Need volume 10 so I can get the Blake and Yang vs Tyrian match up of my dreams
You got Yang, whose semblance relies on her taking the hit. Who’s been shown over and over to use her own body as a shield so that her loved ones don’t get hurt. She’s been able to use it as more than a last resort in more recent volumes but it still requires her to store up the energy by taking the hit while her aura is gradually depleted.
Then you’ve got Tyrian, an incredibly good close quarters fighter like Yang but with an acrobatic ability closer to Blake’s and a semblance that cuts straight through people’s auras leaving them completely vulnerable. Burn is completely irrelevant if Tyrian goes for a lethal hit the first opportunity he gets
Blake on the other hand relies on her semblance to avoid taking the hit. She can create space for herself, put herself in a better position, and if she uses dust trap or hurt enemies with it. We’ve seen Blake avoid hits that would’ve killed her multiple times. If he can’t even hit her Tyrian’s semblance doesn’t mean shit
I want to see Blake just lose it again like she did at Neo for a bit after Yang fell but this time she doesn’t have to worry about Cinder. Let Blake be a little ruthless vs a serial killer. As a treat. I want to see this fight as a set up for Blake and Yang to finally talk about Yang’s self sacrificial tendencies.

Baby and the Bees: Postpartum
Blake is standing in her underwear, staring at her excess skin and stretchmarks on her stomach in the mirror. Yang is off putting their eight week old to bed after a final feeding.
Blake: (ears pinned back as she runs a hand over the stretchmarks)
Yang: Whew! That little one can eat! (strips off shirt) You ready to- Babe, what's wrong?
Blake: ...nothing...
Yang: Uh-uh, nope. Remember what we agreed on when we started this. I want to hear all your problems. (pulls Blake over to the bed and sits down) What's wrong?
Blake: (ears twitch) Do you.... I'm not.... (tries to cover herself)
Yang: Do you...not think you're attractive?
Blake: (nods)
Yang: (plants herself on her knees between Blake's legs and holds her waist tight)
Blake: Yang! What are you doing?
Yang: You are just as sexy and attractive now as you were when we first met.
Blake: (huffs a laugh) I don't exactly have the same figure as I did back then.
Yang: Let me finish! I don't care if you have the same figure or not. Back at Beacon, you were the mysterious kind of sexy. Mistral and Atlas, I was attracted to you because you were feisty and fun, and damn was it a turn on!
Yang: (rubs a soothing hand up Blake's back and nuzzles her belly) And now, you are still feisty, but you've also done something absolutely amazing. You've given us a baby, Blake! If the fire, strength, and sheer determination from that alone isn't enough to make you feel sexy, then I'm not showering you with enough praise to make you believe it!
Blake: (trying not to cry) You really think I'm still attractive?
Yang: Blake, you're the hottest thing in Remnant, and I'm not about to let anyone tell you or me otherwise. That includes you!
Blake: (holds Yang close) Thank you...
Yang: (returns embrace) You don't have to thank me. I'm only saying the truth. Now let's get to bed.
Blake: A-Actually... I've...um... The doctor said everything's healed up nicely.... We should be good to... you know... If you-
Yang: (tackles Blake playfully) You're on!

What’s hilarious to me is that Crwby has been relatively quiet this week compared to their trend of hyping each episode up this volume, and instead of that making us think “oh guess nothing cool happens this week” people are like “it’s too quiet and this makes me nervous.”
Like, Crwby has us trained at this point to be suspicious of everything whether they say anything or not. We just know we’re in for pain regardless.
They don’t even have to lift a finger we’re just psyching ourselves out now.
