Something I miss from earlier eras of the creative side of the internet was things just being unabashedly low-budget. Just all unashamedly amateur, unprofessional, ‘I don’t own a good camera but I have a story to tell you’, ‘I can’t afford a good mic but I have a song to sing for you,’ ‘I don’t have any kind of background in editing or lighting and I only just picked up this guitar last Tuesday but here’s an entire musical me and my friends wrote about our favourite book, we filmed it on a potato and put it up on YouTube in ten minute segments because we thought it was pretty funny.’
One of my pleasures is to gather or connect people i see suitable for each others together, online (by mentioning in comments or sharing profiles in DMs), such as artists, photographers, designers, any one who's in my field of interest or i follow on the Internet.
And i'm happy when i see them connect or collaborate 💚
i like to think that no two quintessence ghouls are the same. obviously no two ghouls are carbon copies of each other, but what i mean is that no two quintessence ghouls have the same abilities. omega’s skills are tied to healing, alleviating pain, tending physical ailments. aether is more tied to sensing emotions and thoughts of those around him, how they mentally interact with the world. swiss, in what bit of quintessence he has, is tapped into the chaos of the universe clearly. no one quite knows where phantom’s quintessence lies just yet. there’s no doubt his element is ever present and strong, they all feel it with the slightest shared touch. but it just hasn’t identified itself quite yet. some ghouls have theories of what it could be, dew and swiss have a bit of a bet going with each other despite mountain’s caution of leave him be. of course it bothers phantom sometimes that he doesn’t have a hold on his element, much less an identity for it, despite the pack telling him it’ll come in due time. sometimes he prods at aether, asking again “are you sure you can’t sense it?” every time aether will shake his head with a soft smile, telling him “just be patient, bug.”
Vecna’s plan requiring Mike to leave for California means nothing. The number 1 following Mike cryptically at the airport means nothing. Them barely giving us Mike’s perspective the last two seasons (despite him being the original protagonist) means nothing and it isn’t setting up his POV to be revealed in s5 bc the entire audience is completely comfortable with where Mike stands as a character in regards to his deeper feelings/motives. No confusion there so no need to address that. Mike saying How will I survive a whole week without you guys at the start of s4 wasn't foreshadowing his fate at the end of said week. Mike standing in front of exit signs 3+ times in s4 is probably just a coincidence. Mike being associated with gaping mouths in multiple moments spanning the entire series, even going back to his very first line on the show, means nothing at all. Nancy’s vision about her family (Mike) dying was mentioned at the end of s4, but it didn’t happen so probably won’t ever happen, even though there’s still another season left set directly after the events of s4. Will calling Mike the heart and how without heart they’d all fall apart, was not in any shape form foreshadowing something happening to Mike and them all falling apart, bc Mike is definitely just a prop and everything in relation to his story only holds meaning on the surface or for other characters arcs and couldn’t possibly be hinting at something deeper that’s being saved as one of the many surprises for the last season.
Do you ever think about how Judas hung himself on an olive branch. Canonically, the symbol of reconnection and having mercy and in that way, he was asking for mercy. Or do you have other things you just do at 5 in the evening.
Asuka is a tragic figure, a figure of mystery, a wild card, all because the only thing she wants in life is peace and quiet for herself and to feel in control- yet her secret heritage that may be hidden from her for her own protection and the reality that life is unpredictable and will go on with or without you keep ruining that delusion, that vision of how the world is meant to work to her, and she suffers regardless of what she wants, what she does, and how little she understands anything
She was born into a family preaching peace and balance and order while being a creature of violence, and puts a dozen mental locks and excuses over this truth to justify giving into her impulse for fighting by pretending she's justice when she does it
She keeps trying to build a place of safety but she's using sand and life is a wave that destroys, yet she stubbornly persists rather than give up, not drowned to the point of self centered suicidal loathing like Jin- there's contrast, where Jin is cloaked in death Asuka stubbornly clings to life and humanity as a normal person in a terrifying world
She's not a fucking narrative clone for Jun's own purpose, Asuka's purpose must be determined by Asuka herself
If decarabian was a gamer he would have the most decked out setup imaginable. 2000+ dollar custom keyboard where nearly everything but the internal components are made of solid gold. Top-of-the-line pc entirely encased in various ornately decorated gemstones. He would have at least five monitors (bonus points if they also double as surveillance monitors.) His gaming chair would in fact be a literal throne. At times he thinks that video game logic must surely apply to real life mortal human logic as well and vastly overestimates how durable most humans are.
