"What the fuck, Emmeline?" Lily held out the stack of exam answers she had just found in her bag, less than a minute after Emmeline had gone in there to borrow her pen.
Emmeline backed against the wall, folding her arms, and frowning as if she hadn't done anything.
Lily slammed the papers onto the desk, "God, what is your fucking problem with me? You keep doing these petty little schemes, and for what? To get my prefect position revoked? Do you honestly care that much about a stupid school role?"
Emmeline walked forwards, shoving Lily backwards, "You don't even care? Being a prefect is one of the best stepping stones to getting into a high position in the ministry! Dumbledore, the most powerful man in the magical world, writes to your future employers on your behalf! God, you could do anything with his endorsement! And you're just wasting it! It should've been me, Lily! Not you!"
Lily sneered, "Oh come of it, Em. You barely passed half your O.W.L's, and aren't exactly a role model with those anger issues of yours."
"You stole my future! Do you even know how hard I've been working my entire life? I had a plan! And you've destroyed it with your stupid, perfect little self."
"We're 16! We've barely even started our lives!"
Emmeline huffed, "Exactly! I've barely even started and you've already come barraging in, stopping me from ever getting an order of merlin."
Lily grabbed Emmeline by the wrist, pushing her into the door, the door handle digging into Emmeline's back, "Oh my god, Em, you're so conceited. You honestly had no hope of that before you even met me."
"You're such a bitch!" Emmeline spat, trying to move away from the door.
"Better than being nothing", Lily retored, holding Emmeline by the shoulders.
Emmeline lifted up an arm, punching Lily in the face. Lily immediately fought back, digging her nails into Emmeline' upper arm.
"Stop with these stupid little schemes. You're never going to be a prefect."
Emmeline pushed forwards, pressing her lips again Lily's.
"I have to", She breathed out, "I have to win."
Lily scoffed, before slowly kissing Emmeline again, and biting down on her lip. Blood poured out of Emmeline's bottom lip, and she raised a hand to wipe it away.
Lily stared at her roommate, "Life isn't won through academic achievements. There's more to life than a dumb shiny medal."
Emmeline spoke through the blood in her mouth, sweat dripping from her skin and Lily's perfume seeping inside of her.
"Not to me."
