so when the two of you move in, and you eventually, into his bed, doppo would simply hug you instead

you were his replacement pillow, except a whole lot more comfy and warm. he’d never have the desire to let you go, even on days when he had to begrudgingly get out of bed and rush out the door

he takes in your scent and nuzzles into your hair; it’s so nice and comforting, and he notices it’s the exact bottle he had bought earlier that week (it brings a smile to his tired face)

your pajamas are super duper cute on you, and the way it rides up and reveals a bit of skin is all the more adorable, he thinks

doppo loves to just stick his hands underneath of course, to pat your stomach to rub gentle circles. your skin is so soft, feels so good on his hands

you’re so warm, it gives his butterflies (actually, he’s just stealing your warmth and you feel yourself freezing up)

and he loves cute little flutter kisses up and down your neck, not needy or anything suggestive. doppo just wants love, to love you, so late at night or early in the morning

doppo could stay with you in his arms forever and ever, so warm and safe. you were his guardian angel, he was sure of it

you were in a super big major dilemma right now. you had to pee, really badly, except you couldn’t. your boyfriend had you wrapped up in a tight hug, one that was absolutely impossible to escape. and his legs were tangled up in yours, every which way that was anatomically possible. it was one puzzle after the next in trying to escape doppo’s hug.

“doppo.”

he still doesn’t hear, deep in dreamland. you wonder what he could possibly be dreaming about (it was actually your guys’ wedding, but he’s too flustered to say that the next morning when he recalls). and you can feel him breathing down your neck, so softly that you know he’s at peace for once.

you actually feel a bit bad in trying to wake him when he needed sleep the most. even with your back to him, you can picture the content smile. it’d be the cutest if you could see.

ughh, your bladder is getting more disgruntled.

so you try to fight your way out of doppo’s oh so warm grasp. it’s difficult, and quite frankly, you had no idea that doppo was even this strong (since when was he getting his nutrients in?). he’s tough, and you eventually have to try to wiggle yourself out and untangle the mess that was your legs.

only for him to wake up.

“..eh? y/n??” bless his soul — he’s confused in that cute still half-asleep way. doppo can’t even open his eyes all the way, rubbing them to no avail. he simply felt you leave his grasp and immediately woke up, concerned as can be.

“i just have to go to the bathroom doppo,” you quickly murmur, already halfway out the room. “i’ll be right back-”

“alright..”

and he stays awake for the few minutes you’re gone, perhaps a bit pouty. he feels bad, perhaps guilty even, but doppo seems unable to sleep without you beside him even for just a few minutes. he’s not entirely wide awake, but doppo is aware now.

when you come back, he immediately hugs you back into bed, legs already all tangled up and face nuzzled into the crook of your neck. your scent is hypnotic, enough to lure him back to sleep, and his arms have already enveloped your chest.

his grip is tight, again, and before long doppo dozes off. he can’t sleep without you now, you’ve come to realize.

Synposis: You two met by chance and one thing after the other comes up ever since. This is your fated meeting with Doppo Kannonzaka.

It was still in Doppo’s ears when he had entered one of the bars on his way home. Honestly, he probably would have headed straight home yet Hifumi was busy tonight with his host job, so there was no rush to return home. He honestly just wanted to forget, maybe drown his sorrows in one way or another. What other choice did he have at this point? None, really. Besides, forgetting for a little while would not be so bad, would it? Yeah, as long as he did not go overboard and found his way home. He had to take himself home after all so he couldn’t overdo it. And honestly… He didn’t have the energy to overdo it to begin with.

Soon he had entered the next best bar, the cheapest he knew at the very least, taking a few steps inside to sit on one of the bar stools, right at the counter of the bar. He let out a deep sigh as he did. The bartender had already spotted him. “Hey, haven’t seen you in a long time ‘round here.”

“Hello… I’ve been… Busy…” Was the salaryman’s response, very weak, defeated. Honestly, he just couldn’t bother with it any longer… The voice of his boss’s head was still echoing in his very own ear, very loudly. A little too loudly perhaps. It all always boiled down to being a ‘good for nothing’ yet getting all the workload on his desk, being worked to his bone. Then again, if he was to turn into a skeleton all of a sudden, the boss would still put the work on his desk or demand that he would be on time. Probably even call and scream “Kannonzaka!” from the top of his lungs and demanding that he would show up as soon as possible. That was just the type of person his boss was and said boss always managed to give Doppo a hard time.

The bartender seemed to know. “Busy hah? The old man’s treatin’ you like an animal as usual?” He had asked which was meant with a nod.

“Ya want the usual then?” And another quick nod from the salaryman. “A’right, ya got it. Be right back!”

And then Doppo had been left to his own devices yet again. And all he did was complain and sulk in his mind, having to hold back to curse from his mouth. And yet, he couldn’t. He found himself mumbling under his own breath, one thing after the other. “No matter what I do, it’s no use… I’m just the errand boy for everything now!” He mumbled, though also somewhat yelling. It was frustrating. And yet, there was nothing he could do at the end of the day. Nothing at all! “Everything… Even if I do a horrible job… I should be grateful to not have been replaced by now. A good for nothing. Only good enough to do the dirty work and nothing else… Yeah, nothing more. Just for the dirty work… Because if no one else will, let the burning trash do it… As if I could do any—”

Yet before he could get too deep into his speech someone interrupted him. He was silenced in one go, the voice having gotten his attention. It simply told him to calm down, yet in the way it was said had gotten him a little curious. So he turned his face, wanting to see who had been talking to him… Only to see you right in front of him.

At that point you were still a stranger to him, a face unfamiliar. He eyed your facial features, as if studying you closely for a moment. It was just to see if he had happened to come across you before in any way yet nothing. You were more than unfamiliar to him. Yet judging from your outfit, you were an office worker, similar to him. Though that was just his guess, he had not been certain. And yet, he had not the breath to ask nor the energy.

You were looking at him ever so curiously, asking what had gotten him so worked up to begin with yet no response. He was silent, not wanting to bother you with any of his problems. Even if you had asked, he just couldn’t do it. Besides, he already looked pathetic enough, so he didn’t even have to bother to explain himself. And yet, you seemed to press on, wanting to know what was going on. Especially since you had overheard him earlier.

It had put him on the spot, making it somewhat embarrassing. Wait… You have heard him so clearly… So very clearly that you could repeat some of his words, summarize what he had said. And each word made his desire to sink into the ground even bigger. Being heard like this, having opened his mouth… He should never have done that! Never!

And thus, he suddenly bowed while in his seat, over and over. “I’m sorry!” He repeated a few times, bowing each time quickly. He could not spot your reaction yet you seemed to let him for a few moments… That was until you put a stop to it yourself, grabbing him by his shoulders to put his body steady. He had been surprised, looking up as you had decided to reassure him, that he did not have to apologize that much if at all.

“But I bothered you, didn’t I? My words were annoying, I know that.” He tried to explain himself yet you denied it, saying something across the lines of ‘it’s alright to complain once in a while’. You seemed to agree on one thing, that the workplace could be a pain in the ass, thus developing a desire to no longer work where you are.

“Huh? You too?” It came out of his mouth in a bit of a shock, more a surprise if anything. And you nodded in agreement, then continued with your own example. Whichever it was you chose to talk about, some annoying co–worker or your boss who was a pain in the ass. Or the demands others had of you despite being only one person, and thus shoving as much of the workload as possible onto you. In the end the same conclusion could be drawn – It was alright to let off some steam. So you were willing to hear him out, weren’t you?

Though he had not expected it, given how you presented yourself, a bit of a contrast to him. Doppo himself looked sleep deprived, a little pale, as if on the brink of falling asleep. You looked nowhere near his state, or at least a little more awake than him. More like his other co–workers, so he had been a little caught off guard hearing any of that. Of course no workplace was perfect but this much trouble? “I… I see. Sounds rough…” Except it’s more than sounding rough… It is rough!

But you kept on encouraging him, wanting him to unwind a little. He didn’t know why, given that the two of you just met. Maybe you sympathized with him a little? It was a possibility yet he could not be sure. After all, how was he supposed to read your mind? And yet, he seemed to relax a little more, becoming more and more aware that maybe complaining a little bit should be fine…

That was until a drink slid across the counter, the glass hitting the side of his arm. He shrieked for a moment, as if having been startled yet he turned, seeing the bartender once more. “There ya go boy. Wait’s been long enough, hasn’t it?” He asked yet one could see a slight grin on his face. Did the bartender watch or something? Doppo couldn’t help but wonder. Because said bartender usually didn’t take that long. In fact, he never took long at all. So did he not want to interrupt? Wait, why was Doppo questioning so much today? Maybe it was the unusual developments of this evening. At least that had been his best guess.

And before knowing it you insisted on putting this on your own tap. The salaryman wanted to stop you yet you seemed to refuse taking no for an answer. Repayment? Him telling you all about his painful day, no questions asked! And he didn’t have much of a choice, he had to do it!

And yet, maybe letting it all out wouldn’t be so bad. After all, his own hard work usually brought no results… Unlike this conversation.

“For me?” You asked, though you knew they were. This had to be the twentieth present of flowers and notes you’ve received in the past month alone. Not that you were ever going to complain.

The delivery person nodded. “Whoever it is must really like you.”

You nod, feeling your heart flutter in your chest at his words. “Yes, I think he does too.”

As they left, one of your friends stopped on her way back to her desk. She gave you a cheeky grin as she exclaimed, “Ooo, is this from that mystery man who keeps sending you presents? They’re absolutely lovely!”

Chuckling, you nodded, before attempting to get back to work. “Yeah, it is. This is the third delivery this week alone.”

“Ugh, I wish I had a guy like that in my life. You’re a lucky girl, you know.” She sighed dramatically, leaning against the doorframe of your office.

You couldn’t help but blush as you looked at the beautiful red rose bouquet and the simple note that just said: Missing you a lot!

“Yeah, I think I am. I just wish I knew who it was!”

“Well, who do you want it to be?”

Your blush darkened as you thought of a different coworker of yours. “Does it matter? He’s too shy to ever approach me in person, plus he doesn’t even like me like that.”

She grinned before saying in a teasing tone, “Are we talking about one Mr. Doppo Kannonzaka, the best sales rep we have here?”

Gasping, your eyes widened as you hissed, “Shh! Keep it down! He might hear you!”

Laughing, she replied in a mocking, pitiful tone, “Oh girl, you are so whipped for him! Why don’t you just go confess to him already? Wouldn’t that be easier?”

“Because,” you tried to reason with both her and yourself, “I’m already getting these wonderful notes and beautiful flowers. Whoever is sending them seems to really like me. I want to at least give them a shot, you know? I’d hate to lead them on and then break it off as soon as I know who it is.”

She sighed. “I suppose…”

There was a knock at your office door and looking up, you could feel a new, more intense blush creep up the back of your neck. Speak of the devil. “Excuse me, Y/n? I was- oh. Is that a new present from your secret admirer from the office?”

You nodded shyly. “Yeah. It’s so beautiful. I absolutely love it!”

“That’s good.” He responded stiffly, though you paid no attention to the fact. “Well, I just wanted to let you know our boss wants the two of us to stay late tonight to finish up some reports. Is that alright?”

With a smile and a nod, you answer. “Yes, that’s fine. Thank you for telling me.”

Doppo gave a small smile. “Thank you! Dinner’s on me as a thank you.”

“You really don’t have to…”

“I insist!”

“Well if you insist.” You couldn’t help but let out a small giggle. “Thank you.”

“Y-you’re welcome!”

As he walked away, your friend started to chuckle. “So what was that about giving your secret admirer a shot? Sounds like you just scored a date with your crush.”

Rolling your eyes, you tried once again to return to work, ignoring the fluttering of your heart at the idea of tonight being a date. “I still am giving him a chance. This is just me being a good friend and colleague to Doppo. Everyone seems to pile their work on him and I just want to help him out. It’s not a date.”

“Well your secret admirer better step forward soon.” She said simply making her way out the door. “If tonight goes well for the two of you, I can only assume there will be many more dates in the future. Maybe even a ring…”

“It’s not a date!” You called after her as she left, your cheeks a bright shade of scarlet.

With a sigh, you slumped back into your office chair. You seemed to be in quite the conundrum. She was right; if tonight went well, you would hope there would be more chances for the two of you to hang out and maybe date in the future. But at the same time, you still really wanted to give whoever was sending you the notes and flowers a chance at a date. It was the least you could do for everything they did to make your day brighter.

These thoughts plagued your mind as you tried to work. As everyone started to leave for the night, you felt your heart beginning to beat erratically and your palms started to sweat. You had no idea why, but you assumed it was because your friends’ belief that this was a date kept echoing in your mind.

A knock at your door almost made you jump out of your skin, until you realized it was just Doppo. You nodded before making your way to his cubicle, which wasn’t too far from your own. “So, what reports did you need me to help complete?”

You looked behind you to see him wringing his hands together and his eyes looking anywhere but at you. You were about to comment on his anxious state, when he started to speak. “Actually, the paperwork is already done. I, um, did it all during the normal work hours.”

“Oh, okay, s-”

“Actually,” He almost shouted in your face as his anxiety grew. “I wanted to tell you something very important. I-I thought now would be a good time to talk to you since everyone would be gone and we’d be alone. But now that I’m thinking about it, this was a bad idea. I’m so stupid. I never should have listened to Hifumi when he said-”

You give him an encouraging smile as you touch his shoulder. “Doppo, I’m listening.”

“Well, um, you see, uh, the thing is…” He struggled with trying to find the right words. However you were patient and willing to wait for him to say what he wanted to say.

“Take your time. It’s okay.”

As he continued to flounder with what to say, you decided maybe he needed a moment to compose himself. You turned around to give him a breather when you noticed something odd. Picking up the familiar stationery you were so used to seeing at least once a day, you looked back over at him to see him looking as pale as a ghost.

“Doppo, are you my secret admirer, the one that’s been sending me all those flowers and notes?” you asked quietly, unsure of how to react.

Unable to get the words out, he nodded vigorously, his eyes as wide as dinner plates. Eventually, he managed to say, “I, um, have been meaning to tell you for a long time now and when I passed by your office earlier and you were talking about how you were willing to give me a shot… I talked to Hifumi and he said I should just tell you. But I realize I am being too much. I shouldn’t have done it. I’m sorry. You’re probably so disappointed that it’s me who has feelings for you.”

“No!” You almost shouted to stop his rambling. You were practically bursting with excitement on the inside and it was making your mind fuzzy. You just couldn’t believe your crush likes you back! But this was so out of character for him! Doppo was never this upfront about his feelings. You assumed it was because Hifumi convinced him and you were glad he did or else you would have never known!

“N-no?”

“No.” You tell him more assuredly, finally taking one of his hands, making his cheeks go scarlet. “I’m not disappointed at all. In fact, I’m relieved. Doppo, I like you a lot. I was actually kind of hoping it was you sending the notes and flowers anyway.”

His eyes almost popped out of his head. “You did?!”

You nodded with a laugh. “I did.”

He gave you another bright smile before softly whispering, “If, um, if it’s not too far for me to ask, can I, can I kiss you?”

As you nodded again, he slowly closed the distance between the two of you and placed his lips softly on your own. You could feel fireworks as the world around you fell away. He held you like you were a fragile piece of glass and you slowly wrapped your arms around him. The kiss was perfect and just what you were hoping for when you imagined kissing him. Everything seemed just so perfect in this one moment. You didn’t want it to end for a million years.

But as he pulled away to breathe, you murmured, “So, are we still on for dinner?”

He gave a small laugh. “If, if you still want to.”

“I do.”

“Perfect.”

☇ Ichiro would love to take you out somewhere special for such a special occasion, somewhere with some privacy is what he told you, but them he simply took you to a calm and quiet café.

He never told you and just wanted to see the happy change in your face, shifted from confused to excitement as the first firework was lit, bright colors filling the skies in only a matter of seconds.

A/N: So sorry I haven’t posted in a while, I haven’t had wifi in days and the move has been a bit rough. But this one was so cute, I love the high school sweethearts trope it’s adorable really! I’ve done these before for Gentaro, Rosho, and Juto right here! Hope you enjoy~

Jakurai Jinguji

you met Jakurai in your first year of high school and immediately fell for him just like everyone else in your year

you admired him from afar, but you put more of a focus on your grades than you did with dating

because of this, you and Jakurai were almost always in the same, upper level classes which only gave you more time to swoon over him

when you end up working for a science project together, that’s when the two of you formally get introduced

to your surprise, Jakurai knows quite a bit about you and is intrigued by you (he says that you’re interesting to him)

you immediately take this as a compliment and are more than happy for any type of face-time you can get with him

even more surprising is that after the project, Jakurai continues to want to stay in touch with you

the two of you start to talk about schoolwork and spend time together studying for exams and homework

and eventually Jakurai admits to you that he has deeper feelings for you

it catches you off guard because you honestly didn’t think that someone as quiet and studious as Jakurai would ever want to be in a relationship

but after the two of you go on some dates, it’s clear that you’re perfect together and are meant to be

you pretty much become a ‘power couple’ in the school because of how good you both are in class and people are definitely jealous of you

it’s a quiet, romantic type of relationship where the two of you love and support each other almost seamlessly without being overly touchy or loving in terms of PDA

you always wait by Jakurai’s locker before lunch and he waits by yours after school when you walk home together

you’re always hanging out around each other and you constantly tease him about his inability to make other friends in his classes

when he says that he has Hitoya, you just look over at Hitoya (who’s always third wheeling on your dates) and laugh

you get nervous when college applications come around because you know that Jakurai wants to do pre-med and you’re not sure if that’s what you want too

but he reassures you that he wants to continue dating you in college no matter what happens

and you actually end up going to the same college regardless of whether you do pre-med or something else

Hifumi Izanami

you were childhood friends with Hifumi and you were actually dating even before entering high school

he was very flamboyant even back then and you always found him to be quite charming

everyone in the school is either jealous of Hifumi or jealous of you

you’re definitely the cutesy couple that takes iconic insta pics and leaves everyone wanting a relationship just like yours

Hifumi is extremely gentlemanly and will go out of his way to make sure that you’re comfortable and have everything you could ever need or want

he definitely fills up your locker with cards and hearts on valentines day

and he always has one arm draped around you so that everyone knows that you’re together

Hifumi has a million pet names for you but ‘kitten’ is definitely his favorite

and although he can be a bit of a flirt, he always reassures you that you’re the only one for him

after all of the events with Honobono take place and Hifumi is left with huge amounts of gynophobia, your relationship changes

if you’re a fem presenting person, Hifumi stays away from you at first which breaks your heart because of how close you were as his s/o

it’s painful but you make sure to stay close with Doppo and help Hifumi to get all of the help he needs

it’s a struggle to re-claim your relationship because it takes a lot of time and hard work to even get Hifumi to stand being in the same room as you alone

he’s not as bad with you as he is with some other feminine presenting people because he knows the relationship you have and he trusts you more than almost anyone else

but it’s still a rocky relationship which takes a lot of time and effort throughout your remaining high school years to heal

you want to stay by his side though and Hifumi is grateful for your presence every day

if you are a masculine presenting person, Hifumi is going to turn to you just like he turned to Doppo - for support

it’s going to be a massive amount of support that’s required though, because Hifumi will constantly need you around him

you don’t mind doing it because you want him to heal and you want him to get help and go to counseling and you’re more than happy to help him through all of that

it can be difficult, but Hifumi is just as loving to you as ever so it’s nice to see that aspect of him remains

Doppo Kannonzaka

you meet Doppo your first year of high school in math class when the two of you sit next to each other

it’s actually Hifumi who is the first to strike up conversation and you quickly get added into the group of friends made up of him and Doppo

Doppo immediately falls for you, thinking you’re the most attractive person in your grade and wanting to spend more time with you

you think Doppo is cute too but you refuse to tell him so it becomes a mutual pining situation

Hifumi knows Doppo likes you because he’s a great matchmakes so he encourages Doppo to ask you out and when the latter finally does, to nobody’s surprise but the two of you, you say yes

thus the two of you begin dating and do so throughout your high school years

it’s a little awkward at first because you’re so used to only being good friends, but you both quickly pick up speed after a few dates

your relationship is shy and tentative because it’s the first time either of you have done something like this

but Doppo likes you too much not to try to pull moves so he’s constantly asking Hifumi what he should do

and of course Hifumi gives him horrible advice that he got from a magazine and when Doppo tries out corny pick up lines or cheesy moves on you it only leaves you laughing and kissing his nose at how cute he’s trying to be

you don’t mind at all though because the relationship becomes quite comfortable quite quickly

you become each others’ support and are always there when the other one gets overwhelmed either from home life or school work or anything else in between

you’re able to sense Doppo’s emotions quite well and whenever you think there’s a panic attack coming on, you’re quick to jump in and help him calm down

likewise, Doppo is always thanking you and making sure that he helps you with anything he can

there’s not a ton of PDA at first, but Doppo doesn’t mind holding your hand by your third year

he loves to wait by your locker for you though and you think it’s the cutest thing ever when you round the corner and see him flitting and looking around for you

don’t be fooled though, he can get quite jealous if anyone else tries to flirt with you so you have to reassure him that he’s the only one for you

everyone at school thinks you make an adorable couple, if a little dorky, but they can all tell your feelings are genuine and they’re jealous that you got to date your best friend

you giggle, and doppo feels like he’s losing himself even more. gosh, this was so embarrassing, doppo thinks, but you found him totally adorable with the way he’s so nervous and shy. he’s tripping over himself and his butterflies, how doppo is merely a wreck at your words. his heart beats so quick, as if he has arrhythmias, and he’s fidgeting with himself and his words.

but, doppo likes it. he likes how he feels, and despite how he can’t even look you in the eye, doppo can’t help but smile.

getting sweet compliments from his lover — well, there’s nothing better. perhaps doppo should laugh more around you. god knows he needs it.
