「Dream SMP Daemon AU 」

⚔ TECHNOBLADE + ALEKSAIX (BROADSWORD) ⚔

Piglins, as denizens of the Nether, do not have daemons as Overworlders do. Rather, their souls take the form of weapons, called morai-kelul ("forged-self"). Morai-kelul come in all shapes and sizes, from swords, knives, spears, bows, maces, hammers, sickles, clubs, chains, brass knuckles, and many, many more. When a piglin child reaches the equivalent of one year of age, their main adult caretakers, blood-related or not, will bring them into the village forge, and begin construction on the child's morai-kelul in a very sacred series of rituals that take months to complete. The construction always involves at least some amount of gold, a spiritual, coveted metal to piglins. Once the weapon is forged, it is named for an aspirational virtue or concept that their caretakers wish to impart to them, such as "bravery," "insight," "candor," etc.

As the piglin grows and changes over time, however, the first morai-kelul forged by their caretaker(s) will eventually break. This happens to everyone at some point in their lives, and is a very painful event mentally and emotionally. When this happens, the piglin must construct a new morai-kelul with the pieces of the old one, which always takes a form different from the first. A spear might become a dagger, an axe might become a crossbow, a sword might become a shield, etc. Outside of this event, morai-kelul are indestructible by most normal means unless their piglin dies, in which case they become a normal, inanimate object.

Unlike Overworlders and their daemons, there is no limit to how far a piglin can travel away from their morai-kelul, and they can summon them from over great distances. The only exceptions to this are traveling from the Nether to the Overworld, the Overworld to the End or the Nether, or traveling between servers; if a piglin tries to go between servers or dimensions without their morai-kelul, they will instantly become like a zombie, with a living body but no conscious mind.

Piglins have no issue with touching each other's morai-kelul. In fact, it is common for piglins, especially the children, to go up to someone with a really cool-looking one and ask to hold it so they can examine it more closely. However, the morai-kelul must be handed to them in order for them to hold it. For example, if Philza tried to pick up Aleksaix off the table or off the ground, he would not be able to; Technoblade would need to hand it to him in order for him to carry it properly. Mates swap morai-kelul during their wedding ceremonies, and fighting with someone else's morai-kelul is considered the highest show of intimacy and trust a piglin can display.

Morai-kelul do not speak with an audible voice like facets such as daemons do. Rather, they communicate in projected feelings and images. Normally, only its piglin half can communicate directly with it, but if it is being held by someone else, it can communicate with that person as well. They also are always referred to as "it" rather than with gendered pronouns.

Technoblade is wary, blunt and insincere. Aleksaix embodies his idealistic, sensitive, trusting side.

NAME MEANING "Aleksaix" means "responsibility" in the piglin tongue. It is rather uncommon for piglins to freely tell others the name of their morai-kelul without knowing them well first, so Technoblade has taken to saying the name of his is Orphan Obliterator as in inside joke. Very few people are familiar enough with piglin culture to call him on this.

probably gonna delete this later but holy shit i fucking hate dreamwastaken so much especially his stupid new server. fucking listen to me right now. taking into consideration that dream is not copying off qsmp and has been working on this server for some time, its still bullshit.

first off everyone trying to say that theres a difference between bi-lingual and multilingual — quackity has said on stream that hes planning to make qsmp multilingual as well, with ccs that speak other languages being able to join. so shush about that.

secondly, all that aside, announcing united smp so close to qsmp’s start is in incredibly poor taste regardless, without even an acknowledgement of qsmp in the official announcement tweet, especially since dream and quackity are supposed to be friends. if he’d bothered at all to hire a PR team, it could have been done much more tactfully, but as usual, dream has opted to wing it, leading to just being a shitty person (see also: his tantrums during mcc, his inability to ignore cheating accusations).

furthermore, the difference between qsmp and usmp is that qsmp is a passion project — quackity is trying to introduce his culture and language to a wider audience, and create a space where he can play with all his friends, spanish-speaking and english-speaking. dream, on the other hand, is a monolingual white man who is clearly trying to take advantage of the passion people have for language and culture to earn him more clout, and hopefully erase people’s memories of every terrible thing he’s ever done. I understand the concept of a multilingual server is exciting — but seriously, watch qsmp instead. theres more love in it.

finally, all of this aside — dream is still a groomer. its pretty insane how you guys ignored that. in fact, one of his motivations behind united smp is probably to expand to a less english-speaking audience who is less likely to be aware of the accusations. please don’t let this fool you — united smp is not a sign of redemption, its a distraction. dont support it.

You and Tommy finally made yourselves official in late 2021 as the Dream SMP fandom had started dying out. You waited for a while for the hype to go down because of toxic fans and weirdos online who'd care too much about your relationship, and everything turned out fine.

Most of your social media feeds were filled with support, but of course, there were always some hate comments here and there, from yours or Tommy's "fans" about each other. There was a toxic side to every fanbase, and you'd both go to great lengths to try and deal with it. After a while, you both stopped caring and accepted that giving those people attention only drove it further.

But, the toxicity was small, the love and support for you two being together was ten times larger, and that's all you could care about. From fanart and fanfiction to deep dive analysis' on Tumblr connecting your real selves to your characters, it was cute in all honesty. What was even cuter in your opinion was compilations of "adorable y/s/n moments for ____ minutes straight" videos.

You regularly binged those videos, even on stream, even with Tommy. That's what started the constant teasing and bickering from your friends. They were playfully annoyed at the two of you, which also led the community to do the same, which made him trend at #10 on Twitter for the day.

You were both grateful for your communities, and the opportunities and memories you could share online because of it.

But now, you're recording a vlog with Tommy, Freddie, and Tubbo as you hang around an arcade for the day. You split into two teams, You and Freddie v Tommy and Tubbo, to see who could win the most tickets in an hour. You and Freddie quickly went to grinding up tickets on Dance Dance Revolution, while the two T's went to try and get tickets off the basketball shooters.

You look back at Tommy, failing to make a ball in the basket behind you, Tubbo next to him, reminding him of his awful aim. You lightly smile and turn back to Freddie, already judging you with his facial expression.

“What?” You question

The boy with the dyed orange hair looks between you and the blonde across the room, an eyebrow raised.

“You’re both annoying”

“Shush”

You look back at Tommy, lightly chuckling as he and Tubbo begin throwing the balls at each other, aiming for the face. Freddie snaps you back to DDR, wanting to win free lunch.

"C'mon, Y/n/n, I can't carry this myself!" He lightheartedly laughs, pulling you into another round.

As you're playing DDR with Freddie, back to Tommy and Tubbo, the blonde begins to get distracted by you as well. He widely smiles, watching you bounce around on the mat while you focus on the game.

"Look at Y/n" He whispers to Tubbo, watching you with hearts in his eyes. "They're having so much fun"

Tubbo rolls his eyes. "Tommy, we need to get tickets, stop swooning over your partner"

"It can wait!"

"Half of our time is already gone!"

"I'm enjoying my view of my very happy partner, Tubbo. I'm buying lunch anyways"

The shorter brunette groans, "I'm getting a slushie then, have fun staring at them and looking like a creep"

Tommy quickly blinks before running after him, "Tubbo, no, wait!"

It’s been a while. Life has been a whirlwind of hurricanes and tornadoes mixed with occasional sunshine and rainbows recently, and I’ve been tackling everything I can. (Congrats on making it through another academic year, and for completing finals).

Not to beat a dead horse here, but I just wanted to input my thoughts on the q.smp bs happening.

Obviously, I hope all the workers who were wronged and never fairly compensated for their free labor, win their lawsuit and get more than what they’re owed for dealing with that narcissistic, egotistical, clout-chasing fuck. Now that I’ve said that, moving on to my thoughts.

I’ve seen discussion on how many servers are popping up post-dsmp era, and I have some thoughts on that.

Pre-dsmp, the only other SMP I heard of was Hermit-craft SMP. Then, we went through a deadly, lengthy, life-altering, and generational changing pandemic, which forced the world inside. The dsmp arose out of that, cause with everyone being at home, there wasn’t much to do. The gaming sphere/streaming sphere was dominant in a way I’d never seen it before, and it was incredible to witness. Minecraft especially experienced a resurgence, and Mr. Greenman himself was a huge part of that-through manhunts and the dsmp.

Unlike the nature of the q.smp, and some of these other short-lived smps, the dsmp started authentically. It was originally a server meant for Dteam to play on together and just have fun with each other. Then Dream added some of his friends and those friends knew people who they thought would enjoy the server and it just kept growing. Eventually, when all these people were added, the lore started, and that took the server to new heights and popularity (everyone loves a good story, regardless of the method of storytelling).

Dream himself never streamed his perspective, so as not to take away viewers from the notably smaller streamers on the SMP (which is opposite of a certain duckwhodoesntquack who only streams his perspective). He was also an active member in creating the lore/storylines of not only his character, but others as well (a certain unapologetic abusive cc was a big part, as well but we don’t talk about “Bruno”). Again, this is opposite of the q.smp, as the owner had people write the lore for him, and then was also never satisfied with what was written.

I think one of the biggest differences was the dsmp wasnt meant to be a roleplay server. It happened cause the people occupying the server wanted to do it, and made that decision on their own. It wasn’t marketed as a “passion project” so there wasn’t much build-up and hype for its release/existence (until after the lore started, and then it became more hyped). There was no competing server of its kind, cause the only other one that most people knew about had long since been established-the notoriety, popularity, and clout was already there, and didn’t need to be earned.

And the biggest difference of them all, no one got payed. There were not “workers” meant to move the server along; everything happened via the streamers themselves. So although there were some communication issues, there were no legal issues cause no one was being payed, unless you streamed playing it on a streaming site and made the money through donos.

It breaks my heart watching the q.smp play out like this, cause if it was done in good faith and genuineness, it could’ve been so good-bridging language barrier gaps and creating endless opportunities to learn a language you don’t know, and/or a culture you also don’t know-but it fell victim to a greedy owner and all good qualities were made null. I hate that this is how it transpired, especially for those that were working for free, and everyone who got doxxed/swatted over this.

TLDR; dsmp’s authenticity, genuineness, lack of greed from the owner played into what made it so successful. They’re also the reason it can’t be replicated, because it wasn’t manufactured- it just happened. And that’s why all these other servers have failed before they started, only lasted a bit of time, or ended up buckling under the consequences of the decisions of the owner. Dsmp is THAT girl and she will always be.

Yeah I 100% agree i think something that a lot of newer servers lack is genuine authenticity that isn't built off of an expectation or hope of fame. the dsmp was never even supposed to be something other than a chill server between the dteam so obviously their intentions when just starting out were nothing but pure. However, there is no denying that anyone who made a server after that had the fame of the dsmp in the back of their mind- it's just impossible with how famous the server got.

And with how sterile the qsmp felt with how much the rp was pushed onto the streamers and the fact that there was essentially a business being run through the server, it killed the authentic feeling of everything (if it was even there to begin with)

I love how C!Schlatt's relationships with Connor and Quackity contrast each other. Schlatt and Connor are terrible business partners. Schlatt's intimidation or charm are both undercut by Connor's awkwardness in conversation while Connor's ability to be stealthy and look for details in things is undercut by Schlatt's dramatics. They disagree on everything, from literally selling their company to the most minor aesthetic choices. And I feel like that is kind of the reason they work. They ground each other. They became a team after Connor burned the money from Schlatt's most successful business venture when it went too far into pointless cruelty (restructuring the whole thing to be about scamming Connor, refusing to give people the worthless currency he made up.) Connor keeps Schlatt from falling too far into his addictions or paranoia, Schlatt keeps Connor actually from drifting into isolation. This is better demonstrated when they're split up than when they're together. When they split in Tekkit, Schlatt has all the other members killed to protect his company and begins manufacturing alcohol, while Connor goes off to work on Weed X without speaking to anyone. We all know what happens with Manberg, and while Connor is on the Dream SMP he actively avoids speaking to people (robbing them instead of asking for things) and most of his conversations are caused by a situation he cannot get out of (the home disputes, torture, the prison, and the entire server's imminent destruction.) They actively grind each other's normal lives to a halt, resulting in complete material failure and the most healthy mental states either of them will ever have.

This compared to Schlatt and Quackity's relationship. Both are politcally intelligent, outwardly charismatic people with high ambition. They can work together like clockwork, and they were doomed from the start. Quackity has always wanted respect, whether in the form of appreciation and being listened to or later in the form of fear and awe. Schlatt understood Quackity (he offered unconditional vote pooling compared to Wilbur, he literally spoke to him in his language, and he seems aware of Q's public persona and charisma in the way he refers to him as Quackity in public discussions and Alex in their private talk) but it's unlikely he ever really respected him. He never assigned Quackity a job in Manberg other than "have a fat ass" and he became increasingly hostile about Q's appearance and behavior as they went on. On Quackity's end, (not framing this as a fault but rather why the relationship went up in shambles) he spent the majority of their time together trying to placate Schlatt, starting almost immediately after the election. He thinks in the same way as Schlatt, and when he disagreed he usually handled it indirectly, (breaking Niki out of prison when he wasn't looking, trying to soothe or distract him when he was angry, etc) causing Schlatt to descend a self destructive path with nothing to slow him down. In both of his healthy close relationships before, with Connor as his partner and Ty as a son kind of, there was a point where Schlatt went too far and they forcefully intervened (the diamond burning and the stabbing respectively.) Schlatt didn't have that with Quackity, or anyone on the Dream SMP for that matter.

ok im bad at staying focused . QUICK WEIRD HEADCANONS

With Players, upon respawning, the fatal wound is healed, so they don't fall into a slow and painful death-loop. Smaller non-fatal wounds are kept, but usually are scabbed or healed over. You can feel the pain of both. More powerful Admins can prevent most scarring and mark-leaving injuries entirely.

Scar has a curse that makes him retain all scars and injuries, regardless of death, or intervention. Only manually healing and treating wounds can help. Something he, typically, does not take the time to do.

Grian is partially deaf, with tinnitus, in part to . both Yandere High School and his love for tnt. He uses hearing aids and hides batteries for them...everywhere. including on people. he can just grab Mumbo or Scar and pull out a pair of hearing aid batteries from somewhere on their clothes, no matter the outfit. He knows Japanese and British sign language.

Stress is comedically always somewhere in the distance from Iskall. they say something stupid and you can just vaguely hear Stress shout something correcting them, or laughing at them.

Players have different religions. Players that spent most of their time in Survival, single player, normal servers, usually say "Oh my Dev", or "Oh my Void" interchangeably. Some massive Servers do not allow Players to leave until a certain age. those Servers usually have some variation of god. Gord (Yandere high school), Dream XD (dreamsmp), Lady Irene (minecraft diaries), etc. it is. human nature to rediscover religion i guess

Chat, which represents youtube comment section and live stream messages, are little vexes and wisps of code with intelligence. not quite alive, but vaguely sentient and omnipresent. They can take control of different things. Only some people can hear them, and unless you're a Vex hybrid, you cannot hear other people's chats. You can, however, see them when they're manifested as things.

Grian's Chat takes a different form to talk to him every season. His Chat started in Evo SMP, as sentient clayballs. Season 6 of Hermitcraft, baby chickens. Season 7, parrots. Season 8, eggs. Season 9, pebbles and rocks.

Scar's Chat just doesn't try to hide. They're Vexes. so is Cubs.

Doc's was creepers. they were still hostile, his Chat would just speak through them before they exploded or die. they found it hilarious. They have since changed to be goats.

Xisuma's appears as messages inside his helmet, while also talking to him.

Joe's chat is a comedical mix of things. Some are floating dish rags like ghosts. Some are just lime green panes of glass. Right now (s9/empires crossover) they are the cats. Usually they don't bother with a form.

Ren's Chat are dogs, AND dog stuffed animals. some of Chat didn't get the memo and thats ok.

(also, tViking's design reminds me a bit of eFalse, and roenais's Empires animation to this song lives in my head rent-free)

Sleepwalk: "bad thoughts give me bad dreams and my bad dreams make me get up and walk. bad thoughts give me bad dreams and my bad dreams make me sleepwalk." // oh my god Ruby and Sapphire. the ominous mood encapsulates everything about Sapphire to me, especially before we knew who Saph actually is and she was just "Ruby sleepwalks and leaves ominous signs". it's dark and foreboding and i love it.

[..] i will replace you, replace you, replace you [..] and i won't care when they get hurt, no i don't care, just put me to work!" // Viking is, uh. a lot. hyperfocused to the point of self-destruction. this does bleed over to Ruby too, though, what with zir being desperate to be something Viking won't throw away when he stops seeing zir as useful and Navigator's warning of "don't let him break you". i guess the real question is: would Viking care if they get hurt?

Reliable Narrator: "did you forget that i am not a pacifist? the scar we'll earn from that will be well worth it. did you-- hypnosis, bring roses, don't blow this [..] the bruising will be worth the freedom i have earned from letting everything burn!" // basically every Ruby song on here is "Ruby is going through it". there's a tension here. very fun to have this song on here though considering Sapphire sign "I am a unreliable narrator, am I not?"

Crossing the Rubicon: "fill me out a prescription for this existential dread, i woke up into a nightmare and i'm hoping that you'll take me back to bed [..] fill me out a prescription, can you free me from this curse? i woke up inside your compass and you're navigating us from east to worst [..] something's got to give, we've gone too far to turn back" // this has been a Viking song for ages but never made it onto my dViking playlist for some reason. it works better here, i think. there's going to be a tipping point where you cross the point of no return.

"if the worm is gonna turn it's none of my concern" is said by Viking in this context though. famous last words before Ruby (or Sapphire?) decks him. fun fact: this was one of the first songs i associated with tViking specifically, back during the first lore scene, but i went "ehhh???" on it. then we got to see a bit more of him and... yeah. this guy is asking for it.

Aren't We All Running: [instrumental] // there's a couple instrumentals on here because of talking to Solar about how character playlists rarely have instrumentals and i wanted to have a couple of rest points. i love the slow build here and the overall mood. montage music.

My beloved anon im sorry it took me this long. But i am lazy. No other reason really. So i am now chronicling this dhit on my phone. And oh fuck dude is it a trip

SO. this fuckery began with quackity announcing the QSMP. He did so on the 17th of march and whatever the fuck. He mentioned it earlier than this (edit: just checked but the First announcements was the 10th)

And this is all great. New server that fucks. But what truly started all this. Was dream's tweet on his private twitter.

Im gonna try to be kinda impartial qnd jus. Explain it all as is but first i gotta say who says this shit lmao. So quackity announces his new project and is very passionate about it, he tweets more on his alt(?) About how much it means to him to bring his two languages spanish and english together. And dream on private is like 'wow cool! Guys dont get mad at me when i announce the same thing later tho haha' its just so weird.

But anyways. The usmp wasnt even A Thing. Only written instance of dream makin a multilingual server was in a tweet defending himself from copying quackity. (Altho he allegedly mentions in streams or whatever wanting yo do things w other ppl from other languages? But that shit dont count n im not diggin audio n videos out fuck that).

The actual, official announcement of dream makin a usmp was april 2nd (idk why this says the 3rd but whatever) wherein he announces the 'first multilingual smp' with a list of languages that will be on it such as portugese, spanish, english, russian, etc. And that it has live translation.

The same day, quackity releases a tweet labelling the qsmp as the 'first multilingual smp' and that he is introducing a live translation system to it. Mr beast connects that the usmp and qsmp are similar to which dream responds. Quackity doesnt respond, nor does he acknowledge the usmp at all.

Dream's response is essentially theyre different in that qsmp is spanish and english, he announced his live translator first, they had 'similar good ideas'.

So. This sparked a lot of drama and discussion. Because of the 'first multilingual' bit in that people began discrediting qsmp as it was 'only' english and spanish, and therefore was bilingual and not multilingual. Altho others countered thid by saying quackity himself called it a multilingual server in his streams. Not to mention the idea that the translator was copied but regardless both those things are kinda stupid arguments and just drama inspired by the comparisons.

More notably is that dream team were making fun of the 'first multilingual server' bit after this. Dream was liking some jokes at it as well

Dream also liked some. Vaguely sexual/romantic 'they should just kiss already' art of him and quackity?

Also after this dream started somewhat addressing/replying to quackity more. Quackity didnt respond to any of it.

Dream also tweeted this on his private the day after

Most narrowed in on the 'this wouldnt have happened without quackity' and was often interpretted as dream saying quackity HELPED him w it in some way or that there was more collab behind the scenes but we will find that to be false. Because. On april 27th. Dream dropped his magnum opus. Which i will include in one screenshot.

Anyways i seriously encourage reading the full thing here because its. Something. Theres so much. It is literally 1.7k words. A lot of it is repetitive but i will. Try. To summarize it.

Essentially dream is writing that he has been trying to contact quackity for some time now with no response. He has been messaging him about how theyve ended up with similar servers (therefore noting that neither one know of the other). This gets nothing. Dream tries contacting quackity more publically with jokes. Nothing. He starts going through secondary sources by talkin to ppl to message quackity for him (i think some people who dream knows that are on the qsmp. Unsure who) but quackity doesnt say shit. Dream is being absolutely ghosted.

Im also noting this last paragraph in his first tweet where he describes being 'taken back' when quackity announces the qsmp live translator after his usmp announcement, because he 'knew it would cause more drama'.

He says he messages quackity so they can plan how to deal with the 'vitriol' between the teo 'communities' and that the drama can be solved with 'communication'. He is ghosted. He also mentions that he puts the usmp 'on hold' in the 2nd tweet so it all can be dealt with and he can 'extend love and support to quackity'. Most notably he says that its alluded that quackity wouldnt let ppl who were on the usmp couldnt be on the qsmp which dream tries to say makes sense for quackity to do.

Theres apparently a fucking image limit on the tumblr app which ive hit so i am now not using images and speedrunning this shit. But im quoting this one thing exactly as its most important:

"That being said, I’ve seen the communities split against each other and have tons of hate build around this and around the speculations of peoples motives and friendships and so on, and it’s really really harmful to the community as a whole. I have seen more threats, doxing, fights, slander, and hate between a bunch of fan bases that I’ve seen in a very long time. I personally have experienced an elevated level of in real life threats & stalkers & even had the police involved in somebody showing up at my house, & even putting trackers on my family vehicles, surrounding this drama, for the first time since pre-face reveal. That’s really why I feel like I have to say something about it despite me wanting to avoid any kind of serious talk about all of this, especially even talking about communication publicly feels wrong but necessary in this instance. I never like to air out anything that feels or is private, but I feel like in this case it’s really important for my fan base to be aware of my intentions, motives, thought process, and how we got to where we are. His last tweet begins with him saying he 'doesnt want anymore drama' and ends eith him saying he loves quackity and believes this is all just a miscommunication.

Now, obviously, shit blew up. Hes been ratiod a few times by people meming it. Ive seen many people on quackity's 'side' saying that the usmp doesnt even exist yet, dream is the one causing drama, etc. And people on dream's 'side' saying quackity is being horrible and needs address this because its caused dream to be in danger. Most importantly. Quackity didnt address it at all.

But then quackity announced he was going live in an hour. And a lot assumed hed say something. But he didnt. His stream was roughly 15 minutes long and it was entirely quackity announcing that he was introducing brazilian/portugese speaking streamers onto the qsmp.

Anyways. Theres a lot of details but my hand hurts now. A big thing is whether qsmp or usmp was 'first'. Imo theres a lot more pointing towards quackity having had this is store for a longass time, as he had been hinting and a project of his for months and more notably the qsmp is so organized and put together i doubt he couldve had it finished up 'after' dream as dream's nonexistent server was an idea he got after that squidcraft thing in early March i think?

More recently (i think today) i saw that quackity apparently took two emojis off his twitch that were dream roblox characters and i saw people freaking out in r/dwt2 about how quackity could be so petty? But ya. My condolences if youve read all this.

I remember seeing this twitter post about the qsmp where Charlie and Foolish were speaking to each other in Spanish. Two English streamers were talking to each other IN SPANISH! That was such a cool thing to see, so seeing all this stuff about Dream using an ai for his server makes me sad because we won’t be able to have stuff like that. We won’t be able to feel the joy of streamers talking to each other in languages their not used to!

yeah!!! the qsmp is very special because there’s such a learning aspect to it. there’s growth!!! i watched foolish’s day one pov and like. his spanish was Very Obviously from a guy who had not thought about it since high school classes. but now i tune in and he’s making a conscious effort to conjugate his words and constantly expanding his vocabulary and it’s SO COOL to see!!! there’s so much joy and love woven into that smp and it’s been running for such a short time all things considered, and all of that is just. null and void with AI translators. they’ll never have those moments. and it says so much about the approach of each server’s creator and their priorities (passion vs attention)

Edit: I forgot to put this in the story, but the reason why Farafadox speaks fluent English is because he studied the English language after becoming acquaintances and then Dreams boyfriend. The same is applied to Dream who is fluent in Spanish due to dating Farafadox.

Farfadox was curious about Dreams tattoos.

He first noticed them when Dream had shown up at a parkour event wearing a black short sleeve shirt, showcasing the tattoos on his left arm. The black snake intertwining between the black roses looked mysterious yet alluring to Farfadox.

As Farfadox hung out around his boyfriend, he noticed other miscellaneous tattoos decorating the dirty blonde's skin. A snake tattoo was intricately wrapped around Dream’s left wrist when he took off his fingerless gloves to adjust them one time in front of Farfadox, he had another rose tattoo on his left shoulder when the two went to the beach with their friends and Dream was wearing a no sleeved shirt.

The most prominent tattoo he had was the one on his back. The tattoo was an assortment of flowers in different shapes and sizes that went from the back of his neck to his tailbone. Farfadox only knew of that tattoo when he accidentally walked into their bedroom one morning and Dream was taking off his shirt. The flustered and panicked look on his boyfriend's face caused Farfadox to quickly leave the room out of respect for his partner’s privacy.

Since then, Dream always changed in the bathroom.

Now, Farfadox would consider himself patient and generally would mind his own business. But the way Dream hid his tattoos and even seemed anxious when they would show through his clothes made Farfadox decide to pop the question one night when the two were preparing for bed.

“Why do you hide your tattoos?” He asked, his eyes watching as Dream tensed up. Anxiety emanated from the dirty blonde's body before he responded with a nervous laugh.

“You’ve never asked me this before,” Dream tried to smile, but it looked forced and even nervous to Farfadox. “Why now?”

“Because…” Farfadox paused, trying to think of how to word what he was going to say before deciding that it was probably for the better to just say it as it is. “I’ve noticed that you always try to cover them, even when you are around your friends and family. It’s as if you see them as nothing but ugly reminders.”

He walked towards Dream, noticing how the dirty blonde seemed to be shaking, and proceeded to wrap him in a hug. “I….if there is a reason why you have them, I would like to know. And no matter what, I would like to help you through whatever it is your tattoos remind you of; because I had promised that no matter what, I would be there for you every step of the way.”

A heavy silence filled the room, the only sound Farfadox could hear was his boyfriends’ breathing before Dream soon spoke.

“Do you know about the Dream SMP?”

He hummed in response because he knew what the dirty blonde was talking about. The little web series that Dream and his friends had done on Dream's server years ago. How it first started as a petty fight between friends before they decided to turn it into a fleshed-out story filled with lore that each member of the Dream SMP came up with.

He knew that in that web series, Dream played the bad guy who was set trying to unite the server as one big happy family no matter the cost and how many people were hurt by his actions. Even though the Dream he knew and loved would never do those things, some people could not differentiate acting from real people.

“During the part of the series where Quackity was torturing my character. Some people who were obsessed with the series kidnapped me when I had left my server to go see Techno at his Hypixel island.”

“They did not know the entire thing was fake and believed that I hurt a lot of people. So, they decided to take it upon themselves to finish what Quackity ‘started’.”

“I don’t know how long I was down there,” Dream whispered, Farfadox started to feel something wet form on his shirt and realized that Dream was crying. “Getting beaten, branded, starved, they thought they were doing the right thing. Taking care of the tyrant of the Dream SMP.”

“You know I started to believe that everything I did in the series me and my friends came up with was true,” Dream laughed quietly while ice filled Farfadox’s veins. The thought alone that the torture and gaslighting his boyfriend's abusers did to make him believe that he was his fictional character sickened him.

“My friends found me before I was about to bleed to death. They tried their best but not all the scars and brands faded from healing potions and medical treatment.”

“I hated looking at myself in the mirror, seeing all the scars and marks on my body only made me remember what I went through. I wore clothes that covered everything no matter what the weather was like. I just hated what they did to me.” A hiss escaped from Dream's lips at that last sentence, anger seething into his words.

“I hated how they cut me up like I was nothing but a piece of meat, I hated how they laughed at my misery while I choked on my blood, I hated how some of them touched and rough handled me like I wasn’t a person. I hated it all.”

Dream weakly laughed into Farfadox’s chest, clinging onto his boyfriend like he was the only thing keeping the dirty blonde up. All the anger and sadness out of Dream’s body only to make him exhausted in return.

“Quackity didn’t like what happened, how those sickos hurt me because of his character. One day, he took me to the main hub and to a tattoo shop he knew personally. He told me that I could try and see if covering up a scar with a tattoo would help me, and if it did, he could take me again to cover up any more scars I did not want to see anymore.”

“I got this one first,” Dream raised his left wrist to show off the snake tattoo. “And the moment I got it, a small part of me felt better that the scar was covered; that the damage was hidden and I didn’t need to be reminded of what happened.”

“The rest came afterward, and the nightmares of that incident slowly faded away and I got better because of my tattoos.”

“I still have trouble showing them, because a small part of my brain panics and doesn’t remember the tattoos covering the scars and I am thrown back into the fearful state I was in when I was first rescued. Sometimes I look at my tattoos and I love them, other times I hate them because it feels like I decided not to acknowledge what happened and just covered it up.”

“I’m pathetic, aren’t I?” Dream whispered through his tears. “I ran away from my trauma by trying to cover them up with ink and cannot acknowledge that the only reason why I am like this is that I am a terrible per-”

“You are not a terrible person, nor are you pathetic,” Farfadox cut him off gently, exiting the hug to look Dream in the eyes. “You are the most selfless, caring, lovable man that I know. You are not whatever those bastards said, and you never will be.”

“You are a person, you are not meant to be perfect and if you feel like you are just running away from your trauma, that is okay. Everyone doesn’t heal the same. Some heal slower than others and vice versa; healing from a traumatic experience is never a race and there is no distinct pattern when it comes to healing. Everyone copes with trauma differently, but that does not make you pathetic.”

“Let me ask you something. When you first got your tattoo, what did you think of it?” Farfadox watched his boyfriend look at him, confused.

“I…thought it was pretty.”

“Did you then think that it covered up your scar well?”

“No, not until Quackity mentioned it after we left the shop. I then noticed it covered up the scar.”

Dream still looked confused at what Farfadox was trying to tell him. But Farfadox still wanted to confirm one more thing before giving his answer.

“Did you want to get more tattoos because you thought they would look nice on you?”

“Yes, I guess I did-Farfadox what are you trying to tell me?”

“You got your other tattoos because they looked pretty, because they made you look beautiful. Your scars were an afterthought when you went to get your tattoos, but you slowly started to think that because you had tattoos that covered up your scars, that was why you kept getting them. You started to hate the one thing that was making you feel confident in yourself, that made you start to heal and get over your trauma.”

“Dream, you are beautiful with those tattoos; and you are beautiful with your scars. You are beautiful to me, and I will say this to you every single day until you start to realize that you are beautiful just the way you are right now.”

Silence filled the room once again as Farfadox started to catch his breath after going on his spiel. Dream had his head down and wasn’t saying anything, which made Farfadox worried that he scared his boyfriend and only made things worse.

That was until...

“Say that again, please?” Dream whispered. He lifted his head to look at his boyfriend with glassy eyes that looked…hopeful.

“You are beautiful,” Farfadox said softly, wiping away Dreams tears that started to cascade down the dirty blonde's cheeks at Farfadoxs heartfelt words. “Gorgeous, stunning, irresistible in my eyes. You are all I need, and I will love you no matter what happens in the years to come. I will be with you every step of the way because you are worth it.”

They spent the rest of the night cuddling in bed with Farfadox whispering soft words of comfort and saying how beautiful Dream was to him.

And if a couple of months later, Farfadox noticed that Dream was starting to wear clothes that showed his tattoos. He didn’t say anything. Instead, he just smiled.
