I keep hearing this theory that bluey/bingo is/are neurodivergent.

And I just want to say that if it ends up being canonically true then I head cannon that Bandit is neurodivergent too. Not because there are traits he displays (although he does display some) but mainly because bandit reminds me so much of my dad and he has adhd and he passed it down to me and my siblings and it would be awesome to have that represented.

Cause they are in my head, here are some dumb headcanons for Shirou raising little kid Michiru and Nazuna

Nazuna was the type of kid who always has to be around her parent so she would just follow Shirou around and sometimes hold onto his tail

Michiru on the other hand would always run off and keep nearly killing herself but had little kid durability

Michiru was straight-up indestructible

Shirou is just talking to Rose or some other serious company while Naz is just sitting in his lap weaving together flowers Shirou helped her pick. Nazuna just turns around in Shirou's lap and puts a newly made flower crown on his head before going back to fiddling with flowers. Shirou gives a little "thank you" and a nod without blinking and instantly goes back to his conversation

Marie made a little thing of finding every way to scare little Michi and Naz but to Shirou's bewilderment kept them liking her

The girls would call Rose "Granny"

Shirou would watch Bluey with the girls and quietly take mental notes from Bandit and Chili

Shirou regularly asked himself "What would Bandit and Chili do in this situation?" when raising the girls

Michiru would sometimes hide stuff from guests if she liked them since it meant they got to stay for longer

When they first met Alan Michiru brought him his bag and shoes as soon as he even hinted at leaving

Michiru was incredibly bitey as a pup and would chew on anything so Shirou had to find a million lifehacks to keep her from chewing on important things

Shiro would give Michiru frozen bagels to chew on

Shirou was so worried about Michiru's teeth cause she kept biting things

It was incredibly hard to teach the girls to properly shapeshift since Michi hated being in her human form and Naz would feed off her stubbornness

There is an ongoing debate on which of the girls is older

No one besides Shirou knows where either of the girls came from, Shirou just was suddenly buying supplies for two six-year-olds and posting photos of them on his unused social media accounts

It took like a solid three years before Shirou started calling them his daughters and would instead find every other term possible

Shirou does not have a response for where the mother is

Shirou took single-dad classes to learn how to take care of the girls' hair

When the girls' powers came in Shirou was so lost

Michiru kept throwing herself off stuff to try and fly with her new wings

One time Nazuna stretched out her arms and couldn't turn them back so she cried till she threw up

If left unattended Nazuna would get into the pantry and eat the weirdest things like whole jars of peanut butter, flour, or vinegar

Nazuna's tail would always be dirty cause she had a habit of dragging it behind her and Shirou could never get her to walk with her tail up

Michiru would eat and chew on weird plants in the garden

Shirou's closet is just filled with photos of Michiru's little league basketball games and Nazuna's children's theater performances

Nazuna and Michiru would play the most disturbed games with their toys

One time in elementary school a kid tried to bully Nazuna and Michiru bit them till she tasted blood. Shirou's only response was "Good."

Nazuna would try to crack open rocks to try and find gems

Michiru would bring Nazuna as many rocks as she could carry while they looked for gemstones

Shirou has a box where he keeps all the cool rocks his kids bring him

No one knows the girls' birthdays so they just have one "Super Birthday" once a year for both of them

Multiple times there were issues where people thought the girls weren't Shirou's since he's a big scary man with kids that look nothing like him

All of Michi and Naz's friends' parents trusted their kids with Shirou since they both knew he wouldn't hurt them but also that he wouldn't let a single bad thing happen to them

The girls became incredibly good at stealing shit out of Marie's bag partially just to mess with her

People keep saying Michiru needs to be tested for ADHD or Autism. Shirou has yet to do this. People also think he should be tested

Michiru was the type of kid to come inside after playing outside with her pockets either full of cool rocks and dirt or small animals

Trigger warnings: Death, s**cide

I feel like garbage. Today my BEST FRIEND was watching a video talking about Bluey (the Australian kids show on disney plus) and how it covers heavy topics like death, ADHD, and being infertile just to name a few. But then she made a comment on how “ADHD doesn’t belong up on that scale, like it’s not that severe.”

So I freaking FLIPPED. I told her that ADHD does belong up there, and that adults with ADHD are 5 times more likely to have attempted s**cide. That ADHD leads to other mental illnesses (for lack of a better term) like Imposter Syndrome, Depression, and Anxiety, just to name a few off the top of my head.

As someone who struggles with anxiety, ADHD, and possibly Imposter Syndrome (working on getting a diagnosis), I felt really uncomfortable with her saying that and just brushing off all the things I said above. I felt like she was making it seem like the things i went through were not valid, just because “it’s not that serious”. I don’t know if I’m overreacting or not. My gut and my head say no, and that my reaction is perfectly called for, but everyone is saying that i shouldn’t have snapped at her.

by the way, my friend is one of hose people who say “everyone has a little ADHD.” and claims to have undiagnosed ADHD as well. Her parents are very understanding and are amazing people. One of them is a retired psychiatrist (she switched her job), so I would think that her parents would have seen something, if she really did have ADHD. I feel like she’s undermining what I went through just because I don’t have Depression or haven’t attempted.

There's an episode of bluey about ADHD and there's a scene toward the beginning where his dad is driving him and his sister to daycare, and his dad asks him to stop fidgeting and he keeps saying okay and then almost immediately doing it again and it's annoying his sister, and he asks him some questions and he gets distracted and forgets to answer and he mentions forgetting things at home and again, the fidgeting, stop kicking your legs. And finally his sister is so annoyed with him she snaps "why can't you do as you're told?" And he stops and looks sad and confused and looks down and says in a small voice "I don't know." And it fucking destroyed me. It put a spear through my heart. I felt so seen. I was always that kid in school who couldn't do as they were told, couldn't pay attention, always pissed off my teachers. Why do we keep having to punish you nate? How many times do we have to do this before it sinks in? And it never does. "I don't know." That horrible bone deep feeling of not knowing what's wrong with you, why CANT I just be good? I want to. Why am I so bad? Ugh. Uggggh

Onto the way I look/am I guess!

I have short brown hair and brown eyes. I wear glasses. I'm plus sized and I tend to wear clothes that are more comfy/practical then trendy but I do still like to wear cute stuff, I have two tattoos at the moment and plan on getting more.

My personality is just a clusterfuck of my mental illnesses and whatever I'm hyperfixated on at that point. It's hard to pin point really.. but I think I'm empathetic, I do tend to get angry very easily, I get anxious pretty often to. I have a phobia of bugs to the point of tactile hallucinations (feeling things that aren't there, like bugs crawling on me). I get discouraged easily, and don't have much confidence in myself and I'm afraid of messing things up alot.

I love dancing and drawing but have been in a mental/creative block for both for quite awhile and it sucks

I love food (especially strawberries!), music, plushies and my comfort shows (bluey (shut up), Steven universe and the owl house)

I hate loud, especially sudden, noises, being hot (I overheat very easy), and people telling me what to do (not in a "I'm better then you" way in a "well I WAS gonna do that thing but now I don't want to and physically can't" way)

I also have ADHD inattentive type, depression, and anxiety (and quite possibly some other undiagnosed things too) if that helps!

Don't be afraid to tell him what you want, this man's life purpose is to attend to you knees he wants to be told what to do by you and do those things. He adores you and will bend over backwards just to see you happy.

Suddenly craving food? He'll buy you a whole restaurant, you've been eyeing a new plushy? He'll get you it + a bunch of different styled once with the same design concept.

He doesn't understand human entertainment so he doesn't seem to understand what's enjoyable about the human shows he likes but, he knows you like them so automatically he likes them and they're his favourite too, cause you're his favourite and he wants to be your favourite so, everything that's your favourite is now his favourite.

You mentioned the shows you liked once, just saying it to say it and didn't think much of it but he took a mental note and binged watched it behind your back and FINISHED IT just so you guys can have something to talk about and relate too and, so you could be shocked and impressed he knew about it.

He pretends to be some huge fan and everything.

When you realise he's watched it, you get him to watch it with you again when you're in need of some comfort or just to watch it, you both come together entangled with each other in each others bodies under some blankets and plushies.

He can't help but think him deciding to watch the shows was his best idea ever.

100% worth it.

It's no doubt that no matter what, he'll always be there for you to support, cherish and love you. Until the end of times.

i go by tooth or mabel, and i suffer from depression, anxiety, spd, adhd, and did.

i am gender-fluid non-binary and go by they/he/she (fem presenting) and am biromantic and asexual.

i also have autism, fibromyalgia, and hypermobility.

thanks to those last two up there, i constantly feel like crap (ex., legs always hurting, entire body always hurting, getting pounding headaches at the most inconvenient times, etc.).

my clothing style is a mix of cozy/grunge/goth, and i’m constantly wearing rings and chipped black nail polish. chances are there’s some paint or doodles/ink on my hands/arms too, lol.

i have short dirty-blonde hair with the underside dyed a bright orange (looks like natural red hair), but if i had a choice my hair would probably be blue or green (lmao). i have pale skin and a slim figure, but i’d be lying if i said i didn’t have some pudge.

i am a very artistic person, i can often be seen drawing or painting, and if i’m not i’m most likely playing a game or watching something.

Wait, that was a stupid question. We already are. Then, my actual ask is, what's your favorite pass time? Like what do you do when ur not on Tumblr??

Let me think. Mostly play video games honestly. DS, 2DS XL, Switch and after I move I'll have my Wii U and GameCube to play games on.

I will sometimes draw and paint, most general art. I do write fanfiction and write stories I hope to be published one day. These are all pretty rare since ADHD and fatigue kick my butt most days.

I watch mostly YouTube as of right now. Typically the gaming side of things with like Markiplier, Call Me Kevin, RTGame, Alpharad, stuff like that, but I watch a variety of content.

I'm on my phone a lot. I mostly just check fandoms for my special interests like the Splatoon subreddit or scrolling on here. Or just checking news.

I'm in the process of moving rn so I've been busy organizing some stuff and putting stuff away.

The only show I really watch right now is Bluey just cause I'm a traumatized individual lol, but I'll get with my friend MA on call and we'll watch videos or shows together. Like, we're trying to watch the rest of The Owl House, but with her busy schedule and not getting home till like 9 pm my time, yeah, we don't really got time to do that.

It really does just boil down to mostly video games and watching something and focusing on taking care of my body since disabilities and unable to get help for em thanks to financial stuff and relying on my parents. So I pretty much just spend time in my room, chatting with my friend MA and my girlfriend, watching stuff which is whatever I feel like, playing video games, and working on the boxing stuff up part of moving when I can. I also love reading, but I have a lot of books I bought for my trauma so they can emotionally exhaust me 😅

My favorite past time is def video games and watching stuff that seems so cool to me. For instance, watching speed runs or Mario Kaizo stuff. Since my hands don't respond well, I could not do a lot of it though I do want to get into speed running one day, so I love watching these people do things I cannot do. I love commentary side of YouTube. I love video essays on stuff I would normally not care about or stuff I haven't thought about in a long time, especially when it comes to lore of pieces of media that I will never care about. I have a wide variety of games and game systems to play, I'll also often play with my friend MA when we get the chance. So those are definitely my favorites. Just doing stuff that lets me relax, turn off my brain, or watch something that will make me almost die of laughter. I've played video games since as long as I can remember, starting with like educational kids games on the computer before I could even read. So they've always been a big comfort for me and a big part of my life and I love to challenge myself now with them and explore a variety of different games.

One thing I wanna get back into is Legos at some point. I miss building with Legos and so probably for a holiday or something or if I can save up for it, I'll just buy myself a nice Lego set to build.

I rambled a lot cause my thoughts are very disjointed, but I hope that gave ya an idea of what I do. I mostly play on my switch these days since it's the easiest for my to access. With my set up in my room, it's difficult to play the Wii and GameCube without back problems or the Wii remote struggling with the sensor bar + I'm moving so I'm getting them packed away. And then for my DS's, it's just I don't keep em charged honestly 😅 though I am actually playing Leaf Green on my DS right now so yay, I finally charged one lol. But yeah, that's pretty much all I do :p with video games and YouTube being the most prominent. I also mostly talk to MA and my gf a lot of the time. They're both long distance so texting is our main way to communicate since we can't just like hang out. But yeah, that's pretty much it. I'm gonna stop now lol. It's basically just whatever I hyperfixate on most of the time.

Edit: Pffft, just remembered. I roleplay with MA a lot. Mostly just comfort roleplays for both of us. I used to roleplay a lot and even had an Envy (fullmetal alchemist brotherhood) roleplay account, but gave it up cause of how fandoms can be and just some personal reasons and anxiety around interacting with people. I do that about just as much, when MA is free of course.

so, i had been wanting to watch this cartoon called Bluey for a while, because i kept seeing edits of the two protagonists, the little doggies, Bluey and his sister Bingo. i already have hcs for them, which would be, Bluey is a demiboy in the works (they're both really young still, so i suppose he hasn't understood that just yet) and Bingo has adhd and autism :) i relate to Bingo a lot, but calling her kin feels weird for a number of reasons (im a fictionhearted kin btw, ^^)

i watched it yesterday for the first time, because my little cousins had come over and they LOVE Bluey

SO ANYWAYS their dad is Bandit. and Bandit is a good dad. i love Bandit. Bandit does not work, his wife does, but Bandit is a really, really good dad. he's caring, plays a lot with his children and is careful to always use their language to communicate with them, even when he's nervous. i love him a lot

3/5/23 CW: Abuse/Trauma mention kinda? ADHD stuff, anxiety stuff, "The Bluey Post."

Last couple days have been okay. I've been learning to manage the panic attacks better. I didn't actually have one today- I kinda had a smaller episode yesterday, but I put on some Bluey and it turns out to be like, magic anti-panic attack medicine. Who knew.

Some people have heard me say (seen me type?) before that after watching Zootopia, I didn't want to FUCK Clawhauser; I just wanted to be his friend. My first real furry crush was Alex the Lion from Madagascar- just a bright, bouncy, funny, silly, charming character that loved to perform and loved people- bonus points for having huge bappy manimal paws and big chompy teeth. This is going somewhere, I promise.

I feel like there's this positivity vacuum in my life that makes me a sucker for hyper-pure characters and content, like it artificially fills some kind of void that makes me wish I were a part of it in an earnest and genuine way.

Bluey has been like... The greatest expression of that feeling. I love watching Bluey never stop being bossy because she gets away with it nine times out of ten due to her shear charisma. I love watching Bingo constantly challenged to fight for attention and respect, and ultimately succeeding. I love watching the chaos that unfolds literally any time that Muffin is on-screen. I love the way Bandit genuinely loves his daughters and does everything in his power to spend time with them and indulge them, even if it's not always on his preferred terms. I love the storyboarding, the subtle hints at deeper trauma across the cast, the relatability of the characters.

I remember before ever seeing the show, I saw a clip of Jack on Twitter. Why can't you sit still? Why can't you remember anything? Why can't you just do what you're told? He stops fidgeting for a moment and really thinks about it and says, sadly:

"... I don't know."

I cried to that clip- hard- because that moment with Jack was my entire childhood and was the most I ever related to a character. It was the most I had ever seen of myself on a TV show packed into three words uttered by a cartoon jack russell terrier that couldn't remember his god damn hat.

Every day of my life, my dad yelled and screamed at me asking why I couldn't do these simple things he asked me to do and all I could say was "I don't know." Sometimes he'd scream it back at me at the top of his lungs in that condescending slurred "pretending to be special needs" tone, mocking me.

My third grade teacher tried to tell my parents "Chris is very smart but has a difficult time staying on task and participating in class- I think that Chris may be struggling with ADHD" and my mom jumped down her throat for suggesting her son could have been anything less than perfect. She didn't attend parent teacher conferences anymore after that. Where dad was hard on me, mom coddled me and kept me "under [her] wing" as dad would say.

I grew up "smart" and "gifted" but "lazy" and "unmotivated," bullshitting and last-minute-ing my way through school, flopping upwards and somehow convincing everyone I was everything they thought I was.

I'm not medicated or diagnosed and I can't afford to be, but I KNOW I'm ADHD. Seeing the way other people struggle and relating to it all- the time blindness, the hyper-focus, the terrible working memory, the difficulty managing emotions, the executive dysfunction, the rambling- yes I know I'm doing it right now, sorry- all of it and more.

At THAT moment, seeing Jack internally question why he can't do all these simple things really endeared me to the character, and I knew I wanted to watch Bluey for more than just lusting after Bandit (god help me he's still so fucking ideal). When I actually watched the show and reached that episode, I was floored by just how beautifully and subtly the show straight up teaches kids about ADHD without ever mentioning it.

Rusty involves Jack in a game that challenges every debilitating aspect of his neurodivergency, and Jack succeeds in every event based on the three motivational pillars of ADHD: Urgency, Novelty, and Personal Interest. If you think of motivation as a bridge, those three things make up the planks you step across, and if any or all of them are missing, it's MUCH harder for someone with ADHD to stay invested in the task at hand and follow through from start to finish without struggling along the way. It's a game, so there's novelty. Jack wants to make a good impression on Rusty, so there's personal interest. In the last part of the game, they need that dust off NOW, so there's your urgency. All three allow Jack to overcome his poor working memory (difficulty remembering multiple pieces of information across short periods of time), his inability to sit still, and his executive dysfunction (inability to actively prioritize what your brain decides to focus its attention on). The episode is just extremely well researched. Fun fact, did you know there's a prominent, internationally recognized authority in the field of ADHD research named Russell Barkley? Coincidence? I think not!

Obviously I got off-track and rambled a bit and now I'm mentally spent, but all I mean to say is that Bluey is a really, overwhelmingly beautiful and cozy show and I'm extremely thankful to have it in my life. It is genuinely beautiful artistically and the animators are given a lot of opportunity to flex their creativity. There's a lot to love but that first episode with Jack was the one that really sold me on it.

It's about 1:30 AM now, I've got a pot roast I've gotta get in the slow cooker in the morning, and I think I'm more prone to panic attacks when I'm sleep-deprived, so I'm gonna try to maneuver around this cat that's leaned up against my thigh and go to sleep.

I don't know if anyone is actually reading these, but I kinda like typing them either way.

Well, as a matter a fact...

Yes. Jack actually has adhd in the actual show according to the Bluey Wiki Fandom, but no he doesn't have any autism. And, I can confirm that he has adhd as an autistic person. And, if you're really wondering about the episode "Army" he was playing army with Rusty and he became his best friend.

So with that said, Jack does have adhd in the series and and what is valid of this it's because he was the first Bluey character that is disabled!
