keeping a diary is so much FUN and helpful not only for my mental health but for overall GIRLINESS. as someone who's been keeping a diary consistently for two years now, i'll be giving some diary resources and tips on how to get started and maintain a diary.

WHY ITS FUN TO HAVE A DIARY ;

i love to read past entries bcuz first, im rly rly funny and its fun to go back and read what i was writing about at that time and just reminisce on points in my life. it makes for great entertainment and it showcases growth that i've made and the way that my character changed or grew.

its been a game-changer for my mental health bcuz i have a little outlet where i can be completely transparent and just yap endlessly with no one to stop me or invade on my privacy.

TOOLS FOR A PHYSICAL DIARY ;

fluffy pink and purple pens

yummy scented glitter pens

past-able things (examples include ; cut outs from magazines, photos that you've taken and printed, stickers, memo sheets)

some print able and past able resources ;

decoration for the actual diary like glitter, stickers, ribbons, and frills.

for the actual diary , look for diaries that are pretty (for example, fluffy diaries)

TOOLS FOR A DIGITAL DIARY ;

a good writing tool (FOR MY DIARY, I USE NOTION)

cute headers + photos to insert into my diary, i find all of my photos on pinterest.

digital diaries are easily a lot less work then physical diaries which is why i keep a digital diary but keeping a physical diary is SO much fun too.

THE ACTUAL WRITING PART ;

everyone will write in their diaries in a different way based on whatever feels the most natural, but for me i start off my entries with "dear diary" and then write in the journal as though i was writing to a friend so its super comfy and relaxed.

i actually have a couple of writing outlets, so i have a journal and i have a diary. my diary is mostly for my day-to-day life. its updated 2x a week (tuesdays and thursdays) in my journal, thats less about my day to day and just random things i wanna write about.

the cool thing about most creative processes like drawing or writing or game dev is that you can just start whenever. the barrier to entry is way, way lower than whatever you think it is and there's thousands of free resources and tools out there online now.

if you wanna start drawing, a pencil and paper is fine! if you wanna start writing, google docs or even a notepad works! if you wanna start making games, gamemaker and ren'py and twine and bitsy are all free game engines!

you can make whatever you want. you don't even have to finish it or show anyone. but if you want to make something, you can get started whenever.

#it's just so great to see the barrier for entry getting lower and lower each year #more people should be able to create stuff easier #and more resources becoming readily available are great

#shining nikki #dress up #not an actual entry because the game hates me #I also discovered that the game seems to think I don't have enough storage to download the resource packs #(after I was told to use the repair button AGAIN and it didn't solve anything)#even though before the repair it was fine on storage #and I looked and I have over 30GB of space on my phone and the game already downloaded 20GB when I got the lack of storage message #so idk why it seems to think it needs over 50GB to download the rest of the game #and now the shell heart bloom piece is neon pink instead of normal textures #just #really enjoying the player experience rn

dsm really is like well about every other PD is determined by abuse, neglect, poor relationships and bad experiences as a child, and trauma. narcissistic personality disorder is largely defined by a desperate terrified need to never seem weak or like a failure and hunger for praise and approval. who tf knows what causes it tho

#vic talks #was reading the dsm-v-tr for character reasons and of course had to check out my own entry #which is. not very good #'pwNPD are soooo entitled and arrogant and they think they're so SPECIAL and you'll probably notice them #because they're huge jerks. anyway their actions stem from a feeling of utter emptiness #an inability to sustain their own self-worth and vicious self-criticism. did we mention #they're more likely than other disorders to commit suicide successfully? like with a plan?#anyway those who relate to them usually find them emotionally cold or disinterested and they're so invested in status amirite'#'they often usurp special privileges and resources they think they deserve' <- me stealing granola bars from work as a teen #i mean at least there's acknowledgement of the internal side of things #and there's a small note of 'often they have low empathy but they can have cognitive empathy'#but it feels like it meshes awkwardly with the 'symptom: HUGE ASSHOLES ALL THE TIME ugh they're probably really annoying. we don't know y'#side of things #anyway much love to the HPDs (also no speculation on Y Are They Like This)#and my ASPDs (must suck to have the Is A Criminal diagnosis)#very happy that my BPDs are getting a bit more fleshed out sympathetic stuff in their entry even tho you still deal with lots of shit

now that i have tampermonkey ive spent the past like hour trying to figure out how to use it to update the dark mode palette to include the navy again because i hate that it's just black. i looked at tumblr's CSS and literally the dark mode palette takes the "navy" variable and just sets it to 0, 0, 0 AKA black. i can edit it in the inspector (which is how i know exactly what they did) but i haven't figured out tampermonkey syntax/functionality to the extent i know how to script it to do this. this is a reasonable rabbit hole to be going down 30 minutes after i am supposed to be in bed

#like goddamn this UI update is so bad im learning more about web development to try and revert it #also any resources on tampermonkey helps BTW i dont know how to use it to update CSS variables if thats even possible #i might have to make my own variable and manually tell it in every reference to the old one to use mine instead but that seems wrong #anyway i am taking a metaphorical knife to this website #like the dark mode palette entries for navy and other color variables is what i want to update but i cant figure out how to do that #maybe i need to make my own stylesheet with its own set of variables and tell tumblr to load that sheet instead of the one it normally does #which is still a thing i don't know the proper syntax for so.

Truly amazing to me how people bagged on Avatar for having 'no fandom' for years and yet when i write two fics in the week after i saw the film they get a higher engagment than any other work ever has. it's been an incredibly nice experiance

This includes anthology, compilation, repackage, single, soundtrack, and studio albums, extended plays, digital extended plays, digital singles, mixtapes, studio and live cover songs, and unofficial adapted, advertisement, and original songs. Note that some songs were released on other platforms prior to official release on YouTube, so some songs may appear to be out of order (e.g., "Born Singer"). Audio-only videos were chosen for ease of listening, but some songs only appear in a music or performance video. Also, some songs are missing because they are not officially available on YouTube (i.e., hidden tracks such as "바다").

I was saying this to remi but I wonder whether Vash and Nai actually are identical twins/how much that concept can even be applied to them. Because Vash specifically told Meryl they were. (And he definitely wasn't being entirely honest during that conversation I think, but that's kind of beside the point.) Obviously they are not visually identical but this could be down to like developmental variation/phenotypic expression as well as stylistic choices on a meta level. But the way their abilities and natures are shown to be starkly different, with Vash being the more outwardly "human" of the two, needing to eat unlike most plants, is interesting. Esp in relation to Conrad's dialogue about creating humans that don't need food or water and can withstand the desert heat

What bout the clans making jerky like they could cut thin pieces of meat off pray and laying it out to dry

I've gotten this suggestion a couple of times so I'll promise you and everyone else that I'll definitely do this one!

It's just a matter of structuring it... in its most basic version, making jerky would just be a repeat of the Dried Minnows entry (sun or wind drying). So to avoid redundancy, I'll be showing you how the cats can make a smoker.

And then there's the rub, because I could just do ThunderClan Jerky, or I could make it more of an entry on the different types of smokers each Clan prefers, or I could do ThunderClan's favorite smoker construction using Jerky as the headliner and then show a smoked dish from each clan...

Much to think about. But, I will be showing how jerky is made. One way or another jerky will come.
