Trystan x Gabriel by artbyainna (IG)
I wanted art that was in keeping with the cover photo for this book but more in keeping with the characters because I refuse to believe the detective or Trystan would go all TRR on us like that cover art is attempting to make us believe.
- aka I wanted cover art that was less generic -
I also wanted to redeem that disaster of a coronation outfit for the detective. I went with something in keeping with the whole royal vibe but something that wasn’t so stuffy and old, because I’m tired of PB making Mags designs look so boring and off. She’s better than PB, I just know it.
Ainna definitely delivered and then some! I just can’t get over how amazing she is with taking my ideas and two entirely different outfits and making something magical out of them!
[Background is a manipulation of the PB cover art]
[Gabriel’s outfit is inspired by an design from Ellie Saab’s Fall/Winter 2022 line and one from Zaid Nakad’s Spring/Summer 2023 line]

on quran, surah the women, is hitting women haram or Halal in islam?:
im discussing the interpretation of this verse (ayah) in the women surah, please note that im ex-muslim and arabic is my first language.
Tumblr media
this is the common interpetation, the one Muslim feminists don't use.
Tumblr media
muslim women have been defending this ayah by saying "و اضربوهن" isnt what it means. they say it's actually striking "الاضراب" which is basically the same as "و اهجروهن في المضاجع" (leave them in their beds). so here's the story about how Muhammad got that verse
"And the verse was revealed about Sa`d ibn al-Rabe`, when his wife, Habibah bint Zaid ibn Kharija ibn Abi Zuhair, revolted against him and slapped her. Her father said: O Messenger of God, my daughter made his bed, so he slapped her! He, peace be upon him, said: To take revenge on her husband. So she left with her father to take revenge on him, peace be upon him, said: Go back. This is Gabriel. He came to me, so God revealed this verse. He, peace be upon him, said: We wanted something and God wanted another."
god wanted another, she can't take revenge. she has no right to divorce because to allah, he has done nothing wrong.
now for the interpretation that by "و اضربوهن" its just lightly hitting with a stick and not beating, or that it's actually striking from them and leaving them, this is actually false.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
the two words are very similar
the first image (left) is the one in the verse, translated to beating
the second image (right) is the one they claim to be the word in the verse, its similar but it's not the same word.
if it was striking "الإضراب" it would've been "و اضربوا عنهن"
feminists who use the feminist interpretation, i would doubt they even know how to read arabic.
there's no doubt that interpretations changes with time to fit into people's needs. as nawal saadawi said "اذا لم يتفقا النص و المصلحة غلبت المصلحة علي النص" "if interest and verses don't agree, the interest beats the verse"
this is why so many verses about slavery have been dropped and how "و اضربوهن" was turned into discipline them.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
first image (left) is translated "men are Superior to women"
second image (right) is translated to "men have a degree over them"
see the interpretation below? and the "responsibility" in brackets?
this is pure change of religion and it will still continue to do so. quran wasn't and won't be distorted, it will be misinterpreted.
feminists, let's try less to pull interpretation out of our ass, and try more to say "you're religion is misogynistic and shitty and I don't support it, go bomb a church"😊😊
