Season One of Doctor Who: Redacted was produced and directed by Ella. She also wrote on episodes 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8! The theme song was composed by Amber @tincanaudio.

90 on my randomised list is @folxlorepod!
A horror story by queer people, about queer people. Set in Glasgow, the series focuses on a tenement building and its residents. The story explores everyday horrors queer folk face, and the not-so-everyday, as a rift begins to open up to another reality.
A completed series of four seasons, a total of 27 episodes.

Looking for podcast recs?
I'd love to shout out two amazing shows I started listening to this week!
InCo (by @itmeblog) is a scifi adventure about an Information Courier, Nova, a mysterious boy with some unbelievable claims and an android who is simply trying her best! The episodes are delightfully short, leading to a fast paced and thoughtfully written story. I'm always in awe of podcasts where all the voices are done by one person and ItMe smashes it in InCo! I'm loving the show so far!
Folxlore (@folxlorepod) is a Scottish, queer horror anthology podcast with a particular focus on the queer and Scottish. The writing is beautifully poetic and is brought to life by a talented team of VAs. The first season follows the spooky occurrences around a block of flats in Glasgow and I was so delighted when I realised that the separate stories were linked together in intriguing ways!
Go listen! I'd love to know what you think or if you have any new shows to recommend in return!!

The audio note: [there is uproar, some kind of spooky building crunchy noises? The letterbox starts flapping again, the sounds of many letters flying in all at once. So many letters.]
The audio:
Video description: David Devereux is sitting in front of a mic with headphones on. They have a blank stare. They slowly raise a handful of envelopes to the mic and start flapping aggressively, until all the envelopes have either fallen to the ground or torn. They start laughing.
Want to hear more of Dev's brilliant sound design? Episode 1 of the second season of Folxlore is out now!

😌- comfort podcast
Ooh good one!
I don't really have one, but I do cycle through three comfort podcasts:
- folxlore is high up on my comfort list bc it's so lovely to be sad and have someone like,,, validate that? Or be going through it themself??
- love and luck is also something I go back to when I'm feeling down, there's just something so beautiful about these two queer people creating a safe space for everyone else in their community idk it gives me hope
- last but not least, me and au is a frikking cute one shot podcast when you're feeling down istg the number of times I've binge relistened to it and just felt my burdens lift, it's amazing
Thanks for the ask!!♡

Seeing all the love for Welcome to Night Vale reminds me of being on here in 2013. It's been some time since I've been a regular listener but it definitely makes me want to go back now there's official transcripts! (My auditory processing issues make podcasts challenging for me.)
If you're a horror podcast fanatic looking for something new or just wanting more explicitly queer horror storytelling, Folxlore (@folxlorepod) is a terrific podcast set in Glasgow (transcripts here). Listening to Folxlore recently had me thinking about how much I enjoyed WTNV as a teen, so I'm taking the Cecil Sweep as another sign leading me back to that strange desert town. Glasgow is also weird and available in real life.

Folxlore tells the stories of queer people living literally and figuratively between two worlds. In one sense, we try to live normal lives while the world tells us we are not normal. In another sense, our normal lives are interrupted by a very not-normal rift opening up between our world and another plane of existence filled with nightmarish horrors. Folxlore is rooted in everyday Glasgow, where monsters are always on the edge of your periphery. Season 2 is coming March 5! (Transcripts linked in show notes)

Audio Fiction Sunday 30th April 2023
It's Audio Fiction Sunday! Here's my weekly blog post of some of the podcasts I've been listening to this past week!
Personal Highlights Folxlore: S2E08 – SnapThis episode returns to Zarah and Annie, with a focus on Zarah and how the building’s jump to the Other Side has affected her. We’ve seen some positive depictions of life in this new world in this season, but here we have a depiction of how difficult and complicated it can be. Leaving your old life behind is more difficult for some of the characters here…
