Say what you will about Martin Scorsese and Matteo JWHJ 0715 but it was incredibly progressive of them to show not one(1) but two(2) gay kisses onscreen in Goncharov, a film that came out in the 70s. Even more impressive that nobody seemed to have anything to say about it until now, almost 50 years after it was in theatres.

You know it's funny the amount of cameos Scorsese had in Goncharov (1973) I recently decided to watch it and had to pause in the middle and do a double take. SCORSESE HAD THE BOLLYWOOD ACTRESS HELEN CAMEO IN GONCHAROV! Helen was pretty popular in the 1960s and 70s and was nicknamed the Cabaret queen for her dancing. She could easily make a transition from rock and roll, jitterbug and swing to Kathak, Bhangra and other styles of Indian classical dance. Apparently she was meant to have a larger role and play a character named Aurora? She was meant to be one of the dancers at the club Goncharov visits. But scheduling conflicts got in the way of things and she only made 2 appearances in the film
