Hardest part about trying to understand my own labels and identity (as someone who enjoys queer labels) is that I have so so little actual relationship experience. So sometimes I’m all comfortable with myself like “Yeah, I’m Bi and Poly” and other times I’m like “You’ve never dated a man and never tried a poly relationship how the fuck do you know?”
#esp with being Poly I’m like#the idea of being in a Poly relationship makes me feel very comfortable#I like attention a lot and I do my best to be very good about open communication nowadays#but also I think if I found a partner I love I’d be totally cool with being monogamous too if that’s what they want#like I don’t NEED a Poly relationship to he happy I just feel like I’d be comfortable in both monogamy and poly#but also not all types of ethical non-monogamy makes me feel comfortable?#Like I wouldn’t be ok with not knowing the other ppl. Ideally we’d just all be dating together as a unit#and I’d Definitely not be ok with my partner having another boyfriend/girlfriend/etc that I wasn’t romantically involved with#but those are such common components of poly/non-monogamy that I’m like ‘maybe I’m just not poly bc my idea of it is too idealistic’#ugh I dunno. feelin weird today.#don’t get me started on the ‘am I just a faker with a kink’ anxiety too#not a vent just talking

the way I feel like in a poly relationship they both absolutely love spoiling and caring for u, but in different ways. Hear me out:
Suguru shows his love by pretty much just taking on the responsibility of a caregiver, because he just falls into that role so easily. He’s the type to cook the foods he KNOWS you love the most for you, to wash your hair for you while you bathe in the luxury bathroom that’s dimly lit with your favourite scented candles and the tub that’s filled with bubbles and any extras you ask for, to brush and play with your hair while you do your night time skincare routine, to offer you a massage at the slightest sign of stress (his hands would be perfect for giving a massage I will fight anyone who disagrees) to always bring back your fav snacks and drinks if he sees them when he’s in public, to take on your own household chores if he notices you’re having a rough and/or unproductive day… <333 he’s so wife….
And then of course best boy satoru who loves like he might actually have a heart attack if he has to go one second without showing his utmost adoration for you (he’s a drama queen). but I love the fact we’ve all agreed he’s like a puppy- because in my head HE IS !! he acts like a lovesick puppy, on your tail 24/7. He’s the type of boyfriend (or husband ykwim….) who when you’re hanging out together and you get up to go to the bathroom, would follow you out of instinct because he’s just so used to being a clingy little bastard. and don’t even get me STARTED on the spoiling- I know you’ve mentioned it in a previous fic and I can’t help but agree so hard. but it’s not like he just gives you money and leaves you to your own devices, i get the feeling he’d want to be involved if you decide to go on a shopping spree. He’s the type to be totally fine with carrying all the shopping bags (I mean have u SEEN those muscles….), and just pay so much attention to you that it’s almost (almost) overwhelming. Paying full attention to which stores and items catch your eye, which clothes you pick out, etc etc

I genuinely love Caleb's default EA model, but jfc he's so annoying to work with in Blender. Exact same import process for these two with VERY different results. this is the main reason i don't render him as often as other characters despite him being my favorite to write.
as a rule, I don't alter townie/premade body shapes or facial features at all - that's the constraint I put on myself - but I'm using Caleb often enough now that I might need to make an exception... I've identified six separate points of failure on him that keep ruining my renders and it's annoying to deal with.
blender people, esp those with experience rendering caleb - i ramble about my problems under the cut, I'd appreciate advice or commiseration <3 i'm using cycles.
Caleb's hair is poorly fitted to the rest of his model, so when I try to clean up seams with 'merge by distance' I get those awful hairline shadows. I can generally fix those by separating the faces and then re-merging by distance, but it's a pain in the ass and doesn't always work. This happens with other sims, but not as consistently. It’s an enormous problem when I’m trying to subdivide the surface - I pretty much can’t do that with him.
Caleb's texture already has the shadow from his hair baked on - this is completely unnecessary bc I have lights casting actual shadows in the scene, and it makes him look like Prince Zuko face-on. I tried fixing this with lighting but I think it'll be easiest to just edit the shadows off of the texture.
His eyelids are very deep set, which causes some clipping issues & sometimes makes his eyeballs poke through the lids. I occasionally get this with Lilith and Morgyn, though much less often. I don't think this one is fixable, or worth putting too much time into trying to fix - I just have to be careful with poses, and I may occasionally need to pop an eyeball back into his face.
The bridge of his nose has a sharp dip, which results in some really odd shadows. I think the issue might be that it's too low-poly and it's rendering like a sharp edge, but I haven't had any luck trying to smooth out the surface without substantially changing the shape (i'm not great with meshes). This one is kinda tough for me - I actively do not want to change anybody's facial features, but I have to edit almost every single render I do of him to smooth out the shadows. I'm not trying to get rid of the dip or eliminate the shadows, I just want it to look more like it does in-game. I generally try to address this with Affinity later, but when I don't it kinda looks like he's wearing glasses, only without frames or lenses. His nose looks fine in the render above, but less so in the ones below.
Caleb has an unusually full upper torso, which sometimes causes issues with shirts around the collarbone. That's generally pretty easy to fix by merging some specific vertices on his chest, but it's still something I have to keep an eye out for. I definitely thought this particular mesh issue (the pit in his shirt at his collarbone) was part of the shirt until I looked closer.
Caleb's forearms are unusually thick relative to his wrists, which can make some poses look kinda weird. Jacob & the default model's wrists look pretty normal in this pose, but Caleb's wrists look very broken. This isn't necessarily something worth changing, but I do need to be careful with certain poses.
I think my biggest issue is the bridge of his nose - I can find a decent workaround to most of the other problems, but I haven't found a way to get around this one except editing the final render in Affinity, which can result in me inadvertently obscuring the shape and takes a fair amount of time.

can you be a teenager and be polyamorous?
this sounds like a silly question, but can i explain real quick-
so i’m, ofc, a teenager, and i’ve never actually been in any kind of romantic relationship before, or even kissed anyone - not that i don’t want to, my parents are just homophobic - and idk, i think i’m polyam, but… like, am i allowed to be, if i’m a teenager? i’m ace and i already know i don’t want any kind of sexual relationship w/ anyone, and i know that polyamory is often only seen as a sexual thing by a lot of the general public, so maybe that’s why i’ve seen so much stuff online saying that kids can’t be polyam as it’s inherently sexual (i don’t think it always is), or the classic ‘they’re too young to know’ but i just feel like they’re right sometimes, like, i haven’t had the experience and years and stuff that adults have had, and that makes me feel like an idiot for even wanting anything to do w/ this part of the community.
except… it’s like. when i think of being older and married or in a relationship, i always think of it being someone who’s not a man (i’m a nonbinary lesbian), but like, i also think of it as more than one person? like. i’d be happy w/ two wives i think. or a partner who has a partner, that i’m not dating, esp since i’m ace and not of course everyone else is and everyone has different needs wants in a relationship. and while these are obviously just thoughts, i’ve also put. like. a lot of thought into it, and the traditional relationship structure (monogamous man/woman) doesn’t really seem like something that work for me. like also bc i’m aro and i could have a qpr but i wouldn’t mind if it was w/ more than one person or if my partner had like a date or other qpr partner or like… you get the gist. not even ‘wouldn’t mind’ i think it’d be neat, like the traditional relationship structure just never felt like it was right for me.
idk, i’m sorry, this ask is so incoherent. i just. wanted to know if i could be teenage and polyam, or if there’s something wrong w/ me and my thinking for wanting to be so, like i honestly don’t know if there is, and it’s not great sometimes, wanting to use a label for yourself in your head and not knowing if you… can
TL;DR (and it will be long): you can be whatever you feel, at any stage of life, forever. So, yeah, it could be other things, but if that's how your feeling, it doesn't really matter if you change your mind later. You can be it now.
So here's the thing: you do have a lot going on. All teenagers do, and as much as adults condescend to teenagers about it, the only way to figure it out for you personally is for you --personally-- to stumble through it. And you're clearly a bit overwhelmed. That's chill and normal. As stressful as it is, try not to stress it; these are all things that will be okay once the dust has settled.
When I was a teen, I didn't want to touch anyone. I thought I was ace. I barely even wanted a romantic relationship. Now I want several high-sex romantic relationships. I changed in that. I haven't changed in other ways, such as not wanting kids. Everyone told me I'd want them eventually, and here I am as an established adult, happily childless.
If you think you're poly now, you're allowed to call yourself poly! If you wanna say you're "questioning poly" or "interested in exploring" poly that's fine, too, in the same way bi people sometimes go "I'm mean I'm pretty sure I'm bi because my gender people SO HOT but some days I'm not feeling it and I've never actually had gay sex soooo for now I'm just going to call myself bicurious". And a lot of people will probably tell you you're too young to know, but that's not going to change how you feel. Maybe you'll grow in a different direction. Maybe you'll have a 10 year headstart on happiness that everyone on poly forums wishes they had. Both of those things sound fine to me. Those are both 👌👍✅ outcomes.
You can also want all those things and not consider yourself poly. Maybe you're just meant to join a commune 🤷
The point of labels is for you to be able to describe your experience, not to define you. If you think "poly" is an adequate word to describe the experience of "ace but wanting to build my life with multiple close women" then go for it! You could also describe yourself as other things to other people. Like, if you're in a very queer environment like Tumblr, you might feel comfortable saying "I wanna be in a poly lesbian QPR!" but to conservative adults you might just stick to "I'm not looking to get married too quick, its just going to be me and my best girl friends for awhile!" and to someone who's trying to understand but really isn't getting it you might choose to describe it as "I'm trying to found-family-trope my life. Like, we're not sexual, but we're everything for each other, you know?"
So I guess to wrap this up back to you initial question: "poly" isn't inherently sexual, and you can use it to describe anything you think it applies to, yourself especially. However, it may carry that connotation with others, so it might be a lot of trouble (up to you whether its worth that trouble) to identify yourself as that to those people. In your own head? do whatever the fuck you want lmao I'm not the thought police🚫🚓
Use them terms -- "poly" included -- when they suit you. Be that the current mood, the current conversation, the current stage in life, whatever.

generally i think all vamps ever just don’t have any gender preference or anything because that’s. a human thing . and they’re not humans.. but still
spike: he def has some kind of . well. inferiority complex thing going on…. i mean….. cecily.. dru.. buffy.. all people he thinks are better than him (even if he doesn’t outwardly say it i mean. look at how he worships dru and then buffy and is so intimidated by cecily) and on the gay side we got angel which is the same thing except he tries not to let it get to him (perhaps bc he’s known him for so long too.. he got more pushed around as william still . and thus begins the Endless Arguments they have) but also we all saw what he rly thought in that s5 fight . at the same time when he’s shown compassion and understanding (anya) he seems to really be at peace with that.. idk i remember being like damn guys if u keep being nice to him we will just like . not be so fucked up . like taming a stray cat . it’s very interesting that spike is supposed to be the opposite of angel and Should just be into anything that moves but he’s very. not like that . he seems to develop crushes from a distance and it kinda consumes him lol??

ok so i just got back from seeing atsv and just oh my fucking god.

and yeah that’s all my thoughts on the movie that’s i can turn into words (final random ones that idk how to format: Gwen and Miles were like extra baby in this one esp Miles + ik he has a wife and all but Peter and Miguel r definitely doing smthn like the vibes r there u cant deny it + Gwen x Miles is one of those ships that i don’t rlly care whether they’re romantic or platonic but i prefer them platonic and unfortunately the writers don’t seem to agree with me (kinda like Jopper except Jopper kinda grew on my entirely because of Willel being siblings bring extra extra canon) + not related to the contents of the film but there were these group of rlly annoying Neds sitting behind me and my friend who wouldn’t stop talking and going on their phones and i only heard one but according to my friend 2 ppl yelled at them to shut up and i heard them stop for like 2 seconds then start being bitches again it was so fucking annoying) and yeah damn that was a kinds long final thoughts thingy but yeah will this become my entire personality? idk we’ll have to see now if u’ll excuse me i gotta remember how to be a normal human again (hope this wasn’t too long lmao) :p

i mean at first, i thought miguel was comical very comical for having beef with miles, who is half his age!!!! yeah after i got out the theater, i wanted to beat his ass 😡😡😡 but then i could kinda see his attractive still not an excuse, i’d still fight him on sight

okay so i’m going into this event basically being sus of everyone at this point LMAO, i don’t even trust our boys tbh - anything could happen and i’m excited! everytime there’s a big event i always am like “ugh… not another one i have to drain energy into and it isn’t even that interesting” (respectfully). like the last one on the train? i didn’t really care much about it, the only things that interested me were nxx being all up on eachother (exaggerating)
basically i prepare myself to be disappointed, which might sound messed up but tbh the events have only been hittin recently (for me) because of the fact that they’re not having nxx be at eachother’s throats lol. (not saying the past ones weren’t good though and that none of the recent ones were a miss bc again, i didnt fully enjoy the train event)
this one already had me though 😭 got me gagged, the ui is so fucking cool - the card system?? the OUTFITS make me wanna CHOMP my phone (esp luke’s… smth- smth abt it is just. hm, delectable). also baby davis always appearing is so cute his little “hello, miss… uh, i mean, little boss!” LMAO that is my son!!!
ANYGAYS we always have to start off with Marius talking about something going on ‘round town, intended to invite his lovely lady but of course the boys have to interrupt and say hey, where is our invitation??? 🤗 you love to see it

Rengoku x Uzui (like a Lot this is probably my otp of this show. however uzui’s wives are included. its like a separate spoke poly to me? uzui x his wives are one half and the wives are all into each other then uzui x rengoku is the other half and rengoku and uzui’s wives all care about each other in a more platonic way lol. basically a healthy poly thing in my mind)
Tanjiro & Zenitsu & Inosuke (in a platonic way!!! those are my sons don’t separate them or i’ll sob!!!!!!)
Giyuu x Shinobu (i like how she teases him and even if she is disdained by his awkwardness sometimes i think she can really understand where he’s coming from and understand him even when he’s just kinda like :| yknow)

Rengoku x Akaza -> i hate akaza so fucking much i am strangling every post i see with him and this ship with my bare hands. I Do Not Care about akaza’s boohoo sad backstory i am killing him and not in the teehee way i mean every time i see him i become Enraged <3. muzan may be the antagonist of demon slayer but i want to see akaza’s death animated in Great Detail.
haven’t seen anything about uzui that’s made me squick cuz most people ship him with either his wives or with rengoku lmao
Tanjiro x Kanao -> even though they are canon i’m just not super into her character ig? like she and tanjiro don’t seem like couple material to me. he doesn’t really treat her any differently than any other person he interacts with (imo) and i would argue he shows more care and interest and love towards zenitsu and inosuke than kanao specifically. aside from the standard anime “girl pretty” energy which like. all anime does that so it’s not even a measure of attraction to me anymore (being a long time anime fan). don’t get me wrong i don’t hate her as a character but as a couple they just seem so… boring. esp of the main three canon couples. like inosuke and aoi i can see and i don’t mind, zenitsu and nezuko are a given but… kanao just isn’t a good match for my boy ig (to me) 💀💀
Zenitsu and Inosuke only really get shipped with Nezuko/Tanjiro (solo) respectively and i don’t dislike those. i just like the three of them together at all costs so ig i don’t like the idea of tanjiro and inosuke dating and zenitsu kinda being on the side if i HAD to be nitpicky about it. like the three of them are a unit. do not separate.
Giyuu x Sanemi -> sorry i just don’t like sanemi 💀💀💀
Shinobu x Mitsuri -> i LOVE mitsuri to death. but i hate when fandoms ship two femme characters just because they could be a lesbian couple and for no other reason aside from that. like i get Why because lesbian candidates in anime is fleeting esp in shonen bc of a lack of femme characters in general so like. i understand that but maybe just cuz im not a lesbian idc that much. it’s similar to how i feel about tanjiro/kanao i just don’t think mitsuri has put any special emphasis on her relationship with shinobu. like she looks up to her definitely. but like mitsuri loves everyone. and i feel like shinobu would do better with someone she wouldn’t feel pressured to be Only the happy side of herself with and i feel like once she broke down that barrier she would be able to be more herself around giyuu than around mitsuri.
also this isn’t mentioned in my main ships but i don’t like Mitsuri and Obanai as a couple. idc if they’re canon i don’t like him he’s annoying asf he is not good enough for my girl.
17. What's a ship for this character you don't hate but it's not your favorite that you're fine with?
Rengoku x Giyuu i’ve seen around and i’m okay with it. i love both of these two to death (#tanjiro’solderbrothers) and so them together makes me very soft. i think it would be super rough for giyuu just because i don’t think he’d think he was Good Enough for rengoku which is why i don’t ship it too heavily but like i love them both so i’m never mad when i see it.
Giyuu x Sabito i don’t really ship but like obviously i get why people do and it makes my heart hurt despite not shipping it like that </3
Tanjiro x Genya or Tanjiro x Muichiro are two things i don’t mind seeing. i don’t really ship them bc like. tanjiro is my son and it’s kinda weird for me to think about him romantically l m a o? and muichiro is even younger than him lol. in the case of genya i totally get it but again it’s more just “hmm yes that’s his best friend” like i immediately in my mind view it platonically vs romantically.

So, ron and harry, do you ship it? Well I'm a freakin huge prongsfoot fan and new here on Tumblr but I'm also a huge fan of ron and harry and I've seen how ppl here don't like ron, so what's your opinion on Ronarry?

as for ronarry, well. i’m not opposed to it on principle. friends-to-lovers is one of my fav tropes and it hits all the right notes in theory. but, most of the time, i need some major changes to be made to ron’s character before i can stand it lol i’m not a huge fan of the dude post-poa and often think harry deserves better BUT at the same time, i’ve read some absolutely wonderful characterisation of him (esp post war fics) and i can def see it happening.
that being said, i think i’ve only really read one ron/harry fic that i can remember and it was them in like. their late 40s or something and really quite beautiful.
(now. poly!trio? yum. love it. a+. so fucking good across all ages and eras)

-I was literally talking to a pal recently how Billy and Randy would have good movie chats but also Billy would be bitchy and obstinate and make fake arguments just to disagree. If we're in an AU where Billy is chill enough for any of this tho thats probably flirting. But oh yeah, the movie quotes would be a second language for the three of them.
-Lmao yeah, a poly/ambi Billy would be like 'these are my bitches' 😈 and Stu, who I already hc as ambiamorous would just be telling everyone that he gets to have threesomes on the reg while also having the most tender gay thought about his bfs.
-I have never and will NEVER say that Randy doesn't have that rizz

How is the polycule looking these days? I’m poly and dating lots of people some of which I live with too and I always love to see other people living the life. I hope you’re all doing well!!!

So I'm not sure when I would have last talked about my polycule so I'll just introduce them from the top.
Atm I live with two partners (one of whom is plural so in practice way more!) and I have two "external partners". The partners I live with are married, but otherwise none of my partners are currently dating anyone else, so in that sense I'm the ~glue~ of the polycule atm. Or maybe I'm just a hoe 😘😏 Aside from these guys, we got some honorary members who are "only" friends (whatever the hell that means), who are also important members of my found family.
I've used the original animal designations from our old @welcome-to-the-petting-zoo podcast.
Quinn (Cat) is all of me (Glitch).
Dae (Hound) refers to the collective formerly referred to as Fox and Trashpanda. Hound and I are engaged. These days I am more or less dating all of Hound. They are doing well. He's been taking T for about a year and he's doing pretty good, he got approved for disability pension which has given some much needed space to heal by doing his own shit. He spends a lot of time zooming up and down the countryside on his scooter 'Lucky', tattooing himself and others, and doing insanely creative awesome crafts and art projects. Hound still struggles with amnesia, and he's still a fundamentally plural person, but the strong dissociative+amnesiac barriers between system members have loosened up, making for a more integrated, yet more plural self-experience. These days a lot of his day to day difficulties come down to physical pain and exhaustion. We are currently also working towards getting him citizenship!
Moose who is legally married to Hound, and who lives with me and Hound, recently finished his education as an embedded software engineer (with a focus on robots!). He's looking for a job atm and even though that process is stressful, he's still doing a lot better from being done with uni, which was frankly a very stressful environment. So he's having a total glow-up 💕
Bear finished their education in psychology a while before me and struggled to find employment, esp. because they weren't necessarily able to work full-time - they recently got approved for "flex-job" which means they can have a 10-20 h job and get paid as if working full-time on that job. They juuuust found employment from next week, so three cheers for Bear!! 🥳🥳🥳
Bat (@the-life-of-bat )has become sooo strong since we managed to get her gender affirming surgery about ... three years ago?! Time sure flies. Like yeah, girl is still traumatized and disabled/mentally ill and whatnot. But her resilience grows by the day, and she is often found hyperfocusing on a most recent project and pulling off insane feats! Also, she's a weeb now. AND I'm old enough not to cringe at someone's genuine joy. Be proud of me! 💪🌈
Lynx and Kat are both close friends/part of the family. I don't know how Lynx feels about me discussing her situation so I won't go into detail, and much more info on Kat can be found over at her blog @compassionatereminders (or check out @2000sgirly where she is currently having a joyful fixation on early 2000s girly pop culture! Even if it's not your thing, her enthusiasm is contagious. )
Overall, we are good. There's hardships to be dealt with, and there probably always will be. Hound's mum is in the process of dying from a fairly aggressive degenerative illness, the immigration laws and psychiatric gatekeeping are tripping people up, I'm struggling to find my place on the "job market", disability and chronic illness will always be a part of all of our lives. But there's also a lot of joy and love and good tidings. And many things that slowly improve and expand and heal and grow.
I'm happy to have so much love in my life, and I'm proud of my little family of delightful freaks and misfits.

We wear matching gold bands <33 his on his chain bc he doesn’t wanna wreck or damage it at work 🥹 the reaction from my family too was very much expected. They got used to Ken being around bc I started bringing him to family functions the moment we started dating. They didn’t like him at first, but by the time marriage was purposed and they saw how he treated me they were thrilled to bring him into the family <33
Souf: omg yes, and he plans a big proposal with my mom n sister fr. It’s flashy and extravagant and the ring was his grandmothers, nothing but Portuguese gold <33 my family is so excited to have him apart of the family bc of our upbringings. He gets my culture and can actually communicate with my loved ones. He’s loud n rambunctious and gets along with my avo’s <33 despite the big proposal with my family hiding in the bushes taking a million pictures, at the lil party we have after he pulls me aside so we can have a private dance on the beach (yes I picture him asking me to marry him at a beach or on vacation) as we’re swaying he’d bring my hand ti his lips and kiss the ring. “I’m so happy you’re all mine, Gata.”
Barou: oh my Shoei… 😭 listen, the first time I brought up marriage he was white in the face. Life got sucked outta him for a moment even though I was playing. He wants to get married, but he’s so committed to his career he thinks that he won’t make a great husband. My family unfortunately, thinks that way too. Despite his success they think he’s too harsh, not devoted enough. But, I don’t care. My family has always been… a lil absent at times esp when it comes to seeing what’s really good for me and Shoei acknowledges that and reminds me of it when he’s holding me close after we’ve had a really long talk about marriage. “Don’t let them stop you from doing what you know you want to do. I’ll marry you— if you let me.”
Kuroo (n bokuto 🫣): EEEEEEEE KUROO MY BELOVED <333 tbh, kuroo and I were talking about marriage our first week of dating 💀 we were super lovesick for one another right off the bat and we were that couple in collage calling each other “hubbie” and “wifey” 💀 as we got older tne love was still there but it wasn’t as.. honeymoon-y :’)) here’s the kicker though. Bokuto joined our relationship before we got married, and here in Canada (in a lot of countries to I believe) plural marriages are not legal. Poly couples… well. They aren’t normalized in society, despite how valid they are yknow?? And my family is insanely old school. So, when we did told them the three of us were dating, let alone wanting to be married, it wasn’t pretty. It caused a big riff. Methinks my parents wouldn’t come to whatever wedding/ceremony we’d have for the three of us but that’s okai, my boys n I had a wonderfully magical night with the people who care <33
