Right so the Plastics x reader idea I had was like a different take on the aftermath of the lunch scene. Reader skips lunch to go smoke because it’s been a stressful day so far and when she hears about what happened she drags Gretchen and Karen to Regina’s house so they can talk about it because they’ve never had a fight this big and she’s not gonna take sides in this relationship and she’ll be damned if she lets this break them up. Maybe they realize all this chaos that’s happening is because of Cady. What happens then is up to you but the relationship stays together
Also can I be 💕anon?
Get It Together
Tumblr media
Description: Reader has had a stressful day and skips much for a much needed smoke break and comes back to hell breaking loose. Her girlfriends are divided and she will be damned if she lets that happen.
WARNINGS: weed consumption (reader has a penjamin, iykyk), plastics being petty, cady almost getting beat up and kicked out of the plastics, mentions of eating disorder, reader being soft for her girls.
Note: okay, so the request said "smoke break" and as a child of the lord, i do not partake in nicotine smoking, i partake in the devil's lettuce. for those that don't know what a "penjamin" is, it's basically a w**d vape. that's my method of choice. (it's not legal in texas so i go with thc-a or delta-8). pens don't emit the odor actual flower does, so reader has a pen.
Y/N Y/L/N has just about had it with today.
It started this morning, her alarm didn't go off, so she was late to first period, teachers were pissing her off, and she didn't have her morning coffee. By the time lunch time came, she was done so she decided to skip lunch in favor of a quick smoke break.
She headed to her car and sunk into the driver's seat and sighed. Her day sucked. She opened her middle console and pulled out her pen. Her trusty pen. She turned it on and pre-heated it, checking her phone for any missed messages.
She took a hit and checked her texts. Imagine her surprise when her group chat with her girlfriends was flooded with angry messages. She was shocked at the hostility between the girls. She exhaled the smoke, feeling more relaxed already.
From what Y/N got from the messages, Regina was pissed that Gretchen humiliated her in front of the whole school, Gretchen was pissed that Regina wore sweats, Karen was pissed that they were fighting.
It was a mess.
Y/N also read that Regina skipped the rest of the day and went home. She was pissed. Gretchen knew that Regina had gained a little weight and was insecure. (They had spent a whole night showing Regina just how sexy she was.)
She texted Gretchen privately and expressed her anger and disappointment. She told her that she better be ready to apologize by the end of the day or she would be punished.
She texted Karen something of the same nature before going to Regina's text thread.
Y/N 💓: Hey, baby. I heard what happened. Let me know if you need me to come to you okay? I'll drop everything.
Baby G💞: It's okay. I'm gonna workout. I have a lot of anger right now and I don't want to say anything I'll regret.
Y/N: Okay baby. I'll come over after school. I'll bring the other two to apologize. I love you.
*Baby G 💞 liked a message*
Y/N took one more hit of the pen and turned it off, locking her car and heading back into school.
She had girlfriends to take care of.
As the school bell rang, signaling the end of the day, Y/N stood near her car, arms crossed, waiting for her girlfriends. She saw them coming out of the school, looking embarrassed. Y/N looked at her girls and shook her head.
When they made it to Y/N, Gretchen tried to talk but Y/N held a hand up. "Save whatever you're about to say. We're going to Regina's and you two are apologizing." The two girls nodded and got in Y/N's car. The girl took a deep breath, got in, and drove to Regina's house.
Y/N pulled up and parked her car next to Regina's jeep. She sighed.
"Listen, I don't know what happened today, I wasn't at lunch, but you guys know that Regina has been feeling very insecure lately and the fact you basically used that against her, makes me very disappointed. We promised each other when we got in this relationship that we wouldn't do things like this to each other. Now, when we go in here, fix this. I've already had a stressful day, I do not want to add to it."
Karen and Gretchen looked shocked at the fact that their girlfriend was so stressed. They couldn't believe they didn't notice. They were so focused on the fight with Regina that they didn't notice their girl struggling a little.
They really had to fix this.
When the three walked into the house, Regina's mom greeted them before telling them that Regina was in their home gym. They headed to the room, seeing Regina running on the treadmill. Y/N tried calling her name but she had her AirPods in.
She stood in front of the blonde, slightly startling her. She smiled at her girlfriend and turned the treadmill off, slowing down before getting off, looking at Karen and Gretchen. The room was silent for a moment before apologies began spewing out of Gretchen and Karen's mouths.
Regina put a hand up to stop them for a second. "One at a time please. That was too much." The three chuckled for a second before Gretchen spoke up. "I'm so sorry Regina. I was a bitch and I shouldn't have talked to you like that. I know you've been feeling down and I shouldn't have used that against you. I'm so sorry baby."
Regina nodded at the girl, pulling her into a hug. Karen hugged Regina too. "I'm also sorry baby. I didn't mean to be mean to you. My feelings were hurt and I took my anger out on you. I'm so sorry."
Regina kissed both girls on the head. "I accept both of your apologies. I'm sorry too. I was also a bitch and said things I didn't mean. I wish I could take them back. I love you guys, and I'm sorry."
The three girls hugged as Y/N looked at her girls with hearts in her eyes. She then caught a glimpse of the box on the table next to the door. "Regina? Are those Kalteen bars?" Regina turned to Y/N and nodded. "Yeah, Cady gave me them to lose weight. I don't know why they aren't working though."
Everything clicked for Y/N. She didn't like Cady and now she knew why. "Baby, those bars make you gain weight. My cousin had to eat them when she was recovering from her eating disorder."
Regina froze. "What?" Y/N grabbed the box and the bar that was sitting on the treadmill. "These make you gain weight, baby girl. I think Cady did it on purpose."
Her girlfriends sat shocked. They couldn't believe Cady would do this. Regina began to stew with anger. Gretchen could sense the storm coming and decided to delay it. "Baby, I know you're angry, but that can be a problem for tomorrow. We have a girlfriend to take care of."
Regina perked up at that. "What?" Karen and Gretchen looked at Y/N who was trying not to blush. "No. I'm fine my loves. I'll be okay." The three automatically surrounded her in a group hug. Y/N melted into their embrace, feeling the stress of the day finally leave her body.
Regina kissed Y/N's temple. "Let's get you de-stressed baby."
The next day at lunch, Cady was shocked to see Regina sitting back at the table. As she approached, Regina smirked. "Seems like your shocked to see me Heron." Cady blushed. "No, not at all Regina." The blonde felt an evil grin spread across her face.
"Good. You're done here. You think I wasn't going to find out about your little Kalteen bar stunt?" Cady went pale. She didn't think Regina was going to figure it out. She was so close.
The blonde snapped. "Here's what's going to happen, you are no longer sitting with us. Matter of fact, you're no longer associating with us. The only thing saving you from not getting your life completely ruined is Y/N. You better thank her for saving your life. Now, leave."
Cady scurried off, almost bowling over Y/N in the process, who was bringing Regina fries. The girl almost lost her balance but regained it as she watched Cady run out of the cafeteria.
She made it back to the table and sat next to the blonde who kissed her cheek in thanks. "What was that all about, Gina?" The blonde smirked.
"Nothing. Just Cady leaving our lives for good."

In February 2022, I was prescribed Seroquel for the second time after being off of it for three years (after first being on it for 12 years) to treat my bipolar disorder. I gained 17 kilos in two months and the medication was changed to Aripiprazole to control the weight gain but I kept gaining. By October 2023 I had gained total 26kg.
I saw my psychiatrist every month and every month I complained about the weight gain. His file clearly stated that I was anorexic when entering the hospital in December 2021 and it took two months for me to agree on starting the medication because I was terrified on gaining weight on the medication.
During all this time, I was told by both my psychiatrist and my GP that I should exercise more and eat less and the excess weight of the antipsychotic would go away. They both told me the weight gain was due to me eating more, even if I knew I wasn't eating more. In fact, I was sticking to my salads and even started a gym regime and still gained like crazy. I told them this, too, but was dismissed.
For the past seven months, I've put extra effort into losing the extra kilos. I've been working out at the gym four days a week for 60-90 minutes per session, walked for 45-60 minutes a day for six days a week, and eaten 1500 calories a day, and lost total five kilos. My personal trainer was mindblown for my lack of success.
This week, I finally book an appointment for a specialist to discuss the weight gain. My blood results came back pre-diabetic and insulin resistant, both something Aripiprazole causes. My TSH (thyroid hormone) has also increased almost out of the reference values compared to pre-Aripiprazole. My body mass index shows that my muscle mass is much higher than is necessary for a person of my height due to all the workout I've done as per recommended by my doctors, but the medication has totally destroyed my metabolism so my body is hanging on to fat like crazy. I'm literally a muscular fat person. I'm suffering from metabolic syndrome and my metabolic age has gone from 30 to 50 in less than two years. I am also heading fast towards a stroke and heart attack, and my cholesterol is skyhigh.
My message is: if you're put on antipsychotics, please have regular bloodwork taken. Your psychiatrist may not pursue them or advise you to do so, but your physical health may be in jeopardy. Exercise and healthy eating don't always help the case, even if the mental health personnel will have you believe so. I did exercise throughout being on the medication and had a healthy plant-based diet, yet my bloodowork looks anything but, all due to the antipsychotic medication.

What is in my gym bag?!
Welcome back to my blog! Today I will be discussing gym accessories and gym products often advertised in the media.
As a highschool student with 2 jobs, oftentimes I have to squeeze in my workout right after school, right after work or any other time where I was “conveniently out”. My school day typically begins with me carrying out my backpack, school lunch, work lunch and clothes, and my massive gym bag to my car since I won’t get the chance to get home throughout the day.
What could you even possibly have in your gym bag? To be fair, when I started working out, I would show up to the gym in my gym clothes from my house, with nothing but my phone, my airpods and a water bottle. As my fitness journey progressed over the years, it seems that my gym essentials had evolved too. Here are my gym essentials as a 17 year old girl with a loaded schedule:
My gym shoes! No I do not mean powerlifting shoes, I am not a powerlifter, but I mean my converse. Personally, although converse aren’t my ideal shoe outside of the gym, they are my favorite in the gym, I have white and black! Converse can be stylish, with the different styles and colors and overall very large selection, however since these have been my O.G shoes for the gym, it seems that I always associate them with the gym… Being flat and light (not the platforms), they offer incredible stability for lifting purposes. It is important to find shoes that accommodate the natural shape of the foot for optimal performance. Fun fact, some lifters even prefer to deadlift and squat barefoot, for the reason being that the natural human foot shape is ideal for balance.
Tumblr media
Here are my "not-so-white" converse at the gym, since I wear them everyday.
Pre Workout or energy drinks… Sometimes my days are over 12 hours long away from home, which can be both emotionally and physically draining. For that reason, occasionally the consumption of caffeine can significantly improve both my performance, mood, motivation and my experience in the gym. I used to consume this product every day, however I soon realized that the negative side effects of daily consumption can be mentally detrimental... Especially for those who have ADHD or anxiety, the caffeine amplifies the effects of the disorders. Now that I have limited not only the frequency of consumption but also the amount of caffeine I do love these drinks. Some of my favorites are Batch 27, specifically the orange creamsicle flavor and Monster Tropical Punch…
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lifting belt… I have the lifting belt by Upper Gear in the color lavender, which is cute and supportive. Lifting belts are used by lifters who want or require more back and core support creating a superficial brace in order to prevent injuries and improve performance. This is absolutely not required in the gym and if anything learning how to brace is very important. More experienced lifters typically use them, as they already know how to brace themselves yet add extra support.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Lifting straps, I love my lifting straps! Lifting straps are affordable, come in different styles and colors and help tremendously, whether it be to grow muscles or gain strength. Mine are camo from amazon and are for sure one of my essentials. Using lifting straps helps lifters who do not have great grip strength, or really want to isolate a muscle group while eliminating limiting factors. I have always had very frail and small wrists, ultimately limiting my grip strength. However ever since I have been using lifting straps I am able to push out for reps, and increase muscle-mind connection.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Helimix shaker! Every lifter knows the nasty smell of protein from an unwashed shaker, or the annoying sound of the metal mixer ball inside. Ever since I discovered the helimix, cleaning it has been simplified, and no more metal ball clinking. The helimix is a shaker available on amazon, and is said to have a scientifically explained shape that naturally creates a spiral of the liquid and thus mixing the contents smoothly. Some say it is a placebo effect, however I believe that the helimix truly mixes my contents successfully. I have the pink one, as well as the teal one, and use them for both my protein shakes, pre workout, and to carry my other daily beverages.
Tumblr media
I also carry some “not necessarily gym-related” items, such as makeup, deodorant, a hair brush, and most importantly my beats! I mean yes, my beats are so important for my lifts and I could not do it without them, however they are also a huge part of my whole life… Any given chance I will be listening to music. Which is why I excluded it from my gym essentials list. They are an essential part of my life, period. To conclude this blog, no gym accessories are actually required to reach your goals, it is important to discover what works for you. Nothing in fitness is “one size fits all.”

First step to changing your surroundings is changing your mindset. I don’t know if that makes much sense but it’s what I’m going with. Things at home have built up to an unbearable mess and it’s so stressful and easy to just put out of sight out of mind. But I think I just need to get into a good mindset and feel confident about other things and it’ll help me stop procrastinating at home and start to feel better about the apartment.
So I fell asleep the other night at like 3am cause I was just endlessly scrolling through this girls instagram videos of “Get Ready for The Gym” and like it sounds silly but watching those videos nonstop gave me so much inspiration and motivation to want to change things for myself. Her morning routine seemed so calming and like something I wanted to create for myself.
This next part makes me seem obsessive lol but I lowkey want to get a couple of her staple items she uses in her daily life including the supplement (protein powder, pre-workout, morning green juice). It’s been a daily topic in therapy for me... how to get back to the gym or at least to just get back to walking or some movement. I remember years and years ago whenever I’d “start going back to the gym” it was always the very beginning that was the hardest but then after a week or so it became such a high. I’d leave feeling all sweaty and gross and I would feel so so good about myself. I really want to get back to that place.
So this girl on Instagram, I forgot how much I like watching other people make stories, review things, talk about their day... I used to love doing that on Instagram but I never post stories anymore and I hardly make posts at all. I miss it, it was a good community and a good way to keep myself accountable and feel connected to others. It’s just tricky in my line of work because my Instagram was primarily a weight loss account and I made it private very shortly after starting work at an eating disorder treatment center.
I’m still on my weightloss journey, very, very slow at the moment but I’m not yet where I want to be. But I think with this new found inspiration from that girl I might be able to get back there. This just gives me some excitement for the summer to make it an enjoyable one, one that makes me feel like I’m doing something good for myself and developing better habits.
I’m just feeling really motivated and excited right now (:

The comprehensive guide below will discuss the pros and con of health supplements so that you are able to make an informed choice on whether you should add them to your diet.
The Pros of Taking supplements for health

This is especially helpful for people who have specific dietary restrictions for example vegetarians, vegans, or vegans and who are having difficulty getting the right amount of nutrients from their diet alone. At eatcafe.it, you can learn  beauty and health supplements.

The absence of regulation

Even though a well-balanced diet may provide all of the nutrition the body needs, some people will benefit from health supplements that fill nutritional gaps and help them reach specific health goals.
Supplements to your health can cause harm?
While the majority of supplements are safe when taken according to the instructions, some can cause side effects and interact with medication. You should consult with your physician prior to taking any new supplement to make sure it's safe for you to use.
What aspects should I take into consideration when deciding on a product for my health?
Look for brands that are well-known and have passed independent tests and testing to ensure purity and quality. Also, you should take the time to study the label and stick to the dosage recommendations.
Conclusion
The decision to take supplements for health is a personal decision, with advantages and disadvantages to be considered. Though supplements provide energy boost and can provide health benefits, they may be costly and could result in unwanted adverse effects or cause interactions with medicines. Always conduct your own thorough research before taking any supplements, and talk to your physician about their safety and effectiveness.
Ultimately, the key for good health is to have a balanced diet and an active way of life. While health supplements can be beneficial to add to your wellness routine however, they should not serve as a replacement for fitness and healthy eating. Making smart decisions and paying attention to your body's signals, you will remain on track for living a more healthy, happy life.

Can we hear more about your shoresy headcanons?
absolutely! i love talking about them but one of them is pretty sad and could be triggering to some so TW for disordered eating/eating disorders.
so i watched shoresy (the show) with a friend of mine that i met in aa and we'd been joking for months about shoresy being in a 12 step program and noticed while watching that he never actually takes a sip of alcohol on the show.
that one's maybe more of a headcanon than a fan theory because he does hold drinks/have them in front of him in multiple scenes, and he requests a top off during the porch scene. but in my head, he's just super private about his recovery because drinking is such a massive part of both hockey and ontario culture. once you focus on it, it's pretty striking that we never see him actually take a sip whereas in letterkenny everyone's constantly drinking.
(TW: emeto) the ed thing is something i noticed first in lk with the scene of him drilling at the hockey rink until he throws up. another component is the recurring gag of him having major stomach problems. initially, it's just a joke, but my friend commented half-seriously that he has ibs and that's why he's constantly on the toilet during team meetings. i'd already been thinking about his concerning obsession with fitness/winning and the introduction of his foster family and his childhood being a fat kid, so i theorized that he could be abusing laxatives/pre-workout to keep his weight down.
this could absolutely be me making a mountain out of a molehill/projecting my own experiences of mental illness and recovery onto a television character, but i don't know. i think it'd be really incredible of the show to shed a light on eating disorders in men, particularly someone like shoresy who exists in a hyper-masculine world like (semi?) professional hockey.
but yeah that's it! i really love shoresy and i hope we 1) get a season 2 and 2) get to see more of his mental health journey because there's definitely something going on there.

From Basher to Believer
Tumblr media
I’d always been on the slender side from when I was a kid until I graduated from college. When I started working and adult life happened, my metabolism started to slow down. I had minimal movement and maximum exposure to all the food I could ever want in the world. When I turned 25, that was when gaining weight happened regularly for me, and family and friends began to notice. In hindsight, I wish I did something about it the first time it was called out, but of course, I dismissed the ‘harsh’ observations at the time, and I was probably in denial too.
By 28, I was officially overweight. This did not come as a surprise. However, I was also diagnosed with polycystic ovaries (PCOS), a hormonal disorder common among women of reproductive age. This condition was also a contributing factor to my rapid weight gain. My sugar was at a pre-diabetic level, and my cholesterol was sky-high. I started taking maintenance medicines for these – Metformin, Atorvastatin, and contraceptive pills. My OB kept saying these weren’t enough. I needed to exercise and stick to a healthy diet. I did not budge. Maybe it was a combination of stress at work, lack of time, and yes, laziness. I would rather sleep or hang out with friends than strain a muscle on my free time (which was not exactly abundant)—if you get my drift.
By 30, I was at 185 pounds and was diagnosed with obesity. In fact, dark spots suddenly appeared on my feet, as a result of “popped veins” because my feet could barely carry my weight. I would crash diet for several days and then resume eating unhealthily. I would also get nauseous from time to time because I also had anemia. The weakness and fatigue were palpable. People around me expressed concern more and more often. Some suggested that I go to the gym, but I silently sneered at the thought of ever going there. Because I didn’t know better then, I silently mocked those who would post workout photos, when in truth, they were worth emulating. They took care of themselves the best way they can, and not everyone had the will power to do so.
When I turned 33 and I got retrenched from my previous job at the height of the pandemic along with thousand others, I suddenly had too much time on my hands. All the books were read; all the errands were accomplished; all the chores were done. I guess I felt so sad and empty that buying a stationary bike online seemed like a good idea. That was the first thing I purchased from my separation pay. Side trivia: I never learned to ride a bike without the training wheels because my parents were overprotective when I was a child. At least now I could ride a bike without falling flat on my face. 😊
Tumblr media
It was probably around July 2020 when I started doing indoor cycling for about 20-30 minutes a day. On days that were extra dull and lonesome, I would pedal for an hour until I couldn’t feel my legs. That got me exhausted enough to sleep earlier at night. That was also the beginning of things changing for the better. I also decided to be more carefully aware on the kind of food I ate, but I never really excluded carbs and desserts. I still drink milktea as much as I’d like—but with lower sugar level.
By the end of 2020, I was able to lose 28 pounds, then 35, then 45 in the ensuing year. Whenever I’d get bored with cycling, I would search for easy home exercises on Youtube. I bought an exercise mat (which is quite tattered now), and I also did Zumba. I highly recommend MadFit! I didn’t do crazy-hard exercise routines that I knew I wouldn’t enjoy. I wanted to move, but I also wanted to keep it fun. I also chose the music that best resonated with my soul while exercising. The amazing thing was, I just didn’t feel lighter on the outside—I also felt lighter inside.
Several months after I got hired by Accenture, I decided to enroll at Anytime Fitness, so I could still exercise on some nights after work. I’ve never been happier to realize just how wrong and ignorant I was back then about people who went to the gym. It was a slap on the face for the judgmental person I used to be. Devoting time at the gym was not easy at all. I’d get lazy every now and then, and I'd bail, but whenever I did go, I felt physically (and even emotionally) better.
These days, my weight has gone on plateau, but the important thing is to keep moving—no matter how minimal. I have to admit, there are days I feel sheer frustration when I see that I’m gaining some pounds again, but I proactively remind myself that I’ve come a long way, and that’s enough. I’m still a work-in-progress, and I just want to embrace this journey, wherever it may lead me. It also makes me happy being able to fit in my old clothes again. A small win is still a win, and slow progress is still progress.
So to conclude this rather long story, and if you’re still reading at this point (thank you), I guess here are the “best learnings” I can share:
Something always seems impossible, until it isn’t. It’s hard to start, but all worthwhile things have to start somewhere.
Go at your own pace. Rushing to meet your goal will only birth frustration.
Don’t keep checking the weighing scale. The more important thing to check is how your body feels. The body never lies.
In losing weight, you also begin to realize you’re losing the weight of other people’s opinions that never really mattered. You do you.
It’s not always a bad thing to remember the past. Looking back reminds you of how far you’ve come. The first person who should be proud of yourself is you!
“And I said to my body, softly, ‘I want to be your friend.’ It took a long breath, and replied, ‘I have been waiting my whole life for this.’” ~ Nayyirah Waheed

Back in like 2019 when I was diagnosed with Persistent Depressive Disorder/Dysthymia, I felt like I had to like “play up” how I was feeling.  The days when I didn’t feel sad, I almost felt...guilty or like I was betraying my diagnosis so I would almost like make myself feel sad.  While at times (and when I was first diagnosed), PDD felt like it fit me.
However over the years, I’ve started to feel like that PDD didn’t fit me anymore.
Do I still feel like I’m depressed? Yes.
However, I felt like there was something else going on with me, but I was never able to explain it fully or I thought it was just my depression growing/being odd/something.
When the husband decided to get help and he was looking up ADHD (he basically self diagnosed himself and I did to when I first met him) and reading about for himself, he would send me Reels about ADHD and say “that’s you”.
So after that, when I started looking up how ADHD presents in women, I was like “Oh....all of that makes sense...”. I knew I had issues with time blindness, but I was always scared to be like “maybe I have ADHD...”, because I never felt like I fit the “stereotypical” person with ADHD.
However, after talking to my therapist and reading the differences between PDD and ADHD, I’m like 90% that I have ADHD in some form.
Hell, when I take pre-workout it calms my mind and makes me focused AF and stimulates do that to ADHD brains.
There’s also a part of me that feels like, once again, I have to “play up” my diagnosis because I guess I want people to...believe me? or something. I just feel like because I don’t fit the typical mold of ADHD, that people wont believe me. Hell, this is the only time I want to “fit in” LOL.
IDK man....maybe it’s me who doesn’t believe that I have ADHD because of the whole “oh society over diagnoses ADHD!!!1111″ rhetoric that was happening when I was younger that makes me feel....bad (?) about this....

Exploring the Health Benefits of Black Raisins
Black raisins, also known as dried black grapes, are not only a delicious snack but also a treasure trove of nutrients that can benefit your overall health. These dark, chewy treats are packed with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, and fiber, making them a valuable addition to your diet. Let’s delve into the numerous health benefits of black raisins:
Rich in Antioxidants: Black raisins are loaded with antioxidants, including phenolic compounds, flavonoids, and anthocyanins. These antioxidants help neutralize harmful free radicals in the body, reducing oxidative stress and inflammation. Regular consumption of black raisins may lower the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease, cancer, and diabetes.
Heart Health Support: The potassium content in black raisins makes them beneficial for heart health. Potassium helps regulate blood pressure by counteracting the effects of sodium and relaxing blood vessels, thereby reducing the risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
Tumblr media
Digestive Health: Black raisins are rich in dietary fiber, which promotes digestive health by supporting regular bowel movements and preventing constipation. Fiber also helps maintain a healthy gut microbiome, enhancing nutrient absorption and reducing the risk of gastrointestinal disorders.
Energy Boost: Black raisins are a natural source of carbohydrates, including glucose and fructose, providing a quick and sustained source of energy. They make for an excellent pre-workout snack or a midday pick-me-up to combat fatigue and boost energy levels.
Blood Sugar Regulation: Despite their sweet taste, black raisins have a relatively low glycemic index, meaning they cause a gradual rise in blood sugar levels compared to high-glycemic foods. This makes black raisins a suitable option for individuals with diabetes or those looking to manage blood sugar levels.
Vision Protection: Black raisins contain vitamin A, beta-carotene, and lutein, all of which are beneficial for eye health. These nutrients help protect against age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, and other vision-related issues.
Versatility: Black raisins are incredibly versatile and can be enjoyed in various ways. They can be eaten on their own as a nutritious snack, added to breakfast cereals, oatmeal, yogurt, salads, or incorporated into baked goods such as muffins, cookies, and bread.
