I meant to make this forever ago but here are my gay titan headcanons for pride month

Dick Grayson

The man is definitely bi. Growing up with bruce, he never got a chance for any kind of meaningful relationship and wasn't like other kids with internet access (or however that worked, I mean he's around my mom's age and her generation all had like flip phones in highschool or whatever) or "the talk" or really anything pertaining to sexuality. And instead of not realizing it until adulthood, he kinda just took it as it's completely normal because he never saw anything special about it. Bruce was always supportive of any pride marches going on which made him feel safe but they always had this mutual understanding that didn't make anything need to be said out loud

He may look sexy as fuck all the time but it's all a show, he's so asexual. I've always kinda took this as canon even though nothing like that was mentioned or shown, and he slept with kori pretty early on but nevermind that. He's not out to anyone because he didn't know asexuality was a thing, but more on that later with another character I headcanon as ace :-)

When he does figure it out though he comes out publicity rather quickly and the internet goes wild, leaving his teammates to find out through twitter

Koriand'r

On Tamaran, no one is really aware of sexuality as a society, but just that a princess needs her prince and things like that (I don't know much about Tamaran, I could be wrong in canon but this is headcanon) but they do have the capacity for sexuality. Kori comes to earth and discovers human sexuality and doesn't really understand any of it and tries to figure out what she is but comes to the conclusion that it's VERY confusing but by god does she love dick grayson

Gar Logan

He's very much pansexual. He's always struggled with coming out to people, half of him thinking 'it's so obvious but they never said anything so they must be homophobic but deal with me for titans business' and 'they think I'm straight and I should come out' but rachel helps him, they are mspec solidarity

He comes out officially to the public during pride month which causes the rest of the titans to come out and make their statements which makes the world go crazy

He comes out to the team by donning a bunch of pan pride merch and hanging up a flag in his room and eventually they take notice and ask what it's about he makes a big show out of it and kori makes him a pan colored cake with the help of rachel because he was so excited about it

When he and rachel officially room together, they fold their pride flags in half to combine them on the wall

He is also asexual. I don't get sexual attraction so almost everyone is asexual. Like me he doesn't get the hype around it so he doesn't make a big deal about it like his pansexuality. He comes out because jason makes a joke about him and rachel now sharing a room and he just goes "huh? oh, no, me and rachel don't do that. I'm asexual :D" thus prompting dick to talk to gar in private and explain to him, and he doesn't show it but he's very excited and goes to tell kori

Rachel Roth

She is so bi without a doubt. When she comes out with the titans, people give her a lot of shit for being in a committed relationship with a man while being bi but she responds to all public backlash just getting increasingly more obnoxious with it. Think like aggressively chaotic videos in response to trolls to Lady Gaga songs and hanging pride flags from the tower every June

Jason Todd

Look at this man and tell me he's not bi. You can't. I know I've headcanoned like everyone as bi but that's because I'm projecting

He gets a boyfriend and thinks he's keeping it a secret but he's really bad at it

He acts like he's going out with a girl but has no idea how to act with a guy, so he asks the titans very obvious advice that just gets worse the more he tries to cover it up

Bruce knows it from the start pretty much because he's always acted like a tool who only cared about showing off everything batman and titan related when he dated girls but he actually appears genuine, so it must mean he's gay

One evening he tells the titans he's going on a date and rachel goes "with your boyfriend?"

Then they convince him to take his date to the tower to meet them which ends up being the best date he's ever been on

Conner Kent

At first he has no concept of sexuality because he starts out when he broke out of the lab with the emotional mind of a toddler

As he "grows up" he learns more about sexuality it kinda confuses him and finds he's unlabeled

Sexuality is hella confusing for him because all his pre existing knowledge comes from Clark Kent and Lex Luther and it's not like he inherited their sexuality and he never got to grow up and experience life

He's one of the titans who isn't exactly out about their sexuality, but that's because he doesn't label himself and currently that's only a concern to komand'r

His girlfriend is unlabeled too for the same reasons as kori and Conner has the biggest himbo bi wife energy despite being the smartest human-ish alive

It feels like I've been waiting forever omg but now I will showcase the flags and my headcanons for the babs :)

Obviously we all know this one lol

I decided to give Amity the moon lesbian flag because I feel the aesthetic fits her very well (I also feel like she would associate the normal lesbian flag with who she used to be in season 1 so the change in flag represents the change in who she is). She probably learned about it through the internet like I did once they got to the human realm (I hope they got to celebrate pride month while they were there too)

Another self explanatory one, this pan flag also captures her ✨aesthetic✨

Now for the traumatized kid. We all know he is confirmed to be Bi and I've seen so many HCs about Hunter being transfemme but I feel that they would want to keep their masc energy but not completely. I think demiboy fits him quite well don't you think? As a demigirl myself I quite like the representation :) don't get me wrong I love trans characters I just like the "not straight straight couple" representation too and this felt like a nice balance

Now a lot of people like to ship Gus with Mattholomule (or rather Mat Tholomule) but judging by Gus's reaction to Man Tholomule™'s mustache of confusion (and maybe a little disgust lol) and the lack of an actual love interest I like to think Gus is an aroace lad (also the ✨aesthetic✨)

Omg I love Vee so much I wish we got to see more of them but I think they would be a Neptunic Ceteroromantic nonbinary basilisk :) Neptunic refers to someone who is sexually attracted to female aligned or nonbinary aligned people (anyone not male aligned or masc aligned) and ceteroromantic is a nonbinary person who is romantically attracted to other nonbinary people. I just love representation of lesser known sexualities and identities and so on <3

Now it is the God Kid™ again the aesthetic of the flag fits perfectly and people have already been using they/them for the collector in the show (they are very androgynous fr I'm so jealous 😭) so of course they would be nb. I didn't think it right to give them a sexuality since they're a literal god and a kid so I just left that part blank (if anything they would probably be questioning but I don't think they would have sexual/romantic attraction to any mortal being, I feel like the concept would be lost to them like death was so I think they wouldn't put a label on it either tbh)

Oh little anon, when i tell you, you picked the WRONG bitch, I mean you picked the wrong bitch! firstly, cowardly to hide behind a grey face and not expose your blatant homophobia with your whole chest, but we move...

Let's take this in two parts, shall, we? Lets look at Stranger Thing's use of the word 'Freak' which from season one of the show has been used as a replacement for 'Fagg*t' the first instance being against Will Byers, when Joyce is reporting him missing and goes onto to explain to Hopper how Will's been bullied by his peers and his own father, where she explicitly uses the F slur to explain it, and from there it's been consistently used as a placeholder for it. Will is canonically confirmed gay by Noah, and to everyone else who knows how to read queer coding in his coming out scene to his brother in the pizza shop in volume 2. Eddie refers to himself on more than one occasion as a 'freak' - particularly in the boat house scene where he looks directly at Robin, a canonically confirmed lesbian and says to her, 'hunt the freak, right?' you can see the fucking pain in that boys face as he says it, and the gentle look Robin gives him in nodding, it's very clear to read that as them both having the understanding of what that meant, because while your little cishet brain may be incapable of critically reading subtext in media, us queers are very well versed at recognising our own, both on screen in queer coded storylines and off-screen in real life, and in this scene those two things meshed perfectly to demonstrate it.

Also, whether or not the nod to Queer Flagging was intentional or not, it was absolutely read that way by most of the Queer audience. Hanky Code was just one of the methods of Queer flagging that existed (and still exists today) which is predominantly used by Queer men (read: gay, bi, pan etc) to flag their sexual positions and interests at a time when it wasn't safe for them to be openly out without endangering their lives. Of course, bandana's were a big part of Metalhead culture too, but subcultures like metal, punk, etc, all these counter culture movements have a extensive and rich history of intersecting with the queer community. They are not mutually exclusive. Metal has massive ties to gender nonconformity and queerness, with bands like Judas Priest (who's lead singe Rob Halford was a gay man who came out in '98) who Eddie has a pin of on his battle vest, and while in '86 he wasn't out publicly, speculation about his sexuality had been around then too.

And all that is before we look at Joseph Quinns performance as Eddie and the little way in which he shamelessly flirted with both chrissy cunningham and steve harrington - which joe has confirmed at multiple convention panels that Eddie was flirting with Steve - he even, at the German con last weekend said that him and steve would have been a good fit, romantically.

BISEXUAL PEOPLE EXIST, PANSEXUAL PEOPLE EXIST. And if you can't see that not only are you homophobic, participating in bi/pan erasure but you're also just frankly fucking dumb.

And finally, if you think 'this is for you chrissy' meant he was somehow harbouring romantic feelings for her rather that he wanted to avenge for her murder you are delusional, and honestly giving Eddie ZERO respect if you honestly believe that it was because he fancied her and not because he was traumatized and guild ridden over not being able to do anything other than run away. This was him saying, I'm sorry Chrissy, I wish I could have saved you, but fuck it, your death won't be in vain we're going to save this goddamn town and burn the fucker who took your life.

I don't engage in ship wars, I don't give a fuck if you ship hellcheer, or steddie, or whatever other eddie ship, but i do give a fuck if you're going to come into my house and disrespect my son like this. DO BETTER.

I think this is spot on about Harry, and I think it's a completely personally understandable position for him, considering the way his image was constructed and manipulated while in the band and the complications of his closet.

But at the same time, I think the big risk for him is that if he doesn't give the fans a framework or a narrative through which to understand him (or some version of him), people will create one, and what they create might not be something he likes, and it certainly won't be one that he controls. I think a version of this has already happened with particularly aggressive het Harries (I don't love the term but it's a useful shorthand for this) - the ones who got big into Watermelon Sugar, who are particularly insistent about Lights Up and LNT music videos being about orgies, who bring the very sexual signs I've seen at concerts - and it seems like Harry has made his peace with being misunderstood in that way, even if he doesn't like it.

But I think we're also starting to see the emergence of another way of understanding Harry that is maybe more of a problem for him - very much in the genre of "red flag nice guy", where he says all of this stuff about treating people with kindness and tells his female fans "fuck boyfriends" but doesn't acknowledge his own bad behavior, who paints his nails and waves rainbows but still acts like any other white fuckboy in private, who Olivia broke up her family for when he won't publicly claim or defend her - and I think it's maybe a problem because it's a viewpoint that sees him as fundamentally inauthentic. And it's really hard to change people's image of you once they think you're an inauthentic or fake person, because they're going to think whatever you say is part of you faking it. (and I think we're already there with some of the queerbaiting stuff, where even if Harry explicitly came out as bi or pan or something, people wouldn't believe him and would think he was covering for queerbaiting).

Just in the hopes I'm not misunderstood, I'm not saying that Harry owes fans authenticity or any insight into his real personal life. If Harry was a "normal" celebrity brand new to this, I think his current approach would probably be fine. But he's not, he has history with people, and I think his current approach of not revealing anything personal, "everything you see is work", is maybe too far of a swing in the other direction, career-wise. Even if he's not willing to share anything truly personal, he might need to figure out a narrative that he is willing to tell as a lie and give a little more to. I'm not saying it's fair, because it's absolutely not. I'm just trying to read the pop culture room.

I agree that he needs a consistent narrative around himself, even if it's a lie. Beacuse letting people project what they want onto him is impossible to control, especially if people aren't willing to be particularly charitable in their view of him anymore.

Twilight Sparkle

Favorite Thing: Her not going with the crowd, she always uses her own intuition to decide something and never just does because it's popular, of course this isn't always a good thing but I still find it an interesting character trait.

Least Favorite Thing: Her selfishness, this is albeit rare but she is selfish at points and it really frustrates me when it happened

Favorite Canon Relationship: Again, I'm including platonic here so... this is a hard one, a lot of hers are really wholesome but I'm going to go with Starlight. It's a really good representation that the teacher can be taught by the student, like Twilight admitting her bias against Trixie or learning a bit off of Starlight's habit of combining spells like their ingredients in a dish, I found it really cool.

Favorite Non Canon Relationship: Any ship with the other elements, or just Poly Mane 6 as I think it's adorable, and honestly pretty believable

Sexuallity headcanon: Bi, I mean her hair literally has the bi flag in it, what else could I choose?

What I'd do If I could spend the day with them: Learn magic cause YES!

Random Fact I like: Less about Twilight and more about her voice actress, the amazing Tara Strong who is prolific in voice acting, voicing Harley Quinn a ton for instance, but other times I hear her in a game I either think of Twilight or Harley and I find that very amusing.

Pinkie Pie

Favorite Thing: How selfless she is, being the element of laughter isn't about making herself laugh and her parties aren't for making herself have fun, there for others, she wants to make others laugh, she keeps extensive data on people so she know how she can best give joy to them, it's just so wholesome to me.

Least Favorite thing: I really don't know, anything I can really think of also makes her one of the more likable characters in other scenes. I'm stumped

My Favorite Canon Relationship: Her and Cheese Sandwich cause they are just so cute! How she brought back his smile and joy it's just... come on I can't not love them right? And the fact that they are equally cheery and goofy in the finale is just so sweet.

My Favorite Non-Canon Relationship: Same as Twilight's really, her and another member of the Mane Six just works, no matter who it is, or all together as I said, friendship and love are so closely linked it just works.

Sexuallity Headcanon: Pan, once again the colors are literally in her color scheme, she's pink all over, her eyes are blue and her cutie mark has yellow in it, plus it makes sense to me, Pinkie doesn't care about gender, she just wants her partner to be able to make her laugh and be cute while laughing themselves, gender got nothing to do with that.

What I'd do if I could spend the day with them: I'd say baking but already did that with Peach, um... look around her party planning cave, sounds like an interesting expirience.

I love discussing sexuality, and anything gay really LOL 🏳️‍🌈♥️ 🌈 A lot of these will probably be head canon/vibe based because there isn't stuff to base it on in the show (at least not yet XD)

Okay so, I think my opinions on Mike and Will's sexualities are a little obvious aha <3. I think both Mike and Will are gay, and I did a short little analysis of why I think Mike is gay, rather than bi/pan, here :) I think Will is gay because he has never shown any interest in girls, so I think that completely rules out the chance he could be bi/pan.

I think Max is bi, and I think El is pan, and I have a post about it here, discussing Elmax hehe (ik I already gave you the link to in a previous ask but imma do it again, bc I don't wanna exclude Max and El from this <3 I hope you don't mind!)

Also a little detail adding to Max not being straight, is that her bed sheets are the exact same rainbow pattern as the "pride flag" in Wet Hot American Summer (which is on the st4 vsf list), that we see at a baseball game, between a gay couple hooking up and getting married 😉 (that post here)

I think realistically Dustin is probably straight, but I just get bi/pan vibes from Dustin, so I head canon him as bi/pan/. He's so accepting of others and is totally for liking whoever you like, I think it would make sense, but I know there isn't really proof for this head canon, and I think it does make sense for him to be straight in the show LOL

I think Lucas is straight, mainly because the show contrasts him and Mike a lot, especially in season 3, where Mike is trying to mimic Lucas, but he's failing miserably XD. I feel like Lucas and Mike represent opposite ends of the spectrum in a sense, like that their characters are meant to show the differences in their sexualities, to emphasize Mike is gay. I'm sorry don't really know hoe to explain that. Kind of like Lucas being a foil to Mike. Also, Lucas doesn't show any interest in men (or hasn't yet) so I feel like he is straight.

Obviously we have our favorite Lesbian Robin 👑, but Barb gives me strong lesbian vibes as well. Those outfits and just her vibe LOL, and I feel like there may be a little crush on Nancy too? I think, if I remember correctly, in the Rebel Robin podcast, it's hinted that Barb was confiding in the same teacher Robin does (who is a gay man, and apparently Barb knew that), before she disappeared, so that could be a parallel showing both Robin and Barb are lesbians. 🤷‍♀️

I feel like Hopper is straight. Just the vibes on this one, and he's never shown any interest in men either. He's kinda the most masculine man in some ways, in the show, so it would be cool if he wasn't straight, but we don't have any evidence he is not straight, and he has only shown interest in women. Joyce gives me "straight, but I experimented and questioned my sexuality before" vibes. Or maybe she is unlabelled 👀. But she hasn't really shown any interest in women wither so who knows.

I think Argyle (although we haven't met him yet) will probably be straight, but a great ally like Dustin, although I want to head canon him as unlabelled LOL. He just seems so open and you know the whole pot head hippie culture really fights against societal conventions, and those people are usually some kind of outcast, so I don't think it's entirely out of the question Argyle is not straight XD

I'm not sure what vibes I get from Eddie yet, I am excited to learn more about his character, but just from pics and character descriptions, I feel like he's either straight or bi.

I get bi vibes from Jonathan, with a female preference. I could definitely see him having interest in men, with how he rejects societal conventions as well, but he seems to show a lot of interest in Nancy too, so I feel like he majoritively likes women. He also seems very open to being accepted as a "freak" by society, I think he would accept himself no matter what people said or thought, about anything really - because of the zombie boy conversation with Will in season 2. But again, we don't have any evidence really Jonathan is bi, so it's just a head canon rn aha.
