After the hit that’s as heathers the musical set up by mix up manhattan Jason didn’t really think much on if he wanted to act again.
Sure, there was that quick stint of Noel’s Lament for charity but honestly he feels like it would be a lost cause to try and play another role because apparently he was a little too good at being JD.
“That’s bullshit, man. Like of course you’re going to act good, you were one of the main leads!”
Danny scoffed as gestured with a fry,
“An actor that can actually act. It’s not like you’re going to actually blow up a school.”
“That’s what I’ve been saying! You know they’ve been trying to send me back to therapy? Like gee, thanks for the vote of confidence.”
Jasob sighed as slouched over the linoleum table.
“You know, I hate that I fucking get it in a way y’know? Like I have a shady past, and maybe my temper spikes a bit more than the average guy but that shit’s in the past! I thought thought it was at least…”
“You were built for the role dude, there’s a reason you got casted. It’s probably just because it hit a little close to home.”
“Well I wish it didn’t.”
Danny hummed as he took a sip of his shake.
“You know.. there might be an easy fix for this.”
“What are you thinking about now?”
“I’m just saying how for sure are you that you don’t want to do another audition?”

Tim blinked.
And blinked again.
He rubbed his eyes until they were raw,
Nope.
No change.
“What the fuck are you doingJason?”
Jason for his part raised an eyebrow in the mirror as he continued to try to adjust his skirt.
“What does it look like I’m doing? Dressing up.”
“I-but-“
“Ah, Master Jason, how are the adjustments feeling now?”
Jason gave a grin as he grabbed a pile of clothing from the couch.
“A lot less like I’m going to flash everyone during a twirl. Thanks Alfie your a life saver.”
“Your very welcome dear do give me updates on how it goes.”
Jason gave a little twirl and a finger gun before leaving the living room.
Alfred held back a chuckle as he looked to his other grandson.
“Is there something you need to say Master Tim?”
“I-uh- The pink cardigan looked good?”
“Indeed, I do hope they do not accidentally stain it.”

I have seen some people on tumblr asking for context as to q!Charlie Slimecicle’s glitches and wondering what exactly is going on.
And sincerely from someone who has not missed a qsmp stream of his, I have to tell you that not one written post would be able to truly and completely sum up the culmination of the slimecicle qsmp streams that have led up this point.
Probably a me problem though cause I end up worrying about missing details or leaving out something important.
But the thing I am getting at is that q!charlie lore goes hard and absolutely nuts and is far more thought out then what it might initially seem to the outside eye. This man has gone through so many arcs and he references things that have happened months ago.
And honestly this is just me gushing at this point because Charlie Slimecicle has a way with improv and storytelling that has the hamster wheels of my mind whirring.

Something I'd love to see on the qsmp would be people doing things for Bad like he does for others
He spent hours clearing out a flower themed dungeons purely so Tallulah had a relatively safe dungeon to go through so she could experience looting one.
He put together an entire scavenger hunt for Foolish to do (preferably with Leo) and gave them a lot of good stuff as a prize at the end.
He's put together a lot of stacked armour and weapons for the eggs to help keep them safe, always being stocked with totems to hand out to the eggs.
At this point he's done something amazing for everyone, but no one's really done anything for him. Even if it was just a small scavenger hunt or something fun for him and Dapper to do. It'd be really nice to see people do things for Bad after all he's done for everyone else, especially as he's been really paranoid recently (with every right to be of course) so could probably do with something fun for him and Dapper to do

im actually really happy that someone's excited about that! but
Short answer: I cannot tell you about it 😞 its spoilers 😔 Good news! I have all the arcs plotted out (on paper! not just in my head!) if you'd like to guess or hypothesize or what have you I can tell you that I did. very briefly. skim the wikis about yuichi/usagi/miyamoto and integrate some elements in those stories into mine.
Longer answer(?): the original plan was to get through the main revelations of Portal Baby by, like, December, and then start making the Yuichi story (a more polished, properly scripted, and potentially sometimes in color project) in the new year. Portal Baby was supposed to be practice. getting the characters right, their shapes and voices. practicing comic-making overall - figuring out what kind of effort I could maintain over an extended amount of time, etc etc. and then after I started hauling ass on the Yuichi story, I could make cute little comics in the portal baby world for fun whenever I pleased.
Then Clarification happened. Whoops!
I'm learning a lot! and i enjoy making it! It is exactly what I want to do with Portal Baby later on! but it is throwing a super-powered wrench in my carefully cultivated schedule to, yknow. actually get to yuichi's family drama.
uh but whatever i say about yuichi in clarification and portal baby is canon for my version of his character (most likely) so...

prefacing this by saying i love dd2's soundtrack and i have some of it downloaded on my phone already. but i recognise that it gets a lot of criticism (for good reason too imo) and i am going to explore why that is without trying to sound like a hater 😭 also slight spoilers because i talk about the end credits theme
tl;dr: main title screen theme fucks up perception of the rest of the soundtrack because it's so musically disconnected from everything else
i think the problem with dd2's soundtrack "lacking a (recognisable) leitmotif" isn't that there lacks a leitmotif because there's actually two main ones, both of which stem from the end credits song. this generally isn't a bad thing, though just one is usually standard, there are sets out there where more than one leitmotif is used. the thing is though, in dd2 most of the in-game soundtracks use variations of the chorus melody (cyclops, griffin, some story cinematics, etc.) and quite recognisably too imo which makes sense!, but the (main) title screen uses the melody from the verses.
(side note: before anyone argues that even the chorus leitmotif isn't present in the generic combat soundtracks either, that wasn't the case for dd1/da either (except for the low intensity dd1 combat track) so i think dd2 can be excused on that front. i also think it's good that they didn't use it everywhere in either game because it would get annoying very quickly)
nobody remembers the theme of the dd2 title screen (don't lie, i don't either and i had to crank my brain to recall it when writing this) because you barely hear its leitmotif in-game until the very end during a handful of cinematic cutscenes. i think even the trailer music uses the chorus melody. so you have two competing leitmotifs, and on top of that, the one which SHOULD be memorable because it's the title screen theme is actually very rarely heard in-game. you wouldn't piece this together until the end of the game, AND that's if you even stick around for the credits to let it play!
in ddda, the title screen theme already plays in the first cassardis cinematic AT THE BEGINNING OF THE GAME, in a scene that was emotionally significant early on. those who hand down the story as an ending medley works because it's of two already strongly established themes (cassardis + eternal return). this didn't work with dd2's end credits theme because the two leitmotifs were not established as cohesively by that point. dd2's chosen leitmotifs should've recurred more regularly and in emotionally significant points in the game - even melve by itself and not anywhere else until the end would've been a good opportunity to use the verse motif because it's at the start of the game to hook the player + let them be able to connect it to the main theme, and it also lines up with the end credit's verse's lyrics
so musically i think the dd2 soundtrack is fine. catchy enough and imo memorable that it's an earworm. though i miss the rock/jazz/flamenco elements from the first game, the theme of dd2 as being very high fantasy instead of classic medieval low makes the folk/orchestra/occasional dungeon synth hybrid an appropriate choice to me, and this proves itself as a strength imo in its ambience. the lowkey ethereal dungeon synth of seafloor shrine and ancient battleground soundtracks + post-game ambience is atmospherically amazing. on top of that, i think its identity this time around lies more strongly in the folk instruments style for both vermundian/battahli ambience/combat music, which establishes the high fantasy folk vibe strongly.
unfortunately, the title theme does not reflect this at all LOL being a purely orchestral arrangement only - no folk instruments. into free was weirdly jpop but at least the rock elements did have some place in the soundtrack. as a COHESIVE soundtrack, it sounds very confused with its direction and that in itself is understandably more than enough to fundamentally turn off fans despite the positives. ultimately i think its musical identity would be stronger if the main title theme was changed tbh 😐 (and it did later, but by then it's too late + it only matches post-game vibes not the other 90% of the game). there's a thematic disconnect (conflicting theme/leitmotif until the end credits) as well as stylistic one (in-game folk music vs classic orchestra) which skews expectations of the rest of the soundtrack
additionally, i think due to the wack difficulty scaling - somehow worse than dd1 RIP, the side effect is that we end up hearing the low intensity soundtracks for most of the game and further ng+'s which of course are meant to sound less complex in comparison, which further perpetuates the weak soundtrack perception

Have you ever tried to figure out how the areas in Cave Story logically fit within the island or are you normal?
#cave story#so like there's the obvious stuff#like first cave connects to mimiga village#then egg corridor to outer wall to plantation to last cave to balcony#and then both plantation and balcony have access to bloodstained sanctuary#then there's less clear stuff like how reservoir connects waterway mimiga village and plantation#and then the straight up conjecture:#curly implies that she and quote were together to defeat miakid#so sand zone and first cave are probably close#santa and chako living in grasstown/bushlands implies proximity to mimiga village#(these are both assuming the teleporters are a recent development)#assuming the camera perspective never changes puts the start of balcony and outer wall on opposite sides of the island#implying that plantation and last cave span the entire length of the island#we know exactly where the wind fortress stuff is but that's not even canon

id set aside some of Baguette and Donut's eggs after Donut died back in January, and while i was pretty sure most (if not all) were unviable, theres been ONE egg in particular that ive had my eye on:
its gradually been turning this darker, tan color over time. i have no idea if thats a good sign or a bad sign, but im wondering if maybe thats the color of a little nymph forming and showing through the eggshell?
only time will tell though! Poppyseed is still the only spricket ive ever successfully hatched, and it took her 2 months after being "planted," but she was a summertime baby, so her egg was naturally kept warmer.
we'll just have to wait and see if this little spricket seed ends up sprouting!
