thinking about the planned/never executed dsmp timeloop ending again

and how everything makes so much more sense because of it.

thinking about how it explains the way it's a land beyond time, where their technology is still that of crossbows and swords but there's also vehicles (drug/burger van) and screens/computers (las nevadas).

thinking about how tales of the smp makes 100000x more sense with it. thinking about how wilbur didnt have a room in mizu because he could've removed himself from the loop by leaving the smp and going to utah (theory from @/idkwatthehec !!)

thinking about how it actually fixes the nuke ending,, to an extent.

thinking about how every character's story just has that much more impact, because they're so intrinsically Themselves and they've likely lived out similar arcs many times before since it's just the way that they and the people around them Are.

thinking about how such minor details, such as removing one person or object, could dramatically change the loop's course.

thinking about how much more terrifying the idea of limbo is after that. does it reset with the rest of the smp? does it exist beyond the loop? etc.

thinking about how, if wilbur was able to leave and escape to utah, does the loop extend outwards to the rest of the world, or is it just an isolated thing inside the smp? and what this would mean for the extent of drmxd's power

thinking about characters forgetting, but their souls remembering the tiniest things. tommy still getting a feeling of dread when he's near tnt. tubbo still jumping a little harder than normal around fireworks. ranboo getting an odd sense of sick deja vu when he sees obsidian.

eggpire-affected people having a sort of guilt that they can't understand the source of or why it follows them.

what if i made an au based on Roald Dahl’s “The Witches” despite not having read the books or seen the movies

Like c’mon, an evil witch who turns kids into mice, three mouse kids plotting revenge on said witch, one of the kids has a guardian who knows a weird amount about witches, there’s a vision here.

👥 do other ppl live in the dsmp.

Yes. It’s really the only thing that makes sense with side characters not played by cc!s like c!Sally and c!Eren’s parents. More over C!techno says in his last lore stream “where I come from people don’t have three lives” implying that there is a population of people living in the nether and in h016 c!wilbur notes the citizens of Las Nevadas are sleep when he sneaks in to steal boner implying once again that there is a population outside of the streamers. That was a really long way of saying yes😭

🍺 should c!Schlatt be revived.

Yes if they can commit to the lore and not drop the story line. C!Schlatt coming back has so much potential and has been hinted at ever since his death. It brings up so many questions and a perfect chance to parallel c!Wilbur and c!Schlatts arcs like they did in the pogtopia era . Not to mention what it would do for c!Quackity. His abuser coming back especially at a time when he’s so emotionally venerable. (he’s basically lost everyone) would be so cool to watch. Their dynamic in the Las nevadas stream awesome especially with c!Quackity very quickly falling back to his submissive position and trying to not upset c!Schlatt. My only worry is the plot line would get dropped mid way through and that would suck. Also cc!Schlatt seems to high key hate dsmp fans so idk if he want to come back.

🥚 did I like the egg arc

Yes and no. I loved the egg arc and also hated it. I think it’s downfall was being the one of the first arcs I’m s3 where you could really see the cracks in the writing and the lack of contact between cc!s. Ex: they kept saying their would be an ending and there never really was. Ccs not taking it seriously was also a huge issue. Finally the red dinner party or whatever it was called sucked. I’m so sorry I love the eggpire to death but was my least favorite lore stream I’ve ever watched. ON THE OTHER HAND. It was such a cool idea and I think cc!bad, cc!sam cc!skeepy ect did the best they could with almost none of the fans or the content creators taking it seriously. (Shout out to cc!tommy and cc!Q for including it in their lore in a meaningful way)

👍 was Wilbur a good leader before his spiral

This is gonna surprise some ppl but yes. C!Wilbur loved La Manberg and fought for it. If he was good person or not is a different question but c!Wilbur was good leader. He fought for the man until the last second during the The La Manberg ccs GDSMP and put himself In danger to keep his men safe. During La Manberg area he keep the country moving even when he cried and screamed into his pillow every night. The La Manberg that most of the characters loved and wanted to copy time and time again was Wilbur’s La Manberg.

🦆 should c!Quackity get a happy ending?

So the funny thing about what I post is that I tend to be more vocal about things I have to actually wrap my head around because it’s just me voicing my thought process. I’m shouting into a void and recording it for future reference.

But like… By my very nature as an internet user, I’m a lurker. I tend to just vibe and appreciate things and ignore what I don’t like.

My analyses on the DSMP (especially c!Dream) are me trying to comprehend his character because he’s such a weird character. He’s a type of character that doesn’t really exist in other forms of media? Like, yes his archetype/trope exists, but his very essence is so damn strange in comparison to the other characters. Really, all DSMP characters are strange in a way that’s only possible through live streaming Minecraft, but c!Dream is one that doesn’t translate to even a modicum of his potential in any other medium.

He’s not my favorite character, far from, but he’s such an interesting character to think about.

First of all, thanks to everyone who took part in this survey. There were 152 responses in total! This post just covers the statistical side of things; there will be more posts later for the long response questions.

Listen, you don't have to tell me, I already know I forgot to put Church Prime. I'm very aware of my stupidity. But these results—do you even know how strong you have to be to overpower Pandora's Vault? In dreblr? Damn. That was also a last-minute thing, Pandora's Vault was winning.

Fandom behaviors

I'll admit, I didn't give the best options for this question, so thanks to everyone who wrote their own response. Apparently we're all big readers, so that's nice for us! We're also more likely to be a writer than an artist, but far fewer of us are writing meta. All in all, this looks like a pretty good spread!

Joining the fandom

The most popular time to start watching the dsmp was between New L'Manberg and the Disc War Finale, but honestly, it's split into fairly even quarters between the main "seasons" the server was active. To those who joined after the finale streams, hi! I hope you're enjoying your stay!

Thoughts on the finale streams

I'm actually a little blown away that no one rated the finale streams a 1. Not a single person. There's nothing more I can say other than this response is overwhelmingly positive.

Is the fandom dying?

It looks like the answer is no! 82.9% of us are still moderately interested in the dsmp or more, and for almost a third of us, it's consuming every part of our brain. I don't know about you, but for me, this is actually something I really needed to see.

Sometimes I think people forget that cc!BBH can't breathe on a Minecraft Server without being some kind of character with fucked up morals.

Even PostEggpire!BBH was a bastard who immediatly went on to tourment Foolish (the guy he literally killed a few days before) and constantly avoided taking responsibility for the Eggpire situation (he blamed others and constantly downplayed what happened). He literally tourmented c!Tommy for extremely petty reasons (obsidian-ing his base) and let a terrorist out because he "felt bad for him" which he never admitted to.

And this is THE MOST sympathetic version of one of BBH's characters (Badlands!BBH, Eggpire!BBH and Q!BBH speak for themselves)

really really sorry for being a toxic inniter in your askbox but i saw "c!Tommy isn't the main character" discourse earlier today and i'm always kinda confused by that. bc like the server doesn't revolve around him but there's a difference between the whole server and like. different arcs. bc objectively sometimes he is. Bad was the MC of the Eggpire arc. Tommy and Wilbur were some of the MCs of l'Manberg and Pogtopia. Quackity was the MC of Las Nevadas. Tommy and Dream were the main characters of the Exile and Prison arcs. if Tommy was either a key player or a catalyst to some of the biggest parts of every single season, why do ppl act like we're spitting on their favs when we call him a main character. maybe it's cause he and his close friends fucking wrote that shit

Main character discourse is so funny because like every actual c!inniter I’ve ever interetracted with says it as a joke and then I just see people fucking malding over it like… brother the fact that there isn’t a definitive main character is one of the things that makes the smp so interesting stop swinging at demons 😭
