The heartless book in the background? Crush culture and people watching in the playlist? Isaac's yellow, blue and white coded wardrobe? The ACE book as foreshadowing in E3 and then coming back full circle? The pining without pining? The angst? The fluff of Isaac not wanting to get into the prom photo but then being dragged in by Tao, Charlie and Elle? The misdirect? (which to most aspec people was a very obvious not misdirect?)
Alice Oseman you make me feral and that is all I'll say about that

dustin has been talking eddie’s ear off for months about how badass steve is, but only with super vague descriptions that typically end with a huffed, “whatever, you just had to be there, i guess,” so eddie’s not entirely convinced until he sees steve in action for himself, biting the head off that bat. and now that eddie knows about the upside down and monsters and shit, dustin doesn’t waste a SECOND regaling him with a play by play of every single time steve has done anything remotely impressive. but eddie is infinitely less bothered by it now, just listens in rapt attention as dustin info-dumps about their shared special interest (steve)

What is your favourite Doctor Who story?
ROUND 2 MASTERPOST
synopses and propaganda under the cut
The Faceless Ones
Synopsis
The TARDIS arrives at Gatwick Airport in July 1966. A great many young people have vanished, including Ben and Polly. With the help of Samantha Briggs, the sister of one of the missing youths, the Second Doctor and Jamie must uncover the plot of the Chameleons.
Propaganda no propaganda submitted
The Daemons
Synopsis
The Master, posing as a rural vicar, summons a cloven-hoofed demon-like creature named Azal in a church crypt. Seeking to gain the ancient titan's demonic power, he gathers a cult and then corrupts or controls the residents of Devil's End to bow to his will. Dark elemental forces begin to disturb the village on the eve of May Day: unexplained murders, a stone gargoyle come to life, and a nigh-impenetrable infernal energy dome. With the Master fully prepared to destroy the Earth, the Doctor and UNIT — aided by a benevolent practitioner of witchcraft — battle the wicked rites of a secret science wielded by an alien from another world.
Propaganda
what is the most important quality of a good doctor who story, to have a strong plot, something to say, something new to try. all of these are positives, yes, but sometimes the best doctor who stories are just fun. sometimes they feature the master pretending to be the leader of a satanic cult pretending to be an anglican priest, remote control bessie, an alien who's basically the devil, a living gargoyle, a witch, and the doctor escaping being tied to a maypole by pretending to be a wizard. truly, this is the heights of doctor who, it is beyond fun to watch, i love it so much.
If that’s not enough, then surely the fact that this has THE ‘the brigs an alcoholic and mike yates is gay’ moment (anonymous)

I feel like some people are saying that also because there is literal clips of shubble and lexie straight up saying his friends knew he was abusing her and wouldn't care to say anything until it was public
I understand, but what they said is hardly enough to straight up start pointing fingers at the exact ccs involved. Especially when they’re saying things now. Like, we don’t know who they’re referring to, and saying “wow why didn’t you say anything earlier” to someone going “you manipulated me” is just point blank kinda fucked. I understand and sympathize with people’s anger, but in this situation with a cc that has had many of his associates come out and describe his behavior as hurting them personally, like, you just can’t be sure if the person you’re pointing is truly complicit or literally another victim

Okay, I have accomplished enough chores today, so I'm taking a break to eat some lasagna and start the first of the two-part finale for A Crow Of Candy!
I shouldn't have left this one for last of the Intrepid Heroes seasons because I'm gonna need some comfort after all this. However, ACOFAF has been on my list since the start until my brain shut down watching anything but the IH, and I am loving Aabria in TWTWATWO so I'm thinking that, or Misfits and Magic will be my first d20 seasons to watch without the IH, and BLeeM as DM.
But first! I gotta make sure someone puts that fucking cake in the GROUND and that carrot is reduced to ash. For Candia!

So I probably have ADHD but the only way I can get stimulant medication is to get formally diagnosed. Which apparently requires that I come off all of my psychiatric drugs for several weeks first. Which means, at best, a nerve-wracking month for my family and, at worst, losing my job, wild hallucinations, and a unaliving attempt. Really wish, I could just submit my friends and family's responses to "do you think I have ADHD?" which is just a bunch of snort-laughs and "of course."
i don't know which country you are in but at least here that is a) not part of the assessment process at all and b) directly contrary to guidelines around ADHD because it is c) extremely dangerous
also you can say suicide kill death maim dismember here this isn't tiktok
also also corroborative statements are part of ADHD assessment which is aka literally submitting your friends and family saying "no shit"

for the oc ask game: betrayal for amaldyne? i feel like there's something juicy there..... (or u can do whatever prompt u want but i Am curious abt the dragon....)
Ahhh ty for the ask!! Ooooh that's an interesting one. I guess Amaldyne's whole story would be one long betrayal of her loved ones, her family's memory, and her own personal values. She's very intense and very driven, and these traits mix very badly with her coping strategy of "focus on saving the world/winning the war with the gods instead of dealing with literally any of her personal problems for even five whole minutes." The more time passes, the further she leans in to the god she "begrudgingly" serves, the more toxic she gets, the more willing she becomes to use, lie to, and ultimately discard everyone around her. Unfortunately, I don't have any specific examples, but I'm sure by the end of things when the world's been irrevocably changed by Amaldyne's own claws, just about everyone who ever knew her or believed in her cause feels pretty fucking bitter about how it all turned out.
Similarly, I don't have any specific examples of her being betrayed (at least none that are an official "canon"), but after a certain point she considers anybody disagreeing with her ever to be a betrayal. For whatever period of time in which she has any level of authority over a large number of people (I imagine that she is, for a time, a higher up or even leader of some sort of militia organization working to fight the gods and their servants), she has something of a revolving door of assistants because everyone near her on the power ladder inevitably winds up '"betraying" her/The Cause (read: disagreeing with her about something). This leads to a lot of big, blow-out arguments.
