Hotels defy consumer spending decline in December
Consumer spending continued to fall in the month of December with a 1% decline, however hotels managed to defy the trend – with spending having increased by 7.6%.
This is according to Visa’s UK Consumer Spending Index, which showed that overall expenditure declined 1% year-on-year in December – the fastest decline seen since April.
However hotels and restaurants outperformed other UK sectors in December, and experienced the joint-quickest rate of increase in the past 20 months.
For the whole of 2018 Visa’s index found expenditure has fallen in eight months of the year, underscoring “a relatively weak overall picture of household spending”. Lower expenditure was largely driven by a disappointing performance by the high street, as ‘face-to-face’ spending fell -1.6% on an annual basis in December. Visa also found that online spending remained “relatively subdued”, with expenditure rising by just 0.5% year-on-year.
Adolfo Laurenti, European principal economist at Visa, said: “The further decline in UK consumer spending in December 2018 is a disappointment, but not a surprise. Notwithstanding a backdrop of low unemployment and rising wages, households remained very cautious at the end of the year – as they were for most of 2018.
“An acceleration in spending at hotels, restaurants and bars (+7.6% year-on-year) suggests that some categories of discretionary spending are holding up better than the market as a whole. And the modest pickup in ecommerce point to the resilience of digital channels of distribution, a favorable long-term trend that recent woes have not derailed.”

30 Photo Of Shower Tub Combo
Thank you to anyone who has visited this web 🙂.
Here, I hope anyone can find the various images, photos or illustrations needed. About anything in the bathroom. All 30 Photo Of Shower Tub Combo, I made the article mostly as news material to fill my empty time. (Hobby)
I created this web ... to share pictures and info to all of you who are the same as I like writing and writing. In addition, Hasan also deliberately made this blog as a medium to upload various images about the bathroom, especially bathtubs for bathtub categories.
Bathroom shapes and dimensions have wide variations with respect across the space availability in your house. Apart from your regular square and rectangular shapes, some bathrooms have odd-shaped extensions. Still, others might have a different angle within the corner because adjacent walls probably won't lie perpendicular together.
Similarly, traditional Japanese baths doubles in small bathrooms. Their width is gloomier than that regarding standard baths and their depth is reasonably higher. Due to this feature, small bath manufacturers are incorporating this feature with their products.
However, you'll have a solution for virtually any odd space, inside light that bathroom designing has undergone a radical change. The bathtub, which serves for the reason that point of luxury, has evolved immensely. The following paragraphs discuss the functions of 30 Photo Of Shower Tub Combo, with regards to their size, type and application.
Apart easily obtainable innovations, the traditional rectangular shapes are substituted for circular and elliptical shapes, which fit well in corners, without occupying which is not space. Manufacturers provide to feature massage jet features and whirlpool features, that could develop a home spa. Walk-in designs have a very doorway for simple entry, so that it is safe with the elderly and disabled.
The main difference is that the former is manufactured out of lightweight acrylic, because latter is constructed of heavy surefire. As certain have reached the mercy of rust, you may should use mild cleansers that don't ruin the top. Further, you need to find an alternative strategy to conceal the plumbing because tub might be over the walk-out, plus check if the bottom can bear any extra weight inside iron tub. The quaint form of claw foot tubs is a superb mixture of functionality and attractiveness. Being deeper than usual, it forms an unbelievable soaking tub as well as the design has been adopted inside present small bath designs.
Freestanding baths have a very traditional renown because they were common in older eras, such as the Victorian era. They were claw foot bathtubs that stood on claw-like feet fixed under each corner. Over time, these were replaced by today's standard tubs that have been used for the reason that past decades. Standard models usually have a length of five feet and tend to be installed near a wall. Clawfoot tubs can be purchased as reproduction models and also as genuine vintage models.
In addition, for the home spa features mentioned previously, you may also improve the functionality of your bathroom by combining a shower with all the tub. Better known as the 'shower tub combo' design, this innovative idea is a large welcome feature from your contemporary bathroom design industry. It is also evolving constantly to incorporate more luxuries and features.
Therefore, its clear which a small bath gives a lavish bath although its length is leaner than that relating to the traditional 30 Photo Of Shower Tub Combo. The concept would be to make tub deeper, exactly like traditional claw foot freestanding baths or Japanese baths, to help you lay over a chair built inside tub and soak well within the neck-deep water.

Research Software Engineer (fixed-term post) (CA6137R)
Research Software Engineer (fixed-term post)
To feel truly immersed in virtual reality, one needs to be able to freely look around within a virtual environment and see it from the viewpoints of one’s own eyes. Immersion requires ‘freedom of motion’ in six degrees-of-freedom (‘6-DoF’), so that viewers see the correct views of an environment. As viewers move their heads, the objects they see should move relative to each other, with different speeds depending on their distance to the viewer. This is called motion parallax and is a vital depth cue for the human visual system that is entirely missing from existing 360° VR video.
To achieve 6-DoF VR video that enables photorealistic exploration of dynamic real environments in 360° virtual reality, this project will develop novel video-based capture, 3D reconstruction and rendering techniques. We first explore different approaches for capturing static and dynamic 360° environments, which are more challenging, including using 360° cameras and multi-camera rigs. We start with 6-DoF 360° VR photographs (i.e. static scenes) and then extend our approach to 6-DoF VR videos.
The main focus of this job is to translate research algorithms into plugins for industry-standard software like Foundry’s CaraVR/Nuke, for example for reconstructing the 3D geometry of the environments from the captured images and videos of 360° environments. Extending image-based rendering to 360° environments will then enable 6-DoF motion within a photorealistic 360° environment with high visual fidelity, and will result in detailed 360° environments covering all possible viewing directions.
Another focus of this job is to oversee the software development within the project team (and potentially other additional CAMERA projects). This is to ensure best practices with respect to software design, implementation, testing, version control and documentation.
Our aim is to publish the resulting research and results in leading computer vision and computer graphics venues, specifically CVPR/ICCV/ECCV, IJCV and/or SIGGRAPH (Asia)/Transactions on Graphics.
You will join the vibrant Visual Computing group at Bath, which comprises around 30 doctoral students, 5 post-doctoral researchers and 8 academics, and presents many opportunities for collaborative work and shared publications.
This role is offered on a 32-month fixed-term contract.
Informal enquiries should be directed to Dr Christian Richardt ([email protected]).

“Ugly” Bullet Journalling
Rebecca Renner writing for Book Riot:
Ugly bullet journals are a wonderful thing. They exist. It’s just that a lot of them are hiding, ashamed to show their pages amongst their more Insagrammable peers.
But that’s ridiculous, because it seems to me that, contrary to the perfectly measured and color-coded reputation bullet journals have garnered, this style of organization lends itself well to the messiness of life.
Mine probably qualifies as an “ugly” Bullet Journal. I’ve also seen them call a guy’s Bullet Journal or minimal. I supposed the name doesn’t matter, it just means that you’re not drawing a bunch of stuff on every page turning it into an art piece.
I’m in favour of building a tool that works for you, not one that photographs well.
You can see my mostly ugly Bullet Journal December setup here:

UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships
The fourth round of UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships will open shortly, with a UKRI deadline in October 2019 (exact date to be confirmed).
Potential applicants should submit their internal application (proforma template no later than 5 July 2019 to the Associate Dean for Research (ADR), with a copy to [email protected].
Due to the requirement for host contribution to fellows salary, and offer of an open-ended post after the fellowship, all applications must be strongly supported by the Head of Department.
The key criteria for this scheme are:
quality and excellence - applicants must demonstrate exceptional potential to be world-leading, and plan to address a multi-faceted research or innovation challenge
applicants need to be clear on what they will gain from the long-term, flexibility offered by the scheme - what is the added value of an FLF for the applicant and/or why are standard grants or RC Fellowships not optimal?
FLFs are for early career researchers/academics and offer a step-change; not for already established academics or those who have benefited from significant fellowships - see round 1 funded applicants
enhanced host commitment and tailored support for the fellow is crucial, e.g. career development opportunities
strong applicants consider leadership and career development for themselves and the staff they plan to employ on the award
applicants may only have one fellowship under consideration by any part of UKRI at any one time, unless explicitly stated otherwise
Further information
Full details of the internal selection process.
RIS is running @Home with UKRI Future Leaders Fellowships on 14 June.

Barre Fluid 6-Week Course
Excellent knowledgeable teacher and a great space. I would highly recommend.
THE CLASS
A motivating and enjoyable class which is both suitable for those with ballet experience as well as total beginners.
Based on Port de Barre’s signature Barre Fluid class, Barre Fluid Fitness uses movements similar to those used in ballet conditioning which sculpt the body, by toning and strengthening. The workout is minimal impact but has the capacity to burn fat, just like a high intensity work out. Small isometric movements are performed which fire up the muscle, making it more elastic, and encouraging length, without building bulk. The muscles tense without changing length and then are stretched intermittently which again, is conceptually like dance training. The overall result is an all over body workout which tones the thighs and arms, flattens the stomach and lifts the bottom – ultimately working towards the appearance of a lean dancer’s physique. The workout is continuous and incorporates a warm up, barre section, core work on the floor and a stretch to cool down. In each class participants receive maximum correction to specifically target posture and alignment, strength, co-ordination and flexibility.
THE TUTOR
Tamsyn Butt has worked as a professional dancer and dance teacher for over 19 years. She was co-founder and artistic director of XS Dance Theatre (2001-2008) and has also been involved in commercial dance choreography for TV production. She has a BA (Hons) in Dance, a PGCE in Dance Teaching from the Royal Academy of Dance, a Dance Diploma from London Contemporary Dance School and an MA in Dance Theatre from Trinity Laban Conservatoire. Parallel to her performance work, Tamsyn’s teaching career has been as Head of Dance at secondary level and Dance Lecturer at FE level. She has also taught contemporary dance technique at Danceworks and The Place, London. Tamsyn is currently proposing her practice research PhD and is founder and director of Port de Barre, a Bath based company specialising in dance, fitness and wellbeing.

COMPARE PENIS ENLARGEMENT PRODUCTS
PENIS ENLARGEMENT PILLS
You name it, it’s out there! The scams range from Penis enlargement pills to penis patches and are primarily sold over the internet endorsed by celebrity names and promises that are unrealistic and do not have any real foundation in the real world.
Flora Research of California and the University of Maryland have done analyses into the substances found in these pills and found contaminants that are very harmful for your body such as mould, yeast, E. Coli Bacteria, pesticides and lead.
Do you really want to swallow that?
PENIS ENLARGEMENT PUMPS
The definition of a Penis pump is according to Wikipedia a cylinder shape that fits over your penis, either with manual or motorized pump to create a vacuum. Penis pumps have been found to be effective and draw blood into the penis by creating a higher inner blood pressure inside the tube thus expanding your penis tissues.
Pumping must be done very carefully with these traditional devices as almost none of them have any kind of safety mechanisms built into them and can cause great harm with burst blood vessels and form blisters. In some cases, the testicles can be pulled unexpectedly into the cylinder causing severe pain and possible injury.
Peyronie's Disease can be acquired with the improper use or when using a substandard penis pump and it is a deformity that no man wants to self-inflict.
PENIS STRETCHERS
Penis extenders work in a similar fashion to Penis Pumps, by exercising the penile muscle, and making it expand through repeated exercise over a period of time. Extenders can work well, but do have some issues compared with other techniques. To get results with a penis extender, requires the wearer to use contraption for a long time each day. As it cumbersome, it is difficult to wear under clothes and therefore must be done at home. Penis extenders can break, and when they do, can cause tissue damage to the penis.
SURGERY
Penile lengthening is the most common technique to lengthen the penis and involves cutting the suspensory ligament and then performing plastic surgery to provide additional skin to cover its new length.
However, the suspensory ligament does have a role, in that it helps keep the penis pointing upwards during erection. After it has been divided, that support is no longer present.
After surgery, some men find that they have gained a small increase in flaccid length, but the erect penis is about the same size and now points towards the floor!

RANT OF THE DAY: Everything Old is Literally New Again ~ Old Candle Name, New Candle
Lately BBW has started thi new trend of seemingly bring back an old scent from out of the vault, getting all of us candle enthusiasts (especially us ol schoolers) super excited....yet some of said candles don't quite smell right. In fact they smell completely different and not even close to what it used to smell like.
So far, since last fall it has happened with four candles...
So the old Caramel Apple was a Slatkin era scent and was a popular fall staple in the late 2000s/early 2010s. After 2012, it completely disappear. Overall, it was a cute scent - very appley with a hint of pear, a brown sugar-y caramelliness and a hint of nuttiness; it legit smelled like caramel apple dipped in nuts
The new CA.. not the same. It basically smelled like a spice-less Cider Lane..which was already out so what was the point of releasing something similar?
Apple Garland was test scent from winter 2013; for whatever reason, the candle failed but the wf bulb went wide. Well there was dfinitely a Autumn-esque quality to it, it was very heavy on the pine/balsam. Some folks even said that it smell similar to Merry Mistletoe..which I definitely disagree with
The new AG... doesn't smell the same. This new smells way too similar to Autumn and lacks all of the piney/balsam-y nuances of the old one. It just felt...safe.
Key Lime Pie tested and failed spring 2016. Just as well cuz it turned out to be a repackage. Problem was it was a repackage of WB exclusive from the year before - Tequila Lime Cupcake..which sucked cuz either way, very few got to experience either candle.
The New Sweet Shop Key Lime Pie.. once again, not the same...which in a way is great becuase the new version actually smells better and more authentic than the old one.
Finally, the latest candle chicanery is Island Hideaway in the upcoming unreleased tropical collection. Island Hideaway was a practically unheard of failed test collection from tropical themed "ribbed for your pleasure" tumbler collection in 2016. Good luck finding a review on it as it was super obscure and the few folks who were fortunate to find it..well..let's just say describing scents are not their forte.
That said, thanks to some scent sleuthing on social media (shout-out to Sellie/@sellielehmanallen), IS would later be repackaged as the scent we now know as Driftwood Surf
And the new version..yep, you guessed it...not the same. As soon as I saw the change in note, I sensed trickery afoot. From what I've heard, it has a watery/oceanic/ozonic vibe similar to Seasalt & Freshwater/Sea to Santorini
So what's the point of this tomfoolery? I have some theories...
Perhaps for fiscal/financial reasons, BBW is using a cheaper downgrade of fragrances (anyone until BBW before 2014 can tell you how returning candles smell either muddled and lighter than in pervious years); that said, maybe there are scents that BBW just can't completely replicate.
Perhaps it's a test to see if the new version will sell better than the previous version.
Perhaps it's a calculated marketing strategy to get more candles flying of the shelves - give em the old candle razze-dazzle. Lure the old schoolers with the promise of returning old scents from the vaults while duping the enwbies who really wouldn't know any better.
Whatever it is, this trend is annoying and it needs to stop!

8 Month’s With a Mamiya Leaf Credo 80
Its been a busy 8 months since I first started shooting with the Mamiya Leaf Credo 80, first impressions were experienced in the USA in August, when a client shoot gave me the opportunity to do a small road trip with fellow explores Shannon and Karen. Since returning to the UK from that trip, I spent a weekend with Gina, Mike and Danny on an adventure up north capturing abandoned buildings all over the North of England. In September I went with Adam, James and Sam to Belgium, popping into Germany briefly. In October I went to France and Luxembourg with Darren, Dursty and Nick and later that month did my first model in an amazing underwater ballroom and my second in November in Lincoln with the theme of the Lady in Black.

2015 has been even more busy, my feet haven’t touched the ground, I started the year with a model shoot with Jen Brooke in Belgium, followed by another with Stephanie Warwick in France, then off to Bulgaria, Iceland for two weeks and then Ukraine to visit Chernobyl again in April. This is just the beginning my travel plans for the next couple of years are getting more exciting by the day in 2016 I intend to leave the UK on the 1st January and not come home again till December 1st, traveling around Asia, South America Europe and all over the USA.

It’s wonderful to be so busy after spending a few months in 2014 plotting and planning what the next 3 years will hold and choosing the Mamiya Leaf Credo 80 to accompany me on these 3 future book projects is a decision I won’t regret.

For me the equipment I use is a tool to create the photos I make, you always need the right tool for a job, I recently made the decision to start using a medium format Mamiya Leaf camera with Credo 80 back, with a huge 80 mega pixel sensor, I made this choice, not because it was one of the most top of the range systems you can buy, but because it was the right tool for the job for me.

As my artworks are destined for print and customers buy them at massive sizes, I needed a tool that could produce amazing quality at such size. The quality and dynamic range is something I could not have achieved with my previous SLR.

Using the system at first was a bit of a learning curve, but I knew it would be worth it, my first impressions of the system were back in May when I used it in Israel for a street photography shoot in Jaffa Market. I was instantly taken away by the photos I took that day and knew I had to try out the system again. I’m not going to lie, the camera with digital back and a decent lens is expensive, but it is also the perfect system for any fine art  or commercial photographer when prints size goes beyond the realms of the magazine into fine art prints of gigantic preparations and billboard sized client images.
Taken by Gina Soden
The first thing I noticed about using the camera, was how simple it was to use, there is something very basic about the menu system and accessing the settings and photos once taken. It was a little strange at first when an SLR gives you so many options, so many focus points, with the medium format it felt like I was leaning more towards a film camera and the feel of the camera felt very genuine and real. The camera also boast an amazing touch screen back which allows you to scroll through the images and zoom in using touch technology, which is pretty awesome.
What I love most about the system is the detail captured the final RAWS are 10328 x 7760 pixels 300dpi the seniors is 80mp. Unfortunately the detail is completely lost when scaled down to upload to the internet and even worse with social media sites like Facebook destroying the quality of the files. But when printed out at full glory you can truly see how remarkable the detail is, every cm is blissful detail goodness.
I think it is amazing that I can take a crop of a single image and it have the same image size of that as a SLR, but still with incredible detail and dynamic range. A lot of my model work is a model in a setting and for me its all about the setting they are in, therefore sometime the model is quite small in the frame, a problem? Yes when a makeup artist would like  close up for their books. But this isn’t a problem as I can take a close up crop of the model and be able to send it at the size of a SLR file to the team members. It’s a very strange thing to be able to edit at 100% of a face that is so small in the actual shot, but still feel like I am retouching a SLR file with the amount of detail at that size.
100% Crop of below photo
I’ve truly put the system through its paces, I must admit as medium format systems are generally suited more to studio situations, I was worried about taking it on my huge amounts of travels to distant lands, carrying it round dirty abandoned buildings, to freezing cold Iceland in the depth of its winter, but I have had no problems, the system is robust and if well looked after it is a work horse. It would be great to get some kind of weather proofing on future models, but I had no problems putting on a rain jacket and it performing well, even at a frozen waterfall in Iceland with water spray from the falls that was freezing my tripod.
The system has a top iso of 800, which for some would be a problem, but again you get a system that suits the job you do, the camera goes does to 35 iso which is a bonus for me shooting in daylight. I use a tripod and long exposures and never go above 100 iso anyway so this is not a problem for me.

I use Capture One Pro to process my images, before I was using the Credo 80 I would use HDR techniques to combine various images shot at different exposures by tone mapping. But I haven’t had to do this at all using this system, I can pull the shadows and highlights back from a  single exposure and create a beautiful image with great dynamic range. Occasionally I will shoot a window at a shorter exposure as there’s no pulling back a totally over exposed window, but I am so happy with the way this software deals with the RAWs captured
I then finish my editing in Photoshop CS6 and its an absolute joy working with such an incredible amount of pixels
I still have my canon 5Diii but I use the Mamiya Leaf now for 80% of what I do, there are still some client job which I need something smaller and that I will be shooting a lot and often hand held in low light situations. Every system has its highs but also its limitations and if I am asked to photograph an event at night and the client wants 400+ shots, then I would shoot on my Canon.
I have truly fallen in love with this system and can’t see myself shooting my fine art photography work with anything again, the quality of images printed is beautiful beyond words and I’m looking forward to how my books will look in a couple of years, printed using this camera.

Top Tips to Manage Screen Time in Your Household
If you’re like most parents, you are constantly despairing about how much time your kids spend with their noses glued to a screen, whether that’s their smartphone, a tablet, laptop, TV or another gadget. The number of hours children spend looking at screens is rising and doesn’t look likely to decrease any time soon.
As a result, it’s important to think about ways you can manage how screen time is handled in your household. You don’t need to cut out your child’s access to screens completely — and realistically, you can’t as kids need to use computers for homework and cellphones for safety when they’re out and about. However, you can definitely take steps to ensure screens aren’t taking over their lives totally. Read on for some tips to follow today.
Have Clear Goals
First up, make sure you have clear goals when it comes to how you want things to change in your household. It’s not about what you’ve heard other parents talk about or what other kids are allowed to do; work out what screen time rules you feel comfortable putting in place for your children.
In addition, don’t forget that you need to know how you will tell if certain goals are achieved. That is, what measurements will you put in place for the new behaviors you want to see in your children? There will likely be things you want and things you don’t want to see after a certain amount of time. Set measurable, specific goals, and communicate these to your children if they’re old enough, so they know what’s expected of them.
Take Into Consideration the Various Screens Your Child has Access to
When coming up with strategies around screen time, don’t forget to take into consideration all the different types of screens your child has access to. When you were young, it was likely only TV screens that you spent time in front of, but today’s youth often use a wide variety of screen tech, including smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktop computers, e-readers, video games and so on.
To create appropriate screen time rules, you will want to add up all the potential screen time your child could have. Then you may decide to put a total daily or weekly limit in place for all screens or cut out certain screen on some days or at particular times. You may also choose to be more flexible about when and how your children use screens when it’s for educational, productive activities such as homework, project research or extracurricular learning.
Enforce the Rules
Once you’ve worked out a plan when it comes to screen time, make sure you enforce the rules you put in place; otherwise, there isn’t much point in the process. For example, you might decide that your child won’t be allowed to watch TV on a weekday until after dinner and after they’ve completed their homework and certain chores. Stay consistent, and don’t allow them to watch TV one afternoon just because they beg and plead or because you don’t want to have a fight with them.
If you can’t always be around to supervise your child’s screen time, and if you think they might struggle to do what you’ve asked, you may need to utilize some online parental controls to keep kids away from screens. Once these are in place, you won’t have to worry so much about your child accessing the content you don’t want them to when you’re not at home.
Model Positive Screen Behavior
Of course, it’s also important to “walk the walk” and model the positive behavior you’d like your children to display. After all, kids are always looking to their parents to see how to do things, and if they notice that you set strict rules for them but are always on your phone or laptop, particularly during times when they’re forbidden from using a screen (such as during dinner), you’ll be sending mixed messages.
Help your children be more amenable to following the screen time rules you put in place by managing your own consumption. Show them you are making the choice to live differently, and they’ll be significantly more receptive to and understanding of the new rules.
