Yall really need to comfortable discussing misogyny and how it intersects with victims not being able to come forward im begging you. I need people to see that. This is an important convo and has nothing to do with "harassing ccs to speak up". Please keep onnfocus to support Shelby, sniff, niki, lexie, and the other people harmed by abuse and misogyny here. Who have been silenced by misogyny. Who have been afraid to speak up because of stan culture reinforcing misogyny. Please focus on their voices.

(I’ve written this many times trying to get the wording right. So if this seems wordy that’s why. I’d rather talk too much than too little.)
I’m barely active on this blog but I still have a lot of followers for some reason so i feel the need to at least say something. Support Shubble, support Rue, support everyone else who has or in the future comes forward about Wilbur.
Give the victims the outpouring of love and support they deserve for being brave enough to speak on his vile behavior.
That said don’t you dare play games with this. Dont ignore the obvious misogyny at play don’t be weird and parasocial. This isn’t a fucking gladiator match and it’s not for your entertainment or for you to push an agenda. Frankly I’m seeing horrible behavior from people I used to respect and consider my friends.

As for this blog I’m logging out permanently. As a victim of multiple abusive relationships I can’t stay in this space. It’s kinda that funny now that I never talked about my abuse with anyone here besides a small group of people because I didn’t feel safe enough to do so in this space. I’m not deleting any of my work including c!Wilbur because I don’t think I can go through it without having a breakdown. My friends know how to reach me. Take care of yourselves.

I've been drifting away from both Tumblr and MCYT for a while now. This was the nail in the coffin.
I have another blog for art, and a third for other fandoms, but I doubt I will use either as often as I used LNLU. There's never been a community I've connected with quite so deeply as this one. Your creativity, passion, and kindness carried me through awful times far more than any individual creator could. It was not all rainbows and unicorns. It ripped open some old wounds, and left some new ones as well. But I want to carry forward the good things. I'm in touch with most of my friends on other platforms. If I've missed you, feel free to message and ask for my Discord.
A few final words, though.
We can never fully know what these creators are like when they're off-screen. What we see is a carefully curated picture of who they are, with flaws either scrubbed away or humorously exaggerated to the point of dismissal. Being aware of this does not mean assuming the worst. It means being realistic. When the people who truly know them become vulnerable by sharing the truth, believe them.
Be cautious of stereotypes. Anyone can be a victim or a perpetrator. If abusers could all be easily recognized at a cursory glance, if the signs were only a simple checklist of traits and deeds, if they were all so obviously monstrous that only a fool could have ever admired them - then far fewer of these people would get away with doing what they do.
They might be charming, attractive, thoughtful, intelligent, or funny.
They might only commit "minor" abuses, the kind that by themselves seem not to count but when taken together will wear you down.
They might blame you for what they do, claiming that you gave them no choice, or using your own symptoms and mistakes against you.
They might not realize that their behavior is abusive, or they might attribute it to other issues they may deal with.
They might apologize profusely and promise to be the sweetest person in the world for you, never to genuinely change.
They might degrade themselves, saying it's "just the type of person they are," and expect you - the one they hurt - to relieve them of their guilt.
They might be victims of something or someone else, too. They might truly be suffering.
But none of that makes your suffering acceptable.
If someone belittles, insults, pressures, screams at, willfully crosses boundaries, lies to, guilt-trips, or mentally, physically, or sexually harms you or someone you care about, there is never any obligation to accept that treatment. No matter what real or imagined position over you they might have, no matter what's going on in their life or in their brain, no one has the right to abuse their power like that. They are wrong.
Anyone who tells you otherwise is wrong, too.
And to other survivors of abuse: it wasn't your fault, you deserve better, you are stronger than you know, your worth never depended on them, and you will heal with time.

Not speculation to say that we know who Shubble’s stream was about, and rushing to say not to “speculate” is imo as disrespectful as digging up personal details to prove what’s abundantly clear. Not once in the video did she insinuate that she didn’t want people to know who it is - in fact she said that he was going to hurt more people and that her silence used to be her peace but now felt more like his. There’s many, many reasons for why she wouldn’t say his name directly, including the very public years-long fights others who have made accusations have had to go through.
There’s no need to rush to invade her privacy to confirm it, the details she provided are enough. Here’s what I know: streamers ain’t shit, Shubble’s so brave for talking about her experience, and I’m not going to be engaging with Wilbur, lovejoy, or any really much of that sphere at all anymore.

genuinely, honestly, I wish fandom could move past "depiction isn't endorsement".
because it's really meant to be sort of the baby beginner step to media literacy but in fandom spaces it usually acts like a trump card to shut down critical discussions. it's one of the thought terminating cliches of fandom that discourages learning how to interrogate the text beyond "fiction isn't reality, dummy".
yes, the popular whump fic in your fandom isn't endorsing torture, but also, can you tell when the canon for your fandom is endorsing a message? how do you then choose to interact with that canon, and do you get defensive when people are critical of the source material?
depiction isn't endorsement, but can you tell when fandom trends are misogynistic or racist? can you see how killing off a black female character to "punish" her in fanfiction with the framing that she deserves it, and the popular narrative in a certain fandom that a heroic black man is a possessive liar and a white villain is a good man deserving redemption, is endorsing a message in fanfic? do you argue that it's "just fiction" when people get very understandably upset at misogyny and racism in fandom spaces?
yeah, depiction isn't endorsement, but do you think this is where it starts and stops as the only thing you really need to know? do you think people who are critical of things aren't engaging with it properly, or being mean, because they've forgotten the golden fandom rule of "fiction isn't reality"?
nbc hannibal isn't endorsing cannibalism as a dietary choice, but top gun maverick and call of duty: modern warfare were quite literally sponsored by the us military as propaganda for recruitment.
I'm not saying don't enjoy the ip that's making you happy or calling for moral purity in your media habits or whatever. just saying that there's a lot to media literacy beyond the feel good affirmations that periodically circulate fandom, and those affirmation posts both lack necessary nuance and discourage people from engaging with said nuance.

An important note to all the critique against Niki especially from a certain ccs stans
I am happy as a victim myself she called out gross behavior and perpetrators. She is a victim herself speaking up in a silent industry where ccs keep their mouths shut or openly defend cc behavior. I'm proud of her and I'm glad she spoke up during the streamer awards. And if you have critique be sensitive with this context in mind.
