How long do you plan making rekindled? I loved Lo at some point, But now I cant get enough of your version!! And I wanted to know how did you come up with the darker back stories for Rekindled?
I have a semi-detailed skeleton of the plot with basically every story beat planned out, but I can't definitively say how long it will be as I haven't actually scripted every single episode out yet.
Not to mention a lot of the time my scripts will change from their original versions, by the time I get to an episode I've planned ahead for I've either thought of new ways to do it or don't like how it's paced so I change it. Case in point, there was a specific scene I had planned for the next episode and then wound up not liking the pacing because it was too fast so I moved it to several episodes away and restructured everything on the fly, took a whole new text document and scrapping sketches to figure shit out LOL I actually do have up until Episode 70ish scripted out in my documents with like, actual notes and dialogue for each episode, but I already have sooo many of those crossed out now because of how much I've had to tweak and change as time has gone on. This is why I plan ahead well in advance though, so that if I do need to make those changes, I can make them long before the episodes are even due to be drawn (and believe me, they get changed during the sketching phases too LOL).
What I can confirm for certain is that the current 'arc' we're in right now is definitely the bulk of the story. And that's not to say there isn't any content afterwards, more like the pacing just gets completely turned on its head in the last 30-40% of it where shit gets N U T S and just can't go back to the same energy that it was in the beginning. Without spoiling, there's a certain 'turning point' in the plot and everything after it isn't quite as long as the stint of story we're in now. This is mostly because the arc we're currently in is still establishing a bunch of stuff like the Underworld Corp, Persephone's schooling, etc. and once that turning point hits, it's basically all character development and focusing on the consequences of everything setup in the first arc.
I guess if I had to illustrate it, the story progression in the end will look something like this?
It's basically just this slow and chill climb that, once it hits that sharp peak, doesn't ever return to normal levels LMAO So I guess enjoy this part of the story while you can because it's the chillest it'll ever be w(°ｏ°)w And boy, I am EXCITED for that peak, but we have a long way to go before we get there. As for how long, well, I'm hoping I'll be able to have Rekindled's story wrapped up in the next 2 years, tops. Just depends on how the update schedule goes, and assuming the plans I have put down for the plotting don't change in any major way. I don't have as much of the latter half of the story actually scripted out yet so for all I know it could wind up being way longer than anticipated, but right now I have a pretty good sense of how the story beats will play out in relation to each other.
So it's kind of a wait and see thing, at least until I have every episode scripted out, and even then I won't be 100% sure because things are always being tweaked and fixed and changed on the fly! I'm guessing it won't go much longer than 170 episodes, give or take, but that's a very very VERY rough estimate.
Regardless, Rekindled still has a lot more story to tell, and I'm hoping y'all enjoy the ride with me <3
As for the darker backstories, y'all don't even know yet. Like... I've got stuff planned. Stuff that even Banshriek (my BG assistant) doesn't know about. Stuff that I keep buried very deep in Rekindled's episode documents that won't see the light of day until they have to be ripped out of the deep dark trenches of the characters' own buried secrets, and by that point, the toothpaste will be out of the tube, there will be no going back. So, again... enjoy it while it lasts. Because I don't pull my punches. And maybe even you won't be able to look at me the same way again once the final blow has been dealt.

god im gonna feel so basic but OKAY:
SO!! I mean my biggest general headcanon for the SMGs is that they have weird like... pain connection?
Like, if 3 was to... I dunno, get injured in some way, 4 could feel it at the same level, but be fine physically?
Same with Mario n them, but only about half.

1) I LOVE the idea of 3 having fangs. I dunno when it happened, but when it did I couldn't see him otherwise!
2) I adore 3 with long hair... It just suits him to me! I can't explain it lol
3) ... He totally has skull earrings and scars from IGBP, y'know.
4) I still think he's pansexual! I just give him like a... Male lean, I guess? (I hope that isn't a weird term, or something. I'm terrible at explaining stuff haha)
5) If he had a tail... I think it'd either be like a skeleton theming or like. Maybe a skull at the top of it? (I have a design OF him, but he doesn't have a tail, so I can't explain it otherwise)
6) Besties with Saiko and Meggy. "Begrudgingly" also besties with Mario (he jokes about it be begrudgingly, I think he truly does think of Mario as a friend!)
7) He spoils Eggdog rotten (hah), to such a point that Eggdog now has one of those spiky collars (the kind that aren't unsafe for dogs to wear! Like, somewhat pointed, but not sharp and dangerous!), much to the shock of everyone (minus Melony, she does the same thing (roughly) with Axol Jr.)
8) Going back to point 3 for a moment, 3 has scars all over the right side of his body! He's a little bit self-conscious over them, but won't ever say it like. Publically (esp. To 4 because then he'd TRULY feel bad for it.)
He also doesn't blame 4 at all for what happened, especially to his own body.
9) 3 paints his nails black, or on rare occasions, a dark purple! On even more rarer occasions, it's a dark blue. :]
I think that's all of them? Maybe? Idk, lol.

k after looking through most (?) of the skirk redesigns: the in game model doesn't really hit for me (5/10, but her outfit is like 1/10 lol), but neither do a lot of the redesigns ahahaha
not an artist so like don't mind my critiques lol y'all do you! also these are all personal preferences haha don't take things too serious
imo some redesigns look too much like dainsleif, w blonde hair and a cape very similar to the one dain wears, w black/blue colors dominating the design. its valid if you want to make them similar to show their khaenriahn nationality, but i think there are more interesting ways to show that connection, esp since everyone can still tell kaeya's a khaenriahn too, even though his design is very different from dain's.
the other half of the redesigns don't retain the "girl" part of her canon description. understandably, if u ignore that and make a buff old woman bc you're sick of lack of character model diversity/want to retcon canon, kudos and respect. it's just kinda meh to me bc of personal taste, nothing deeper
the other thing is that 99% of the time, these skirk redesigns still give her light colored hair !! where is the pitch black, inky abyss void colored hair representation? if we're gonna corrupt her arms and make them blackened w the taint of the abyss, why not her hair?? if it needs to be less boring just add like light tips or a violet dyed streak or smth. I think I'm just sick of all the light haired bitches in game i need a character with actually black hair asap
my ideal design would probably be a tall female model, but she has to have the energy of navia—like u can still tell she's a "young lady" who just happens to use the tall model. preferably taller than childe (impossible in game but i can dream). would also love her to wear a hood/hooded cloak, maybe decorated w those spiky fishbone-like motifs from her concept arts. this is purely bc we do not have a single hood wearing character besides treasure hoarders, and i think it helps convey the "elusive fighter wandering the abyss" vibe. other than that, a purple black galaxy patterned cloak (like how the insides of guizhong's sleeves were drawn) with those fishbone spikes from her concept art, ankle boots, and maybe a flowy, loose shirt and tight pants... kinda like this but w the over the top accessories customary to genshin characters
if you really must give her some light elements to her design, make her eyes just blindingly bright voids. the look of a person who severed all ties to the mortal world and has no care for mundane lives

Is this normal for Demis or are these just me???
I have ADHD so this just getting bigger lol but I guess this can apply to anyone, esp the second part, but in this case it's in a semi context for me?
A fun and interesting aspect of being #demisexual and #demiromantic (at least towards functional characters in my case as that's what this is about and I've only ever felt this way towards them, probably a psychological thing tbh) or it could just be a me thing... Either way!
Is that the longer I hyperfixate or enjoy a fandom for extended periods of time I tend to slowly fall for more people even YEARS after I started it and I pick it back up later. 😂
Like in Demon Slayer / Kimetsu no Yaiba this past week or the week before I fell for Obanai. Like I had no inkling of an idea that this would happen . I have now fallen for all but one of the Hashira men (men, not male), Gyomei and also have fallen for Yoriichi.
Like... when I first watched it, I would not of been able to tell you this, heck I believe when I first read/finished the manga I had one. ONE guy I simped for being Kyojuro, I believe. Maybe two (second being Giyu) as I have no sense of time, but I know Sanemi was the third for me, and that happened AFTER I finished the manga.
Like I felt nothing for most of them, heck any of them for a while, given I watched season 1 when it came out partially and felt nothing, then the rest when the Mugen train movie came out, still nothing. Then I watched the second season and read the manga and finished it immediately after. (The second season being when I was like Oh SHIT. NO. HE DIES. HEART WHYYY) And now I feel like I am unintentionally "playing pokemon" with the adult male slayers (to count Yoriichi in) like.... 😂
I don't think I'll fall for any of the Oni / demons.... but that's under my terms as for me looking at their human forms and the Oni / demon forms is like comparing Crisis Core Sephiroth to when the Jenova virus/genetics has taken over his mind, or like a zombie virus, they aren't quite the same people imo. Like I simp for Sane Sephiroth, not the most famous/infamous one lol. So like an example: Hakuji =/= Akaza, as he's not himself when he's an Oni.
That being said I've gotten attached to a few of those former lives so time will tell I guess? If that attachment will go anywhere else? 😂😅
(Note: so far I've never felt that sort of attraction towards women- just squishes, would like to be QPPs or kinning at most- so I'm assuming I'm demi-het but I don't have enough experience with NB characters to know yet for sure. But for all I know any of that can change. 🤷♀️ Everytime I happens in general it takes me by surprise lol)

A REALLY WEIRD THING (might also just be a me thing, that might get me cancelled but y'know fuck it) is being attracted to a character's adult version, like in fan art??? So like attracted to aged up versions of characters.
For example, Eijiro Kirishima from MHA. Like I feel absolutely nothing towards canon Kirishima other than he's a sweet baby that needs protected at all costs. But then I saw a fan art of adult him huge and buff/beef cake with long but still kinda spiky hair similar to l Ryoma from Fire Emblem Fates or Like Axel/Lea from Kingdom Hearts (that might of been not helping ) and I feel attracted to that specific version of him. Like very, very, specifically, even other fanarts of a grown up versions of him just doesn't hit me without that hair or him without long hair and idk why. I don't normally feel attracted to someone bc of physical qualities so I cannot even phantom an explainstion😅😂

So like when I watch the anime or read the manga it just feels like looking at an old school picture book, photo albums and videos at MOST. Like PRECIOUS BEAN, I protecc. That is a child, a puppy. It makes me feel real weird and awkward bc like... yeah he has Kirishima's personality 1:1 but I don't feel that way about actual canon Kirishima myself as that is A HUGE NO. This also has happened with Bakugo and Shouto too later, like.... y'all need to stop with the adult versions of them bc they're making me feel things which are kinda controversial (at least on TikTok) which makes me feel kinda anxious about it all 😵💫, and then like I create two versions of them in my head because I just love the fandom adult versions of them??? And it feels separate from the canon version?
And at least with TikTok's climate I couldn't tell many people this in like comments, bc they immediately assume I am a predator- which like esp if not specified I can get 💯 but like. It's not like that 💀 I stumbled upon some fan art of a guy who could be his elder brother or father and like that is who I like.

I have decided to adopt Snow she is no longer a warrior cat she is mine and I love her with all my heart-
I actually have design for most of the Blue Family and she’s just the one I felt like drawing first. I kind want to try and design a ton of the cats but by families bc that what I like to do. Also this is now Snowstorm au time in a rewrite I have many many ideas for. Also Also ID under near the bottom!

-She was named Snowstorm in relation to her emotions that swell up quickly and her protectiveness over her family, relating to a storm’s eye where there is safety.
-Out of the nursery she was dreaming of higher places, her and Bluekit would play leader and deputy often and she usually would be Snowstar with Blue as her deputy. She was closest to her mom Moonflower and some of the kinder warriors like Sunfall who cared for her because they knew of her father’s situation. She didn’t even think about Stormgrowl being her father until she overheard a argument between Moon and him after they broke up and he got with another molly
-She strove to protect her family after this and was fiercely protective, to the point she insisted on patrolling with Bluepaw so they could be together and stay close. But she also found her enjoyment for simpler things like mending dens and bundling herbs from her uncle Goosefeather
-When the battle happened she was busy fighting off a warrior, barley noticing the rain start to fall when it all ceased and she heard Blue’s cry. As Sunfall dragged Moon’s body away she refused to let go and everyone looked down in pain at the apprentices grief. Ever since she’s had a immediate distrust for other clan cats esp Windclan
-After her and Blue being named she started finding new friends and her and Thistleclaw started a mutual pining, though it was mostly on her side. When she noticed she was expecting kits she immediately went to Goose and told him the news. While he was now pretty old he was excited as well and they discussed names and what to do to best have a healthy litter, they were pretty close in my au.
-After another week, after telling Blue, Rose, and Thrush she finally told Thistle and they became mates. It was all happy and nice, Thistleclaw was a little overprotective but she understood it. When she only had one kit she was a bit disappointed but let it go bc at least the kit was happy. The new mates had a small argument over the kits name bc she wanted to name him Moonkit while Thistle wanted to name him Windkit, eventually they settled it and named the kit Shiverkit after his pale fur and spiky tufts.
-Snow keeps on trying to stay busy but gets antsy and decides to go on a walk, having Goose babysit Shiverkit. Just as she gets out and breathes in the open air Blue catches her eye and calls her to follow her: they get away from camp where Blue finally tells a secret that swamps her heart in a second
-Of course Snowstorm is shocked and feels betrayed and backstabbed. But the piece of her that wants to cares for her sister is still there. She feels that rise in her that she was named for and can’t keep it back, paws shaking, claws unsheathing and sheathing as her breathe quickens. And we’ll stop bc it’s spoilers and I kinda want to rewrite the whole area around here lol!! Sorry guys!
(ID- Snowstorm is a pale blue almost white cat with sleek fur that spikes up out of nowhere and chilly deep blue eyes. She is laying down with a paw out in a stretch, her claws curling and the other pointed down, her back leg is curled under her with her tail swooping over. She has hair covering most of her right eye though it is also closed, the other open and her mouth in a smile with two fangs poking out. She is mostly white with pale blue on her legs, tail, ears, and hair floof. Dark blue is on her tail tip, paws, ear tips, nose, and freckles with a marking on her back. blue is actually my favorite oc. like not to pick favorites but if i picked favorites blue would be my favorite. he is often overlooked which is fair due to his character design not being themost interesting of my ocs i talk/draw the most but hes one of my oldest ocs and means SO much to me. when i was a kid he was who i longed 2 be like. oc u project all ur gender onto (among other things but Especially that). hes one of those characters thats always been trans and u just needed to know what trans Was to say oh yeah! thats him! unlike pose whose gender got transed hes just always been trans and i didnt know it immediately when making him as a rly young kid i had to find it out later. he was also one of my first bisexual ocs i think like he got to be one of the first lgbts <3 king. the first art i drew of him was ‘referenced’ (i probably put it on a piece of paper and traced the outline) from like a happy meal lion toy that i gave a blue mohawk mane and tattoos, he didnt keep the tats (he may get some when i get a cool design idea revamp for them) but the blue mohawk manes always stuck with him, for a rly long timei didnt know how to draw a mohawk tho so it just looks faintly spiky in old art lol. his design hasnt changed too much tbh hes mostly had tweaks to make him just look better over the years and as i figured out how to draw certain things better
i think abt him all the time and want to talk abt him soo much but his character arc n story has a lot of intensity n complexity that make it difficult to just like share stuff abt him out of the blue esp since his story arc n character n stuff have a lot to do w like abuse n healing. someday im hopefully going to draw smth with him to im gonna tell my therapist on you. i have sooooo much i could say about him i wrote a bunch of stuff out but a lot of it i might find better ways 2 share it, for a useless fun fact i will share that while i say he likes skateboarding on his art fight but i dont actually know if he can skateboard like tbh i think he just pretends he can bcuz he thinks it makes him look cool. he CAN heelie around on heelies tho. one of the ways he probably stims is by pulling on his hair (like galo does, and like i do :]). also hes Very unhappy in (or sort of hates aspects n loves aspects of) his career as a musician thats relatively in the public consciousness at all times, but he struggles a lot with recognizing n understanding many of his feelings / doing anything about them due 2 several things (autism, chronic dissociation from did, etc) but he gets there dw <3 he gets a happy ending

The Mystrade Treatise
I am long, long out of the Sherlock fandom, but I still have a soft spot for mystrade after ~ 7 odd years (the only thing I really cared about in the show), so when a friend asked about mystrade I hit them with a spontaneous 2000 word block of text. I thought I’d share it as an homage to the still quietly existing community of mystrade shippers out there. Basically, in this essay I will argue for my interpretation of how the BBC TV show Sherlock (2012) establishes an implied relationship between Mycroft, (The Government) and Lestrade (The Force) in the subtext. This analysis will be broken down to two parts: 1) show chronology / their history and 2) their compatibility, which can be further split into 2a) personalities and 2b) external circumstances.
(The beginning is the only formal(ish) part of - I’m calling it a treatise -, the rest of the piece is written in “I typed it all in messenger app” style. This all came out off the top of my head, so if you think I’m missing something I’m open to the callout)
TL;DR: I’m still mystrade trash and I’m pulling the receipts on mystrade canon
1) Their history - it's clear they know each other and are in communication with each other since the very beginning - and very likely even before - the events of the show. Just a show tidbit, the ending of the pilot episode has Lestrade watch John and Sherlock walk away happily staring into each other's eyes and tell Donovan about their potential as partners, whereas the actual first episode replaces him with Mycroft talking to his assistant Anthea, which shows their character parallels. In one aspect, their role as "aggravated older guardian" is a shared one and one that - rationally, but in fanon - allows them to commiserate with other another. Also, Mycroft kidnaps John in his very first day of him meeting Sherlock, so reasonable to conclude he did the same to Lestrade, so they've clearly met. And, I believe it's canon that Lestrade helped Sherlock with his drug problem, so he's clearly run into Mycroft, whether it's because his brother's OD'd or found with possession or whatever whatever. The possibilities are endless.
We have hints of them knowing each other throughout the show - in season 2 episode 2 the Hound of Baskerville (I am surprised and appalled I know this off by heart instead of more important things), the duo meets Lestrade in a tavern where he's clearly back from holiday and when Sherlock eggs him by basically calling him Mycroft's lackey, he, aggrieved, says "I don't just do what your brother tells me", which is a line I still unfortunately remember over 5 years later, and that is the first precedent set in canon that they clearly communicate. We can interpret this line, given the circumstances, that Mycroft asked him to cut his vacation short to go check up on his brother, and Lestrade, being whipped, was like fine.
This is mere speculation, but in that mini episode, Many Happy Returns, Lestrade is listening to Anderson go on about his conspiracy theories on how Sherlock is still alive, and at the end of it he passes a newspaper article about Sherlock, and he smiles at it like he KNOWS he's still alive somewhere even though he just walked out calling Anderson on his bullshit and dismissing his theories, and I like to interpret that as Mycroft told him Sherlock's still alive. Plus, when Sherlock greets him after his two year absence, the way Lestrade reacts is less “am I seeing a ghost because you’re supposed to be dead” and more “you’re finally back I already know you were alive because my boyfriend Mycroft told me”.
The first time we see them in frame together (in the mystrade community this is famously known as the 29 frames moment because they only showed up for - 29 frames, like 2 seconds) was in season 3 episode 3, where Sherlock goes missing and everyone looks for him in the hidey holes they know of. Lestrade is seen in Mycroft's office while Mycroft tells him about potential hiding spots. Honestly he did look hella dismissive and rude but you know what? Everyone was stressed. But this shows not only is Lestrade trusted in his secret government offices - and likely this was the secret one because it looked like a cellar - but he trusts Lestrade implicitly. When Sherlock is about to leave on a plane, Lestrade's in a pub watching the TV screen when Moriarty's face is all over it and the very next scene we see Mycroft on the phone with someone getting the news that this was happening. Coincidence? I think NOT - Lestrade called up Mycroft and told him, CANON.
And then there's the Christmas special or whatever it was, about the abominable bride, and yes, this one is set in Sherlock's drug fevered mind, but that only means that, in Sherlock's mind, he sees the two of them as a set (Sherlock ships it confirmed lol). During the whole episode when we see the canon versions of Mycroft and Lestrade they are together as a unit. When John leaves him, Sherlock's mind goes to the most reliable thing in his life to help him, which is his brother (and his brother's boyfriend) and his friend Lestrade to help him, together. Sherlock asks the two of them to help him dig up a body and they share a Look, which is clearly Mycroft's way of asking Lestrade to do the dirty work of actually digging and Lestrade resignedly concedes because there is no other way to analyse the Look, and in the next scene we see Sherlock and Lestrade digging in a grave while Mycroft holds up a lantern because Mycroft doesn't like legwork and Lestrade, clearly his boyfriend in Sherlock's mind, understands this and is willing to accommodate.
And then we have the whole of S4, or as I like to call it, Johnlock hell but mystrade victories!, because in s4e1 when Mary is shot in the aquarium, the first person they look at is each other, indicating they take some level of comfort or seek it out from one another in a room full of other people, also the two of them arrived together so they clearly coordinated, also when the gun was lifted Mycroft looks shocked and steps back a bit while Lestrade moves forward in a “ready to step in” protective gesture, and this all happened in the same frame, and there are gifsets of this happening, and everyone was quietly screaming (Johnlockers in pain, mystrade shippers in "look at them sharing a frame together look at these scraps we're getting"). In the second ep we don't see them together but we do see Mycroft getting hit on by Lady Smallwood and he looks hella uncomfortable about it, while Lestrade is talking with another detective and Sherlock shoots him down telling him she's not the one (because clearly we all know who is the one and Sherlock knows it's his brother).
Oh yeah also jumping back to S3, Mycroft is saying no one can match him and he sees everyone as goldfish but Sherlock is like oh really and was lowkey concerned about him and that's how the mystrade fandom got this whole goldfish thing and it's adorable (special shout out to duchessclovery ‘s masterful fanvid romcom series A Fish Called Greg), and in the wedding ep Sherlock calls Mycroft to attend the wedding but he refuses, and Sherlock says "specter in the feast" to entice him and I like to interpret that as him lowkey jabbing him with a *in*spector in the feast because Lestrade was there looking tired and lonely throughout the whole ep lmaaaaaaaaaaaaao.
Anyway back to S4E2, Mycroft is getting hit on, Lestrade is the most tired we've ever seen him, Sherlock is trying to waive off Lestrade's suitors to save him for his brother. Why is Lestrade so tired? Yes, he's questioning a suspect or something, but also! maybe it's related to his love interest getting hit on, who knows???? And lastly, the last ep of S4, the golden era of mystrade, at the very end of the episode after we've seen Mycroft at his most vulnerable, Sherlock asks Lestrade to "take care of him (Mycroft). he's not as strong as he seems". This was an explicit request by Sherlock, addressing Lestrade correctly for the first time, to take care of his brother, and Lestrade says yes. Of course I will. S4 ended with the promise of the him taking care of Mycroft and honestly I don't care about the entire episode except that part
2) A: their personalities: so, Mycroft, as his colleagues know him, is ~ the ice man ~. He's hard to know, even harder and more stubborn and isolated than his brother, and on top of that he's like, contractually obligated under his top secret government job to not be known. That makes him, and this is canon as Sherlock discussed his loneliness with him in S3, even more lonely than his brother, and probably, as much as he likes to think himself more accommodating than his brother and he can definitely pretend for the sake of appearances, more difficult to deal with than Sherlock if he really sets his mind to it. But he's not a complete block of ice - after all, ice can melt - and he has soft spots for his family, esp. his unruly little brother, and by extension (maybe more necessity than real care, but still) the people his brother affiliates with. Because Sherlock is so tricky to deal with, I believe he has a soft spot for people who share that softness for his spiky sibling, and no one cares for Sherlock as he does except for Mrs Hudson, John, and Lestrade. Lestrade's done it for even longer than John, and in the show plays a somewhat paternal figure to Sherlock despite him causing him even more stress sometimes than solving cases for him would relieve. Lestrade is shown to drop everything to help Sherlock when he needs it, and is considered one of his best friends when Moriarty put a sniper on each of Sherlock's closest acquaintances (Lestrade was a target). Lestrade always saw the good in Sherlock despite everything, and believed he could be great. Very few sees the same potential, or shows that level of kindness for - lets be honest here - someone we would want to kick in real life. Lestrade's kindness and patience, enough to deal with Sherlock, surely can be extended to involve Mycroft, as Mycroft's protectiveness extends somewhat to Sherlock's friends.
And this is not a one way street of just Lestrade being kind and accepting. The people Sherlock surrounds himself with appear dull, and have "normal" lives, but secretly either have a florid past (Mrs Hudson) (and her present with the race car and her quick thinking when the flat gets ransacked) and/or crave adventure and danger and intrigue (John) (Molly). Lestrade is the probably the same. He seems aggravated by Sherlock but still like him a whole lot and truly care for him, and you don't go into policing if not for some kind of excitement. He has a failed marriage with his wife who boringly cheated on him with a PE teacher, like how predictable and cliche, and they broke up. Lestrade is loyal, and he wants to fix things, but in the end it doesn't work out. The show doesn't really tell us why, but given what we know of his work and his habits, he probably spends way too much time on the job and in part, neglected his home life. That isn't to say the cheating his wife did can be condoned, nor was it justified, but it does tell us that Lestrade is a workaholic who craves excitement and adventure which explains his attachment to Sherlock. Who else can match that with him in a relationship? Another workaholic who surrounds himself in government intrigue and MI6 bullshit cloak and daggers who also share a soft spot for the most annoying detective consultant, of course!!! For all we know from the show, Mycroft is Lestrade's one constant relationship outside of work. Their common interest is keeping their shared loved ones safe. Beyond that, even though Mycroft feels bored by everyone because "no one is as smart as i, hohoho", Sherlock used to be the same but he found John. We see Lestrade able to hold his own against Sherlock sometimes too, and he is a detective inspector, so as much as Sherlock likes to call him dumb we know that Lestrade's actually pretty smart. If he can hold up his own against Sherlock, he can hold up his own against Mycroft. Mycroft needs someone with the patience to go through all his bullshit, and Lestrade needs someone smart and interesting and protective, because as a protector himself sometimes you forget you need someone to protect you in turn. And that is basically their whole thing - two fierce guardians, trying to protect the world, finding they also need protection, and finding it in each other (end of season 4). Also there's this scene where Lestrade is sitting by his desk with his feet propped up while he eats a donut and says "not my division" which looks exactly like this scene where Mycroft is sitting by his desk with his feet propped up looking smug, or as the mystrade shippers like to call it, "boyfriends picking up each other's behaviours". Essentially, the johnlock relationship sort of parallels the mystrade relationship in that we have a smartass, spiky, secretly vulnerable one paired with a badass, patient, relatively more sunny one. But more mature. And also preferable. The two of them share some kind of relationship that has reached the point of nonverbal understanding, as we can see in their quiet glances towards each other during the few times we see them on screen together, that requires a level of trust and time.
2) B: compatibility in external circumstances - this is a short one, it's mostly that they're both workaholics who needs someone to understand their unpredictable work schedules, and also how minimal their social life can get being a) married to work and b) work can be classified and you can't tell anyone about your case files / government coverups. No one could understand the need for secrecy and getting up in the middle of the night for a case/subterfuge than Mycroft and Lestrade, as their career roles work in tangent with each other. And they share (1) chaotic child between the two of them, so they just. get it when one receives a call telling them to fish this loud annoying bitey man child out of the Thames. Their jobs get in the way of establishing close relationships, so who better to relate to than another who live the same kind of life and can understand?

heyo it's me again, how do you draw hair if that's ok to ask? im just rlly bad at that rn (btw drawing [or trying to draw] the way you draw has made my life So Much Easier, it's so nice? i been doing eyes like you do for sam and i'm so happy with it?? when i have some nice ones i'll post them)
thank you so much for asking!!! I just wanna preface this by saying that as a white artist who draws primarily white characters, my "hair tutorial" is going be severely limited to what I spend most of my time drawing. in gonna try and make this advice as general as possible, but please seek out artists of color for advice on drawing characters of color! I've found this tutorial by @misselaney really helpful (and way more in depth than this is going to be lol) for drawing black hair!
alright, so I'm going to use sam and dean for this because I've drawn them only about a thousand different times. (I outlined their head shapes in yellow just to give u a better idea of things)
I usually start by drawing the hairline (outlined in green). that's going to include wherever the part is, how much their hair is receding, sideburns, etc.
once u have the hairline, my personal style is to draw hair in chunks (outlined in red). obviously this is going to vary through different styles and hair textures, but I think it's a good starting place!
I also just wanna throw out there, that like with all "cartoonish" styles, a lot of this relies on exaggeration of character traits through physical traits. deans got that "bad boy" look, so his hair is going to be spiky and probably full of gel, whereas sam has the softer college boy look, so his hair is a little curlier. it's obvious to us on screen when we're watching the show, but unless you're going for realism, those traits can get lost unless they're exaggerated a little.
this goes for everything, but USE REFERENCE PHOTOS!!!!! and esp if you're just starting out, dont be afraid of tracing photos. I know that's a big taboo thing, but tracing is not inherently bad, the issue is people tracing other artists work and then posting and claiming it as their own, but no one is going to arrest you for tracing photos as a warm up exercise or to learn how to draw something new. (again! tracing is a starting place, and you dont want to completely rely on it, but dont be afraid of doing it at all)

of course the skamfr clip would drop while i was at the gym true to form lmao and of course i had to watch it in the bike stall
anyway i am EmOtiOns GOD it’s so good to see them all again ! I just...There is so much going on at once in this clip ? The layering of emotions is so well done ? The cinematography ? It feels very powerful like they all leveled up ? Everyone looks so good and cool, very true to life 3rd year of HS glow up when you’re the oldest and coolest. Special mention to Lucas and Imane who radiated powerful twin energy with their AMOUR sweatshirts like what up we’re in a loving relationship and you WILL know about it. And their hair!!! Lucas’s more hedgehog spiky than ever and Imane’s braids look GLORIOUS. Alexia’s new haircut is also adorable. And of course Arthur has got the main glow up !!! His hair looks a lot darker and it makes him look a lot more intense.
I am already blown away by Robin’s acting, I feel this is going to be a fucking punch in the face of a season. The long shot where we see everyone, sitting in a row and laughing around and then moves to Arthur, who is obviously terrified of what is happening to him - magistral. I do feel like there might be a divide at least in the beginning of the season with how happy the rest of the boy squad felt in this clip - esp Lucas and Basile who are just radiating love and fun - and Arthur who is willingly isolating himself ( a great specialty of skam mains lmao). It’s already heartbreaking. His hearing loss seems to be temporary and coming and going which is going to be very interesting from a storytelling perspective. Also is that super high sound something like tinnitus ? That must be so exhausting to hear all the time god. The way he basically brushed off Basile’s questions with some cute bro-flirting was funny but mostly heartbreaking. You can see how good Arthur is at deviating questions from himself, like without breaking any sweat, it’s...very worrying.
I loved the French HS realness - the time before the BAC is just SO STRESSFUL. Not everyone takes it the same way, though, but it’s just such a harrowing system. Imane and Arthur are planning to go for medicine - interesting choice. I totally see Imane doing that, she’s smart and caring she would make a perfect doctor. Arthur I don’t know enough to figure out if this is something he really wants or pressure from parents, which could enter the toxic family plotline. Lucas and Basile are obviously going for prepa, short for preparatory school; one or two very intense years of cramming for exams for prestigious schools, I wonder what kind - it could be mathematics or preparing for engineering schools ? or biology/physics for high level research ? I totally see Lucas do that but Basile hmmmmm lmao. It’s known for making you ‘not have a life’ for a year or two basically...good luck Lucas and also Elu lmao. Basile and Daphné were totally cute, Daphné obsessed with the foyer again and Basile so supportive of her, they really have grown on me. Yann and Chloé breaking up is kind of a relief - I was never really interested in that.
It’s especially interesting here that we see Emma and Arthur have a conversation ? Emma seems the most lost with her future and maybe if Arthur is also struggling this season, they might bond over that and I find it very interesting. I always hated how Eva’s arc after her season merely boiled down to ‘drunk party girl’ and I would love for Emma to evolve more. All in all the decisions for the future might end up be a big theme in this season and the next and I absolutely love that. THe ending where they’re all chanting ‘fuck parcoursup’....incredible representation lmao i feel ex highschoolers all over the country getting war flashbacks lol
All in all, incredible clip, the rhythm of the writing and filming feels so on point ? and that was often something that was a problem in previous season, them trying to cram too much or too little in, and now that they are OG themselves they can do it in their own way and GOD i have such high hopes for this season don’t let me down this time skamfr

why does Kurt's and Jake's hair always flip around like it does?
I know I’ve answered this before, but mostly it’s because of when I first designed them (like early high school is when I settled on the spiky nonsense, and they’re just later iterations of the same character so it’s the same cut barring the bangs which was a later edit and I doubt many have noticed that insignificant detail so for sake of clarity I’ll say they’re the same cut lol). But back then I had very little idea on how to draw hair or make physical sense of it, much less design a haircut that would look decent from one angle but wouldn’t look totally stupid from another (profile views esp would look exceptionally dumb if I drew them “properly”). Like kid me designed them with a static ¾ cartoon view in mind, and didn’t really think on how that could provide issues over time as I improved at drawing people from other angles. It also might make more sense that *most* characters I had back then had really atrocious or nonsense haircuts, I either just don’t draw them anymore or they’re minor characters so I changed subtly changed their cuts and crossed my fingers that no one would notice the edit (like Ian/Seth the naga/magician boi).
Anyways, I guess it’s like a mix of Mickey Mouse logic, where his ears are at nonsense angles from a side view to look more appealing (what even are the rotation physics?), and also just…drawing what doesn’t look weird or stupid to me? Not a whole lot of logic to it. And I know it so I make jokes all the time on how their haircuts make absolutely no sense from a realistic perspective or saying something like “maybe this is the day I understand Jake’s hair physics” with the punchline being that I never will. But too late to really change what most people find iconic of those two characters? Like you should’ve seen the blowback I got when I made Jake permanently fat a few years back, people would probably start riots on my blog if I messed with the hair lmao

3x02: The Kids Are Alright
Then:
Dean’s going to hell, guys!
Now:
In Cicero, Indiana, a divorced suburban mom anxiously waits the return of her daughter. It’s the girl’s night to spend with her dad, but upon her return she pleads with her mom to never go back. It’s scary and there are monsters there. Meanwhile, the dad is busy working in his shop --making a wooden toy that’s about 5 years too late if it’s for his daughter that hates him. It’s late so he calls it a night, but as he walks away, the table saw spins to life.
He switches it off and walks away again --only for it to turn on again. As he goes to investigate again, something attacks him from behind, pushing him onto the blade. Blood gushes everywhere! And the camera pans to the little wooden horse, rocking slowly back and forth.
Meanwhile, Sam is 1000% unable to play it cool when talking to Bobby about Dean’s demon deal, flubbing about ordering pizza at a diner. Good save, Sammy! Dean’s caught a case and a serious desire to relive the bendiest weekend of his life. He’s in YOLO mode and wants to see Lisa Braeden again. Dean’s in high spirits as he drops Sam off at the motel, telling him, “Don’t wait up for me.”
Dean pulls into a new suburban neighborhood, and locates Lisa’s house. She’s a bit surprised to see him. It’s been almost 9 years since that weekend after all. “Dean Winchester. Wow.” Haha, so say we all. She’s a bit busy at the moment. She’s throwing a birthday party for her son, Ben, who’s turning 8. He also has close cropped spiky hair, loves hard rock, cars, and food. Dean looks on with consternation while Lisa greets her friend, the woman from the cold open. Dean mingles with the locals.
And some quality time with his mini-me.
Dean does some quick math in his head (I LOVE when Dean visibly counts to himself. It’s something so endearing and consistent about Dean over the years.)
Lisa is consoling her friend about her ex-husband’s untimely demise. Her friend confesses that she feels there’s something wrong with Katie, her daughter. In fact, she’s not sure it’s actually her daughter. She goes to collect Katie to leave the party.
Dean walks in and ever so casually asks Lisa if Ben is his. (Natasha: dies laughing) Lisa dismisses his concerns, but it’s clear Dean’s still a little nervous. But even under possible parental distress, Dean’s able to work the case and ask Lisa about the death of her friend’s ex. Lisa admits to a lot of bad things in the neighborhood.
Sam, meanwhile, gets a visit from Ruby. Cue dramatic zoom. Sam wants to know more about her knife that can kill demons (those innocent days! I don’t even think he knows she’s a demon here!) Ruby wants to talk about Sam’s ESP -- and his mom’s friends (what?? My mind is fuzzy about this.) As she’s leaving, she tells Sam there’s a case in this town.
Two seconds later, Dean calls and tells Sam there’s a case in this town --four other people have died in Lisa’s neighborhood.
Meanwhile, Lisa’s friend wakes from a nap (after falling asleep reading The Historian. Lol, I completely understand Friend of Lisa, but Show, a book about bloodsuckers is a little too on the nose.) Her daughter is watching her like a little creepoid.
The girl is creepy and clingy and has some seriously messed up skin when the mom sees her reflection in the mirror.
Sam investigates the other homes where people died.

As the woman points out where her husband fell and died, Sam notices blood on the windowsill, and a blank staring little girl looking out the window --and a sucker-like hickey on the back of the mom’s neck.
Friend of Lisa’s is rubbing her own neck when she’s making Katie her lunch. She tells her daughter to eat and then locks herself in the bathroom to inspect her own sucker hickey. Eww. There’s a pounding on the door. She wants in. She continues to rattle the door while Friend of Lisa’s grows increasingly worried. The rattling stops when the doorbell rings. She rushes downstairs to find Katie answering the door to the neighborhood sunshine representative, bearing a basket of goodies. The woman inquires how they’re doing, and then about if they’re planning on keeping the house. Cold, lady. Friend of Lisa’s slams the door in her face, only to find Katie right there demanding ice cream.
Out and about, Dean sees a sad Ben, sitting alone. He joins Ben on the bench and asks if there’s something wrong. Ben’s as chatty as his not-father when it comes to emotions. Some kid borrowed Ben’s game and now he won’t give it back. Ben refuses to let Dean meddle. Dean’s proud of the little guy for wanting to fight his own fights. (I hold back my commentary about toxic masculinity being passed down to the next generation. My, how far we’ve come, Dean Let-It-Go Winchester.)
Ben heads up to the group of bullies and calls out the kid who stole his game. Ben knees him in the balls and grabs his game while Dean grins from the sidelines. Lisa storms up and berates Ben for kicking another kid. Dean gets the Mom Look of Death ™.
Lisa (RIGHTLY SO) reminds Dean that they spent a single night together years ago and it is hella creepy for Dean to be hanging out with her son right now. Like, I KNOW RIGHT? (Team Lisa) Lisa and Ben head out, only for Ben to run back to Dean and give him a big thank you hug. It’s super adorable.
And then...the adorableness dies swiftly as creepy children in the playground turn in unison to stare at Dean.
And back with Friend of Lisa, her daughter is aggressively telling her that she loves her while mom, weeping, buckles her into the car. Mom adjusts the rearview and catches a glimpse of...well…
Drive, momma, drive! The little girl is still JONESING for ice cream so mom drives them to a nice refreshing...boat ramp. She puts the car in neutral, releases the parking brake, and the car and child slide slowly into the water. (I find this scene particularly horrifying because of its layer of real life parallels so GOOD JOB writers for making me feel awful.)
Mom gets home, emotionally ravaged, only to find a water soaked little girl sitting at her table. “Hi mummy,” the girl says. “Can I have that ice cream now?” Fuuuuuuuck.
Sam, meanwhile, is diligently doing research when Dean bursts into the hotel room. (Side note: there’s been so little Sam in this episode that I was actually surprised to see him again. In my defense, I’m tired. In my defense, I’m also distracted by creepy kids.) Sam’s function is clearly to dump a ton of lore on us. We learn that changelings aren’t just babies. They can be kids - and there’s one at every house that’s had a death. They climb in through the windows and steal the real children, then feed on the back of the mothers’ necks for a few weeks. (Query: it’s heavily implied that changelings only feed on women. Does this mean that the children of gay male couples are safe? Duly noted, man.)
Dean preps the weaponry. Just...fire. Lots of fire.
Sam thinks the kids might still be alive somewhere underground. Dean low key flips out about the idea of any of the kids getting snatched and heads straight to Lisa. When Lisa opens the door she looks harried, Dean looks dorky. Awww they’re so cute. (Man, I love Dean and Lisa almost as much as I love Dean and Cas. It doesn’t hurt that Lisa’s smile is like the frickin’ sun.)(Boris: Vigorously nods in agreement.) Dean hands Lisa a credit card and tells them to go on vacation together. Guys, it’s a TOTALLY NORMAL gift for a 9-years-later hookup to give. She asks Dean about the hinky name on the card but then Ben shows up. “Make him go away, Mommy,” says a decidedly chillier Ben. Lisa takes the hint (while Dean’s hunter hackles rise) and the door gets slammed between them.
Awwww shiiiiit, a monster’s got Ben!
Dean stalks around the house, looking for clues. (Again, in the hunting context we’re like okay COOL good job and in the real world context we’d be going SHIT LISA CALL 911 he’s outside of your house!!!) Dean finds the telltale blood on the sill. Ben’s done got snatched. Dean races to the car. It’s not blood on the sill, he tells Sam. It’s….
“Red dirt,” Sam concludes as we scene jump to one of the buildings under construction. (SIDE NOTE dudes I used to live near Sedona AZ the capitol of red dirt and when dried it did not look like blood. What I’m saying is, someone get some decontamination crews to this neighborhood. It’s a biohazard zone. No wonder property’s so cheap.)
They investigate the house. Dean finds the basement, hears a noise, and heads on down. He finds trapped kids (including Ben) and tells him that he’ll be free soon. Meanwhile, Sam (Sam is here too!) gets confronted by the nosy realtor with the muffin baskets. Downstairs, Dean discovers the caged realtor in the basement. Wherps. Sam’s smart, though, so instead of getting talked into buying a house he whips out his trusty business card.
Fake Ben gets all up in Lisa’s grill, asking for food, so Lisa offers him pizza. Fake Ben agrees and Lisa notices his reflection in her shiny coffee table. Yeesh.
Lisa may be having a shit time, but Dean’s enjoying his father(????) & son bonding moment as they work together to free and comfort the other children. Dean busts a hole through the window and gets everyone out. Just then momma changeling appears. Dun dun DUN.
Lisa confronts fake Ben. “I love you, mommy,” he says in response. Lisa grabs her keys and gets the fuck out of town, but there are kids in her lawn ready to go all Children of the Corn on her. She heads back inside.
Momma changeling gives a good fight, beating the shit out of Dean and Sam. All the while, Ben calmly gets all the kids out. Sam blasts the changeling mom with fire and the fire cascades to all the changeling children. They erupt into flame and ash, including the ones tormenting Lisa and Friend of Lisa.
Lisa races out as the sun rises and greets Ben joyfully. They head inside, Lisa sets Ben up with food and headphones, and then Dean fills her in on his line of work.
Dean asks one more time about Ben’s parentage and Lisa sets him straight (OR DOES SHE). She took a blood test...it was a dude she met in a bar. “I swear you look disappointed,” she says as Dean looks low key devastated.
“Some stuff happened to me recently, and, uh. Anyway, a guy in my situation. You start to think, you know. I'm gonna be gone one day, and what am I leaving behind besides a car?”
Dean. You’re breaking my fucking heart. Lisa asks him to stay for a while and he gets the fuck out instead because he doesn’t think he deserves good things. (weeps some more)

I uncurl from my ball of sorrow to recap the Sam is Here Too ™ portion of the episode. He’s checking up on his mom’s friends. They’re all dead. He meets Ruby and she tells him they’re dead because of the Yellow Eyed Demon. Sam demands to know who she really is and she goes all black eyed on him. Ruby insists that she’s on his side. “It’s all about you,” she tells him. She’s just trying to figure out how all the puzzle pieces fit together. And if he plays ball, she’ll help him save Dean.

What are your headcanons for British Columbia?
ok so disclaimer here is that i’m a fake british columbian even though i kind of sort of live there, i live on the island and the majority of my bc friends are from the coast and not the interior so most of what i can say about the interior is ‘i have driven through it a lot’ but i’ll do my best.
- on that subject bc is like… layers of depth that most people don’t see. lots of people just brush her off as a flaky ditz who is never paying attention to the rest of the country but i seriously feel she’s got a lot of Depth and a lot of spiky barbed inner monologues. She’s really geographically and emotionally impenetrable and doesn’t really let you in on what she is thinking or will do something unpredictable.
- like i don’t think people really get how contradictory bc is? its a climate of extremes that has a reputation for being mellow, its a place that is “liberal” where the Liberals are in reality worse than the alberta pcs (LOL WHAT AN ELECTION I TELL YOU), it’s a place that’s one of the resource-richest provinces in the country that makes it impossible for its own citizens to afford… etc. I think a lot about things like this when I think about how her personality works- she’s not necessarily finicky, she’s layered.
- bc has a reputation for being different than the rest of canada and its absolutely true. like as the second most western province we still tend to think of ab/sk and maybe mb depending on our mood as ‘western canada’ and bc as ‘and bc’. She’s the sort of person who Always goes her own way and makes her decisions on her own, she’s more outward looking than the others for sure.
- worst driver. Hands down. Terrible. everyone blames AB for it but it’s her, the only thing ralphie is worse at is parking.
- if she can’t see the mountains she feels naked and exposed and can’t stay too far out of sight of the mountains or she goes Nuts
- she probably lives in a relatively modern and expensive house- everything is immaculate, she has a lot of interesting artefacts and souvenirs around her house, her garden is manicured and perfect and everything smells like cedar but it also gives you the distinct impression that no one actually lives there. Looks more like a gallery because she’s trying to support local (esp indigenous) artists. no basement. cute car port and shed rather than a garage.
- she finds emotional attachments really Difficult. like it’s just genuinely hard to tell whether she likes you or not because she can be kind of backhanded or condescending even when she’s expressing genuine fondness. She makes a huge deal about being a romantic place but doesn’t really fall for anyone easily, either she gets bored or she doesn’t want to lose a friendship or w/e
- like for someone who makes a big deal about being compassionate for animals and nature she really doesn’t feel that much compassion for people- or rather, when she does it’s not easy for her to express to them
- There’s an ongoing joke that BC stands for “Bring Cash” and its absolutely true. If you want a chance with her/to impress her you have to spend like you mean it. Its not that she’s high mainten- yes she is definitely high maintenance
- Makes a big deal out of being interesting and fun but when she’s at home alone she just sits around in her underwear under a huge pile of blankets/a snuggie and watches the Beachcombers. possibly while high.
- ‘is this matcha’ ‘does it have matcha in it’ [pouring sugar in her tea] ‘matcha is like… sooo good for you… i don’t even [pouring milk and honey in her tea] like this is just so refreshing you know [more sugar]
- you know that scene in scott pilgrim where ramona reads out her entire tea cupboard to him and some of them sound made up, that’s bc. come to think of it she really is a manic pixie dream girl but one who is merciless and apathetic and could probably easily wreck you
- tea snob, the sort of person who is like ‘coffee is like so bad for you it stresses you out man’ but also a coffee snob who can’t wake up in the morning without it so its a lose-lose situation for you
- definitely volunteered with greenpeace in the 70s lol
- ‘ya i live in vancouver’ - actually lives in like PoCoMo or whatever
- once called the spoiled child of confederation and she hasn’t let that go, she probably has it embossed on a trophy somewhere in her giant collection of trophies that she has on display in the fame gua of her perfect feng shui living room
- she only makes a big deal out of ‘canadian’ things when it makes her money, she actually feels very cut off from the rest of the country but will Always appear immediately when there is a competition of any kind because she’s The Best.
- grew up extremely fast. in my mind she represents ‘ (lower) mainland bc’ while the island i represent with victoria as shorthand- they had to move in together to save money and both of them really dragged their feet about it. She’s still kind of wary about the island ditching for independence again but doesn’t REALLY take it seriously. Is the youngest of the provinces but does her best not to act like it.
- actually super confrontational like she will be doing yoga on a rock as the tide is coming in and be One With The Universe and you could be walking past her and say ‘actually vancouver’s kind of overrated’ and she will dive in the ocean and rise out of the water covered in sea onions and seaweed and barnacles like a horror movie and be like “wHaT dId YoU SaY AbOuT mE!”
- exactly the sort of person to get a tattoo in another language that vaguely is correct but actually grammatically Off like… you grow up with people like Amor de Cosmos and this is what you get
- not actually gluten or lactose intolerant, just likes being morally superior (’and like… almond milk just tastes better yknow more wholesome’)
- that person who always ends up with people mooching off her or crashing at her place- she doesn’t actually mind too much, she’s just frustrated that people only seem to come bother her when it’s convenient for them. But she doesn’t like to admit when she’s feeling lonely so i mean… xD
- also really into ghosts and spooky things. she goes along with bert/yk to hunt sasquatsch and externally rolls her eyes the whole time but tbh she has honestly seen sasquatsch like 10 times and has all the blurry photos to prove it. Same with ogopogo.
- goes into woowoo new age stores and spends hours looking at tarot decks and crystals and incense. judges you based on your astrological signs.
- has proposed moving in with kate like 3 times but gets rejected every time lmao
- firm believer that tea solves everything. emotionally compromised? hot leaf juice. emotionally compromised during summer? cold leaf juice. eat an entire fruit. eat ten fruits. decorate with kale. eat the decorative kale. got herbs? make rosemary tea. stain all your dishes yellow and make turmeric tea. literally down an entire jar of capers, idgaf.
- she likes to make her backpack as heavy as she can, blast her own music so everyone can hear it, then schlep it all up a mountain. set everything down and turn it off, sit high up and alone with her little hibachi grill and eat salmon, watch the ravens. paint something on a giant leaf. smoke a joint. look at the ocean. whatever.
- i think exercise is her replacement for emotionally connecting with people. she rides her bike white knuckled through the rain up a hill and loses feeling in her fingers and zooms back down. Pushes herself to adrenaline rush, always trying to get better, better.
- i say a lot about her not really connecting with people but at the same time shes the sort of person that… when you’re in crisis mode and you’re under a literal or a figurative avalanche, she will spot you, grab you and pull you straight up out of it with one arm by the scruff of your neck. She’s actually really generous at heart but has just become kind of closed off after being taken advantage of too many times. Will take you home and dry you off and make a big meal for you and wait for you to tell her what’s wrong.
- I don’t know if she actually owns a boat-boat, but definitely kayaks a lot. long boards. surfs.
- hates BC ferries with an unholy passion, like… that’s a way to trigger a rant right there
- slaps I
- her low tolerance for cold is exaggerated. her high tolerance for cold + wet should be Feared.
- has her hidden rednecky side. makes a big deal out of being vegan and w/e but does go hunting and dirt biking once in a while, knows her way around a stick shift etc. Dunno if she really drives that much - probably has invested in electric cars before but kind of dissatisfied with how much she can actually do with them re: steep hills, roadtrips, etc.
- has had to deal with a lot of paranoia, racism, etc in the past that she struggles to reconcile. really learning to take pride in herself again, i think she’s chinese/british, yeah but there’s also some first nations heritage too that factors into her mixed identity.
- in official positions she might skip french and go straight to mandarin/canto if the job is bilingual, not that she doesnt like french she just Forgets xD.
i feel like i’ve been talking all day so i’ll stop there but feel free to ask for elaboration or something i guess
