I find it a little sad that I keep seeing posts by these kiddos, who've not been in fandom culture too long, saying that they're sad to see their current hyper fixation fandom 'dying'. And subsequently losing interest, themselves, in something that brings them joy, just because there aren't as many people posting about it.
My sweet beans, fandoms never truly die.
I just found a very recent update to a Danny Phantom fancomic that started in 2015. I still see fanart for the original Yu-Gi-Oh series come across my dash periodically.
Heck, some fandoms are only a tiny handful of passionate people making content for each other, and that's amazing!
Just because there are fewer folks talking about it, doesn't mean /you/ have to stop. If you want to see something in the fandom, create it! Draw that art, write that fic! Even if no one else likes it, /YOU/ do. And that's what's important.

Thinking about how my art style is a result of the many things I've found inspiration with over the years.
It's the how to draw manga books. It's the random anime screenshots I'd save as my wallpaper on my family desktop. It's Miku V2 Append. It's my 2015 Deviantart mutuals making Stampy minecraft fanart. It's RPGMaker horror games. It's Undertale fancomics. It's Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated. It's my friend drawing K-pop fanart in 2017. It's my 8th grade art teacher. It's Yu-Gi-Oh! GX and Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It's Rise of the TMNT. It's the MLP redesigns I really liked. It's the artists I follow now. It's the things I haven't even listed or could even remember at this time.
It's everything from the moment little 8-becoming-9-year-old me downloaded ibispaint in 2013 and the times I've doodled on the walls and copy-paper before then.
And I can't wait to see how it evolves as I exit my teen years.
