Saturday 1st July
Worked 7am-4pm, had a pretty good day if a little stressful bc both managers were off so I was in charge of the busiest day of the week on pay weekend with no extra staff lolzzzz. But truly it was fine. I like it when the managers aren't there and I can make my own decisions, especially when I see them working. So work was fine.
Came home feeling tired but not exhausted, Matt was going out with his friend for the evening so I took Maggie out for what was supposed to be just a short walk but we saw one of her friends so they had a good run round and I'm so glad we saw them bc she's been pretty chilled out the rest of the night.
Got home and was feeling good so did some chores and then a really good upper body / core workout. Hit a PR for reverse rows (3 full sets of 16 reps each arm) and shoulder presses (3 sets of 8 without having to make it part of a compound move like snatches etc as a little break between reps). I've been dying to do a proper workout all week so really enjoyed this and felt so good after. Also flex for @thisgingersnapped50 sorry it took so long to get around to!
Had a bath, now having more veggie dumplings for dinner at 10pm lol. I'm finally done for the day 😌

It’s been months since I last bought myself a new toy, so I decided a few weeks ago I’d buy a few things to treat myself with. And oh my am I in for a treat! 😏😍 I already got one of my toys (a trainer @nal plug set) annndddd I tried the first plug while edging earlier.. 😳🫣🫨 holy shit do I love it!! It feels so nice to be plugged up, a perfect fullness, laying, sitting, and walking feel so different even with just the littlest one. I’m totally shook, but I totally get the appeal now and I’m so excited to use it more and slowly switch to the bigger ones!
I will probably be deleting this post in the morning when this euphoria ends 😅

The flowers in the city garden are glowing after all this rain. The beet root is normal sized, cucumber and zucchini are big and, unsurprisingly, watery. The blueberry bushes are full of berries, but I never see a ripe one, just empty places where it should be. I hope whoever eats them enjoys them. The mirabelle tree is dropping off the blemished fruits and while I cleaned the grass from the real squishy moldy ones I put some fresher but already half eaten ones aside to make a little fly and wasp buffet.

My Sewing Journey Pt 2
I have finished my second circle skirt! This is the same pattern and fabric as my first, just a different color.
Some major improvements:
The waistband actually lines up at the zipper! (And look at those sharp corners!)
The hemline (mostly) lines up! To the point that it will be easy to hem up!
The overall finish is just... so much cleaner. Also, the waistband was no longer short on fabric when I attached it to the skirt.
So what did I learn?
Chalk out your stitch lines on the fabric. This was a huge game changer in terms of getting smooth, even stitch lines.
Stay stitch your curved edges. This kept the fabric in place when attaching the waistband.
Attach the waistband with the waistband side on top. This helps feed the two fabrics at the same rate when attaching a curve to a straight line, and reduces the odds of your waistband coming up short as you get to the end of the seam.
Stitch along the curve. This also helps reduces the chances of you running out of waistband fabric.
This was all just the result of me bingeing youtube tutorials in the days between attempts, and learning from past mistakes. I have not yet taken my official sewing class, and I used the exact same pattern as before. I'm really enjoying the process of learning.
Up next...
Either a Simplicity pattern for a skirt made of cotton twill, or a Vogue patter for a men's short sleeve buttondown. I would default to the skirt for the sake of taking baby steps, but I hoped to have the shirt done in time for father's day, so we'll have to see.
