because I know what it's like when no one is there to help and it is important to be what you want in the world. I was given the opportunity and I took. I learned from my and other people's mistakes," I explain. "When have you needed someone and no one was there?" "Most of my life. I'm very independent because I have to be, not because I want to be. If it was my choice I'd have someone there who would take half of my load. I had a friend, his name was Mike. He told me that when you have no one else in the world that you still have yourself. Even if it's just a shadow or a reflection of yourself you still have you." "Wow, that was optimistically pessimistic." "Yeah, well it's true, that's why I learned that I can't lean on anyone, but I will let others lean on me." "Ah, well we are almost here," she states and I see the tower. I smirk a little and then sigh. "What's the sigh for?" She asks as she raises an eyebrow. "I'm sore. I normally don't do this much training,"  I admit. "Oh," she parks and looks at me and smiles," well, welcome to being an avenger," then she gets out of the car like a supermodel and I get a tad bit jealous. I akward get out of the car and pull my backpack with me. We get into the first floor and she swipes her identification card, I haven't gotten mine yet. She gets off a few floors below me and I get off around floor 30. I go to the bedrooms and start on my homework. After about an hour I get up and change. I have tight, black running pants and an overlarge white shirt that you can kind of see through so my black sports bra shows. I go down into the training room and there was no one in there. I get onto the blue exercise mat and I start doing some karate moves and my warm up. I am practicing my roundhouse kick routine when Steve and Bucky come in. I stop practicing and realize it's been an hour and a half since I finished my warm up, I am extremely sweaty and my white shirt sticks to me. I walk off the mat and go to my water bottle. I get a swig of water and Steve looks at me. "How long have you been practicing?" He asks. "About an hour and a half. I've improved on some of my moves," I state proudly. "Are you able to go against anyone because I don't want to overwork you, I know sparring with someone can be overwhelming, especially after an hour and a half or training." "Yeah, I feel like I could move a mountain right now so of course." I smile and I walk over to them. Bucky has been silent this whole time," so who am I gonna fight?" "Peter because he is your size," he answers. "Oh, I'm guessing I'll be fighting him a lot," I guess. "Yup," he replies. "But that's not fair. I have much more practice from hand to hand combat and I'll beat him," I state because it was unfair for Peter. "You'll be good for him. Don't worry," Steve assures. "Fine." I cross my arm then Peter came through the door," speak of the devil," I mutter and look at him grumpily. Even though my body was still feeling the surge of energy from my workout I stretched. Steve and Bucky fought for 30 minutes which gave me time to cool down from my workout and warm up for the sparring session I was about to do. When Steve finished he motioned for us to get on. I stood nervously in front of Peter, scared that I was going to hurt him but also anxious about the fight. I needed someone just one on one without any powers, just a nice sparring session without being in a life or death situation. I brought my hands up and waited. I let him get the first punch but he didn't take it so I went for his head. He blocked it and we fought from there. It was all really just a blur. I would kick and he would hit back. Somehow he ended up halfway up the wall, like both hands and feet holding himself up and I was close and personal. I was going to punch him and I pulled back the punch when Steve yelled. "That's enough, I think both of you need a break," he yelled and I backed off. Im breathing heavily and extremely sweaty. I walk off the mat without saying anything to Peter. I walk to the bench and stretch for the final time. After a 5 minute cool down I walk to the showers. I take a long, hot shower, I know I'm supposed to take a cold shower but I hate those. I finally stop when all the I can see too much steam but I also knew someone else was taking a shower because I can hear the water. I got distracted by my own thoughts so I don't know who. I dried myself quickly and threw on clothes. I wore black pants that hug my defined legs, sports bra and a baggy hoodie that I stole from one of my friends. It still smells like them after many washes. I snuck out and headed to my bedroom where I closed myself off from the world. I went onto Pinterest and Tumblr for a while, not really doing anything and I wrote a little and I changed my position so many different times that I lost count after 12. Currently my feet were on the bed and my back was on the ground. I knew that it wouldn't last long because my arm started to get tired and then my door opened. My hoodie was riding up on my stomach so it was exposed. I looked up and saw that it was Peter. I got up quickly and realized that my hair is probably a mess, and I look like crap. "FRIDAY can't you warn me please," I yell at the air. "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to barge in. I just wanted to say goodbye. You seemed a little mad at me, I just wanted to see if I did anything wrong," he states and looks at me with those eyes and I realized I have been a jerk lately. "You didn't do anything. It's just one of my off moods. Your aunt is probably worried sick about you. You should go home," I reply to him. "O-oh yeah. You're probably right, well hopefully I'll see you tomorrow," he waves and leaves. There wasn't anything going on tomorrow, my uncle is coming back so I'll have to talk to him. I was still standing so I fell onto the bed and stared at the ceiling. I closed my eyes and passed out. I woke to mummering, it was quiet but outside my door. I pretend to be asleep so I can overhear the conversation. "I'm not doing it. I don't want to get punched in the face. I don't know how she sleeps," Tony's voice comments. "Fine but if she's mad at me I'm gonna blame it on you. She hasn't eaten since yesterday probably," Steve replies and walks into the room. "Hey, it's time to wake up," Steve says and I open one eye and look at him," I know it's late but you need to eat." "Okay just give me like, uh, two minutes. I'll be down," I mumble and roll over. I hear them leave and I get up. I fix my hair and check the time. It's almost 9, I run down the stairs and see most of the avengers at the table. Nat has her leg in Clint's seat and and Clint has his leg on her seat. They all looked tired. The only avenger not there is Thor and he has an excuse. I sat at the empty chair near the end of the table next to Tony and Bucky. I sat quietly and ate in silence. Finally, Tony finished his food and put his glass of water on the table loudly and cleared his throat. "Alright, we have made a decision," he calls out loudly and many people look confused," this one," he comments while pointing at me," is now, officially," he emphasized officially," an avenger, card and all." Suddenly a yellow envelope is in front of me with a bow on top. I open it and there is some paperwork, an ID card and a congratulations card. I read it and it was the cheesiest card I have ever read. I smiled and got out of my seat then hugged Tony. "Thank you, thank.you," I cried out. He awkwardly patted my arm. "No problem kid," he replied and then I proceeded to hug every avenger in the room. I started filling out the paperwork and finished quickly. I am officially an avenger.
