like I get that these things are subtle and that everyone makes mistakes, but when you go out of your way to avoid exclusionists it really sucks to see people unwittingly putting their rhetoric on your dash
#like I’m not innocent of unwittingly sharing stuff either I get it#I’m just venting not blaming anyone I follow#if someone is like. really bad at catching it I do unfollow but usually it’s more a cumalitive thing#if every person has a small chance of making a mistake and you follow a lot of people then you’ll prob see a couple posts each day#it’s just tiring#and that doesn’t count the posts shared from users I’ve filtered tbh those bother me less#I just filter them so I don’t accidentally share them#bc usually those posts are innocent themselves#I’m more talking about the actual rhetoric#and often it’s stuff that’s super contextual like#I see a post and I’m like this take is fine on it’s own but not if it’s made by an exclusionist#so then I check out op#and lo and behold!#anyway guess what just happened#it’s like. i don’t expect perfection and I don’t really blame people for missing a thing a small portion of the time#but it still sucks that it’s like this#456 words#vent#vent post

Critique is worthless if the person you’re critiquing doesn’t see it, though. Some of the people who’s posts you screenshot are autistic or are abuse victims, and I try to give everyone the benefit of the doubt because of that. Why do you not just engage with these people kindly? A lot of the “bad” takes just seem to 1.) be a projection of someone’s own trauma, or 2.) lack media literacy. I don’t think the first response should be to be hostile when I don’t believe the people you’re “calling out” are aware of why you’re targeting them.
We're not critiquing specific people, we're critiquing attitudes, and the screenshots we post here are just examples of a behaviour we're seeing everywhere (we're never calling out anyone specifically). That's why we hide the handle and that's why ultimately we don't mind if OP never even sees our critique. If one single person sees our post and feels welcome, accepted and not alone in their suffering, it's more than enough. If another one sees it and manages to rethink their language? Wow than we've achieved the main goal of this blog. Everyone can go home.
I'm sorry if you don't think our speech is kind, but we try our best to be that. But we have our limits and comedy and sarcasm are valid weapons to fight bigotry. We'll always try to be polite, but oppressed people shouldn't have to measure their every word not to hurt the feelings of the ones that oppress them. We were the ones hurt in the first place.
Again: "Do not confuse the response of the oppressed with the violence of the oppressor"
The Good Omens fandom has always been a great place for neurodivergent people, trauma victims, women and queers. No wonder, given its characters and themes. We were losing our safe space though, bc of all this hate targeting a large chunk if these people, and we're trying to win it back. Or at least build a new one.
And finally, regarding your two last points:
1) yeah, some people are trauma victims and project, and if you check our records we try our best not to call out projection as a bad thing per se, bc I think projection is valid and can help ppl deal with trauma and personal issues. We critique the ableist and victim blaming language used in the posts. (but again, remember we're human...)
2) regarding the lack of media literacy, I hope the blog helps them on that tbh. Although I must confess that if that's the only problem with a person's take, we won't feature it here (and we never have), as this is not our goal, and that usually comes with time. None of us is born with media literacy.
And finally, this blog is not our first response. We've been dealing with this for months. This was a last resort after things got way out of hand.

The day tumblr stans will stop being chronically online is the day I will finally like this fandom. Goofy aah people think their opinions matter?
Last year everyone adored Ayato on this platform but after a certain ahem cult ahem of people joined, I can sense they’re secretly having beef with Ayato and are sending mean anons to Ayato fans for some jealousy reason.
Granted he is not my personal best boy but he’s DiaLovers’ best boy for a fact and the hype he started getting is pretty much deserved. In a series of games that’s a bit dead, I’m glad he’s able to keep it relevant not only for the DiaLovers fans.
Don’t mind delulus saying bad things about him, those only exist on this platform anyway and are just seeking for attention and approval from random strangers.
// Tbh, I’m disappointed but not surprised. Unfair and two-faced people are everywhere and if they truly spend their time in that manner, you can already see how miserable their lives must be.
I believe that the Ayato hate train began with Youngblood and picked up steam this year after the release of the Meow Meow vampire art. Many people made fun of Ayato's appearance and blamed him for FaVoRiTiSm , despite the fact that everyone in Japan adored him there. I don't know why, but the DL Tumblr fandom is completely out of touch with everything DL-related. They have no idea that Rejet simply creates Ayato content as a marketing ploy; in fact, Japanese fans are literally the ones who request it. In 2020, Ayato was stated as fans’ top choice and got invited as a co-star with a national idol at Nino-san, which was broadcasted on the second largest television corporation in Japan. If people hadn’t recommended him so much, he wouldn’t have ended up there… it’s not that hard to understand.
This has the same vibe as those kpop fans who always complain about how their ult group is underrated but don’t even stream their songs, instead they spend their time criticizing bigger groups for what??
I’m not forcing anyone to love Ayato but at least give me good reasons to dislike him. I understand not liking ALL Diaboys but isn’t it hilarious how some people would give you a litany of reasons why they can't stand Ayato, but when you look at their bias, he did the same (or worse) things as (than) Ayato? If you truly dislike those actions, at least pick a side, lol. I honestly don’t hate any Diaboy (though I don’t agree with their behavior all the time) but even if I did, I wouldn’t throw shade at that one character out of the blue only to piss of his stans.
And I swear, it's incredibly annoying how some people would tear Ayato down when asked about their favorite character/ship/route, etc., even though he has absolutely NOTHING to do with the question or he isn’t even the main topic of the question. Saying things like, "Yeah, I like this character because, unlike Ayato (just an example hehe)—" or "No hate towards Ayato but — *proceeds to mischaracterize and hate on him*" are examples of uncalled hate speech. Literally why use HIM most of the time as an example when talking about negative things?? At this point that’s not even a coincidence anymore, but a pattern, which is truly giving fan behavior.
Such people are really the worst. Reminds me of how some fans still think it’s okay commenting stuff like “This is great but I don’t like *inserts thing the OP obviously likes*” or “Not trying to be mean but *starts being mean*”. Respectfully, who even asked for your opinion? Mind your own business and learn basic etiquette.

🦢 ───── *ೃ ୨ THE BIGGEST FACE OF THE COMPANY SPOTTED AT SOMEONE ELSES DORM, AGAIN.
As we all know, Melody Media announced Hashtag member Liling’s temporary hiatus not too long ago. Last week, Liling was sighted leaving a dorm that was clearly not her own, which deeply upset Codes as they felt that the Idol hadn’t stuck to the usual regulations of a hiatus. Whatever that meant. A few hours after the photo of Liling was posted, the OP also posted a lengthy paragraph explaining who the dorm belonged to and it was none other than Hashtag’s manager, Elias! What a surprise!
Liling being in a relationship with her manager already caused a lot of stir and theories about them were floating around the internet for the next two days with #KEEPELIAWAY trending on twitter. This was mainly because of the age gap between the two, which seemed pretty normal to me, with Liling being born in 2001 and Elias being a ‘96 liner. In response, both Melody Media and Liling confirmed the two were dating and apologized for any inconveniences they might have caused, as well as apologizing for the fact that Liling appeared to not be taking her hiatus as seriously as she should be. As of now, this is all Melody Media have said about the matter.
But the story doesn’t end there. Another anonymous account posted a thread claiming that Elias was actually engaging in sexual relations with one of Melody Media’s Creative Directors whilst Elias and Liling were exclusively dating. Now this, caused even more discourse online and sent Codes into an absolute frenzy. Once fans learned the creative director’s identity (Dawn Wolfe) it was over for everyone. Both Elias’ and Dawn’s social media accounts were leaked to the public within the span of 2 hours. Netizens were absolutely reckless when it came to insulting the pair to the point where Elias begged for forgiveness with a black screen and a few words on his Instagram story.

Some Netizens have chosen to take Liling’s side and defend her against others who claim her visiting her boyfriend under such circumstances was extremely unethical but some have chosen to take Elias’ and Dawn’s side, blaming everything on Liling and supporting them despite their wrongdoings.
No further information has been released about the situation and Melody Media have once again, not released a statement to address these allegations and have decided to stay silent on the matter. Unusually, Liling seems to have taken the same path, choosing to not immediately run to her public Instagram to express her feelings. Elias and Dawn have deactivated all their Social Media accounts.

I skimmed through it a bit but I think OP did somewhat decent research on the topic of fetishization regarding shipping/fandom. Such criticism is in many ways very valid. Very prevalent in the t/b-discourse as well. OP themselves say that it’s a new exploration on the topic so it’s of no surprise to me that it’s written as a broad generalization.
And very irrelevant to the actual story or the question that was asked.
So, no- it’s not good criticism because the irrelevant conclusion doesn’t say anything about SNS specifically. And how valid is it anyway if it stated that the bond between Naruto and Sasuke is no different from other characters? Lmao, that’s downright wrong in every way and disrespectful to the craft even if you don’t agree with them as a couple. Even Naruto/Sasuke haters are able to see otherwise and it’s often a source of hatred in the first place. Their ‘rivalry’ is explored in the story and in many ways actual ‘text’ is used to explain it further, how it came to be and what it eventually means. The person of the Ask, asked a very valid question, yet all of that is dismissed for the sake of a conversation regarding fetishization in fandom and using that to criticize and disprove SNS.
It’s the whole “Kishimoto didn’t know what he was doing”- argument all over again but coated with fancy words. That’s not to say that everything is wrong, I’m just saying fandom is irrelevant to the actual story. SNS-fans say unhinged things as well and there are many things I don’t agree with either. Assumptions about Kishimoto’s personal life and stating those ideas as being true or even remotely provable is definitely one of them. Chastising shippers from other fandoms for using filler-material and then flaunting a ‘SNS’-quote from a novel written by the same person that provided the filler-material for other ships is most definitely another. There is certainly fetishization happening in this fandom and that’s not something you can simply fight or disprove of in a way in order to remove it completely. It still got nothing to do with the story itself though or Kishimoto’s intentions regarding ‘Naruto’. OP lumps us all together and assumes a fan’s entire thought-pattern, thinks majority of us are Western (which blames any valid argument on culture which is bollocks) and don’t know anything about Japan if we think there is gay-subtext because surely Japan doesn’t unless it was meant to (which is rich tbh), our ideology that we all apparently share and decides to criticize all of us because of our toxicity and internalized misogyny. ‘Because an SNS-fan is all of that and therefore whatever we say is wrong.’ That isn’t okay for any of us to do regarding other sub-fandoms, nor is it in this case.
And yet OP continues to say that they don’t personally prefer SNS followed with more subjective thoughts which is fine, but doesn’t prove anything. Honestly, in what way did you think this was better criticism? At what point did it actually answer the question or did it link their newly acquired research to the story?

A person on Twitter implied that the girl who was in the theater (working I assume) and shared Lestat's pic is in trouble. I don't know if there is truth to it but in any case I don't think it's right to blame the fandom (I've seen people answering "I'm done with this fandom!") It's obvious that if you put something like this on ig for everybody to see, people will share and go wild about it and you can't blame them.
You know … they (AMC, cast, crew) have either talked to their people - or they haven’t. These people either can post or not. Know they will get into trouble - or not.
Obviously Levan, Luke, Kphagnasay etc etc can post. And meet people. And take photos with people. Talk to people. And sometimes a post is removed again, when people catch on. (Which is in and by itself interesting, isn’t it^^)
But everyone currently on the internet should know that it can get away from you if you put it out there… I mean the show even had Daniel tell us 😅
I don’t know if the OP will get in trouble. Will kphagnasay get in trouble? Or Levan? Maura (maybe)?
There are people in this fandom with the stance that nothing should be shared for fear of there being repercussions, and that is totally fine. And, for their pics, and if they were asked, that is up to them, I have said so before.
There is also the aspect of things being shared that were shared.
Like.. if that is what makes you want to quit the fandom… then please. I mean… 🤷🏽♀️
I know that there are more photos. People have been accused of gatekeeping for not posting them. (And I have been clear about my support for their decision not to share those as well!)
But. Not everyone adheres to the same rules, obviously. And if someone decides to share… then that is their decision.
Hating on people who reblog what is there is stupid though, and unfair imho.
AMC didn’t mind spoilers this much with TWD iirc, and I don’t know where this supposed spoiler law re IWTV comes from (these are no script or episode leaks after all, which is a whole different caliber), because if they didn’t want anything to leak they wouldn’t allow people on sets. At all. It’s that easy. And they would give long speeches to people. Make them sign long contracts. Hell, >I< have had to sign such contracts for my job.
So.
I don’t quite get the fuss tbh.
And… Taking a preemptive stance on someone else‘s behalf without actually knowing if they might get into trouble seems eerily holier than thou for me.
All this said, big props to the Prague guys for keeping this under wraps for so long btw, because something like THIS - had to leak through eventually.
There’s just no way this wouldn’t leak at some point 😅

Currently, Chapter 15 has writer’s block beating me over the head with a club, so I’ve not been able to write anything solid in about a week or so 🥲
So lemme tell you a bit about my main character! She’s a personal reflection of myself, despite the fact that she wholly identifies as a woman whereas I’m a lovely non-binary creature 🥰🥰🥰🥰💗
Akatani “Tani” Hikanari (MC)

I’m giving enough info out but not enough for spoilers; I’ve also included the pronunciation of her name because I wanna make sure that it’s read properly (I’m not trynna sound like a pain in the ass about it, I promise) 🤣
•Well for starters she’s a fucking spitfire and a half tbh (gee I wonder why?) 🤣🤣
•Tani is 20 years old at the beginning of the fic 😁
•She’s got long, silky, jet-black hair, jet-black eyes, and an athletic yet vaguely curvy physique (C-cupped chest, slightly wide hips, and a plump lil 🍑)
•She’s loud and willful and will throw herself in harm’s way to protect her students, her friends, and her Village 🥰
•She’s the jinchūriki of the Two-Tailed cat Matatabi, a being who’s the fucking complete opposite of my OC; where Tani is loud and uses vulgar language, Tabi is more formal/polite yet kind, like fr Tabi is so fucking nice and respectful and chill (until she’s not tho) 🤭🤣
•Tani’s favorite color is a darker shade of green, think like an evergreen
•Her favorite foods are miso soup, pork tonkōtsu ramen, and steamed gyoza
•As far as sweets go, she loves strawberries; like she could gorge herself on a bush of them and it still wouldn’t be enough 🤭🤣🍓
•She always smells of cigarettes, and the forest; she smokes to deal with the bullshit she’s had to endure (tbf I’ve done the same shit so I can’t say I entirely blame her 😅🤣🥲)
•She’s a fucking lightweight when it comes to alcohol, like she can get white-girl wasted in no time 🤭🤭🤭🤣🤣🤣
•She was a shinobi in the ANBU Black Ops from the time she was 11 years old until she was 18 🔪🏹
•Idk if weed🌿 is a thing in the canon-Naruto universe, but I def plan to introduce it in the next coming chapters and I feel like Tani would def end up being like me: a chronic pothead 🤣🤣🤣

yo i can't reply to your comment OP blocked me lol, but i just wanted to say sorry if my comment was too aggressive but i'm just really annoyed at anyone who acts like family Must Mean Everything - especially since i've gotten shit so many times for not loving my own. if someone wants to hc sirius as not caring for regulus it doesn't mean that they're an only child - or that it's a bad hc, cause OP made it sound like it was (maybe they didn't mean it like this though). and tbh i don't feel like anyone is trying to be the authority about them, people just read this characters differently, we don't even have a clear canon of them so ofc that happens

I’m not offended, everyone is entitled to their own opinions! I was speaking to my personal experience and am the first to admit I can’t fathom the idea of not caring about my siblings. I’m not saying people are wrong if they have a different experience, I absolutely recognize the importance of setting healthy boundaries with family. There isn’t one universal relationship that all siblings experience; lots of people go no contact with family members because it’s the best thing they can do to protect themselves! That being said, what concerns me about some of the headcanons about the Black brothers having a bad relationship is that it can start to get in to the realm of victim blaming.
When we’re writing from the character’s POV Sirius/Regulus resenting the other brother for staying/leaving is completely understandable. That being said, when readers start to say one of them is terrible for trying to survive what is often interpreted as an abusive household you get in to a more grey zone. No one should ever be encouraging children to do something that they personally don’t feel safe doing in an abusive situation. This isn’t directed at you, I’m not suggesting that’s what you were saying, but my day job is a social worker so I feel entitled to say this.
I can’t speak for OP, obviously, but I think they were just speaking to a particular headcanon they dislike. I definitely have seen people wielding the idea of “canon” to justify only one idea of a character which I think is silly because we know very little canonically about these characters. I don’t think it was an aggressive comment but it is typically considered rude in fandom to comment on someone’s post calling them out for a personal fandom rant. Tumblr is a space to cultivate your own experience; if you feel like people are making you feel shitty for your personal family experience you should absolutely block away. This particular fandom is exhausting at the best of times given how much conflict there is; don’t feel like you have to consume content that makes you feel bad. Sibling relationships are not a one size fit all kind of thing and don’t let fandom make you think otherwise!

I’m not really one to pay much attention to commercials because they’re honestly so annoying, but while I was cooking tonight I saw this Tonymoly CF with Yura and Ichika! I love Crystallis with my whole heart, but tbh yuchika are my biases!! Separately they’re so gorgeous but together, I don’t think I was mentally prepared! I almost burned my food while looking up the cf again, and (unsuccessfully) talking myself out of buying the collection they were promoting. I really have too much makeup, but I can’t stop myself!! The colors they showed off just looked so pretty on them and perfect for summer!! I’m willing to take on a few extra shifts if it means my girls stay employed.

Hey it’s been a really long time that I read Wicked. It’s one of my top Jk fic. I am so in love with it. I loved the way the characters developed. Every word u write is excellent. But sorry I feel scared to read it I don’t want to blame u for not updating it. I know life can get really hectic. And u write these fic for free and not at all obliged to deliver. But it pains when u have to read a story half way. Like I remember coming back to check your account for updates. Pls this is no hate I am just trying to tell u a readers mind. I am reading all your ask about the new 2 chapters update and dying to read it. But I am in a split mind I am not sure how often u will update. But pls pls don’t pressure your self and write according to your own time. I will wait for some more chapters to be uploaded before reading them. Wish me luck to be patient
I mean, I can’t really convince you to read something if you don’t want too? 😅 I’ve had plenty of readers in the past start the beginning of a fic before putting it down and waiting for it to be finished whilst still engaging with me as an author (looking at you tease readers 😌💅)
I get where you’re coming from, but I can’t personally relate, and it probably has to do with the fact that I am a writer, if I read a WIP and find out OP hasn’t updated in seven months? It’s kind of like ‘Awh man!!’ moment, but then a ‘big mood tbh’, because I’ve been there, stuff happens! and then I’ll save it and forget about it and then suddenly remember a year later, maybe they’ve updated once!!! hell yeah! maybe they finished the whole thing !?!?
What it sounds like though is if you’re asking me how often I’ll update as a way to convince you to read it? The answer is a solid I have no idea lol, I’d like to start updating once a month but given I’m also working full time and considering getting another part time job on top of it so I can move out? like I said shit happens.
Personally it sounds like you’d benefit from just waiting until wicked is finished, and hey! Once again no shame in that! I had a lot of readers do that for tease! I have no preference on what readers do.

okay i finally finished the star wars sequel trilogy and here’s my opinion and thoughts on each of the movies that no one asked for but i want to share anyway 🤓🤓 spoilers below!
The Force Awakens:
Don’t have a strong opinion on this movie TBH, I think it’s the weakest of the three but it’s a good introduction movie.
Wasn’t expecting Han’s death…RIP TO A REAL ONE😭
Still don’t understand how Rey was able to beat a trained Kylo Ren in battle…she was too OP for the first movie.
Kylo’s back story isn’t convincing enough and I think he’s kind of lame, I don’t think they did him justice.
Transitioning between scenes is so reminiscent of the OG triology and I love it.
The Last Jedi:
THE BEST OUT OF THE THREE!! I really enjoyed this movie; especially all the different sub plots. I loved that we got to see more characters.

I liked Rose’s character and her dynamic with Finn!! Kelly Marie Tran did not deserve all the hate she got ): Rose was awesome ):
The scene in Snoke’s throne, Kylo reminded me so much of Anakin in ROTS, from the hair to the expression on his face, I literally think he channeled Anakin’s energy into his performance (think of Anakin when he first pledged loyalty to Palpatine)
Kinda confused on the direction they went in with Luke. You mean to tell me Luke refused to kill Darth Vader because he believed there was light still in him, but couldn’t extend the same hope to Kylo? Idk, Luke’s main characteristic is that he’s the hopeful, optimistic hero and I feel like they completely scrapped that. ESPECIALLY BECAUSE THEY DONT EVEN DIRECTLY TELL YOU WHY KYLO HAD SO MUCH DARKNESS IN HIM, i blame the story tellers
Luke saying no one’s ever really gone…yeah I cried 😭
I knew Luke died from like years ago, but watching his force spirit in front of the two suns just reminded me of that iconic scene in ANH where he’s standing in front of the two Tatooine suns. Literally one of my favorite Star Wars scenes EVER 🥹
The Rise of Skywalker
I think my biggest gripe with this trilogy is that it completely ruins Anakin/Vader being the Chosen One. Like….George Lucas confirms he’s the Chose One and then we see in ROTJ that he helps brings balance to the force, thus completing the prophecy. BUT THEN PALPATINE DIDNT DIE AND HES BACK AND THAT MAKES THE PROPHECY COMPLETELY MOOT AND THATS AN INSULT TO MY POOKIE.
Didn’t expect Leia to die…I know Carrie died (RIP TO A REAL ONE) but I honestly didn’t know she was going to die in the movie and I kept on wondering how they were going to pull it off. And I’m just realizing they killed each of the OG trio 😭
We needed more Rose.
They built up Finn to be a love interest for Rey in the first movie then completely scrapped that idea for Reylo 😭
Not sure how I feel about Reylo. I was really hoping they wouldn’t kiss then BOOM they kissed. Idk I just don’t think the chemistry was there.
I still think they did Kylo’s character building dirty, but I did enjoy his redemption arc. RIP
The voices of all the Jedi guiding Rey, I CRIED OKAYYYYYY
FINNPOE SUPREMACY
I love FinnPoe, but also Finn and Poe separately. Oscar and John were amazing
Seeing all the Death Stars crash, the Ewoks looking up and cheering, the celebration scene 😭😭😭😭 I cried so much IDK it just reminded me so much of the the end of ROTJ and honestly I’m a huge sucker for a good winning final scene.
Overall, I enjoyed the trilogy more than I thought I would and while I do think it’s not PERFECT and I do think there’s a lot to fix, I do think a lot of SW fans are just salty and hated the idea of a more diverse, female led franchise. I would definitely watch again (:

No prob it’s something I’m trying to get better at tbh. My sense of humor surrounding real people as kinda always been “I’m gonna say something so insane and based on info I obviously would not ever know for real but there’s seemingly a small kernel of truth in it” where the comedy (at least for me) comes from me kinda pretending like I’m good friends with the guys. Then I realized recently they are sometimes confusing and people think I’m being serious about claiming to know this information for real? I don’t blame people because sometimes I struggle to understand if op is being for real especially with posts that make assumptions about events? I hope that makes sense?

Season rating: 4/10
I kind of didn’t like this season. I did not like Regina blaming Zelena for Robin’s death, Rumbelle being broken up, or the whole Gideon plot. There were some good moments but mostly me being frustrated. I did kind of like the land of untold stories plot line though.
