Is that canon!?! Was Machete just really naive/didn't really understand the implications of his relationship to Vasco? Did his mentor ever find out about them or discuss such things with him? I assume bc he didn't have parents, he kinda didn't get educated on sex or anything. Was it a big shock to realize he was "sinning"?

#eh I was just exaggerating it for comedy because the page was so unintentionally funny and fitting#he might've been a little bit naive but was painfully aware he was in a relationship with a man and that it was forbidden#his mentor was all about asceticism and mortification and extreme self-denial#and had drilled it into his head that practically all romantic feelings let alone sex were foolish and sinful and should be shunned#so his feelings about the whole thing were complicated but in the end Vasco was more important#not to sound corny#but there was a hole in his heart that he had desperately tried to fill with god that never seemed to care about him#and once he got some of that love he had been aching for#from another living person#he had to do what it takes to make room for that in his belief system#how could such a tender fulfilling and healing thing be wrong#answered#anonymous#his mentor did eventually find out about them and wasn't very happy about it#to put it mildly#but by that point Machete had managed to mostly inch his way out from under his heel#he was graduating and getting ordained and wouldn't be going back to Naples#if it were up to him he'd never want to see him again

I think people who write de-aging kid fics about DC characters are great because it's all like "oh my god! Through totally random and unpreventable circumstances X character has been hit with magic/sci-fi bs and is now an adorable lil guy who needs the love and support of family and friends!" And that's 100% my kryptonite. I love it.
I do think people are sleeping on speedster controlled aging though.
I would kill for a fic where Kon gets deaged to five and Bart just shrugs and deages to five as well because it looks like fun. Then the two of em get into shenanigans and enjoy the childhood they never had.
Or if Hal gets turned into a child and Barry joins him so that Hal has company. And the two of em get to interact as kids and just have fun for once in their lives.
Or if Dick gets hit with a magic spell and shrinks back down to nine and Wally's like "Oh god, we were terrible as kids! I don't want to get stuck babysitting him..... 💡! I CAN'T GET STUCK BABYSITTING IF I'M ALSO A CHILD!!" And then it's just gremlin Dick and Wally running around together being the absolute worst.
I just think their selective aging thing is nifty and the fact that they can manually switch their ages is a fantastic plot device that rarely gets used.

That post about everything being "Nah" I felt in my core. I'll always respect people who identify differently but when they ask me "what's your pronouns?" Or "where do you lie romanticaly?" I'm just "eh call me whatever you want I guess" or *I don't feel romantically for much anything" maybe cause online people always thought I'm one gender and irl people always thought I was the other so I just responded with "sure I guess"
and it's honestly such an easier way to live ngl... like when it comes to people who Know that i use they/them, it hurts to hear my given pronouns. but when it comes to strangers and just people who i haven't told, it's like... The other day while I was playing minecraft, I had a chicken egg in my inventory that I didn't need but was too lazy to figure out which chest to put it in, so I was just going to throw it on the floor to get rid of it. I was in my house at the time, so of course if it so happened to spawn a baby chicken I would be obligated to add it the my pre-existent menagerie of pets. But I was also too lazy to leave my house, and the idea of having a little pet chicken didn't sound that bad, so I decided to toss the egg on the floor and leave it up to fate! it was only a 1/8 chance of a chicken anyways, really didn't matter and all that
and then. it spawned four chickens. from one egg. which I did not previously know was possible! but it's a 1/256 chance apparently.
anyways, I am now stuck with four very noisy chickens in my house. yay me

i hate to be this big of a hater but every time i see people complain about show jaime in s8 with “all that development and for what?” what development exactly?

What are the first 5 things that pop to mind when you think about Prongsfoot?
oooh okay, okay, not as easy as u think, this one. because the only thing that pops into mind when i think about pf is like. cacophonous screaming. incoherence. a teenage fangirl running around a room, arms waving madly, mind lost in the obsession. im uh. a bit unhinged for j&s, if u couldnt tell so far lol. but i'll try.
soulmates. in every world, they're connected to each other and they'll find each other. it's a comforting thought precisely because of how tragic canon j/s is.
unattainable. both of individually, and together, are so far out of most people's leagues its not even funny. they're an intimidatingly attractive couple, and they're almost always in the middle of an inside joke that no one else understands. their friendship is inherently exclusionary and it doesnt bother them at all
affectionate beyond belief. gosh they're a public menace. in any decent society, they'd get locked up for obscenity and 'offending sensibilities' and 'outraging the modesty of people' etc etc bc theyre SO all over each other all the time. its a problem.
jigsaw puzzle. they fit like one, filling in each other's cracks perfectly. at any given time, they're what the other needs, and both consciously and subconsciously at that. seeing them together is a treat bc they're so in sync its almost unreal. even...magical, one could say ;)
larger than life. they're not. a real couple ykno? its not a relationship you'd want in reality, nor does it make sense for that to happen. it's fantastical and amazing and not constrained by practical concerns. u dont have to worry yourself with minor issues bc these two are just. *that* intertwined. i dont know how to explain this one properly haha but just know, they're not a relatable couple nor do they try to be.

i know fandom "discourse" always had the tendency to become vitriolic very quickly, because everyone is emotionally involved and of the mindset their their little boy/girl is more special than yours, etc. but the Twitter Mindset of replying with the wittiest clapback really has eroded the last shreds of a general capacity to apply nuance when nuance is required or whatever, it's very annoying

I’m watching Disneys Hercules TV series again and frankly I think if it was a big thing for people to watch and talk about today Adonis and Hercules would probably do numbers in modern fandom. People would scream at that golden apples and Gaia episode.
I’m just saying. People so would.
Also Cassandra is quite frankly the best and I love her.
And Aphrodite as well. She’s really probably the next best god after Hades in this show easily. Though Hermes is a good third. Also got to love Pain and Panic.

Do you think that -in the inevitable MK vs. his friends confrontation- Mei will accidentally seriously hurt him with the Samadhi fire? 🤔
Since strong emotions can cause it to run haywire, and there is nothing that would make her more afraid than having to fight her best friend.
There is NO way that they are completely done with the Samadhi fire.
(Unless she lost it?? Subodhi did say she 'once' wielded it. So not anymore???)
But yeah- I bet it would come back into play during the MK/Mei battle. Especially if LBD mistook MK‘s destiny for her own.
(Since that one vision she showed made it look like MK was burning before the world exploded. And she wanted everything he ended up having; the staff, his own powers, the Samadhi fire -indirectly, and well, a new title that implies destruction on a reality shattering scale.)
My view is that post the Embrace Your Destiny special, they resealed the Samadhi Fire (unsure if Mei still has her piece with her or if they successfully resealed it into 3 rings this time). We at the very least know she doesn't have it in s4 (MK has to save her in 4x01, she's worried about losing her sword in 4x05 which she didn't need with the Samadhi Fire in EYD, the Subodhi quote you mentioned). But, I don't think Mei using the Samadhi Fire again is completely out of the question. There are things that have come back that I never expected to be acknowledged again (The 1x01 seal being the same as the 4x01 and 4x14 flower fruit mountain seal was a huge shocker for me).
So the Samadhi Fire coming back into play with the MK/Mei battle? That would work super well! Especially with the way characters tend to reach for power and endanger their loved ones. It's a huge risk to take again, but if they feel they don't have any other choice it's something we know they're willing to resort to.
#tbh I'm expecting LBD's visions to be recontextualized at some point#as well as like#what she needed MK for and her og plan to ''undo the memories of the world''#Now that the scroll of memory is a thang#And as far as I can tell the scroll is not a thang from jttw#meaning it's an lmk original#also meaning that MK is like.
