I forgot what my inspiration was but yeah. Ikesoren office romance!
I don’t mind taking some soft critiques! Mostly, if anyone has simple to understand pointers on perspective and/or coloring guides they enjoy using, I would appreciate it. (o^^o)

Soren is one of my favorite characters of all time (and tied w/ Dimi for my fav FE character) because he’s like. Really really funny if you think about it. This prince of two nations with draconic heritage and a tragic backstory isn’t only not the main character, but also you can go through the whole of Tellius learning very little about him if you so choose. HE doesn’t even really give a shit about where he came from he just wants to be w/ Ike. I feel like in any other FE game and most JRPGs in general his backstory would graduate him to significant plot point at least but Tellius is so based that it’s like nah. Like don’t get me wrong Soren is super important to understanding parts of the story (Why Rajaion ended up in Ashnard’s clutches, the whole branded debacle, Almedha’s *actual child*) but he’s never the focus. I just think that’s awesome. Of course it means like a bunch of people have some terrible takes but I guess that’s the price for having a rly cool character. I love Soren he’s so epic. He’s even gay

I love this take on his backstory because it's not just about Ike saving him. When they first met, Soren didn't immediately trust Ike and wouldn’t accept his invitation. But when Ike lost his memories and didn't return, Soren went looking for him even though he was scared of the other villagers. Upon finding their dead bodies, his first instinct was to see if Ike was still alive—and when he realized he was, he went all the way to Crimea to find him, getting support from a church along the way.
But Ike wasn’t there for most of that, nor does he learn about it until RD endgame. As Soren said, all he wanted was to see the boy who held out a warm hand to him. That one desire—“the strength of his convictions…and his feelings”—was what saved him. Ike helping him was the first time Soren experienced kindness, yes, but seeking out Ike despite the risks was the first time Soren made decisions based on another person.
In the Forging Bonds, Soren says he can't give his younger self what he needs—because what he needs is to start taking leaps of faith for the sake of being with someone else. He does this every time he supports Ike’s heroism despite arguing against doing the right thing. At the beginning of PoR, he doesn’t even fully trust that Ike won’t abandon him if he’s not useful enough or if his secrets get out, but due to Ike continuing to take care of and accept him, he stays and slowly opens up to him anyway. It’s only after finishing the game with their supports unlocked that he declares his place is at Ike’s side. The younger Soren could learn magic and tactics from his older self, but without relying on someone else, he wouldn’t have the trust and mutual support that ultimately drive him to help save the world and start healing.
It’s not just that Ike reached out his hand. It’s that every single time, Soren decides to take it.
