I saw a post to the effect that "The Aziraphale defense crowd should write their own content instead of criticizing other people's".

But the thing is, I feel that calling out real-life bigotry that has the very real effect of making real people feel unsafe and uncomfortable - and in the case of some Aziraphale takes I've seen, has spread some truly dangerous ideas about how ab*se and mental illness work - is a valid use of my time.

And while I don't think it has to be an either/or situation, if I had to choose, I would find doing that a vastly more worthwhile endeavor than simply generating fan theories.

Can we please stop demanding that Aziraphale denounce his ab*sers, as though if he doesn't that means he agrees with them? Can we please stop acting like he needs to make some kind of formal renunciation of the people who terrorized him? (We know he doesn't agree with their policies and finds ways not to go along with their evil deeds when they try to force him to. And we certainly know he doesn't like the way we treat him.)

And still more, can we please stop acting like he needs to have some kind of excruciating mental or emotional crisis? Lord knows he's suffered enough. (Or possibly She doesn't know that, if She's off in some distant galaxy or having a really long nap or something. Lol.)

If someone makes you say something with a gun to your head, people should give you the benefit of the doubt of assuming you didn't actually mean it. You shouldn't be obligated to denounce it afterward.

And you certainly shouldn't have to suffer for it.

I just....something that bothers me from time to time...Crowley knows that Heaven doesn't do choices, right? And that no matter what they agreed to after the botched execution, they still think of Aziraphale as Their Property, right? I just...he knows, doesn't he? Heaven. Doesn't. Do. Choices.

Not for angels anyway.

I know we all think Aziraphale is gonna come back from heaven dearly missing wine and food and good music but I think he's gonna come back and immediately crawl under a blanket because he is severely overstimulated by the fucking Big Light energy in heaven.

Those fluorescent overhead lights and the sheer brightness of this place absolutely do not mesh with the autisms, I mean look at his bookshop!! Dim and muted. Poor thing

It's much easier not to end up in a pile of burning goo than to end up in a pile of burning goo.

Those were his options.

I've got very few blogs I receive notifications from and for two of these quite often ( but not always) I receive notifications only moments apart. So, really just curiosity, is one of you mods also a mod in another aziraphalian blog?

Recently, at great expense, I enlisted the help of a shadowy network of operatives who I was assured were competent, discreet, and reliable. I was informed they were primarily overseen by bloggers Major Saucepan, Tin, Milk, and Cupboard, and Captain Smith, Smith, Smith, Smythe, and Ditto. But these are, as I recently discovered to my dismay, all aliases for one person, who has been grotesquely overcharging me for his help and is not familiar with even the basics of online identity protection. Possibly this all somehow traces back to the army of rats that occasionally does odd jobs for me. At this point I’m not entirely sure myself. I started taking on more help for this blog and after that everything just spiraled out of control.

I don’t know what’s real anymore.

Even Neil Gaiman isn’t real now, they tell me.

Maybe nothing is real.

Thinking about the time when I said “I worked in ab*se and trauma research for over seven years and I’m really disturbed by the way people are talking about Aziraphale, an ab*se victim/survivor” and someone told me “It’s a mistake to compare him to an ab*se survivor” like excuse me what do I have to do to convince you I know what I’m talking about?!! Like how many years of experience do you need???
