Started watching a "problem with greek myth retellings" video and it began with a blurb montage like "Condemned by the misogynist guys of history, this is the true girlboss feminist story of [A WOMAN]" and like. brb writing one of those about crown prince rudolf. It's ok he's like a misunderstood girlboss to me<3
#NASJASKSDFKDSLFDGJDFJ#joking. since those retellings seem to be often bad#fun fact i do have ideas for like a black teen comedy series with mary as the protagonist where the ending is like a harrowing twist#like you think it won't go that far but it does and the point is that she had historical agency and her own problems and personal journey#but in the end it spiralled catastrophically due to both crown prince rudolf related events and others#unfortunately writing one would draw the ire of both misogynist rudolf conspiracy theorists (how dare you suggest women have agency) AND a#certain type of feminist media critiquer person: (1) how dare you cover a topic like that flippantly 2) how dare you make rudolf anything#but an inhuman monster of a r*pist murderer gr**mer or whatever in the story#like idk man.. other male characters portrayed as romantic interests in mainstream media are toxic r*pists all the time. like omg i hate ho#'the great' handles p*ter and catherine because i was rooting for them to remain toxic and for catherine to kill him or whatever but then#she starts falling in love with him in s2 and everyone in tumblr is like omg hot sexy toxic romance. like cant we have ONE series where#straight romance doesnt inevitably become the overbearing focus?? i had wlw ships for that show.. they never pulled through...#anyway um yeah. the way i would portray rudolf in that is that mary sees him as this romantic hero which is emphasised in the way its shot#but he's constantly acting in kinda offputting and strange ways and is occasionally pretty pathetic and weird ASHDJFJF#^^ that's never been a deterrent to anyone ever. most rudolf biographers want to [redacted] him this has been proven by the way they write.#the only ones that dont are me (well not a real biographer but a rudolf enjoyer nonetheless) and brigitte hamann /hj#(she actually doesnt salivate over his appearance like frederick morton does xD only quotes 2 contemporary women commenting on it)

regretfully. sadly. dismally. love did not find a way this year but that is ONLY because it was forcibly taken from us!! love, however, is STILL real and STILL exists on the minnesota wild it will NOT abandon us because of the dallas fucking stars.

HER MAGIC IS SO POWERFUL IT LITERALLY STOPPED HOW MANY KEYBLADES THAT WERE GOING FULL FORCE#theres also a quote from the nort reports in bbs saying 'let his darkness strengthen the light and the light deepen the darkness' about ter#and i think CONSTANTLY about how easily that couldve been twisted to fit aqua; someone already blindly following eraqus's tutelage#to a fault. she also proved she was stronger than terra enough to become a master. all of this to say#I THINK ABOUT A BBS WHERE AQUA HAD A SIGNIFICANT ROLE AS A POTENTIAL VESSEL SINCE XEHANORT DID CONSIDER IT I BELIEVE IN ONE NORT REPORT#and even if she didnt get norted. 0.2 makes me LOSE IT i swear to god this is literally her in THE hell dimension and slowly losing herself#i know its a kids game but like. a 0.2 horror-esque game (moreso than some of the elements it already uses) wouldve been INCREDIBLE#and dont get me started on how i think 0.2 shouldve ended tragically and with aqua at least hinted to falling to darkness#and not in a single scene in kh3 that is literally not even about her. im so fucking mad about anti aqua in kh3 still#thank you for giving me an outlet to rant about aqua im. !!!!!!!!!!! Saw a bunch of hedge apples in front of a culvert earlier today. There were no trees for them to fall off of, so they must have been washed down the culvert from afar by runoff!
I've actually been wanting some hedge apples (they're supposed to keep bugs away) but like hell am I taking some that were washed through a dirty drain pipe.

The recent trend where entire cults are formed around sharing just one bad opinion is so incredibly terrifying.
Echo chambers have always existed within social media but more than ever the people within them are actively recruiting others - if you go into any extremist tag you will see people openly bragging about successfully doing this.
But even outside of that we're feeling the effects of it, namely in the recent push to have to declare everything about yourself. You must state age, race, sexuality, gender, list your privileges and your alliances.
Complex, evolving, and nuanced issues are forced into binaries and you're encouraged to publicly make your stance. There's no time to learn and no room to change - you've written it in your bio. It may as well be engraved in stone.
We don't reward people for changing and learning and growing. It's even worse on platforms like tiktok where you've connected an opinion to your actual face forever.
And so you have to just keep digging in, even when information changes, even as the world changes.
And this is how it's happening, how these groups are forming - because isn't it safer and easier to just surround yourself with people who are all doing the same thing too? To find people to continually confirm your biases?
