“Poor Helaena…to lose a child like that”
“Poor Aegon…a father’s rage is justified”
Not hearing a whole lot of poor Rhaenyra who lost her father, her son, her throne and her unborn daughter in a short span of time.
According to TG stans, a child’s death is absolutely horrible (unless it’s Rhaenyra’s. If it’s Rhaenyra’s child, it’s fun, let’s celebrate).
I fail to see why Helaena’s grief is more important than Rhaenyra’s. She lost one son, said “bye bye world” and shut down (and I don’t see anyone pointing fingers at her and calling her useless in this war even though she was. She had a dragon she could use, but chose to remain locked up in her room and in depression).
Rhaenyra lost a whole lot more, and she had to stay on her feet and fight to take back what rightfully belongs to her.
Why is Jaehaerys’ death more tragic than Lucerys’?
Lucerys was murdered in cold blood, just like that boy of Helaena’s who’s barely relevant throughout the whole story.
Lucerys was a boy too.
Now there’s the question of who shed first blood.
The Greens did.
Actions call for reactions, and this is war.
Daemon wanted Aegon the Usurper to lose a son, just like the Greens forced Rhaenyra to suffer the loss of one of her own. He called for retribution. A life for a life. He could have arranged to have everyone in that tower killed that night. He could have demanded Aegon’s daughter, Jaehaera, be killed in exchange for the life of the daughter the Greens made him lose (Visenya). But he didn’t.
I’ve seen comments cheering on Aegon for wanting vengeance for his dead son, but apparently Rhaenyra is not allowed to demand retribution for the death of hers.
Misogyny runs high in the 21st century, doesn’t it? A woman who is not perfect is a monster, and a man with vices is just “misunderstood”.
And then you all have the nerve to point fingers at people who don’t care about the consequences of B&C. No, I don’t care that Aegon’s child is going to be murdered. Because I didn’t see that sympathy from stans when Lucerys was murdered. All I saw were jokes made at a child ripped apart by the biggest and most dangerous dragon alive because her rider is a twisted one-eyed psychopath.
The Blacks are entitled to vengeance.
Lucerys’ death is on Aemond’s head. And so is Jaehaerys’. He’s 100% responsible. If anyone is to blame for B&C, it’s Aemond the Kinslayer.

<< Part 5
“I think you should go back to your shitty life and Sam or Jake can drive me,” you already regret agreeing on driving to the hospital with Bucky. “You had a drink and daddy always says don’t drink and drive.”
“I had one drink,” Bucky snaps at you. “I canceled my plans for you. You’ll not back down now. We will drive to the hospital, and you’ll tell me everything you remember from the attack.”
“I knew there is a catch,” huffing you try to ignore that Bucky stands too close for comfort. He roughly grips your arm, making you wince in pain. “Stop touching me. I got shot.”
“Stop acting like you lost an arm,” you pout at his words. “The bullet barely touched your skin.”
“You’re such an asshole,” sizing Bucky up you try to find a way to not drive to the hospital with him. “Maybe you are used to getting shot, I’m not. It hurts and you can’t even act like a decent human for once.”
“Drama queen,” he rolls his eyes but drops his hand from your arm. “It’s a scratch. You’ll live.”
“Not thanks to you,” you scrunch up your nose. “Sam, Jake, and Clint saved my life. Steve came to our rescue but you—” you jab two fingers into his chest, “were nowhere to be found. You’re a fine ally.”
“I had shit to do,” he bites back. “I’m not waiting for you or your daddy to call me. I got a life on my own.”
“I don’t fucking care. If you belong to an empire, you drop everything and come to your ally’s aid,” you sneer as he doesn’t seem to care. “My father would’ve done the same for you. Only as you hate me, doesn’t mean you can let him die.”
You angrily wipe your eyes. “If you’ll excuse me now, I want to visit my dad and make sure no one tries to hurt him again. Of course, you don’t know what it means to be worried about someone you love.”
“—” he just stares at you.
“Oh, I forgot. You love yourself. Therefore, you must be worried all the time.”
He doesn’t have a witty comment this time.
You size him up, huff, and turn to leave.
“I will tell everyone that there will be no wedding due to what happened to my father. They will forget about the announcement eventually,” you quip before you storm out of the room and slam the door shut behind you.
“Your father is—” you lift your hand and stop the doctor before he can feed you more lies.
“I brought someone with me who will tell me if you are telling me the truth. So, don’t you dare to lie to me, doc.”
You jerk your head toward the door. “Doctor Cho, Doctor Banner, if you would do your job now.”
You’re standing tall. Your father didn’t raise a quitter.
If he wants you to take over his empire and lead his people, you must show everyone that you are not a spoiled and scared little girl.
You’re your mother’s daughter and your father’s legacy.
No one; not even James Buchanan Barnes will stop you from becoming the ruthless leader of your father’s empire.
“Doctor, a word,” you watch Bruce take the lead. He asks the question you wouldn’t have come up with. You’re not a doctor. Doctor Cho and Bruce are.
While Bruce talks to the Doctor, Helen walks inside the hospital room to check on your father. “Bruce, I’ll be right back. I need to make a few calls.”
The time has come. If you want to find out more about the attack on your and your father, you must take the lead.
You’re not ready to take your father’s place yet. But for the time being, you must be the leader your father sees in you.
“She wants all the information gathered,” Sam clears his throat. “Jensen, I need everything like yesterday.”
“Our little princess grew up fast, huh?” Rumlow coughs. He refused to stay at the hospital for much longer. “I’m game if it comes to bringing the assholes almost killing the boss and me down.”
“You better not call her princess when she’s around. Y/N hates it,” Jake grumbles while typing away on the keyboard. “I didn’t find the bastard ratting us out, but I got the footage from the cameras Y/F/N asked me to install some days ago.”
“He asked you to install new cameras?” Brock splutters. “Why? When?”
“I think the boss knew something is going to happen…or he was just worried because of what happened with Barnes.”
“How is he?” you watch Doctor Cho check on your father. “Doctor, can you already tell me something about his condition?”
“He’s stable but must remain in an artificial coma. The bullets did a lot of damage. Your father’s body will need time to heal,” Doctor Cho softly replies. “We think he will fully recover.”
“If he’s keeping up like this, we can bring him to the mansion,” Bruce points out. “It will be easier to keep him safe at home.”
“Like last time, Doctor Banner? He was at the mansion when those vultures dared to come to our home and attack us,” you disagree with Bruce. It won’t be safer for your father to come home yet. But he can’t stay here either.
“What else can we do to keep him safe? Do you want to ask Rogers to take him in until your father recovered?”
“No. They will expect me to ask Steve for help, I got a better idea,” you close your eyes and sigh deeply. “I will hate myself for it, but it’s the only place where no one will look for him.”
“What can I do for you?” Bucky muses as you step inside his office. He leans back in his chair, an amused smirk on his lips. “I thought you wanted to call things off and leave me alone.”
He takes a large sip of his drink.
“I need your help,” you get the device Jensen gifted to you out. “But first…” you push the button to make sure no one will spy on you.
“What’s this?” he furrows his brows. “Y/N, I’m not up to games tonight.”
“I need a place to hide my father,” Bucky laughs as you step toward his desk to take the glass and down his drink. You cough as the amber liquid burns in your throat. “I could ask Steve, but they would look at his place first. I can’t trust anyone right now.”
“In other words, you came here to ask me to risk my life and position to hide your daddy at my home?” he muses. “Aw, you’re cute when desperate.”
“You’re an ass all the time but,” you dip your head, “I didn’t come here to ask for help. I demand your cooperation, Mr. Barnes. If you want to keep breathing for another day you better stop with your attitude.”
“Ah, there she is,” he slowly gets up from his chair to tower over you. If not for his shitty character and unbearable attitude, you’d let your size kink get the best out of you. “Her father’s daughter.”
He bops your nose.
“If you refuse to help me, I’ll consider you an enemy from now on,” you put your hands on your hips and try to look taller than you are. “I’ll kill you if I must.”
Bucky steps toward you to whisper in your ear. “I’d like to see you try,” he cockily replies and grins. Well, he grins until you press your gun into his crotch. “Doll, please tell me this is a gun, not a boner.”
“Easy there, Barnes,” you purr. “If you want to keep the wiener to disappoint more women, you better not anger me even more. I’m just done with your stupid games. Get your shit together and think like a mafia boss, not a boy.”
He drops his eyes to the gun pressed into his crotch. “You’ll call the wedding off, and I’ll make sure you and your father are safe within my home. No one will dare to touch a hair on his head.”
“Deal,” you secure the gun. “We will bring him here tomorrow. No one can know, Barnes. I’ll tell Sam and the others that only Bruce and Doctor Cho are allowed to visit daddy.”
“Why do you trust me?”
“I don’t. But at least I know that I cannot trust you,” you shrug. “This makes things a lot easier for me. If you just breathe wrong, you will die.”
“You know, I won’t let you get away with threatening me,” Bucky warns. “For now, I’ll keep my promise. I owe your father. But when he’s better…well you will find out what happens then.”
“If you can’t take the heat,” you whisper lowly, “you shouldn’t play with fire, Barnes…”
