I love how I can better identify individuals in did systems than people in a group. I am faceblind, for me it means I need other cues to recognize the person ( way they walk, hair, style, accents).
I like watching did systems who have a Tik Tok account and I can accuratly say " oh hi Little queen nice to see you again" within like 3 seconds. In the meanwhile I couldnt recognize my classmates despite sharing the same class for 5 years and in Germany most of your school day is with the same class.
Is there a reason I can consistently recognize characters from this, despite being faceblind and never having seen the show?
Did they have unique lighting or something? Do the actors have very identifiable face shapes? I’m seeing gifsets of old white dudes (and white women, who are even harder for me to recognize!), and immediately thinking, ‘is this from the West Wing, that 90s sitcom that I think had Michael J Fox in it, and is about the government of a country I am not a citizen of?’ And then I’m CORRECT?!
It’s a very weird experience, and I am curious as to why it is happening.
Being faceblind is fun, because as a lesbian who has not come out to her parents I can be like "all men look the same/really similar to me" and "I don't find him attractive he looks like everyother dude [of that ethnicity ]". It's a get-out-of-talking-about-attractive-men-free card.
Being faceblind is fun I just entered a bar and I have no clue if I know should know those ppl, if they are flirting with me or if they are just gerally nice.
Hello!
I’m starting this blog because I adore “headcanon” blogs, and a blog like this will let me meet and interact with so many more faceblind people!
I’m Knife, they/them, I’m 19, and I’m faceblind!
Please send submissions or asks with characters you headcanon as faceblind!!
