Hired DJs - part 2

Chomby let his arms hang limply at his sides as he sang through the playlist he prepared for the night. He had prepared an entire dancing routine to go with the music -- getting the crowd hyped was going to be his highlight of the night. No one would see him dancing though. The venue owners strapped a harness to him after finishing the whole "discoballification" process and raised him up to the ceiling. Early on, he tried to move and dance to the music, but his belly made it impossible... so he just resigned himself to singing the songs. Enjoyment wise, he wasn't happy. He loved interacting with his audience. Dancing with them on stage, getting requests and callouts, and people even rubbing his belly... whether with magical hands or not didn't matter at this point. He just wanted to interact with people. [What time is it anyway?] Chomby thought to himself. He recollected all the songs he had sang tonight.... His set was supposed to last four hours, but he'd started repeating his playlist.... Counting up the songs, he realized he was now in hour six of his four hour booking. [Oh.... I hope they didn't forget about me.] Try as he might, Chomby couldn't see the ground below him. All that he saw was his newly-rounded frame... the one the venue owner so GRACIOUSLY gifted him with. [I'm NOT a discoball!] Chomby huffed. Finishing his song, he switched to the next one on the playlist and continued singing. [They better pay me double for this...] At the back of his mind, Chomby felt they were going to say he was a permanent music player at their venue. Wouldn't be the first time someone made that statement... though the previous people didn't have "magical fattening and transforming hands" to keep it permanent. Chomby scowled, but he felt his cheeks flush hot. Though he didn't want to admit it, the idea of being stuck here sounded kinda fun.... ~~~~~ This is a part 2 to the "Hired DJs" picture. 2) what sort of music would they like? have you thought about what genres or bands do they lean towards? do they have a favorite song?

Sam's into artists like Radiohead, Nine Inch Nails, Depeche Mode- music for feeling tormented, lol

he also has a soft spot for disco because his mom would listen to it around the house when he was a kid- she gave him her old Chomby and the Fungus Balls jacket, which he treasures (but almost never wears because he's a little too invested in appearing 'cool', and also is usually clambering around outside in a way that could damage it)

When did you make your neopets blog and what inspired you to do so?

I’ve actually had two blogs prior to this, both of which I deleted over time due to inactivity and just not having the time to handle a whole second blog aside from my main alongside life stuff. I don’t remember what my URLs were or in what order, I think some of my old URLs were supernovamote, ogrins, and cupidnegg... But I don’t remember in what order, or which of those were used for which blog! Anyway, I remade because I’ve loved Neopets for something like 16 years now and it’s one of my constant passions, although sometimes I play sort of on and off if I’m busy with other stuff, but I ALWAYS come back to it. I like having a place where I can throw my Neo-related thoughts into the void and participate with other older players who love it too without making my main blog too messy. This time I’m determined to stick to this blog and not move again, haha.

What is your favorite neopets species?

Honestly this is a really difficult decision, but I’m pretty partial to Poogles, Ixis, Moehogs, Zafaras, and Hissi... I also really like Bori and Lupes and Chombies... And Cybunnies?! Shh, I know that’s far from just one, but I can’t really pick! My favorite pet of mine is a Poogle though, so I feel a lot of special affection towards those guys.

What is your favorite paintbrush color?

Probably Darigan, Disco, and Lost Desert, though Burlap looks AMAZING and could easily rise close to the top once we have more pets. And I have a lot of nostalgia for UC Faeries.

Do you go on the neoboards, and if so which one(s) is your favorite?

I don’t really use the neoboards much, it’s just too stressful and fast paced for me and I’ve never been super talkative on forum-based sites for long periods of time because I just can’t keep it up haha

What team are you joining for the altador cup? Who is your favorite player?

I’m Team Lost Desert till I die for nostalgia sake. I’m Arab and as a kid I was like “I gotta be Lost Desert since that’s where I’m from!” and I have too much affection for em now. I love Leera and Derbi. However, in all of the AC, I think Team Darigan is extremely sexy and Tandrak and Layton have the best and sexiest designs overall.

What’s your favorite game on neopets?

Ugga Smash. It’s the only game I ever got a trophy in LOL.

Who is your favorite neopets NPC?

My favorite Neo NPCs overall are from The Darkest Faerie, especially the Ixi Chieftain, as well as the Werelupe King, Gelert Assassin, and Prince Tourin Rathbone, but as for on-site NPCs I love Rosie the Grarrl!

I don’t really wanna tag anyone since idk who’s down to do stuff like this but I definitely encourage anyone following to participate if they want!!

so since i’ve gone on a neopets binge here’s a progress report:

- i deadass love my baby chomby so much i would die for him

- i’ve repainted three of my pets (rainbow bori is now disco, tyrannian lupe is now spotted, pirate kougra is now pink)

- obtained the complete secret laboratory map (ZAPPIN TIME)

- i’m finally modeling my neohome and refurnishing it

- still VERY proud of my eventide kougra

- working on hopefully getting brainy baby published into the neopian times!

Chomby was usually hired to perform at a gig or two per week. He makes decent money from it, especially with the pictures afterward. He can only book for an hour or so, though, as he has a two hour time limit. To his disdain and chagrin, however, one such job seemed to want to keep him there... as a permanent fixture. "Discoballs are supposed to be round you know... you don't look round." "But I am! I'm literally classified as fat!" Chomby protested. "How much rounder can I get?" "You don't look like a ball. an extremely generous individual has been gifting me red codestones whenever she gets them because she knows I’m training, and I’m so grateful I told her I’d draw her disco chomby, and I’m excited to do it but I’ve just been so depressed for so long that I’ve barely drawn anything since I graduated college in december...don’t know what the fuck is wrong w/me :(
