I feel like garbage. Today my BEST FRIEND was watching a video talking about Bluey (the Australian kids show on disney plus) and how it covers heavy topics like death, ADHD, and being infertile just to name a few. But then she made a comment on how “ADHD doesn’t belong up on that scale, like it’s not that severe.”

So I freaking FLIPPED. I told her that ADHD does belong up there, and that adults with ADHD are 5 times more likely to have attempted s**cide. That ADHD leads to other mental illnesses (for lack of a better term) like Imposter Syndrome, Depression, and Anxiety, just to name a few off the top of my head.

As someone who struggles with anxiety, ADHD, and possibly Imposter Syndrome (working on getting a diagnosis), I felt really uncomfortable with her saying that and just brushing off all the things I said above. I felt like she was making it seem like the things i went through were not valid, just because “it’s not that serious”. I don’t know if I’m overreacting or not. My gut and my head say no, and that my reaction is perfectly called for, but everyone is saying that i shouldn’t have snapped at her.

by the way, my friend is one of hose people who say “everyone has a little ADHD.” and claims to have undiagnosed ADHD as well. Her parents are very understanding and are amazing people. One of them is a retired psychiatrist (she switched her job), so I would think that her parents would have seen something, if she really did have ADHD. I feel like she’s undermining what I went through just because I don’t have Depression or haven’t attempted.

ai writing is not okay.

it’s literally theft. just like how ai art steals, ai writing steals. it’s using authors’ very real work to generate whatever you type in. and this also needs to be said as well.

writing is a form of art. fanfiction is a form of literature.

seeing this all over my fyp is REALLY discouraging. fanfic itself is already a labor of love and we love it when you interact. but please do not use ai writing for your fanfic needs when this writing literally steals from fanfic authors.

Even as an avid scarian shipper, OP is correct. the scarian community wiped out grumbo. i still do love grumbo! but because of lack of content and overflow of content for scarian, i started to enjoy it more.

hello now that you're free i NEED to know why you hate scarian (hate is a strong word but i can't think of anything else)

this isn't a "grrr why do u hate da BEST ship" because i don't necessarily like it either (i think its overrated) but i have to hear other people's thoughts

I hate scarian because it ruined Grumbo. You see, when scarian first became a thing, it was in the right place at the right time. The dsmp had just ended and people needed to replace it with something and BAM! There was third life. By the end of the dsmp, almost everyone had become great writers, and artists, with a decent following, and they all flooded to third life where the birth of scarian was. With this MASSIVE spike in people, scarian flourished, completely shadowing Grumbo which had been the main ship of, EVERYTHING for the past 5 or something years. And then after third life ended, grian and scar had become friends because before that they were not friends, and people got even MORE content with them, and less content with grian and Mumbo (bonus people didn’t know about the glory of Grumbo before third life) and with Mumbo not being in the life series really, and grian and scar being SOULMATES IN DOUBLE LIFE???? It’s like the universe wanted Grumbo to end.

The nail in the coffin was when Mumbo took his, what like year long break? That’s where it truly died cause there was ZERO Grumbo content. And people don’t want to ship and ship that doesn’t really exist anymore

Grumbo is yet to recover and I doubt it will, it’s sad watching a ship you loved and used to be like THE ship slowly fade away, I mean I remember the days I would see new fanart and fics of them everyday, now I have to wait like up to a week to see new art, even more for fics

I don’t hate ANY other Grian ship, it’s just scarian low key ruined everything ngl, and they are a fine duo! I’ll even admit they are a great duo! But it is EVERYWHERE. You can’t look at the Grian or scar page without being bombarded with scarian. And when scar won the life series people made it about grian. It’s too much and it’s too overrated.

I Wonder if this is what taurian shippers felt like when Grumbo took over them huh

When reading fanfic keep in mind that for professional literature: 

Short story: under 7,500

Novelette: between 7,500 and 17,500

Novella: between 17,500 and 40,000

Novel: over 40,000

Fics over 40k are literally a novel written and shared for free.  If you have written a 40k+ fic, you have literally written a novel.

Alright Hermitcraft fans, As the new season looms closer, and as we have essentially been confirmed that two new people are joining Hermitcraft, we have to be on the same page. We all have our theories, and our hopes, and our corkboards, but what follows should be something that everyone understands.

Whoever the two new people are? We are going to hype the HELL out of them. There should be be a tidal wave of joy and support. Drowning them in positivity and welcoming them to Hermitcraft. Their announcements and first videos should be covered in enthusiasm. If you've never heard of them before, you give them as warm a welcome as an old friend - and give them a shot! Might find a new favorite!

I know that if you think someone is joining, and they aren't, you might be disappointed. But you do not put that shit on the people who are joining. You keep your discontent private, and out of the tags. I am not telling you how to feel. I am asking you to have a level of common decency. If you don't have something nice to say, you keep it away from where the Hermits can see.

Imagine getting invited onto the server - both a highly visible job and friend group all in one - and having fans of your friends act like they don't want you there. Hearing them say that 'someone else deserved it more' before you even have a chance. Or imagine you're one of the existing Hermits, and people who claim they support you are going on about 'disapproving' of your friends that you asked to join. Put very mildly, it's rude as hell, and discouraging as hell, and not the Hermitcraft way.

We can make them joining Hermitcraft the best decision of their lives. Or we can make it the worst. That's on us. Let's make it a good time for Hermitcraft Season 10.
