Summary:

Draco catches Blaise cheating, breaks up with him and decides to leave his French Villa behind to swap houses with a woman named Hermione and her husband Ron. His relaxing vacation becomes far more interesting when a handsome stranger (Harry) knocks at his door in the middle of the night. They meet and get to know each other, and suddenly Draco feels much better about his decision to leave France behind for Britain.

This is based off of the movie "The Holiday" my favorite romcom EVER!

Excerpt:

“So you aren’t quite yourself? May I ask why?”

“Well, I uh…I just sort of broke up with my live-in boyfriend of a few years. Yesterday.” Draco admitted returning to Harry.

“Ah…” came a noise of understanding.

“And well I guess what I was thinking was that I didn’t want to be alone over the holidays and so I thought that if I was somewhere different I would feel better. Because then maybe I wouldn’t realize that I was alone. But then I got here, and I have never felt more alone in my entire life. Big surprise.” Draco said with a slightly self deprecating laugh. “Bet you’re glad you knocked on this door,” Draco said as he handed the blankets to Harry, stopping near enough that their breath could mingle.

“I am, actually.” Harry agreed wholeheartedly, and seemed as sober as he had been that entire night. So Draco felt like he could believe what the man had said. Draco swore he saw Harry looking at his lips, and he licked them nervously, unable to stop his gaze from looking at Harry’s in return.

“Yeah…well…” Draco chuckled uncertainly, “Sorry. And good night.”

“Sweet dreams,” Harry whispered, leaning closer to Draco, and their lips met in a kiss. It was a nice, gentle kiss that caught Draco very much by surprise. Harry seemed surprised himself as his eyes opened and he pulled away, confusion written on his face. Harry sighed loudly as Draco stood there looking stunned and curious, but not angry. Draco closed his eyes as he let the sensation sink in, then he smiled nervously at Harry as he spoke to the man.

“Um…do you think you could…” Draco said with a small chuckle. “Would you mind…kissing me again?”

Harry didn’t say anything, just looked at Draco curiously before obliging. Draco kept his eyes open but found it interesting that Harry’s eyes closed yet again. This kiss was gentle and very enjoyable, especially since Draco was prepared for it, but it still felt weird to enjoy the kiss of a stranger this much. As they pulled away, Draco nearly fell into Harry, not wanting any more space between them, but he moved further away, thinking.

“That bad?” Harry asked, slightly worried.

Draco didn’t say anything for a minute, he just looked confused and sighed loudly. “Just odd.” Draco admitted as he sat down on the couch.

Harry sat down next to him, staring at Draco intently.

“Kissing a complete and total stranger,” Draco murmured thoughtfully.

Harry made a face of disbelief before replying, “Seriously? I do it often; like I did it last night. And just now.”

Draco closed his eyes again and sighed. “Hmmm…Let me try it, I am intrigued.” Draco said, turning to face Harry. Harry stayed still and let Draco kiss him, letting Draco deepen the kiss as he saw fit. This kiss was still gentle but more exploratory and it lasted longer. Draco pulled away after a bit, still very thoughtful. “Maybe…umm what if I close my eyes?” Draco suggested.

Harry nodded, ready to try again, clearly enjoying this experiment process. As Draco closed his eyes, Harry started to move towards the other man’s face, taking Draco by surprise as the other man’s hands gently caressed his cheeks. Draco kept his eyes closed, feeling safe enough with Harry to let him take the lead if he wanted. As Draco felt Harry pull him closer, he felt another sensation as well, Harry’s lips softly pressing against his eyelids. Draco bit back a moan at the unique sensation but he couldn’t stop himself from gasping at the contact and his mouth reached for Harry’s as the man trailed kisses down his cheeks. Their lips met in a few gentle kisses at first but Draco quickly bent to give Harry the ability to deepen their kiss. Harry took the movement as permission and deepened their kiss, holding onto Draco’s face gently as he did so. Draco pulled away slowly, still thinking about this scenario.

“So, considering that I am in the midst of an emotional crisis, and here in a place that I have rarely been, living in a strange couples house. I am thinking, maybe I should do something out of the ordinary, something even more spontaneous than this trip. And well you are incredibly handsome and ridiculously attractive, plus you are rather drunk so you won’t remember if it’s bad or not…I think…we should have sex.” Draco offered and backtracked a little as Harry’s eyes widened in shock. “If you are up for it that is.”

Harry stared at Draco, eyes wider than they had been at Draco’s words. “Do you really have to ask that question? I feel like my answer is obvious…” Harry chuckled.

Draco pushed his hair out of his face nervously before replying, “Well I don’t know, you could just be another incredibly friendly straight guy.” Draco said it as a question while he pressed his forehead to Harry’s, tugging gently on the man’s tie as he spoke.

“Nope, I’m bi. And intensely interested in you,” Harry replied in a husky voice as he moved his face so that their lips were almost touching.

“Good to know. So shall we then? I mean I am on vacation after all. Wouldn’t be a real vacation from my life without doing something very out of character.” Draco said in a husky voice.

“I was with you…up until the whole I have to disappear forever thing. Now I just feel used.” Harry chuckled.

“Well I mean I guess we can see how the night goes then, yeah?” Draco said as he pulled Harry by his tie back within kissing distance. Draco almost pushed Harry backwards onto the couch with the ferocity of his kisses, Draco wanted to feel every inch of this man, explore every inch…something about Harry just called to him. They were just about to get into a rhythm when Draco pulled away, his anxieties getting the better of him.

“Speaking of the night, I feel like I should tell you that…well I am not good at this.”

“What do you mean?” Harry asked confused, staring longingly at Draco’s lips.

“Um…well…sex, I am not good at it,” Draco admitted feeling himself blush.

Harry shook his head at that, no longer listening to Draco. “I absolutely refuse to believe that.”

Draco sighed and kept talking. “Well believe it or not, but my ex told me this a few times during our relationship. And it’s not something that one forgets easily… But, um anyway.” Draco sighed, happy to have all of that out, and the fact that Harry was still looking at him as if he was interesting, made his heart speed up. Draco went in to kiss Harry again and the man responded eagerly. They kissed for almost a full minute before Draco pulled away again.

“Maybe you are right. Sex isn’t exactly science, how bad could I be?” Draco asked as Harry nodded his head in agreement at the last words. “Have I talked you out of this?” Draco asked.

“Oddly enough, no.” Harry shook his head. “Though I am curious as to your thoughts on foreplay?”

“I have always found it to be overrated. Significantly so.” Draco was staring at Harry’s lips again.

“And with that, you are definitely the most interesting man I have ever met,” Harry admitted with a slight giggle.

HD Sudsfest Week Two

Week two of HD Sudsfest 2022 has been a glorious deep-dive into the world of washing and bathing, exploring love, lust, grief, healing, and so much more. If you’ve had a busy week and missed anything, then get cosy and enjoy!

The only problem was this: the forests surrounding the waters were thick with potential danger– a shelter for rogue death eaters and rabid, unregistered Weres, ready to pounce on a vulnerable and unassuming prey. Harry– Auror on patrol overseeing this month's rituals– was unprepared to face the Veela he would be guarding tonight.

Somehow, Harry had forgotten to ward out Draco when he boarded up his house to keep out everyone else. Despite having plenty of reasons to leave Harry to his own destruction, Draco just couldn't. Not after loving him for so long, even if Harry didn't love him back anymore. He just had to get Harry to let Hermione in and then he could leave this cold version of the home he loved for half a decade.

Wireless fic claim: A Case of You (E, 97k)

I am so excited to claim this because I made a PLAYLIST encapsulating the ~*vibes*~ of the story (which ended up being melancholy 2010s indie-pop). I listened to it on repeat while writing & I’ve wanted to share it the entire time the fic has been up because it’s for Wireless & runs on music! Ofc, this playlist is in addition to the entire album Blue by Joni Mitchell, which inspired the fic.

This is my first fic back in fandom after 15 years. Thank you to everyone who’s read it—it means the world to me.

Summary:

Draco was doing just fine working as an Unspeakable in Paris, hanging out with his living and ghostly pals, inventing new spells, and definitely not thinking about Potter. Then, Lucius just had to break out of prison and turn his world upside down.

Now, Draco has to return to England, where he is forced to confront how family ties bind us—and one infuriatingly fit Harry Potter.

A snippet:

“No, no.” Potter ran a hand through his hair. “I don’t think … I don’t want you to be alone tonight?”

The familiar stinging rose behind Draco’s eyes. “What are you fucking doing, Potter?”

Potter held his hands up. “I’m not doing anything. Just come to bed with me? Er, non-sexually?”

Draco choked out something half between a laugh and a sob. Potter grabbed his hand again and Draco said, “Alright.”

Once they were firmly ensconced in Potter’s bed, carefully not touching, the constellations still swimming gently above Draco, Draco murmured bitterly, “I can see why you’ve been so lonely, doing this.”

Potter sighed and reached across the duvet, his fingertips just grazing Draco’s side. “I’m a bit less lonely now.”
