Thanksgiving (2019) by Rachel Long
In Episode 199, Rachel shares a poet recommended by a listener, Milo Rey!
Rachel: In fact, Rachel Long is actually a founder of a poetry collective called the Octavia Poetry Collective for Women of Colour. She talks a lot about the experience of being what she calls, like, both the invisible and also hyper visible.
[...] And so that poem kind of gets at that a little bit, of just this idea of like trying to exist in this space and be what somebody else wants you to be, you know? And I mean, obviously I don’t have that exact experience, but that experience of being with somebody that you feel is different than you, and trying to just keep everything unique about yourself, like, hidden.
This poem always manages to catch me off guard; it's title and opening lines seem to be guiding the reader towards a peaceful, and even tender, road. But suddenly, you finish reading it and realise that, without even noticing it, you'd been steered right to the edge of a cliff. It's such a quiet, heartbreaking poem.
If you’d like to hear more about the author's experience, you can do so here: In Relationship with the Orbeez, from 23:38 - 35:00

Sick beat, dude. Absolutely diseased beat, bro. That beat is a plague that will devour the Earth. None shall remain. (Whispering) None shall remain.

Seeing it Through
I should really go to bed...
Three option?
Option 1 is bad... option 2 is also bad... Is option to just do nothing?
It is... That sounds like it would be bad too...
All of these options suck so hard!
These are all very good questions.
I'm very glad these guys are finally accepting that it's not just Jon's fault that everything went to shit. Everyone here had some hand in what happened in the end. Even if it was only the act of doing nothing.
This is another good question.
Surely this world can't be the only one where the fears have power like this. I legit believe that the entities gained power through mass fears. Which is to say that there's no way the fears don't exist elsewhere. I think the only thing this act is doing is simply opening the door between worlds and connecting the fears to all other versions of themselves.
Wow! Jon! You want to choose to kill everyone!
All of this is bad...
"Nice lighter." Such a weird line in hindsight... wait, is Georgie taking the lighter?
These two saying they love each other makes me very happy. But also sad.
Damn, Martin listened to all the tapes and still fell in love with him?!
Jon! You were literally manipulated to do it!
I have so many feelings about everything going on right now!
Damn, Martin is volunteering to do the murder. Fun...

Episode 199: Mouri Kogoro, Suspect (Part 1)
Eri Kisaki and her lawyer buddies happen to be staying at the same hotel as Mouri, Ran, and Conan. They all go out for drinks, and Mouri gets drunk, and then disappears. While looking for him in the hotel, they ask Flippy-Long-Dress if she’s seen him, and she denies it. But once they leave, she smiles maniacally, and talks to herself about how she’s going to sully Eri’s reputation and become Queen, by pretending to have slept with Mouri. Then her doorbell rings again. This time it’s Anokata, but she’s not surprised to see him. Later they discover that Mouri’s cellphone is inside Flippy’s room. They break in and find Flippy dead, and Mouri is the only plausible suspect, because the room was bolted shut.

It’s that time of year again. The days are getting shorter—minute by minute, hour by hour. Decade by millennia. The darkness grows ever closer. And pumpkin spice lattes are back!

"I love the moments where Boimler and Ransom accidentally blurt out their attraction to Mariner in front of her mom, calling her hot and nasty and saying they got a hard-on for her. Cracks me up every time."
