Hiromi Higuruma Headcanons 🌻

A/N: Ughhh I have been having literally 0 motivation for writing, kind of like an art block. I wanna write so much but something just prevents me lmao... But this man, I swear. He just sparked my will to write and hopefully also work off the requests and one trade with a friend I have been working on. Also I just haaaad to get these out of my head

Contents/warnings: Random general headcanons, relationship headcanons & NSFW headcanons. I am just writing about "his S/O" and referring to S/O with they/them. Doesn't contain spoilers from JJK story, just Higuruma and his existence

General headcanons

He listens to Modern Talking. Don't ask where this comes from, I just feel like he'd like their music. Also somehow I was thinking he'd like Bon Jovi, too? He isn't like a crazy fan for either of them, just likes various of their songs. Could see him listening instrumental music as well, like game/movie soundtracks

Surprisingly enough he isn't a huge drinker. He enjoys an alcoholic drink every now and then to refresh, but he knows his limits. He knows when it feels good and when it goes overboard

He doesn't have visible muscles for the most part, I'd like to think him having a bit of body fat which hides them. My man is an attorney, he hasn't been focusing in training or being physically fit all that much. He does like to keep himself in decent shape though, because healthy body equals a healthy mind

He's not tall per se, more like average height, definitely under 180 centimeters

He's a minimalist. He doesn't have anything "extra" in his apartment, just the necessities

Speaking off, his wardrobe probably isn't huge either. Maybe a basic suit or two, so he can wash the other and still have the other one wearable. Otherwise his wardrobe is filled with mostly casual comfortable clothes. He values practical clothes, too

If he ends up having time to play games, he'd definitely mostly be into single player, story focused games. Not into fps games. One of his favorites are, funny enough, Ace Attorney games (he also likes the soundtrack)

SFW relationship headcanons

He doesn't strike me as a person who would be into dating all that much, but if he finds so called a right person, he might consider it. He doesn't really sleep around with lots of people either

He values the personality of a person more than looks. Forming an emotional and a mental bond is what matters him the most when it comes to a relationship

He doesn't even have a type, really. He thinks he is capable of finding anyone attractive if their personality hits him

And while we are at it, I bet he would love to have conversations with his S/O about anything. He'd love to discuss anything, silly to serious to deep thoughts with the right person. He wants to hear his S/Os thoughts and share his own

He'd also love to have playful, sarcasm filled banters/debates with his S/O

Either quality time or physical touch are his love languages

Quality time, because he is often doing long days and working a lot so he might not be around as much as he'd like. But when he finally is around his S/O, no matter what they do, he is going to be very happy. He likes to do the most basic, mundane things together with his S/O. Having breakfast, watching TV, showering together, cooking together, sitting together in the same room...

And what comes to physical touch, he just loves to get touchy with his S/O and most of the time not even in a sexual way. It is like a way to make up for all the time he hasn't been around. All the little touches and kisses he exchanges with his S/O makes him feel so loved

Oh, and one thing he'd absolutely love is to get a massage from his S/O. He would literally melt to their touch

what i would personally want from another DR game

(note: not all at once, since some of these are Mutually Exclusive in fact ha)

realistically:

preferably not a Killing Game. this sounds like Blasphemy but DR was never "about" Killing Games. i'll accept it if it happens, but i'll be Very Skeptical. there's plenty to say about that universe and its themes without throwing another new 16 into the mix. leave that to the Fangans, as i think only Fans can produce something that feels fully "new" w/r/t Killing Games now

preferably uses mostly characters we already know with some great additions. a la UDG

could be serious or a spinoff. racing game, RPG, rhythm game, fighting game, game where we use the Kumas like Pokemon...

if a spinoff, would prefer it still has something of a Narrative to it where everyone's somewhat in character, even if it's silly. think Usami forcing Kamukura to participate in Dangan Kart and he does because he's Bored or some dumb shit like that. give me that Stupid Content

just...another game with Kodaka's involvement specifically. this is filed under "realistically" because Kodaka has recently stated he would like to do it, and that after v3, he was on break from Danganronpa, not Done With It 5ever. considering he still does Birthday Posts and constantly answers questions about DR, he is clearly quite attached still, but ultimately by his own admission it's up to Spikechun

non-realistically:

End of HPA/adjacent timeline. IF, Everyone Is Here UTDP/Summer Camp etc

as a corollary to the above, would prefer that it is not V3's timeline. and V3 is, in fact, a Separate Timeline/"setting reset" according to Kodaka. it is not a retcon/continuation of previous games. BUT: i think that world would be best explored in novels/manga via the Rantaro series Kodaka wanted to do. BUT: i think if it is explored, it will be in a game

further: would prefer an Everyone Is Here game. it would unite the fandom, from old-time fans to folks who came in mostly thru V3 and stick to it

however, of these personal wish fulfillment settings, i think the most realistic of them is an IF-like timeline, esp if released on the 15th or 20th anniversaries. what better way to Celebrate than with everyone from DR1 being alive

Kyoko game that's like Ace Attorney because i don't know it'd just be funny. can you imagine. can we use Komaru to channel Yui

i want a Mukuro game but that's not going to Happen

a UDG-type game in that it Expands on an existing character who desperately needed it. this is under ??? because i imagine no one expected Toko to get her own game that transformed her from kind of a Joke Character into a Fully Fledged Baby. even Kodaka admits he didn't know what to do with her in the latter half of DR1, and she became one of the most Beloved Girls in the franchise in her game

Quite a bunch of them are related to our latest comic about Riddle and his mom, some are related to our previous replies, and some are just about the characters in general.

But before I start I wanted to note one thing: I’m probably going to start skipping some asks, and I’m sorry for that. I always try to answer everyone, but it’s getting more difficult for me to keep up, especially when writing replies where I don’t really have much to say. I’m not saying that you should stop: we read everything and appreciate you sharing your thoughts about characters with us; but please keep in mind that I might not reply. Like I’ve mentioned, me writing replies takes one (sometimes up to two) hour per day, and since I’m an artist, not a writer, it’s especially exhausting for me mentally lol I’m sorry about that.

Sometimes it fits better for him to be totally into all this stuff and be that gross otaku trope (with body-pillows, waifu-mousepads and kinks that are absolutely vile), sometimes it fits him better to just be aware of all that but not necessarily do it actively.

I guess the “default” state for us it that he has seen and actively read/played some stuff, so he is aware! But then again, he also seems like someone who wouldn’t want to see any smut with his precious waifus lol

i'm still so confused why there are so many people who dislike gwen. this is godot ace attorney all over again lmao

of course this isn't universal but imo a large chunk of the dislike for gwen for the second film specifically come from fans imposing their audience omnipotence (and thus recognition of how things are being tonally presented within the film = assurance that miles is heroic and right for rebelling against canon conformity even with the risk the cast believes it poses to his universe, and he will be able to sucessfully find another solution) upon gwen and just not. placing themselves within the shoes of the character and understanding these are not theoretical stakes to them.

they are not aware of the fact that character arcs exist and that they themselves are fictional and that narrative function of their story is to demonstrate why you shouldn't succumb to despair/how suffering didn't make you a good person or hero - pain is just pain. you chose to do good when faced with that. they dont KNOW thats what the story is about lmao.

IN ADDITION, there's also the element to me of fans not having sympathy for the specific difficulty gwen faced as a teenager struggling with the enormous emotional burden of those stakes and the fact she'd recently gone through the incredible emotional upheaval (not even touching the vulnerability of the housing situation) regarding her father? and to an extent for me that just becomes a matter of refusing to engage with difficulties gwen found herself in

i think also. everyone wants to believe they would be the person to simply do the narratively rewarded thing, that they would be miles. that they would risk an entire universe (to their knowledge) and simply know it would all turn out okay. it's uncomfortable to look at characters perpetuating harm out of understandable fear and despair and see where you yourself might have also done something similar, or that you can empathise with what has lead them to this breaking point (in the heightened theatrics of the story).

it truly is that you can lead a fan to water but you can't make em drink.

I've seen posts where people bash the idea of Edgeworth being a father figure to Sebastian because 1, he wasn't really nice to him at the beginning (well yeah, but Sebs wasn't real nice either. Both could have been a little less aggressive and full of themselves but it's Ace Attorney what do you expect? And they don't stay antagonistic towards each other! Thats the important bit! Its character development!) and two, because there is so little fan content of Justine being a mother figure to the boy.

For that second one, why can't Justine be a mother figure and Edgeworth be a father figure to him? Not in a Justine Edgeworth shipping way (I am an AroAce Edgeworth truther) but like, he looks to both of them for guidance. And I could see him living with either. Maybe Edgeworth is more likely because Justine has her hands full with her kid, John Marsh, but still.

Can't Dadworth and Momstine exist at the same time?

Alright, you asked anon, so therefore I must deliver.

Now, before we get started, this is an old theory of mine back from 2020. During the pandemic, I was really obsessed with Ace Attorney, and as such, a bunch of random and absolutely asinine theories would flow through my head. From a casual AA fan's perspective, this would be one of them; but from my point of view, this one actually holds some water.

To you, my dear anon, I ask one question: were you paying any attention to certain lines Bikini uttered during the beginning of 3-5? Lines such as these:

Now, one could assume that these were just jokes, a ploy of mere black comedy, if you will. As you probably know, these "jokes" had a hand in stirring Pearl's paranoia, causing her to go the Inner Temple side of Dusky Bridge instead of consuming children's entertainment. Essentially, Bikini is the entire reason 3-5's plot even happens, seemingly by accident. Or...was it?

If you recall, throwaway dialogue from Bikini when you present the hanging scroll to her as Phoenix reveals that she's a member of one of the many branch families:

"Bikini:

Well, I myself am part of a branch family of the Fey clan. But even I am not privy to that kind of information when it concerns the main family..."

So, what does this mean? It means that Bikini is one of Morgan and Misty's cousins even if only by distant relations. Because she is about the same age as Misty (Morgan's age is unconfirmed), this places her in a comfortable position to be able to have some sort of relationship with them. Misty abandoning the title of Master out of shame, and subsequently leaving the village, was something that almost certainly led to chaos. We know that Morgan was always bitter towards Misty for usurping her position, a feeling that was certainly enhanced by her own cowardice, but what if Bikini felt similarly? And perhaps, this similar line of thinking caused Morgan and Bikini to grow closer to one another to the point that they would plot against Misty's children.

Now, obviously, Morgan and Bikini couldn't do anything while Mia was alive. This is because Mia and Maya were extremely close, even after Mia left the village. If you require further evidence as to why Morgan never attempted anything on Maya at the time, well just look here:

This line is important for two reasons. One is that this is the only time Maya is ever so much as alluded to during the flashback trials; another is because it indicates just how far Mia would go. If Mia were to shoot someone for trying to kidnap her sister, imagine what she would do to Morgan if she tried anything. Simply put: Morgan Fey would not be alive anymore.

Fortunately for our two evil middle aged women, Mia Fey gets murdered, and thus they can finally put their plans in motion. The first thing they try to do is get Maya framed for murder. Now this one almost works, except for one unexpected conflict: Phoenix Wright's existence. In spite of Maya begging him not to defend her because even she's convinced of her own guilt, Phoenix refuses and manages to pull out another win. This results in Morgan Fey going to jail for being an accomplice/conspiring to commit murder, which would normally put an end to things, but this is Morgan we're talking about here.

So, naturally, Bikini finds out about this and decides to visit her cousin so they can figure out a new plan. Morgan, at this point, is desperate to have Pearl inherit the title, and as such decides to plan for Maya to be assassinated by Dahlia Hawthorne's spirit while possessing Pearl. Despite Pearl being a child, Bikini agrees and even goes so far as to insist that this occurs at Hazakura Temple. This conversation happens sometime after Morgan's arrest but before she talks to Dahlia. Essentially, Godot is still comatose while it takes place, thus explaining why only Morgan and Dahlia were believed to be onboard with the plan.

As the date of Dahlia Hawthorne's execution grew nearer, Bikini decided to put this new plan in motion. She convinces Iris to have Hazakura Temple featured in the January issue of "Oh Cult", which proves to be successful when Pearl sets an appointment for Maya to take the "Special Course". Sure enough, on the seventh of February, Maya and Pearl show up with a third party in the form of Phoenix. At that point, Bikini knew exactly what she needed to do.

Even though Pearl was extremely devoted to her mother, Bikini knew that Morgan couldn't force Pearl to follow the plan. So, she decided to sow seeds of fear and paranoia in Pearl's mind by making jokes about her cousin dying of hypothermia if she wasn't careful. Due to this, Pearl became increasingly worried about Maya; and as such, she went to the Inner Temple while carrying a pot of curry/gravy.

However, things didn't go quite accordingly to Bikini's plan. When she went out to Dusky Bridge after leaving Maya with "Iris", she expected to be able to go back to the Inner Temple side; but, because the bridge was on fire, she was unable to. Worst of all, it was not Maya who was killed, but Misty Fey with her adopted daughter, Iris, being the main suspect. You have to imagine Bikini was internally screaming at this point.

Believing her goose about to be cooked on the grill, Bikini decided to play up the "goofy nun with a bad back" routine. Miraculously, everyone bought it, including Edgeworth. Nobody suspected a thing, which really, makes her the smartest villain in Ace Attorney. I mean, being able to outsmart Edgeworth of all people is a crowning achievement on its own.

The best part about all of this is that it's canon, or it very nearly was anyway. At one point in development, Takumi was thinking about making Bikini the culprit of 3-5. Why did he change it? I can't say exactly; although, if Godot also existed during this period of development, that might partially explain why. Since Godot is little more than a funny jerk during 3-2 and 3-3; it's possible that while writing 3-4 and 3-5, Takumi decided he wanted to expand on the character and give him more to do. Of course, that's only pure speculation and should not be taken as fact.

actually I'm going to make this a separate post. @ my fellow ace attorney fans. you should play Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright!

Phoenix and Maya are written so well. The game really understands their bond as besties, the shenanigans are top-notch

The court segments are excellent! It plays a lot like DGS, with the multi-witness cross-examinations. It can get a little chaotic, but it’s still fun even at its most chaotic.

It is, admittedly, also a Professor Layton game, so there are wacky twists and puzzles. In my opinion, I like the puzzles in the crossover better than the set of puzzles in most of the games!

Professor Layton is a really good character. You will warm up to him. He is super cool but is also fully capable of being a dork.

Luke is my sonboy and he was my sonboy from the moment I first saw him.

You get hints! For the trials! You can use the hint coins (a PL mechanic) during the trials! It's really helpful

The prosecutors are so cool. They're just...so cool. You have Barnham, who has a great character arc where he finally gets the gravity of his job and works against injustice. And then you have Darklaw, who is my problematic fave.

It is still very gay despite the lack of Miles Edgeworth. Phoenix and Layton are both the most bisexual video game protagonists ever. Also there are a few neat sapphic ships, both of which are spoiler-y in different ways.

This game was my gateway into playing the rest of the Professor Layton series, which was a very worthwhile decision for me, but...one game at a time.

In a more meta sense, Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright is one of the few AA games capable of leveling criticism of the system it exists in, due to the fact that it takes place outside of the regular AA court system.

You can also watch a Let’s Play if you don’t want to solve the puzzles yourself; I watched Pixel Partners personally before I decided to try playing it myself (which I'm doing right now). Lots of fun either way.

TL;DR: Play Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright. It's really good. You will have so much fun. Or at least I did.

Attempting to Rank the Songs in Project Diva X

WARNING: LONG POST

I downloaded Project Diva X a couple weeks ago, and I absolutely love it. It has its flaws and quirks, but it's fun. But most importantly...

The song list is phenomenal. It's short and very Miku-biased, even by Project Diva standards, but what we have here is ~quality.~ We have a large variety of musical genres and styles. We have both Vocaloid community staples and new experiments. We have MARETU. You sadly won't find these songs anywhere else in the series (minus Mega Mix+ mods, but I mean in an official capacity), but at least they're here. And do you know what I like to do with my favorite things?

I like to rank them. I don't know why. Weird brain stuff, I guess. But if you want to read the ramblings of a sleep-deprived weirdo, you're in the right place.

Keep in mind, all of these songs are at least decent (around B-tier at minimum) to me. Someone has to be last, but I enjoy listening to all of them and playing through the ones I have.

There are stats at the end for each Cloud/Aura's overall score, too. Now, let's go!

32.) Sharing the World

Miku V3 English is...a bit rough-sounding here. Not nails on a chalkboard, but not the most pleasant thing ever. The concept behind the song is cute, though. Miku is everywhere now, and people are using her (and other vocal synths) to share their feelings with others across the world. That is truly beautiful.

31.) The First Sound

Very simple, and Miku sounds a bit shrill on the highest notes. However, the lyrics are heartfelt and sweet. Also, the Triple Threat version of this song's Extreme chart was my first (and is still my only) Extreme Perfect. I don't know how I got it before the normal one, but I'll take it.

30.) Babylon

I feel like Miku's voice gets a bit lost in the instrumental. I also don't get why there are teeth everywhere. That being said, the shifts in tempo and time signature give this song a truly unique vibe.

29.) Even a Kunoichi Needs Love

Again, Miku and Rin feel a bit drowned out by the instrumental at times, but the fast pace and catchy rhythm elevate this song's standing a bit. And the existence of a Naruto and Sasuke cover in one of Minnemi's cursed UTAU concerts.

28.) LOL - lots of laugh -

Slow and repetitive, but the imagery in the lyrics is creative and vivid. You also definitely get a "whimsical carnival" feeling from the instrumental.

27.) Hand in Hand

Kind of generic as far as Miku songs go, but still catchy and pleasant.

26.) Slow Motion

The premise of the song--contemplating life while sick with a cold--is simply delightful. I'm just not the biggest fan of how Pinocchio-P tunes Miku in certain songs, Slow Motion included. Common World Domination is more to my taste.

25.) Ending Medley - Ultimate Exquisite Rampage

Ow, my wrists. This is a fun, nostalgic tribute to Project Diva entries past, and the choice to begin with Disappearance and end with Intense Voice makes for a touching narrative. The Ura-Omote Lovers remix is pretty cool, too, since it starts off slower than normal and speeds up over time. But again, ow, my wrists.

24.) Name of the Sin

You can't really go wrong with a musical fairytale...unless you cut out a good chunk of the song and scramble the story, but I still like the simple, timeless feel nonetheless. The shades of purple used for Miku's Cantatrice module are gorgeous as well.

23.) Streaming Heart

This isn't my favorite of DECO*27's works, but the instrumental break is awesome--heavy and gritty. The charting during said break's Technical Zone, especially on Extreme, amplifies the intensity and makes it feel extra satisfying.

22.) Love Trial

Simple but (fittingly) cute. The piano and trumpet combine well in the instrumental. Miku's tuning isn't the most dynamic here, but it's not a big issue when the rhythms are getting stuck in my head anyway. The lyrics are also quite fun with their courtroom metaphors. Ace Attorney fandom, I want to see your take on this song.

21.) Elegant Medley ~ Glossy Mixture ~

The strange shifts in tempo make certain parts torture to learn (TECHNICAL ZONES), but man, the Nebula part is pretty. And who doesn't love Sweet Devil? The ending is a bit abrupt, but I also don't know what else could have been done there.

20.) Beginning Medley - Primary Colors

I adore OSTER Project, and the group performance of Miracle Paint at the end is spectacular. Easily the best version of Miracle Paint out there. This medley's low placement on the list is simply a testament to how amazing Project Diva X's song list is.

19.) Lost One's Weeping

Rin feels a bit drowned out during the verses, but as someone with horrible test anxiety, I feel the lyrics. You could even say that the drowned-out vocals fit the theme of overwhelming academic pressure. The heavy electric guitar is perfect for the Cool Cloud, too.

18.) Quirky Medley - Giga Remix

Giga-P makes some good stuff. The choices for Rin and Len's solos were a bit weird, though. I mean, Gigantic OTN is a classic, but the sexual theme for that and "Pincostique" Love just doesn't fit the Quirky vibe in my opinion. However, Childish War is peak.

17.) Raspberry*Monster

The stage is a bit "neon barf sensory overload," but it fits the song's chaotic vibes. The chorus is also memorable thanks to the unique melody and expressive shouts.

16.) Satisfaction

EDM isn't my favorite musical genre, but it really works here. I think it's the combination of the awesome instrumental and kz(livetune)'s tuning really leaning into Miku's nature as an electronic instrument.

15.) Cute Medley - Idol Sounds

A collection of Mitchie M classics in all their peppy, expressive glory is a win in my book. Each song, from Freely Tomorrow to Blooming the Idol, perfectly suits the "J-pop idol" theme of the medley. KAITO should have been there, though. He wanted to learn how to be cute, so he should get to be cute. >:T

14.) Patchwork Staccato

A surprise bit of melancholy for the Cute Cloud, but the change of pace is welcome. Miku's falsetto pushes the limits of her upper range without sounding shrill, which I imagine takes immense patience to get right. Her singing throughout is refreshing, too, somehow coming across as sweet yet cold. And we can't ignore the immersive, quilt-like scenery of the stage. However, the Freddy Fazbear cover is still the best version (thank you again, Minnemi).

13.) Love Song

My mom's favorite simply for the "u-papa" parts (although the way she sings it sounds more like PoPiPo ^^"). And hey, I can't blame her. It's bouncy and sweet. It puts you in a good mood.

12.) Strangers

The way the rhythm changes throughout the song keeps things fresh, and the instrumental is surprisingly captivating. I love the stage, too. The Playstation symbol lights are enticing, but not distracting or intrusive.

11.) Holy Lance Explosion Boy

Why are the dirtiest songs always some of the catchiest? And why is Len used for so many of them? It's still a bop, though. A lot of songs by rerulili are. The Extreme chart is pain, but it's not unfair. It's just very, very crowded and technical. It's satisfying to improve my score here, at any rate.

10.) Solitary Envy

Surprisingly gentle and subdued for the Cool Cloud, but that makes it unique. I also love when Miku is given a lower and softer voice, whether it's her Dark Append or a unique tuning style. The syncopation during the chorus gives it a bit of a playful edge, too.

9.) A Single Red Leaf

A classic, gentle love ballad with a traditional Japanese flair. It may not be the flashiest or feature the most realistic tuning of Luka, but it's simply perfect for the Elegant Cloud. Also, despite being on the slower side, it's not painfully slow like certain other songs in the series (Sakura Rain--).

8.) Humorous Dream of Mrs. Pumpkin

Halloween vibes are always good vibes, and we stan Hachi in this household. I wish the song wasn't so obviously cut off at the end, but I am glad that it's here at all. Also, Halloween Miku supremacy.

7.) Cool Medley - Cyber Rock Jam

The transition from Don't My List Me! to Tengaku is so smooth. Absolutely beautiful. Unhappy Refrain is always a jam, Palette was a splendid surprise (with Luka V4x, too!), and This Messed-Up Wonderful World Exists For Me is an incredible finale. Cyber Rock Jam is easily the best medley in the game.

6.) Calc.

The intense guitar solos interspersed throughout the song really complement the smooth, relaxed melody. They're fundamentally different, yet their differences blend into a beautiful product instead of clashing.

5.) Tale of the Deep-Sea Lily

Again, I enjoy songs with a softer, lower-pitched Miku. This one is bouncy yet gentle, and I'm a total sucker for the nautical theme. Plus, the Sea Lily module makes Miku look a little like GUMI (my absolute favorite Vocaloid).

4.) Urotander, Underhanded Rangers

Hilarious in every single way, from the PV to the Extreme chart. The Chance Time star zooming across the screen sends me every time. KAITO, MEIKO, and Miku make for a nice trio, too. I wish they were used together more often.

3.) Ai Dee

It's a Mitchie M song that features Luka rapping in English, as well as bits in French and Spanish. It has to be in the top 3. The Electronica Anode (Miku) and Electronica Cathode (Luka) modules are some of my favorites in the game, too. What can I say? I'm weak to glowy stuff.

2.) Brain Revolution Girl

MARETU's instrumentals tend to be awesome, and it's no different here. The synth is decidedly electronic in tone, yet dramatic in its note progression. The guitar bit in the middle and the quiet segment immediately after add to the drama by bringing variety. Also, C minor is my favorite key, and C# minor isn't too far behind. I just feel so evil and powerful when I listen to this song. I love it.

1.) Amazing Dolce

It's MEIKO and the Kagamines. It's Hitoshizuku × Yama. It's energetic and jazzy. It even has a huge, dramatic, big band-style brass break in the middle. Need I say more? Actually, yes. The modules. They're super creative and adorable with their food themes. Strawberry Witch (MEIKO) and Pâtissier Gretel (Rin) are simply stunning. Len's Pâtissier Hansel module confused me for a while, but then it clicked when I realized that his motif isn't anything banana-related--it's apple pie. So he's also up there, and all of these ingredients combine to give us the best song in the game.

Now for the Cloud rankings. These are simple averages/means:

1.) Elegant - average of 7.83/32

2.) Cool - average of 11.83/32

3.) Quirky - average of 18.17/32

4.) Cute - average of 18.83/32

5.) Classic - average of 21.5/32

6.) Extra - average of 29.5/32

And here are (hopefully correct) weighted averages to compensate for the outliers in each set:

50) Wendell & Wild (Movie, 2022)

A lovingly crafted stop-motion animated movie with some good old kid-friendly horror vibes and a punky attitude, even starring a pretty nice transmasc character that I'm super happy to see. It's a nice story with a good visual style and a lot of heart, and I think Key and Peele being involved is pretty funny honestly. [4★]

51) Murder by Numbers (Switch, 2020)

Decent enough Picross game with a basic detective narrative stringing it together that I'm not really a huge fan of, but it does its job and I appreciate the adorable robot as well as some of its representation. And no idea how they got the composer from Ace Attorney and Ghost Trick, lmao [3★]

52) Pokémon Picross (GBC, Unreleased)

Yeah, this was better than the 3DS one, it's just basic Picross that doesn't do much (only real mechanic it adds is being able to change the music) but that's still better than the shitty mobile game model. They really should have just released this, it was straight-up finished and I even got a cart that works on original hardware because I think that's neat. [3.5★]

53) Paper Mario: The Origami King (Switch, 2020)

Going to be killed for playing this as my first Paper Mario but who cares, this game is cool in spite of its awkward battle system (which DOES kinda suck). Just a fun adventure with typical quirky writing and some surprisingly powerful moments, plus an excellent soundtrack, I'm sure some of the earlier games are better but I did play this one and did enjoy it. [4★]

54/55) Knives Out/Glass Onion (Movies, 2019/2022)

Incredible pair of detective movies, both full of really engaging writing and directing work that keeps you invested and never stops being entertaining to watch, surely still really good on a rewatch too. They also really fuckin' hate rich people, especially the second one which is woke as hell and has one of my favourite endings in anything, so that's what some might call "based". I can't wait to see what Rian Johnson does for the third Benoit Blanc movie, which is apparently meant to be a 2024 release. [5★]

56) Sonic the Hedgehog (IDW Comics, 2018-Present)

These are some damn enjoyable comics, telling some fun and generally quite well-written stories set after the events of Sonic Forces with a cast of really cool characters. Honestly kind of ride or die for Tangle and Whisper, but original villains like Dr Starline are great to read too. Early highlight is definitely the Metal Virus arc, but the more recent stuff with Surge was excellent too. Safe to say the team behind these stories know their shit. [4.5★]

57) Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (Movie, 2023)

They really did it, they went out of their way to make a bigger and better sequel to one of the greatest animated movies I've seen, and it's very possible that they succeeded... but we won't know until the second part comes out, which looks unfortunately unlikely to be any time soon because production sucked. Still, what we did get is yet another gorgeously animated spectacle with a cool storyline, everyone knows that. [4.5★]

58) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (Movie, 2023)

One of the only parts of the MCU that I cared about more or less concluded with this movie, and fuck it might be the best one in the trilogy. Rocket's harrowing backstory really hits out with that theme of some jerkass playing god, and the core adventure of the film is pretty engaging too, just as cool as ever. Plus it's now confirmed Vocaloid exists in the MCU lol [4.5★]

59) The Suicide Squad (Movie, 2021)

Another instance of James Gunn making an actual good superhero movie, this time making a good adaptation of something that previously had a bit of a shit one. I appreciate the kinda edgy nature of the titular squad that was handled solidly here, and their antics are honestly pretty funny. Fun action sequences too, and it's honestly really cool how much the movie thinks rats are awesome (they kind of are tbh). Peter Capaldi, the best version of Doctor Who, playing a mad scientist role is also just... really good. [4★]

60) Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio (Movie, 2022)

Man fuck Disney, this is obviously the best version of the Pinocchio story and their attempt to overshadow it was lame as hell. I quite like the darker take on the story with themes of death and war around Italy's rise of fascism (Tom Kenny Mussolini is crazy btw), and of course the stop-motion animation is really quite excellent. Always love to see movies made in such a way. [4★]

61/62) Sonic and the Secret Rings/Black Knight (Games, 2007/2009)

Yeah, I get why the storybook duo of games have a bad reputation, because the motion control gimmicks kinda suck, but Secret Rings suffers from it far more than Black Knight, and that still has the cool ideas and solid writing combined with a great soundtrack (both games have this). Maybe the mission-based level structure isn't great, but there's some fun stuff to be found in these. Wish they were better though. [2.5★/3.5★]

I should leave this untouched because op is clearly loving the attention but

If you didn't think she was problematic at first, then here it is. Point is, there shouldn't be a problem regarding shipping queer characters. She treated the matter as if "gay shipping" is just a fetiche and uses her blog to mock queer people who see themselves in these characters.

More to the point, fandoms are not supposed to be gatekept. If a queer audience chooses a fandom, that's because they see themselves in these characters or feel safe enough to be part of it. If you see a problem with aa fandom being hit by the "gay beam", that's because it's a content we identify with.

And on top of that, let's just say that creators who are supportive of queer hcs exist. Instead of, you know, mocking people for identifying themselves with said piece of content.

Besides, it's not even about "these are just characters, chill". We've been baited and shadowed for literal decades in every piece of content because of hetcomp. What you're doing is actually harmful because representation matters and you're belittling our struggle to see ourselves in media.

No one is trying to change your mind about shipping queer character. We're legit just calling out your internalized homophobia. Because clearly you're pretty upset by the fact that Ace Attorney is a piece of content consumed and embraced by queer people and thus turned into a majority of queer fan content. Why do you have a problem with that? Why does it bother you to the point of creating a parody blog about heterosexuality and mocking people who call you out for it?

It's not about hurting or forcing someone into shipping queer characters. It's about why you have a problem with it. Why are you not into shipping queer characters when this should be normalized as much as "straight couples" are?

I will tell you why. Because you're disgusted by it and want the attention without being called out for your homophobia.

And I'm not even touching the area where many characters are commonly hc as bisexual/pansexual. The picture of an f|m should not be immediately recognized as a straight couple the same way an f|f or m|m should not be recognized as a gay couple. Unless you also have a problem with bisexuality, which wouldn't surprise me.

There's also the huge gap between the straight and queer communities. Straight people are not oppressed for being straight. We can make jokes about queer culture. Fuck, my very title is a joke. But that's because we're an oppressed group. Same is valid for people of color being allowed to mock and make jokes about white people, whereas the opposite is not true. White people are privileged and are not allowed to use their privilege to mock poc, because that's precisely what they did and still do since forever. Same with the queer community, especially now with so many anti-gay/anti-trans laws spreading all over the world. We've been mocked and painted as villains till this very day. You're not entitled to mock us for reflecting our queerness in a fandom or certain characters. We're not your amusement.

Anyways, do not support /neutrallyobsessed, also known as het attorney. Her behavior is highly sus (as in, bordering homophobia).

so vesper reads fanfiction huh, so what fanfic do they like to read? any particular tropes they enjoy?

also, does fanfiction of the superhero teams exist in this world, and if so, how would the cast feel if they had fanfiction about them?

First of all I want to say that I am so glad that you are interested in what I have so far! It means a lot to hear that other people are enjoying these characters and this world that I am creating!

Also Leon was greatly inspired by Blue Beetle and a bunch of characters like him! So I’m glad you picked up on that! Always happy to see another Blue fan!

So onto your questions:

Vesper likes all types of fanfictions from a bunch of different in-universe fandoms. Mainly though they like this game called “The Psyche of Mors” which is basically a murder mystery/psychological horror game (think Ace Attorney but very heavily mixed in with games like Your Turn to Die, Danganronpa or even Omori).

(In the original draft and notes for the IF, this game was actually going to be a pretty big deal because one of the only things the MC would know about Vesper was that they were a fan of it but anyways-)

Some tropes that Vesper enjoys are found family, hurt no comfort, soulmates, and hanahaki (you can take that information however you please).

As for your third question, fanfic of the superhero teams 100% exist in universe! As for how the characters would react to it…

(I’m only doing the ROs because the sidekick squad wouldn’t have much fanfic written about them because they are all extremely new to the hero scene!)

Alex: She is flattered but also a little uncomfortable by it? She considers hero work her job so she kinda considers it unprofessional on some level. She’s pretty uncomfortable with having fans in general though.

Jasper: He finds it funny. Will 100% look himself up when he’s bored and read through fanfics with him (and other members of Aequitas) in it. Sometimes he‘ll even leave comments correcting the fans on certain details.

Which characters from your choosen fandom had the biggest impact into the story ?

Aside from main characters and characters who explicitly exist to have a big impact on the story, cuz that seems too easy…

In that case…Larry Butz from Ace Attorney.

It sounds. So stupid. To pick this random annoying loser guy above all others (especially over Morgan Fey, who’s in some way directly or indirectly responsible for like half the major backstories in the og trilogy)

But if Larry didn’t steal Edgeworth‘s (red suit guy with tissue cravat) lunch money in grade school,

Phoenix (MC, blue spiky hair guy) wouldn’t have been blamed for stealing it,

so Edgeworth could never have defended him

Larry couldn’t have jumped in too

The three would never have become friends

Phoenix would never have a reason to switch from an arts? major to law after being defended from a murder suspicion, so he can "save“ Edgeworth

Aside from regular defendants, multiple important characters would have been declared guilty for murder and received the fricking death penalty, including Larry himself, Edgeworth, and Phoenix’ sidekick Maya

The murderer of Edgeworth‘s dad would’ve continued being responsible for even more deaths than already these past few decades

Just. The entirety of Edgeworths character arc in general (which spans over 1.5 games and also made him a fan-fave)

Mayas psycho aunt Morgan would still be around (who essentially caused half the other backstories) and indirectly be the head of a place full of spirit mediums (…because dead people are real and can possess others here. It’s a whole plot mechanic)

Professor Layton would’ve been stuck in Medieval England (though I think he could handle the witch trials rather well himself on his own tbh)

Every time Larry shows up he‘s in some way responsible for a piece of major key evidence that ends up turning the whole trial around. Both in the main games AND the spinoff where you play as Edgeworth

Said thing with the spinoff leading to the head of a government getting overthrown

Phoenix being an attorney leading to him not being an attorney anymore, adopting a kid, and being around for the sequel trilogy and therefore indirectly impacting all the stuff that’s happened there as well. Like Maya not being dead, so she can do some stuff here, leading to ANOTHER government being completely changed.

This series ended with three separate legal systems completely changed, all because some guy called Larry Butz stole lunch money and thus created the beginning of the most impactful romance between colorcoded finger-pointing attorneys in all of story-telling.

And even more butterfly effect - chain of the vents things in these games I can’t even remember.

For a guy who‘s explicitly written and also actually played to be the biggest loser in the entire cast of this whole franchise, he surprisingly often turns out to be the MVP.

(…also Morgan Fey already has people analyze her impact on this series back and forth. Sooooo here’s something new! Never said I had to pick the most impactful character :3)

I've been noticing your posts of Detective Conon (is that how it's spelled?) anyways I'd been noticing them and tbh I'd forgotten who it was and I'd been seeing the little boy wondering why he looked so familiar before I remembered where I'd seen him.

He's from the Lupin III X Detective Conon special. That's when it clicked that you were posting Detective Conon. Bro I didn't realize it was him till I remembered this- 😭

Yeah, The Conan (as in Arthur 'Conan' Doyle) X Lupin special was a thing, lol. The thing is that I'm just like you except I'm on the other side of the spectrum, I've only watched Detective Conan, but I haven't watched Lupin at all. I've watched the special as well, but it seems that it was more Lupin focused (I heard it was made for anniversary or something??), so I was kind of confused for some of the parts. There's a crossover movie as well, but after my reaction to the special, I figured that I'd watch both after I have consumed Lupin media. I still haven't watched it but that's because I'm too busy to watch anything at the moment now, but once I'm able to have more free time, I'd love to start watching Lupin since it seems like a lot of fun!!

I'm pretty sure the crossovers were made because both shows share the same animation studio. Detco's (short for detective Conan) mangaka, Gosho Aoyama is a huge fan of the series, even stating Fujiko is his ideal woman. There's even a character who's based off of Fujiko in detco as well!

As for Detective Conan, considering all the fandom I've seen you be a part of (You have great taste BTW), I feel like it would be a shame if you didn't check out the series because I feel it fits perfectly into your tastes. I myself started the series when I heard there were Urusei Yatsura references in the series:

Couldn't find a clear anime counterpart of this so have the manga version instead. This is only just one of the references though.

And while looking up the reference, I came across a small plot summary and it intrigued me. Then I started the anime and I've been obsessed since. Like Ace Attorney, Detco is a mystery series with tons of lovable characters. It also has an overarching plot which keeps you intrigued at the same time. A series filled with Love, Thrill, Shock and Suspense to the brim. I would highly recommend it!!

You can experience the series by either manga or anime. I'd say for you anime might suit better since the manga is still ongoing, over 100 volumes, is officially licensed but it has localization (the names, 96% of the fandom uses the Japanese names), it is readable on the VIZ app for a small subscription, but the localization problem still exists. Of course, you can read fanscans without localization as well. Mangadex is good site for that.

As for the anime, it has over a 1000 episodes (+ movies and OVA and other stuff) but that's because it has tons of fillers. 65% of the series is canon to the manga. You can easily look up a filler list and watch which are canon according to that. There are good fillers, but you can watch those in your own time. There are movies as well, which even though not canon, I'd definitely still recommend.

I'd say if you're watching the TV series in the quickest time, it would take a few months. I think I took 5-6 months, but I also took a lot of breaks in between so it isn't all that relevant.

Anyways, even though watching Detco is time consuming it is still something I do not and will never regret because of story and characters this amazing (and memeable) and I'm pretty sure everyone else who have watched it feels the same.

Detco does have a sister series called Magic Kaito which is much shorter in case you've decided not to watch Detective Conan. It's a phantom thief focused series with 5 volumes and 25 something episodes. However, if you do watch Detco, you will come across Magic Kaito whether you like it or not..

In the end, the choice is up to you. Sorry for all the rambling, when I start talking about any my favorite things I just can't seem to calm down..
