My favorite sequence from Disenchanted. Also major Emily Windsnap vibes..like Book 1 when Emily's mom recovers her memories, or Book 5 when Emily discovers her mom's lost memories in...you guessed it...bubbles. Seriously if the series does get that movie adaptation, I imagine Mary P. regaining her memories would look a lot like this scene 😊. Enjoy!

This is not my usual content, but I just finished Disenchanted, the new Enchanted sequel, and I was so so so disappointed with it and as someone who loves the original I want to express that.

Enchanted was a childhood classic for me, one of my favorite movies it was so good and clever, and the songs were so good. This just feels like a sad knock-off.

The most disappointing thing to me though was the animated segments that were meant to mimic the original. It looked phenomenally bad, and that is either due to a limited budget or no time for the animators, so please don't blame the animators for this. The heads of this project just did not care to make these parts look good and it shows.

Just save your time, watch the original again if you want that nostalgia. Don't watch Disenchanted.

I remember you guys asked for her a couple of years ago when I shared some work-in-progress-dolls in my stories, and here she finally is: Giselle!

I actually started her all over, using a different head than the Ariel one you can see in my story highlights. I originally bought the Aurora head to try for Anastasia but I kinda got Giselle-vibes off of it so I wanted to use it for her instead (I wasn't really happy with the Ariel sculpt anyway..). The hair was also kinda an accident. It used to be sunlit blonde nylon hair by @dollyhairofficial which I originally dyed to match Pepa's shade.. But again, I got the Giselle-vibes :D

With Disenchanted right around the corner and Disney only releasing exclusive versions of her it was finally the perfect time to do Giselle myself :3 Hope you like her :3 . repainted with high pigmented artist acrylic paints (PRIMAcryl by @schmincke_official) // hair dyed, rerooted and styled, flowers added// dress: 2007 Disneystore Giselle doll, gem added// before doll: 2021 shopdisney 12" Aurora ballet doll

DISENCHANTED WAS GREAT

It had something we hadn't seen in a long time:

My only complaints were:

The low budget imputed into the movie

The poor time pacing of some scenes

The fact that they tried to glamorize the clique(which was something they made fun of, instead, in the first movie)

Wasn't as epic as the 1st move

BUT

Overall, it was a really nice movie. You could sit through it ALL and giggle here and there. Heck the ending even made me want more. I wouldn't mind a small mini series of 8 episodes lol

Was Disenchanted perfect? Nah. There are a lot of things I would change about it, it could’ve used a few more drafts.

HOWEVER!!! I still had a fun time with it and you can tell a lot of love went into it! Amy Adams still OWNS that role and ate up every bit of scenery, what a queen!

someone help me out here please lol

so ive just finished the new (2022???) ‘disenchanted’ disney movie and im a lil confused on sonmething (what a surprise)

in the first film, morgan was what, five? five years old i think. in this sequel she’s just described as a ‘teenager’ but clearly still in high school (i’d have put her around sixteen maybe seventeen)

but in the ��disenchanted’ movie description on disney+ it says it takes place fifteen years after giselle and robert get married. i haven’t seen the original for quite some time but i wouldn’t expect to be wrong in saying morgan literally could not have been younger than five when they marry, considering they cant time travel (probably). so, how can a five year old still be in high school fifteen+ years later, especially not being like the very top age of high schoolers? how can she be described as a teenager? surely she would be in her twenties, no?

look ik im reading too much into it, especially because its literally over something written in a description (which tbh id expect to be wrong more than right) but c’mon disney, do better

Narissa, Nathaniel & the real world - theory -

Around the time "Disenchanted" came out, I watched a video about Queen Narissa on Youtube and found this comment under the video:

And a comment replying to this comment really made me put on my thinking cap:

And although I liked the theory and it all made sense to me, as well it really hit me like a lightning when I rewatched "Enchanted" recently. The signs had all been there, I had noticed them but this time I really realized them. And I thought: "Yes, of course! It all makes so much sense!"

Now let's have a closer look on it since I love theories:

1. Cars

Not only does she know what a car is, she also knows she has to stop them with her magic to not be run over. You can see on the picture she uses the crosswalk.

2. Melodramatic

She knows words like "melodramatic" that Edward doesn't seem to know (yet this could also be him just never heard of that word)

3. Interaction with people

Narissa knows she has to keep things low-key. When Giselle passed out after taking a bite from her poisened apple, Narissa tells everyone Giselle just fainted and tries to calm people down because she knows that's the most effective tactic to get away. Also she knows that the people from New York don't know magic so saying that Giselle fainted is easier to explain than poisened apples.

4. A land without happy endings

Narissa knows exactly what she's doing when she pushes Giselle down that wishing well. She knows it's not just gonna take her out of Andalasia but it'll also slowly "defairytalize" Giselle when she stays in the real world.

5. The two baddies

Everyone in Andalasia is well-meaning, kindhearted and a ray of sunshine. Everyone except... Nathaniel and Narissa! This is of course also because they are the villains, but still...

Speaking of Nathaniel.

Well, I think it's because he is from the real world, too! Narissa either brang him along or he came searching for her. That's why he hangs around her so much and is so loyal to her. They're from the same world. Literally.

And because he's insanely in love with Narissa.
