🦋 Was very disappointed after you told him to clean his arm, he wanted to engrave it forever so whenever he looks at it, it'll remind him of the moment that day. But he'll always keep this memory in his heart, making it flutter everytime he recalls.

🦋 He finally give in though he was quite nervous at the start but just reassure him that it's going to be fun😊
🦋 You guys started to get playful after a bit and had too much fun drawing on each other and eventually move on your faces, ending up looking messy and hilarious. While the grannies were just looking at you both fondly and then left you two with your sweet intimacy.
🦋 He got sad after you told him to clean it, he didn't want to erase it until you scolded him. But please dont scold him too hard.

My headcanons for how Jennette was created:
the Imperial family practiced incest to keep the bloodline pure and strenghten their magic -> caused health complications & miscarriages -> started to experiment with dark magic -> the research was passed down to the heir
In his youth Anastacius studied the ways how to steal, confine and augment mana that has been observed in animals and plants by Aeternitas. He kidnaps countless wizarding orphans and subjects them to horrifying experiments, which eventuelly earns him the title as the tyrant who was in league with the devil. Some of these orphans were drowned in the palace lake and their mana consumed by the carnivorous plant living there -> Anastacius feeds his wife meals prepared with the lotus flowers that are containing the stolen mana, but her body can't withstand the amount of mana -> she dies during her pregnancy and other kingdoms become suspicious of Anastacius dubious activities -> What Anastacius learns from this is that he needs to experiment first on less important women, he is careful not to draw too much attention to himself.
After Claude's divine beast was killed and all the mana returned to him at once instinctively he pushed some of his mana into Felix since his own body couldn't absorb it completely and he would have died otherwise -> luckily Felix had the mana tolerance gene and Claude's mana didn't cause his heart to explode -> Felix grew up to be a strong magician having been fed royal mana at regular intervals -> Duke Robane recognizes his son's potential, legitimizes him and attemps to use him as a stepping stone at court -> this draws Anastacius' attention and he rediscovers the existence of the mana tolerance gene
Anastacius investigates non-magicians with the mana tolerance gene -> he tracks down the descendants of Gisil's family (Lucas' old wizard master) the Judiths and the Alpheus -> "befriends" Roger Alpheus to get access to his pregnant wife and experiments on her without Roger's knowledge -> Duchess Alpheus falls ill after giving birth to Ijekiel and dies a few years later -> Ijekiel is another prototype of Jennette, explaining his resistance to her brainwashing magic, his charme and immense talent -> Anastacius has an affair with Penelope and uses her to give birth to a child with the mana tolerance gene and feds her a tremendous amount of stolen mana -> the baby starts eating away at its mother's lifespan when she escaped the palace after Anastacius was killed -> his masterpiece Jennette is born

Bruce es Batman, el no puede (verdaderamente no quiere) darse el lujo de procesarlo, tiene villanos que atrapar y una compañía que dirigir.
Barbara aún estaba es shock, ella es Oracle ¿Como se le pudieron escapar los detalles? Ha estado haciendo una carpeta de investigación junto a Tim.
Dick es……nervioso. No puede dejar de pensar que le pudo hacer el villano a Batmom; la lista sigue en cuanto a las posibilidades y quien es esa niña?
Jason está enojado con el villano, lo quiere matar, torturar, hacerlo sufrir, el no está dispuesto a dejar a Batmom sin dar problemas, no piensa en que las consecuencias podrían ser algo catastrófico.
Tim esta deprimido, recordemos que el tiene un complejo de héroe, lo que significa que el piensa que Batmom está en ese estado por su culpa, tiene que remendar ese asunto, a cómo ser lugar.
Stephanie ha pasado por una momentos difíciles, incluyendo a su padre y madre biológicos, algo difícil, el hecho de que pierda a Batmom es un golpe, uno profundo. Ella como Jason está enojada; pero quiere respuesta también. Así que esperará, cuando sea el momento Perfecto atacará.
Cass es diferente. Está confundida, acaso Batmom ya no la ama? Prefiere darle cariño a esa niña (qué por cierto esa niña se mira un poquito traumada, pero detalles) quiere entender, porque?
Duke quiere pretender que no le afecta, pero le duele, luego de que a sus padres desaparecieran a manos de él Joker; le da la misma sensación de miedo y frustración, muchas preguntas, pocas respuestas.
Damian está planeando la muerte de el villano, como un niño de mamá, quiere a Batmom de vuelta, en cuanto a la niña, la quiere desaparecer.
Podemos de manera segura saber que el plan está en marcha, Batmom debe volver a toda costa……. “Mientras que Jason, Stephanie y Cassie roban información de la guarida de el villano, buscando información. Dick, Tim y Duke se infiltran en el hogar del villano; con Barbara en el centro de operaciones (Bruce no fue notificado en este asunto, así que está en un viaje de negocios, mientras que Damian, como la bolita de odio que es está castigado) sigilosamente entrando por la ventana de la cocina, a empujones y regaños. Since the last time the Batfamily saw Batmom, everything was different and not in a good way.
Bruce is Batman, he can't (truly doesn't want to) afford to process it, he has villains to catch and a company to run.
Barbara was still in shock, she is Oracle. How could she have missed the details? She has been doing a research portfolio with Tim.
Dick is……nervous. He can't stop thinking what the villain could have done to Batmom; The list goes on as far as possibilities and who is that girl?
Jason is angry with the villain, he wants to kill him, torture him, make the villain suffer, he is not willing to leave Batmom without causing problems, he does not think that the consequences could be something catastrophic. It WILL run blood.
Tim is depressed, let's remember that he has a hero complex, which means that he thinks that Batmom is in that state because of him, he has to fix this, whatever it takes
Stephanie has been through some difficult times, including her biological father and mother, something difficult, the fact that she loses Batmom is a blow, a deep one. She, like Jason is angry; but he wants an answer too. So he will wait, when the time is right Perfect will attack.
Cass is different. She's confused, does Batmom not love her anymore? She prefers to give affection to that girl? (by the way, that girl looks a little traumatized, but details) she wants to understand, why?
Duke wants to pretend that it doesn't affect him, but it hurts him, after his parents disappeared at the hands of the Joker; It gives him the same feeling of fear and frustration, many questions, few answers.
Damian is plotting the death of the villain, like a mama's boy, he wants Batmom back, as for the girl, he wants her to disappear.
We can safely know that the plan is in motion, Batmom must return at all costs……. “While Jason, Stephanie and Cassie steal information from the villain's lair, searching for information. Dick, Tim and Duke infiltrate the villain's home; with Barbara in the operations center (Bruce was not notified in this matter, so he is on a business trip, while Damian, like the little ball of hate that he is, is grounded) sneaking in through the kitchen window, pushing and scolding. They don't find who they were looking for…….The girl looks at herself, perplexed, but not scared. With a soft but nervous voice he said: -They're looking for her, aren't they? ………That was not expected; It's funny, the girl didn't scream or do anything. Does she refers to Batmom? Is she also kidnapped? -She's not here, she just left with her father. ………… Father?! Okay, that wasn't the answer anyone expected, none of them. But there was no time to process it either because someone was entering the house, without thinking Duke simply grabbed the girl and went out the window, a hero's reflection. Unfortunately for them, they realized when everyone was in the Batcave. He had taken the girl with him”.

more support for the theory that Felix might be an illegitimate son of Duke Robane: He seems to be insecure about his bad education and didn't even know a word Arlantan until he heard how Athy said she doesn't want a stupid friend and resolved to study in order to become a more suitable companion for her.

I was taking to a friend as we were reviewing Claude’s past, and came the possibility that Claude had a Jennette situation.
Flashbacks show that Claude had a harsh childhood, but in the flashback he has of Ana being a good brother, he’s about eight-ish years old already. In Ana’s flashback of his mother’s breakdown at the same time, she mentions in anguish how the Emperor dares (present tense) to bring in a bastard child of commoner origins despite everything she’s done for him, which is odd if we are under the assumption that Claude has been living in the palace since his birth. She wouldn’t have had such an emotional outburst like this (in present tense, too) if he had always been in the palace. It’s almost as if his identity as a royal bastard had just emerged recently. Because Claude and Ana’s age difference isn’t that much, perhaps four or five years MAX. A second child introduced when your firstborn son is like four years old is COMPLETELY different from a second child being introduced when your firstborn is like twelve. At that point, Ana would’ve been heavily established as the next heir. The Emperor choosing to bring in Claude at such a fragile yet important stage in Ana’s life is such a big threat to Ana’s position, and explains a lot more as to why the Empress was so upset—it’s not the fact that Claude was born, it’s the fact that the Emperor chose to acknowledge Claude during that time, meaning ‘I acknowledge this child as your son’s rival for the throne’, especially over a decade of Ana having no rival or obstacle.
Felix’s backstory also shows that his birth mother was Claude’s wet nurse and thus made them bosom brothers. It’s implied Felix is a bastard Robane child with his mother as a maid instead of the duchess, as no Duchess would become a wet nurse—never mind for the emperor’s bastard with commoner blood. However, the fact that Claude’s wet nurse was a Robane Ducal maid, and story cues implying Claude joining the palace years into childhood with his commoner mother (who also worked as a palace maid previously which is how she became pregnant iirc? I could be misremembering that though), couldn’t this mean that Claude was possibly raised in the Robane Dukedom, just like Jennette in the Alpheus Dukedom? And just like Jennette, he was introduced after a certain amount of time and brought into the palace? It’s obvious Duke Robane doesn’t harbor any sort of ill will towards commoners, as he’s also one of the first nobles who puts their trust in Athy when Athy calls the nobles for counsel while Claude was KO’d, the others being distrustful because of her commoner blood. He would be the type to allow his lover and bastard child to grow up in the Robane Dukedom, and he would show this trust in Athy knowing he also aided Claude’s commoner mother, as well as Claude himself, for his younger childhood. After all, no palace maid brings their (also bastard) child to the palace when they’re there for work. Felix and Claude’s closeness and brotherly bond makes sense if they grew up together in the Robane Dukedom, and Claude brought Felix to the palace with him when we was acknowledged as royalty.
Would this not explain why Roger chose this method specifically for Jennette? Because it was known that Claude entered the palace the exact same way? And thought Claude would at least show pity for the girl who mirrored his past, as well as hoping for Ijekiel to grow close to Jennette as Felix did to Claude? Perhaps Claude himself in Lovely Princess saw Jennette as his younger self, knowing full well that Jenette wasn’t even his child (confirmed as he immediately denounced Jennette in SBAPOD when she came to him about her origins). This would explain Claude’s immediate shutdown of when Roger tries to bring it up to him during the debutante, and why Roger doesn’t reveal Jennette’s identity. Claude knows what Roger is implying. Claude knows even more when he sees Jennette. He knows because this was the exact situation he had.

The Happiest

Two months before December, the emperor summoned her for a private meeting. Once upon a time it would have brightened her day, taking this gesture a feeble proof that he held something for her, his other daughter, in his heart.
Nowadays, it perked her up, but not in childish naivety or hopeful longing but in tentative caution and nervous wary.
Worst, the one to bring the news was his loyal dog, the Crimson Knight. Sir Robane smiled at her, perhaps hoping to put her at ease but tried as she might she couldn't find the will to return the same. Had she been Jennette, it would have come easy for her.
But she was Athanasia, gloomy, somber Athanasia.
The moon could never be the sun no matter how hard it tried.
Lily's reaction mirrored her inner feelings but she assured the older woman, her heart warm in comfort of the knowledge that she had one person who was always there in her corner from the beginning to now and ever after.
"It will be alright Lily." she assured her, taking the strength from her mother-figure's fierce embrace. "I will be back soon."
Of course, anything involving the emperor could not be guaranteed but in a fit of bravely stubbornness, Athanasia swore to make this one true.
"What does his Majesty wish of me?" she asked as they walked on the impossibly long hall.
Unlike her royal father, Sir Robane was free of his expression in comparison to his commander and she could decipher it in a second. Her back chilled despite the warm golden light spilled through. The long hallway didn't help as it stretched into a maze and she felt absurdly like a prisoner about to face a Minotaur.
She bowed her head, avoiding the rows of past royals staring back at her from their portraits.
The gilded door towering over as she stepped in.
Robane stationed outside.
Emperor Claude looked no different than the day she glimpsed him behind those walls as a child nor the dreaded day when she kneeled down, begging for any scraps of his love. The noon light cast a halo on his fair head and despite the tousled state of his robe, power radiated his every move. Cold Obelia gemstone-eyes dissected her as she curtsied and began the etiquette forms necessary when facing those of higher ranks.
Surprisingly, Jennette wasn't here. The pit of fear worn itself deeper in her stomach but she willed her face to be cool and smooth, unbothered.
The maids brought in the tea and array of cakes, heads low similar to her. Once done, they quickly scattered, leaving her truly alone with her father for what seemed like forever, not including the disastrous time she had begged him on her knees for his understanding, his love.
What a stupid, insipid girl she had been.
He made her wait for twenty minutes, to which she only dared to take a slip from the black tea and not any of the desserts. A small part of her yearned to taste the pretty looking chocolate cake, decorated in gold and berries but she held herself.
A princess must not be wanting, even a bastard-born one.
All the while, Claude's eyes bore into her form.
"Duke Martell has sent a proposal for your hand in marriage." his Majesty spoke suddenly, leaning back on his chair, a paper in his hand.
Athanasia froze.
Her prospects hadn't been great even before Jennette's introduction at the débutante. After all, her father was healthy and young enough and could potentially sire more desirable sons and daughters. After Jennette was welcomed into the fold, however, Athanasia had suspected she would either be wed to a minor noble of Claude's faction or secretly disposed of to ensure Jennette's golden future.
On the other hand, his words looped inside her mind. House Martell was one of the most prominent noble houses in Siodonna, having connections and relations to the royal family. If her memory served, the current queen of Siodonna related directly to the duke in question's father. She might need to check just to be sure.
"Apparently," he continued, eyes never left her. "He has heard tales of your beauty and manners which intrigued him greatly, despite your...lesser birth and pitiful lack of mana." she was still as the statues lining outside the garden despite the subtle dig. "What shall you make of that?"
It was not a question. "Whatever your Majesty wish, I shall obey. For it is your will above all."
He smirked but the glint in his eyes remained.
"Get out."
"As you wish, sire."
She didn't run but it was a near thing.

Two weeks later, after the summoning the Crimson Knight came back to the Ruby Palace, an announcement on his lips that rattled her entire being.
She was to leave Obelia the day after her birthday for her voyeur to her mother's former home and her new home. The ship would carry her, the entourage of her choice (this, she nearly buckled under waves of relief and so was Lily), guards for her defense and her dowry to Siodonna for her wedding.
She didn't care much for the dowry than the having at least one familiar face at a foreign land but she was surprised and grateful that he would honor her this. Sir Robane gave her the list and so far, it was pretty standard: a chest full of gold coins, precious gemstones, priceless pearls, expensive linen.
It was more than she ever dared to hope of.
She wryly suspected that had the emperor got his way - which he had plenty of - she would have been at Siodonna and a married woman by now. Out of sight, out of mind. It was an open secret to the court how her father perceived her presence.
She would give it to Jennette's influence, the second person in Obelia that would rather Athanasia stay.
Her musing was proven correct when days after the news, Jennette immediately invited her to the Emerald Palace for their tête-à-tête. Here, they ate and laughed - Jennette had the talent for making even the introverted Athanasia opened up - and they had discussions and conversations about Athanasia's soon-to-be-husband and Siodonna.
To be honest, she hadn't contemplated much about her future groom. Then again, the whole matter had happened at a breakneck speed so she hadn't the time to do so. What she told Jennette was drawn from limited information about the duke.
(She had to be careful with her choice of words too. Despite the wedding on the horizon and international political affairs at play, ears were everywhere, the waggle tongues more so. One wrong word could see her lost it all.)
Duke Phoebus Martell was seven years her senior and the middle son of the current Siodonna queen's brother. He was talented at archery and sword skill. There were rumors that he was a playboy and Jennette had concerns but as long as he didn't flaunt his affairs in her face, she would let him be. Especially if he proved himself to be a cruel man but if he was, his family hid it well or there was truly none.
That was all Athanasia could gather. The rest, well, she would soon find out she guessed. If it came down to it, she would survive. What was another tragedy, being a forgotten queen in a foreign country?
Immortal was her name but survival was her fate and she would chase it to the very end.
"The people are making songs about you, you know." Jennette's lips curled; the smile lit up her elegant face. "The Winter Princess married to the Duke of the land of suns and spices. There are even poems!"
How strange. She didn't know what to feel about that. She had been isolated in Ruby Palace for so long that she doubted the common people was aware of her name.
"Siodonna." Jennette tested the foreign name, the pronunciation slightly off. Athanasia was sure she would get it better next time. "I hope I didn't bother you Athy, but it was your lady mother's homeland, right?"
Her mother, lady Diana. The dancer whose bewitching ruby eyes and sensual dancing skill had captured her father's attention. She had had time to make peace with
Athanasia nodded. "It was, yes." she placed her cup down the saucer. "And you have no need to worry Jettie, I am sure Siodonna is a wonderful place one can call home."

Weeks leading up to her birthday and eventual journey, she was granted higher allowance from his Majesty. Her dresses are more diverse, more fashionable than anything she had been wearing for the past seventeen years of her life.
The nobles, usually snickered at her attire and attitude, didn't provoke her as much as they used to. It was by no virtue of her and more of fears to accidentally set themselves up in emperor Claude's way.
For to object the marriage that he had gracefully accepted was objecting his will and borderline questioned his decision. A thing no one with a healthy dose of fear of death wanted to be accused of.
Regardless, she knew this marriage was far better for one of her station. Siodonna was one of Obelian Empire's allies but Claude's treatment of his Siodonna-born concubines, her mother included, was less than satisfying. Siodonna, in fact, found it equally horrific and barbaric for they treasured their subjects, especially the commoners.
Unlike most empires and countries, Siodonna understood the value of everyday men and women. They took the most percentage of farmers, inventors, clergy, military, magicians, healers and so many more.
Not to mention, Siodonna was leaps and beyond in treatment to their illegitimate children. They could inherit and occupy any position lawfully and any discrimination was met with swift and heavy punishment. Obelian Empire could never!
It was the reason why the talented, the ambitious and the hopefuls were attracted to the land, despite its boiling temperature and unique geographical placement. The latter was the main reason why Siodonna had retained its independence for thousands of years.
They always said that Siodonna conquered by marriage.

December 3rd came in a swirling of snow flurries and an exciting, anticipating burst of decorations at the Emerald Palace. No matter how obviously spoilt Jennette was by their father, he forbid her from celebrating at the Ruby Palace. So, Jennette's palace it was.
Athanasia had insisted, almost pleaded Jennette to instead make it a smaller party. She had very few people in her inner circle that wished her well and she argued that for her last birthday at Obelian Empire, she wanted it to be Jennette and Lily. Sir Robane was added for extra measure.
Jennette had ordered a three-foot long chocolate cake that was beautifully decorated in gold swirls and fresh, exotic fruits. They had their shares of the delicious, obscene treat and got a bit tipsy in the process. Afterwards, it was time for present.
Jennette's gift was a pair of handmade dolls, obviously resembling her and Athanasia, along with a necklace whose azure gemstone sparkled similar to their iconic royal eyes.
A rare book that must have cost a fortune from lord Ijekiel (as Jennette insisted on being informal)- whose business he had to attend so he wasn't here.
Lily gave her a silk ribbon and a handmade handkerchief.
Felix's was perhaps the most outstanding. When the red-haired man had reached out a single pair of gold earrings with tiny rubies embedded in the middle and a large, red gemstone ornament, Lily had gasped, face pallid.
"This is all I could save of your mother." he told her gently, sheepish. "I think lady Diana would like you to have it, especially now that you are going back to her home soon."
She thanked the man, her mood slightly damped.
Later, in bed she would touch the ruby stone, thoughts running in her mind. Had Diana ever wondered her fate would end like this? Dead and buried who-knew-where in a foreign country, a man she believed to have loved her abandoned their daughter in a crumpling, blood-soaked palace for years on end?
Finally, she shoved it away. Her mother was dead and she was alive.
Overall, tonight was the best birthday of her life.

"Don't forget me." Jennette cried. "Please don't forget me."
"I won't." Athanasia promised.
Sir Robane and lord Ijekiel stood a foot away, respectively avoiding their eyes from this touching scene. The latter seemed to want to say something, eyes flickering to and from her. In the end, he stayed put where he was.
She watched as their shapes blurred and as she sailed further and further from Obelia. She couldn't identify the tight feeling in her chest. It might be grief; it might be relief. It could be both.
"Princess, would you like some warm tea?" Lily asked, a hand on her shoulder.
What a sweet woman. Lily deserved better than Athanasia could give her, would give her.
"That will be great Lily."

As soon as they arrived, the air changed. She could taste the spicy tint in the air, how thick the wind was. Their heavy garments, unsuitable to the weather, was soon soaked in sweats that minutely, Lily had to change her outfit into a lighter blue dress that accommodated her figure nicely and wiped her forehead obsessively.
She felt guilty for always making Lily so worry but the older woman's foresight was immeasurable once she caught the sight of the man she had learnt to remember.
Lord Martell and his entourage were there to greet her when she came aboard. He was handsomer than she expected. His eyes were a lovely red shade of wine, his skin dark and his curly hair darker. He wore the robe the style she had seen repetitively on her father, and gold ornaments fit for prince.
She flushed when he caught her eyes lingered a tad too long at the exposed nest of dark hair on his muscle chest. Lily's stare was heavy on the back of her head. Lord Martell's chuckle contained no notes of maliciousness she was often used to back home.
"My lady, if you wish to look, don't be shy." he teased. "It will soon be yours to look after every day."
"You are too kind sir." she coughed; a tingling of sort rushed through her spine. Strangely, the idea pleased her.
"Phoebus." he kindly corrected. "You will be my wife soon and I don't wish for us to be strangers."
Something in her relaxed. "Then, you can call me Athy." She offered. "That's what my sister calls me."
"Athy." he smiled and took her hand. "Welcome to Siodonna."

The wedding was the most opulent, full of sounds and colors, food and wine. Her dress was light as a feather and softer than silk, a multitude of shades of orange and pink that highlighted her every best features.
Phoebus stammered when she descended into his line of vision and a tiny part of her was glad for the unintentional payback to him at the dock.
He took her hand and together, they recited the oaths.
Her smile was brighter than ever.

Her new home was grand, no less than any of Obelian Palaces, with its ivory and airy architecture. A lake situated in front of the mansion.
Phoebus brought her to meet up with his parents. She could see where Phoebus got his best features from.
Her mother-in-law kissed her on the cheek, and a tear slipped from her wine-red eyes.
"Your mother and I were best friends. Bosom friends. Our mothers had been friends and our grandmothers before that." she said. "If I had known of your damned father's behavior towards Diana and you sooner..." Her fist clenched.
The current of hurt and sorrow beneath the anger moved her heart. That an ocean away there was someone who cared deeply about her mother, a woman long gone and her, a practical stranger. She didn't ponder on the what-ifs. Now was better than her loftiest dream.
She tip-toed and returned her mother-in-law's kiss on the cheek.
"Thank you." she whispered and let the woman tugged her into an embrace.
Later, her mother-in-law would again give a kiss to Lily, thanking her for being Diana's friend and confidant and for being a mother to Athanasia.
Athanasia's heart, once previously shrouded in thorns and darkness, opened to sunlight.

Phoebus was...not what she had been prepared for. He was friendly and sly but never mean-spirited, unless someone gave him reasons to. He respected her as an equal, hadn't once deemed her inferior because of her gender or age, willing to help and guide but never dismiss or belittle her when she made a mistake.
They ensured there was always break time, where Phoebus proceed to hold her hand and sneaked her away, as if they were two young teens in a clandestine love affair!
(Her face reddened but she didn't admonish him much more than she should)
He taught her Sindonna slangs and jokes and obscure facts that had her lips quirked. She, in turn, returned it back full force, having advantage over him by mastering more languages.
Open up to him was easier than it should be but there was not an ounce of regret in it.

After much thinking, she decided to sign up to dancing lessons, the Siodonna's dancing style. She found it beautiful and magical the way Diana must have once found it and soon grew to love it.
Her mothers clapped the loudest when she performed.

It was easier to sleep at night, no longer needing to fear a monster with fair head and cold, indifferent eyes waiting for her to tumble. That there was strong hands, warm chest and tender kiss on her head to snap her out of her night terror that gradually decreased.

She gave birth to a daughter, which she named Lilian but everyone agreed on the nickname Annie. A pair of twins graced their family few years later, the son she named Aelius and the daughter Diane.

She didn't aware when the realization hit but Athanasia was happy. Lily, who had taken care of her since she was a child was here, hale and healthy. Her husband's parents loved her dearly and she to them. Phoebus was not the prince charming she once imagined of, he was real and so was their children.
Her sweet children, who would never have to go through a lonely, isolated childhood, living in a blood-splattered wall or begging for a father's love that never existed.
For the first time in her life, Athanasia confidently declared that she was the happiest.

Ok this au came to me so I decided to write about it it’s a crossover between trash of the counts family x I have become the hero’s rival x the villainess reverse’s the hourglass it’s quite long - I call the au Golden Light because everything was bathed in golden light before Claudia died and everything went to the underworld

Ok so in this Alberu, Cale, Felix, Claudia, Irene, aria and Asher grew up together they were all friends eventually Cale got married and had a child felix robane who was named after felix from ihbthr and again felix from ihbthr married Irene and had roger alpheus aria and Asher got married and had Penelope and Rosalia then Alberu and Claudia married and had anastacius. now I know we saw anastacius mom but I found it weird how she was still alive because we all know Diana died giving birth to a imperial child and Claude’s mom was sick after giving birth. so for my au the empress is anastacius stepmom and he didn’t know but anyway as I was saying Alberu and Claudia had anastacius but she died and anastacius Claude and roger’s generation didn’t know about her because Alberu made an imperial order for the adults of obelia to not talk about Claudia with them being executed if they did. So after she died Alberu grew distant from there friends and also had hallucinations of Claudia like Claude would have of Diana and when anastacius was 1 or 2 he remarried to the empress because of political reasons and told her he would never love her because he didn’t want her to get her hopes up and think he would as he would only ever love Claudia and because she was from there generation she knew about Claudia and that’s one of the reasons why she was awful towards anastacius. Then Alberu had a one night stand with a concubine after he got drunk because he felt guilty and like he was betraying Claudia after he married the empress. The concubine then got pregnant with claude who in my au Alberu named after Claudia which anastacius and claude and roger’s generation including them didn’t know about it which made them and the noble’s children think Alberu didn’t care about Claude it’s also one of the reasons why the empress was awful to Claude because he was named after the dead woman who her husband would always love and who’s shadow she was stuck in. He also became like I said before cold and distant towards everybody even his kids but still cared he just didn’t physically show it so because Alberu became distant and they didn’t want the kids that felix from ihbthr is the uncle of the kids that if Claudia survived Cale would have been like an uncle towards to be be alone so Cale sent his son felix to become Claude’s playmate and Felix from ihbthr sent sent his son roger to be anastacius playmate. Because they all grew up together and were friends Alberu accepted it was also the reason why Alberu, aria and asher betrothed Penelope and Claude. Also Irene, aria and whoever Cale married were the lily to Claudia’s Diana so Cale’s wife became Claude’s nanny and Irene became Anastacius nanny. Also if you wonder why asher and aria would betrothed Penelope to Claude or Cale’s wife would become his nanny when he’s not Claudia son it’s because 1 they were and still are friends with Alberu so they would look after his kid 2 Claudia would want them to look after him because he was both Alberu’s son and created and born after she died and 3 he was an innocent child for the au that’s all I could think of before I lost focus if I think of anything else I’ll probably edit this. Also as I said before roger anastacius and technically Claude don’t know there cousins they don’t even know about Claudia because alberu made an imperial order for the adults of obelia to not talk about Claudia and if they did they would be executed. So no knowing about her being anastacius mom, the technical stepmom of Claude or roger’s aunt. Also someone please make wmmap react to this au if it’s a story on ao3, FanFiction.Net, Wattpad or a gacha life reaction video on YouTube please I really want to see this I think it would be a really cool concept ! Crossing Though Worlds: New names
Crossing Though Worlds is the official name to my au.
In Crossing Though Worlds, both Athanasia and Jennette have new names and/or middle names.
After Jennette was adopted, her name was changed to Jeanine Esmé de Alger Obelia to represent that she's of the imperial family.
Athanasia's middle name is given to her from her grandparents (Diana's parents). After Athy was born, her mother, Selena, brought to Siodonna to meet her Diana's family with one of Cale's step mothers who was in Diana's trope before marrying Duke Robane.
While Cale's step mother was Diana's friends and Athy's godmother and Selena was her adopted mother, they thought it was right with Athanasia's middle name was given by her birth mother's family. They named her Aziza, Athanasia Aziza de Alger Obelia.

Vegeta and Athanasia💓
0What if... during Athanasia's excution she manged to escape by using her magic but she over did it that she end up in another world where she was found by a 14 years old Bulma Brief and her father.
Athanasia de alger obelia told her story to them and how she got their. She was adopted by the brief family not short after she arrive to that world. And began learning everything that world has to offer even learning to how to create device which she has no problem after she was always been a smart child even when she was a toddler that in just short of two years she learn everything her age group should have. The brief family treat Athanasia like a real member of their family since the very beging.
Growing up in her old world all she ever wanted was her father's love but that never happen and in order to protect herself from future assasins that might sent her way her nanny Lily York got her a teachers in combat & Swordmanship in secret from Arlanta as well as a teacher for athanasia to learn how to use her magic to it's full potential without the Emperor ever knowing that the princess ever learn how to weild her mana.
In Obelia
During Athanasia's escape from her excution by using her mana she over did it that it sent a powerful shock wave of mana that whatever powerful dark magic the Emperor use to forget his beloved wife Diana were gone in doing so made him remember everything Athanasia being his daughter, by the time mana disappear Athanasia was already gone but by then whatever dark magic at work that made everyone loves Jennette dissappear just like Athanasia and her jewel eyes were gone and replace by an ugly color of green the same shade color her mother's eyes was. Which horrified everyone which the Emperor discover that she has trick him to believe that she was his daughter that he strip her of her tittle as a princess on the spot.
And it wasn't long before before Felix Robane found out that the one to poison Jennette was her own Aunt in order to frame princess athanasia to get her out of the way and make Jennette the heir to the throne. Which made the Emperor more furious that he had the countess excuted for frame his daughter and not even Jennette was able to save her aunt unless she wish join her which even she has a survival instinct. Luckly for the Alpheus that they have nothing to do with Athanasia's framing or they would also be excuted or worse strip of tittle as a duke.
The emperor continue to search for Athanasia that many magician also help try to find her but non of them are powerful enough to find Athanasia's exact location.
West City
Athanasia de alger obelia who is 20 years old, now attending collage with no problem that she's now in her 3rd year of Collage in just two years since she arrive to this world and she would graduate next year. While that was happen her adopted sister Bulma Brief, who is 16 years old went on a search for the seven dragon ball to make a wish of wanting to have the perfect boyfriend who would care about her. Along the way she and up meeting Goku and Yamcha who tag along with them in the search for the Dragon ball.
Athanasia even meet Goku for a short time when she return home she gotten along with him just find. She knows that Goku is different than other humans of this world for he has monkey tail she has never seen anyone else like him but his kind slow but with a kind heart.
She didn't know how didn't how different Goku really is until her sister Bulma told her that Goku transform into a Giant Ape after seeing the Full Moon and waking up with no recollection of what he did while he was a Giant Ape.
A year later...
Goku began training under master Roshi for a year. By then Bulma began dating Yumacha but they kept breaking up before geting back together. That year Athansia finally graduate Collage, and made a gravity chamber that works with her mana to push her body to the limit she even created knights made of her mana to have spar to get even stronger. She hasn't change that much in 4 years she been their she still look the same like she wasn't aging at all which worries her but not much.
After graduating Collage she already has Collage degree on Business, Mechanical Engineering, Drafting And Design. she began training under Master Roshi to learn how to use Ki properly and get even stronger so if the chance that she get pull back to her original world she wouldn't be defenceless.
After Goku's First Tournament he began traing in the mountain for 3 years. While Athanasia train even harder on ki for those same years. By then Athanasia was already 24 years old while Bulma is now 20 years old.
When they end up see Goku again he change from the little kid they know to the teen he is now. At first non of them recognized Goku until he took off the thing that was covering his hair which shock them to see what he look like now. But he is still quite naive as before.
"You definitely have Goku's hair style"Bluma said still not convince.
"Ah...Bulma what happen it looks like your lips are bleeding" Goku said concern.
"NO... IT'S CALLED LIPSTICK YOU MORON!"Bulma yelled before she realized it really is Goku who is in front of her.
They all walk to meet with the rest of their friends who they all haven't seen in 3 years.
"You think we been gone for along time or something" Krillin said with a small smile.
"It's been a long time Master" Tien said with a smal bow of his head.
Krillin walk infront of master Roshi.
" I know you can't believe it master but it's true, I gotten alot taller since you last saw me... he..he"Krillin said
"Krillin, you look great"Goku said while put one of his hand in one of his shoulder. He look up at him not recognizing him at all.
"This is wounderful, we're all together again"Goku said looking at Krillin.
"Ah...Go...Goku is that you?"Krillin ask while point one of his finger at him.
"Yeah"Goku said while nodding his head. He laugh before giving Goku a hug.
"Oh..Goku it is you, I miss you. This is great I never get the chance to thank you, they told me that king piccolo killed me but you brought me back, you're incredible I don't know what to say"Krillin said happy.
"I'm just happy your back"Goku said.
"It's good to be back thank you"Krillin said.
That's Goku I don't believe it"Tien said standing beside Yamacha looking Goku' s smiling face.
"I Know he grow up so much" Yamacha said.
"Yes his power must have grown as well"Tien said.
"Hmm he was strong now he must be invincible"Yamacha said
"This should be an intresting tournament"Tien said, and Yamacha agree and can't wait to show things he learn for the past 3 years.
In that tournament is were Goku encounter ChiChi the only daughter of the ox King once more where she remined Goku the promise he made to her when they were children that he would marry her but Goku didn't know what married means he thought it was food. That Krillin have to explain what beging married means since he dosen't know who she is until she properly introduce herself, which Shock them. But while he promise to marry chichi not know what it was, he still agree to marry her.
Chichi wanted to start a family of her own soon after which Goku gaved her and in the next 5 1⁄2 years Athanasia continue to train and push her body to the limit every day that she slowly became in the same power level as Goku currently. Along the years Athanasia upgraded her gravity chamber that it dosen't overload with the help of her mana but traing, but gravity chamber also the mixture of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber, which she studied so a full day outside is 2 years and even half a day outside is a 1 year inside the Chamber Without aging not that she would age since she notice that she hasn't age a day since she first arrive to this world and it's been 14 years since then and she's now 32 years old but she dosen't look pass 18 years old it seem when she accidently travel to this world that she became immortal which she didn't mine.
During the reunion in Master Roshi's place where everyone was already their except for Goku but it wasn't long before he arrived but he wasn't alone a kid was with him at first they thought he was babysitting for someone only to discover the boy is Goku's 5 years old son Gohan.
The boy Gohan who Athanasia notice is quite shy around others, but it wasn't long before trouble arrive when they felt a powerful presence which turn out to be Goku's unknown older brother Raditz and they found out that Goku is an Alien from a race call Saiyans, they are naturally aggressive warrior race who were supposedly striving to be the strongest in the univers as far they know so far and Raditz just basicly kidnap Gohan in order for Goku to do what he told him to do.
But during the time Goku manged to saved his son but he also died taking Riditz with him but they did discover that in 1 year time two Saiyans would arrive to Earth and they are more powerful than Raditz himself which all worried everyone of the Z-fighters especually with Goku dead. They were about to search for the Dragon ball to wish Goku back to life but before they do Goku contact them that they should train for up coming battle with Saiyans while he train with King Kai until then. Which that is eactly what they did.
Piccolo decided to train Gohan for the year taking him out asking his mother Chichi which it was up to them to say where Gohan currently is and Athanasia not wanting to be the one to tell chichi quickly left. When she was given the news of her husband dead she wasn't even Phased out by Goku's death she was more worried about her son not studying than anything really even Bulma notice it but she didn't say anything it was none of her business.
Athanasia and Bulma search for the seven dragon ball for the next 2 months before Athanasia herself began traing again. In the next year Athanasia gotten alot stronger than before, even though it's unlikely that she would fight.
1 year later...
Goku has yet to return from his traing but he already wish back to life everyone was hope he get back soon before the two other Saiyans but it was too late they are already here.
Vegeta the Prince of all Saiyans and Nappa already arrived to earth. They were quite strong Yamacha, Tien, Krillin and Piccolo were no match for them but Gohan went to full raged that he somehow power up enough to match Nappa and killed him. In the nick of time Goku arrive to fight Vegeta who escape for the time beging, Goku has gotten stronger because of his traing in the other world with King Kai.
With Piccolo's death means that Kami died as well which in turn the Dragon ball to stones, but since kami isn't from earth but a Namekians so that means earth dragon ball isn't the only one so they travel Namek to use Namekians dragon ball since earth explodes they all wish to use the Namekians dragon ball to bring back Earth.
While they were all in planet Namek they end up meet Frieza which Goku fought and he end up going super Saiyans and the Earth has been wish back and Vegeta end up on earth. Who know stay with the Brief family. And he trained with Athanasia every day which only power him up since a full day outside her Gravity chamber is 2 years inside and he also spar with the upgrade knights that Athanasua created

Which are knights that can use Ki now which help Vegeta level up and with them both training together every day they bonded with one another. He found out why she wanted to get stronger. Athanasia also earn Vegeta's respect for being a powerful worrier. It just took Vegeta 2 months traing in the gravity Chamber with Athanasia before he achieve super saiyan like Goku that he train even harder to surpast Goku who vegeta calls Kakarot which is his Saiyan name.
Athanasia and Vegeta gotten alot closer since they train with each other everyday. And along the way Vegeta fell in love with Athanasia and she fell for him. He train even harder in order to protect Athanasia the woman he want to be his life long mate from Frieza and any treat, while he has gotten stronger he didn't dare think that he could go against Frieza and come out alive. By the time Athanasia turn 34 years old Frieza and his father Cold arrived to earth.
And Goku is still not here which is bad when a mysterious guy show up and went super Saiyan which shock them since they thought only Goku could go super Saiyan the others dosen't know that Vegeta could know also go to super Saiyan. The guy on the other hand is looking at Athanasia weirdly like he dosen't know who she is and why she's close to Vegeta at all. He has a weird expression on his face which creep athanasia out which Vegeta notice that he went to stand infront of her hiding athanasia from the guy's sight all together. It didn't take long before Goku arrived and the guy know where he would arrived but Goku and him talk and gaved him a warning in the years time about the treat of the Andriods 17 &18.
Goku discover that the guy was from the future and Bulma's son but he didn't say who his father is. His name is Trunks
They all have 1 year to train before the two android appear until then he return to the future. Everyone began trainging but during that Goku's wife Chichi left Goku since he dosen't want to stop fighting like she wanted and now has drag their own son Gohan fighting like him. That was also the time Bulma and Yamacha offically broke up for good that both Bulma and Goku gotten quite close like Athanasia and Vegeta who been together for a while now and it wasn't long before Vegeta and Athanasia got married but before Vegeta left for Space to train he got Athanasia pregnant and gaved her away to communicate with him while he was away. Vegeta left using the spaceship athanasia made which also has gravity chamber likethe one they both use in Capsule corp.
Athanasia knows that the longer she carry her Saiyan child inside her the stronger he/she is from what she learn from Vegeta he wasn't born until a year after he was conceive. So she didn't worry when she still hasn't given birth to her daughter when 9 months pass, by then Bulma herself end up pregnant with Goku's secound child. She five months pregnant already.

Athanasia is a temporary ruler while her father "sleeps". She meets with the aristocrats who supported her, and makes small talk, showing how precocious she is.
And Duke Robane invites her to take a little walk in the imperial garden. Ati agrees, and they walk along the path together with the knight in the person of Felix.

hey hey hey.
so like i had a thought?
au where felix notices how down diana is about her pregnancy and approaches her. she confides in him - she's afraid for her child, any complications with their health, their future, everything. the chance she is betting on is a good life for her child with their father, but...she cannot foresee the future, after all. diana has worries as any new mother would.
(under cut for length)
and after pondering on it, felix proposes an idea: what if he could garuntee this child's safety? diana had already expressed her will to make him their godfather, shouldn't he rise to the occasion? you should run away, he tells her, and spend the rest of your pregnancy at one of my father's estates.
she agrees, albeit hesitantly. he's been distancing himself from her - claude - ever since the pregnancy, but she visits him on her last night at the palace. it is a horrible night - all goodbyes are - and claude seems to sense something. he asks of her to spend the night, and diana can't find it within herself to reject the request. she'll just have to slip during at night, she thinks.
she spends her final trimester on robane lands, under the care and knowledge of felix's father as the knight spearheads the quiet search for the emperor's favorite concubine. she feels strangely at peace.
the search intensifies as her due date nears, and the week of athanasia's birth, everything...stops. duke robane explains the emperor cannot make the loss of an heir public knowledge, and has ordered the destruction of ruby palace. the concubines have been dismissed.
diana receives a special visit a few hours before going into labour - before her is a beautiful brunette with determined eyes. diana's body grows weaker by the day, she has been bedridden for the past few days, but she feels content. her child will be fine. so will her lover. claude may think her selfish after this, though she supposes if it can garuntee her baby's smile, she will accept it. she can be selfish if needed.
the obelian skies mirror the chaotic silence within the imperial palace. the young emperor has not made an appearance in the audience hall for days. his tailor has not received any orders for the usual military attire lately - rather, the instructions detail a simplistic, pure white fabric, as if...almost as if he were in mourning. the eerie calm seems to foreshow a storm.
and amidst the rain and thunder roaring across the empire, under the gaze of an ever loyal knight and a young lady, a princess is born quiet. her declining breaths reflect her mother's. "she has your eyes, my lady," says lilian york, "her father's beautiful colouring, but the strength is from you. the strength you have given her. she will live with power."
"and love?" the new mother asks weakly.
"lots," the knight swears. "a child borne of love deserves nothing less."
she is safe, my daughter - my daughter is...

by the end of the week, the imperial directory is edited at the command of his majesty, the emperor. a new name is added.

lilian york sighs at the babe in her arms. "the undying...what a cruel joke. his majesty can't possibly know whether lady diana or the little princess are still alive."
"no - it is the name lady diana expressed her partiality for," felix says with a slight smile, "it is a dare."
little athanasia groans.

athanasia de alger obelia - or, more commonly, athanasia robane - has seen many families. lilian does not what to say when the princess wonders why she cannot call her 'mother'. why she cannot address the men she believes to be her father and grandfather as such, why her grandfather refers to her as 'my lady'.
at the age of four, athanasia has stopped asking such questions. lilian cannot help but marvel at the way she avoids the topic with an intelligence that should realistically be far beyond her years.
athanasia's grandfather has made habit of asking her the same question as he tucks her in every night. "are you happy, my lady?"
she nods every time - it is such an obvious answer, after all. "athy is so happy, grandpapa! thiiiiis much!! why do you always ask that?"
her grandfather smiles. athy loves that her grandfather smiles so much. "i come from a family of knights, my lady. we are taught to honour our promises first and foremost."
"did you promise someone you would keep me happy, grandpapa?"
duke robane raises an amused eyebrow. "aren't you chatty today? get some sleep, sweet one. i will be here in the morning."
he always is.

duke robane tends to frequent the palace often. today, however, is a special day.
"were you on your way to the hall?" the emperor inquires, running into the red haired noble on his walk.
he bows in greeting. "i was not. i did not wish to bother you today, your majesty. i know you do not like to be disturbed during this time of year."
claude rather likes duke robane. he is relatively tolerable, like an older, wiser version of felix. "then what are doing outside the palace?"
"i was on my way to town, your majesty, with a... family member. her birthday is arriving soon, you see, but she was quite taken with your beautiful gardens, so i let her wander outside - i wouldn't dare allow her inside without your majesty's approval, of course."
claude raises an eyebrow. "a family member?"
"my granddaughter, sire."
claude glances at felix curiously. "i was not aware of this... development. how many children are you fathering when you're not bothering me?"
felix snorts.
"er...a foster granddaughter, your majesty."
"i do not see her here. i assume she is felix's current heir, is she not? i should be offended you have not introduced us."
"she is playing a game, sire," duke robane explains, "she has gone to hide and i am to find her. it is called hide and seek, as i am told."
he winces at the familiar voice calling out, "grandpapa!! look at this shiny flowe-"
little athanasia's face pales.
"my lady, meet his majesty, the emperor of the Obelian empire."
the blonde princess clutches her grandfather's sleeve. "from... from athy's books?"
felix cannot tear his gaze away from the emperor's face - or rather, the jewelled eyes that stare at his goddaughter.
claude could laugh. that face, even with her eyes matching the prominent robane silvery eyes...felix must really take him for an idiot, he thinks. really, he should be offended. he remembers putting felix in charge of the search years ago... lying to the emperor? disguising a member of the imperial family to pass off as their own? in what land would this not be a crime?
still, this...this 'athy' looks happy. or looked happy, before she saw him. only a fool would grow to be jovial in the palace, so claude wonders whether thank you may be in order for keeping his child so cheery.
then again, this said under the assumption that he would've kept the child alive in the first place.
claude glances at duke robane - the man is usually so poised, he thinks he'll have some fun while this little charade is up.
"what is your name?" he asks blankly.
the duke interjects, "we call her athy, sire. the name athena truly fits her - she is a very bright child."
ah, interesting...felix's father seems to both be smarter and care for the girl more than claude initially credited him.
"hide and seek," claude muses, barely making an effort to hide his smirk, "so, you've finally decided to come out of hiding."

"i was on my way to the lake. get ready to join me."
duke robane glances at five year old athanasia - she had been called to the palace for tea with the emperor once, after which their little tea parties became something of a common occurrence. he had faced hell and beyond trying to keep it under wraps - at least felix's position as the emperor's guard was a comfort.
"your majesty, forgive me, but the lady hasn't learnt to swim. i fear it may be dangerous."
athanasia shoots him a look - don't argue with the emperor, grandpapa!
"what's there to worry about when she's with me?" claude asks, eyebrow quirked, "besides. the three of you should be quite used to playing dangerous games by now."
felix sputters. "your, your majesty?"
yes, dealing with house robane is much more entertaining than roger alpheus could hope to be...
"what was it? hide and seek. your daughter could get lost, isn't that sort of thing very dangerous?"
athanasia raises an eyebrow at him, unimpressed, as felix flushes red. claude finds himself wondering - not for the first time - what goes inside her head? it's not uncommon for this child of five to react with the maturity of an adult, intriguingly.
"lets go, uncle!" she exclaims, offering him her hand as he's seen the duke and felix hold it often. she interwined her fingers with his once he accepts her hand. so small, it is. small and soft, as if he could crush her with the littlest force.
claude stares at her platinum blonde hair, a hint of a smile playing on his features. "robane has gotten quite daring lately. of course, a bold house will raise a bold child."

"grandpapa?"
duke robane glances at the blonde in his doorway - how out of place her bright hair had once looked, bouncing around in contrast to the rich, deep browns and reds of the robane mansion. the estate seems to lose life whenever his foster granddaughter visits the palace, now. as per their little custom, she visits him in his study at her return. "my lady. come."
"i have to greet lily soon or she'll get mad. she hates when i meet you without being dressed for it. but i really wanted to see grandpapa." she grins brightly, and he thinks her smile is the gods compensating for the moon's quiet glow. the princess takes her place on his lap. "what are you doing, grandpapa?"
"there's some trouble at the border. i'm only looking over our damages, i'll be done soon."
athanasia's grandpapa has never once dismissed her questions claiming she's too young. he's never withheld knowledge she's asked for. sure, he makes it so the terms are easier for her to understand, but she's never been out of the loop. "how has the emperor been to you, sweet one?"
"i almost called him daddy today," she admits, feeling her grandfather's hand on her shoulder tighten.
"oh?"
athanasia chuckles. "well, that's a lie. i did call him that. but...he seemed okay with it."
"truly?"
"yeah! he's so odd. he even told me i should stop wearing so much red and black."
"what did you say to that?" the duke asks.
"i told him they were my house colours, obviously. i can't just stop wearing my house colours! he said purple suits me better. i mean, if i was his daughter or something i could wear a lot of purple. it's the imperial family's colour, isn't it?"
he clears his throat. "...you were at the palace for the entire day, my dear, weren't you bored?"
"not really. oh! i met a magician today too."
"a magician?"
"mhm! everyone at the palace is so weird, honestly. apparently he's been sleeping there ever since emperor aeternitas? i don't know, he was really strange."
"emperor aeternitas? from nearly two hundred years ago? what else do you remember about this mage, my lady?"
she presses her finger to her chin. "to tell you the truth, grandpapa, he was very pretty. like...really pretty."
athanasia's grandfather gives her a smile she has learnt to be vary of. "are you interested in this magician, my child? i don't mind extending an invitation for the pair of you to become better acquainted."
"grandpapa! when will you stop trying to become a matchmaker?"
duke robane sighs playfully. "i'm only thinking of your future, my lady. your debutante is not too far - you will need an escort to dance the night away with."
she pouts. "i can dance with you, grandpapa."
he chuckles, and the silence stretches until athanasia breaks it once more, murmuring a soft, "no."
"no?" her grandfather echoes, confused.
"that's a 7," she says, pointing towards the document he's been working on. "not 3, that was last time. grandpapa told me the border towns have a larger population now, so that needs to be factored in, doesn't it?"
duke robane studies the calculation, the surprise evident in his sharp features. "hm?...you're right, thank you."
she grins. "i've been working on my sums lately! aren't you proud of me, grandpapa?"
"always, sweet one. you're very smart to be at this level so young."
athanasia beams. "i mean, you taught me everything so it's almost like you're praising yourself, you know?" her grandfather laughs at that, the sound deep and familiar. "anyway, are these real gold? they're very pretty." she gestures towards a box of earrings resting on her grandfather's desk.
"they were your mother's," the duke tells her, feeling the girl stiffen. "i planned to give them to you at your return."
"they're very...siodonnan," she remarks almost awkwardly. "very pretty."
"she wanted you to have them. apparently they were a gift."
"oh."
he confirms with a slight chuckle, "they are gold, authentic. that fascinates you, doesn't it? you've always been quite taken with shiny things, ever since you were a child. your grandfather was like that too, athanasia."
"you're like that?"
the duke of house robane blinks in surprise once. then twice.

felix stares at the eleven year old in the emperor's bed. blonde hair spilled all over the pillows, her frail body hidden under the covers. how...?
he hadn't registered the passage of time at all. the emperor's index and middle fingers rest on athanasia's forehead, his own creased in concentration and annoyance. felix can't even help the fury building within himself.
"your majesty," he begins cautiously - claude has been a wild card ever since watching his daughter cough up blood at the breakfast table. the massacre everyone was on edge about eleven years ago at ruby palace would've been inevitable yesterday had athanasia's childhood friend - the mage - not arrived as early as he had. "you should rest."
claude's gaze turns to him dangerously. "do not tell me to rest when-"
the girl stirs uncomfortably, her eyes opening. she glances at felix before tugging on her father's sleeve weakly. "papa...?" tears prick at the corner of the young princess's eyes.
oh, that's right - felix remembers his father having the talk with the princess a few months ago. she had accepted the new information quietly, and rather quickly, to the both robane mens' surprise. the princess had started bringing her father flowers on her visits from then, and as if in return, claude had an entire garden in built where ruby palace would've been.
the emperor's hand returns to his daughter's forehead and she blinks sleepily a few times before drifting right back to sleep. the magic has long worn off - neither father nor daughter had flinched at the sight of her shimmering blue eyes. if anything, felix had seen claude's shoulders relax.
the emperor lets out a small sigh. "i will not be here when she wakes." he traces the soft collar of her purple nightgown. "and should she consent, see to it that athanasia moves into emerald palace by the end of the month. she has been fostered long enough."
oh, his father would definitely not like that.

"are you mad, papa?" athanasia asks, the sequins of her debutante dress glittering bright u der the lights of the hall..
"why would i be? did someone dare say something to y-"
she latches onto his arm before her father has a chance to finish. "no! nobody could dare offend me on my debut. especially when i have you by my side."
"then you do you ask?"
she plays with the intricate patterns on the arm of his outfit. "because i refused to move in with you? trust me, papa, i didn't mean to hurt you at all...i was only..." scared. it was at the debutante, wasn't it? when you chose jennette over the real athy.
"it was simply your choice," the emperor tells her flatly. "and i seem to recall you delaying it. not refusing."
athanasia laughs sheepishly. "that's right. i don't want to force myself into your life. i really love our time together though, papa."
her breath hitches as claude halts in his step. his hand raises to her jawline, thumb brushing against against her earrings. "where...? where did you..."
"papa? do you need to sit down?"
it does the trick, snapping her father out of whatever trance he had been under.
"won't you dance again? i'll be here," he encourages, and athanasia nods. she's shared one with her godfather, one with ezekiel alpheus...
"what are you doing here, your highness?" duke robane inquires, separating himself from his conversation partners.
"won't you dance with me, grandpapa?"
the duke can't help but smile at the way she addresses him. "you were escorted by his majesty, sweet one. why do you wish to spend your precious time with this lowly servant?"
"grandpapa!"
he sighs with a fond smile. "alright, alright. but even dancing with fathers is out of fashion nowadays, princess. and you're here, asking me?"
she frowns, unimpressed. "i think you don't want to dance because you're so tall. are you calling me unskilled?"
he gives her a charming smile. "how could i dare?"
"don't you remember, grandpapa? in your study?" she extends her hand with a familiar smirk, "i come from a family of knights, my lord. we are taught to honour our promises first and foremost."
and really, when has duke robane ever been able to refuse his granddaughter?

𝐘𝐎𝐔 𝐒𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐄𝐃 As you push away all the documents that was in your desk, while your husband was away you were supposed to be the one in charge of the duchy.
The Imperial Palace was in a ruckus this fast few weeks and rumors had been spreading around that the emperor no longer loves the princess. So you were forced to do some work you never knew was your work. You stared and closed your eyes thinking that maybe one day, your husband would come home like he always did in the past...
Your face brightened up and quickly left your study room and a maid noticed you. "Duchess/Duke?! Shall I prepare a warm bath? Goodness!" She quickly led you the way to the bathroom and you shook your head in a no. "No Maria can you ready the chef to bake some pastry's? And put it in a basket?" Maria looked at you in question after a while she got what you mean and quickly ran to the kitchen.
You waited for 50 min and Maria gave you a brown basket with a red ribbon on it. You smiled and quickly got dressed and rode a carriage. You arrived at the Imperial Palace and the guards questioned you and identified your position.
A maid knocked on Felix's room he opened it, "Mr. Robane your wife/husband has been looking at you they're sitting at the Guest Room..." Felix shocked came running and saw you holding a basket. He smiled and pecked your forehead. "Here a treat for you, I know your busy." You smiled and he smiled to, "Of course honey I'll eat those..." And he sat and ate with you happily...
