as for ronarry, well. i’m not opposed to it on principle. friends-to-lovers is one of my fav tropes and it hits all the right notes in theory. but, most of the time, i need some major changes to be made to ron’s character before i can stand it lol i’m not a huge fan of the dude post-poa and often think harry deserves better BUT at the same time, i’ve read some absolutely wonderful characterisation of him (esp post war fics) and i can def see it happening.
that being said, i think i’ve only really read one ron/harry fic that i can remember and it was them in like. their late 40s or something and really quite beautiful.
(now. poly!trio? yum. love it. a+. so fucking good across all ages and eras)

like don't get me wrong on this. i joke abt wines moms and stuff but i dont genuinely mean it in the way of wahh wow littol family for reals kinda deal?
less on wines 'adopting' paprika, moreso paprika imprinting on them like a duckling after she was saved by them. paprika adopted them lmao. i cannot possibly interpret either w or ines as Maternal in such a way.
it's moreso that i think it's nice that this little sarkaz merc became part of the story, a girl who all her life since she was infected at a young age, was presented with becoming a mercenary being basically the only option for her.
and then, as annoying as w can be, being shown that she does have different options.
i just think it's sweet that paprika, judging by her voicelines, clearly looks up to w and ines. which is just amplified by the fact that w and ines are notoriously not the most popular people on rhodes lol. and she calls w annoying but still keeps knitting stuff and wanting to gift food to her. like if she often seeks out w and ines to tell them how well she did on something, when they are on the ship, etc. that'd at least indicate that those two humor her.

cool yeah obviously i fucking love them. i'm not very good at words though and i tend to keep my more elaborate thoughts to just discussions between friends who know how i tick djsfhdfs
just the other day i was smiling to myself during a walk bc holy shit all three are actually playable now and that's not just wishful thinking anymore. anyway chapter 13 also happened and more stuff with the trio happened and Cool Lots of things Happening and my brain is full
they're so found family to me, like in an utterly unconventional way. i mean c'mon with how they act sometimes like- ykno. but like have y'all seen the new furniture set and descriptions that came with hoederer's release it made me go insanse.
but i think especially in ines' case it just kinda highlights that best. considering ines' arts can figure people out (putting that in rather vague terms), it truly means something when someone with her capabilities and temperament has people she chooses to stick by and actually trust. even if she pretends she doesn't by verbally denying it.
like waugh Okay they have a lot to unpack and shit but with them being reunited (take that, W file that said W needs companionship but her friends aren't around anymore) and having a COMPARATIVELY more ""relaxed"" life than before (that one Hoederer file where he just has rather regular days on rhodes), it's just nice to imagine they can finally have something better and figure stuff out. as complicated as the three of them are.
with that said i think it's a given that i despise a nuclear family treatment of the three (aka mom ines, dad hoederer, daughter w).
for one with me being highly doubtful w was a kid/teen at the start of darknights (young? sure, but not that young), which just seems like such a...widespread belief that i really do not get? arknights always put a LOT of emphasis on when a character's story was about them being a kid, 0 of that with w. like something about her expression and big cloak just gave people some different impression, even though she literally keeps looking the same aside from a change of clothes.
only instance of w being called a kid during that time i can think of is that one boiler worker in her files but that seems way more like any typical old guy calling anyone on the younger side a kid. hell, even hoederer was called young in darknights, like in a sarkaz's lifespan i can believe that.
and also...hoederer had somewhat of a mentor-like role for w, but if anyone tries to tell me ines ever acted maternal towards w i will chew through your walls. read through darknights memoir and actually pay attention to ines, both w AND ines were pettyass women and they made that so very clear. cannot fathom how anyone can see ines as having been motherly towards w
seriously just feels like a case of Well there is man and there is woman....and this other character so clearly these are mom, dad and kid.
that's not even me being biased towards w/ines, just how i objectively see it. hell, i even ENJOY ines/hoederer, but my enjoyment of it is limited bc for some reason ppl like to make it weird by shoving w in as some daughter. i promise it's completely possible to like ines/hoederer without trying to fit in w as a kid figure
anyways yeah like cool i like these characters I Guess. Look at them

ok so bassically grew up in a cult. their bg is effed up akjsdjagh at a young age, like 7 or 8, they were kidnapped by the leader (i need to come up with a good design for her but she's a creepy woman) of a extremist religious cullt. kisshoten would eventually see this woman as their mother and the cult as their home.
their "mother" raised them to one day be leader of the cult
they grew up around lots of death and blood and gore, sacrificing animals (behind the scenes kisshoten's mother would sacrifice other cult members.) however, was a decent mother despite the murder and brainwashing and isolating kisshoten from the outside world and ok never mind aksfghsfj but
its worth noting that kisshoten themselves never actually killed any human themselves. they also didnt know about the human sacrifices until they turned abt 15. they were horrified to find their mother killing a fellow cult member, but their mother was able to manipulate kisshoten into calming down and staying quiet.
that was the last time they talked about it. from then, kisshoten questioned the cult and feared their mother but ultimately was too afraid to ever try to defy her.
eventually, when kisshoten turned 17, their mother became fatally ill and was told that they would take her place as the leader very soon. but before their mother was to die, they were instructed to do one thing.
basically, kisshoten's mother told them to sacrifice her before she died from her illness. unfortunately, they were manipulated and pressured into complying; they thought they had no other choice.
so kisshoten killed their "mother".
and as this was happening, it just so turns out that the cult was found by the authorities and was disbanded. kisshoten was found over their mother's lifeless body.
hopes peak
so after kisshoten left the cult, their life consisted of lot of doctor visits and therapy (they weren't convicted for their mother's death because i mean ykno they were essensially brainwashed)
during that time, they were sought out by hopes peak as, guess what, the ultimate cult leader (if maki can be the ultimate assassin, then there can be an ultimate cult leader ajhsdghas) kisshoten had no desire to go to hopes peak, however, wanting to move on from their trauma but, with no one to turn to and no where else to go, they accept.
at hopes peak, they dont talk to anyone, really. they keep their talent a secret and overall, they're a complete outcast. until one day they meet a very strange individual
idk if anyone's reading this far ive talked too much lmk if u wanna know what this person's deal is akhfjghaj

anyway woe. tfw youre just trying t navigate being alive after experiencing ego death and everyone keeps trying to yank you in different directions and shape you into something else entirely when you can barely hold a shape on your own so you simply decide to become nothing at all. sad ! oh well, theres other uh. uhhhhh.. hm.
this is kind of th Worst of what can come of cocoa and luci's whatever-the-hell. luci is completely convinced she understands cocoa's character and actively pushes the worst parts of them forward in the name of some sort of "self actualization," in response to their complete and total shutting off at. just about everything.
unfortunately, she completely misreads what exactly that manifests As due to her preoccupation with her Own self actualization-- and instead of drawing forth any buried emotion or desire, all it really does is kinda... shut them down completely. their desire wasnt to lash out at anything, it was simply to get things to stop. and stop they did. theyre not much of anything anymore.
nobody is happy with this.

HIM.
hes really important to everything bc hes kind of. a catalyst, in a way, to The Bullshit. the issue is i know most of the What, its just the How and Why thats such an issue. also unfortunately, i started writing him before i started watching thru limbus, but once i did i realized hes kinda just like sinclair but to the left a little bit which. head in hands. Unfortunate;
so its once again a balancing act of getting things together while tying threads and also Avoiding Making Character 2. which is Hard bc this is just!!!! what hes like!!! iknow i probably shouldnt worry abt it too much but this is like the fourth or fifth time ive accidentally just made Character But Again and i just. GRABS. SHAKES. UGH

Since I rarely draw anything fullbody I decided to present yall with: Leg
Notes under the cut
Lassi: Soft, fine feathers, accompanied by furlike covering on the underlayer (he got this from Mrs. Varpunen who was covered in sorta pseudo-fur). He's very well groomed, although his plumage has gotten a tad flat and thin due to him wearing pants frequently. Though they are sharp, his talons wear down on the floors of the Pride district, and if they were to get long he'd clip them. The patches of thicker, rougher skin on the front of his legs was inherited from Mr. Varpunen, which is why you'll see the same on Siru, who also got it from him. Otherwise his skin is rather smooth and soft (comparatively..) due to his sheltered environment and pampered lifestyle, though the bottoms of his feet still bear some reminders of his time on the streets, and thus his skin is prone to cracking or getting sensitive in more wilderness based environments. He has a bit less "Raptor swag" due to Mr Varpunen, who ofc comes from a line of sparrows. You'll notice his tail is the odd one out of his family. It's covered in leathery black skin and the tuft at the end is hair/fur, instead of feathers. You'll also see him wearing the rings Delilah gave him, some of which serve to strengthen his spells and some to keep track of where he is.
Siru: Mf talons!!! Her legs are longer and curve a bit more dramatically, and she's good at grabbing stuff w her feets. She has rather intimidating stompers, and keeps her talons quite long. Not on purpose necessarily, but she just does. She lets her feathers kinda do whatever, although she does brush them over and pluck occasionally if they get too unruly. They are sorta naturally smooth though, something she got from Mr Varpunen who notoriously had pretty, shiny plumage. Her leg skin is a bit more roughed up due to her active lifestyle but unlike with Lassi, it's strengthened her skin, since she's also been in good health and had the chance to recover. Though with black plumage, the skin on her legs is actually dark purple due to The Horrors™ that happened around the time she was a chickling. Lassi has this purple manifest in his eye color. Siru actually has the longest tail but it doesn't show here bc of how I drew it..
Nan: More scruffy, unruly feathers, not completely due to her active lifestyle but.. Ykno how old cats' fur starts looking a little scrunkly? Yeah. Hers are also fairly long and fluffy, she doesn't trim them very often, and likes it that way. It's warm. She doesn't have that patch of thicker skin on her legs. Stretch marks on the belly and hips due to pregnancy and old age. Her tail is very fluffy and ruffled, some of her tail tip feathers got torn off during The Horrors™ and never grew in quite right. She also has a slash on her tail from this. Her feathers have started greying here and there; you wouldn't notice her age on her actual head hair due to the fact that it's always been grey. Though, as she gets even older, it'll likely turn white, but that's still a bit of a way ahead. The skin on her legs is dark/blackish grey, darker than the skin on her body, but lighter than her feathers.

I was the Galarian Champion for a few years, but I didn't.. really enjoy it so I resigned. I still go and participate in the occasional tournament but I'm busy with school. Speaking of school! I currently attend the Uva Academy in their Dragon-Type course. I intend on rehabilitating dragon-types as a job once I'm done :)
I'm also a champion-ranked trainer in Paldea, and I currently work with environment and ecosystem research with the Great Crater! It's a lotta fun!

She's also banned in Galar (for obvious reasons) and I really hate leaving her behind in Paldea.

Ayinn is another member of my original champion team in Galar. Also in my opinion the most beautiful Milotic ever. Ayinn was my mother's before she passed him to me after I beat Kabu's gym.
He's also a shiny!! His scales are some of the prettiest milotic scales I've seen, so Ayinn takes a lot of pride in them, and I try to help keep those scales healthy

Hano!! I met them near the Poco Path lighthouse. We're really close and Hano actually acts as my service 'mon. I lost my leg in an accident and Hano now helps me get around if I'm not wearing my prosthetic that day (or if it hurts too much to walk, ykno?).
They don't like battling, and I won't ever force them to. Not after everything they were subjected to, Hano deserves better than that.

alright, finished osnf ep 9 here we go.
i am taking this so so seriously. (RIP the Helper and RIP Felps. he came he welcomed-to-santo-berco'd he ate buttery butter and he died. thank you for your service to the plot o7)
in any case, that sure was. that sure was something huh. first of all yippee the horrors are back!! kind of? there are horrific monsters and people lost sanity points and someone got knocked out so!! it counts.
there is definitely Something Up with this village though because well. OBVIOUSLY. the people here aren't completely human anymore and everyone is too nice and the food is too good and there's a weird-ass endless maze in the center that spits you out when you get bored. oh yeah and the village is actually alive(????) and has a very strict no smoking policy.
i guess where im being thrown is the double-whammy of the sudden genre/setting change and the way that this feels like it comes completely out of left field? i was actually so excited to see if Liz's time-wormhole-portal-whatever theory was correct because there was a SHITLOAD of evidence pointing towards time shenanigans, and i had actually been hoping it was correct because i love those kinds of time travel stories, where everything is actually part of one big loop. (though i suppose that would be pretty hard to nail in ttrpg since those kinds of stories require very delicate planning, and the whole point of ttrpg is the freedom it allows the players/characters. doomed-from-the-start stories wouldn't operate well in ttrpg huh. idk im not a GM nor have i played/watched much ttrpg but i imagine it can't be easy. ANYWAY.) instead we get to the cave and suddenly we're in a magical medieval village with overly friendly grey elves and massive cows with tiny heads and crystals that can heal grievous injuries in seconds?? it's kinda throwing me because i hop into an ordem paranormal VOD expecting urban horror-fantasy and now im just getting what feels like fantasy with the horror thrown on top of it.
of course, i dont wanna get that neg with this. i trust cellbit and his writing, and like i said, there's DEFINITELY more going on here. im not about to stop watching this series because im thrown off, but im kinda :T atm ykno. but again, trust!! i'll hopefully watch more tomorrow. im just not a big fan of massive setting/genre switches like these ones. i probably just need more time to get settled in.
there were still good moments in this episode!!! i like all of the townspeople (though if i am highly suspicious of them; even if they're not being intentionally malicious they might be complicit in something / causing harm and not realize it), and cellbit getting SOOOO excited when Thiago flicked his lighter and the mist descended and the horrors returned (him and me both). plus him grabbing every die he owns to roll for the Blacksmith (who is a fucking TANK holy shit he's so fucking strong what the hell) and to fuck with i think Rakin at some point? might've been Guaxi. oh and also
POV: your dumbass mentee keeps eating the probably-cursed food in the probably-cursed village and is probably about to get his ass persephone'd
anyway that is all for now. tl;dr - i am still enjoying most of this and ofc im gonna keep watching im just very ?????? rn, but i trust the process. gn <3
edit: FUCK I FORGOT TO MENTION---current theory is that the blond woman who was last seen with Team Kelvin was the pilgrim who brought them to Santo Berco. and they had gone with her bc they figured out that she could lead them exactly where they needed to go. yeah ok gn fr.

so, if logia were to raise gran in any timeline they'd be more likely to consider them a parent (even if theyd have some kind of crisis about it, because theyre not looking to replace anyone). but logia is also the one they're the most likely to not feel as uncomfortable with, even if they ultimately dont want them to have that role in their current timeline <-completely building of the possibility of gran, somewhat, strangely, feeling like logia is familiar + rmbring the initial dream they had. (also the idea of the and you timeline being somewhat more at peace than like the main story one makes me raaughhhhh even tho its uh. directly there on the anni page. but ykno

so i have a problem….
for a long time i’ve been able to create characters out of pretty much nothing, from a picture or a simple reading alone. of course, i don’t go any further than setting up their physical appearance and completely forgetting about them in just a few hours, but the rare times i don’t forget about them, i try to make an entire character out them and make them feel real.
so far i’ve been able to do this with one character that i’ve been working on and building her up for years and she’s technically my only oc, but everytime i start to come up with a new character from this new place and these new things that aren’t related to her or her story, i’m afraid that they as a character is not going to be as fleshed out or as interesting as she is. i don’t have any backstory ideas for any other characters and i don’t hers to outshine everyone else’s.
can i fix this? if so, how?

While I can't exactly pinpoint what might be the core issue I can see what you're struggling with and I do have advice for it. And I'm sorry if this response comes too late but I figure this is something many artists can struggle with.
If I've understood correctly it's not due to a lack of inspiration, yes? Since you said you've been able to make ocs out of very small prompts or ideas (if the issue is lack of inspiration though, my biggest piece of advice is to simply seek out more, and new inspiration! The mind can stagnate and freshening up helps. Get new medias and look into what inspires others, get new life experiences and possibly dip your toes into other hobbies? It doesn't have to be major, anything to shake it up in there!)
Seems to have to do with attachment, generally speaking. While there's nothing wrong with wanting to focus on just one story/character, it'll become sucky if you, well don't want that. From my perspective, I think you just need to give new characters time to grow into themselves. I know that may sound odd but I'll elaborate. Sometimes when you make a new character you'll fall in love with them immediately and run off to do shenanigans with them. Sometimes, you make a character and, they just exist now. You may dislike something about them or be unsatisfied with them, or just not..~Feel~ for them, ykno? Or maybe none of those things apply. Maybe the character is just fine. So my first piece of advice is to let them grow. I recommend specifically taking a moment, or few, to focus on this new character Only. It may be hard but I do really recommend it. It can be just short moments like drawing them once, or a few times more, or listening to music and trying to pick out songs you think would vibe with this character, and really get imagining, ykno? At these beginning stages you can really have many "Ooh what if-" moments in developing a character! It's fun! Just find your preferred way of Getting Into™ a character
If you can't bring yourself to give them the spotlight now, worry not. Let them exist for a bit, but make sure that you have them somewhere you won't forget! Maybe write a synopsis of them somewhere or draw them, whatever helps. And let them simmer. You can totally come back to a character later to add more to them, or even revamp them completely! They are dough at your hands. Some dough needs more kneading and some needs to rest and rise, you feel? I actually had a story that took at least one year of existing for me to really get cozy and up close with it. I wasn't disinterested before, it just needed time to grow and I needed time to get more familiar with it, and it's characters. Consider the fact that you may just be rusty. And that's okay! If you haven't created something entirely new in a while, that happens. Push on, even if it's clumsy at first, bc you will get there! Just let yourself get back into the groove of making new stuff again.
My other advice is to make them interesting to you. "Well duh?", but what I mean is that if you're not vibing with the character you have now, make them something you'd vibe with. Literally you can make them into whatever! They don't necessarily need to be relatable to you for you to want to explore them, but if it helps to add a bit of yourself into the character then do that! Lame backstory? Spice it up! Flat personality? Scrungle it a bit. Boring design? Go wack. You get my point. Make them into something you'd be interested in working with.
Something that helps for me personally, is also, sharing them! If I get to talk about and really get into some character while explaining it to someone else that can easily put me in the mindset of thinking about and getting more fond of the character. You can also totally ask for advice, input, reviews or opinions from other people! Or just share the new character.
Summary:
1. Give em time. And a bit of love and care
2. Make it fun and interesting for yourself!
3. The rubber ducky method (I volunteer if you want to come share your new ocs here!)
And: Sometimes a character won't take off. You can't bring yourself to get invested in them or add them anywhere. That's okay. You can just dump them and start over. It's your story and your character and you decide what goes

Someone knocked on the door, cutting off whatever he was going to say, dragging both their attention to the door. Cub cleared his throat, fist covering his mouth, when the two pair of eyes landed on him, glancing at the side.
“Cub!” Scar greeted.
“Hello.”
“Well, c’min, don’t just stand there,” Scar gestured to him.
Cub opened and closed his mouth. “Um, right.”
He approached the desk just as Bdubs stood up and grabbed half the pile of paperwork. He let out a big sigh, turning his head to the both of them, lips pursed.
“Just confirming,” he pointed at Cub and then Scar, struggling to hold the pile of paper in his arms, “this is completely platonic.”
Scar groaned, sensing his leg bouncing faster now. “Yes, Bdubs, this is platonic.”
It was silent for a moment, making Scar look up to his mayoral assistant. Bdubs frowned and huffed.
“Fine. Have a good evening.”
He slammed the door shut behind him, Scar cringing at the loud and sudden noise. He turned his gaze to Cub, who stood there, face neutral. He adjusted his glasses and sent a raised eyebrow in question.
Scar chuckled nervously, itching to pet Jellie if only she was here, leg still bouncing.
“Uh,” he started eloquently.
“Why did Bdubs ask that?” Cub’s position was still, only moved to face Scar.
“Well,” Scar dragged in order to properly think about his next words. “You know how people often date or get married to look mature?”
At Cub’s silence, Scar took this as a “no ”.
“HEP wants me to be in a relationship. A romantic one,” Scar frowned at the word, not even sure himself what that entailed.
Cub looked at the door and back at Scar. “Bdubs is pushing you to be in such relationship,” he concluded.
Scar intertwined his fingers together, eyes glued at the paperwork in front of him. He wondered if he should admit to Cub what the press thought about the whole ordeal. Was it better to keep his friend in the shadows or for him to be mortified?
Scar glanced at his friend. Cub haven’t moved, and Scar realized since when did he hide things from Cub? Especially if it concerned him?
“Yeah. The press thinks we’re a couple, so every time they see me with anyone else than you, they often call me a cheater, which,” Scar winced, twirling a pen in his hand, “has tainted a bad image about me.”
Cub hummed, fidgeting with the edge of his dress shirt.
“That’s quite unfortunate,” he murmured.
Scar groaned. “I know! ” He ran his fingers through his hair and picked the pen back. “I just don’t understand why people care about that.”
(Oop, it seems convex fans might've influenced me a lot. Accidentally made them the fake dating couple instead of my original, kinda why I don't really like what I wrote to end the scene. Just been struggling with a lot of writer's block, so, I'm just glad I manage to write this)

ykno thinking about how i think the fionna and cake ending wound up being shitty inspiration porn is interesting because the creators in interviews seem very insistent on each episode being the baby of one board team, with pretty limited amounts of communication between teams. i think that absolutely set things up for failure in this regard. Because you can tell there is a specific voice in the setup eps, you can tell the ppl whose eps those were went HARD on simon and fionna, depicting them deep in the throes of depression and dysfunction. "everytime i leave my room i wanna die, even when im with my friends im alone inside" is unironically a very raw lyric that demands more focus than what they wind up giving fionna. its possible things were so deep in production that the character choices of ep 1-2 that came about organically and not baked into the outline just didn't get integrated into the rest of the eps except in broad, general strokes rather than that white-hot pinpointed directness. not to mention, if you don't have experience with these mental health issues, the writers who handled the last eps may just not be equipped to give the subject material the complexity and gravity it deserves. You cant write what you cant know, and ep 1-2 glowed with a genuineness and hard honesty that slowly drains away until about ep 8 where its completely absent.
i genuinely think the creators weren't prepared to fully unpack the depth of the topics they touched on in ep 1-2 so they just walked back the severity of the mental health issues at play. fionna doesnt REALLY wanna die every time she leaves her room, and she loves her friends!! :3 rember that mental health is no match for Lifestyle Change. at least thats what my therapist told me and im sure my neurotypical experience can translate to that of the suicidally depressed, right?
Board driven vs script driven shows can create this interesting problem where one team can literally be so good that they overshadow the rest of the work and create audience expectations that will inevitably be shattered. Id say a lot of western animation is actually propped up by these high water marks, at least in terms of fandom hype cycles. shows disguise individual contributions but at the end of the day if someone on the team has the sauce u cant fake it or buy it, you can only integrate it into the show and hope the audience doesnt notice the varying quality too much. That being said if you are touching on issues of suicidal ideation and executive dysfunction, you need more cohesion, you need that voice from the start, the one that really took simon and fionnas issues seriously and empathetically, you need that deft touch all the way to the end if youre going to start off with establishing your lead as passively suicidal. it's sad that the first episodes had this feeling that whoever was writing them was writing from a personal place, and then that soul is replaced in later eps with this much more moralistic, didactic narrative style that yanks out all that empathy and groundedness and paints a big fat corporate happy face on it.

i get ur post about thinking too fast for words So So fucking much!! it’s like everything makes complete sense in my head and the way i connect trains of thought and jump between them is so smooth and fast. but as soon as i try to articulate it in words i can’t connect them in any meaningful way and it’s so fucking frustrating! and the time i spend trying to put them together as words slows me down and pulls my focus away from the train of thought so by the time my words have managed to capture my thoughts i’ve lost the train of thought and i’ve lost the point i was coming to so i just stop. and i jhave also been almost brought to tears by this so like. ur not alone.
and the other thing that makes me feel like an asshole is when you explain something to someone, but maybe it’s in a way that they don’t get. and it’s hard for me to reframe or rephrase it in a way that both has the meaning i want to get across, and that they will understand? and when i tried explaining this to a friend she’s like “oh you think you’re too smart for people?” and i’m like no it’s not an intelligence thing, it just feels like a communication barrier that neither of us can get through . and if i change the way i say it too much then the meaning changes and it doesn’t matter if they understand because they’re understanding a different point? idk man.

When and Why did you begin to Ship Prongsfoot?
my memory is trash so i’m not sure i can give a ~precise answer but here’s what i can say with complete confidence.
i’ve always, always considered james and sirius to be soulmates.
i’ve been writing fic since 2017 and even as far back as then, the one thing i cared about was the bond these two share. i was absolutely in love with their dynamic and had a whole series called ‘Behind The Scenes’ which was just the most random stuff centred around these two. i think, even before harry & sirius, i fell in love with these two idiots.
when it comes to prongsfoot, specifically in a romantic/qpp context, i think that was a bit later. i don’t really care for romance, as much as i do read it. i shifted to this bc i ran out of all friendship fics and needed more stuff where they were each other’s no. 1. i was also, admittedly, spoiled by daily chan’s works where have the most amazing friendship. which is how i discovered prongsfoot and basically just never left.
What makes you Ship it?

fiction, for me, is a form of extreme escapism. i read so i don’t have to think about real life. i read so i can discover new possibilities and universes. it’s why i’ve read the weirdest, most interesting selection of fics hp has to offer (and if you’ve truly taken a deep dive into the fandom, u know what that’s like)
in that context, prongsfoot is literally the single most comforting dynamic i’ve ever seen.
they embody everything i love in theory but wouldn’t be able to stomach if it happened to me. their ride-or-die closeness, the emotional & physical intimacy, being two halves of the same mind, body, soul—it’s just so, so beautiful. like the stuff of legends.
i love how the two of them complete each other. they’re both privileged, smug bastards but they’ve got these little nooks and crannies that’s filled by the other, effortlessly. i love how out of everyone’s league they are, and the contrast to how they are w others vs each other. there is no scenario i can imagine that would break them up ykno? they’re just that close.
also ok. as i was thinking of ending this here (bc brain isn’t cooperating lol words aren’t easy these days) i remembered me ranting to my friend one day about sirius and his relationship with the potters, particularly james. it is a point of pride for me that i literally made her so emotional that she actually teared up and had a dramatic drop trail down her cheek bc of how passionately i was monologuing & the picture i was painting. (my other friend who doesn’t rly know/care ab hp but loves me also sat through the whole 20min presentation and was moved as well)
the gist of it is this: i love, love, love sirius black. he’s my first and only love. and one of the biggest reasons is how fucking loyal he is. he’s so selfless and so wonderful and a fkn godsend to have in ur corner. and he was so devoted to james and then harry that he tried to do everything in his power to protect these two, including putting himself in harms way multiple times without even caring about his life.
that kind of ‘i’ll do anything for you—burn the world down and rebuild it’ energy? my absolute favourite dynamic ever. i go batshit feral over it. and the way i see james, he’s the same for sirius. he’ll go to bat for him at all times, zero hesitation. he might be a chill, laid back guy most of the time but try coming after his Si and he will fuck you up. he’s underestimated bc he’s such a puppy but nope, he’s v deadly and v dangerous too. and he will not hesitate to show it when he’s protective.
i also just think they fit so fkn well ykno? like yah canon’s trash and all + Ash was so right for mentioning the advantage of only getting 5 lines but what we did get for these two??? i’ll forever be mad that j/s didn’t become the primary mainstream ship for the fandom. its so ??? like literally all ur material is right there. ‘not a day goes by…’; the mirrors???; the symbolism of azkaban—sirius losing his joy and hope and life the literal moment he loses the potters (esp james?); always, always being together; the entirety of swm!!!!! literally there’s no lack of content. u even have fkn outsider pov of a classic ‘historians: and they were just friends 😌’ scenario. it’s literally a queer tragedy, ok?
tbh, as a relationship ideal, prongsfoot isn’t something that would ever appeal to me irl—that level of intimacy—but to read? to imagine? it’s wonderful. and that’s not to even mention how enjoyable this niche is. i get consistently good fics (when i can find them amongst the mess of tags lol) and the best community <333

Personally I'm v curious about Mitsue and Sunnie :0 I wanna know why they're so sad!!
SO first off, all about mitsue >:))
mitsue is a meek and insecure person who be codependent af. her sister, mei fugii is someone she relies on to make decisions for her. often times, she simply sticks close and just follows her lead. this means that her along with her sister are snarky assholes who think theyre better than everyone. for a while, shes mostly mei's hype man ykno how it goes "hah good one, mei" "you're so right, sis" "you're sooo funny" its worth noting that mei is not a nice sister. shes constantly judging and disregarding mitsue. theyre v dysfunctional
HOWEVER at hopes peak, being the disaster lesbian she is, she falls head over heals for belle heartly the ultimate baker:)
so for a while she simply trails after belle like a lost puppy because shes nice to her. however, unfortunately she has no idea how to express emotions so just bullies her akjsadg belle is the ultimate pushover cuz she gets bullied and shes like "oh ok :) i made you strawberry pastries :) love you" and mitsues like's D:< !!!??? FUCK
SO BASICALLY fast forward to chapter 3 in the killing game and her sister, mei effing murders someone (yumna). when mei demands that mitsue help her cover it up, mitsue actually refuses, shockingly. as a last resort, mei runs to the roof and mitsue goes to follow her fearing what she'll do (unknown to her, belle is not far behind) when she gets to the roof, her sister threatens her catching mitsue completely of gaurd. mei goes to push her off the roof when suddenly belle interjects and pushes mei off the roof instead.
and bada bing bado boom. in an instant she lost her sister and her first love's fate was sealed
mitsue practically makes belle promise to not say anything abt anything. during the trial, mitsue is incredibly difficult and unhelpful, constantly interjecting and leading the class astray. all suspicion is on her until belle decides to lead the class to the right culprit. and after that, the trial is over
mitsue is devastated as belle says her last words to her. she doesnt watch her execution.
after that, mitsue is very quiet and reserved until she slowly opens up to the others and she makes friends and blah blah ykno how it goes
anyways she makes it through the killing game so shes alive and well!
NOW all about sunnie eheh
dw sunnie's story wont be as long ajsfgkash theyre still a wip
so basically sunnie just a mess of a human being who is horribly nervous all the time.
sunnie became the ult comic purely by chance. the circumstances in and itself is a joke. an old stand up routine went viral and next thing they knew, their comedy career skyrocketed (to their horror). then they were accepted into hopes peak academy (to their horror). people expecting sunnie to be funny is their biggest fear akjhkasf
basically, sunnie is a comedian whos too fucking nervous to actually be funny
in the killing game, sunnie's roommate is good ol strange kisshoten. the two of them form an unlikely bond blah blah besties
anyways their relationship and story is a work in progress sooo feel free to give me ideas or whatever kgefhefjkdjfg

also how does edyns curse work O_O
Ok so Lizzie at first was kinda iffy on the new additions to the crew but she warmed up WAY quicker than Chip did, mainly because Edyn kinda became the big sister to her and chip aswell and she was happy to have another girl around even if edyns a bit older yknow?
For Gillion, it took him a WHILE to get used to the oversea and Lizzie does play little jokes on him but will always end up actually explaining it to him and Edyn if she needed help aswell compared to Chip who often took jokes too far
Lizzie is ATTACHED to the Tidestrider siblings whenever they are on an island, because obviously the kids don't know the whole situation but they know bad people are after gil and Edyn so little Lizzie is fully convinced she can fight off anyone who comes by
Also Edyn taught Lizzie how to swim in this au, even though usually her or Gil would just let Lizzie ride on their back as they swam (chip was made to swim /j)

Let's just say her reunions with either Tidestrider sibling are Tense, Gillion's less so because by that time it's a known thing that Gillion has had his memories locked away, so she's more frustrated what became of someone she considered a sibling- plus out of chip, Edyn and herself... She is more chill for Gillion to sit with, mainly because she's the only one where when Gillion looks at them he can tell they are mourning the boy he used to be but can't remember being, Lizzie just takes him as he is now and doesn't bring up his lack of memory
Edyns is TENSE man, she assumed Chip and Lizzie had died after hearing that the sea turned completely black and even has rose tattoos to symbolise them, so when they reunite (thanks Caspian) Edyn feels so much Relief but... To Lizzie this Older Sister who was meant to look after them, who she held out hope would eventually turn up because she knows they got away, didn't even bother looking (obviously Lizzie doesn't know about edyns curse at this point)
I hope that makes sense for lizzie and eventually they come to an understanding but yeah I definitely need to work on her part of the au more so Uwbsusb again any suggestions or critique are super welcome!!
Edyn's curse is basically that she can never touch seawater again, it burns her and it she stays in it too long she will end up with burn marks- her gills also seal up in saltwater so uhh the best thing I can compare it to is what happens to devil fruit users in one piece!! They get extremely weak and begin to sink/pass out in the sea, just add on the burning and there's edyn's curse!
It's so she wouldn't ever be able to return to the trench, since she'd obviously know where it was and when Gil is taken back she's a full on teenager so-
Honestly it's a salt in the wound deal, because she lost her leg thanks to these Triton soldiers and they were certain she was going to die on that beach and yet they STILL cursed her in the slim chance she survived, which she did but it was a miracle
Her ships called the sunken pearl and that's because there's a rune carved into it that allows a bubble to form around the ship, so it works like a submarine!! So she can at least still see her home without being harmed!!
Also the rest of the black rose? I really gotta relisten to the one shot but drey fully goes hey is this daycare now can I bring my nieces/hj
Arlin is kinda glad chip has more Actual Child Friends though that poor man always gets roped into pranks or the kids just LAUNCHING themselves at him
Captain Rose spends the most time with Edyn probably, she's eager to learn a lot! But he does sit and tell tales of past adventures to the kids
