Klaus had noticed your arrival in New Orleans straight away, after all, it was his city, and he was the King of it, or so he liked to think.
Something about your piercing eyes which were always filled with curiosity and wonder as you wandered the city full of supernaturals, had caught his attention.
The city could get windy at times and he loved watching as you made your way through the French Quarter, your shiny locks swinging in the wind.
Klaus had thought he had been very stealthy, however, he was not.
You’d always find him not too far from you, lurking in the shadows, it really should’ve creeped you out that some hybrid had been following you albeit it was the opposite.
You found it comforting in a way, knowing someone was always looking out for you.
Elijah, knew you were Klaus's current infatuation, so after a few months of suffering and having to watch Niklaus practically stalk you, he had decided he would introduce himself to you, seeing as he’d seen you around as well.
You thought it was by chance that you’d run into the Elijah Mikaelson, however, it was not. Elijah had figured out your routine and purposely ran into you on your daily stop at the cafe you had been working at.
Elijah hurriedly walked into the cafe after you had been in there for 10 minutes, as he had seen you talking to your coworkers. You had accidentally spilled your coffee all over his crisp suit, your face besmirched with nothing other than horror.
Your mouth had been agape, before you had finally shaken out of your daze, “Oh my god, I am so sorry! I swear you came out of nowhere, here, let me help you.” You quickly rambled.
“Don’t worry about it, I didn’t much care for this suit anyways,” He assured you, as you frantically patted napkins against the material of the suit in an attempt to dry it.
He placed his hand against yours to stop you, “It’s quite alright…” He said, waiting for you to fill in your name for him.
“Y/n, you’re the infamous Elijah Mikaelson,” You responded.
“Indeed, I am, Y/n.” He said, a charming smile on his face.
“You Mikaelsons are awfully famous around here… huh,”
“Yes, our family has some history in New Orleans, we practically built the city,”
“Wow, here, let me buy you a coffee or something to make up for your destroyed suit, although I’m sure it costs much more than a 5-dollar coffee,” You laughed.
“Well, I’ll gladly take the coffee,”
The both of you had settled into a conversation, as you strolled about the Quarter.
Elijah had been telling you all about the supernatural history of New Orleans, seeing as you had told him you knew about vampires, wolves, and witches, including how you knew he and his family were the Originals.
You had gestured to your vervain ring, as you had explained your numerous encounters with various supernatural beings.
You had even gotten talking about hobbies, and how you quite enjoyed writing, which had prompted a proposal from Elijiah, “It’s quite interesting that you mention that, my brother Niklaus is in desperate need of an editor or typist, he’s got a few things in the works, I’m sure he’d love your assistance.”
“Oh, I’m not sure I’d be much help,”
“I assure you he’d deeply appreciate it, and I’m sure you’re quite the novelist yourself,” He sang your praises, and you gave in.
When you first met Niklaus he tried to keep his guard up around you, trying to come off as intimidating, however, his plan had backfired.
“Y’know sometimes when I walk through the quarter, for some reason, I just feel eyes on me, like someone’s watching me, hiding in the shadows. Do you ever feel like that?” You’d told the hybrid.
His face slightly twitched before he quickly hid it with a smirk on his full lips, “Love, I’m Niklaus Mikaelson, I’ve always got eyes on me, I have an exponential amount of enemies that’d love to get me when I’m vulnerable.”
The more time the two of you spent together, the more you somehow broke down the hybrid’s concrete walls.
Niklaus may have been stubborn, but so were you.
“Niklaus, you’re writing is exceptional, you don’t need my help, so why do you insist that I help you edit your work?”
“Love, my writing is exceptional because you edit it.”
“Nonsense. You know, with the amount of time we spend together, you’d think I’d know more about you, I mean I feel like you practically know everything about me…”
Eventually, Niklaus opened up to you about everything, from the years of abuse he suffered at the hand of his father, to his deep fear of abandonment, how he’d always felt odd due to being a “bastard” child.
You knew Nik had flaws, however there was something about him that pulled you in, maybe it was his dedication to his family and their long promise of always and forever.
It was something you wish your family had, that kind of closeness, that no matter what they did, you’d always go back to each other, however, your family was far from that.
From his insistent paranoia to his anger issues, you’d still fallen for him.
Secretly he felt the same, your outer and inner beauty, kindness, and caring personality had made him wrapped around your finger.
He desperately tried to hide it but failed.
Whenever you’d leave, he’d insist on taking you home, to ensure you’d made it safely, as well as insisting you texted him when you were safely inside your apartment.
Eventually, it came to the point where you’d see each other every day, Niklaus often stopping by your work for a cup of his usual coffee. It had gotten to the point where your coworkers had thought he was your boyfriend, which you’d always deny.
However, there was a twinge in your heart that deeply wanted a relationship with the infamous hybrid.
Everyone could see that you both were head over heels in love with each other but the two of you, whenever anyone said anything you both denied what was right in front of you.
“You’ve truly lost your mind, Rebekah, there’s no way she feels any sort of way for me. She’s too kind. Too pure.”
“Yeah right, like Klaus Mikaelson has feelings for me!” You had laughed.
What finally changed the dynamic of your relationship was when you had been kidnapped by one of Klaus’s enemies.
You had been held hostage and tortured for days, before Klaus finally found you in the abandoned warehouse.
He had torn up the city looking for you, whilst threatening witches to do locator spells for him.
When he came to rescue you, you watched as he murdered your captors in cold blood.
He freed you from the ropes which held you, blood besmirching his face and clothes, as his eyes that glowed yellow returned to their usual blue color.
He pulled you into a tight embrace, clinging to you as he muttered various apologies, from being sorry for getting you kidnapped to having to see him end your captor's lives.
You simply gave him a weak smile, hands on his face, you wiped the blood from the corner of his mouth before smashing your lips against his.
He returned the kiss with fervor, before pulling away.
He opened his eyes, “We shouldn’t start this, Y/n, I don’t want to endanger you any more than I already have.”
After that Niklaus had kept his distance from you, however, returned to keeping an eye on you from the shadows.
You had had enough.
You had stormed into the compound yelling and demanding Klaus to come out. Once you had you’d told him off about how he had no right to decide what was best for you, seeing as you were a grown woman who could make her own decisions.
“Who are you to decide what’s best for me Klaus?! I am in love with you and I don’t care if that put’s me in danger!”
It felt like hours had passed as you and Niklaus shouted back and forth, voices echoing throughout the compound for Rebekah and Elijah to hear.
Somehow Klaus had come to the realization that you were more stubborn than him. He murmured a “Bloody hell,” before he shut you up with a kiss.
From then on, you and Klaus had begun dating.
You and Klaus were inseparable.
He always wanted to be near you, in order to protect you, and if he couldn’t he’d order Elijah, Rebekah, Marcel, or someone to guard you when he couldn’t.
He’d constantly surprise you with random gifts such as flowers, “Just because,”.
Klaus would always spoil you, and always insist that he pay for everything, “Love, you’re a queen, and deserve to be treated like it.”
Taking you on random dates, spontaneous trips.
Not long after you began dating, you’d moved into the compound, Klaus no longer wanting you to be living in your apartment by yourself.
Depending on your hair type: Nik would learn how to braid, after you’d complain about your arms aching after having finished doing your own box braids or cornrows /// having to braid your hair before you sleep so you wouldn’t get split ends or tangles in the morning.
He’d always deny it but he secretly loved cuddling, especially when he was the small spoon.
Constantly having to be touching you, whether it be an arm around your waist, his palm against your thigh, holding hands.
Learning to cook your favorite meal.
Waking up each morning to your favorite morning drink on your bedside table.
Catching him watching you as you applied your makeup, “I can’t help it, love, it’s not my fault you’re so gorgeous.”
Always wanting your attention, “Love, are you listening to me?”
“Of course, I am, lovey.”
Needing to have one of your AirPods in, so he could listen to your music as well.
Countless nights where the both of you would just stay up talking about anything and everything.
If you wear glasses/contacts, he’d love when you wore your glasses over your contacts.
Whenever you would do some self-care such as face masks, he’d always want to participate as well, “Darling, just because I’m an immortal hybrid doesn’t mean that I don’t need to take care of my skin, I mean this isn’t just immortality, it’s SPF as well.”
Whenever he was stressed he’d love it when you’d play with his hair, it always soothed him and melted his stress.
When he’s upset he’d take some time to himself not wanting to lash out at you.
You and Rebekah were the best of friends and loved teasing Klaus together.
You’d eventually learn that Elijah had set you up, because Klaus had never really been looking for an editor or typist.
“Elijah! I can’t believe this,” You laughed.
Whenever Nik would wake up from a nightmare, you’d be right there for him, placing soothing kisses on his shoulder to comfort him.
You would be the first to say the L word, it had been after you and Nik had been dating for almost a year.
You always knew you had strong feelings for Nik, however, they were really brought to light when you’d gotten extremely sick, and Nik spent every day at your bedside taking care of you.
You had been slightly delirious but you meant every word.
Nik had been laying next to you, the both of you facing each other after he had just made you your favorite soup.
Your hand reached for his own, clasping it. His blue eyes met your own, “I love you, Niklaus Mikaelson.”
It had left him slightly shocked, his mouth slightly agape, before a large dimpled grin spread across his face, “I love you too, Y/n Y/l/n.”
You both loved each other immensely and would do anything for each other.

Can You See The Lights? ☾ Elijah Mikaelson
You can only see color in the places where your soulmate has been/touched
It wasn’t weird. Right? Your soulmate just...traveled a lot. You had seldom been somewhere that said soulmate hadn’t already been to. And that was saying something. You had been a study abroad student for three years and everywhere you went across Europe was painted in color. Actually, you couldn’t remember a place that was still in black and white.
Maybe it was a little weird.
You decided that you were going to stay stateside for a while. You had just graduated with a Bachelors in [major], and wanted to take some free time before figuring out the rest of your life. New Orleans was supposed to be fun, right?
****
[1st person POV]
After the longest drive of my life, I decided I needed a drink. I had already stopped at my hotel and unpacked before starting to walk in a random direction, hoping for the best. I was amazed by the colors of everything around. I often sympathize for those who don’t get to see colors as often as I do.
“Rousseau’s.” I read to myself, noticing the vintage looking sign hanging overhead. I shoved the door open and walked in, expecting the rude crowd that was associated with typical bars. That wasn’t the case with this “Rousseau’s” place. The atmosphere was very calm and relaxed and the patrons were mostly spread around. I confidently walked myself to the bar itself and sat down. A pretty blonde soon came over, the name tag on her shirt reading ‘Cami’.
“What can I get ya?” She asked politely.
“Uh...just [drink] please.” I ordered, smiling at her.
“I haven’t seen you before. You either just found this place, which is unlikely, or you just got here.” Cami said, making conversation as she made my drink.
“I’m just here for a little while. I recently graduated and figured I owed myself a vacation. I’m [y/n].” I said, introducing myself as she handed me my now finished drink. She chuckled.
“Well, New Orleans is definitely the place to vacation. Are you here alone?”
“Yep, just me. That’s pretty much how it’s always been.” I trailed off as I awkwardly sipped my drink.
“Just be careful out there. It’s not really safe around here at night. Especially for strangers.” Cami warned me before she left to the other end to serve someone else.
I sat quietly, sipping my drink and people watching, for the next few minutes. I noticed a few of the patrons watching me with less than kind looks in their eyes, and I got the feeling that Cami was more serious than she let on. I was about to leave when the door opened again and two more people walked in. I just happened to over hear a snippet of their conversation and what I did, was concerning.
“Believe me brother. It is no “fluke”; I haven’t experience colors like these in a millennium. My soulmate is here.” I quickly spun my bar stool back around, hoping I hadn’t been noticed. A millennium? Who counts time like that?
“Hey, [y/n], you alright? You look a little sick.” I heard someone say gently. I looked up and made eye contact with Cami. I slowly nodded my head.
“I think I just need some water and a really long nap.” I told her.
“Well now, Camille, let’s not make the poor girl wait. Get her the water before she passes out. She looks positively green.” I jerked up to see the ‘Brother’ that had been previously referred to by the ‘Millennium’ counter. Are you as confused as me? Good, now you know a fraction of how I was feeling. “Are you just going to stare at me? Or would you like to introduce yourself?”
“I-um. That was incredibly rude.” I said, offended. “What makes you think I was just staring at you anyway? Or that I want to introduce myself? It’s the 21st century, why don’t you go first. With all the room in this bar, you still chose the stool next to me. Why is that?”
“Feisty. I’m Klaus. And it just so happens that you are in my stool.” He introduced, smirking at me.
Before I had time to smart off again, another voice replied, making me shudder. “Now, Brother, why don’t you leave the poor girl alone.” Klaus chuckled and shook his head.
“Very well. I will see you some other time, [y/n]. Goodbye, Cami.” He waved shortly as he walked back over to a table in the corner. I finally turned to look at my ‘savior’.
“I really didn’t need help. I’ve dealt with plenty of men worse than him.” I said, crossing my arms over my chest.
He chuckled as he sat on the opposite side his brother had been. “Trust me, Love. My brother was simply in a good mood. My name is Elijah.” He introduced, offering his hand to me. I took the chance to look him over; a 3-piece tailored suit complete with handkerchief, perfectly groomed hair, and just the hint of a smile on the corner of his mouth.
I nodded my head. “And I’m so over tonight.” I told him, a tight smile on my face, as I started to get up. “Goodnight, Cami. I’ll see you around!” I called to her, receiving a small wave in return.
“Wait. At least let me walk you home. It’s not safe here after dark.” Elijah said, jumping up after me. I hesitated, looking between him and the door. I didn’t trust him, but I didn’t quite know this place like I hoped to.
“Please, [y/n]. It’ll make me feel better. It’s not everyday a stranger comes in here that I like. And, truthfully, Elijah isn’t a bad guy.” Cami said, quickly getting involved in the situation. I sighed and looked towards the door again.
“Fine. Only this once and only because you asked.” I told her. She smiled and thanked me. I turned towards Elijah and motioned my arm towards the door for him to lead the way. He smiled kindly at me but simply held the door for me. I huffed and walked out into the quickly cooling night.
“So, [y/n], what brings you to New Orleans?” Elijah asked, keeping his gaze forwards. I glanced at him before diverting my own gaze in the same direction.
“Freedom, I suppose. And you?” I returned, my hands stuffed in my pockets. The night air was slowly permeating through my thin outer shirt.
“A responsibility to my brother, I suppose.” A smirk grew across his face as he turned my answer around on me. I crossed my arms and faced away from him. He chuckled at my childish actions. “I believe you would get along well with my dear sister. She has never taken well to teasing, either.”
“Yeah, well...whatever.” I failed to come up with a reply and instead stuck my tongue out at him. We continued in a comfortable silence from there for several minutes. I soon began to shiver. Before I knew it, a large jacket was begin draped over my shoulders. I looked up into Elijiah’s eyes and something felt...different.
“It’s you.” He murmured, staring at me in awe.
“Huh?” I asked, cuddling into the insanely oversized, amazingly comfortable coat adorning my frame. He continued to just stare at me, causing me to squirm under his gaze. “Okay, look, this is getting uncomfortable. Yes, I am me. I’m not sure what this whole, “you”, business is about but -”. Before I could finish my rant, Elijah grabbed the collar of his jacket and pulled me into a kiss. Then I understood what he meant.
“You’re my soulmate.”
”Wait a minute, how did your brother know my name?"

Enemies Of The State : Dark!Klaroline {1}
summary:
This fiction follows the events of just how Klaus Mikaelson and Caroline Forbes lost everything that tied them to their humanity, leading them into something neither of them can come back from.
————
{10 years ago}
“To a Klaus free life!”
Caroline idily stood by in the corner as she watched her friends cheer in the name of freedom. That twisted heart ache came rushing back as soon as she had pushed it to the side, and she could think of a thousand other places she’d rather be.
Elena looked happy, at least. Her friends were safe, at least.
So why did she feel so guilty about wanting what she did? Her eyes shone with numbness at the celebration that came with his disappearance, taking place in front of her as if her friends were oblivious to her emotions about him.
But they are caroline thought bitterly to herself. Klaus was gone and he was never coming back. She yearned to return to her normal, blissful state of mind more than anything, but she couldn’t find comfort in anything, not even in her friends happiness. What was it about this ruthless, cold-hearted hybrid killer that she had found so endearing?
“Caroline!” Elena’s voice suddenly called out to her, disrupting her thoughts. “Come over here and join the party!”
Caroline shone with a smile as fake as ever as she made her way towards the kitchen. Empty champagne bottles littered the counter, evidence that everyone was having an awfully good time for all the wrong reasons, in her twisted opinion at least. She felt jealous of her friends having a good time, being in a relieved state of mind. Unlike her, who’s thoughts were only infected with Klaus Mikaelson.
Caroline’s smile was fading as quickly as she had put it on, sipping on a half full champagne bottle that was left of the latter. Stefan Salvatore had noticed her dull expression, quietly approaching her in order to get her to tell him what was wrong. He always saw through her, which she had always hated for this very reason.
Caroline felt a hand on her shoulder, turning around to see the kind hearted salvatore brother. “So are you going to tell me what’s wrong?” Stefan questioned her with a raised eyebrow. “It’s supposed to be a celebration, y’know”
The blonde vampire quickly concealed her expression with a lively smile, erasing any traces of her real emotions that showed so transparently on her face. “I’m just getting used to Klaus finally being out of our lives for good,” Caroline says with her usual bubbly tone. She so desperately wished she sounded genuine enough, you never knew with Stefan. He had a way of seeking out her truth.
But much to her surprise, Stefan gave her a little smile and walked off to the rest of the group. Caroline felt like she stuck out like a sore thumb, this feeling was unnatural to her. She hated it.
So she quickly thought of an excuse to get herself out of this uncomfortably painful situation. My mom’s calling me to come home, you know how she can be haha.
She felt Stefan’s stare when she told Elena just that. He knew she was off, but caroline gave him the benefit of the doubt. She’d deal with him later. This didn’t mean that it was any easier feeling his eyes at the back of her head when she walked out that dreaded door and into the street. She sighed heavily, checking her phone for any signs of him. A text message, a missed call. Nothing.
Caroline just couldn’t take it anymore. She wouldn’t. She shouldn’t have to,
“Fuck this” Caroline said bitterly to herself. She knew what she needed to do to rectify this situation, even if it was the riskiest thing she could do in this position, she just didn’t care.
She hastily dialed the number on her phone, bringing it to her ear and waiting impatiently for a certain blonde vampire to answer.
“Whatever it is, i don’t have time for it” Rebekah Mikaelson’s vivid accent suddenly cut through. Caroline felt her heart race as she thought through exactly what she wanted to say.
“I need to see you” She hesitated, hearing Rebekah impatiently sighing on the other end, signalling her to go on. Caroline took a deep breath before adding the next part.
“It’s about your brother”
———
Klaus Mikaelson had just only entered New Orleans when he wished he had never stepped foot in it in the first place.
“I will kill her and everyone she’s ever met” He growled at Elijiah, who seemed as distressed as ever.
Sophie Deveraux was indeed, plotting his death. Using spells from the Original Witch’s grimore to find a way to bring down the immortal, all-powerful hybrid. Klaus sought out to put an end to her immediately, but was stopped by his older brother.
“You will do no such thing” Elijiah answers with a controlled tone of voice “I’ll see to it Marcel get the job done”
Klaus did not like other people doing his dirty work for him, especially not in cases involving death. It made him feel invaluable, weak. He revelled in killing his enemies, which meant he would make sure he was going to be the one to spill Sophie Deveraux’s blood, not Marcel. Damn Elijiah or anybody else who told him otherwise.
“I will be the only one to rip out her heart with my bare hands” He hissed, but he had only barely turned around to do just that when Elijiah took hold of his arm with a tight grip. His expression seemed urgent as Klaus gave him his murderous look that he was quite notorious for when things didn’t go his way.
“The witch is linked to Katerina, brother” Elijah says with desperation. “She will die if you lay a hand on her”
Klaus scoffs at Elijah’s hopelessness. He’ll be damned if Katerina Petrova of all people will stand in his way of getting his revenge.
“I could care less about Katerina, brother” He says with a sinister tone, pulling his arm back harshly “That girl continues to be the bane of my existence, good riddance”
With that being said, Klaus turned around once more to make good on what he had said to Elijah. Killing two birds with one stone. He’d be doing his brother a favour, he thought. Katerina will only break his fragile heart as she had done countless times before with different men. This was no different.
Elijah then called out something that would indeed, make his brother take a step back. This was true, since Klaus suddenly halted in the middle of his path of murder.
“I can’t imagine Caroline would enjoy having a stake in her heart, Niklaus” Elijah had said with a sinster tone lacing his words “Then again, she would be a bit pre-occupied being dead to notice”
Klaus turned ever so slowly to face his brother. His face had contorted into a venomous stare, his eyes like daggers as he started into Elijah’s with such hostility that even he took a step back.
“You dare threaten her” Klaus spoke lowly with a murderous tone “You dare threaten her as if i can’t have your rotting body in a casket anytime i choose”
“Your threats towards me have an emptiness to them, Niklaus” Elijah said with unease “You will not kill Katerina if you do not wish for Caroline to die along with her”
Klaus used his unhuman speed to come face to face with him. He hadn’t felt this enraged in quite a while, with his eyes growing dark veins underneath them whilst turning into the golden/yellow many had feared.
“You so much as lay a hand on Caroline” Klaus then came close to his ear, the lapels of his jacket tightly in his fists. “I will ruin you” He calmy said, with revulsion and hostility visibly present in his threat.
The hybrid took a step back then. His brother seemed startled with his words, and Klaus felt as though he should leave him with these words as he flashed away from the scene.
His original plan of murdering the Deveraux witch, and Katherine along with her seemed like a lifetime ago as he stood alone with his thoughts only clouded by Caroline Forbes. Elijah knew what he was doing by threatening one of the only few things that tied him to his wretched humanity.
Klaus himself knew what would happen if Elijah saw to it that Caroline was no longer breathing, and it was for that reason he hoped his threat was menacing enough for him not to. He took a deep breath then, assuring himself that nothing would harm Caroline in the slightest if he had anything to do with it.
The pair of them had no idea of the events that would quite soon occur, and how the aftermath of such events would lead them into something they will never be able to come back from.

A song from my heart
Elijah mikaelson x reader
~You catch Elijah playing piano for you~
Tumblr media
It was late in the afternoon when you came back to the Mikaelson mansion today. You usually never get home later than seven, but today your boss had asked you to stay for extra hours and you accepted. You wondered what Elijah had indulged in while you were absent today. Did Niklaus cause trouble again, or maybe it was Damon and Stephen's time to do something to annoy your original.
You had no way of knowing, but when you opened the front door and came in to hear piano notes in the air, your mind stopped and you breathed shakily. It was honestly quite hard to recall the last time you heard the piano playing in the mansion...Elijah had stopped for almost three years by now and you had to admit missing it quite badly.
To avoid startling him and disrupting his playing, you entered the room as quietly as possible. Slowly, you made your way to the living room and stopped just inside the doorframe. There, you saw his handsome and perfect self seated at the Steinway piano, seemingly unaware of your arrival.
A sweet and happy smile crept on your pinkish lips at the scene, it felt just right to see him like this again and you let your head lay gently against the wooden frame of the large door, just enjoying the view.
Initially, your partner was experimenting with different notes without a clear direction. It was captivating to witness their process of attempting to produce a unified and melodious sound. Despite your curiosity about the final outcome, you refrained from interrupting and potentially hindering their creative process. Instead, you peacefully watched and admired him as he worked. After some time had passed, you came to the realization that your decision had been a wise one, since Elijah start playing the piece he had crafted during your observation for the first time in your presence.
With his eyes closed, he appeared to be playing solely based on the emotions conveyed through his fingertips. The composition he had created was nothing short of a masterpiece - a work of art that left you speechless, with your hand covering your mouth to suppress any sounds that might escape. As you watched Elijah play, a wave of intense emotion washed over you, causing tears to stream down your face. His melodies were so powerful that you found yourself at a loss for words or coherent thoughts. But at that moment, you realized that it didn't matter - what was important was the profound emotional response his music had evoked within you.
You harbor a deep and profound love for your vampire, you love and cherish every single aspect of his being. Elijah was simply the focal point of your universe and you felt an incredible sense of satisfaction being his significant other. As he remains lost in his musical world, you surreptitiously dab away your tears, unable to contain your emotions, and then slowly made your way to him, compelled by an irresistible urge to be closer.
You placed a soft and gentle hand on your husband's shoulder from behind, coming within a centimeter of his body. He tensed up immediately and stopped playing, clearly taken aback by your surprise touch. A small giggle escaped your lips before you kissed his neck tenderly to reassure him.
"It's ok, it's just me Lijah."
Upon hearing your voice, Elijah visibly relaxed, his tense posture softening. The gentle kisses you planted on his neck had a soothing effect on his body, and he slowly pivoted in his piano chair to face you. A sweet smile graced his lips, and his eyes sparkled with adoration and desire as he gazed upon you.
"Well hello sweetheart, what a pleasure to see you finally home."
Elijah spoke with his deep, masculine voice that had the power to make you feel weak in the knees. As he conversed with you, he brought you closer to him and settled you onto his lap, enveloping your waist in his firm embrace.
As he spoke and brought you closer, your face got flustered and you gently touched his cheek with your hand to caress it. A tender and charming smile spread across your face as you gazed at him with great love and loyalty. Elijah was just so extremely attractive and you couldn't resist the urge to kiss him when he looked at you with such intensity. So this is exactly what you did, bringing your lips to his softly to give him a sweet and delicate kiss. The both of you moaned at the contact and he pressed you even more to him feeling the heaviness of your absence all day.
When you both separated from each other after a good reminder of what you both missed so much today, Elijah smirked happily and started playing with your hair, his eyes looking deeply into yours.
"Well, I certainly missed that during the day my perfect princess. "
He said, causing you to chuckle happily, feeling a sense of warmth and pure love knowing that he missed you too. It was just so comforting to know that you weren't alone in this situation.
As you still lay gently on his lap, you decided that since he was playing with your hair, you'd do too. So you moved the hand of yours that was previously on his cheek to his perfectly styled brown hair and stroke your fingers in them, feeling happy and playful to make them a little less perfect.
"I missed it quite badly too Eli. Yet, I'll have to admit that hearing you play piano is something that I missed even more."
You gently conveyed your message to him with a cute smile, followed by a quick kiss on his lips.
Your vampire partner on his side, chuckles lovingly at you, finding your words and ministration terribly sweet and adorable.
"Oh, you do my perfect little princess, well to be totally honest darling, I've dedicated this one for you."
Elijah said with a bright and handsome smile that brought a blush back on your cheeks right away. He kissed both of your cheeks affectionately then before placing a gentle kiss on your forehead.
"I thought about you and your beautiful smiles and shining eyes when you look at me. The way that you speak my name and tell me how much you love me my darling. The melody came without an effort. How could it not when I have a muse like you."
Elijah finished with a lovesick expression on and a sweet passionate smile. It was so deep and so intense to hear him say this to you. It felt good and your heart was bursting within your chest. Honestly words were missing you to express how much you loved him and felt good right now. The only thing that actually seemed to be in your mind and that you manage to say to him was a request to heart your song again.
"Can you play it again for me Lijah?"
Your voice was soft and delicate and it sounded almost like a plea when you asked him to play your song again. Your eyes were sparkling like little comets in the sky and you looked deeply into Elijah's hazelnut pupil.
Your husband's hand came to your cheek gently after your request, a huge satisfied and pleased smile on his lips as he heard you. How could he resist any request you had really? You were his pretty little angel and the most important thing in his life, he would do anything from you.
Without a second tough, Elijah gently turned back to face the piano with you still in his arms. After that, he kissed your neck gently and let his head fall on your shoulder to see the piano adequately. When he was finally placed and settled, his fingers grazed on the notes and he started playing your song again. The only difference however this time, was that he seemingly included details and side part that wasn't there the first time around. The music sounded like the most beautiful of symphony, like a coral of angels. You were absolutely sure that it was the most beautiful thing you've ever heard in your entire life.
You closed your eyes and just let yourself be overwhelm by the emotions and feelings it makes you feel. Your heart was beating strongly and your eyes were shedding happy tears again your back pressing on Elijah's chest even more.
After a little while, his fingers on the notes stopped playing and you felt your heart cry a bit at the loss of music again. Yet, you moved your small and delicate fingers in his as he brought them back around you and tighten them around his. You faced each other again now that he wasn't playing anymore and a deep and powerful love showed in your eyes for him. You laid your forehead fall on his gently, a gentle sigh of pure bliss and happiness leaving your lips.
I love you Elijah Mikaelson...
Elijah smiled affectionately back at you and kissed both your cheek, then he proceed to do the same with your lips.
And I love you my perfect princess.
The pair of you stayed against each other like this for a while, just basking in the love and incommensurable joy you felt with bleach other close. Then, with a soft and gentle voice you asked him something while caressing his cheek again.
Would you teach me to play one day?
Elijah looked at you surprise at first by your demand but quickly, the surprise change to a joy and happiness that brought butterflies in your stomach. God he looked so handsome. His smile was the prettiest thing in the whole world.
Of course I will my love, whatever you want. We have all eternity.
And he was right...you both had eternity to love and cherish each other, what you had right now was only the start of a long and perfect millennia together.

Enemies Of The State : Dark!Klaroline {2}
summary:
This fiction follows the events of just how Klaus Mikaelson and Caroline Forbes lost everything that tied them to their humanity, leading them into something neither of them can come back from.
————
{10 years ago}
Caroline stood outside the Mikaelson mansion with her nerves as worse as she had ever felt them. She felt nostalgic as the memories of the man she was there for in the first place, flooded her mind. He was so good to her, the complete opposite of what others had seen of him. She smiled at one of them, when Klaus had drawn her a picture of herself next to one of his horses. Caroline still kept it secretly hidden in her drawer away from prying eyes.
Rebekah had asked her why she wanted to talk about her brother, and that she wanted ‘nothing to do with him and whatever he has done is non of her concern’ but Caroline wouldn’t take no for an answer, and being who she is, Rebekah had reluctantly agreed to meet her.
The blonde-haired vampire took a deep breath, and hesitantly walked towards the front door of where Rebekah now resided. She knocked on the door before she could think twice of her actions. This was a risk, coming here whilst her friends were completely oblivious. Caroline knew this, and it was something she was willing to take. Anything to get Klaus out of her head.
She had only raised her hand to knock for the second time when Rebekah Mikaelson opened the door. She was still in her pajama’s, and it was almost 4 in the afternoon. Caroline observed the annoyed look on her face as Rebekah grudgingly stepped aside to let her in.
“I assume Nik has done something god-awful for you to be standing here with the intent to speak about him,” she scowled. Caroline blinked. She didn’t know what to say.
“So?” The Original questioned, a hand on her hip as she waited for her reply “Are you going to tell me what he did or are you just going to stand there?”
“What did Klaus do to you?” Caroline quickly responded in efforts to divert the conversation, “You always go wherever he does.”
Rebekah rolled her eyes to this as she made her way towards the kitchen. Caroline subtly followed her. This was a mistake she thought. The Original offered her a blood bag, to which she graciously took. Caroline hadn’t fed since yesterday, she was starving.
“I declined Elijiah’s offer to come with him to New Orleans,” She finally told her “I decided i wasn’t going to be Nik’s little puppet anymore. He can rot in hell for all i care”
Caroline looked taken aback as she said this. Klaus and her were inseparable, she would’ve never thought that Rebekah would finally leave him.
“Are you done stalling now? I have things to do today so out with it” Caroline inwardly groaned at Rebekah’s instincts.
Well, here goes nothing.
“He moved away,” she finally spit out the words she’d kept inside for so long “That’s what he did. It’s killing me and i don’t know what to do about it, okay?”
Rebekah looked confused as she took in Caroline’s words. The baby vampire looked at her wearily as Rebekah’s confused expression slowly turned into an amused one.
“Please don’t tell me you have a thing for my brother”
Caroline rolled her eyes, sucking on the blood bag in an effort to not answer the question she herself had been avoiding for so long. She knew she didn’t love him, and after the stunt he pulled, she would never know either, but Caroline wasn’t about to to give his sister the satisfaction.
“Of course not” She snapped with annoyance. The reason why she came here had came back to her in a flash as she watched the vampire wait impatiently for her answer.
“The reason i came here at all was because i wanted you to give a message to Klaus,”
Rebekah looked intrigued, giving a gesture with her hand for her to continue. “Well then spit it out, i haven’t got all day.”
Caroline found a new confidence as she strutted up to her. She felt all the agitation and annoyance that was building up in the past few days, spill out into the words she spat out next.
“I never want to see him again. I never want him to come back, or speak a word to me ever again”
Rebekah looked surprised, all traces of amusement gone from her face as she simply walked away. The reason being was because this was Caroline. Sweet, bubbly Caroline whom Rebekah thought, was quite annoying, but didn’t think she had a dark bone in her body. She’d never seen her so hostile before.
So when Caroline walked out the door, hot from what happened with Rebekah, she instantly felt that hostility disappear as she stepped out into the street once again.
“Damn it,” The words caught in her throat when she felt that dreaded feeling of her eyes watering up. She almost couldn’t believe she was crying over Klaus Mikaelson. Get yourself together, Caroline She bitterly thought to herself. This was the weak, human her who let feelings get in the way of everything. She wasn’t that girl anymore, let alone someone who cried over a man who couldn’t care less.
Caroline silently let her tears fall as she walked down the street with no intentions of going anywhere. This was a good thing, because she’d told Rebekah exactly what she wanted Klaus to know. She needed this man out of her life for the better, her friends safety and her sanity relied on it.
So why she suddenly stopped in the middle of the street, and felt her hands on her phone to mindlessly click on the contact she never deleted, she didn’t know. Caroline still didn’t know when she brought her phone to her ear, hearing the monotone ringing to signal that he knew she was calling. She just couldn’t stop her crying in the midst of this, her emotions heightened and on overdrive.
One side of her didn’t expect him to pick up, and she sure as hell didn’t want him to. The other side, however, was so adamant on him. She had never wanted to hear his voice more than anything in the world like she did right now. Conflicting emotions left Caroline feel like she was going crazy.
She knew he wasn’t going to pick up when she started to pull the phone away from her ear with a shaking hand, and it was then when the call was about to end when she suddenly froze.
“Caroline?”
————
Klaus Mikaelson slowly trudged through the mansion that his family had built decades ago in New Orleans. His nerves felt as if they were on fire as he paced back and forth, half of him thinking of a way to end the Deveraux witch and the other caught up in a certain blonde vampire.
“Well isn’t this delightful,”
Klaus felt a familiar rage spark inside him as he turned to face the intruder. Kol Mikaelson had strolled into the mansion with a smirk plastered on his face. He was as unbothered as ever as he casually leaned against the wall.
“You ought to know better than to show up here uninvited,” Klaus growled angrily “After the stunt you pulled with my doppelgänger, you should’ve found yourself in a box”
“No need to be nasty about it” Kol scoffed unamused “I thought we were done with the whole daggering thing, Nik”
“Tell me what you’re doing here” He diverted the conversation angrily “Or do I have to send you back to wherever you came from?”
Kol chuckled as he walked slowly towards his big brother. Klaus was in no mood for games, especially those which came from him.
“I overheard the little spat you had with Elijah,” Kol laughed humourlessly “Caroline, brother? The little blondie we saw at the bar couldn’t possibly mean something to you”
Klaus swiftly flashes towards him after this, pinning him on the wall by his forarm as his hybrid features came to life once again. Kol’s smirk never faded, and it was for this reason he couldn’t tolerate his younger brother. He just wasn’t scared of him like the rest of his siblings were.
“You’d be smart to not aggravate me, little brother” Klaus hissed, his hold getting tighter.
“The thing i cant seem to understand is why you left her” Kol amusedly says. Klaus shot daggers with his eyes. “I’d love an explanation”
Klaus let go of him roughly, his mind conflicted with Kol’s invasive questions. He shot his brother a look as if to say ‘watch yourself’ but he knew he wasn’t going to.
“Go on, Nik. Why ever did you leave innocent Caroline?”
The truth was, she had terrified him to an extent. The love he had felt for her was his tether to humanity, and humanity was a weakness he couldn’t afford in dire times like these, where people were out to put an end to him. He knew the reasons, but he wasn’t about to give Kol the satisfaction.
“Leave before i jam a stake through your heart,” Klaus growled venomously before turning around to resume his eariler plans. Kol shook his head, advancing towards him.
“I do have information for you, if you must know,” He said with a serious expression all of a sudden. Klaus turned around at this, impatiently waiting for his response.
“I suggest you spit out whatever you are not telling me, Kol”
“Katherine knows that she is linked to the Deveraux witch. She wants you to figure out a way to break the link,”
Klaus scoffs at this, turning his back on him once again. “Katerina must’ve finally gone mad if she think i’ll be postponing my plans for her insignificant life”
“You may want to think twice brother,” Kol countered “Elijah did promise a stake in Caroline’s heart,”
Klaus stopped in his path, his heart picking up speed as Kol calmy begins to retreat out of the house when he said what he’d came here to say. He was smart as to not be in his brother’s path when his rage overtook him.
Elijah would most definitely kill Caroline. He seeked revenge for those who wronged him, no matter how his brother had threatened him.
Klaus found himself quickly leaving the mansion to do good on what he had promised himself, kill the Deveraux witch, but only now he had to find a way to break her link with the doppelgänger. He hated that Elijah had this power over him. He had threatened his tether to humanity, and for that reason he had to save Katherine’s life in order to save Caroline’s. He couldn’t help but think how much easier it would be if he had left his feelings for her in Mystic Falls.
It was when he stepped foot outside, that his phone began to ring. Klaus had his finger on the red button in efforts for no distraction, when he saw the blaring white letters that showed ‘Caroline’ was calling. He felt his heart stop.
Now, he expected her to hate him forever as soon as he had left her. He expected her sever all associations she had with him. So why Caroline was calling him, he didn’t know. But he wasn’t going to let this opportunity to talk to her, to explain why he did the things he did even if it was over the phone, go to waste.
Klaus quickly brought the phone to his ear, waiting on her to speak in that voice he found so endearing.
“Caroline?”
Humanity truly was a vampire’s greatest weakness.
